About: Larry C. Johnson is a former analyst at the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, who moved subsequently in 1989 to the U.S. Department of State, where he served four years as the deputy director for transportation security, antiterrorism assistance training, and special operations in the State Department's Office of Counterterrorism. He left government service in October 1993 and set up a consulting business. He currently is the co-owner and CEO of BERG Associates, LLC (Business Exposure Reduction Group) and is an expert in the fields of terrorism, aviation security, and crisis and risk management, and money laundering investigations. Johnson is the founder and main author of No Quarter, a weblog that addresses issues of terrorism and intelligence and politics. NoQuarterUSA was nominated as Best Political Blog of 2008.[1] He has worked as a private consultant on issues of international terrorism and security for the U.S. Government and private companies. Johnson has appeared as a consultant and commentator in many major newspapers and news programs.[2]

[edit]Background
Larry Johnson moved to Washington, D.C. in 1979 to begin work on a Ph.D. at the American University. Although he completed successfully all coursework and comprehensive exams, he did not write a dissertation. In 1978 and in 1983-85 he worked in Latin America on community development projects as a community organizer. Returning to the United States in 1985 he joined the Central Intelligence Agency, thanks in part to a letter of recommendation from Republican Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT) that helped to "open doors" for him at the Agency.[3] Johnson entered on duty at the CIA in September 1985 and was a classmate of Valerie Plame. Every member of that class was undercover. After a year in the Career Trainee program, which included a stint with the Afghan Task Force, Johnson was assigned as an analyst in the Middle America Caribbean Division in the Latin American Affairs Office of the Directorate of Intelligence. He received two Exceptional Performance awards and was promoted ultimately to Senior Regional Analyst for Central America.
Johnson remained undercover in the CIA until October 1989, when he resigned from the CIA and started a new job in the Office of Counter Terrorism at the Department of State. Johnson played an instrumental role in launching the Terrorism Rewards program international advertising campaign (working with Diplomatic Security officers Brad Smith and Michael Parks). [4] Johnson also was involved in a variety of crisis management response operations, including the release of hostages from Lebanon and liaison with the Pan Am 103 families. He left government service in October 1993 and started his own business as a consultant.
After leaving government service, Johnson became a frequent guest on many major television news shows when a question of terrorism came up. He was first interviewed by CNN following the capture of Carlos the Jackal. Johnson subsequently appeared on CNN, ABC's Nightline, CBS, the BBC, MSNBC, the Jim Lehrer News Hour, NBC, and NPR. In December of 1999, for example, Johnson was hired by NBC to serve as its terrorist expert for the Y2000 and was in Time Square with Tom Brokaw and Katie Couric ("a lot of fun and the best way to see in the New Year"). Johnson also was hired in January 2002 as a Fox News Analyst and remained under contract until February 2003.
Since 1994 a significant focus of Johnson's consulting work has been with the U.S. military special operations forces in scripting and conducting military counter terrorism exercises. He traveled under orders from the U.S. military to Iraq in May 2006 to work on a short term project.
A registered Republican who supported President Bush in 2000, Johnson became a strong critic of the Bush administration in May 2003 for its conduct of the war in Iraq and, a few months later, for its role in the outing of CIA operative Valerie Plame.[5] He was also featured in the 2004 political documentary Outfoxed: Rupert Murdoch's War on Journalism. Since Robert Novak's controversial disclosure of Valerie Plame as a CIA operative in July 2003, Johnson has contributed to public discourse on intelligence matters, often sparking further controversy. He has been interviewed by both the mass media and the alternative media and published commentaries on a variety of issues, including the Plame affair, the controversy concerning Mary McCarthy, and the resignation of Porter Goss as Director of Central Intelligence.

[edit]1996
In 1996, Johnson noted that terrorism worldwide was on the decline. "Terrorist incidents [both internationally and in the US] have fallen to levels not seen since the 1970s. Whether measured by the number of incidents, the number of fatalities, or the number of groups, raw statistics demonstrate that the level of terrorist violence has declined since the mid-1980s. In fact, the evidence suggests terrorism was more widespread and deadly 10 years ago."[6]
He also wrote an op-ed piece for the New York Times suggesting that the newer and more deadly terrorist threat to the U.S. was embodied by "networks of terrorists, mostly foreign, working within its borders." Exemplifying this threat was Ramzi Yousef, one of the masterminds behind the 1993 attack on the World Trade Center. In the article, Johnson suggests that enhanced cooperation between intelligence agencies, particularly the FBI and CIA, is mandatory to meet the growing threat of terror networks.[7]
[edit]1998
In 1998, Johnson argued that while overall terrorism was declining, the threat from bin Laden and al-Qaeda should be the focus of American counterterrorism policy:
The nature of the threat posed by Bin Ladin is highlighted by my final chart, number 7. Osama Bin Ladin and individuals associated with him have killed and wounded more Americans than any other group. This chart also illustrates that groups such as Hamas and the Tamil Tigers (LTTE) prior to 1998 have killed more foreigners in the anti-US terrorist attacks. If we take into account the bombings of the US Embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, Osama's status as the most lethal terrorist is certain.[8]
In addition, he told USA Today that bin Laden had participated in "virtually every major attack of terrorism against the United States" in the 1990s. Johnson underlined the threat posed by bin Laden, saying that he was possessed by "hatred and craziness." If left unanswered, "he would continue to terrorize Americans around the world. He has no compunction about killing women and children. He's a complete egalitarian in his murderous attitude."[9]
[edit]1999
In an interview with PBS's Frontline for its 1999 program, Hunting bin Laden, Johnson discussed Osama bin Laden.[10] According to Johnson, Americans had "tended to make Osama bin Laden sort of a superman in Muslim garb." "Actually," he continues, "Osama bin Laden, in my view, represents more of a symptom of a problem, and the problem is this: the Saudi Arabian government, not just Osama bin Laden but many people in Saudi Arabia, have been sending money to radical Islamic groups for years." Johnson continued:
When you look at who's killed Americans in the last 10 years, the individuals he's supported and backed--I'm basing that upon the initial information that's been released in the indictments and conversations with others in the intelligence communities--Osama bin Laden has been the one killing Americans. No other terrorist group in the world has been out killing Americans except for Osama bin Laden.... Osama bin Laden remains out there as the one really targeting us. So, we recognize that he's the threat. He's serious about wanting to kill Americans, but as long as he's in Afghanistan, as long as he doesn't have access to a cell phone, as long as he can't just hop on a plane and travel wherever he wants without fear of being arrested, his ability to plan and conduct terrorist operations is extremely limited. We have to recognize [that] he would like to do a lot of damage. He would like to kill Americans, but wanting to is different from being able to, having the full capabilities in place.[11]
In the interview, Johnson doubted the ability of members of bin Laden's organization to plan and put their lives on the line:
There's not another Ali or Mustafa out there at this point and Osama bin Laden in my view has not been a very effective organizer or leader. He talks a great game and puts out terrific threats as far as stirring the passions in the United States and maybe firing up the imaginations of some young Muslims throughout the world. But when push comes to shove, can he get a group of people who are together who will say: we are going to plan an operation, we're going to put our lives on the line, we're going to go out and try and kill people and we don't care what the consequence is? It hasn't happened.[12]
Frontline asked:
[Is it] ... fair to say what you're saying is that the president of the United States, his national security advisor, his deputy national security advisor for counter-terrorism, are basically blowing smoke [about the danger posed by bin Laden] and his followers]?
Johnson responded:
They're grossly exaggerating the problem. They are hyping it. They shouldn't be talking about rising terrorism. Instead of saying "terrorism's rising," it's not. "Terrorism is spreading," it's not. "More people are dying from terrorism," not the case. But what they should be saying is, "There's one individual out there that really doesn't like us, and he's made it his mission in life to kill Americans, and we've gotta deal with him." But we need to have a voice of reason in that process instead of putting ourselves out crying wolf, because this is essentially what's taking place right now. They call it the administration that cries wolf.[12]
[edit]2000
Johnson co-authored an article in 2000 with Milt Bearden which focused on the threat posed by al-Qaeda specifically, rather than terrorism trends in general. Beardon and Johnson note that new information emerging about the bombings at Kenya and Tanzania in 1998 points to the threat posed by Imad Mugniyah and Osama Bin Laden will require "a coordinated policy that will employ a full range of covert, clandestine, diplomatic, and military operations," concluding:
The Clinton Administration has shot its bolt on the terrorist problem with small effect, and no last minute show of force will change the record. A new administration can start afresh with a more sharply defined set of terrorism goals – Mughniyeh and bin Laden and their protectors for starters – and bring the full, coordinated force of American diplomatic, military, and intelligence capabilities to bear on the problem.[13]
[edit]2001
After Johnson's testimony to the special forum at the U.S. Senate, Gary J. Schmitt, executive director and CEO of the Project for the New American Century, refers in the Daily Standard (blog) to an op-ed piece Johnson wrote two months prior to the 9/11 attacks, claiming that Johnson argued that the US had little to fear from terrorism.[14]
In an editorial entitled "The Declining Terrorist Threat," published in the New York Times on 10 July 2001, Johnson says:
Judging from news reports and the portrayal of villains in our popular entertainment, Americans are bedeviled by fantasies about terrorism. They seem to believe that terrorism is the greatest threat to the United States and that it is becoming more widespread and lethal. They are likely to think that the United States is the most popular target of terrorists. And they almost certainly have the impression that extremist Islamic groups cause most terrorism.... None of these beliefs are based in fact.... While terrorism is not vanquished, in a world where thousands of nuclear warheads are still aimed across the continents, terrorism is not the biggest security challenge confronting the United States, and it should not be portrayed that way.[15]
Ten days after the 9/11 attacks, after quoting the above passage, Timothy Noah concludes a post in his "Chatterbox" feature at Slate: "Johnson's analysis, we now see, was bold, persuasive, and 100 percent wrong."[16] Johnson defended himself against such attacks:
The rightwing is resurrecting an op-ed I wrote in July 2001. I stand by the full article. It is still relevant today. I am accused, incorrectly, of ignoring the threat of terrorism. In fact, I correctly noted that the real threat emanated from Bin Laden and Islamic extremism. President Bush, for his part, ignored the CIA warning in August 2001 that Al Qaeda was posed to strike inside the United States.[17]
After September 11, Johnson appeared several times on FOX News to address the question of military action against terrorism. On 14 November, he defended the FBI's proposal to interview 5,000 students in the U.S. suspected of having information relevant to the September 11 investigations:
I think they should talk to everyone that they feel they have a need to talk to. I mean, look, this is war. This is not a legal proceeding. This isn't the O.J. Simpson trial. The folks that attacked us -- they murdered Americans. And we've got to recognize that in wartime, we should do things differently.[18]
[edit]2003
In January 2003, Johnson wrote an analysis of the relationship between the upcoming U.S. invasion of Iraq and the threat of transnational terrorism. According to Johnson, Bremer's response was to tell him that "it didn't matter what Saddam did or didn't do, we were going to war."[19] The paper warned that an invasion would "do little to destroy the infrastructure of radical Islamic terrorism responsible for the 9-11 attacks." Noting that Saddam Hussein's regime has been a longtime supporter of regional terrorist organizations such as the PLO, Johnson examines contacts between Saddam Hussein and transnational terrorist organizations such as al-Qaeda:
There is no doubt that Iraq is a state sponsor of terrorism—i.e., a country that provides financial support, safe haven, training, or weapons and explosives to groups or individuals that carry out terrorist attacks. . . . According to Central Intelligence Agency data, there is no credible evidence implicating Iraq in any mass casualty terrorist attacks since 1991. . . .
