Jeremiah Wright Can’t Be Explained Away, and the American People KNOW What’s Wrong
By SusanUnPC on May 2, 2008 at 12:51 PM in Barack Obama, DNC, Democrats, Hillary Clinton, Indiana, Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr.
The numbers are devastating for Obama, and it’s clear that a fatigued Obama — deep down inside — knows it too, even as he portrays himself and his wife as ever the victims who somehow made it anyway:
Barack Obama was showing signs of campaign fatigue. Sitting on a picnic bench in a park on Pagoda Street, Indianapolis, in discussion with a group of 30 supporters, he told a story about the “modest” background of himself and his wife, Michelle. And 10 minutes later, seemingly having forgotten, he told them it all again. (The Guardian, UK, May 2, 2008)
Look at the results of this Rasmussen Reports poll — which was already clear to all of us here at NoQuarter (see “The Game of Expedience“). OBAMA may think he’s the victim of Wright, but the American people know better:
A Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that just 30% of the nation’s Likely Voters believe Barack Obama denounced his former Pastor, Jeremiah Wright, because he was outraged. Most—58%–say he denounced the Pastor for political convenience. The survey was conducted on Wednesday and Thursday night. Obama made his statements about Wright on Tuesday.
… Only 33% of voters believe that Obama was surprised by the views Wright expressed at Monday’s press conference. Fifty-two percent (52%) say he was not surprised. …
Fifty-six percent (56%) say it’s at least somewhat likely that Obama “shares some of Pastor Wright’s controversial views about the United States.” That figure includes 26% who say it’s Very Likely Obama holds such views. At the other end of the spectrum 24% say it’s Not Very Likely that Obama shares such views. Just 11% say it’s Not at All Likely.
Just 7% of the nation’s voters agree with Wright’s views of the United States. African-American voters, by a 64% to 12% margin, disagree with Wright. Eighty-one percent (81%) of all voters are following the story somewhat or very closely. …
The American people GET IT. Of course, they see through the gauzy, forlorn, grim explanations from Obama. Obama gets it too.
From my story, “A ‘Bored’ Obama Is Distracted and Not Listening“:
[An] article in the New York Times, “Eyes on Blue-Collar Voters, Obama Shifts Style,” … revealed, according to “interviews with several associates and aides,” that “Mr. Obama was described as bored with the campaign against Mrs. Clinton.” Even Maureen Dowd has noticed that Mr. Obama has lost his “fizz.” While Hillary Clinton is more “more energetic and focused and beaming,” Ms. Dowd writes, Obama is “uneven and gauzy, often fatigued … [and even] his speeches don’t have the same pizazz.” Hillary Clinton is “bristling with life force,” while Obama “looks like he wants to run away somewhere for three months by himself and smoke.”
Obama-supporter Mayhill Fowler, writing for Huffington Post described the drained, unfocused, distracted Obama — in clear contrast to an energized, smart, policy-focused Hillary Clinton:
[...]
Did Senator Obama know to whom he was speaking? Likely not. That’s been his problem lately on the campaign trail–not knowing exactly where he was. He even made a joke about it in Hickory when he tried to recall where he had just met someone whose story he wanted to tell. “We were down in–where were we?” Quickly he came up with Winston-Salem, and everybody laughed. Monday in Wilmington, however, not only did he seem not to know Wilmington but the date and time, saying that it was “March” and “nine months to November.” The fact that his audiences are largely composed of die-hard fervent loyalists usually masks this underlying dis-connection.
But it’s worth noting that Senator Clinton always knows exactly where she is and to whom she is speaking. On Sunday in Wilmington, for example, her opening remarks touched in quick succession on several important things about the town: the glorious setting on the Cape Fear River, its connection to the military, the upcoming commissioning of the new submarine North Carolina there next weekend, and the fact that “this country has been very good to me and to many of you,” for people who are lucky enough to live in Wilmington are lucky indeed.
