The only living two term Democratic president — still draws bigger crowds than Kerry and Kennedy combined — doesn’t need to damage his reputation on a punk kid from Chicago who isn’t going to get elected in November. That’s a fact, jack. Learn to deal with it.

Both he and his wife dislike Clinton (unfairly, I believe- just as most on this blog unfairly dislike Obama) and would NEVER vote for her.

But my brother confirmed to me today that he is registering to vote for Obama!

Vote for Buchanan if you like. But understand that he stands AGAINST everything that Hillary supports! If you would rather vote against Obama, you never really supported Clinton’s ideals!

We both voted for Obama because we feel he’s the best choice. Clinton and he agree on 99.99% of issues and CLinton herself will be working to elect him.

Then things that turned me off of CLinton were: the IWR, her voting against banning Cluster Bombs, the Kyl-Lieberman amendment, her comments towards Iran, her waffling on ‘exceptions for torture’, and her HORRIBLY RUN CAMPAIGN! I also want a clean break from the past (and the apparent duopoly of the past 28 years).

BTW, part of the reason the older generation supports her is because of the residual effects of racism. Segregation persisted until the 1960’s and MANY older folks (including my grandparents and godparents, God Bless THem) are uncomfortable voting for an African American for President.

Times are changing, though. The younger generation is far less xenophobic, and much more likely to embrace diversity.

Me, I’m writing in Pat Buchanan (I prefer populist candidates). Too bad Lou Dobbs isn’t running as a candidate…sigh.

Why don’t you try to focus on appeal from a State that actually votes Democratic? Do you just sling names out there that you know? Nancy PeePee said that there will be no “dream ticket” (not that Clinton suppoters see any “dream” in Hillary being a VP to his POTUS) … Have you checked to see HOW Colorado and “military states” vote historically? You’re aware that McCain is a decorated war hero, right?

We’re really sorry that you and your friends who support Snoboama would vote against your own interests, but here in America, you’re allowed to do that.

And McCain is going to put Pawlenty on the ticket and hope to make the Midwest competitive (it’s not going to work). . . The GOP convention is in Minnesota this year and McCain needs someone young, exciting, popular, and energetic.

Obama may have to put Hillary on the ticket (which WILL hurt his appeal with Independents and Republicans)- but I think the VP SHOULD BE Jim Webb of VA! He was the Sec of Navy under Reagan, is a true populist, and would help him win Virginia, Colorado, and other states with a strong military base community.