Johnson notes that the period immediately leading up to 2003 saw a rise of activity surrounding terrorist Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, suggesting that "Iraq is willing to help a movement that it would otherwise oppose on ideological grounds. Nonetheless," Johnson concludes, "it is important to understand that Iraqi entreaties to Al Qaeda, are most likely intended as a tactic to bolster Iraq’s ability to fight off a U.S. invasion rather than a deep-seated theological and ideological commitment to the terrorist agenda of Bin Laden.[20]
In that analysis Johnson also warns that the U.S.-led invasion was likely to backfire:
In fact there is a serious risk that a U.S. led war against Iraq may crystallize the diffused anger in the Arab and Muslim world — a heretofore unattained goal of bin Laden and his followers — and persuade more Muslim youths to take up the terrorist banner against America and her citizens.... If we decide to invade Iraq we must be prepared for the contingency that our attack will inspire young Muslims to pursue jihad against the West in general and the United States in particular. Just as the 1979 Soviet invasion of Afghanistan rallied many Muslims, especially young adults to the cause of jihad, a U.S. attack may enable Islamic extremists to attract new followers.[20]
Johnson also gave interviews on the topic of what to do with captured al-Qaeda leaders; while he did not condone torture, he suggested that a "sleep deprivation and reward system" might be useful for getting information from Khalid Sheikh Mohammed:
I don't see a constitutional right to have eight hours of sleep. You shouldn't subject someone to freezing but they don't get to wear mink coats, either.[21]
In May 2003, Johnson joined members of Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity (VIPS) in condemning the manipulation of intelligence for political purposes:
It is a misuse and abuse of intelligence. The president was being misled. He was ill served by the folks who are supposed to protect him on this. Whether this was witting or unwitting, I don't know, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.[22]
[edit]Plame affair
After Robert Novak wrote a column identifying the wife of former ambassador Joseph C. Wilson as a CIA officer, the media invited Johnson to comment on the ensuing scandal because he had been a member of the same Career Trainee class with Valerie Plame Wilson. For example, in October 2003, he appeared on Democracy Now to discuss the Plame affair. He told interviewer Amy Goodman that Valerie Wilson's cover should have been respected whether she was an "analyst" or a "cleaning lady": "if she's undercover she's undercover, period. If the media allows themselves to get distracted with those kinds of curve balls, they ignore the issue."[23]
He told a Senate Democratic Policy Committee in October 2003, "My classmates and I have been betrayed. Together, we have kept the secrets of each other's identities a secret for 18 years. Each and every one of us have kept that secret, whether we were in the CIA, in other government service or in the private sector. But this issue is not just about a blown cover. It is about the destruction of the very essence, the core of human intelligence collection activities: plausible deniability, apparently, for partisan domestic political reasons."[24]
Johnson testified at a special joint hearing of Congressional and Senate Democrats on 22 July 2005 about the consequences arising from the Plame affair.[25]
[edit]2008
In 2008, Johnson emerged as a staunch supporter of Hillary Clinton and a strong critic of Barack Obama. Larry Johnson's blog, NoQuarterUSA, became a rally point for Clinton supporters wary of Barack Obama's qualifications to be president. Supporters of Barack Obama insist that a story that first appeared on Johnson's blog--a report that Republican operatives have a tape of Michelle Obama making racially insenstive comments about caucasians--has been "refuted" Barack Obama's Fight the Smears website.[26]. However, Johnson never claimed to have the tape and reported that the Republican operatives controlling it intended to release the tape sometime after the Democratic Convention in August 2008. On October 21, however, he asserted that the operative in possession of the tape had been instructed by the McCain campaign not to release it.[27]

It is, to be sure, a little bit cheap (and slightly at odds with the usual parameters of this feature) to criticize someone for making an erroneous prediction, particularly after a tragedy. Chatterbox is especially reluctant to tag Johnson because Johnson's op-ed was argued forcefully, backed up meticulously with factual data, and bravely at odds with conventional wisdom at the time of its publication. Add in that Johnson now makes his living as a consultant to corporations about terrorism, and therefore had everything to gain by exaggerating the dangers terrorism poses, and the guy practically looks like a hero. Chatterbox, who two decades ago was an editor for the New York Times op-ed page, would have published Johnson's piece had he still been an editor there this past July. In his capacity at Slate, Chatterbox might well have written up Johnson's prediction, and perhaps even endorsed it.
But boy, is he glad he didn't! Johnson's analysis, we now see, was bold, persuasive, and 100 percent wrong. Sadly, a mistake this embarrassing cannot be ignored. As a fellow skeptic, Chatterbox in all sincerity wishes Johnson better luck next time.

The full-court press to force Hillary from the presidential race ain’t working. She will win the West Virginia, Kentucky, and Puerto Rico primaries.
But the screwed-up, patchwork system the Democrats are using to choose delegates has given small states, which are unlikely to be in the Democratic column come November, inordinate influence.
At the same time, the big states that will play an instrumental role in the November general election–New York, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Ohio, Florida, Texas, and California–are being treated like they are Iowa and Idaho.
It will boil down to the decision of the super delegates.
I am a pessimist. Even though Hillary is the one who wins the big states that will count in the fall, the “supers” appear to be moving toward Obama. Even though Hillary has more popular votes and polls much better among the Reagan democrats, the supers appear to be moving toward Obama.
Hillary’s only hope is that the super delegates will come to their senses and realize that Barack Obama’s relationships with the corrupt Tony Rezko, the racist-wife stealing Jeremiah Wright, and the unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers will provide the Republicans with ammunition they have never had at hand to use against the Democrats’ candidate. This is particularly true of that flag stomper, Bill Ayers.
Think not? Just read what the execrable Bob Novak wrote today:
The test of Obama’s strategy may be his friendship with and support from William Ayers, an unrepentant member of the Weathermen terrorist underground of the 1960s and ’70s. Instead of totally disavowing Ayers as he belatedly did his former pastor, Obama potentially deepened his problem by referring to Ayers as just a college professor — “a guy who lives in my neighborhood.” He then compared their relationship to his friendship with conservative Republican Sen. Tom Coburn, just as he compared Wright’s racism to his white grandmother’s.
Democrats abhor bringing up what Obama calls Ayers’s “detestable acts 40 years ago,” but they will be brought into the public arena even if that is not McCain’s style of politics. A photo of Ayers stomping on the American flag in 2001 has been all over the Internet this week. That was the year Obama accepted a $200 political contribution from Ayers and the year in which the former Weatherman said: “I don’t regret setting bombs; I feel we didn’t do enough.”
While McCain will not demand a response from Obama, others will. How the prospective nominee handles this will help define whether he is seen as flawed or fantastic in the long campaign ahead.
We may now understand why Barack does not wear a flag lapel pin. He’s afraid that Bill Ayers will stomp on him. In reality, it will be the relationship with Bill Ayers that will empower the Republicans to destroy the candidacy of Barack Obama.
This is not a question of whether or not the Republicans will use this material. They will. So what is there to find? That is the area of greatest danger for the Democrats. Obama has lied about his longstanding relationship with Bill Ayers.
Why? What is he hiding? As I have pointed out before, 1995 was a critical year in the Obama/Ayers relationship. It was in 1995 that Barack was tabbed by Ayers to be the Chairman of the Annenberg Challenge (a failed $50 million project). That same year, Barack sat at a kitchen table with Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, Bill’s wife, a plotted the ouster of Alice Palmer, who Obama took down in order to secure his place in the Illinois state senate.
If the Super Delegates do not insist on a full and complete disclosure from Barack Obama about his ties to Bill Ayers, the Republicans will force the issue in the fall. It is one thing to have a name that sounds like the terrorist who attacked us on 9-11. But it is an entirely different matter to be close friends with an unrepentant terrorist who bombed U.S. Government buildings.
There is no where to run. The relationship is genuine. This is a stonewall that will not stand.
Larry - I just do not understand how Ayers and Dorn can get tenured positon on University Faculy’s. I heard his father is big on the contributions, however is there no limit on what money will buy?
I’m sure Bill Ayer’s father had a hand in that.
Whats goiing on in Chicago and Illinois Politics and thier Universitys demonstarte every thing that is wrong with America…
As far as that Pig Ayers is concerned…Its too bad he wasn’t with His Girlfriend in that Twonhouse when the Bomb Blew Up..At leats there are Three less Terrorist of William Ayers Ilk to to be around getting attention and selling Books like Ayers…
What a hypocrite…
Good Job Larry and NQ…..Keep up the pressure…..I heard on the BBC that McCain mentioned how happy HAMAS was about Obama’s possible nomination…..I think you are getting through….I also hold out the hope for Hillary….Is there anything to the linkage of the Oama Campaign to the Chechen Terrorists ?
“She will win the West Virginia, Kentucky, and Puerto Rico primaries.
But the screwed-up, patchwork system the Democrats are using to choose delegates has given small states, which are unlikely to be in the Democratic column come November, inordinate influence.”
Small states like West Virginia and Kentucky, which will be red in November, and Puerto Rico, which doesn’t get to vote for president in November? So even if she wins them, we should ignore them.
You should talk about red states? Do you think Obama is going to carry those states he won that haven’t gone Democratic since the 60s? The guy hasn’t garnered one single swing state democrats need to win. He not only couldn’t win them, he insulted every one of them. Even Massachusetts is against him and I don’t they they EVER went republican before. His polls there are Dismal. Just plain Dismal. But then they know Deval Patrick. He’s not even polling well in New York for Chrissakes. I venture to say that Barack Obama as a candidate would get the lowest vote percentage in a GE we have ever seen. Even worse than Dukakis or McGovern. I myself would be looking forward to it.
LOOK LIKE MCCAIN IS GOING TO SKIP INTO THE WHITE HOUSE JUST LIKE OBAMA SKIPPED IN TO THE ILL LEGISLATURE.
SOUNDS GOOD TO ME, I AM OFFENDED THAT HE WAS LOW CLASSED ENOUGH TO GIVE THE FINGER TO A FORMER FIRST LADY ON NATIONAL TV WHILE SEEKING THE HIGHEST OFFICE IN THE LAND.
ALSO LETS NOT FORGET THAT HE IS THE REASON FL AND MI VOTERS ARE BEING DISENFRANCHIZED.
SO I HOPE HIS LITTLE TERROIST FRIENDS REALLY DO HIM IN AND I DON’T THINK MCCAIN WILL BE ALL THAT BAD.
No, apparently Obama has just decided he’s the winner in that election, too, just like in the democratic primaries.
He’s having his Cheney 4th branch moment, batshit crazy, and he hasn’t even hit the White House, yet…
This does not bode well…
Tell McCain to go home, Obama’s says it over…
I have never read such pathetic smears as on this blog. Larry Johnson is showing his ignorance and mccarthyisms in full force…prove that bill ayers and bernadette dorn ‘plotted’ to keep alice palmer out of the race - she said she would have done the same thing and admitted her signatures were illegitimate.
and prove that Obama gave the finger to Hillary - look at the video from the undoctored angle and you will see the fact that he had two fingers on his cheek.
this is so ridiculous and I cannot believe you people are so filled with hatred that you carry on like this.
when are we going to hear about Hillary former employers, two communists who defended the Black Panthers…wow!! you won’t hear about it because NO ONE is trying to bring her down based on her associations. He weathered the wright and bittergate storm….and still stands. give it up.
Gee you seem upset. You probably shouldn’t come back because we have just gotten started.
He’s fired up, and ready to go…
And here comes the campfire scene from Blazing Saddles…
I think the bama’s plan is to portray Mccain as crazy, and unstable, projecting again, given who deals with terrorists as part of the IL combine, and such.
Again a hard truth about Obama, like or not, it’s true, no matter how hard axelrove spins himself.
AxelRove…..Thats Good…
When the GOP gets through with swiftboating Obama — just about ALL voters would vote McCain — even if he were dead (which he won’t be!)
Hillary has already proven that Obama is a loser. You all know the must win states she’s won and the red states Obama has won.
The corporate media is really doing a job on the audience — this is called brainwashing.
If the media merely reported the FACTS — I believe everyone here would be jumping for joy.
What is really amusing is that these psy games are really transparent night.
So we have the LOSER — acting like he’s the winner. And the corporate media is playing along — why? Because the key word is CORPORATE — they are funding a nobody guy with zero experience and they want their money’s worth!
Turn off the tv — watch movies — or anything besides giving ratings to corporate whores.
No one will prove to the Obama Democrats that an inexperienced Black man with volatile connections can’t win the White House until they see it for themselves…and then it will be too late. Of course, it will all be Hillary’s fault.
I had a horrible thought yesterday, that on May 20 Obama will declare victory and MSNBC and CNN will report it as if it’s news. Isn’t that how dictators are placed into position?
What a mess! I still have hope though.
President Hillary Clinton is Inevitable!
And I guess that’s why she was campaigning for Clinton?
You have to tell the truth about what you see, otherwise you end up as stupid as Cheney’s crew, or Obama’s, diapered, incapable of accurate decisions.
I mean, look at your head, always trying to prove a negative, why would anyone want to die with a head like that?
It’s failure.
If you were speaking to me, and McCain is corrupt, he’ll be diapered, like Obama is, like Bush, adn Cheney are.
And Clinton might pull it out, why don’t the trolls ever think, how are YOU being psy opsed?
But given the republican trolls have lost three wars, well, I guess that says it all.
Leonore dear - cool it. I can see you are Obama’s supporter and that is fine - however use you logic and look objectively at Obama and ask yourself what from Obama’s past would qualify him to be the president of ths country. I can help you there - NOTHING. Now lets flip the question and ansk what would disqualify him from the White House. I think to many facts to even list here. Obama will NEVER be president
McCain will be bad, and we had better fight for hillary Clinton.
