ACTION ALERT: Urgent / Call the DNC
By SusanUnPC on April 25, 2008 at 12:23 PM in Barack Obama, DNC, Democrats, Donna Brazile, Hillary Clinton, Howard Dean
UPDATE: Here’s a thought via a reliable source who heard Pat Caddell say this on Fox News on Tuesday night: “The Democratic nomination contest is a process, not a suicide pact.” Can we PLEASE nominate the most viable candidate who can win the big blue states?
Original: Via Heidi Li’s Potpourri blog, a highly disturbing report on which we must act:
Yesterday, at a strategy session I attended in Washington, DC, Clinton campaign director Terry McAuliffe alerted those present that two superdelegates from Florida had filed a formal complaint with Party’s rules committee board, which is refusing to count them. Regardless of the status of the seating of the Florida delegation, it is a violation of DNC rules to refuse to seat the Florida’s superdelegates (superdelegates are not chosen by primary). Guess what Howard Dean is doing? Refusing to refer the complaint to the rules committee. Terry urged everybody in the room and everybody we know to contact the DNC and specifically ask that the RCB address the complaint filed by the two Florida delegates. The telephone number for the D.N.C. is 202-863-8000. Call and simply say that you want to make sure that the Party’s rules committee addresses the Florida superdelegates’ recently filed complaint immediately.
Phone calls are the preferred method of contact because they get the most attention, but I did post a comment with Howard Dean’s email address.
THERE IS ALSO THIS collusion between Howard Dean and the Obama campaign, via Halperin’s Time blog: “Obama-DNC Fundraising Deal.” “Democratic sources tell The Page the Land of Lincolner and DNC plan to file a joint fundraising agreement soon that will allow donors to give simultaneously to his campaign and the national party. …“ MORE BELOW.
After a series of discussions, the Obama campaign and the Democratic National Committee have decided to file papers with the Federal Election Commission establishing a “joint fundraising agreement.” Under the law, such a committee can accept up to $28,500 from individuals, most of which would go to the DNC.
Presumptive Republican nominee John McCain has already formed such an alliance with the Republican National Committee. Their group — called Victory — was created in March after McCain clinched the GOP nomination and is headed by McCain adviser Carly Fiorina.
Sources say the DNC has also held talks with Hillary Clinton’s campaign about forming a separate vehicle with her, but that no deal has been struck. …
READ ALL: “Obama-DNC Fundraising Deal.”
We’ve written here numerous times about how Howard Dean is actively trying to ensure that Barack Obama is the nominee. Most recently, Lanny Davis accused Howard Dean of behind-the-scenes negotiations to cancel the scheduled debate in North Carolina on April 27th. While Lanny couldn’t say everything he thought, it was very clear he feels that Chairman Dean was behind the cancellation as well as Obama’s refusal to debate Hillary Clinton anymore.
Here’s that video if you missed it the first time:
And here are more essential stories here at NoQuarter for you to read about what is going on with the DNC and any prospect for debates in upcoming primary states.

Thanks for the tip I will call.
Ok. I called the DNC with my complaints; they said that Hillary could also enter into this fundraising agreement deal but has opted not to. They said that they are neutral. O course, I responded that because of FL and MI, the media bias and the DNC position, I could not vote for Obama in the General. Please comment.
I’ve done the same.
Hi, I am new here. I discovered you last night and I can’t thank you enough!!!
I am so frustrated with this whole mess. It has been obvious for some time that the powers that be wanted only one result, regardless of what the voters want. I don’t get to vote until May 20, but I can assure whoever is listening in this messed up process that it will be for Hillary. I cannot, and will not, support Obama. I just can’t do it.
Greetings everyone! I was appalled to hear about Dean’s possible involvement to blocking the Florida superdelegate complaint… so I called the DNC, and I got pushed to an overflowed voicemail system that wouldn’t let me leave a message… so I went back to the operator and told her so… she passed me to yet another overflowed box… so I went back to her again, she put me on hold, then the line went dead. I called immediately back and was put on hold and my call was aborted without being forwarded. I hung up and read more posts on this blog until I came across ‘Marytunes’ comment and liked the language. I called the DNC back and the same administrator answers, so I jump all over her for “shunting” my call and deliberately filtering out my opinion regarding an important public policy issue. Then I demanded to know whether or not a live DNC person actually works on a Friday afternoon to physically talk to citizens. I was immediately put through to a more senior-level person to whom I ranted about the treatment of communication, AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, my concern over Dean’s involvment.
The more senior-level person said she didn’t know where this rumor was originating from and the DNC was being overwhelmed with calls. I directly asked if Dean was blocking the vote… she said no and that he was looking for a date to hold it. I asked WHEN EXACTLY that would be… no real answer… nothing but hemming and hawing. With such an important deliverable in hand, I then asked whether we’re talking days, or next month, or anytime before the August convention… still nothing.
Therefore, my advice would be to push to get someone to talk to you and pin them down to an actionable event with a time dimension.
Glad I happened to check into this blog… sometimes you just gotta get pissed off into action.
Good luck!
End of Youtube Video Proves Obama In Church For Hate Speech
——————————————————————————–
Go to the end of the Youtube tape and hear Obama’s words from his book, “Dreams of My Father,” and Pastor Wright’s hate speech on Hiroshima and Sharpsville on the video. It is proof that he was there during the Wright hate speech!!
Obama says, while the boys seated next to him, “were doodling in their church bulletin” Reverend Wright spoke on Sharpsville and Hiroshima!”
This is proof he was there during Pastor Wright’s hate speeches! Obama lied!!!