Hickory itself got short shrift. Indeed many of the people at the Obama town hall meeting weren’t from Hickory at all. Non-Carolinians from retirement communities around Asheville had driven over. As for the Tar Heelers themselves, they came, despite gas prices, from “three counties away.” …
[...]
Getting the nuances and particularities of a community just right [when his] life is in the campaign bubble. Not only do Senator Obama and his press entourage never really see towns like Hickory but they don’t see the opposition first-hand, as well. Therefore, Senator Obama has no idea that, despite whatever her campaign may be up to, Senator Clinton hardly ever mentions him anymore. Despite his remark to Hickory that he’s told his staff the campaign needs to get away from going negative, Senator Obama laid into Senator Clinton, … several times during the afternoon. At one point he said, “Lately the other candidates aren’t talking about their ideas–they’re talking about me.”
As far as Senator Clinton is concerned, nothing could be further from the truth. She presents more ideas on the stump than she has time for. This misrepresentation incensed a group of women friends in Hickory. They had seen Hillary Clinton several times in North Carolina and had come to hear Barack Obama before finally making up their minds. Scratch twelve votes for him.
“Don’t hit on Hillary.” Only the day before the Hickory event, Jean Weiss, a feisty eighty-two year-old, told Obama, when he called on her, thinking he would get a question, just that. Age admonishing youth, it was a powerful moment that the crowd much appreciated. That Senator Obama seemed to have forgotten Weiss only a day later may be a sign only of Wright-driven stress.
Often on the campaign trail, however, despite his frequent comment that as President he will listen to the American people, Barack Obama seems to hear only what he wants to hear. Given the mass adulation with which he is received now, audiences don’t seem to perceive Obama’s selective detachment. If Obama is the next President of the United States, however, the mainstream media as well as bloggers will be busy documenting the various scenes in which this dynamic manifests itself.
And, I repeat: This is the writing of a woman who is a supporter of Barack Obama.

Also from that Guardian article:
Tiredness is the least of Obama’s problems. After a relatively smooth and well-planned march towards the Oval Office, his campaign is facing its greatest crisis. “He is in the middle of a shit storm,” one of the journalists travelling with him said.
Race, as an issue, is now more potent and dangerous than at any other stage in the campaign. Public utterances since the weekend by his former Chicago pastor, the Reverend Jeremiah Wright - including a claim that the US government developed the Aids virus to infect black people - have called into question Obama’s judgment.
Obama, having failed to renounce Wright in a speech in Philadelphia in March, finally cut ties with his former mentor on Tuesday but it may be too late for next week’s Indiana primary. …
As the Rasmussen polling shows, it IS too late. And the American people — no matter what the fools in the DNC may decide — will NOT forget this saga, and the racist, anti-American remarks by his 20-year pastor that Barack Obama failed to denounce immediately, let alone soon enough — like 19 years ago when he should have gotten up and WALKED OUT of that church.

Here’s what gets me… this is an excerpt from the UK Guardian article linked above:
“The Clinton campaign has succeeded in boxing him in as the black candidate, rather than one who transcends race, as he prefers to see himself. The Clinton camp denies adopting the tactic though it has been apparent since January.”
Really? How has the Clinton camp been able to do that? Was Rev. Wright part of “their tactic”? Or, was it when Barry vented about all those rotten Pa. voters and their fears, or when his wife said for once she could finally be proud of America, or when the MSM finally got off their collective duff and starting asking questions beyond ponies and Kumbaya about Rezko and Ayers and where do his contributions really come from?
Where does The Guardian get off making an accusation like that not backing it up with, “like the time the Clinton camp did….(whatever)”
Journalists can often be a lazy bunch: they latch on to oft-quoted or oft-stated phrases or narratives, and rarely trouble themselves to fully examine the source of these phrases or narratives…it takes too long and they’re on deadline. It’s infuriating to catch this in a Guardian article. You’d think they’d bring a more nuanced, clear-minded approach.
