Good Morning, West Virginia!

Latest poll of West Virginia, May 3, 2008: HILLARY HAS A 40% LEAD!

HRC 63 / Obama 23 / DK 14

The poll was conducted by Orion Strategies for TSG Consulting. I don’t have a link, but it’s from a 100% solid source.

God I love blowback.

Hillary is AWESOME!!! I hope Obama picks her as his running mate, if not, at least she’ll still be in the Senate and can be part of the Obama Revolution!

Love ya Hill! Sorry about losing the nomination, it was a good fight!

can we at least keep trolls out until after the primaries?
They’ve fouled up every blog on the web with this crap.

Hey there “Guy”. I am going to enjoy watching John Mccain set up the draft and make you people “earn” the right to open your yaps. You need some Marine Corps boot camp to teach you some manners. Good luck with getting OB elected, alone.

Comment by James | 2008-05-08 17:55:24

My instinct is to say Hillary will win by at most 9% in West Virginia. The survey taken 5-8–8 by Zeta-Alta. suggests a surge for Obama as of late.

Yes, your in stinks

Comment by Jimmy Karrveil | 2008-05-09 01:10:28

The word is that the less educated and the dumber people are the more likely they are to support Hillary. I suppose we will see how West Virginians measure on that scale. If this poll is a true reflection of their intelligence level, I believe they will prove to be the lowest in the whole country. Not an achievement most people would want.

Comment by Jimmy Karrveil | 2008-05-09 00:46:33

I agree “Rise Hillary Rise”. There are still some dummys to flim flam. Tell them what they want to hear. They are not smart enough to know they are being taken for a ride. Keep up the good work. Shear these sheep. After you are through with them, toss them out with the rest of the trash.

Comment by IdiotPatrol | 2008-05-09 05:13:32

I’d rather be a Hillary supporter than someone who supports a candidate with terrorist ties. Obama + Presidency = Hamas’s happiest day

Intelligence test, Obama= I can’t disown UNCLE Wright + 6 weeks latter/I disown him

Do the math.

If the Republicans had run the race-baiting campaign which Mrs. Clinton has run, we’d all pull together and give them a verbal what-for.

However, one of our own (Democrat) has said that she is popular with “hard-working” “white” Americans. Yet, people continue to give her a pass on this kind of rhetoric.

I believe we can’t go forward unless we can go forward honestly. Mrs. Clinton has rung up some political debts she will find difficult to pay off.

Comment by jdona | 2008-05-13 10:59:32

Right back at you - I for one took extreme offense to being categorized along with Obama’s grandmother to being a typical white person. I also found it reprehensible that when Hillary Clinton was commenting on the role of Lyndon Johnson in getting the Civil Rights Act of 1964 passed, Obama said her comments were “ill advised”. Since when was acknowledging the courage and foresight of one of our Democratic Presidents in the struggle for civil rights “ill advised”. and now Obama wants to the President? While at the same time denigrating the Democratic President that brought us the War on Poverty, the Great Society and the Civil Rights Act? Obama isn’t fit to call himself President, and it is a slap in the face to all of those who served before him.

Comment by rationalpsychic | 2008-05-13 12:04:22

Will you protect the reputation and historical importance of Martin Luther King, Jr., also? This was the point of Obama’s comment.

Please don’t exaggerate. This single comment was not a slap in the face to anyone.

Comment by jdona | 2008-05-14 21:15:08

Oh yes it was. It was an insult to President Johnson, just like your attempt to turn it into a slap in the face of Martin Luther King above. There is no reason to say that saluting President Johnson for all his hard work is somehow a slap in the face to Martin Luther King. It doesn’t have to be either/or. But you just did the same thing that Obama did. You turned a compliment to President Johnson into an insult to MLK. The same ploy Obama used to race bait in South Carolina. You are no different than he is.

Comment by rationalpsychic | 2008-05-15 01:07:07

I do understand your point. However, from what I heard Mrs. Clinton saying at: http://bourbonroom.blogs.foxnews.com/2008/01/07/clintons-candid-assessment/ was the opposite of what you are saying when you write: “It doesn’t have to be either/or.” Mrs. Clinton’s intention, from the rhetoric I hear, is to MAKE an either/or distinction.

For Mrs. Clinton, Obama’s hope has always been a false hope. For her, Mr. Obama doesn’t offer anything real or substantive. She said that it took Johnson to make a dream into a reality. This is the kind of half-truth that pays the bills for lawyers as an occupational class.

