Pennsylvania Primary Results OPEN Thread

UPDATE: WE KNOW WHAT TO DO. We can’t let him BUY the election. We have as much energy, as much commitment, as much drive as his troops. We have pennies and a few dollars we can spare. I’m going to eat peanut butter sandwiches for the next few weeks if that’s what it takes. Let’s do it!
__________

8:45 p.m.: FOX NEWS calls it for Hillary based on exits / too little actual vote total in so far.
__________

This is wide open. Share whatever you are hearing, on any channel. I’m tuned in, by chance, to Fox News but will be switching around. Also share which channels that you think are providing the most fair coverage of Hillary.

UPDATE: Here’s the link to the state results page. No idea if it’s the fastest.

NOTE: I’ve been warned by some astute experts that we shouldn’t put too much into the early exit polls.

Whenever we go through a night like this, my mind is on Hillary, Bill, Chelsea, and Hillary’s lovely mom. I hope they have a great night. God knows they deserve it for the exceptional campaign they have run in Pennsylvania!

DRUDGE REPORT is ready:

CLINTON 00%
OBAMA 00%

(Hate to say it, but he’s pretty fast at getting the results up.)

MyDD.com is usually good too.

Anywhere else?

CNN said a competitive race. Oh Purrpleassss..

Comment by Kourian | 2008-04-22 19:37:20

We got CNN. That’s all we get here. Wolf Blitzkrieg - he’s a paid Obama shill? Migod the guy is really too much. No votes but they have ‘exit poll projections’. Question: how many polling places are there? How many CNN foot soldiers are there in Pennsylvania? CNN: the art of talking talking talking even when there’s nothing to talk about.

Comment by Kourian | 2008-04-22 19:38:48

Oh yeah. Here’s Blitzkrieg - something like this slipped out.

There’s going to an uproar if the super delegates don’t follow the popular vote.

Great, Blitzkrieg. Good one. You’re an ace journalist.

Comment by Shainzona | 2008-04-22 19:01:56

I want to share. ARGHHHHHHHH

I only drink wine on a primary night. Please, make it stop!

Withdraw NOW OBAMA!!!

CNN wants to keep people watching exit polls as useless as they are, males 54% for Clinton!

Comment by JoeySky | 2008-04-22 19:04:28

Yes, set them up for a bigger crash.

Comment by JoeySky | 2008-04-22 19:03:10

Yeah, courtesy of slash and burn boy.

Comment by Kourian | 2008-04-22 19:42:59

Yeah cowgirl Barry Antoinette got out of Dodge already. Now on CNN they’re saying ‘who would have thought age would be a determining factor’. OMG. With so many 18yo Kool-Aidâ„¢ drinkers out there.

Now Blitzkrieg announces CNN’s new League of First Time Voters. There were moans here! ;)

Comment by Melissa | 2008-04-22 20:48:12

Absoluely amazing that they only figured out yesterday that lots of the college kids are NOT registered in PA. LMAO

Comment by beachnan | 2008-04-22 19:07:41

So-o-o-o nerve wracking. Go Hillary. Saying a little prayer for a big, big, big, WIN!!!!!!

Comment by John | 2008-04-22 19:07:58

Obama will tell his audience tonight that Pennsylvania proves he can be “competitive” in big states needed for victory in November.

And all Hillary has shown is that she can WIN the big states- but she faces real problems in states like Wyoming, Utah, Kansas…not competitive at all there.

So, Superdelegates, what do you want? A competitive candidate, or a winning one?

Comment by Uppity | 2008-04-22 19:13:12

They want George McGovern so they don’t get the crap beaten out of them. Then the Democratic party will be marginalized for another decade or so. The superdelegates were put in place to avoid another McGovern train wreck. Nice work morons!

Comment by Kourian | 2008-04-22 19:44:57

They want George McGovern so they don’t get the crap beaten out of them.

Yep. And Dean & the Fools don’t see it. Migod how thick they are. Again: if there are hostile aliens watching this planet right now they might decide this is the moment to attack! LOL

Comment by Talktruth | 2008-04-22 20:00:38

John, you are prescient. “Competitive” is just the word they’ve still got up at http://www.cnn.com. So slimy.