What would it sound like if John McCain said something like: “A typical black person harbors resentment against whites, sometimes unexplained.” You bet the media would be all over it and his campaign would be finished…
The double standard you point out resonates with most people and the Republicans will have a field day with it in the GE.
Interesting. In the first minute or so, he mentions his “bitter laughter.” Hey, I have that, too! When I think of all you’ve put this country through, and for nothing. Well, not for nothing. You have single-handedly galvanized millions to work to get the best candidate since her husband was running the country into office. And you definitely have millions of people thinking, “Anybody but Barack!”
Calling that number and mentioning the Florida superdelegates gets you shunted IMMEDIATELY to another staffer’s voicemail — cell number I believe. No conversation. That is it. So I left a message with my phone number and email and asked for a response to the issue.
Keep trying. And if you don’t get through email them.
how about sending a registered letter. i am!
Rev- what is the email address- I have plenty to tell them- starting with the Chicago Police Department opening an investigation on April 23, 2008. This will surely destroy our party- we must have Hillary as the front runner- because the damaging scandal will be played over and over again. Howard liberal Dean doesn’t think these things are going to stop us from getting the nomination- but he is so wrong. Please give us the email- we are 10,000 bloggers. I don’t see the email address on this blog.
When you do please be sure to tell then you won’t donate to them anymore!!! That’s the only thing they really care about…
This is stinkin up to heaven….Good post…Trinity United has a new DEFENDING THE FAITH blog up….Guess what they have prominently displayed….Videos of the vast CIA CONSPIRACY TO DESTROY AA WITH OFFICIAL US GOVT. ISSUE CRACK….the unity pipe is broken…..You can acess it through ABC…..I’m just sayin’
it’s not the gov’t fault the TUCC nitwits chose to SMOKE that crack. what a bunch of paranoid racist morons
Ehemmm…..FACISM needs a cause and a puppet to rally round…no ?
I just called and left a message on the “directed” phone line…I stated my concerned and asked for a call back verifying that they did receive my message and a response to my request…we’ll see what happens…….this DNC Party is a disgrace and I am no longer proud to be a member…
thanks a million for the tip! i am a longtime donor to the DNC and until that weasel dean gets kicked to the curb they’re not getting my money..