She is right that Johnson made a major effort and a gamble of political capital to make the legislation move through its final stages. However, her statement doesn’t recognize the years of efforts on the part of Martin Luther King, Jr., and thousands more who were motivated by his example of non-violent struggle. In part, this is the nature of our democracy playing itself out. However, how could such beautiful and terrifying events have unfolded without the impetus of MLK, Jr. and others who laid their LIVES on the line–not just their political futures?

I admire the stand that LBJ took. I do. However, I think that the common citizens, and those who were without the power of office, were the ones who made the greater sacrifice–in terms of personal cost and in terms of years of difficult struggle.

Is it true that Obama isn’t even campaigning in WV & KY, but is instead putting time into Ohio because it’s a swing state he lost (to appease the GE fears and the superdelegates)? Of course, the arrogance is not surprising, but it also indicates that the fix is in.

As long as they don’t impede on US interests (and that means US, not Israel), it’s a civil war that only their countrymen can settle. Foreigners will always be regarded with mistrust, anyway.

We have more business to settle, things like feeding not only our own, the world (21st century, and we still have millions who go hungry — despicable).

Winners Don’t Quit!
by Pagan Power, Thu May 08, 2008 at 01:05:42 PM EST

Yesterday, one time Hillary supporter George McGovern switched his endorsement to Obama and called upon Hillary to exit the race. To some this sudden switch of allegiance signaled a shift among Hillary supporters and a sure sign of a certain end to her campaign. But to more astute observers it demonstrated how weak McGovern’s support was to begin with. After all, when a so-called friend abandons you because it is more politically expedient to switch sides it is probably a good idea to redefine the term friendship.

Superdelegates await Clinton’s next move

“It certainly was not out of any less respect for Sen. Clinton,” McGovern said. “I think she has waged a really courageous and valiant campaign. … But I think mathematically the race is all but won by Barack Obama and the time has come for all of us to unite and get ready for the general election in the fall.”

Comment by midge battelle | 2008-05-08 20:38:19

mr mcgovern’s ” respect ” for Sen Clinton boggles the mind. and mathematically he’s wrong about who is the undisputed candidtae. neither of them have enough delegates without the supers stepping up. so george, what’s the “respect” quotient for Fla and Mich votes being counted?

One concern about Obama…
by werd2406, Thu May 08, 2008 at 01:02:09 PM EST

Since its becoming more and more clear that Obama will be the nominee, as a Clinton supporter and Democrat first, I will obviously be supporting him. Also I agree with a lot of his policies, I just agreed with Clinton’s a little more. Anyway, I do two concerns about him that I do keep on noticing….

1. One reason I chose Clinton is how great she was in debates. I could very well see her wiping the floor with McCain. For Obama, he seemed to be “ok” but always came across as frustrated and made it clear he wasn’t enjoying the debate. I really hope that will change.

2. His campaign. He says he wont be swift-boated and will respond to every controversy immediately, yet when the Wright thing happened, even though it was extremely clear what he had to say and do, he waited. Kinda gives me concerns about the GE but hopefully he’ll improve.

Also, when the gas tax holiday debate came out, it was clear to everyone to run with the “the oil companies will just raise their prices anyway” mantra to shut down the whole debate in general. Instead it was somewhat here and there used but for the most part not so much.

So yeah, those have been some of my two main concerns about him. Hopefully he’ll be able to pick up the pace.

Thoughts? Comments

Comment by jwrjr | 2008-05-08 13:16:40

“… he wont be swift-boated …” I suppose that is technically true. Swift-boating involves lying about a candidate. The repubs don’t need to lie about Obama. The truth is bad enough. So they will be telling the truth about Obama and not swift-boating him.

Comment by Jimmy Karrveil | 2008-05-09 01:38:25

How would you feel to see ‘a black man attacking a white woman?’ An honest answer to that question will tell you all you need to know as to why Obama was not more aggressive in the debates with Hillary Clinton. As to your second concern, he won’t be taking it easy on the Republican candidate McCain. There are no voters he can realistically expect to get from the hard core Republican voters and no reason to hesitate to give him the Muhammed Ali treatment.

Yesterday I was so lucky to attend the event Honoring Generations of Women with Chelsea Clinton, Hillary Clinton, and Dorothy Rodman. It was such a moving experience and at times I was crying I was so touched by Chelsea and Hillary Clinton.