The one who boxed Obama in as a “black” candidate is Obama. Not Clinton.
The problem with any statement like that is the implication that being Black is a bad thing. Obama can’t be anything other than who he is. Anyone who looks at TV, reads a newspaper, surfs the blogs etc can see that Obama is a Black man. Why are the media and Obama himself trying so hard to distance himself from that fact? If Obama was truly trying to ‘transcend’ race, in his ‘great speech on race’ he would have eloquently pointed out this fact.
Ehemmm…….Obama is officially 1/2 Cracker…..He has a problem wth it….Pastor Wright thought he could expunge it….Barry is so full of unresolved identity problems and it is playing out in public like a third rate soap opera….
LuigiDaMan,
So glad you pointed this out. Barack got captured by his own game. The intent of malice by journalists toward Hillary and Bill Clinton is worhty of deep probing and investigation. I have researched every alleged claim of racism on their part during this campaign and each time Obama, Michelle and their campaign’s hand are in the pot.
Disgraceful perpetuating this lie!

These numbers should be alarming to Dem leaders. What will happen to those Super delegates who rush to support such a man? When the people turn on Obama, what’s to stop them from turning on his enablers? What a mess.
Sounds like brain fog. Which can be caused by anxiety, not enough sleep, etc. In other words, he’s not on his game. Looks like he’s a sprinter, not a marathon runner.
realclear politics averages has hillary ahead by 6 points in indiana and 7 behind in north carolina. wright gate is hurting him. if hillary can keep north carolina within single digits i would love it.
He looks terrible - physically worn down.
He does look like ten miles of bad road. Not a sign of an unflappable leader.
So true!
We can’t afford a victim/whiner in the White House at such a critical time. His low energy, in my opinion, stems from self-pity. Okay sure it is very difficult to campaign for so long in such a diverse nation, but his opponent is older than he is and isn’t complaining.
We know another whiner (Bush). And how many times has he complained about how “hard” it is to be POTUS.
A leader is supposed to LEAD, not whine! How can whining inspire anyone?
Hillary, on the other hand, looks absolutely chipper. I’ll bet that just pisses him off to no end. He’s dragging around whining about how loooonnnnggg this is going on. She’s cheerful and knows where she is, what day it is, and all the answers to all the questions.
He is dying to get this over with. She is thriving on the challenge.
Yes, and she’s going 18+ hours a day. Doubt he’s working that hard, but probably is putting in long hours too. Yet she can handle the PRESSURE and HECTIC schedule far better than he.
Obama made a fatal mistake in Philadelphia. Instead of denouncing Wright he lectured Americans about racism — but the issue wasn’t white racism on THAT day. It was Wright’s racism against whites — and Obama’s conflating of the two sent the message that black racism was acceptable or at least understandable. White racism is a real issue, but we can’t confront racism by whites if we equivocate about black racism. But it’s the Ivy Tower, moral equivalency attitude of some neo-liberals who keep losing us elections.
Very astute Bud……..Good Post Susan……I hope he just drops out…….
( Perhaps a nervous breakdown is in store )
Meanwhile Clinton continues to run circles around him and she’s at least 15 yrs. older……
Well said Bud!
Gotta love the Brits. They have mainstream papers that actually publish the term “shit storm”. Our editors would swoon.
Check out this article about the strained relationship between Obama and Wright.
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/05/01/us/politics/01wright.html?_r=2&sq=powell&st=nyt&oref=slogin&scp=4&pagewanted=print
A few things jumped out at me. First, Wright was gracious enough to offer to call Otis Moss to replace him at Obama’s swearing in but Obama had already asked Moss before talking to Wright! What No wonder Wright was mad. Great way to treat a beloved uncle. But then again, Obama doesn’t even mind trashing his granny. Second, Wright blamed Axelrod, not the saintly Obama. And third “As Mr. Obama told close friends after watching the replay, he felt dumbfounded, even betrayed, particularly by Mr. Wright’s implication that Mr. Obama was being hypocritical. He could not tolerate that.”