This is NOT OVER YET.
The Republicans are pulling what they did in 2000:
cable news kept screaming at Al Gore to stop counting the FL votes, because
it was ‘HURTING AMERICA.” And “AMERICANS JUST WANT TO MOVE ON.”
They lulled us into making the EASY decision.
They LULLED US INTO A PRESIDENT THAT HAS MURDERED THOUSANDS OF INNOCENT PEOPLE, PUT PEOPLE OUT OF THEIR HOMES, AND IMPOVERISHED MIDDLE CLASS FAMILIES.
IF WE DON’T KEEP FIGHTING, WE ARE FINISHED, MY FRIEND.
Cut the crap using all caps. Your message is good enough without the shouting.
I like his caps, the mix, the individuality, here.
Yeah He is using caps for emphasis….Droz heres a shout BUG OFF !
For what I THOUGHT were noble reasons (banning Fox news, never going to Walmart, etc)
is now proving to me why DEMS continue to LOSE. If you refuse to WATCH your
enemyopposition then you never see it coming. How simple yet somehow we fail to see it. For NOBLE reasons.
argh! WAKE UP DEMS!
Amen to that. I did the same thing the Obama boyz are doing this year in 2004. Never again. I’ll always have my eyes wide open, browse conservative sites etc. just to see what is coming down the pike.
And I am the eternal optimist. And Hillary’s warriors will fight tooth and nail by all legal means available to secure Hillary the nomination.
If Hillary can show courage under fire, so can I! We need to make sure Hillary has the funds to make it to the finish line.
History teaches us a small group of people fighting for the survival of their nation can fend off evil of seemingly insurmountable magnitude. I speak of England and how they were able to fend off the German Blitzkrieg long enough for the US to step in and help defeat Germany.
Right can defeat might!
But I respect you Larry anyway.
Lion
President and Commander-in-Chief Hillary Clinton is inevitable!
I wonder if any one knows what the big thing is that will be revealed that is supposed to sink Obama’s campaign.
He’s nuts.
I was watching Fox news a couple of days ago and they were interviewing Rove. They were discussing Obama’s connection with Ayers and that fact that he had bombed the Pentagon, etc; They named three buildings. The interviewer asked if the voters were aware of the Ayers issue and Rove said not at this point in time. It was obvious that this was going to be a Republican line of attack against Obama if he was the Dem nominee in the GE.
And it’s the truth, for once the Republicans can campaign with the truth, and legitimately destroy a candidate.
McCain would not have this option with Clinton.
Republicans will hurt the country, McCain will hurt his presidency, but he will win.
Obama has a lot of gas around him, he’s all floss, nothing, at all in terms of substance.
And I wonder, what happens when Obama is provoked, does he melt down?
Declaring himself winner, already, looks a little kooky.
It’s as though he’s being allowed to get wa-a-a-a-a-a-y-y-y-y-y up there so he drops faster and harder, isn’t it?
A little kooky?
How about psychopathic?
(psy·cho·path (sī’kə-pāth’)
n. A person with an antisocial personality disorder, manifested in aggressive, perverted, criminal, or amoral behavior without empathy or remorse.
Sound like anyone we know? Or His followers?
“And it’s the truth, for once the Republicans can campaign with the truth, and legitimately destroy a candidate.
McCain would not have this option with Clinton.”
(sigh)
think burkle. think whitewater, flowers, willey, jones, rich, lewinsky, travelgate, doa health care reform, clinton foundation donors, etc., etc., etc. 1200 pages of dirt sitting in the rnc offices on clinton, waiting to come to a 527 campaign near you.
you poor souls. reality is such a distraction.
And she still became a senator…twice…with a 65% approval rating..twank. She’s already been vetted by Ken Star and the 65 million spent. All they got Bill on was a blow job. Old news sweetie, what else ya got? She could eat you alive. That’s why bambi won’t debate her again. He’s a limp wristed, pansy. And there’s no way repugs will cross over for him in the GE and now Brazille and Obama and wright have pissed off white dem males, older dem females, garlic noses, JFK dems, jewish folks, and my neighbor’s cat. And you still think you’re going to take the GE? Good luck!
Oh yes — can’t forget about the cats — they poop in shoes if they get pissed. Do. Not. Piss. Off. Cats!
NWR, pooping in shoes? I wish. My neighbor’s cat is so pissed, he sits on our fence and laments about Obama… starting at about 3AM…every night…for hours. He’s one angry Hillary kitty.
My cat loves Hillary. Every time she’s on TV, he watches her, I swear. He’s smarter than Obambi’s followers!
no, i don’t think obama’s going to win the general.
but if you think clinton has been fully vetted, you really need to lay off the hallucinogins.
the reeps will revisit all the crap from the clinton admin, plus all the crap they’ve been involved with since 2000. and none of that — NONE of it — has gotten any scrutiny at all — yet.
except for the bosnian snipers. and the gas tax pander. and…
Don’t start with the Bosnian sniper. My husband served as back fill for Bosnia. It was dangerous there. Imagine Laura Bush going to Iraq. Hillary was a high value target. If you were her Secret service Agent, you would have been worried about snipers.
He’s a republican troll, he can’t see much that’s real.
I can’t believe you are still pushing this bullshit. Bosnia may have been a dangerous country but she was never, ever under any threat. Frankly, there are parts of Iraq I can go to today and be fine.
Why can’t any of you ever admit she made a mistake?
If you just turned around and said “wow, that was really dumb” you’d have a lot more credibility.
Bwaaaaana…..WHAT ABOUT THE LINKS BETWEEN OBAMAS CAMPAIGN AND CHECHEN TERRORISTS ?…..How bout that ?
Please provide.
Nope, those were manufactured, at best marginal issues, Obama deals with terrorist enablers, I would venture individuals labeled enemies of the US.
Big differende, try to think, it’ why your trolls can’t win wars, inferior intellcts.
MCCAIN has been through the swift boat thang….I do not think that he relishes constanly being denounced as RACIST for any criticism of OBAMA…..who would….Obamas campaign aside from his corruption has been bad for the country…..Anyone who does not support him is a racist ( if you are a non AA = CRACKER ) OR you are labled an ( Uncle Tom or House N****R ) if you are an AA. The whole thing is so VICIOUS…..
I think that the Obamacrats have played the whiny “racist” card against Hillary Clinton so often that if they dusted it off and used it against McCain they would be greeted with yawns, cries of “oh not again” and silence. Crying wolf does have it’s little consequences.
Details and plenty of background links after the break.
Barack Obama has a new entanglement with unrepentant Weatherman Bill Ayers which I detail below. The gist is this - back in the mid-90’s Bill Ayers was instrumental in the creation and early operation of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, an effort committed to the reform of Chicago’s public schools. Barack Obama was Chairman of the Board of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, which suggests he worked closely with Ayers for several years.
Yet in his recent nationally televised appearances and at his website, Obama fails to mention this Ayers entanglement. Why so coy? It’s hard to believe he actually forgot his executive role in this important foray into public policy; that said, the Chicago Challenge foundered on the hard rocks of Chicago politics and was widely viewed as ineffective, so perhaps he would prefer not to highlight his failure to bring people together and produce real change.
Or maybe Obama was a do-nothing figurehead who honestly forgot that Bill Ayers was running the show. Awkward spin, that. In any case, there is also a question of shared values. Ayers brings a highly progressive approach to education - dare we ask whether Obama shares his values?
Details and plenty of background links after the break.
With Ayers, two themes are emerging:
(1) It’s not the crime, it’s the cover-up - why can’t Obama manage to deliver a clear answer about his relationship with Ayers? It has long been reported that they both sat on the board of the Woods Fund of Chicago. We now also know that Ayers helped found the Chicago Annenberg Challenge Fund, with Obama as the first Chairman of the Board. We also know that Obama, Thomas Ayers (Bill Ayers father) and John Ayers (Bill’s brother) all served on the Leadership Council of the Chicago Public Schools Education Fund (described here as “the successor” to the Chicago Annenberg Challenge project).

Maybe his lame ass excuse will be the same as his excuse as to why he’s never shown up to his Afghanistan Committee he’s is some chair of yet has not held one damn meeting????
He’s just doin all this for prestige and NOT doing the work just doing what someone is telling him he has to do to climb the ladder ahead of everyone else that’s actually doing the HARD WORK!
all those empty votes from the BO empty suit, job titles with no there, there, professor? lecturer? huh?
lol jezzzzzzzz
just an idea
Wasn’t it the actions of the Weathermen and their comrades who strongly divided the Democratic Party, thus giving the USA the Nixon presidency?
This selection of a Democratic candidate is a battle in a larger war. Its like the British East India Company vs. American Independence war will never end.
“A Republic, if you can keep it,” said Ben Franklin.
Keep up the good fight! Also, go to HillaryClinton.com and contribute. Even $5.00 helps. I chipped in $220 yesterday to ‘Our Girl’ Let’s go!!
You are a saint!
Thanks!
President and Commander-in-Chief Hillary Clinton is inevitable!
Obama has traveled internationally to Africa and Indonesia, but he has never travel to or even through Europe.
Rev. Write expresses his blatant hostility towards white “Europeans.”
Obama doesn’t wear a U.S. flag lapel pen.
Obama’s friend and business associate, Bill Ayers, stomps on the American flag.
I smell a theme here … do themes have an odor?
This one does: dog shit.

President and Commander-in-Chief Hillary Clinton is inevitable!
“Obama doesn’t wear a U.S. flag lapel pen.”
neither does clinton. neither does mccain.
you want this election to be about jewelry??
pathetic…
No it’s about the narrative that all that creates. Only 29% of the country believe that he’s patriotic.
Please provide a link to that bullshit statistic.
While its true that a number do think he’s a muslim, you can thank HRC and her followers for perpetuating that line.

“but I’ve got these abandonment issues”
what a perfect idea for a President!!
All I can say is I am glad there will be more of us in November than there will be of them. Unfortunately we lost another golden opportunity to actually elect a democrat. Do we pick a democrat? Nope. We pick a man with the resume the size of a postage stamp who hates white people, hates women, hates uneducated people, has surrogates who are threatening savages, uses the Race Card every 15 minutes, has more than a few dubious connections with terrorism, both domestic AND foreign, and calls himself a “uniter”. No wonder we have only elected two democratic presidents in thirty years. We pick completely out of touch assholes as candidates.
That’s the same B.S. Bush pulled to win the 2000 election - no resume, hates people loves corporations, uniter not a divider, then was the most divisive president in modern history.
You forgot his other similarity: A middle east conflict. You can bet that’s why Bin Laden never was caught. I mean they had inter-family dealings. Now I see Obama and all these pakistanis coming here and raising big bucks for him. I see Hamas endorsing him. I see a former PLO bundler. Cold call centers in Gaza City. I see Auchi, and he recently had to donate money given to him by Aiham Alsammarae. Zbigniew “Oooo Rahhh Jihad!” Brezinski. These people are not a good omen. And to top it off, he is even affiliated with domestic terrorists. He’s got the whole enchilada rooting for him.
The Dem party just proves the old adage- “What’s the definition of insanity? Continuing to do the same thing over and over again while expecting different results.” McGovern,Dukakis, Mondale, Kerry, Obama.
The lunatics are running the asylum!
You find that bad, you should see how Bush runs the war…
All of Washington, isn’t it?
Can’t they arrest him (potentially) for the money laundering thing?
Barack Obama wouldn’t get arrested for murder if he committed it. He’s from Chicago. The only way to get rid of this character is to make sure he’s not elected. When they are done exposing his middle eastern connections and after people get sick and tired of watching those crackpot surrogates threaten everybody on TC, that should be easy.

How old b u
Old enough to recognize a bullshitter when I see one.
Since apparently nothing of consequence is going to come out of the Rezko trial, I think it’s probably doubtful that any legal problems that would stick will be brought to our attention very soon. On the off chance that he gets the nomination and wins the GE, however, it might enable the repubs to start impeachment pretty soon after the swearing in.
Much of consequence has already come from Rezko, period.
You can’t ignore information because you think it won’t affect an election, Obama, for anyone who can read, is a criminal POS.
What are the implications?
Does the CIA, NSA, FBI just let it go?
What about big business, how do they fit in, other than the usual?
Or do people stay in a childlike fairy tale and think it’ll be OK, because they THINK they dodged a bullet?
It’s like they’re trying to hustle a drunk Obama through the alley, hoping no one will get a picture.
THAT picture is already on the cover of the post, that’s the reality.
You betcha. The Republicans won’t take ANYTHING off the table. I’ll give them that.
No, because you’d have to actually prove it rather than make anonymous accusations on the internet.