Comment by John | 2008-04-22 20:03:17

Because to be the nominee, you don’t have to actually WIN any of these big states. You just have to be “competitive.”

And what does “competitive” mean? Whatever the media wants it to mean.

Comment by verminme | 2008-04-22 19:09:42

MSNBC has it 0 - 0. They usually have a projected winner by now. Fishy

Comment by Shainzona | 2008-04-22 19:12:25

They want to string this thing out as long as possible. Normally, a winner is “projected” the minute the polls close!

Comment by Kourian | 2008-04-22 19:46:25

Comment by Melissa | 2008-04-22 20:50:04

NO NO NO_ you forgot the RULZ- they project wins with 2% of precints reporting when Obama is winning a caucus!

Comment by Uppity | 2008-04-22 19:46:47

Al Sharpton has to check all the polls and certify first.

Comment by Mel | 2008-04-22 19:09:48

CNN said DNP saids not many complaints, League of women voters reporting many couldn’t vote who registered by it was never listed as such!

Was the fix in?

Comment by Uppity | 2008-04-22 19:11:35

Yes, broken machines that couldn’t be fixed. People left. Also many Reps who switched were listed as Unaffiliated and couldn’t vote.

Comment by Uppity | 2008-04-22 19:10:32

How amusing. CNN simply will NOT discuss their exit polls. Now experience tells us that if Obama were doing great, we would be hearing from those Obama blowers.

Comment by Mel | 2008-04-22 19:13:16

Man oh man Roland Martin is grasping at straws right now, notice his head is bigger than usual?

CNN pundits going to spend the next half hour talking things up for Obama. This is just damn silly.

Comment by John | 2008-04-22 19:20:28

Just half an hour? Getting more balanced over there, are they?

I’m watching my Red Sox get wacked around by the Angels, checking back to CNN’s vote totals to see when they are going to start updating it.

Comment by Mel | 2008-04-22 19:14:35

Never this season has CNN not reported a poll result after 15 minutes of them being closed, they have always reported within minutes the early results, somethins wrong here!

Comment by Amanda | 2008-04-22 19:19:05

That’s true Mel, normally they start giving results right away. Wolf was saying “breaking news”: race too competitive. Can’t call the winner. That’s why I switch channels. Jim (Belushi) is funnier.

Comment by Amanda | 2008-04-22 19:17:03

this is nervewrecking. Can’t watch CNN, can’t watch MSNBC. Exit polls on CNN said that 54% of Nora’s rednecks went for Hill. MSNBC in the bottom of the page show “white men for Obama” according to their exit polls. I’m watching According to Jim, and later Dancing with the Stars. Can’t watch MSM.

Comment by Talktruth | 2008-04-22 19:26:45

Yeah Donna, after all, they are only terrorists.

66-34 MSNBC. “too early to tell”

Comment by John | 2008-04-22 19:43:46

What CNN and MSNBC are doing could not be more obvious. They want to hold off declaring Hillary the winner until it’s very late, so it wont make the front page of a lot of papers and most of the country will go to sleep not knowing how it turned out. No victory speech by Hillary seen by millions. Lessen the impact of the Obama loss.

If Obama had any shot at all at even making this close, they’d be drooling over the numbers right now.

exit polls say 52-48 for Hillary, is four points good enough? I’m not sure… hopefully they are off

Comment by John | 2008-04-22 19:47:27

I think that Drudge-leaked 52-48 exit poll, put on the web three hours before the polls closed, was a total sham designed to diminish Hillary and discourage her supporters, and to energize the Obama people. Watch the final results in no way resemble that spread.

Comment by rigso | 2008-04-22 19:49:57

i’m going off CNN exit polls, but i sure do hope its a bigger margin!

KARMA!:

Obama Site Visitors Redirected to Clinton Campaign

On the eve of the presidential primary in Pennsylvania, an online prankster leveraged a security vulnerability on Sen. Barack Obama’s campaign Web site to redirect visitors to Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s campaign site.