“Here’s a thought via a reliable source who heard Pat Caddell say this on Fox News on Tuesday night: ‘The Democratic nomination contest is a process, not a suicide pact.’”
Pat Caddell is a Democrat in name only. He actively opposed the Gore campaign during the 2000 recount, running to every camera he could find, calling himself “Democratic strategist”, praising the Bush position, and trashing Gore. He shouldn’t be listened to by anyone who considers themselves a Democrat.
If something is true pointing out who said it does not make it less true. I agree with the remark no matter who said it.
And I will listen to anyone I wish to and not who Jeff tells me I should or should not listen to.
“And I will listen to anyone I wish to and not who Jeff tells me I should or should not listen to.”
I’m just pointing out the man’s MO for the last 20 years of his career, which has been to pose as a Democrat in the media, and lecture the world about how awful Democrats are. It’s a good gig for a charlatan.
You did not address the fact you were engaging in shoot the messenger. And truth is still truth.
And next time you are “just pointing out” something make sure you won’t mind if what you are “just pointing out” “The Democratic nomination contest is a process, not a suicide pact.” is not something people might find as truth? Just saying.
Jeff, should I start the 20 minute clock if you don’t answer within 20 seconds?
I’ll reply to anyone making an actual point.
I did make a point and you are dodging it rather uncleverly I might add.
Jeff…( sigh ) your candidate the BABY-O has been trashing Gore for months…..
“Jeff…( sigh ) your candidate the BABY-O has been trashing Gore for months…..”
I’m sorry, when did Obama trash Gore? I do recall Sen. Clinton trashing him for seeming “elitist” about a week ago.
Since you are asking for a source from workingclass artist do you have a source for your comment?
“Since you are asking for a source from workingclass artist do you have a source for your comment?”
Here you go:
http://www.newyorksun.com/news/national/clinton-likens-obama-kerry-gore
Thank you but please show me where Clinton said Gore was elitist. She was warning Obama would be labeled elitist as has happened in the past to Gore and Kerry by the Republicans.
The article begins:
duh! he was veep in the clinton administration. he had a large powerful position. you do know that?
Still waiting for the quotes on Obama “trashing Gore”.
Wow, it’s been over 20 minutes, and no Obama quotes “trashing Gore”. That’s weird. Maybe your Internet connection is down? I work in I.T., I can help!
Or maybe you have the quotes ready, but you’re trapped under something heavy, and can’t reach your keyboard. Should I send help?
Still nothing. I’m shocked–SHOCKED!
It’s so odd that you would make a claim like that, and the moment you’re asked to substantiate it, you disappear.
It’s hard not to assume that you’ve adopted the deeply cynical tactic of saying the nastiest thing that comes to mind towards whomever you happen to disagree with, no matter how untrue or outrageous. Today it’s “Obama trashed Gore”, yesterday it was Obama’s a “fascist” and “Goebbels”, tomorrow it’ll likely be some sort of pedophilia accusation.
But I’ll resist the temptation, and go with my second guess, which is that you’re just trapped under something heavy.
Jeff, maybe workingclass artist is away from their computer and has a life outside of this blog like earning a living?
Not too bloody likely, I’d say.
Scorched earth? Honestly, where do they get this stuff? Also, dragging this out? Huh? She keeps winning, why the heck would she quit? Further, PA had some of the highest participation since this thing began, so people are engaged. They don’t see this as being dragged out.
I just called and had a nice little conversation with (I’m going to spell this phonetically) Cuh-tay. She said that what I was referring to, the complaints of the FL and MI delegations, had been referred to the Rules Committee. I had a feeling that she was dodging a more specific instance – the two delegates from Florida – and said that I thought we were talking about two different things.
Cough, Cough on Catay’s part.
She then said she was not familiar with the complaint, but that any challenge will be forwarded to the Credentials Committee. I asked when and she said dates and times have not been determined, probably in the next month or so.
She said the Credentials Committee meets after June 29th.
I emphasized to her that time was of the essence, and that it made sense to count the votes. She actually said something to the effect of, “Well, everybody doesn’t think so,” which sounded like she was referring to Camp BO. I said, “It makes sense to count the votes in a democracy, doesn’t it? If a group doesn’t want the votes counted, you know something is wrong.”
She actually seemed slightly sympathetic, not defensive at all, and said, “We’re doing everything we can, trying to work it out in the fairest way for everyone and resolve it. We don’t want anyone to feel like they got cheated.” She then said she wasn’t at the pay level to be privy to insider conversations. I probably should have asked to speak to the next pay level up at that point. Maybe next time!
It’s obvious that the choice has been made. Now the DNC has to figure out a way to make it look legitimate. How about we vote for Ron Paul? At least he believes in the Constitution.
Here is an email I sent to the FDP/DNC today. I am furious with my congressman (Wexler).
Miami Herald-Apr. 24
”As a Floridian it’s hard to stomach those that boycotted our election now telling us it was a totally legitimate election when there was no campaign, there was no contest, no get-out-the-vote effort, none of the things that make up a campaign,” said Obama’s Florida campaign chair Rep. Robert Wexler of Boca Raton.
All of the candidates were on the ballot. All of the candidates agreed not to campaign in Florida. Some of the candidates held private fundraisers in Florida.
I called Rep. Wexler’s DC office today (he is my congressman) and questioned the first part of the quote-”As a Floridian it’s hard to stomach those that boycotted our election now telling us it was a totally legitimate election…”. It is patently obvious that the pronoun “THOSE” refers to Sen. Clinton. It was made very clear to me when my concerns were challenged & dismissed, that his office is now operating as a full time campaign headquarters for Barack Obama.
Wexler has repeatedly avowed that he will work to ensure FL. votes would count towards the selection of our nominee. His statement in the Miami Herald implies that he has a conflict of interests, ie, his duty to the FL. voters he represents or to his candidate of choice.
Should Sen. Obama be nominated without counting FL. & MI. (without using voodoo math), I will campaign against him and join the movement to encourage voters to become Independents. As a lifelong democrat, I do not feel that I’ll be leaving the Party. The Party has left me. It no longer represents my core values or political beliefs.
“How about we vote for Ron Paul? At least he believes in the Constitution.”
Sorry, but where in the Constitution does it say Florida’s primary vote has to be counted, or their delegates seated?
jeff, we are the citizens of this country and we demand that our votes be counted. you don’t like, pack your gocart and move on.
reply to Pam of Florida..
I was a 2004 elected delegate for my county in 2004 in So.West Fla..
I belong to the Fla DEC..at our last DEC exec committee meetings ..there were not enough Executive voters to have a quorum vote!..
this is in a gerneral election year!!
In 2004 we quadrupled our membership in the DEC..this year..we do not have enough members to do a legal vote!
so Dean , Brazile, and Obama may have manipulated our nomination, but they have also destroyed the Dem party in Fla that many of us have worked our asses off to rebuild and poured a ton of money into..well i for one am not willing to rebuild it again..not today and not tommorrow..let them get the obamabots to put up the money and put endless hours into rebuilding..they won’t of course we all know it..hell we were always lucky if these kids just showed up to vote..and do not think that won’t be the case again..once school starts and the newest psrty gets announced.
But this is one lady who is finished with the Dem party..
i am conveniced now ..there is only one party with one big money pot in the middle..they don’t give a rats ass how much we work..or how much money we give them..or how many banners and how many nights we sit up clearing volunteers for the secret service or house the field reps for them..they don’t give a rats ass..
Howard dean should be fired immediately..this is his baby..and his other baby is Obama..this was planned and executed.
and i am now done with the dem party.
I am now running a campaign to send an embarrassing message to the DNC and the dem party in Nov..since we are the State of Disney World..and this election is all an illusion…my campaign is to write in Mickey Mouse..in november..to send a clear concise message to the dem party..that we will not allow them to do this to us ever again..and they will be held accountable..and if they do not count our vote for the nominee ..they will not get it in November!
fly
I called DNC again and refused a message said I wanted the chairman complaint line
a woman answered live and said charimans office
I said hello ginaswo lifetime dem here why hasnt chariman dean forwarded the two fla delagates complaint to the RBC yet, I have carefully looked at the rules and he is OBLIGATED to pass on the complaint
she assured me it WAS passed on and they are scheduling a public meeting to review the complaint
i said thank you and let her know very calmly very nicely I will not go quietly into that dark night and that pelosi comments and dean not working for mi fl make it very clear to all of us that they are doing something other than letting the people decide and that it is unacceptable
i said please please do not make me be a reagan dem i cannot support the party in anyway if they do not allow mi and fl to help choose the nominee
she said thank you
where will the meeting be and can we all go and make a visibilty for hilary and mi and fl there
i am sure sharpton and jackson jr and wilder will have their return to 68 crew there for warmup for denver
we need some mi fl supporters there too

