Obama Congregants: Waaaaa! Leave Barry Alone! No More Debates!

No Quarter has a verified copy of a letter from a member of the Democratic Party in North Carolina that is addressed to the North Carolina Party Leadership. It seems that the debate scheduled for April 27, 2008 has been abruptly cancelled. Our letter writer, a registered Democrat, has some serious questions about the real reason this debate was cancelled.

According to the state party’s press release, the reason for the cancellation is sort of, but not really, this:

“time constraints and logistical issues associated with such a large, national event.”

The press release then goes on to say,

“While there was great interest in the debate, there were also growing concerns about what another debate would do to party unity, …” (Uppity Translation: There are growing concerns that any more hard or revealing questions might not be so good for Baby Jesus Obama.)

Concurrently, Obama supporters at a Raleigh NC event did what they do best. They chanted.

Did they chant, “Yes We Can!?” Nope.

Did they chant “Ooooo Baaaahhhhh Maaaaa!!”??? Nope.

They chanted “No More Debates!!!”

Word has it that this rally was held at the same venue where Obama flipped Hillary the bird. Obama wasn’t flipping birds this time though. He was riling up his infantile base to get him out of another debate he can’t handle.

It is rather interesting, isn’t it, that the man who claims he is going to “Change The World” went into the fetal position when hard questions were tossed at him. The kind of questions Americans have a right to see answered by a man who came out of nowhere and who wants to be the most powerful person in the world.

I can’t help but think that, if Obama had been through what Hillary has been through by the press during the past 15 months, he would be institutionalized with a nervous breakdown by now. He can’t even handle a tough debate. And while none of these questions matter to his entranced following, they matter to the vast majority of Americans.

The problem, apparently, is that Barack Obama doesn’t think he owes anybody an explanation about who he really is and who he hangs out with, and he feels that we should just coronate him right now. Kind of like George Bush nearly 8 years ago. It all kind of makes you wonder what kind of Hope-y Change-y President this man would make, doesn’t it?

Now onto the letter, written by a brave registered Democrat we shall refer to as Anon. After all, we don’t want Obamazoids to descend upon his house with pitch forks, do we?

The letter was written to a paid state party staff member, Jeminee Richir, the Online Communications Director for the North Carolina Democratic party:

Dear Jerimee Richir,

I am writing in order to seek justification for the various claims you make in the press release you issued yesterday regarding the debate scheduled for April 27, 2008 in Raleigh.

According to your press release, the debate was cancelled as a result of “time constraints and logistical issues associated with such a large, national event.” To which time constraints are you referring, and what specific logistical problems proved to be insurmountable?

I ask these questions, as the North Carolina Democratic Party had already secured a location, a network sponsor and a time slot. I quote the Charlotte Observer:

“The debate would be held at Raleigh’s RBC Center, home to N.C. State basketball and Carolina Hurricanes hockey. Meek said it has helped energize the state’s Democrats, with requests for tickets running 500 per hour at peak times in recent days.”

“Meek said the state Democratic Party and the CBS network chose April 27 because the debate would follow ‘60 Minutes,’ putting it in a coveted timeslot.”

Were there specific problems with the venue, or did you encounter problems with CBS?

I await your response to these questions.

I also desire substantiation for the following claim:

“[T]here were [sic] also growing concerns about what another debate would do to party unity.”

Who articulated such concerns? Which elected officials or party operatives cited these concerns? According the Charlotte Observer, the Chairman of the NC Democratic Party, Jeffrey Meek, did not have such concerns on April 17, 2008. I quote:

North Carolina has never hosted a debate for its Democratic presidential primary,” said N.C. Democratic chairman Jerry Meek. He said Friday that he’s still confident Obama will accept the invitation.

“‘North Carolina is the 10th most populous state in the country,’ Meek said. ‘This is a great opportunity for North Carolinians to hear directly from the candidates about issues directly related to North Carolina.’”

Governor Easley also desired a debate in NC. I quote:

Gov. Mike Easley is urging Barack Obama to agree to a debate in North Carolina

“In a letter dated Tuesday, Easley wrote to Obama that a debate with Democratic rival Hillary Clinton would energize and motivate N.C. voters ahead of the May 6 primary.”

Did other elected officials in NC articulate concerns about party unity. And if so, who? Or did a specific campaign, namely the Obama campaign, cite these concerns? I ask, as the Charlotte Observer reports the following:

Obama made clear that both scheduling and strategy will determine his participation

“He had previously agreed to an N.C. debate April 19. Clinton did not agree. The Pennsylvania primary is three days later.”

“Clinton has agreed to an April 27 debate. Her N.C. director, Ace Smith, said, ‘It looks like their intention is to stop debating.’”

Are the logistical problems you cite ones created by the Obama campaign? And why does your press release conflict with the news reports of David Ingram of the Charlotte Observer, who noted in three different articles that the Clinton campaign agreed to a debate in NC on April 27, 2008?

References:

Lastly, why are the rationalizations for the cancellation of the debate you provide in your letter similar to those issued by the Obama campaign? You write,

“Senators Clinton and Obama have offered additional opportunities to be seen and heard across the state in the coming weeks and months.”

This is essentially a paraphrase of the following statement of Obama cited in a Charlotte Observer article:

“‘I will tell you, after the 21st debate — all of which have been nationally televised, and so North Carolinians have had ample opportunity to watch these debates — I don’t know that they are ending up being more informative than the kinds of town hall meetings that we’ve scheduled,’ Obama said.”