I was particularly moved when Hillary talked about the struggle women face balancing family and work. She talked about the need for flexible hours, telecommunicating, and equal pay for equal work. She really nailed it. I personally have experienced pay disparity as a consultant. Clients have paid me less than male consultants for doing the same work. Often as much as 10 or 15 percent less.

This Mother’s Say, instead of having a massage or facial, as I usually do, I’m spending the day in West Virginia canvassing for the candidate who’s a mom and who really has solid plans to make women’s lives better. I hope you will join me and celebrate Mother’s Day by supporting Hillary

There is a story in the NY Times with the headline Amid Talk of the Endgame Boos From the Crowd Clinton Carries on by John M. Broder. It is a completely erroneous story and I have written the following to the public editor:

Excuse me? I was there, at the Shepherdstown, West Virginia Clinton rally, while apparently Mr. Broder was not, but was instead somewhere in the ozone fantasying his own reality. Not only did no one boo Senator Clinton, the crowd was as friendly and supportive as they could be. There to report on the rally myself, I can tell you that out of the approximately two thousand mostly Clinton supporters in attendance, there were maybe three Obama signs in the crowd; the rest of the signs were for Hillary. This surprised me because Shepherdstown is the home of Shepherd University, a college town and a bastion of liberals — prime Obama territory. One rowdy kid got booed by the crowd for attacking Hillary on Iran, the crowd booing him with indignation in support of Senator Clinton. As I said, this event couldn’t have been a more loving environment for Mrs. Clinton or Chelsea the day after her candidacy was declared over by reporters like the bozo who wrote this story.

This is what Hillary is up against.

If you or your kids have money to throw away, why not give it to a food bank and feed some hungry children. Hillary and Bill Clinton earned over 109 million dollars over the last seven years. I don’t think they need your money.

Comment by Jimmy Karrveil | 2008-05-09 04:14:07

I need to retract ny previous statement. It seems Hillary Clinton does need your money. Her campaign is apparently in debt multi-millions of dollars, of which 11 million or so is owed to her and Bill (money she loaned her campaign from their personal fortune). So those kids will just have to go hungry so her campaign can pay her the eleven million dollars her campaign owes her. Sorry I did not know this at the time I made the statement.

Comment by JM | 2008-05-09 04:46:28

Nice try. How about Barack Obama donating some of the $250 million dollars his campaign has managed to raise to some of those local food banks? After all, he has outspent Hillary Clinton’s campaign anywhere from 3 to 5 times per state, and he still can’t close the deal.

Seems like a waste of money to me, don’t ya think?

Meanwhile in the House, Nancy (Fancy) Pelosi & dem. leadership (???) are considering making changes to the FISA law which would give the telecom industry immunity from illegally spying on us which is what Mr.”27%” Bush desires.

And the “Blue Dog” House democrats who vote with republicans, are fighting to remove benefits for veterans that are in the Iraq funding bill “because there hasn’t been a reduction in spending to cover the cost”!

I’m an old lady who remembers when democrats actually were the party of the people. Now dem. leadership doesn’t give a shit if telecom companies illegally spy on us or if veterans who have served our country are cared for…..and who do they support…..OBAMA…why???

Barry is doing what he has done all of his life, travelling the road of least resistance with whomever and whatever will move his ass forward. Like our present leadership, totally void of CHARACTER.

The spineless democratic congressional leadership certainly have set an impressive example in the congress..HA????? They will do anything to keep their staus quo position even to promoting a candidate whom mainstream citizens do not support and who is untried, unfit, unqualified and dishonest, as our nominee.

Hillary has proven her entire life that she has character, that she will work for change, her intellect incredible, her interest in our problems sincere, her smile welcoming and friendly…..thanks Donna for throwing longtime democrats like myself off the bus, we don’t want to be on your damn bus anyway!!

How do you think light bills are paid?

The government doesn’t make it’s own money, it taxes to get it.

It’s also not the responsibility of taxpayers to give the government a blank check.

You, I or anyone else tried writing blank checks that wasn’t secured with cash in the bank, we’ll be in jail for check fraud.

The government doesn’t operate any differently — and we’re not going to be taxed like Europe to compensate.

In a stunning display of arrogance unparalleled even for him, Obama is apparently not planning to campaign in West Virginia. He’s got too many other important things to do, since he’s planning to announce victory on May 20. His in-pocket media will say, “Clinton wins West Virginia, but Obama didn’t campaign there.” Oh, and, “When will she withdraw from the race.”