I also talked a reasonably nice woman who seemed knowledgeable about what was going on. She assured me that the FL SD thing was being worked on. I am not convinced they will do what is right at the end which is to include the two states in the nominating process. They may seat the delegates eventually but that is not fair or legitimate if people’s choice is not reflected in the choice of the nominee. But we have to keep the pressure on them.

Emails to Howard Dean in response to a direct email from the DNC over his name requesting money. Basically, I’m suggesting that the DNC gets not one thin dime from me until they do the right thing. You are certaintly free to take similar actions or not, this is a democracy after all.

Hi, Howard,
I know you probably weren’t going to respond to my earlier email as the middle of the 2008 campaign is very busy and you are a very busy guy. But it occurred to me that perhaps I wasn’t explicit enough when I indicated I was looking for a satisfactory resolution to the question of seating the Florida and Michigan delegations. In particular, I want you to know that I will be looking for evidence that the decisions were made by the Rules and Bylaws committee pursuant to and in consideration of the DNC rules (2008 Delegate Selection Rules for the Democratic National Convention). To the extent that I find the process by which this is done to have been manipulative or in a manner which defeats the expressed desires of the Democratic voters of the states in question, you may rest assured that I will sit out the 2008 election as far as the DNC is concerned.
I will continue to support candidates of my choosing, but I will not provide any funds whatsoever to the DNC to use as it sees fit. As I mentioned earlier, I cannot tolerate any actions which I perceive to be anti-democratic and I will not reward those I believe to have been active participants in executing those actions. It’s a simple matter of trust. If you cannot be trusted to do the right thing, I cannot believe that your decisions regarding use of funds provided by me are worthy of my trust.
Again, I’m sorry to have to take this stance, but I find the reluctance on the DNCs part to promptly address the situation, and under your leadership, I might add, to be very distressing so far. I expect you to deal with the campaigns in an open and forthright manner and to make a decision which is in the party’s best interest, not necessarily in the interest of any particular candidate. The best decision right now would be to charge the Rules and Bylaws committee to take prompt and fair action.
Thanks for your attention,
Chuck