And when, exactly, did Senator Clinton claim town halls and rallies will serve as substitutes for a substantive debate about the concerns of NC Democrats? Please provide a quotation from an official press release of valid news source.

I thank you for responding to my letter. And I also want to thank you for your advocacy for Obama at BlueNC.com. I read the site regularly, and I know you write under the name “Jerimee”.

I hope your support for Obama as evinced by your comments at BlueNC did not inflect the various claims you make in the press release you issued to North Carolina Democrats yesterday.

Sincerely,

Anon
Registered Democrat
North Carolina

Nice job, Anon. Hope you are still well. I was wondering: Do you think you will get any answers to this obvious rig-job to get Barry out of another debate? We understand that a reporter from the Charlotte Observer has responded to your letter and is interested in any further developments. So are we.

Thank you, brave Anon.

Spot on!!!! “I can’t help but think that, if Obama had been through what Hillary has been through by the press during the past 15 months, he would be institutionalized with a nervous breakdown by now.”

Hillary has a strength that defies all of the laws of human nature.

What a POTUS she will make!

Regarding the Above Proceedings in iIllinois, and Obamas Comment that any Debate would depend on his schedule and on Strategy..

WHAT..?? North carolina is mentioned as Obamas next most Important State, where the real Peoples Choice will take place and Obama belkieves he has such stronge Advantage..

Why would He cancel a debate there now..??

Fear.?? Afraid He going to Lose Votes now that he knows he is losing Momentum and People are starting to examine him More Closely..??

that the ONLY Plausable Explanation…!!

As far as Strategy ..I wonder If that means Obams camp and DeanCamp getting together and discussing and Approving that strategy…??

Would that be Ethical of the NATIONAL Party since there are Two Front Running candidates Right Now..??

Its always about Ethics, isn’t it..??

she is amazing, what stamina. It’s a truism that the first female has to be smarter and tougher than any guy, and it’s sure true for her. Not to diss Obama, Hillary could cream anyone in a debate, and pass any policy quiz, and know the history of legislation, what it was intended for, whether or not it works as intended. She may be the smartest candidate in our nation’s history, this would not surprise me. And it’s not just a lazy high IQ, but she also studies, does her homework, doesn’t take things personally, has a great personality. Reminds me of an ubber mom,the one you always want to be in charge, because mom never sleeps, she keeps us safe. And as james Carville says, “I just love her to death.” Too bad he can be the veep.

LOL….Refusing to do anymore debates is a big mistake methinks…..

Comment by Whatever | 2008-04-23 17:46:56

I wonder why CBS doesn’t offer to do a Couric/Clinton 1.5 hour one on one interview in the NC venue that focuses on hard questions…policy or otherwise no holds barred.

It would be a sweet get for Couric and Hillary could make fine use of the prime Sunday airtime. Win/Win

(I’m sure Bambi would reconsider in a heartbeat)

Ooo, that’s a good idea!

Comment by workingclass artist | 2008-04-23 17:59:41

I think it would be good to get Helen Thomas….But she’s a grown up and a woman and a cracker and a senior….Barry would back out of that one…

they chanted “no more debates!” ?

that is so asinine. you know, i am starting to admire bush more than this obama guy. at least bush doesn’t whine about debates. he just goes there and tell it the way he see it. bush trusts the media to spin it well for him and it works.

obama, even with all this positive media support, is still afraid of debates?

what a whiner.

Comment by Hope | 2008-04-23 17:10:58

I agree with you Lori, but remember when Bush went in with the famous “pack” upon his back that no one could literally figure out what it was? :)

Maybe Obama needs one of those packs on his back under his suit coat too. He can’t seem to stand up under pressure or on his feet without a script.

Heh. Hi Hope. Two souls with a single thought. Happens sometimes.

Isn’t that too funny! Did anyone ever figure out exactly what that was? I think I got sidetracked when that happened.

Actually, while it’s been almost 8 yrs, Bush’s campaign actually publicly flirted with the idea of NO debates against Al Gore in the late summer of 2000.

You’re right. And anyone with half a brain and any manners whatsoever will also notice the rudeness. It’s a real turnoff to “typical white folks”. And the fact that Obama doesn’t try and straighten out the crowd’s behavior is also very telling.

Comment by Liz | 2008-04-23 17:45:14

Did he not say “No, no. She ran a good race.”? Because those are the words that were emitted from my TV.

Comment by beebop | 2008-04-23 17:52:03

Gee … did you miss the rest of his condemnation, er, concession? ;)

In his concession speech, Mr Obama condenmed those who would “say or do anything” to win an election where Democrats not only had the chance to reclaim an office “but the trust of the American people”.

Comment by stodghie | 2008-04-23 18:42:08

WE have a right as Americans, no matter what our party, to state our outrage despite whether or not it seems politically correct to you. Time to wake up. Life is not a scripted event like Obama’s campaign. People are individuals and do not have to subscribe to a party rule. We don’t live in the former USSR.

We grace the Democratic Party with our spontaneity!

At least some of us refuse to be intimidated by the likes of you.