I’ve never in my life seen a candidate who is so spoiled, so entitled, that he doesn’t compete where he thinks he can’t win. He’s never lost a primary yet, either; it was either due to racism or Rush Limbaugh. He won’t debate, he won’t count the votes or revote. I know that he wishes he were born 800 years ago, where you were king by divine right. But he’s doing it as well as he can in this era. “L’etat, c’est moi.” “I have won the nomination!”

Comment by hillarysmygirl | 2008-05-08 15:39:03

Good, maybe she can take all 39 of West Virginia’s delegates if he doesn’t need them, thanks!

He doesn’t go to events that won’t get him new voters either: Black State of The Union, Dr. Martin Luther King Day Memorial. He doesn’t care about anyone but HIMSELF.

Of course, I’m the kind of pray-er that also would say pray for BO, that he sees the truth and does the right thing (I leave what the truth and the right thing are to God).

Hillary is rising, straight to the top!! :-)

Comment by Jimmy Karrveil | 2008-05-09 02:11:45

I will pray for you; that your eyes be opened to the truth. I will pray for Hillary that she will lose this lust for power and blind ambition. I will pray for this country that the evil that seeks to rise to the top sinks back to the depths where it belongs.

“I am so thoroughly disgusted with much of the Democratic party right now. I don’t know that the feeling will subside anytime soon, if ever.”

I feel your pain!

In my over 20 years of participation in this process, I have never had the opportunity to vote for someone who could pass all of my purity tests, but then I thought the first Clinton administration was Republican lite. However without hesitation I voted for the man twice.

I just don’t get such hyper partisanship between the rabid supporters of two fine candidates that are actually very close to each other on the issues (which of course makes them too conservative for my tastes).

Full disclosure, I voted for Obama, but would cast a ballot for Hillary with enthusiasm and without hesitation.

I just do not get the rancor on either side, but there does seem to be a belief on this side of the aisle that america will never vote for a black man and therefor if Obama gets the nomination America is DOOMED!!!!!!!!!!!

I might have agreed with you a year ago…….today, not so much. Hell I would have said the same thing about a female candidate.

I guess I have a little more faith in this country now (obviously many here might not share that view).

When all this is said and done I hope that you will join me and support our party nominee for president.

After reading the names that Senator Obama is called in these comments, I will never again object to my husband referring to Senator Clinton as “that Clinton c**t.” Apparently, that kind of nastiness is acceptable.

Dawn — Do you have a problem with Obama calling Bill and Hillary Clinton racists? That was the deal breaker for me. Obama is not ready for Prime time I don’t care how many media people prop him up. His list of SD’s looks like a who’s-who of Democratic losers. When I look back and see how many of these gemopes I worked for I have to hang my head in shame.

The difference between the Democrats and Republicans is that the Republicans want to win. It won’t be too long before Obama is just a crossword puzzle question. Which Presidential Nominee lost more Democratic Voters than any other Nominee in history 5 letters.

Comment by Dawn | 2008-05-08 14:09:42

I would certainly have a problem with Senator Obama if he called either President or Senator Clinton a racist, and I am sorry that you feel shame about the people you worked for.

Comment by s. hall | 2008-05-08 14:41:29

To me the Democratic Party is the party of the little guy, the blue collar workers who work hard and play by the rules and have a right to expect their share of the American Dream. Obama in his arrogance cannot stand those voters. When I see Obama’s roster of SD’s and I see names like McGovern who cost us the election in 72 or Teddy Kennedy who blew it in 1980 or John Kerry who fucked up in 2004 — how dare these losers tell us Democrats its time to lose again with a man who cannot win an industrial state.

The only successful Democratic President in the last in the last 40 years has been Bill Clinton. His policies created 23 Million new jobs–consumer confidence was at an all time high as was America’s respect around the world
and for this he gets attacked by this roster of losers.

Today I am ashamed of my activism within the Democratic Party and all my years of party loyalty.

Comment by Dawn | 2008-05-08 15:44:53

To be completely candid, I am an Independent (with liberal leanings) and my husband is a Libertarian (and is considerably more conservative than I). We usually vote for our third-party candidates because, until 2004, we really didn’t think there was that much difference in the D’s and R’s. By 2004, we’d seen exactly how much damage a non-thinking President can do, so we felt we needed to pick the best thinker this time around, regardless of party. I assumed he’d vote for the Republican nominee and I’d vote for Senator Clinton. What we never considered was that we’d both pick the same candidate.