Hi, Howard,
Nice to hear from you again. You might wonder why I’ve not sent anything in response to your several request for funds, some of them urgent. I’m waiting. I’ll be happy to send you something as soon as the Florida and Michigan delegations are seated. Right now I’m committed to individual Congressional candidates I like (WA-08 looks like a good place) and to my current choice for the Democratic nomination and to support for my own legislative district organization. But I’m holding back something for the national party as well, and you can have it soon, just as soon as the DNC resolves the Michigan and Florida delegation questions satisfactorily. I understand you told David Bender the other day that it would be June. I sure hope so or even earlier because I would love to send you the money.
I sort of feel bad about not fulfilling and exceeding my pledge because I really want to replace the Republicans in the White House and elsewhere, but I have a little principle that’s just nagging at me. It’s that disenfranchising voters is such an evil, nasty Republican thing, I can’t tolerate it for any reason whatsoever, especially in my own party.
Sorry about this, it’s the principle of the thing. I hope to hear again from you soon, and I hope it’s good news about the Michigan and Florida delegations.
Chuck
I called only to be told that they were “taking numbers.” Whatever that means????
Coward Dean come out wherever you are!
FL and MI should be seated and NOT on the 50/50 split. I believe that there is much more to unfold before our eyes. Better now than November.
Bit OT
Does anyone think that Pelosi might be angling for Obamas VP spot?
It crossed my mind.
Stop calling.
It would really help bloggers’ credibility if they took a moment to confirm information before going off half-cocked. The only reason you believe Terry McA. is because he’s on Hillary’s campaign. It’s an old reporter’s truism: If your mother says she loves you, check it out.
The Rules Committee will meet on May 31st to take up the challenges. The DNC has been negotiating with both campaigns for months over a joint fundraising agreement. If the Clinton Campaign opted not to enter into an agreement, don’t shoot the DNC over it. Call the Clinton campaign and ask them why they opted not to enter into an agreement.
If you want to get your panties in a bunch, don’t let me stop you but get your facts in order first.
it appears your panties are in a bunch, dearie. why don’t take a deep breath and say hillary is the answer, yes she is.
I don’t know about you- But I am from Florida and I voted for “someone” and that “someone” is not getting my vote according to the DNC. She deserves my vote- and as for the comment about panties- only idiots would make comments like that – and only stupid men would stoop down to say it- either you are a strong lesbian woman or just a male chuz pig man. Or you are just someone who just don’t understand the importance of a vote- if I scolded the wrong person on this blog- than forgive me.
If you want trolls to go away just don’t respond to them. I heard trolls get paid by how many responses they receive.
“If you want trolls to go away just don’t respond to them. I heard trolls get paid by how many responses they receive.”
You probably have also given a lot of money away to Nigerian royalty…
jeff, stfu!
I called the DNC and spoke with Dean’s assisstant and he said Dean did not stop the Fl super delegates complaints from moving forward, he also said no that isn’t true. So I told him I read the rules and the rules committee went above and beyond what was required by the rule in taking away 100% of the delegates and stripping the super delegates when the rules say they are not to be penalized, and I told him I would be leaving the party if this isn’t resolved fairly and that I would not be part of any party that disenfrachises people their right to vote. I am REALLY happy to hear they are being overwhelmed in calls, I hope more Hillary supporters and Democrats will stand up and speak out.
Ed Schultz threw Fl under the Bus, it will go GOP anyway. Nice on LKL last night CNN.
I saw that. Isn’t Shultz a creep? Shultz just came off like a huge bully trying to plant disinformation and shut down any dissenting voices by talking over them in a loud voice.

MI, FL hearings May 31
The DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee will meet on May 31 to consider appeals from Michigan and Florida, Marc reports.
The challenges — from Michigan DNC member Joel Feguson and Florida DNC member Jon Ausman — ask that the DNC seat all of the rogue states’ superdelegates and at least half of their pledged delegates.

If you call when the switch board is down and go to the chairman’s message box it is full.
but… when you get the option for directory, choose it and then punch in 22 or 32 and you will get a recording of people with names that begin with those letters and the last option will be Howard Dean’s machine and that contact to Dean accepts messages.