Jesus H. Christ… Can you get the marbles out of your mouth? Putatatively? Amorphous?
Ad hominem? In a blog less than 50 words you manage to throw in three needless bruisers like that. I know we’re all deeply impressed that you scored at least a 500 on your SATs, but really, if you are going to be annoying and interject your unwanted-self here, could you at least try to be less pretentious? There are two ways people hide the fact that they have nothing to say: the endless recycling of catch phrases (the Obama way), and the needless
promulgation of over-stretched verbiage.

Yup. 38% and he marginalized the party for decades. The democrats had TWO presidents in the past thirty years, and only one of them was a two-termer. And now they are even demonizing him. The problem has always been the whacky fringe. They are the mirror image of the republican social conservative whack jobs. That’s why superdelegates were formed to begin with. To make sure the party avoids another McGovern train wreck. And if anybody is a train wreck, it’s Barack Obama. At least McGovern had some experience under his belt and was a hero. This guy is a vapid empty suit who can’t even put two words together without a chanting script.

Check out Air America radio sometime, all of the hosts not only hate the idea of Superdelegates, but pretend that they dont understand where they came from, why they are necessary, how they can be included in a DEMOCRATIC primary, etc. It’s called Willful ignorance. Or just plain dishonesty. Pick one.

Oh, but caucuses? No problem with them. Not at all. Perfectly reasonable and fair.

The American public deserves not to be surprised at the material the real rightwing will hurt Obama with come the fall if the suicidal lemmingness of the Democratic Party refuses pragmatic, proven leadership in Senator Clinton.

Why is everything all about the O!? He doesn’t want to get taken to school at a debate again - by a girl, no less! He sucks at debates because he sucks at substantive policy! She’s got a massive headstart on him & he cannot HOPE to catch up, it’s nothing personal.

Whining surly jerk. It’s easy to lob figurative firebombs at DC from the other side of the wall. I do it verbally all the time. What is harder is to deliver change.

Hillary is the right president for right now. This is about endings, not beginnings. We have old business to clean up. So tired of this fantasy land of hope & change. Grow up.

Comment by Liz | 2008-04-23 17:41:35

What material are they going to fling at him? He has been competing, for the last 5+ months, against someone who has been better funded than McCain. The longer this goes on, it is entirely likely that the general will be shorter than the primary.

Also, do we think that the Republicans are going to politely refuse to discuss anything that happened (or was alleged to have happened) between the years of 1994-2000, as Obama has? My guess: no.

Comment by Uppity | 2008-04-23 17:52:33

McCain won’t have to answer for Bush except where his record requires. And he was very smart about that.

Obama has yet to be asked about Odinga, Hamas endorsments, Rashid Khalidi, Zbigniew Brezinski and his cold call center in Gaza City (with video already recorded). If you think that the Republicans aren’t going to address these things and scare the CRAP out of America, then I do not even know what to say to you. Then they can easily take his campaign lies, which add up to far more than Bosnia. Not taking money from Lobbyists for starters. Or Oil money. this is a lie and I will be DAMNED if I am going to do the research again and retype it all for you. Then there is the fact that five of his top ten contributors are sub prime lender bundlers. Not to mention his finance chair who busted a bank and stuck it in the nose of the customers. And I am only typing what I can think of right now.

Let me extrapolate on the Odinga issue. I think it will be mighty uncomfortable for Obama to try and explain why and how his own paid advisor travelled to Kenya to help Odinga for at least a month (on a tourist visa!), and the ensuring violence, but worked in Kenya and travelled there PRO BONO?

Are there FEC rules about campaign funds being diverted for those uses? Cuz I guarantee Dick Morris does nothing for free… The story told is that Dick met Odinga at a “party in Chicago” and was “introduced by a mutual friend” and was so moved that he decided to spend a month helping him.

Oh.. that is going to be a very interesting scenario to unwrap.

You know, your analysis would be interesting if this was the general and there was actual vote . . . which is the only time the electoral college comes into play. But since this is not the election, the “electoral college” analysis is about as useful as tits on a bull.

So let’s tally: we have the “she wins by GOP rules” argument, the “electoral college” argument, the “”Black votes don’t count” argument, the “caucuses don’t count” argument, the “Obama can’t win California” argument . . . you have all these arguments, but one fact remains: HE IS IN THE FCUKING LEAD!

Maybe if you actually overtake him, THEN you might have a point. But until then, you folks are just making yourselves look silly

He’s in the lead, because he’s reaming the fine folk of FL and MI.

This is the primary, and even with only FL included (where both BO and HC were on the ballot) she’s in the popular vote lead.

So if you wanna play only in the primary sand box, let FL/MI vote. Then come back to me with your who’s in the lead.

I love to point it out from time to time. See, it’s funny, I saw the whining earlier about “Obama outspent me 3 to 1″, now you are whining about not getting another debate? What? No tears this time? C’mon! Let’s see some tears!

This is your problem, Hill-fans: she simply cannot win, but you are not willing to accept the truth. So you create an imaginary world . . . where the Dems use the GOPer delegate selection rules instead of their own rules; where the rules are changed in midstream because it might help the Warrior Queen of Tuzlah; where caucus states don’t count but disqualified states do; where Massachusetts is a “big state” but Georgia, with a larger population is not; wheer 9.2 rounds up to 10; and where the person behind on states won, popular vote, delegates, and money somehow gets to lead the ticket, while the person who ran a better campaign and BEAT HER LIKE A RENTED MULE takes second fiddle. This world, people, does not exist. Your candidate has higher negatives, no money, and trails in head to head against the GOP candidate. Handing her the nomination is akin to saying that the MAJORITY of voters who voted for Obama just don’t count. Yeah . . . THAT’S a recipe for success in November!