Just as I suspected, Obama was not disturbed by any of Wright’s remarks - not the crazy conspiracy theories, not the insults to America and to white people (who can’t even clap to a beat), not to his message of anger and victimization which is deeply destructive to his parishioners. No, Obama only got mad when Wright insulted him personally by implying he was a hypocrite.
Obama is a self-involved, navel-gazing narcissist. God help us if he is our nominee.
Forgot to add, how is being the son of a woman with a PhD and a grandmother who was the vice president of the largest bank in Hawaii and being able to attend the most elite private school in your state for middle and high school “modest”? Hillary did not attend a tony school like that and did not live in the home of a bank executive.
What a phoney!!
Yeah this gets to me. He Mother was Not a “single” Mother. She was twice divorced. By the time she ended her second marriage he was living with his white Grandparents who were married and lived a middle class life.
And, twice, she married men who were not particularly, um, good marriage material. Both were alcoholics. Obama Sr. abandoned them.
Just like Obama’s supporters will abandon him.
He has not done his personal homework on this point and it will bite him in the arse very soon.
Not to worry. McCaskill said the SDs support Mr. Hope. It won’t matter how bad he is, how bad he looks, how bad he polls, how many Primaries he loses or how many shady characters he hangs with….they have his back. He will be appointed by SDs ONLY because they fear riots.
If Hillary wins Indiana, NC (or comes within single digits), Oregon (she’s within 6% now), WV, KY and PR……what will the SDs do? Will they still support the LOSER? According to McCaskill, it’s already a done deal. Really! What will they do? Do they want to win or lose in November?
I’m an Oregonian, and I think that if Hill and Bill and Chelsea really work this state that they can win it. I’m often amused that so many people think we are a bunch of elitist latte drinkers. Nothing could be further from the truth! An awful lot of this state is blue collar workers and small town America - the very people Obama continues to insult. The places that Obama targets are Portland and Eugene, where the universities are. But that’s not all there is to Oregon. If Hillary employs her usual ground game here, I feel she can win it.
Go K Falls…!
I call bullshit on the Democratic Party being scared of AAs rioting. Since when has that motivated them to do something?
This is purely about bringing the Clintons down!
Even if they have to lose to do it! They are gambling that this is it for her and that in 4 years she won’t want to bother.
I don’t care. I made my decision and this is the last time they sucker me. I’m done with the Dems. They can kiss my AA ass!
Rove I think it was said it perfectly yesterday:
Democrats have a knack of gathering together, singing Kumbya together, then walking over a cliff together!
What has been proven in the past 4 months, is that only one candidate has the mental fortitude and ability with the most reasonable of plans to get the country out of the perils it is in and yet Democrats relying on cross over Republican votes and enthusiasm for a preacher of dreams with no ability is going to be the Weather Underground distruction of the Democratic Party!
ROFL! It’s the truth. This is not the first time I have witnessed this self-fulfilled prophecy of failure in the party.
Was it Woody Allan who said he learned from his mistakes; he learned to repeat every one of them over again exactly?
I’ve been amused at how hard Rove and Gingrich have had to work not to overtly show their admiration of Hillary on the air. It’s there every time they talk about her.
Buchanan doesn’t even try to hide his admiration any more and I know she’s won over Bill O’Reilly. He doesn’t agree with 80% of what she stands for, but he is impressed by our girl Hillary.
It’s called Respect. All real leaders garner it.
I would say that Obama couldn’t lead lemmings over a cliff … except for that is exactly what he is doing.
Howard Dean will go down in history as the George Armstrong Custer of the Democratic Party.
No that was originally assigned to the leader of the party during McGovern ‘72. But Howard must admire him.
Sorry, but I must insist Howard get the title. The McGovern ‘72 guy is less deserving since he was backing someone who was not only a real Democrat but was actually proud of the name. Obama is 0-2 on those points.