I will never vote for Obama because of his relationship with Ayers. People have fond memories of the 60’s, but I remember the insanity and the bloodshed, too.
I’m a life long Dem, a bleeding heart even, and I can’t stand the people Obama hangs out with, can’t stand the hatred towards the US that comes from them. If I can’t stomach Obama, then he is really not electable.
Not matter what happens, I will be eternally grateful to Hillary for staying in this race. Not only is she a ground breaking role model for girls and women, she’s fighting for this country with everything she’s got.
This election is one of those deals where it’s bigger than you, me, Hillary Clinton, or Barak Obama. The next POTUS will be selecting a SCROTUS justice or two. Do you want another Scalia clone on the bench? Do you want to see a reactionary activist SCROUTS denying a woman’s right to choose? DO you want another 2000 Florida decision where the SCROTUS selected George Bush denying state’s rights? Then vote for McCain or don’t vote at all.
Unless Barak wimps out ala that other Axlerodian Candidate Deval Patrick (D-French-sounding-given-name)and reaches across the aisle to approve some republican Cro-Magnon for Justice we need a Democrat in the White House.
That’s why I’m thinking of starting Democrats Against McCain-Uninted. The acronym is my salute to all the Omamaziods out there.
Sorry but from reading talkleft, Obama is going to nominate Cass Susstein, a judge who thinks Roe v. Wade was wrongly decided. There is absolutely no reason in the world to vote for Obama at this point.
Yes, thats right, Obama has already provided a detailed list of people he will appoint. You caught him. Thats not just something someone suggested on the internet.
Susan and Larry, everyone contributing here does such good work, so many people I know look forward to NQ, are very happy it’s here…
In the end, it doesn’t matter — Obama is red meat.
If Obama is the nominee, I’m returning to my conservative sites and going to do my patriotic duty to sink BOTH domestic terrorists. No unity here, traitors have no business in government (and yes, I consider fellow travellers traitors as they CHOOSE to associate with undesireable elements that want to destroy America).
Have zero respect for Obama. And if the DNC pushes such an candidate as the presidential nominee, they PROVE that the GOP was right — liberals hate America.
I can see it now: The Ayers pic above, along with CA liberal Moonies holding up a placard telling troops to kill their officers.
Way to go DNC, you could reunite the GOP when the wings themselves couldn’t even rally around McInsane!!
Obama is no Liberal–not even close.
General Wesley Clark is a self-described and proud Liberal. Are you really going to try to claim he “hates America?”
Why don’t you try telling him that to his face?
I’m a self-described and proud Liberal, and I dare you to tell me that to my face.
Oh, and by the way–it was nutcases like Bill Ayers who made “Liberal” a dirty word in this country 40 years ago.
You might want to re-think your use of it as a pejorative.
I can seperate the wings, as I myself am from a wing of conservatism (Traditional conservatism). But I’m not blind to what I’ve seen since the 60s of the radicals in Democrat party. They spit on our fathers returning from Vietnam. They gave us welfare that destroyed the Black community worse than Jim Crow (by robbing them of even pride). They want to turn America in a communist state with all of the problems even the Soviets despise.
It’s one thing it’s some two-bit backyard congressman, but this is the POTUS we’re talking about. S/he will represent ALL America, not terrorist thugs who feel executing US citizens is a right — and denied even a court proceeding that even murderers get.
That’s how fucked up THAT wing is in your party, that is tolerated and even fed (look back at those CA moonies holding placards to kill officers in our armed services back in 2003; to the Berkeley recruitment flap in 2008) — so much to be a potential presidential candidate.
Conservatives et al will see a fringe radical Dem stomping on the flag and intent to blow up institutions like McVeigh (and you saw how conservatives treated even a Right wing nutjob, right??), and they only see a liberal yet again pissing on this country.
To conservatives patriotism and country aren’t just flags and slogans. It represents who and what we are, and the vision of our Founders. It’s our duty to protect each, not piss and stomp one and then change the other overnight for some pinhead’s idea of Utopia.
I see Ayers who wants to destroy America. I see a terrorist who needs to join MacVeigh. Brass tacks time, I’ll even string up that bastard myself — don’t tread on the USA, asshole, NEVER! >:(
Chris…You have to respect the Fact that most of us here are Democrats or Moderates..Liberal on some issues..conservates on others…and do Not believe in PARTY UBER ALLES..if we recognize that Our Party is being taken over by InfilTRAITORS..and
INDIDELS ..ho don’t have the Guts to tell The American people the Truth…They are NOT Amricans in the Typical sense…They are Terrorists, Gangsters, Radicals..Revolutionarys…and they have Packaged THIER SLICK WILLY CANDIDATE..and Trotted Him Out to Lie and decieve…
We here, like Larry Johnson did in the Very beginning with the Bush Administartion call Bullshit on Obama and His CADRE…
You should respect that..Its not easy for those of us who truely love the Democrat Party or the United States of America to see this Happening to Our party or Our Nation..
This is not an Election, its a COUP by Infil”TRAITORS”
Our Hope is that Hillary will get the Nomintion..She is Wonderful, and I am very Proud of Her..What a fighter..She eared the nomination and this should have been HER YEAR..
Instead, A Group of Radical zealots in Chicago felt they could CAPTURE the Nomination as a Backlash to the Bush Administration..
Obamas Friends appear to hate the United States Government and the American flag..
Where is J. Edgar when You Need him…??
I have a better alternative, and this is meant for everyone, not necessarily ChrisXP:
Let’s have faith in Hillary. She has made it this far and all I see the negativity doing is sapping our morale, strength and spirit to fight on.
As it is said, when the going gets tough the tough get going.
The pro-Obama people have an advantage over us, with their blind allegiance — its easier for them to fight us as their minds are more free and devoid of distraction. What I am suggesting is the rugged individualists that are Hillary supporters think about just saying what the outcome will be (Hillary winning) and working towards it. Sometimes us thinkers “think too much” and end up cutting off our own noses to spite our faces. I know people like to think “what if,” but that is anxiety or fear of the future.
You certainly will never propel Hillary to victory when you are down, fearful and anxious.
Aren’t there any military people here? I am not, but I know enough that you can’t win a battle worrying if you might lose the battle.
I see this struggle as epic. We can’t afford to let Obama get the nomination, period. It sets a horrific precedent, one that future generations will curse us for.
And we are at war with a would-be tyrant. I won’t lay down for him. And I won’t lay down for him thinking “well McCain will beat his ass due to Ayers, Wright, etc.”
McCain will be a disaster for America as well, not a tyrant, but a disaster none the less. You people forget the clock is ticking on major global issues that we don’t have the luxury of time to ignore anymore? I would fight to elect McCain over Obama, but we don’t have time to wait four years for Hillary to try again. And writing in Hillary or starting a third party is impractical even though a romantic notion, with the exception of a state that has no chance of going to Obama if a bunch of people go the romantic route. Sending a statement would be wise in that case.
The desire to seek revenge on Obama by letting McCain defeat him is also a non-starter for me. Is a few moments of pleasure worth the much higher costs I suggest to you?
I will be setting up my own blog now and hope to be sharing some ideas with my newfound friends here shortly — including a neat fundraising idea.
My leaving has nothing to do with the tone of this comment, I’ve been waiting for the blog software to get installed and I purchased a second domain for a second blog for a totally cool project. So anyway, I have to tend to these things and will pop in here once I am set-up and ready to go, probably in a few days.
I’ve learned a lot here and shall return.
Defeatists are self-defeating. Warriors may “lose,” but always win some dignity in the process of fighting the good fight.
I did a little test, only a couple people adopted my sig/tag-line. I think this proves my main point: too much negativity in the air if you ever hope to defeat Obama. And the trolls feed into this, they are always spreading doubt. I don’t find it prudent to help them.
Food for thought!
Regards,
Patriotic Lion
President and Commander-in-Chief Hillary Clinton is inevitable!
Actually, I see, from Obama, the biggest group of moronic wannabes I have ever witnessed, laughable.
Do you think Dean has made any connection between his magical thinking, and Bush and Cheney’s on Iraq?
Both face the same problems with their “plans” and both keep digging in, deeper and deeper, with no end in sight, band aids everywhere on the victim.
So, even if it were to happen, and Obama gets the nomination, or the white house even, how will the little terrorist enabler be trolled, then, to what end?
And he can’ tell, because men who take money from the IL combine, are OK, it’s really no problem, at all, they all do it, right?
And anyone who speaks up, well, he’ll just smear them, the Rove way, because it all worked SO well for Rove, bait and switch, gotcha!meatballs on a sub, the usual Rove menu…
And then they go further into denial, making more bad decisions, when it fails, and they dont know why.
I might have joined the let McCain beat Obama’s ass club if Hillary loses — if I thought we had 4 years. But I am serious when I say we don’t. And this 4 year theory, McCain could end up in a war and then we are stuck with him for another 4 years.
I just thought of something, perhaps some of us Hillary supporters are also acting like ostriches / or that rectal cranial inversion guy?
I can’t ignore the state of the world issues and the fact we are almost at the point of no return. I get the feeling Hillary is aware of this and is one of her reasons for hanging tough — she knows we are out of time and she knows the other two guys don’t have the skills she has to save us from ourselves.
People are so clueless what is going on around them it is scary.
The battle is only half finished for me, no downtime, fear or anxiety.
Unlike Democrats and Republicans who have to watch out for their party’s interests, as an independent conservative I have no such collars.
Obama’s red meat before the BBQ.
I went after Bush when he went after the Constitution and into Empire building; I won’t blink an eye going after a flaming liberal with a terrorist in tow.
It’s always been country before party for me.
Chris, get it through your head: Barack Obama is NOT a Liberal. None of his advisors or associates, past or present, is a Liberal.
He praises Reagan and Bush I and disses Bill Clinton. He’s for privatizing Social Security and against UHC. I believe he’s suggested he’d consider making Chuck Hagel SoD. His economic advisors are all Milton Friedman/Chicago School trickle-down idealogues. He’s totally in the bag for Exelon and Big Oil.
In other words, he’s a Republican Trojan horse, and hates liberals at least as much as you do.
You can state that until you’re blue in your face, but conservatives see him as liberal with his pants on fire.
I don’t write the rules, that’s just how it is: Obama will be typecast as yet another Berkeley flake.
Chris…I beg to differ…Conservatives see Obama as a RADICAL
But in that equation there is little difference in the association between liberals and radicals….Obama surrounds himself with both and it is that New Left Power Brokers and The Left Radical fringe……Democrats make the same associations….
Conservatives with the Extremist MORALITY FRINGE…..
Chris
Here’s the deal. Obama is a radical who is masquerading as a centrist since he’s been in the senate. His voting record in IL is the polar opposite from his current stances and his senate voting record.
Perhaps that helps you understand where the above poster is coming from. On issues, he is stupidly campaigning like a Republican but his personal history is extremely radical. It’s the best way I know to reconcile the two facts.
Especially when they can pull up stats like this http://nj.nationaljournal.com/voteratings/
If Obama somehow manages to win the presidency, which is highly unlikely, his supporters are in for a big shock. The Great Obama is going to be one the biggest disappointments of their lives. I was just reading at Talk Left that Obama is likely to pick Artur Davis for Attorney General. What a joke!

Will this turn out to be script straight from the “Turner Diaries” in the end? White/Black (and insert every other ethnic and racial group) into a war solely over race, and nothing but?
Forty years of striving for racial harmony, keeling over due multi-culturalism and “payback” mentality.

The reason the superdelegates are coming out for Obama or switched their support from Hillary to Obama is because Obama is probably offering them alot of money, with the exception of Richardson, Kerry, and Kenedy. Hey! That’s a thought. Maybe the Republicans are using the Patriot Act thing and recording those telephone calls so they can use them against Obama in the GE. Hmmmm. Richardson, Kerry, and Kennedy just don’t like the fact that Hillary (a woman) can actually win an election and they couldn’t. They are not stupid - they know she has the passion, knowledge and experience than anyone else who has held that job in a very long time, but I genuinely beleive they do not want to be outdone by a woman.
Well, you could ask Patrick Fitzgerald and the FBI about the Patriot Act, recording terrorists, Rezko, Auchi, and Alsammarae, right?
Or is that too out there?
Yes it does put a chink in their perceived manliness doesn’t it?
I think the SDs are just plain afraid to not give the nomination to a black man. I know that they know he has many more skeletons that will fall out of the closet but they really won’t have a choice.
