i have no problem with having a group of professors who are different and challenge people to think about things. i encourage it in fact. that's what college was for me and i cherish the memory. i thought of myself as young and hip. but as simon writes, this blowing up of buildings and people up just because you don't agree is wrong, period. and anyone who did it and brags about it today needs to get their duff canned. now ayers's dad had some power and money and helped secure both his son and wife their jobs.

Played that tune for ever as an up and coming basement band. My friends mom would flick the light switch on and off...

Ever since the death of FDR, with a few exceptions, we have had real problems finding a candidate who can get more electoral votes than the other guy. I don't know how often the lemmings go over the cliff, but we manage it every four years. We can either continue to blame Rove or find better candidates. We should consider Nobody for President. It wouldn't be much worse than where we are now. Or find a woman who is half black, half white, half hispanic and half Jewish. Helen Keller would have made a great candidate. A real hands on president.

Most liberals used to think Krugman was one of the best. Then he dared to not favor the anointed one and now he is a favorite of the Obamacrats no more. :(

But so many of us are not wanted, or needed any more. Low-information voters. Out! Old white women. Out! Blue Collar workers. Out! And many more that I haven't addressed but can all easily come under the heading of "those who do not support the One".

Not gonna be much of a party when they get done kicking everybody out. But maybe they'll make up for it with really great snacks.

Ah, TK, you are an individual of Taste and Discernment.

I used, "Low Spark," as my Bumper Music when I did a local radio talk show about 6,000 years ago, mostly because Station Management wouldn't allow, "Sympathy for the Devil."

Health care and the economy, that's what it's all about for those that are getting sick and dying because they can't get jobs that give them what they need to survive.

Purdy words don't cut it. A full health care plan, not half of one, is what we need.

Regarding payoffs, I yesterday saw that since 2005 Obama has given 750,000 dollars to Superdelegates compared to 250,000 for Clinton.

Obama talks about "backroom deals" . sick

Susan:

I'm LOL -- literally -- at your first two sentences. Very funny.

Paul Krugman remains logical, rational, and as even-handed as he's always been. It is a relief to read his op-eds, which are common sense at its finest.

And at this point, he's one of the ONLY opinion/editorial writers at the NYT that I can still read!

Thanks for giving Mr. Krugman some much-deserved kudos and credit for doing such a fine job.

Now that’s just plain crazy talk.

I am the Ghost of Obama Present. It is time, Kevin.

While we are on the subject of crazy talk, I thought I might take the opportunity to ask you what you want in a candidate. Lets just put all the candidates back in the closet for the time being so they won't clutter the place.

Look at the current state of human endeavor in this country;two wars;depressed economy;health care for profit;energy and environment degraded; our constitution; shattered in a million easy pieces.

It will take a generation to reverse the damage done by the current administration and the first question asked by someone with no experience and on the first day at 1600, is "Who am I going to call, before you get the call."

Someone with experience will handle adversity differently. Keep in mind, need I remind you,we have shots fired in the gulf, Israel taking out a site in Syria that allegedly was built with the assistance of North Koreans, the Russians and Chinese invested in Iran, "food shortages" worldwide, the IMF and World Bank indicating they will put more M1 in to the system, 4 dollar a gallon gas.

In a time when we have been told, as a nation, not to sacrifice, while our family members are shipped to foriegn lands at great cost to the fabric of this nation. Shall we offer our liberty to this lie?

Our men and women serving in the military are being held up from returning home because ATA went bankrupt. Is that ANY way to treat a fellow American, let alone one who is serving this country?

This is the present, Kevin...but it is not time to leave just yet.

However you wan to spin it, 2.3 million people's votes will not be counted.
People in Wisconson are have their power turned off at a rate of six hundred a day.
250,000 jobs have dissapeared making 40 dollars and a mule sounding better every day, regardless of color a person is...

Before I return you to the comfort of your familar surroundings, I would ask you a question.

Would you rather, as BO says, "tell people what they want to hear" or "what they need to hear"?

Or would you like many people choose niether? Instead, looking at the state of affairs, concluding it requires ADULTS, that have arrived at this point in time to lead, having gained this position through hard work and positive contributions to the nation.

Which is it?

Our men and women serving in the military are being held up from returning home because ATA went bankrupt. Is that ANY way to treat a fellow American, let alone one who is serving this country?

This is the present, Kevin…but it is not time to leave just yet.

However you wan to spin it, 2.3 million people’s votes will not be counted.
People in Wisconson are have their power turned off at a rate of six hundred a day.
250,000 jobs have dissapeared making 40 dollars and a mule sounding better every day, regardless of color a person is…

Before I return you to the comfort of your familar surroundings, I would ask you a question.

Would you rather, as BO says, “tell people what they want to hear” or “what they need to hear”?

Or would you like many people choose niether? Instead, looking at the state of affairs, concluding it requires ADULTS, that have arrived at this point in time to lead, having gained this position through hard work and positive contributions to the nation.

Which is it?