Don’t forget, Jeremiah Wright would describe George McGovern as a terrorist for winning the Distinguished Flying Cross as a bomber pilot in WWII fighting Facism.
Ok I concede.
As readers access Obama’s autobiography, and take a second look at Gregory’s original quotes (1,2), and scan his most recent (which I assume he will continue working on) updates (even assuming Dreams From My Father is a forgery in some sense) two conclusions are inevitable:
It will become clear, that Obama shares and identifies with significant parts of Wright’s Nationalist Black Ideology. An ideology lacing Obama’s Value System and Political Message. Second conclusion is that Obama
Knew Perfectly Well, exactly the same Jeremiah Wright he saw on Monday. He knew this specific Jeremiah for 23 years of his life!
Obama’s political coffin is open and waiting for him. The nails are scattered on the floor, and the hammer is ready. Wright will speak, and the whispers which we are hearing, will close the lid on this Political Fairytale.
The whispers:
[begin quote:]But some longtime Wright supporters said Wright’s in-your-face appearance at the National Press Club was no different from what parishioners regularly experienced in church.
“What you saw is what we saw every single week,” said Brenda McGadney-Douglass, an associate professor at the University of Toledo who attended Wright’s Monday appearance and was baptized by him. “This is exactly the way things go in our church.” [:end quote] [source: Time]
And this, from The New York Post, via Sweetness & Light:
“After 20 years of loving Barack like he was a member of his own family, for Jeremiah to see Barack saying over and over that he didn’t know about Jeremiah’s views during those years, that he wasn’t familiar with what Jeremiah had said, that he may have missed church on this day or that and didn’t hear what Jeremiah said, this is seen by Jeremiah as nonsense and betrayal,” [post]
“Jeremiah doesn’t care if he derails Obama’s candidacy or not . . . He knows what he’s doing. Obviously, he’s not a dumb man. He knows he’s not helping.” [post]
Wright has said the reason he has begun granting interviews and making public appearances now is that he wants to defend black churches. [post]
“Rev. Wright, as well as other senior members of his church, believe that Obama has betrayed over 20 years of their supposed friendship.” [post]
The source added, “After 20 years of loving Barack like he is one of their own, after he was embraced by this congregation as a brother in Christ, after his pastor was a father figure to him and gave him credibility in a city he had not grown up in and in a black community that was suspect of someone from Hawaii and Harvard, he thanks him by not allowing him to speak publicly at his announcement last year? [post]
“A lot of people in the church believe they were there for this man when no one else was, and a lot of people don’t believe it any more when Obama claims he loves the man who did so much for him,” the source added. [post]

I bet Wright is soon going to drop a bomb, and Clinton will carry Carolina along with Indiana. Super-delegates will delicately tip-toe over to our cause.
As Barry rose out of no-where, so he will sink into nothing.
Obama is about to finally get baptized by that fire he mentioned…and it looks like a political incineration is in store for him.
Clinton just has to hang in there - Florida and Michigan, you are soon to rejoin our fold! Six days to go.
We seem to hear deafening crickets coming from the Wright camp at this moment.
I think people should continue to call the DNC…202-863-8000
And tell them how outraged we are that They have refused to count MI and FL voters or delegates. Make them understand that if they continue to allow lies to be told about Hillary breaking the rules in those states, they will pay. Make them promise to hold a news conference to say Hillary did not break the rules and Obama voluntarily took his name off the Ballot. And insist they either count the votes of the voters or have new primaries. If not we as women or Americans will not ever support any nominee they ram down our throats. They need to hear from us. Democracy or we bolt… They can fear us now.
Screw Obama and his disdain for this democracy. We have had 8 years of Bush trashing democracy and I will not stand for a Democrat doing it or a DNC doing it. And I don’t want to hear some song and dance about some petty party rules dreamed up by Dean and Brazille as a rationale for autocracy.
So, Obama hears only what he wants to hear…hmmmm, where have we heard that before? NOOOOOOOOOOO! Obama is our George Bush.