It’s all kind of sad because SDs were put in place to intercede when they think they might lose with a particular candidate. I have a previous post here about the purpose of SDs and how the McGovern children made it happen. But doing what they were intended to do is a lot harder in practice than it is in real life under the best of circumstances. I would not like to be an SD right now because I know they know they are going to lose an election if they don’t intercede, but in the same light, they feel they can’t intercede. I also think, but it’s only my thought, that the “undecideds” are people who understand that we are about to lose a general election and they are just hoping that some crap hits Obama’s fan again in time to intercede. To be sure, they are watching. They wouldn’t be undecided if they weren’t. If that’s not the case in their minds, they also know that it’s not smart to cut off primary voters in mid-stream. It ticks them off. If Obama had 2025 on his own, that would be another story. He does not. He is just as dependent on SDs as Hillary is. In any event, NO SD is totally “committed” to ANYONE until they actually cast a convention vote. So they will ALL be watching, committed or not–right up until August.
I think the SD’s are waiting for more dirt…..They have to have a good case….Hillary’s case for MI & FL….and Obamas electability….Clinton may have more ( quiet ) support than most folk realize…..
They’ve even publicly said via ambinder and crawford that they know Obama will lose the election but that they feel pressured to endorse him.
Nope. Influence.
Found it interesting how Sam Nunn jumped onto Obama’s bandwagon — he the Blue in Blue Dog Democrats — and it made sense if he had some promise on policy (Nunn’s been involved with disarmament, so add it with North Korea and Iran now).
Seems Obama is promising the kitchen sink, and for those politicos in heavy Black districts, they really have little choice but to take the crumbs.
Tammany Hall 2008.
Let’s see.. I think Kerry was piloting a boat on the Mekong river 40 years ago. No way THAT could have been an issue in the 2004 campaign!
Har har!
Martin Luther King Jr. espoused nonviolence as a catalyst for change.
Obama’s closest friends and supporters disagree with that.
As for money donated “to charity” would any of that be voting registration groups who want to get other Democrats stripped off voting rolls and ballots like Obama did in Illinois to get his first state Senate seat?
Would it be donations to a GD America preacher/wifestealer, or religious initiative money?
Would it be items from Alsammarae or Exelon to benefit his campaign director’s ties to big energy and poisoned water?
How about help from or to am indicted slum lord who helped magnify despair within Obama’s district, conditions that give his bigoted preacher the audacity to blame whitey to new levels?
Can Obama be a hypocrite, and make his supporters be the same? Yes he can.

As I’ve been saying — Obama is aligned with the Black Power group that split with MLK just before MLK was assassinated. And that’s probably why Obama was “busy” for the MLK memorial. It almost seems as if some of these guys are spoiling for a race war. I do hope I’m wrong about this — but if you look at the Chicago School of Economics and their “Shock Doctrine” — there is the belief that some major crisis is needed to shake up the economic base and realign the power.
Interesting how so many of the paths lead by to Ayers — he’s a lots of time and the $$$ to build his networks. What a cover he has — prof. of education!
We gotta remember that Clinton has had these facts — and she must know a whole lot more. She knows how wrong Obama is for this country.
Donna Brazile just wrote another one of her hateful emails — (posted at TM’s blog) in which she told the Democratic base to just stay home. The email was very nasty and condescending (so what else is new?)
I’d like to see DB driven out of any leadership position in the Democratic Party. She is nothing by trouble for the Democratic Party — in fact I’d say she is downright racists.
ROFL! Too bad for her they won’t.
Larry Johnson is out to lunch with this article.
Republicans represent the worst the US has to offer. Any working person voting for a republican should have their head examined. It’s akin to “chicken’s for Colonel Sanders”
Reagan Democrats?? Talk about anachronistic..
Ad Hominem attacks, race baiting, and false patriotism accusations……What about the issues that effect working Americans? How about writing an article on which candidate best represents that?
Jobs, Healthcare, War, Supreme Court…..
We attempted to discuss issues, but the Obamabots refused to acknowledge Clinton’s rigorous social policies. Now we are forced to discuss Obama’s background, even if those who refuse to read disparage and dismiss our research.
Please consider visiting hillaryclinton.com if you desire to read her proposals.
How do you expect Obama to succeed, if you really have concerns, given his past actions?
They indicate his future actions, the man is corrupt, has never achieved a thing.
He’s already declared himself the winner of the primaries, and that’s a very Cheney moment, you should be concerned about his lack of judgement, what if someone is setting him up for a huge loss?
Not very astute, now, is it?
Lack of judgement?
How about the greatest foreign policy disaster in our history? Hillary voted FOR the invasion of Iraq. And don’t give me that BS “the intelligence was bad”….I knew it was BS before the war. If I knew then she should have known. And if she didn’t know, then THAT is even More scary.
What were his “past actions” that you’re soo concerned about?
Who else voted for the AUMF? Why none other than John Kerry who as a superdelegate is going against his constituents wishes by endorsing Obama. Will you hold him and every other Democrat to the same standards? Or is it only a Clinton who get bashed on the AUMF vote?
You nor Obama knew shit! You thought it. With Obama, considering all the dicks he hangs with, who knows why he made his speech. Maybe Auchi was going to give Rezko some more bucks and Saddam being in power was good for the asshole.
Truth,
Tell the truth, did you vote for Kerry in ‘04?
If you did. Case closed!
Don’t bother responding.
And sadly, Kerry seems to be connected to this crap, too, at the very least from 2004.
You know, I really thought he had more integrity.
They keep dropping like flies. It’s rather distressing.
greatest foreign policy disaster in our history
I disagree, the fact that not being alone in the consideration of the AUMF is not the greatest disaster in our history.
It is this country saw fit to elect a person with no experience and who was co-opted.
Do not be so disingenous sir, as to lay at the feet of the Senator, what you clearly take no responsiblity for.
Senator Clinton voted for what Obama has not and claims to have done so.
Our country is founded on the right to disagree. Ben Franklin
Should the DNC seek to silence these voices they will have misplace their own liberty.
I agree Kite..Good thought Buddy..
Good Nite all..
Folks will give up their liberty for security…..I forgot who said that but it is compelling…..No ?
Ben Fraklin said it 200 years back and nothing has changed as to the statement being valid today…perhaps more so.
TRUTH…Live Up to Your Name, You shall Know the “TRUTH” and the Truth shall set You Free..
Obama has a whole background of being mentored by Communists, Radicals and Revolutionarys who blew up the pentagon and most of his friends Hate the United States Government and stomptOur Flag…
Thats the TRUTH you should be Concerned about,
Not Buying HOPE DOPE from a Street Corner Peddler..who is Tied into the CARTELS and thier MONEY Honey..
And you want to compre all those Negatives with
Hillarys Vote after Our Nation was attacked on 9/11…?
I Hope you really seek the TRUTH or look for a New Handle…
Messes up a head big time, being “fathered” and “mentored” by men so maladjusted.
Anything for approval, bama, right?
Thats Why We Need Hillary..She should be the candidate..She has the Solutions, Experience and sincerity…and has wokred most of her Life for the Issues You talk about..
Obama is a CHICKEN and this is His COUP..
She has the solutions for the problems she helped create?
Are you 12 years old?
And what problems would those be, pray tell?
I dont know, you’re smart, right, ahem, what do YOU project?
Or dont you know?
No, I’m sure she’s not 12 years old. 12 year olds support Barack Obama. It’s exciting isn’t it?
Barack Obama, and Miley Cyrus.
But you know how the kids are, one minute it’s MIley, next week, someone else.
Oh look! The race card! We haven’t seen that in at least three hours.
Nice article, Larry.
My party is headed for ruin this November.
John
If you don’t vote for the Democratic nominee in November you have no one to blame but yourself.
I personally voted for Obama in my Primary.
I’d vote for a skunk, dead on the street, before I’d vote for any republican after what these criminals have done….
Don’t be a child.
If you were informed, you’d know Obama’s masters are the same as Bush’s, so what are you selling here?
Okay.
Inform me. Who are Obama’s “masters”?
A Commie wants Obammie in the white House..
That’s deep.
And thanks for the compliment.
He’s mocking you.
Do you always have these perception problems?
Oh, yeah, Obama, right.
/snicker…
Do you understand sarcasm?
Oh, yeah, moron.
Yes, in fact, I do.
You dont.
Wannabe.
you are a bitter person and supporting Barry, wow, Barry made a gain in support to those bitter people, but still hasn’t made any gains with intellignet people as of yet, and never will…lol
All those lobbyists who pay for his votes.
Google, and hard truths, are your friends.
In plain sight.
Creepy.
I personally voted for Obama in my Primary.
I’d vote for a skunk…
You’ve already voted for a skunk.
Now go away. You’re wasting your time, and ours.
I agree. I am wasting my time. As for you, don’t worry about that slogan “a mind is a terrible thing to waste,” you don’t have one.
Carry on with your circle jerk of hair on fire, scared shitless, racist losers.
‘Bye now. We’ll miss you.
No, really.
Geez,
It’s become nauseating to hear so many suddenly caring white people crying racism. Not that they’d be caught doing anything meaningful on behalf of black people like support the only candidate who intends to get Universal healthcare. Something many AAs need.
No! It’s just a battle cry to intimidate ‘typical white people’ into proving they’re not racist by voting for BO.
I despise the way you “Yes We Canabots” have turned the still very serious issue of racism into a chicken little farce and sent race relatons back damn near to square one.
Go back and tell your biracial fraud his AA creds, frankly suck. I’m sure that will make his little identity challenged mind freak.
mimi; I am so angry about this set back.
It is a deeply important part of the national identity and has been used for political gain by BO and his ilk.
BO has so many chances to really move this forward in a positive way, only to fail in all respects.
I can only speak for myself in saying that I do not avoid discussing race relations. I have witnessed race riots as a kid growing up. It IS a real problem. I can not for the life of me understand why BO does not care for the AA community.
Did he take time to show up at MLK or New Orleans? Even if it was not the best move for his campaign, it was the right thing to do.
Thank you for your honesty over these last months.
The problem is not the “party”. The Rebuplican or Democratic parties are not the “responsible” entity.
People are. One should judge a person on the content of their charecter and the people they associatte with. Do you disagree with this?
I’d vote for a skunk….I personally voted for Obama
And it appears you have kept your word… Good luck when he cuts loose.
No John. Just marginalized by the same crackpots again. We will rise again, just like the other times. Unfortunately it DOES keep us from more Democratic presidents.
Where did the fifty million go?
All those charities and funds Obama was a part of, has that money been accounted for?
Obama has that stench about him, I think it’s a legitimate question.
like you, i’m a pessimist. i think hillary will blow obama away in wv and ky and pr and not lose too badly in or, mt, and sd. but even if she won 80/20 in all 6, the supers would count the delegates, notwithstanding how they were “won” and give him the nod.
we dems are just doing what we do best - being as stupid as humanly possible in selecting a nominee.
i’ve hung in for the 4 decades of my adult life. i think that’s long enough to be loyal to an organization that has never been loyal to me and is too stupid to see what’s right before their eyes.
saw some little article earlier about obama (or his people?) saying something he probably thought was “cute” about mccain losing his bearings for suggesting hamas would prefer obama to win. when called on the obvious attempt to draw attention to mccain’s age, obama acts innocent, oh i didn’t mean anything like that. so basically he turned it into a pissing contest about whether he did or didn’t mean to draw attention to mccain’s age, thereby drawing attention to mccain’s age. at the same time, didn’t really see anything in the article about him denying that hamas would prefer him. seems like his diversionary technique worked, to get people to not think about hamas/obama. typical obama “new” politics.
anyway, the gaza phone center for obama will just add to the long list of repub ads. normally, i’d be offended at repub attacks on a dem. this year, i’m cheering them on.
i have some small hope that obama will be arrested in the next couple of weeks - as i’m sure he’s done many things to be arrested for. but then i realize it’s just a dream - he could commit murder on tv and they’d give him the nomination. they’d just blame the murder on the effects of our long history of racial inequities or something. then they’d call us racist for bringing it up.
i realize after decades of doing what i could for civil rights issues, i’m now a racist just because i don’t support obama. after hearing it enough times, i’ve become immune. call me racist. call me stupid. call me old (that one’s true). i don’t care what they call me. now they can call me repub or at least indep, but not a dem any more. screw ‘em.
We, or I had a monologue with a troll, today, about trying to prove a negative, if McCain does not have legitimate issues with age, it should not be a factor, no matter how they betray him, as Obama will be lying.
OTOH, the 527’s in regard to Obama, and Ayers, and the rest of the terrorist crew will wipe Obama out, everything the republicans throw at him will be truthful, this time.
This will undermine McCain’s presidency, but he doesn’t care, it also is not good for the country, but again, they don’t care.
But it will get him elected.
Against Clinton, this is not an option for McCain.
Dean has his head stuck up his ass, as incompetent as he seems, period.
And we lose, because Dean is incompetent.
portray, sorry.
Maybe I was thinking Obama.