From our outside-the-party perspective, it looks like the part of the Democratic base supporting Senator Clinton is moving toward the right. Of course, that’s an opinion from outside, so I understand that it has no impact on the in-party discussion.

I do hope that whatever happens, our country can recover from the horrific ineptitude and (again, my opinion) criminal actions of the Bush administration.

Comment by Jimmy Karrveil | 2008-05-09 02:43:29

Please take a course in economics and study what caused the boom during the Clinton presidency. The economy grew despite what Bill Clinton tried to do, not because of it. In addition, the Republicans are responsible for jerking him back from devastating the economy he had. Hate to admit it, but that is what happened. Oh, and as you watch the jobs going to Mexico and on to China say thank you Bill. He followed through and got Nafta and the WTO off the ground just like his ‘daddy’, George Herbert Walker Bush wanted. The ‘fat cats’ made out like bandits and the working people got the shaft. Why do you think all these big corporations pay him hundreds of thousands of dollars to give a speech. Payback.

I’m through with doubt
There’s nothing left for me to figure out
I’ve paid a price
And I’ll keep paying

I’m not ready to make nice
I’m not ready to back down
I’m still mad as hell and
I don’t have time to go round and round and round
It’s too late to make it right
I probably wouldn’t if I could
‘Cause I’m mad as hell
Can’t bring myself to do what it is you think I should

I know you said
Can’t you just get over it
It turned my whole world around
And I kind of like it

I made my bed and I sleep like a baby
With no regrets and I don’t mind sayin’
It’s a sad sad story when a mother will teach her
Daughter that she ought to hate a perfect stranger
And how in the world can the words that I said
Send somebody so over the edge
That they’d write me a letter
Sayin’ that I better shut up and sing
Or my life will be over

I’m not ready to make nice
I’m not ready to back down

Donna Brazile responded to my letter about switching my party affiliation

——————————————————————————–

I am greatly disturbed by this primary. I am a Hillary supporter (I consider myself part of the base democratic supporters) and after many months of thinking about it I have decided to switch to the republican party.
I sent a letter to Donna Brazile today telling her of my decision and the exact reasons I was leaving.

Here was her reply to me:

Honestly, this is the 9th email today, so I believe you’re ready to not only
destroy Roe versus Wade, voting rights, civil liberties and civil rights.
Perhaps adding trillions more to the deficits through non stop tax cuts to
the wealthy and 100 more years in Iraq.

Yes, please join Rush and McCain asap. The train has left. Catch it.

Please don’t send these emails to working people like myself. Notice you
sent it to my campus address. I am a working class person. Can you find
someone who drinks latte?

Message to the base: stay home.

What surprises me is that I thought they had the latte liberal vote locked up. Sounds like Brazile believes all Democrats are the enemy.

Just came across something that might scare you (and show you where Obama’s going with this election)

I found out that one of his advisors is a Dr. Iva Carruthers (look her up on google) She’s written and promoted a lot of talk about SLAVERY REPARATIONS.

She is also a member of his church and has been for quite some time (and also subjected to Wright).

I recall Wright saying at the Press Club speech that “If Obama gets elected in November, I’m coming after him”

At first I thought he meant in terms of doing harm, but then I wondered if he meant that he was going to hold him to the agenda that they might have concocted, including reparations.

If anything can come to light in this, it could really be damaging to Obama.

Comment by stodghie | 2008-05-08 22:23:42

My e-mail to Donna Brazile I

I guess you don’t believe the amount of Democrats who are going to leave the party because of the tactics used against Hillary Clinton by you and Howard Dean. I am a third generation democrat and I have never voted Republican. Now I am hearing that people like me are not needed in the Democratic Party anymore. I will re-register as a Republican because that party wants to win.

I guess you have so many newly registered voters you don’t need your Democratic Base. I think the Republican Party will welcome voters like me and maybe if enough of us reregister we can have more influence on that party then we have on our own.

Power corrupts — Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely.

Comment by ChrisXP | 2008-05-09 02:03:00

Note: you don’t even need to register as a Republican. Plenty conservatives are Independents. It maybe more platable for Dems who can’t stand the GOP platform. It also means you don’t have to leave Dem beliefs (especially social issues) at the door. Independents are issue voters, not party hacks.

