Disturbing GOP Vid Targets Obama on Wright

The PA primary demonstrates that the Jeremiah Wright controversy badly hurt Obama. Contrary to the finger wagging New York Times editorial, “The Low Road to Victory,” blaming Hillary for daring to wage a winning campaign in Pennsylvania, Obama was undercut mainly by his own severe problems, especially his 20 year relationship with Wright.
We now know that Obama’s Philadelphia speech on race in which he refused to disown Wright was not as the media touted a fabulous success but instead a crashing disaster. Obama’s Wright relationship has permanently alienated white working class voters, Catholics and Jews, among others. And the Republicans know it and are preparing for it.
A new 30 second video produced by a shadowy Republican group, which only contains factual footage, no commentary at all, is headed like a torpedo toward the Democratic Party is it nominates Obama. Every superdelegate should watch this video and explain why they would want every Democrat to bear this burden.
Meanwhile, down in the Tarheel state, NBC/National Journal’s Carrie Dann reports: “The North Carolina Republican Party will unveil a 30-second ad [Wednesday] that attacks Democratic gubernatorial candidates Beverly Perdue and Richard Moore for endorsing Barack Obama. The ad, per the party, will reference `controversial figures from Barack Obama’s past’ and raise the question of the candidates’ `judgment’ in supporting him. The ad will be unveiled at an 11am press conference.”
According to Dann, “The Rev. Jeremiah Wright is expected to play a starring role.”
Because of his relationship with Wright, Obama is becoming a serious drag on down-ticket Dem candidates. Why should every Democrat have to bear the burden of Obama’s recklessness?

1) War hero
2) Straight talker
3) Will be portrayed as squeaky clean
4) Considered moderate by most

One of the things that the GOP did, either on purpose or accidentally, is paint McCain as someone not extreme enough to be their nominee. that put it into the Dems minds that he’s not as bad as Bush. That’s all bullshit, of course, but the moderate Dem voters could have problems if they are choosing between Obama and a repub they see as moderate.
The term Reagan Democrats comes to mind…. and when it comes to Hillary, I’m thinking of the Clinton Republicans from the 90s, as well as the Reagan Dems he won back to the Party. We need them to win. Dean & The Elites seem to think that their new scheme to render those swing voters irrelevant does not take into account the loss of the Hillary supporters that have been pissed off and driven away from the Party.
This is the real problem for the superdelegates who are themselves elected officials. They are on the verge of having Wright, Ayres, Rezko, etc. hung around their collective necks. They might bewilling to accept Obama as the nominee in order to placate certain segments of their electorate even though he is likely to lose the Presidency. What they don’t want is to lose their own precious little races because of him. Let’s hope they have the political acumen to recognize what’s coming. Don’t hold your breath waiting for the lights to come on, however. Democratic officials have pretty much fallen into whatever political advantages they now enjoy and become aware of political tsunamis only when they’re caught up in the waves.

The ad that you’re referring was not a smear piece; it was factually accurate and dealt with a substantive issue. It stated (factually) that Howard Dean did not have any military or foreign policy experience and raised the question (one that many had) as to whether he would be the best one to deal with dangerous people such as Osama bin Laden.
Not a smear job at all. The Dean campaign cried foul because they had no answer to the legitimate concerns that some had about him, concerns that would certainly have been exploited by George W. Bush had the Vermonter been given the Democratic nomination.

There’s two things about it that concern me:
1) It came to my email inbox identified as coming from Barbara Boxer
2) It actually came from the Sodahead founder
Even though the poll came as a direct question, I think the way it was phrased is EXTREMELY BIASED. I’m also upset that Sodahead is using Barbara Boxer’s name to get responses to such a poll. I believe Sen. Boxer has remained neutral in this campaign thus far.
I am asking here that all Hillary supporters do two things: 1) Complain to Sodahead that they should not use Barbara Boxer’s name (or anyone elses) for their own phishing expeditions and 2) Contact Barbara Boxer’s office and complain about this poll, and make sure they know her name was used and the context in which the question was asked. If Boxer did indeed endorse this question, I would be personally outraged.
I’m divided on whether to actually respond to the poll and show our strength. There are so many such BS internet polls, it probably matters little…except for unfortuantely the Sodahead founder’s posts probably get more page hits.