I won’t call you a racist…you are much worse! What stupid narrow-minded environment are you holing up in?? who even wants people like you in the dem party…please, go away.
Oh don’t worry, hon. And we’re taking 23% of the bitter, garlic nosed, jewish, JFK, blue collar white male and older female democratic vote with us. Good job with that ‘let’s be friends’ and vote for Bambi in November. You’ll need it.
Oy, that would be ‘luck’. Good luck in November. Never mix Tramadol and Cabernet.
see, it’s started already.
btw, leonore, those like you who keep telling us to leave the party are getting what you wish for. it’s not a good thing for your guy. apparently, neither he nor his supporters are smart enough to figure out that calling us names will not get us to vote for him.
You know what? I’m a liberal democrat and have been for longer than some of these zombies have been drawing breath. I’m not going anywhere. I also won’t cast my vote for BO in November.
WIN WITHOUT ME.
Reminder:
“Message to the base: stay home”
Donna Brazile
Just to keep our focus, while they try this strategy.
Seems all that student aid money has gone to fund a system of Obamanate Nitwit Sanctuaries.
He’s a wicked little snot, that one. Shades of neuro-linguistic programming.
I can’t wait til some journalist figures out that Obama hates to be forcefully challenged and if he is, loses his ability to think on his feet. Give him too much deference and you lose. You have to come at him from left field and hammer him.
ah so you spotted the neuro-linguistic crap also!
From the SF Bay area originally. We got sent a lot of their early pr stuff. Obama’s gang is playing around with mass psychology — but I do believe that the neuro-linguistic garbage might be closer to the tactics he’s been using. Which would lead us back to Ayers — stuff used in learning to control groups (as in education).
Interesting — so many paths lead back to Ayers. I wonder what all was plotted at the Ayers kitchen table a decade or two ago?
so saddened, well said.
Abe Lincoln
Larry:
Very good piece. The Democratic Party seems not to have learned from history: Bush was elected without the black vote.
At the time I thought that was a very ominous marker to set down in our democracy: that someone could be elected President without the participation of one of our largest groups (AA’s are 12% of the public). I never thought I would see it repeated again in just that way, but here we are about to lose an election again and the black vote is irrelevant.
Exactly.
12% …of 400 million plus.
There’s only 300 million people in the United States. And its more than just AAs voting for Obama.
The fact that you all keep repeating that is just ignorant.
Truth:
The right wing GOP does fit your picture, but McCain does not. I listened to him tonight on O’Reilly and began to understand why the right hates him. He really is middle of the road.
He rejected O’Reilly’s view on drilling in ANWR and any other environmentally sensitive place. His position on immigration is for the most part identical to Hillary’s. The only thing I found objectionable was that he voted for Bush twice.
He’ll be on tomorrow night discussing foreign policy. Don’t miss it. Should be interesting what he has to say about terrorism, Iran, etc.
How about his crazy assed warmongering? That’s not a problem for you?
As opposed to Obama’s what?
Terrorist buddies and their feeble minded attempts at asymmetrical war?
Give me a break.
I don’t believe any of them, I look at past actions, same with the bamster.
McCain is highly conservative, I disagree with his platform, politically, I think it’s wrong for the country.
I wonder who his lobbyists are, whom he has taken money from, done favors for how he will run his campaign…
Middle of the road sells. You know why? Because extremism from either direction is a path to destruction. Just look at Bush. Extreme left is no better than extreme right. The middle class in this country see the two exremes and they are sick of one side giving all of their money to the poor and the other side giving all their money to the rich. They want attention and sooner or late they get it by voting. Moderation in all things sells in life and in politics, particularly when you are already coming down from extremism in the white house. If you don’t believe me, than think of the two democratic presidents we have elected in thirty years. That’s right, two in THIRTY years. Only one of them served two terms. Can you guess why? Because he was not a political extremist.
I do hope Recreate68 is the smashing success they think is “success”. It will help put a moderate in office more handily.
Amen.
So much work needs to be done. No more of this special interest junk. We need to work on issues that is to better ALL, rich and poor; great and weak.
1. Want to see a cure for heart disease, cancer and diabetes. USA has the best medicine in the world, let’s not make it a third world entity.
2. Want non-exportable middle class job creation. No more of this “service” industry, that pays nothing and has zero benefits.
3. Want to see education revamped to the three “R’s” again — concentration on core studies, with an emphasis on critical thinking skills and creativity (not rote learning and testing — we’re not Japan or the EU, we’re innovators). THEN boot out radicals who have no business in teaching our kids — I refuse to attend college with Ayers types trying to tell me about the world and their ideas of it.
4. Revamping of trade schools. Not everyone wants to be a pinhead, they love working with their hands. Be it a carpenter to a HVAC tech. No shame involved to repair and build, afterall without them even the White House couldn’t stay upright.
5. And stop trying to legislate life itself. This is getting ridiculous. Laws being made to keep dogs off your lap while driving — common sense doesn’t need a law!!
1001 other things needs to be done. All these special interests, from teacher unions to whatever else get in the way — JUST DO IT, AND WITHOUT THE IDEA THAT THROWING MONEY IS THE SOLUTION, THEN TAXING US FOR THE GLUTTONY!
Compromise, as there’s alot of business to do. Something is a lot better than waiting to get the whole cake.
Thanks Chris - this is the most sensible post I’ve seen on here.
This is what Obama supporters want and don’t believe that its something that Hillary can deliver.
frankly its also why everyone where I live wanted Bloomberg to run for for president because its exactly what he can and has delivered.
STOP IT! I’m trying to find a way to just sit this election out if Obambi wins. Keep talking like that and I will vote for McCain. Hell, I almost did in 2000, thank God I was a loyal dem…back then, befor I got stabbed in the back by my own party.
Straawberrybitch:
“Message to the base: stay home”
Donna Brazile
Now are you going to be apart of that strategy? Because they’re counting on it.
And yes I understand, this is difficult. But in the scheme of things, not the worst.
And to co-opt their nauseating slogan:
Yes you can!
Once again, Larry’s spot on in his analysis. I’m going to be writing in Hillary’s name on my November ballot if obama’s the nominee. And if he is, then McCain will gladly extend Bush’s term to 12 years (or more). For now, I’m wondering why more white people aren’t calling truth on obama’s support: it’s based on black racism against whites.
Black people wake up: you don’t get to call me a racist all my life for every little perceived infraction, and then blindly support a black candidate — and his strange minister — and not be racist in turn.
donna brazile has started responding to our emails by telling us, fine stay home. i think they are trying to get us to stay home or write in hillary, either of which means throwing our vote away, rather than voting for mccain. i think, despite saying they think we’ll come around to their side, they know most of us won’t, but they figure if they can just keep us from voting for mccain, obama can still win. not me, brazile. i’ll give my vote to mccain. it’s too important that obama not win.
Who the hell does Donna Brazille think she is? She does not own the Democratic Party. Perhaps it’s time that we tell her so.
You know you have to do what you think is best, we all die alone, so to speak.
Because Dems have been brainwashed for over 20 years to believe that very rhetoric. From multi-culturalism (which even the EU is rethinking as a failure), to this so-called “liberalization theory” (i.e., Victimology 101), all taught in thousands of higher learning institutions.
Here I am thinking about finishing school (heck, never even gotten a GED). My choices are quit slim, for the only college I believe I could attend would be Mason, despite that I’m not even a Christian but a Deist. Why? Because I’m an old world conservative, and I just could not sit in a class with an Ayers terrorist dictating my academic future (why conservatives home school even). Education has become so polarized that even higher learning is dictated by these “liberalization theory” terrorists.
There’s a lot of problems in this country to resolve. It’s not just what’s in the MSM headlines, it’s day-to-day affairs like even getting an education that needs to be worked upon. Radicals who want a strict separation of church and state; radicals who want Christianity as THE state. It’s affecting everything from Science to the Humanities. Each radical view robbing the MAJORITY who have some Faith, but not one Faith, who wants a life like everyone else — and not get bombed (or shot) in the process!
The situation today has a root from decades ago. Like with Communism in practice, it has failed. It fails because individuality is compromised for some “community”, that could not exist in this Western world that emphasis individuality and autonomy.
We’re not Ayers or Pat Robertson foot soldiers.
But then again, I never went to college to be brainwashed to believe in ideologies that don’t pan out over history. I see the world in a practical sense from the trenches, not some pinhead ideal of Utopia (that Utopia will only exist after we’re gone from this Earth, in whatever Faith you may believe in). We’re humans, with all the faults and assets of them, and we have the tools to destroy everything or build upon success. I prefer the latter, not rely on crutches, “payback” or guilt. Hand ups, not hand outs (then excusing it as some “right”).
Did a former CIA officer’s (Larry Johnson) blog entry start rumors about Obama being Muslim? (McClatchy)
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389×3261107
No, I’ve decided to start a “rumer” Obama is nuts, but I don’t speak for the blog.
Of course if it’s true, your attempt to portray it as false, or to discredit and smear me, will verify, and I love me some bananas, like Carmen Miranda, bananas are my business.
But you dont get it.
Requiem….You are 4.0 with Honors…
I am so glad you are on our Team..and I heard you were the best shot at the Academy..
A new flap is starting. Clinton is being called racist again because she dared to state that polls show she has more support from working-class, white Americans than Obama. Here is the quote from her:
“I have a much broader base to build a winning coalition on,” she said in an interview with USA TODAY. As evidence, Clinton cited an Associated Press article “that found how Sen. Obama’s support among working, hard-working Americans, white Americans, is weakening again, and how whites in both states who had not completed college were supporting me.”
“There’s a pattern emerging here,” she said.
Apparently, under the new Obama rules, it’s racist to even acknowledge that working-class white people exist, and that they might vote in similar ways. It’s perfectly fine that AA’s are voting for Obama in a solid block– but pointing out “the math” (as they love to refer to it) that more white, working-class people are voting for Obama than Clinton is somehow racist. What is that? What planet are we on now?
I’ll never vote for this guy. He has poisoned our country.
The unfounded paranoid racism accusations are crying wolf, and only hurt Obama. America is on to him and most people of all backgrounds don’t appreciate him using the race and fear cards — and will hold him responsible.
Lion
President and Commander-in-Chief Hillary Clinton is inevitable!
The more they do it, the more the electorate groans and gets that Shut Up and Get Away From Me feeling. I hope it escalates myself. Especially on TV.
It could. The Obama camp seems to be in panic mode and are acting more and more irrationally like Brazille and that idiot on Cavuto’s show.
Welcome the Godson of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson..any Excuse to Blame others for racism..
try being a White cop showing up a a Crowd where one Black kid has Shot three other black kids and someones baby..The Crowd will still Turn on You and call you a racist if you try to arrest someone..Thats how Crazy Racial relations are getting In America..because of guys Like MINISTER WRIGHT..who have Tutored Barack Obama..for twenty years without obama Understand “Black Liberation’”
Wait til he can Officially Pontificate from the White House…
Then we will have THE GREAT AWAKENING..”
“Welcome the Godson of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson…”
Sorry, Patrick, but Barack Obama is in a class by himself. He’s not their demon spawn.
To be fair, Jackson and Sharpton never used racism as a weapon to deprive white America of their Democratic right to vote. They have merely been spokespersons for racial injustice. They have protested. They are activists who speak their piece.
Obama is waging psychological warfare. He is using/exploiting racism, not trying to defend injustice as a result of institutional racism.
Know the difference because it is insidious and has the markings of fascism. He is trying to beat you down, like they do POWs Not recognizing the difference is part of the problem and how BO was able to con black people into a solid unified front behind him.
Think about it, if Obama wasn’t in the picture, Jackson and Sharpton wouldn’t be calling the Clintons racists. We wouldn’t even be having this conversation.
Obama is a wicked pos. And he’s been planning this for a very long time.
Jesse Jackson Sr. has distanced self from explicit endorsements at earlier times.
He’s seen as polarizing, but GHWB should perhaps thank the man for getting enough registered voters together that his election against Dukakis was not determined by Legislative caveat alone.
The votes against Bush that Operation PUSH helped enroll squeaked the participation threshold through a point good enough to give the race that year some form of apparent credibility.
Then he was discarded plausibly, rumors and speculation of personal matters harangued his reputation to discredit him. He was relegated to the back shelf of influence from major decisions by the party when it was thought he met political use, for expediency’s sake.
I’m not a fan of who his son is helping campaign for, but Jackson Sr. has valid political connection to America in his own right, a man of standing in historical terms.
Didn’t Jackson do better than expected in ‘88 among white working class voters?
Yeah, i have always thought it was odd that we could speak about the AA community in terms of voting blocks but to mention working class whites was, somehow, a racist comment.