Hi folks, new here.
I’m a physician who supports Hillary and Universal Health care. I’m the medical director of a nusing facility in Hancock county, WV. I have arranged two bus trips to the county courthouse so the seniors at our facility can vote early. The tally (informal) so far is Hillary 32, mcCain 12, Obamam 0. Of the (mostly women) residents I’v spoken with, they are so inspired by Hillary and the thought of a woman president in their lifetime. It is exhilirating for me to see, even if my reasons for supporting Hillary are slightly more cerebral and less visceral. None of the women and only two of the men would vote for Obama if he were the nominee. By the way, they do not know my party or candidate preferences, as I believe there is no place for politics (or religion) in the patient-physician relationship. The above information was volunteered spontaneously (or overheard by eavesdropping while on the bus!) and admittedly is very crude. At several points talking to these wonderful people, I began to choke up (I’m a man by the way-we’re not supposed to do that!). I’ve got lots of great stories if any is interested in hearing any. Anyway, just thought this was a nice little boost.
Hillary or McCain for me-If I can’t vote my ethics, I’ll vote my pocketbook.

Comment by it'snotme | 2008-05-08 14:55:53

Seniors are the best. Frankly, it’s time for the grownups to clean this mess up.

Everyone, call, call, donate, and organize like this doctor did to get people to the polls. It’s not over and every vote counts. I’ve been making calls just to remind folks that this is not finished and that Dems usually go to the convention to finalize the nominee (as in 1976, 80, 84, 88, and 92). We have to counteract the media storm thats waging around the voters. It’s up to us!

I’m a doctor, too, a pediatrician. I support Hillary’s Universal plan and think she has the clearest notion of what makes good health care as well.

Godspeed to everyone, let’s keep working!

Lunch bucket democrats and moderate african americans will carry Hill to the nomination. If hill beats obama by the 20s may 13 it will be because of the lunch buckets and/or the moderate AAs.

Look the non moderate AAs are going to vote for Obama no matter what. They are easily presuaded by the racism argument because for the most part they believe they are where they are in life due to racism (and that might be so). Take the current case of the detroit mayor, kilpatrick. Detroit has one of the highest if not the highest foreclosure rates in the country and the people most affected by it (AAs) are not asking for kilpatricks head on a plater but are defending him against a federal indictmen. To me, the grand jury indictment would be a great excuse to get rid of him. But no the mayor is playing the race card and the people who dont have a home anymore agree and support him. HUH? So Obama will have the non moderate AAs forever. A more distant case was the mayor of DC Marion Barry. The man was caught on tape smoking crack and calling a woman a bitch and when he got out of jail he was elected mayor again. HUH? So Hill should not waste her time.

Now the egg heads have serious case of white guilt. I work with 55ish educated white guy. He loves Obama. He said to me with a straight face that obama inspired him–did I mention the guy is 50 not 15. Anyway my theory is that obama inspires him not to think prejudice thougths (and we all do black and white difference is blacks dont feel guilty). Guilt is a very powerful emotion. People can feel guilty about something that happened 50 years ago and can take guilt to their grave. You can have foggy memory about alot of stuff that happen a long time ago but a guilty memory always stills crystal clear in your mind. Hill should not waste her time with them either.

GO HILL GO!

folks here have been dismissive of obama’s wins in red states that we have no hope of carrying in november.

i find it ironic that clinton victories in kentucky and west virginia (which will also be red in the fall) are reason for such hope.

and there aren’t many AAs in Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Oregon, or South Dakota either, though he seems to have done/be doing pretty well in each.

Comment by Mostest | 2008-05-08 16:36:11

Answer: Caucuses and White guilt i.e. latte liberals.

Comment by EricaLeigh | 2008-05-08 17:57:28

West Virginia was won by Bill Clinton twice–it’s no way a dedicated red state like most of Obama’s caucus states. If Clinton appeals to the voters there, she can win there now and in November.

And as for his caucus wins, well, let’s just say that caucuses are not very representative of a true democratic process.

Comment by bwana | 2008-05-08 18:18:38

yes and he also took kentucky twice.

but let’s remember that perot was on the ballot in both elections, sucking up roughly 20 percent of the vote in each. that’s the only reason clinton won these states. in 2000 and 2004, they returned to their historic patterns — RED patterns.

The thing is the South like Dems. But the problem is the Democrat party left them for the CA moonies and urban liberals.

Hillary has a very good chance of winning back the Dems who went to the GOP, because it espoused values they can relate too — especially Faith and the 2nd Amendment (urban folks just don’t understand the influence of guns in the Southern way of life).

The real test for Hillary is the 2nd Amendment and not being yet another tax and spend liberal (Blue Dog Democrat). She passes those tests, the Red states will turn Blue.

Have to have a Blue Dog candidate, nothing else will work.