…… I am concerned that there is a psyops program that has nearly taken over the Dem Party. What else accounts for the bizarre set of circumstances that have permeated the Democratic party scene? Imagine if a practically unknown entity had access to unlimited amounts of money. So much money as to be unfathomable. And very little background and no history. All this before he even won a primary. The media fawning over a Democrat who is supposed to be the most liberal Senator in the Senate. Yea I believe that. And a whole network in love with a Democrat..yea that happens. Despite not having passed a liberal bill, except a bill he collaborates with John McCain (a man who also wants an achievement to go along with his campaign…and you need to discount some strange intersections with each others advisers….like father and son..Brzezinski’s) Never mind your suspicion. This candidate is vague and charismatic. Games the caucus system. Is able to have two key states not have their votes or delegates counted and therefore makes his caucus wins seem pretty important. Can’t really win a big important primary except home state, but everyone won’t mention it. He gets his feelings hurt easily. His campaign and the media collude to paint his opponent as a racist. Any attempt to challenge this absurd assumption is met with howls and screams about the Clinton’s negative campaigning from the media, and the media, still fawning and the Obama campaign itself, still attacking and feigning outrage. The public, believes the media, and feels sorry for Obama. No evidence, except a memo from Obama’s campaign that tells of strategy to find and use anything as a ploy to accuse the Clintons of racism. No folks, move along. No Psyops here. And those blogs who were once rational and sane, who suddenly became presidents of Obama’s Fan Clubs. Just coincidence. It doesn’t seem strange at all. Does it?

But the ‘Kool-Aid at Nürnberg’ clip has close to five million. A lot of the viewers are people who will be able to vote in the next 8-12 years but still and all the word has to get out.

The Obama campaign can spin it all they want. We all expected the Republicans to hit Obama with Wright. Hillary has held back. She could’ve used Wright, Ayers, The Weather Underground, Rezko all along. She knew about it, thats why she’s been stayin in the race. I do worry about the down-ticket Dems. The youth vote didn’t bother to vote for them in Texas. So what good are they for the party in general. Not much. And we need a Dem majority in Congress, we need Dem governors, state legislatures and yes, school boards (in Florida, we’re fighting to keep creationism out of the classroom). Now about Florida, We hear that there were voting problems with the machines in Pennsylvania. We lost 2004 because of them. We Floridians knew we had to get rid of them. How did we do it? We had to let the Republicans move up the date of the Primary because the bill to go to paper ballots was attached to it. What was more important? We got rid of the voting machines and ended up being punished by the DNC.

They don’t announce superdelegate endorsements right away; they keep them for a negative news cycle. So there’s no reason to think that the person decided to endorse recently…

I’m from North Carolina, and I was just waiting for this to happen. Our politics can get very mean and very muddy here. Hillary and Obama in PA was a prom dance compared to our state politics. Jeremiah Wright and Obama’s own comments about bitter small town people probably won’t hurt him in urban areas like Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill, but he’ll get clobbered in other areas of the state.

I can’t find the link to the other commercial that is running in NC, but it was done by the same guy that did the “Willie Horton” ad against Dukakis and it slams obama it is pretty powerful. I’m actually glad that the NC GOP is putting this TV ADs against Obama. It saves Hillary some of the expenses in placing TV Ads.

My guess is…
Not all Republican are voting for John McCain, some of them would rather abstain from voting in the GE than to vote for him. But because of their patriotism, their love for their country; they are not going to take a chance on a Barack Obama winning the Presidency. NO WAY. Obama is obviously the worst of all three candidate, I don’t have to tell you why.