Well, you know how that goes….
Unfortunately for Obama, they vote.
of course, every pundit on tv can say the same thing and have it not be racist. and obama can say it in san francisco, followed by his explanation that it’s because all those white people are bitter and cling to their guns and religion, and that’s not racist.
obamalogic - maybe they’ll teach a class in it in every college if he’s elected. because there’s no way the usual rules of logic support any of the crap they throw out.
It’s coming full circle.
On the conservative side there’s huge debates on issues like AA (which we call Affirmative Action, not African-American), and the problems it involves. Instead of valuing merit, we’re being told that some folks because of their “special” (but equal status mind you) can get to the head of the line. Meanwhile, anyone who is some “over achiever” has to sit out. This is universal in our school system today — what matters is popularity and being a part of the crowd, not that if you can ace the SAT/ACT and spent your youth doing everything to meet the requirements to enroll in your college of choice. Yeah, there’s plenty of folks right off the boat who can’t even speak English well, but God do they try to better themselves WITHOUT CRUTCHES. Nooooo, they are told to get to the back of the line, instead.
This is the experiment pinheads have made. They teach racism in college now (freely with tax dollars even), then try to tell folks it’s “not racism”. It is, especially when one group is getting BOTH special and equal status perks.
It was wrong with Jim Crow, it’s wrong with Jeremiah Wright.
Truth:
His comment about being in Iraq for 100 years has been distorted. He was talking about an American presence in the manner of Japan, Korea, and Germany. He has said repeatedly that he wants no Americans to die in Iraq.
I don’t think it’s warmongering to say that if Iran is close to finishing its bomb we should take the facilities out. It is a position that Hillary herself supports.
Today he said he wanted a civil campaign. Obama kicked him in the teeth by retorting that McCain is “losing his bearings” because McCain had the temerity to refer to Hamas’ endorsement of Obama.
Not smart. It will energize the Republicans to rally around McCain even though they can’t stand him.
“It will energize the Republicans to rally around McCain even though they can’t stand him”
Heck, it will energize half the Democrasts to rally around him too, even though we really don’t like him either.
Hillary is courting those Reagan Democrats.
History shows what happened in 1980 when they swung hard for Reagan.
If the DNC is blind to this, they deserve to lose big time again. As experience IS the best teacher!
How about Zawahiri’s endorsement of McCain?
http://www.juancole.com/2008/05/zawahiri-endorses-mccain-plan-to-bomb.html
Israel should allow IAEA inspectors in as well as Iran.
Why hasn’t Bush bombed North Korea? Because they have nukes.
Precisely why Iran would WANT a bomb, that our own intelligence agencies have stated in the latest NIE that they are no where near obtaining one.
I know they seem to make your heads explode but facts matter
McCain will beat him. Handily. Millions of disenfranchised and insulted Democrats will help make it a nicely embarrassing election result too.
The Chickens are coming Home to Roost..
One COUP at a Time…
Roast!
LOL…Roger That
This is the exact same reason Bush used to get us into Iraq. Exactly the same. Do you see how this turns out?
I know, I know, you meant “credible evidence” that they are close to making a bomb…
Just like Iraq.
Do you know what Iran can do w/ a nuclear bomb? Stick it in the back of a truck and drive it to Iraq. Until they also get a space program I wouldn’t be too concerned about them using it on us.
North Korea has nukes - they haven’t used them on us either and never will.
It doesn’t matter if Iran gets a nuke, stop trying to push us into another war.
Jason;
Then why does it matter to you that your immoral, lying, race baiting, law breaking and corrupt Candidate, has said he would do the same thing Sen. Hillary and McCain have said?
He has said he will not allow Iran to obtain Nukes…Or is he Lying again?
Jason, you don’t even know what your own candidates positions are. Or did you miss Wolfy’s interview with him? Knowledge can be deadly, but lack of it is always fatal.
You’re a fucking scumbag
I think I saw that movie it stared jeff john brown bob and kevin, sitting in their parents basement with a bag of pond scum.

Don’t you just love the Obamatons? Especially the drive-by ones.
I hate to admit it, but they are a lot of laughs.
And boy are we ever smarter and wittier.
Sure shoots a hole in that educated demographic.
Obama will be the next POTUS.
The republinuts tried there anti-Obama attack model in Louisiana in a heavily republinut district that went 60% for Bush in ‘04…and guess what? The Democrat linked to Obama won the race. You can read about it from your hero Newt Gingrich…
http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=26376
So bad news for all you losers trying to spread lies about Obama. It ain’t working.
Hmmm the democrat won over a David Duke republican in an area that had 5000 displaced blacks from New Orleans living there and voting and the Democrat won by 3000 votes, hmm wonder how, since the Republican running has never won a major election in 5 tries and usually loses by 30 to 40 points and lost by less than 3 points, good one the Truth!
Wow, earth shattering news, the heavens must be opening and celestial lights shining, or maybe you just drank a big ole cup of kool aide!
Face facts jerk off, Obama isn’t ever entering the White House, and the rate of Democrats is rising against him and going to be sure he and his communist buddies never get into the White House, thank Obamas friend Mayor Gray of Gary Indiana for exposing Obama’s fraud to the world, finally! Crooks always make mistakes sooner or later…….lol
Time for your meds yet? wow, what a kook.
being racist now too Truth?
My my the real Obama supporter showing thriugh in you huh……lol
Your time here is getting short.
Frankly, if Mel is a kook then you sir are a lie.
The person that is Mel, has their shit together and from what I have seen does their homework. 5 by 5.
All you have are racist talking points.
Apparantly your hero Newt Gingrich has drank the “kool-aide”……Cry me a river, loser.
Question asshole, how many more posts do you need for you Obama Ipod download this evening, so we can be rid of you for another night quickly?
Is it 2 or 20, just so we can know in advance how long this delightful experience with the cutter trash of life you exemplify as perfectly as Michelle Obama does will be?
God, you are B-string aren’t you?
I think B-string’s ‘way generous, Uppity.
Maybe G-string?
Those ALWAYs break. I have a scar on my right pinky to prove it.
I wondered what the real story was. Thanks, Mel.
The Obama people are in a panic. They know he can’t win the general. They were counting on losing the nomination so they could be self-righteous and riot in Denver and piss and moan about being disenfranchised and keep up the masturbatory click-rates on their blogs. Now they may actually have to face the Republican attack machine, and they’re shaking in their shoes. They know they have alienated everyone, and they don’t have the skills to face the onslaught. All the fighters are with Hillary.
What is really funny will be in the GE if Obama makes it to be the nominee, is finding out how many dead people will try voting again the Chicago way and stack the caucuses in the GE, oh there are no caucuses in a GE, it is all people actually voting, hmmmmmmm not too good for the good ship obamabot now is it…..lol
The good ship obamabot…that is too funny! Someone needs to write a poem. How about if it starts like this:
On the good ship obamabot,
It’s a great trip if you’re smoking pot…
(Obviously it is way past my bed time.)
Now think about 75% when otherwise happily voting Dems, crossover to either vote for McInsane (in protest) or write in anyone else.
Quickest way to undermine even the Jeremiah Wright types, is for the GOP to bring up gay marriage again (in GA alone, it was the Black church that pushed hard to prevent gay marriages). Or if there’s any hint of gayness in Obama — as the Black community is brutal with gays in their ranks. Keep a strong eye on Larry Sinclair folks………
larry sinclair, yes. also “punished with a baby.” a brief ad showing a clip of obama saying that…. and this fool thinks he can win the election?
Believe most of his supporters are GOP types ready to pounce if Obama becomes the nominee.
Thirty years of hard work, the GOP isn’t going to just give the Dems the White House — especially with SCOTUS up for grabs.
Going to be a dirty fight unseen in decades — and whining about “negative” ads won’t mean a hill of beans to Republicans. They’ll be defending home turf from Ayers et al.
The way Things are going for your “PEOPLES HERO’”
he may be Occupying a BIG HOUSE alright..but I doubt if the Limo service will be too Good…and I’m sure He will miss his Body guards…
snicker…
Oh he will have body guards with bitter attitudes and big ole guns, and then he will have body guardians too…..lmao
Good to see that you’re still around, Johnson.
Carter and McGovern have jumped ship. So do these guys figure that four years of McCain is worth keeping the Democrat party together? Or are they hoping in their heart of hearts that Clinton will cut a deal that will lure angry white males back into the fold?
You think they are expecting Clinton to become Obama and be a “Just Words” person?……lol
I don’t know what she will do but I’m pretty sure she won’t want VP. Candidates have gone to the convention with more delegates than others but still ended up under the bus. If you have a Ouija board just ask Estes Kefauver: Harry Truman threw him under the bus
I am really wondering what two old guys with some very bitter experiences are thinking.
Do they think it worth losing the Presidency in 2008 and fucking off any chance to balance the Supreme Court to keep the Democrat coalition together? Do they think that McCain can be cashiered in 2012 and do they think that Hillary will be perceived at that time to be young enough to serve? Or, Star Wars style, do they have another Jedi in mind?
On the other hand, do they think that it is worth winning the Presidency in 2008, losing the black vote (not to the Republicans but to petulant abstention) and farming out the yuppie eggheads to a third party (same shit different day)?
This isn’t high school kiddiepoos. The rubber will meet the road in the next 30 days.
Are you suggesting it’s all a setup? Obama lures AAs and the Left into his camp in order to “purify” Hillary. Then he is sacrificed in some way, and Hillary takes the nomination– with all the cred she needs to bring white men into the Dem fold? Interesting. Obama would need to implode on his own for this to really work. SO, when does the other shoe drop?
next week when Rezko begins to sing after he is found guilty!
I hope so!
Larry Sinclair…
Black+Gay=Disaster for the Black voting block. It’s so imploding, that you can see the numbers drop overnight.
Just one photo or audio tape, and it’s over (and he won’t even get a job as a dog catcher afterwards).
Hillary won’t play that game. GOP 527s would in a heartbeat. So for the good of the party, those SD BETTER pick Hillary (there’s no November 1st surprises with her).
It takes intelligence, talent and organization to rig a setup.
That eliminates the American political class.
Sorry Jim, even if my lady Hillary asks me to support Obama, I think he’s dangerous. I used to think he was just inexperienced, but Larry has proven he’s much worse than that. I must vote against him for the sake of my country.
Hey berry!
Hey Lion! Whassup? I’m still waiting on the good news from you. But you have helped me to ground myself. I just keep thinking that Bill and Hillary were the only dems to ever take the repugs to the woodshed twice in decades. If they are still in this race, it’s because they KNOW they can win. I remember George Bush 1 saying how much he hated Bill because he made it look so easy. Bill was the best he ever saw. I just keep reminding myself of that. And I keep a picture of Madame President on my dressor mirror. And I greet her every morning. Oh and I turned off the MSM. Funny my Tums tab has dropped off measurably.
I saw a Campaign Sign that says..”ITS MADAM PRESIDENT.AND GET USED TO IT..”
Boy..Thats One Celebration I would wnt to Attend..She is AMAZING..
She is a Great Lady..
Hang tight, I have to stop commenting here for a while to set up my own blog and will announce the good news fund raising thing soon. I should be back in a few days.
Clinton won’t be caught standing next to Obama. There’s 2012 to think of. As for keeping the party together. It’s not together any longer so there is nothing to hang onto. It is officially split. We will all go to the polls, blast Obama’s ass to the the middle east and get up the next morning and think nothing of the party. The scramble won’t be ours. The Party doesn’t pay our bills or give us our income. The party doesn’t deserve loyalty any longer. We vote in our own best interests not Barack Obama’s best interest.
Maybe some reporter should ask Obama if Carter and McGovern have lost their bearings…. just words…
lol, mimi!
Strawberry…
Amen.
OT Krugman has an interesting post http://www.nytimes.com/2008/05/09/opinion/09krugman.html
….It’s possible that this will happen automatically — that bad feelings from the nomination fight will fade away of their own accord. In recent decades, Democrats have had little trouble unifying after hard-fought primary campaigns.
But this time the division seems to go deeper than ordinary political rivalry. The closest parallel I can think of is the bitter intraparty struggles of the 1920s, which pitted urban, often Catholic Democrats against Protestant farmers.
So what can be done to heal the party’s current divisions?
More tirades from Obama supporters against Mrs. Clinton are not the answer — they will only further alienate her grass-roots supporters, many of whom feel that she received a raw deal.
Nor is it helpful to insult the groups that supported Mrs. Clinton, either by suggesting that racism was their only motivation or by minimizing their importance.