Comment by Uppity | 2008-04-23 18:07:45

Watch. Learn. And until I see the number 2025, nobody has beaten anyone. And if you think Florida is settled guess again. He lost 8 out of 9 large states that democrats have ALWAYS needed to win. And adults don’t let children pick presidents. Now take a moment and read this interview with George McGovern as to why superdelegates were put in place, specifically to avoid another GE disaster with a candidate who surrounds himself with nothing but radicals, screaming children and college kids looking for excitement as a loser presidential candidate. Then you will understand exactly how secure in this nomination Obama is not.

Ah, yes . . . back to the ole “Obama won’t win California” argument. Well let me clue you in to another way of looking at this: since Hillary obviously can’t win Wisconsin, Minnesota, Maryland, Vermont, Illinois, Washington, Hawaii, or Connecticut (all states that Obama won and Kerry won in 2004), she will fall 76 electoral votes behind Kerry and lose 362 to 175!

See how stupid your analysis is?

Comment by grtphoto | 2008-04-23 18:38:14

Note also that the most heavily Hispanic wards voted heavily for Clinton: ward 7 (70 percent to 30 percent) and ward 19 (65 percent to 35 percent). Hispanic voters may have contributed to Clinton’s 60 percent in Lehigh County (Allentown) and 58 percent in Berks County (Reading); those counties were 10 percent Hispanic in 2000, the highest percentages in the state. As I noted in a previous blog post, Latinos, like Jacksonians, have proved a heavily pro-Clinton (anti-Obama?) constituency.

How do you plan to win Arizona or Florida without the Latino vote? If you haven’t noticed, Obama has blocked the revote efforts in Florida and Senator McCain is from Arizona.

Did you also miss that Barak is losing to McCain in Massachusetts? If so, please check one of the earlier threads here.

Comment by Patrick Walker | 2008-04-23 20:26:50

Well, the latest SurveyUSA has Hillary easily winning against McCain in MA, but Obama tied and/or losing in MA (Obama ahead by two points). Doesn’t this undercut the notion that her negatives are holding HER back when it could very well be the other way around? It’s Obama’s negatives that are holding him back, and costing the general election to be won by McCain. Heaven forbid McCain wins MA!

If Obama can’t carry a blue state with the governor, the two senators and the blessings of many of the Kennedy clan, what is wrong with Obama? Hillary even went and won the MA primary with virtually NO endorsements from the MA political establishment. Obama had them all in his corner, yet still lost and looks like he’d lose the state to McCain in the GE. Also, if Obama has to campaign hard in MA just to keep it, that means he would have less time to campaign in other battleground states, almost all of which he couldn’t even carry in the primary season.

I was quite astounded that Obama does so poorly in MA. This is the reality of Obama; he’s unelectable in 2008. Not even close. And what happens when Obama is blown out of the water in November? Will they be able to blame Hillary, as they are already preemptively trying to do right now? Will they blame “racist” American voters like places such as HuffPo have been desperately trying to do? Or will they look in the mirror and realize the disaster OBAMA has wrought?

Not only is Obama bad for himself, have you seen the new GOP ads, which I now refer to as the Six Degress of Kevin Bacon? Why? Because they are using the endorsements of Obama by two Democratic candidates for governor. The ads basically say that since Obama is an extremist because of Reverend Wright, then those that endorse him must be cut from the same cloth, and therefore radical extremists themselves.

I think this may explain why some SDs, particularly the elected variety, are very reluctant to back a candidate now because they have to suspect the GOP will use Obama against them in their own election cycles, either this year or two years from now. Right now, there is such a cloud over how the GOP will use Obama, congressmen and other elected officials who squeaked into office by thin margins cannot afford being linked to Wright through Obama.

My original fear is that Obama would become Dukakis: The Next Generation. He’s educated, coherent, which is typically denigrated by the GOP has a huge anti-intellectual streak. Obama’s “liberal” record makes him quite susceptible to the charge of elitism even before his SF comments. Now they have his own words they can twist against him. It’s also now common knowledge that he can’t break into blue-collar folks and the GOP will use that as well to drive their point home about how “out of touch” he is to middle America.

Obama might be a spell worse I originally feared. Instead, it may not be Reverend Wright as the “Willie Horton v2.0″, but Obama himself; a figure used by GOP attack ads against local candidates. They’ve begun in North Carolina already, as was mentioned above.

The real truth, even when the Democratic field was filled with candidates, Obama sucked at debates. It wasn’t until the MSM started fawning over him and giving him a pass as Democratic hopeful after Democratic hopeful left the race. Then it when it was down to him and Hillary, people like Russert, Williams et al were down right vicious in their obvious contempt and hatred for Hillary. But Hillary stayed strong, answered questions and kept her head above water. The first time Obama gets asked a few questions that he feels he shouldn’t have to respond to, therefore that’s why he was stupid enough to come to a debate without answers, the minute he gets roughed up a little bit he does what? His punkass flatly refuses to debate anymore.

Now if that doesn’t look like some yellow-belly, coward shit I don’t know what does. Tell me, does he think that Putin hasn’t paid attention to that? Ahmadinejad? Medyevev? Kim Jong-il? The list goes on.

The Democratic Party needs to stop worrying about damage to the Party and pick the person who’s right for the country.