How sad it is that Obama has created such divisions by playing the race card. He thinks typical white people didn’t see him flip her off or didn’t realize he played 99 problems in NH. These things ALONE show he is too immature for the Presidency and there is a whole lot else wrong with this scenario. Even with this unbelievable media brainwashing going on with the fawning of Obama, still she stands.
That is the kind of President we need. One who shows LEADERSHIP.

I am a regular supporter of Hillary’s, check her blogs, write, donate, call, etc. I can flat out tell you that all the other regulars there, those working their butts off for Hillary, have already decided and we are trying to recruit others to decide, to re register as an Independent, in droves, in the millions, to send the DNC a clear message that we will not tolerate this election being stolen from Hillary and awarded to Obama. If he does decide to declare victory on May 20, then I say we revolt and register our party affiliations by the millions on May 21. If that does not get someone’s attention, then its not just the party in trouble, its our country people. We need to get organized, and show our disgust, our disdain, our disgust, and our outrage over how this whole fiasco has played out to try and put Obama in the White House.

I will switch the day she ends her fight to the Independent party. On Nov 4th I’ll write her in and vote down ticket dems.

And I will promote this with passion when needed.

That will make me feel way better about having this entire election stolen by a sham.

I not only know who I am voting for, I know her from when I was an elected offical in my city here in New York. I know who I am voting for. Do you know Barack Obama? Of course not. You are just another swooner who enjoyed the rally. Your propaganda is useless here. I recognize bullshit when I see it and Obama is the raw variety. This is not little league. We are talking about electing a president of the united states, not the next American Idol.

Hillary, Go away please. Obama, pick John Edwards. She is a tool of Israel, and McCain light. The Nuking of Iran, voting for Iraq War, and having Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh on your side did not work.

Comment by Alex | 2008-05-08 18:58:01

Hillary all the way ….

Comment by Dormammu | 2008-05-08 19:09:17

Will you Hilbots vote for her if she runs as an independent?

Comment by Uppity | 2008-05-08 22:11:20

I don’t think she would do that, so it’s a moot case.

I do know there are many who will be writing her in though. The one thing we won’t be doing is voting for Barack Obama.

P.S. Are you sure your father didn’t cheat?

Comment by requiemforadancer | 2008-05-08 22:15:52

She is a shameful liar

At the very least, she hasn’t declared herself king of the democrats, declaring victory unilaterally in the kook manner of Cheney’s “4th branch.”

I mean, cmon, he’s crazy.

Is this the strategy against McCain, too, Obama declares himself President, and that’s that?

Bama do that often?

Doesn’t look real stable in a President, d0od…

WV and KY, according to those lofty supporters of BO, are nothing but white trash. Who needs ‘em. We have the Dukakis coalition ready for the fall.

Comment by Uppity | 2008-05-08 22:06:49

Yeah we don’t need that “white trash” to win in November either. “White trash” isn’t racist stuff or anyhthing, not like say, “Black Trash”, right? We don’t need em. We don’t need blue collar hicks either. We don’t need women either, the bitches. We don’t need hispanics. We don’t need them damned Jews! We don’t need people who don’t have college educations either! We don’t need Italians. We don’t need Catholics. We don’t need Gays and lesbians. We don’t need ANYBODY anybody except AAs and college kids. Nobody else is gonna vote!

Good luck with that.

I am a hard working get your hands dirty democrat and I am writing to tell you I am one of the many who will never ever vote for Sen Obama. I am from IL and had to live through Sen Obama. I been through my union trying to bully us into voting for Sen Obama. I been through Sen Obama working for Rezko to screw the elderly, the poor, and the African Americans out of their homes. I been through all of Sen Obama’s “present” and “mistake” votes in the IL senate. I been though Sen. Obama using Rev. Wright to get his street credit to make a run at the IL senate. I been through Sen Obama challenging signatures on the nominating petitions of state Sen. Alice Palmer to screw her out of an election. And I with good conscious can never put America through that. With new information arising of Sen Obama’s dirty deals with Blackwell it makes me even more worried for this party to know they would parade the weaker candidate out there. I am not big on Sen McCain but if I must vote for the lesser of two evils then my vote will go for Sen McCain. You can say I am out to destroy Roe v Wade, voting rights, civil liberties and civil rights but you would be greatly wrong, I am out to save America. Believe me I am fearful for this party and this country and that is why I can never ever vote for Obama and will switch to Independent before Nov. It is not to late to save this party but does require electing the stronger candidate for the Democratic Party and that is Hillary Clinton.