According to Symantec, someone embedded computer code into a posting on the Obama blog. The content in this case targeted cross-site scripting flaw (XSS), an exceedingly common type of vulnerability that can be used to automatically redirect Web browsers viewing the affected page to another site.

The redirect was posted shortly after the Obama site was listed at xssed.com, a collaborative online archive of cross-site scripting vulnerabilities present in thousands of Web sites.

The state results are far behind - 70-30 must represent the rural vote. That is why CorpsMedia were not terribly eager to talk about the early results.

check out all the rural counties that haven’t even reported yet; then check out the ones that have, and you see that Hillary can count on 2-1 margins in a lot of counties once their votes come in. And she’s being competitive (word of the night) in Philly and Pittsburgh. That’s why it’s clear Hillary is going to win, and probably by at least eight points.

Dear xxxxxx
Thanks to you, we won a critically important victory tonight in Pennsylvania. It’s a giant step forward that will transform the landscape of the presidential race. And it couldn’t have happened without your generous support.

There will be much more to do beginning tomorrow. But tonight, let’s just celebrate the fact that you and I are part of a remarkable community of people tough enough, passionate enough, and determined enough to win big when everything is on the line.

Thanks so much for all you do.

Sincerely,

The most recent numbers show Barack Obama is winning in Philadelphia by a 60-40 margin. He needed to roll up bigger numbers in what was his Keystone State base.

Why didn’t he?

Excuse me Jack Cafferty, but you obviously don’t know jack shit!

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton has a job for a few more years. A job she earned and does better than your sorry, curmudgeony ass tries to do as a commentator. So should she not get the nom because the Democratic Party is too stupid to breathe and whoever is President will need her cooperation.

And, btw, she’s on record as apologizing if any woman was offended by that comment and she set the record straight back then by pointing out that she does indeed bake cookies, too.

How about you give a yawn about this: a hundred years from now nobody will remember your name, but Hillary will be in the history books.

When your opponent outspends you 3 to 1 of course you’re going to ask for your supporter’s help. Out of all the speech that’s all he picked on. Switched to Fox, as much as it hurts, they sound much better. And much more positive about her speech.

What a Great Speech by Hillary..Wonderful and Inspiring..I applauded Non Stop..So many great diverse Supporters Cheering her On..

They just asked on CNN ..what the First Impression was after the Speech..Someone told Anderson the Word that comes to Mind about Hillary is “TENACITY”

I agree, and thats what I Admire so much about Her..

“THE TENACITY OF HILLARY” ..What an Inspiring Woman..

Yes She Can…God Bless her and God Bless America..

Yeah that’s ironic, innit? But they’ve been better for quite some time now.

Hey Uppity: Bill says she has another one like that he can get to me tomorrow. Is that good enough? ;)

That’s what pisses me off. Huff Post, “bitter voters” went to Hillary. I don’t get this. I’m 29, double-majored, speak six languages, and they keep on saying that only poor, racist voters vote for Hillary.

PS: Listening to Obama now … he has that preacher tone when he speaks. Condescending? loool, and here he goes about not taking money from big companies.

Will he scratch his face?

Hillary trounced him in PA!

Comment by Andy | 2008-04-22 21:51:25

How was the turnout? Anyone knows? Normal? Heavy?
It seems that with 75% of the vote in there are about 1.5M voters; that would mean a total of 2M; that would
be less than 50% of registered Dems it seems.

Does anyone know more on this front?

Comment by Kourian | 2008-04-22 21:51:44

Barry’s on. Migod I can’t stand the way he talks. Can’t figure out who he reminds me of. Homer Simpson? But it’s HORRIBLE delivery.

And Uppity called it - he’s wearing a black suit. How did you know, girl?

Oh: he’s also been casually flicking his bird finger on his right temple. Idea now is to make us believe he does this all the time and it means nothing. So OK you get a deal, Barry. We say to you:

Sit on it, Barry. Sit on it and ROTATE.

And oh yes - we say that to people all the time too. Especially our fellow office workers with their swivel chairs.