Could these people be any more stupid!

Obama can’t run a fifty state campaign. Two states were stopped from revoting by him and his two senatorial co-chair thugs in Michigan –having blocked the bill to allow a revote. If you think Florida (record turnout) and Michigan are going to forget…..These are what are called SWING states. This means they have no problem voting republican if they are ticked off at the Democrat.

Comment by B-Rob | 2008-04-23 19:49:42

Again, correct me if I am wrong, but when did Obama become a Michigan state senator such that he had a vote? And exactly how did he convince the Hillary backers in the Florida congressional delegation NOT to do a rerun their?

Funny . . . she had no problem with “disenfranchisement” until she realoized that this was not going to be a coronation. Now its too late and she is whining and blaming Obama, a person with NO SAY ON WHAT HAPPENED? W.t.f. is wrong with you people! Michigan, like Ohio and Floria and PA are SWING states. Obama is dead in all those places.

Yeah, there’s a lot of RED states. Like Texas where Senator Clinton beat Obama in the popular vote. Go figure. Details.

They voted DFAD in the primary and will revert to their ‘bitter’ selves and vote REPUBLICAN in November.

And unlike the previous ascension, there’s no do-over on November 7th.

Comment by Uppity | 2008-04-23 19:57:24

Yeah I do know. I also know there are Catholics, gays, white women, Italians, hicks who pray and have guns, and Jews. How come you don’t know that? There are only 70,000 catholics, so what the hell. And have you seen the numbers of Hillary supporters who will not vote for him in November? They won’t be staying home either. That includes if he tries that Hillary VP stunt. That would make most women even angrier. Plenty of us have watched women in second slots doing all the work to make some mediocre man look good. So if they think that will work, good luck with that. If he steals this nomination (and not letting Fla and Mich revote IS stealing), Hillary can just wait out four years of Yawn McCain. She’s not stupid in spite of the fact that she doesn’t have a dick, you know.

I also know that barry has a better chance of seeing God than he has of converting most of those red states. The only reason he won them was because of the AA community in the south. In November, Barry won’t be able to block Republicans from voting. And florida and Michigan are going to give him the finger, which he deserves. In the end he may be the nominee, but he’s a loser in November and a big one at that. Contrats.

Incidentally did you know Hillary beat out Obama last night among the latte crowd? In fact she took Upscale Bucks County 62-38.

Time is NOT Barry’s friend is it now?

Comment by may not have to leave the party | 2008-04-23 23:55:07

HOW ARE YOU GOING TO FIGHT FOR US AGAINST THE TERRORISTS??? WITH YOUR EMPTY TALKS???? WITH YOUR BRUSHING YOUR DANDRUFFS FROM YOUR SHOULDERS??? WITH YOUR MIDDLE FINGER TO YOUR OPPONENT???? COME ON, OBAMA, DEBATE!!

Comment by Garlic-Nosed Guitarist | 2008-04-23 18:10:40

Utterly pathetic. Giving a speech to announce this in front of a friendly crowd of Kool-aid drinkers is laughable on its face.

How can anyone expect to be given the keys to US military when they show such cowardice and can’t even show up to a debate?

I think our global adversaries would take notice of such cowardice and perceive it as a weakness.

And I also think Hillary can declare victory of this debate since she is courageous enough to want to show up.

Obama is not acting presidential at all. He obviously does not really seriously want the job. And we won’t give him the job anyway. He’s kaput.

Comment by J.Foreman | 2008-04-23 18:12:00

No candidate should be allowed to wear an ear phone and they should be admonished as the debate begins and ordered to remove it. He can’t answer anything unless its a memorized speech. He is just too dumb about the issues or anything to do with being the president of the United States. Someone, anyone, can you tell me if he has dual citizenship, Kenya and the USA? We should insist that he attend the debate. Aside from that I believe there has only been one one-on-one debate with just Obama and Hillary. Am I wrong?

Comment by B-Rob | 2008-04-23 18:21:14

We should insist that he attend the debate.

See, this is what you Hill-bots don’t understand: you are LOSING! Losers do not get to dictate ANYTHING! You get to ask politely if he will join you in a debate to give your feckless candidate another bite at the apple. But “insist”? What friggin planet are you people on where the Number 2 candidate tells the Number 1 candidate what to do? It is that very arrogance, capotured perfectly in NOT PLANNING PAST THE SUPER TUESDAY CORONATION that has you on the outside looking in! Your entitlement mentality is so grotesque, you think the TRAILING CANDIDATE gets to set the rules? W.t.f.?

OK, Hillary, let’s see. You knew going in that they would not get any delegates. But you ran a dumb strategic campaign and decided to ignore the “flyover” states and you didn’t organize enough to be competitive in the caucuses . . . which, mind you, have been around for a couple hundred years. So now you trail the better run, better planned campaign. So the world is supposed to stop, change the rules just for you? Well, boo fcuking hoo! If you had planned better, you would not be in this mess.

It is not Obama cheating that gave him 12 straight victories and 14 out of 16; it was your own incompetence! And so he is the bad guy because he won’t bail your lame campaign out? Uh huh . . . the unmittigated arrogance and entitlement mentality of the Hill-bots reigns!

And by the way: there is no “other front running candidate”. You are behind in delegates, popular votes, states won and cash mainly because of your own incompetence. You are losing, not winning. The sooner you deal with that reality the better for everyone involved.