Many AA jumped to Wright’s defense prior to Obama’s disown speech on Apr 29.

this says it all!

Good one Mel. If BO can’t clean up after him self as Michelle Obama has said, who will?
Obama isn’t going to leave the church. He still has Rev. Moss and he preaches just like Wright does. He believes the same things Wright does. Obama hasn’t changed anything but his pastor.
Update V: Here’s the clip from War Room, thanks to Ed Driscoll. Go to about 4:30 in this YouTube, and see for yourself. The context is clearly the polling results and how bad they looked for the Bush campaign, referencing Texas specifically:
I understand the original video has been pulled by the owner. That tells us something.
Update (AP): For what it’s worth, KP e-mails to say that she worked for Kantor at the White House and knows he’d never use language like this. I believe it: We’re not talking about surveillance cam video here, where Kantor might not have known he was being recorded. Pennebaker had a lens right in his face. He’d have to be an abject moron to drop the N-bomb with the tape rolling.
I sure hope we don’t find Team Barry’s fingerprints on this highly racially polarizing little smear job.
Update (Ed): Go read Baldilock’s excellent post on the etymology of the racial epithet.
I’m sick of the DNC types scrambling to endorse. Every time a new poll is announced they roll out another superdelegate. And then they all get on TV and say it’s “too little too late”. So the Democrats are saying “we made a mistake” and the DNC is saying “too bad, win or lose, you’re stuck with him.”
What are conventions for if not to decide on a candidate?
That would be just about Obama’s ceiling for votes in the GE. Way to go, DNC!
OBAMA AND WRIGHT ARE STILL TALKING…BEHIND THE SCENES….MAYBE THERE’S ANOTHER SIDE TO THE STORY
Read this:
http://cbs2chicago.com/politics/obama.jeremiah.wright.2.711811.html
It is VERY clear from reading this article that Obama and Wright are still communicating….Father Pfleger, who is a character in his own right, admits in this article to acting as an intermediary between the two….over the last couple of days.
I am not quite sure why the press isn’t looking into this any more….if this were any other candidate…the press would be examining the fact that Wright and Obama are still communicating with each other.
You know, there is a possibility that Wright and team Obama (w/ Axelrod at the helm) came up with a gameplan…………Has anyone heard the story of the sacrificial lamb….well it is a biblical story, so I am sure Wright knows it quite well…..
…. As we know, Obama’s team has used Wrights recent actions to position Obama as the victim, and Wright as the Villain…and it’s worked (to some extent)….
Maybe this is the way Wright wanted it to go down…..and maybe, the 20 year, father-son relationship, has just gotten much stronger as Wright did the fatherly thing, and took the fall for his boy.
http://www.chicagoagainstobama.com
It was a setup and still setup by the obama camp but the media whores wanted to keep obama on life support til pelosi hands him the nom. Come on, obama believe the craps rev wrong preached.
Hillary is being done in by the LEFT wing conspiracy.
Ray: thanks for the cbs link: WOAH!! That’s an a stunning article: Pfleger is counseling Obama and while Pfleger and Obama are together Tuesday Wright call Obama’s cell???
Disgusting…. Obama is a fraud… big time. And Pfleger -who adores Farrakhan— as counselor??? WTH is Obama thinking?..
No, sorry I misunderstood the article. Wright called Pfleger’s cell while CBS was talking to Pfleger.
The rest of my comment however, still stands….
Crazy…
Oh great, Phleger. Another nutcase.
Oh it’s possible, except it didn’t work out so well for them.
Off Topic, I know, but this might be a good lead-in for Happy Hour today…
Former DNC chairs write to DNC members on behalf of Senator Clinton
May 2, 2008
Dear Fellow Democratic Party Member:
Democratic National Committee members work tirelessly to elect Democrats locally, and they serve as strong advocates for finding solutions to our nation’s most pressing problems. As former DNC Chairs, we are proud to be leaders in a Party that seeks to alleviate the burden of limited access to health care, fix broken systems of public education, improve working conditions for middle-class men and women, and ensure America’s safety and security, at home and abroad.