OK gotta get the remote and switch Barry off. Bullshit-O-Meter is peaking.

Uppity: get you the jacket tomorrow. Necklace too I think. Want me to drive it over? ;)

Comment by Michaela22 | 2008-04-22 21:56:33

Comment by The Gringo's Wife | 2008-04-22 21:53:40

I agree Melissa … there has been a shift towards Hillary. I thought that when, after months of the AOL Poll showing Obama ahead, Hillary was way ahead. Something is afoot .. or is that a finger?

Just because the MSM Barakmotons aren’t talking about it, America sure is. We reject Obama.

Note: Donna Brazil spoke up for the whites and latinos tonight …

“I love black people…” she said, but let’s talk about others who support Hillary. Donna may be a Barry supporterd but her mamma did’t raise no fool.

Obama is coming off angry! So what’s knew?

Comment by beebop | 2008-04-22 21:55:53

Donna being nice is not a good sign. She’s too mean to be nice.

Comment by Kourian | 2008-04-22 21:57:26

Oh Barry you’re too good. You’re such a bluffer. Such a bullshit artist. I love how he starts this sentence he thinks is gonna be REALLY GREAT and then just past halfway through he realises he doesn’t know how to finish it. And then the windup is like him in PA - it’s a dull thud as it hits the pavement. Precious! LMAO

But I mean this: I literally CANNOT STAND his Sunday gospel preacher style. It’s simplistic, it’s an insult to intelligent people, it’s vapid, it’s fetid, and it gives him the opportunity to put out monosyllabic sound bites and play these people like the suckers they are.

It’s Hitleresque.

Comment by Michaela22 | 2008-04-22 22:00:29

C’est tout incroyable. I’ve just heard Barry refer to:

- How he’s going to unite the political parties like he’s already done in Illinois and Washington. (I wasn’t under the impression he’s done shit so far.)

- His twenty years of public service.

Tout incroyable. Migod he’s really building up now. Obama is the party and the party is the United States and Obama is the United States. Gonna hear that any second now.

Migod that guy is a piece of work. But as stated before: it’s a good suit. ;)

There’s a song by the Rolling Stones which is a cover of a song by Bob Dylan which is especially applicable to wee Barry at the moment.

Once upon a time you dressed so fine
You threw the bums a dime in your prime, didnt you?
Peopled call, say beware doll you’re bound to fall
You thought they were all kiddin you
You used to laugh about everybody that was hangin out
Now you don’t talk so loud, now you don’t seem so proud
About having to be scrounging for your next meal

How does it feel, how does it feel
To be on your own with no direction home
Like a complete unknown, like a rolling stone?

kourian, thanks for the memory. love that song. and loved dylan before he got stupid.

song fits o-who? so well.

time to go donate to hillary. just waiting to see final result, as i said i’d give $10 for each percentage point. will it be $100? i’m hoping for $120. ($200 would be even better, but i’m not crazy like the obamazoids.)

There HAS to be some kind of reason these two are always wearing black. Nobody could wear black this often by accident. Is this some kind of religious whacko thing? It’s so sardonic.

Comment by Kourian | 2008-04-22 22:43:48

George Lucas said he has this thing about earthy colours versus black and white contrasting stuff, good versus evil, and he’s used it in his movies. Maybe Barry’s really Darth Vader? Or is he really Senator Palpatine?

Comment by Kourian | 2008-04-22 22:56:33

Yeah it’s not just coincidence. What I suspect is they both look fugly in coloured clothes. Maybe some Photoshop wizard can try it and see.

The last I heard without cable was Hillary 55%, Boy Wonder 45%. With 96% of the votes. Eventually Dean and Company will have to ask themselves why the Annointed One cannot win in the big states that the Democrats need in November. You can win a lot of states with 10 or less electoral votes, and where are you? I’d rather have California, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Add Ohio and you’re pretty close to being elected. A funny thing happened to the Chosen One on the way to being annointed.

The Obamabots talk a good game about following the rules. The rules state you need 2025 for the nomination. Without counting Florida and Michigan, I don’t think either one can get there. No wonder they want Hillary to drop out.