He can so depend on this state for his vote that he can IGNORE us when it comes to a debate. That’s fine because either way he is screwed, if he debates she will thump him just like she did before and if he doesn’t he comes off looking, weak, scared and ineffective, not traits that will help him make inroads into the blue collar working people that he so desperately needs!!!

The next Proceess in Eleminating Race Problems now is to move on to solving all race problems, Predjustice, Militancy and criminal Activity..

That Includes the Black race Problems, which are coming to Light, and the many other racial and Gender and Ethnic problems…so that we gets some consolidate Leadership for each group and problem and include it at the cabinet level somehow…

I agree with those now, who suggest that even Mayor nutter would be a good short list candidate for VP..

I would really like to see John Edwards heavily involed..on Poverty issues and Problem solving…with rwesponsible revenue spending, thightly controlled, and on Foundaiton Grants…which i believe have been Exploited ..and Money wasted..

Hey this is really cool. Two friends of mine who are Clinton bloggers in Indiana and who go by the names Obi-Wan and Jar-Jar decided to drop by a Barry campaign office and see if they could get a job.

The first thing they noticed was this line of PCs along one wall all open to Digg and YouTube. They were manned by a bunch of preteen pimply youths who were continually modding down anything pro-Hillary and modding up everything pro-Obama. They had bags of Doritos and empty Dr Pepper cans all over the place. There was also an overturned KFC bucket on the floor.

So Obi-Wan and Jar-Jar go up to what looks like the one in charge (she’s the only one looks 18 or older) and ask if they can sign up to help. They’re told they first have to pass a PQ test. PQ it turns out stands for political quotient and it’s evidently something all Obama workers have to take (and pass).

There were three preliminary questions ordered in terms of increasing difficulty.

1. Spell ‘hope’. (H-O-P-E)
2. Spell ‘change’. (C-H-A-N-G-E)
3. Use the letters the above two words have in common to form a new word. (If you answer ‘HE’ - for Obama - you pass. If you answer ‘EH’ you’re out the door.)

Both applicants passed the test this far.

The next part of the test involved watching five Obama stump speeches from beginning to end. Afterwards you’re supposed to answer the following multiple choice question.

In the five stump speeches you just watched and were totally thrilled by: how much of what Obama was saying was bullshit?

A. None of it. It was all true.
B. Some of it was bullshit. But not much.
C. I fell asleep watching the first one so I don’t know.

D. It was all bullshit but I’ll still work for him.

If you answer A or B you’re out the door. If you answer C you get the job. If you answer D they put you in campaign management.

So I get it, the trolls will keep pounding away that Hill “has already lost” Jolly good show. That’s a smoke screen misdirection spin and disingenuous, to boot.

We will keep pounding away:

Obama is unelectable due to poor judgment (Wright, Ayers, Rezko, etc.) and what the Republicans will do to him. Well we see that video ad with Wright in it already as proof in the proverbial pudding.

The delegates will have to exercise wise leadership, take the heat from not being PC, and nominate the only chance for the Presidency: Hillary.

Oh and let us not forget the “riots” that will ensue when Hillary “steals the nomination.” yada yada yada

Nothing like using fear of mob rule in a campaign. And it won’t work: America is strong and resilient, look at Hillary! :) We’ll easily survive any potential unrest.

The game is on.

Yeah, I saw it. Let me ask you a question . . . you think there might be a GOP attack ad on Hillary? That is what I just don’t get . . . the fact that Obama has few skelatons in his closet is a BAD THING because of what the GOPers might do; yet you ignore the very real skeletons in Hillary’s closet (not to mention Bill’s) because supposedly all the dirt (and there is tons of it) has been exposed? How does that make any sense? It is much better to have them make it up with Obama, rather than use the very true stuff about the Warrior Queen of Tuzlah!

Of course there will be attack ads against Hillary. We on the Hillary side feel she has been vetted on most issues. We also feel Obama has not been vetted. We feel she has a much better chance having the experience of the Republican attack machine on her resume.

Bottom line: It does not matter what I think or you think — the delegates will be making the decision.

That says more about how the old bulls view Obama as their new bitch. The Senate is prison and as

Red said…

“These walls are funny. First you hate ‘em, then you get used to ‘em. Enough time passes, you get so you depend on them. That’s institutionalized”

So is your reality. No matter how you spin it, you just can win it.

And one of my favorites …

Red: [narrating] I have no idea to this day what those two Italian ladies were singing about. Truth is, I don’t want to know. Some things are best left unsaid. I’d like to think they were singing about something so beautiful, it can’t be expressed in words, and makes your heart ache because of it. I tell you, those voices soared higher and farther than anybody in a gray place dares to dream. It was like some beautiful bird flapped into our drab little cage and made those walls dissolve away, and for the briefest of moments, every last man in Shawshank felt free.

.

Such is the “brief” fate of Obama supporters. A seperate unsustainable reality, they have sucked on the oldest pipe known to man. Hope. And still we are not free.

Comment by B-Rob | 2008-04-23 18:48:57

It was 9.2 points, which rounds to 9. Not 10. When you say “10 point margin” instead of the actual 9 points, you are boosting the margin about 11% higher than it actually was!

Sheesh! I know Hillary is ethically challenged but didn’t think her people would lie about the vote totals, too!