Those of us who support Hillary Clinton for president do so with the knowledge that she, just like us, has dedicated her life to improving the standard of living for others, and she has worked to make our Party the strong force that it is today. Her values are our Party’s values. Her record of fiscal prudence is matched by her commitment to social responsibility. Her accomplishments in the area of strengthening America’s security are a matter of public record.
Hillary has run one of the most formidable campaigns in the history of our Party. Her wins this primary season are significant – Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas. Her base of support includes women, Hispanics, seniors, Catholics, middle and low income Americans, and rural, suburban and urban voters. That’s a formidable coalition tailor-made for victory in a November general election.
In fact, if the election were held today, Hillary would beat Senator McCain, but Senator Obama would lose to the presumptive GOP nominee. According to the most recent polls available, Hillary would beat McCain by a margin of 279 to 259 Electoral Votes. But McCain would beat Obama by a margin of 291 to 247 Electoral Votes.
In a hypothetical general election matchup with McCain, Clinton is winning handily (50%-41%) while Obama is statistically tied with McCain (46%-44%), according to the AP-Ipsos poll released Monday. In the days following the Pennsylvania primary, Gallup Poll Daily tracking showed Hillary pulling even with Senator Obama. As of Thursday, Hillary was ahead 49%-45%.
Hillary can win our Party’s nomination. She is neck and neck with her opponent in Indiana and North Carolina. Both states have sizeable voting blocs that resemble constituencies who supported Hillary by large margins in Pennsylvania, Ohio and other contests.
Years of job loss and the recent economic slowdown mean that most Indiana and North Carolina voters are more concerned about the economy than anything else. Hillary has consistently garnered the majority of support from voters who say the economy is the most important issue facing our country.
Hillary’s campaign is currently operating at full capacity in Guam, Indiana, North Carolina, West Virginia, Kentucky, Oregon, Puerto Rico, Montana and South Dakota.
As in states that have already voted, election official are expecting record turnouts. Pennsylvania registered more than 215,000 new voters ahead of its April 22 primary. More than 200,000 new voters have registered in Indiana since the start of the year. And in counties across North Carolina, registration numbers are double – or triple – what they were in 2004.
More than 30 million Americans have already cast a ballot in our Party’s nomination contest and millions more will go to the polls between now and June 3. The record numbers of Americans who are registering and coming out to vote reflect the excitement about our candidates and the strength that our nominee will have behind him or her in the fall. The primary process will make our nominee stronger and better prepared to take on John McCain. Our Party only gains from having more voters – including more new voters – all across our country.
We encourage you to continue to fully consider Hillary Clinton and the fact that she is qualified and accomplished. Too much is at stake for us not to consider deeply the choice we must make for our Party and our country.
Sincerely,
Kenneth Curtis

Senator Obama is lost at sea — his judgment is indeed in question and it should be. I’m surprised it took so long for the MSM to start looking at this — Wright, Rezko, Auchi, Ayers, Khalidi etc. and so on — these associations do not exhibit good judgment.
Once he goes “off script” he has also made many blunders indicating he is not in touch with the real concerns and values of many Americans. Everyone in this country deserves to be treated with respect — no one constitutes or should be treated as “the fly-over people” and no constituency should be insulted or taken for granted.
He is tired and out of his depth in this campaign. His defenders can only cover for him for so long.
Hillary really wants the job and has shown she has the smarts, bold, progressive policies, experience and intestinal fortitude to deal with the rigors of the White House.
For the first time, Sen. Obama is having to answer for himself and literally after 6 weeks of some challenging press coverage — and I say SOME — he is absolutely a wreck.
No matter how much one may like him, the truth is that does not bode well for his abilities to handle the pressures of the Presidency — or even the pressures of the Republican attack machine coming full bore against him.