Comment by Uppity | 2008-05-08 22:03:17

I’m with you. I didn’t just hop into this race. I have been involved with Democratic party and politics for decades. I cannot for the life of me support this man. He is the worst thing I have seen enter a presidential race in decades.

so obaby won’t go to wv. then he’ll say that’s why he lost by 50. we all know it’s because he represents everything the hard working people of wv despise. the supers will accept his bs explanation. then same thing, to a lesser degree will happen with ky. then he’ll declare victory before pr even gets to vote - so they’ll be discouraged and not as many will go out to vote against him - after all, can’t have pr popular vote numbers making him look bad….. and the supers will accept his bs explanation.

then he’ll be nominated. then he’ll lose in the general. then he’ll say we’re racists and bitter and that’s why we didn’t vote for him. but after losing, there won’t be any sycophants left to listen to him.

The Larry Sinclair vs Obama story will soon hit the big news and it will stop Obama in his tracks. Obama can’t handle the truth! Hillary can handle the truth!

Comment by Uppity | 2008-05-08 23:32:56

I honestly don’t think that story has legs. Politico arranged a polygraph test for him and paid him to take it. They employed two top experts to administer and analyze the test and Sinclair failed miserably. I think the guy is very seedy and his believability quotient is not very good. I do have to consider that if Obama wanted to have sex with a guy, that the guy would be a lot better looking than Sinclair. But hey! I could be wrong. But even if I’m not, I believe Obama will eventually implode, particularly with his middle eastern lovefest. The question isn’t “whether,” it’s “When”.

Comment by ChrisXP | 2008-05-09 03:04:56

Politico arranged a polygraph test for him and paid him to take it.

Whitehouse.com. And they never released the full results — nor paid him.

Listen to the Rense.com interview about it.

Comment by ChrisXP | 2008-05-09 01:03:07

This election is clearly showing the race divide.

With Donna dissing Hispanics even, Obama’s train is ready to go off the political cliff.

The rammifications of this racial split will be deep for years to come, from CA to TX. A Black just doesn’t tell Latinos their votes don’t count. Disagree on immigration and what not, but don’t tell 12% of the voting population they’re political nobodys.

It seems the DNC wants a brokered convention, complete with riots even. Wouldn’t doubt it, since Dean is crazy enough to even push the buttons to do so.

Comment by Jeff | 2008-05-09 01:52:57

Larry Sinclair did not fail the polygraph.

Whitehouse.com agreed to release all the results,
but only released 2 questions of a 4 hour test!

The ” Doctor ” who administered the test, got his
PHD from a Diploma mill.

The results were never properly anaylzed, once
again, because Whitehouse.com declined to release
almost all of the polygraph.

The Donald Young murder ties into the story,
according to Larry Sinclair. Phone records don’t
lie, and the Chicago Police are investiging this.

Jeff Rense has been following this story for months,
he’s a true reporter.

http://www.rense.com

Comment by Uppity | 2008-05-09 02:05:39

This must be another poly test. I followed it on the week they did a test in New York…right up to the day of the analysis. They reported that he failed that one, but I don’t recall it being whitehouse.com. Are you telling me he passed one?

Comment by Uppity | 2008-05-09 02:07:55

I’ll check out the Rense coverage.

Comment by ChrisXP | 2008-05-09 02:58:21

He passed them. There are some discrepencies (probably trying to not reveal all the names involved and such), but the main subjects came out true.

Larry goes into detail on the Rense interview afterwards. Check it out at the site. They even reneged on paying him.

Capital setup, top down (they do this to discredit, to keep the MSM off the crumbs, and destroy any vestige of character).

The powerbrokers are hellbent pushing their Manchurian Candidate through. They careless who or what is trampled in the process.

Uppity,

You might want to research your information on Mr. Sinclair’s polygraph test. Jeff’s comment above was correct. In addition, the computer analysis stated that he was telling the truth. Whitehouse.com was fraudulent in conducting the test; that is why they immediately took all info. on it off their website.

Obama also lied about his friendship with William Ayres and Bernadine Dohrn (Weather Underground terrorists). Mrs. Dohrn worked with Michelle Obama for 6 yrs. at a law firm in Chicago. Mr. Ayres hired Obama to be on his board of dir. of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge in Chicago for 8 years. Also, Ayres hosted a Senate campaign party for Obama at his home. Obama is not what he portrays himself to be!!