Comment by Garlic-Nosed Guitarist | 2008-04-23 18:51:51

Please cite a reputable source for this alleged rounding off, etc. I am sure most people will be happy to use the exact figure, since it doesn’t change the fact it was a huge victory anyway.

Thanks!

Comment by B-Rob | 2008-04-23 18:58:59

Simple math:

54.6 - 45.4 = 9.2

You round DOWN from 9.2, not up. And it is a grotesque distortion to round 54.6 UP to 55, then round 45.4 DOWN to 45. Because that makes the spread look like it is close to 10, when it is actually closer to 9.

Hell, even if you were consist and rounded 54.6 up to 55 and rounded 45.4 up to 46, guess what the spread is? 9

Comment by Garlic-Nosed Guitarist | 2008-04-23 19:03:36

Kindly provide a link to the basis of the simple math. It will actually help your argument anyway. :) And if those are the exact numbers, I’ll guess the 10 point spread was prior to all the votes being counted?

If you are correct, I don’t see it as a large issue, and I am personally happy to use your numbers once they are verified.

I imagine the “10 point margin” lie comes from some desire to exaggerate the size of the win to encourage the rapidly discouraged Hill-bots. But calling it 10 when it is actually 9 is an 11% fabrication! People have gone to prison for less!

Comment by Uppity | 2008-04-23 19:19:26

What no fractions? Show me one state that was counted with fractions. 9.2. Crack me up. 10 for clintin is 9.2. For Obama, it’s 10. All righty then.

The point is, she just kicked his butt in a big swing state that Democrats need. That’s the 8th time.

And your beloved CNN just said she beat him among the latte professionals too. 54-46. Guess why? It’s the Women, Stupid.

As I explained before, the “Obama can’t win California” argument is about the dumbest one you folks have come up with yet! It is even lamer than “caucuses don’t count” or “Black voters don’t count”. Here’s a hint: if Hillary can’t be win the Obama states (and there are twice as many as Hillary states), she will lose by a margin close to McGovern!

Here’s a thought: maybe if Hillary had payed more attention to those flyover states that “don’t count” she would not be in the losing situation she is in, where she and her minions have to come up with assinine arguments like “she is ahead in the electoral college” or “she would win under GOP rules.” Yep . . . and if you got a point for first downs, the Patriots would be the undefeated Super Bowl champions! That ain’t how the game is played so stow the idiotic argument.

Comment by Garlic-Nosed Guitarist | 2008-04-23 20:55:05

B-Rob,

I think you forgot when quoting the 9.2 percent figure that:

Unofficial Returns
*** 9,219 out of 9,264 Districts (99.51%) Reporting Statewide ***

You are correct, it is a 9.2 percent difference. I think people have been using the 10 percent figure because that is what CNN/MSNBC/FOX was reporting late last night.

I guess I am not a Hill-bot then, since I will use the correct figure, and thanks for the information. :)

And bottom line: it does not change the fact Hillary had a huge victory in the face of huge financial advantage of your candidate.

Thanks!

Please find me one official site that lists the percentage tallies of any primary or caucus using decimal points. Or are you telling me that when Obama wins by 10 points it’s ok to call it ten even if it should be a fraction?

I am waiting for those official results of all the point tallies of all the races that have been won. Good luck with that.

Comment by Uppity | 2008-04-23 20:58:14

Name me ONE Obama win where CNN or anybody else called it with a decimal point. That should be less work.

No it is because ALL races are called to the WHOLE number.

I don’t want belabor this point, but is it common practice to round up?

Also, as I said, the 10 point number is what the major news outlets were reporting last night.

My way of looking at this, I’ll use the 9.2 number if it makes him happy and as you said, she kicked his butt anyway.

Get a grip son, your whining, unqualified, terrorist loving, America hating wuss of a candidate got his ass handed to him.

So many questions and Obama keeps hiding!

When did Obama really meet Ayers and Dohrn?

What sent Obama to NYC and Columbia U from Occidental in 1981?

What (or who) sent Obama to Chicago from NYC in 1985?

Was it really Rezko who got Michelle her promotion and double increase in pay, or was it all the trustees (Crown being chairman of trustees) and major donors of U of C hospital sitting on her husbands campaign?

Oh the list goes on and on people would like to know about Obama, the chanpion of transparency, who refuses to provide his schedules from pre-2005 and tax records to explain how he paid for his first home with such a large down-payment when he and Michelle were so deep in debt, then managed to provide hundreds of thousands in downpayments for his mansion when none of his book money had come in yet nor his condo had been sold yet or who would give a $1.3 million mortgage for a couple who’s prior 4 years earnings amounted to an average of less that $400 grand a year?

Oh the list is long Mr Transparency!

Comment by B-Rob | 2008-04-23 19:13:21

He may have spent some of Rezko’s money on buying a black helicopter! Check into that!

I pointed out to you before B-rob about the black helicopter reference when you used it against Patrick Henry:

Patrick Henry is making a valid observation. You can feel free to disagree with his observation of course.

I find it troubling you are implying he should be institutionalized. I understand the use of humor and sarcasm, but I don’t think you were just trying to be humorous. Feel free to explain how I am wrong if you disagree with my assessment.

Mel is making valid observations, ones I will add the Republicans will exploit to the max in the fall against Obama, assuming he gets the nomination. Have you seen the video the Republicans are already test marketing?

This blog is a cake-walk compared to what the Rovians will dish out.

Thanks!