And even if he were to prevail, which I honestly don’t think he can, anyone with any knowledge of the political process knows that the honeymoon is over 20 minutes after the Inauguration and the skewering and the headaches begin in earnest.
There is no shame in Senator Obama admitting he is not ready. Most people on this planet would not be. The true shame would be the pretending he is and then being likewise lost at sea once on the job. The American people cannot afford it.
Let us all unite and demand DNC & party leaders in your state to count FL & MI voters! It is our civic duty to do that asap. This is IMO, a way for us to fight for DEMOCRACY, if not in the battlefield, just like the brave members of the Armed Forces, we, too, are part of them, the silent ones, by clicking the board, we send our words of TRUTH!Click & send ur demand to your (D)lawmakers’ e-mail.
Obama is a numero uno EGOISTIC! I do not believe him in denouncing his pastor. Once elected (?)he’ll embrace him again & it is F…you to all, except those two & the Black! PLS.,AMERICA,WAKE-UP!!!OBAMA IS A DEMOCRAT BUSHIE!!!
The FL and MI votes count in November. Not counting them now would be a big mistake.
I live in Illinois and voted for Obama once. I will never make that mistake again.
Let’s fervently hope the Super D’s get it! Many seem to be following the money-laden Obama chuckwagon over the disastrous Donner Trail!
Love that turn of phrase Susan!!!

‘DON’T HIT ON HILLARY!” what poetic justice for a senior to be brave enough to speak out that way right to his face in public - good retort for his MSM phoney ads this week, trying to ply for senior and women votes by showing frail 80 somethings, all silver haired and all in a row (like sitting ducks) lifting their tiny arms to cheer “OBAMA”!
was really sad about that til I read your piece above - thanks - and while we’re at it let’s thank the Great Lakes for staying out of Oregon and PA vets for getting into Oregon vets bo camp lit. You’ve made it all as funny as it is.
SusanUnPC bring back the Boo Birds!!!
I see you guys are still at it. You’re a good crew and Hillary was lucky to have you…. but it’s over.
You can’t win now without Michigan and Florida and their delegations are not going to be seated at the Convention as they are now comprised. It would not be fair to seat them as they are and you know it. If the situation were reversed you’d be screaming blue bloody murder to keep them out too.
You get no better than a split in Indiana. You lose NC. Even if you win Kentucky and WV you will likely lose ND, MT and OR. The delegates just aren’t there for her.
My gut tells me that Hillary puts down the sword in June. I don’t see her dragging the Party all the way to the Convention. She’s bigger than that. The question is, are you?
Sorry, s/b SD
I guess then you are happy to concede in November to Senator McCain since not one of us will vote for Barky Obama and without Senator Clinton’s supporters he is toast. What sort of jelly do you prefer?
I think they might like the “prickly pear” kind!!!
What’s Barack Obama’s THEME SONG for this long-standing friends AYERS, REZKO, WRIGHT, ET. AL.? “STUCK ON YOU” by Lionel Ritchie.
[...] Jeremiah Wright Can’t Be Explained Away, and the American People KNOW What’s Wrong The numbers are devastating for Obama, and it’s clear that a fatigued Obama — deep down inside — knows it too, even as he portrays himself and his wife as ever the victims who somehow made it anyway: Barack Obama was showing signs of campaign fatigue. Jeremiah Wright is 100% fraud including his ethnicity. I don’t understand why he calls himself black and why nobody ever questioned his “blackness”?! Just simply look at color of his skin – completely white! His facial features are also not African at all, more like South European (Sicilian) or Turkish /Arabic.
If I worked on a movie about West African slave trade I’d rather cast him as a Barbary pirate, not as African slave in chains.
Obama does not share
Wright’s views the only people who would believe such a thing is someone who allows the media to think for them and tell them how to feel. Black people do not always share the views of everyone they associate with just because we happen to be close to people. Have you all forgotten Obama is half white too.