In order to prove he is a viable candidate, Sen. Obama must win NC by 30 points.

On the NC debate, why not let Clinton and McCain debate?

Comment by B-Rob | 2008-04-23 19:06:55

Why would McCain want to debate the person who will not be the nominee? He might as well debate Mike Gravel, at this point! Neither one of them has a snowball’s chance in hell of getting the nomination!

Comment by Garlic-Nosed Guitarist | 2008-04-23 20:36:19

Hello,

I vehemently and totally disagree (with the Hillary part). Hillary can win if the nomination if the delegates choose her. Yes, I understand many people will be upset under such circumstances — but it is within the party rules. And there is always the wild card possibility that some other scandal worse than any of the others comes out. We probably disagree on the definition of an Obama scandal, but I think you see my point, or at least understand my position. I understand yours.

You imply this contest is over. I disagree, as does Hillary too! :)

Comment by Melissa | 2008-04-23 21:12:07

Not a wild card. I would bet the farm on there being lots more skeletons in Obama’s closet that the media is keeping under wraps.

Comment by Garlic-Nosed Guitarist | 2008-04-23 21:19:17

I agree, but they are not facts in evidence. :)

But I do agree in theory, yeppers.

Time is Obama’s worst enemy, Hillary does not have to drop out, she has cash and Obama can’t get the magic number of delegates to shut her out.

Something will probably spring out. People can’t keep secrets, its basic human nature.

All the troll whining is just noise and a distraction. We should stick to: Obama is unelectable and the delegates will decide this. Period. KISS principle! (keep it simple, stupid) :)

In order to prove he is a viable candidate, Sen. Obama must win NC by 30 points.

If the winning candidate has to win by a certain margin to “prove” he is a viable candidate, then what does the losing candidate have to do to prove she is viable? And if he is not viable and she can’t beat him, what does that make her? Double non-viable? Or have these questions already been answered?

Comment by Garlic-Nosed Guitarist | 2008-04-23 18:57:41

There is one topic I would like someone to explore if they would. Sen. Obama hangs his hat on unity and “getting along” I personally don’t want to get along. Getting along has only gotten us into this horrible mess we are in. I don’t want a witch hunt but I do want criminal acts investigated and punished. Until Sen. Obama gives up his plan to make nice with the repubs I can’t and won’t support him.

This is my first post and maybe my last. I really enjoy coming here. Thanks.

Mr. Obama is Mr. Milquetoast. He is not just a snob, he is quite frankly a snot. And his toady minions reflect his absolute lack of class. We say, you have your own sites, leave ours. As you would ask an unwanted guest to leave your house. Instead of leaving they stay and jabber even more. They respect no one and nothing, just like Mr. Milquetoast. Their sense of entitlement is a disease that will rot them to their core. Personally, short of telling them to fuck off and throwing them out of your house, I don’t understand why you bother to talk to them. They are unwanted intruders with no redeeming qualities. Ignore them, and discuss what you want. If you would like I can once in a while post hate filled invective ranting at all of us who are here. I could state at the beginning of such blog entries that I am a Clinton supporter just turning the whining turd Obamites into background noise. I, and everyone here, knows their stupid comments by heart, anyway. Why don’t we just dilute them out by co-opting their comments.
Example: Hey, it’s just me again. I’m writing the Obama troll line so you don’t have to hear it from them…”$#@$#% blah, blah, blah… “

Comment by B-Rob | 2008-04-23 19:41:25

And your candidate can’t beat a milquetoast. What does that say about her? Scoreboard!

Comment by Garlic-Nosed Guitarist | 2008-04-23 20:29:49

Hello,

Can’t beat in which way? She just beat him.

And it depends how one defines a scoreboard. On the electoral scoreboard she is way ahead. I think I understand which scoreboard(s?) you imply, but that is only one consideration to the delegates.

We’ll see what happens at the convention. I am urging Hillary to do whatever it takes within the rules to defeat Obama, and you are obviously free not to like that B-Rob. :) I think he would be a disaster for America, but that’s just my opinion. And I respect yours.

Ciao

I know Scott already has the Hillary writein site ready just in case. I am not going to stop. NQ is not going to stop. None of us will stop. We will bust our ass to make sure this pig does not get elected. The numbers of hillary supporters who refuse to vote for him is growing and the polls reflect that every day. It’s going to be: Writein, Stay Home, or Vote for the Old Man. The swing states will not go for him and Florida and Michigan are only two of those. It’s over one way or another. He will NEVER be president.

Like most revelations about Sir Obama, I’m finding his ducking the press when they aggressively take him on to be very disturbing. Frankly, it’s a picture of a man not ready to be President, or even a Presidential candidate. Not talking to any reporter for 11 days, was it, before the PA primary? Avoiding questions he doesn’t like?

Does anyone anywhere really believe that this man can
1] withstand what the GOP is going to do to him and his [alleged] record if he’s the party’s nominee?
2] get anything—anything—done if somehow he’s elected President? The Republicans will slice him into little pieces, possibly worse than they tried to do with Pres. Clinton [since they've now had another 10 years of experience in pulling effective opponents off-message and off-target].

The way things stand now, he’ll go into a pout and whine from the Oval Office. What a picture that makes!

He performed so poorly at the last one, he can’t afford another.

He only likes it when he has a teleprompter or when he can direct what he can say.

How dare we question the great one. He only wants to be our President, after all.