After the Pennsylvania primary, David Axelrod, Mr. Obama’s campaign manager, airily dismissed concerns about working-class whites, saying that they have “gone to the Republican nominee for many elections.” On Tuesday night, Donna Brazile, the Democratic strategist, declared that “we don’t have to just rely on white blue-collar voters and Hispanics.” That sort of thing has to stop.
KATHY…Very Interesting..Thanks…
1. I just looked at the numbers of the three primaries that have been held since the Reverend Wright, Bill Ayers, ‘bitter’ comments, etc. have come out. I call this Primary II since Obama has finally come under some scrutiny. For PA, Guam, NC and IN both candidates have earned 171 pledged delegates. Hillary is ahead by about 250 popular votes. To me, this is like coming out at halftime tied, and it’s the rest of the game that counts. I don’t think Hillary should have to catch up in pledged delegates. I think the superdelegates should be looking at this as a new primary since the dirty laundry finally got some airing, and see what happens from here on in. From what I am seeing and hearing, there is more dirty laundry to come. Shutting down the primary now before all the facts are known could cause us to have a totally unviable candidate in the fall.
2. The current apportioning of delegates was put in place when Jesse Jackson ran for president when it was determined that a candidate could not win a single state based on black votes. It essentially gives black voters MORE of a vote than anyone else. I don’t see a similar situation in place to help a female candidate. How is this fair? In an all or nothing delegate victory, Hillary Clinton would have already won. She is being penalized for not being black. She has won all of the states a democrat needs to win to win the general election, and has enough electoral votes to win. Superdelegates should be mindful of this as they cast their votes.
3. When Obama won Guam by 7 votes, none of the headlines said he eked out a victory. However that’s exactly what is being said about Clinton’s come from behind victory in Indiana. A week ago, she was 8 points behind. She won by 2. That’s a ten-point swing, and I think that’s pretty powerful. This is just another example of a long list of continual media bias that is painting her Indiana victory as a loss. This should have been Obama’s state, but he could not hold it.
4. Obama’s base is shrinking. While black voters are consistently for him, he is losing ground in almost every other demographic. His North Carolina victory came primarily from early voters. Late deciders who heard more of the Rev. Wright controversy went overwhelmingly for Clinton.
5. Without counting Florida and Michigan, any victory is tainted. Since when do we elect candidates based 48 states? The alienation of voters from these states will hurt the party every bit as much as the potential loss of black votes if Obama does not win the nomination. Obama promised to go along with any plan the DNC could come up with for a revote in these states, but when they did, he refused to cooperate. He is trying to run out the clock. Additionally, Obama was never sanctioned for running ads or holding a press conference in Florida or for encouraging voters in Michigan to vote ‘uncommitted’ when he chose to remove his name from the ballot.
6. Because of the delegate apportioning system, and because she was deprived of the momentum her Florida and Michigan victories should have legitimately given her, Hillary Clinton has been harshly penalized by the nominating system itself. Yet she still remains incredibly close, and most see her as the strongest candidate to take on John McCain.
7. Obama has irreparably damaged his relationship with white female voters. His dismissive remarks about Hillary, crude gestures when talking about her, and his flirtatious and demeaning manner on the campaign trail have caused the party’s largest bloc of voters—women—to vote against him in large numbers. I do not think he can win these voters back in November.
8. I get really offended when I hear pundits and party leaders say Hillary has run a negative campaign. Barack Obama has been every bit as offensive and dirty. I recall during the PA debate (an event that surely showed he is NOT ready to lead this country) he said he had not criticized Hillary for her Bosnia remark. When called on that, he admitted his campaign had used that against her. The very next day, he used her erroneous remarks as part of his stump speech. He has called Hillary Clinton disingenuous, divisive, dishonest, and has said she will do anything to win. I call that negative campaigning.
I think we need to stop pushing this race as over. There is a lot more to come. I urge you to show support for Hillary Clinton, or at the very least, to allow this process to play out without pressure on Hillary to drop out of the race. We can surely wait 28 more days to allow Hillary Clinton to campaign to try to make up for the many disadvantages she has had to face from this system. I truly believe that if her opponent was a charismatic white male, no one who be asking her to drop out. The truth is the DNC is more worried about disenfranchising black voters—even at the expense of alienating lifelong older Democrats—than they are about running a fair election.
Thanks — fantastic post. Must read for everyone!
This race isn’t over by a long shot. Obama is so dirty and when just a tiny bit of his dirty dealing see the light of day — people who are undecided or who are willing to vote for either him or her — decide that there is no way in hell that they will vote for Obama.
My husband’s brother soften my husband up on Obama — however I came back with a right hook: The mansion — how the Obama’s got that deal and how most people wouldn’t quality — home owning is as American as apple pie. People are losing their homes — so the home issue and the fact that the Obama’s needed the help of a slum lord . . . who has ties to Saddam’s money guy . . . Then throw in Ayers and don’t forget Rev. “God Damn America” Wright. Oh then my husband remembers — Chicago politics and the voting dead. . . . Brother-in-law’s influence shot to hell.
Yes Primary Season II — and Hillary will fight on!
Great post, Kathy!
Smilin Jim, I am a huge fan of your comments, but the last on is not clear. Would you please explain?
Please sign Petition to state you won’t vote for Obama, and leave a comment.
http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/pledge-to-vote-against-obama-in-the-general-election
Something that has been overlooked completely over the past several weeks and is a very important issue here!
Last year, all candidates pledge to not campaign in Fla and Michigan! The rule for Fla and Michigan was set by the pledge for the candidates! Rezkowatch.com has a full blown expose of the goings on in Fla and Michigan, of which Obama broke the rules, he did campaign in Fla and Michigan! At stake were not only votes there, but a battle cry over 370 delegates had Fla and Michigan not broken the rules on the Primary dates!
Well Obama campaigning there was seeking votes as that is what campainging is for and he broke the rules! Should Obama go unpunished? That answer is NO
Obama was campaigning in states which represented 370 delegates, and thus he being the only candidate there campaigning, should Obama not be subject to the same punishement in being penalized 370 pledge delegates he has won?
Rules are as Dean puts it, to be followed or suffer punishment, well Obma flatly broke the rules and deserves punishment equal to the punishment placed upon Florida and Michigan, forfiture of 370 delegates available!
In a normal court of law, a just punishment is befitting the crime committed! Obama Campaigning for votes against the rules and desreves the same equal punishment placed upon the states who also broke the rules! Thus Obama’s pldged delegate count should be decreased by 370 pledged delegates and awarded to the candidates who did not break the rules, after all, fair is fair in a Democratic Society!
Any awarding of a single delegate to Obama from Fla and Michigan, should the rules committee be seated and their votes counted, does not provide any form of fairness to the candidates who followed the rules and is thus showing bias to Obama in allowing him any delegates from Fla and Michigan, should they be allotted to have their votes counted!
You always seem to forget this part:
What do you think participate means? Maybe have your name on the ballot?
Whoops, looks like HRC is guilty too.
Larry, what happened to you?
MIMMI…….
Its Cool..
I Understand mimi…and Agree..I was being a little to Snarky..This go’s way beyond MLK, Sharpton and Jackson, and the Traditional Civil Rights Movement we have all Cared so Much About..I know how many really Great African Americans there are,and I hope We can stay United during these times of Diabolical Manisfestaions that could destroy all the good that is being done..
It is wicked…and These Times require Caution and Serious Discernment..
It’s okay Patrick. We’re all on very new and strange ground.
If Hillary wins the nomination, Fox News will have three new permanent fixtures on 24/7 until the GE - Paula Jones, Gennifer Flowers, Monica Lewinsky.
.
Rather listen to them than listen to Wright, Ayers, Dohrn, so quit being so low balled!
Like I said, Hillary became a senator AFTER all that tripe, what else ya got? Sex is sex (You probably don’t get any, that’s why you find other people who do so offensive.) but treason is another matter.
Maybe if they’re lucky O’Reilly will get them a stint on Flavor Flav’s Flavor of Love. Thye’re certainly tacky enough.
And you should know.
Whoa–so you’re saying Hillary was actually the Clinton with the bimbo eruption problems?
I don’t condone what Bill did, but we already know Bill’s not gay nor a pedophile, and seems to prefer CONSENTING ADULT and PLUMP secretaries (which today is a miracle, considering Hollyweird wants everyone to be size 0 Twiggies).
Let Fox News entertain closeted conservatives who eat the sex tabloid stuff. They’ve been without since! lololol
What does this have to do with Hillary, and who gives a shit at this point? This is such old news.
Hey Gaza babe — that is OLD OLD news.
Stuff a sock in it. Go away — and go to hell.
Special but equal status again.
The Democratic primary process is equal to having an NFL football team take 6 weeks of batting practice to prepare for the super bowl.
It’s a completely different game but the idiotic dem leadership can’t see that. Maybe if Obama loses 40 states, we can get some changes in the primary rules.
We already had changes in the primary rules, rules were no campaigning in Fla and Mich, yet Obama did in both places, basically seeking support towards the 370 delegate count in those two states, no one else broke the rules but Obama! Fla and Mich broke DNC rules, lost 370 delegates, Obama breaks DNC rules and doesn’t lose a thing! Obama should have his delegate count dropped by the same number of dlegates Fla and Mich lost in the process for breaking the rules! Otherwise, the DNC is placing Obama above the people of Fla and Mich! Common sense is common sense!
I think it would be more helpful for people to push back hard against this brainwashing the media is giving to us to get Clinton out of the race. If we resign ourselves to Obama getting the nomination, it will become a reality. I think that raising people’s awareness of this intense station to station propaganda blitz is needed. We need to deprogram.
This evening I had a conversation with my Democratic precinct “coordinator”. She wanted me to volunteer for a local candidate who endorsed Obama. I have told her before I am not supporting Obama or any candidate who endorses him. I told her I am leaving the Democratic party if Obama is the candidate.
This information does not compute. She says she has never heard of Tony Rezko. And someone told her Hillary is getting ready to drop out of the race. Our conversation ended on this thought from her that maybe when I am not so busy, I might be able to volunteer in the future.
Larry,
Excellent analysis!! Please check your inbox. It’s VERY important!
Thanks!
Did you see that Rasmussen has dropped their daily tracking poll and has called the race for Obama?
You haven’t been involved in politics very long have you?
A lot of the instant access kids don’t understand. This is election to be decided on the convention floor.
Seriously need to teach Civics in school, as these kids take polls and talkingheads seriously. :/
Judging by your prediction, I see that I have been involved in Democratic politics much longer than you. If you really believe that this thing isn’t going to be decided until the Convention, you are obviously too partisan to see reality. Your angst is a true sign of political immaturity.
It’s over. Accept it. Learn from it. The only thing left for Hillary to decide is the timing of her withdrawal.
I’ve been around long enough to lose a few. Learning how and how NOT to deal with your losses takes experience you don’t seem to have.
I guess not as long as most Hillary voters (you know, 65+ White Women). . .
I’ve only been involved since about 1984 in Democratic politics (and campaigned for Clinton twice!)
Overall HRC is now behind by about 176,000 votes, if
you give all the MI uncommitted to Obama. If you just
count votes cast then she’s ahead by about 62,000!
She will be ahead by the end of all the primaries,
unless they want to steal the nomination from her,
which this is what they are trying to do.
She’ll have the pledged delegate lead in June? Remember, each states elects DELEGATES- this is not about ‘popular vote’! If it were, EVERY STATE would have ‘open primaries’ and NONE would have caucuses. . . for instance, both MN and NE have 72 delegates, but NE had a PRIMARY and had 4 TIMES MORE VOTERS than MN- does this mean NE is 4 TIMES more important than MN?
Like it or not, the Democratic primary system elects DELEGATES and every candidate agreed to the rules BEFORE the primary began (in addition, they agreed that FL and MI DID NOT COUNT!)
This is like changing the rules mid-football game so that the candidate who gained the most YARDS instead of the MOST POINTS wins!!!
And remember Super-Delegates can choose at their own leisure their candidate.
No moving guide posts now!
No, you’re right. . . those are the rules.
And look- Obama is now ahead in Super Delegates, as well! 3 of them has switched from Hillary to Obama in the past 2 days. NONE have switched the other direction since Feb 5.
She started out 100+ SDs ahead, but now need over 65% of remaining SDs in order to get the nomination- he only needs 35% of the remaining SDs.
You’re right- those are the rules and Obama is adhering to them, unlike Clinton and her supporters.
The parties in those states broke the rules KNOWINGLY. Neither state was a fair contest. Hillary agreed with the party sanctions, back then. Now she wants to(and has) convince you that they must be counted or else the nomination has been stolen. What’s changed? She’s losing, that’s what.
“We may now understand why Barack does not wear a flag lapel pin. He’s afraid that Bill Ayers will stomp on him.”
Great line Larry. And yeah, the republicans will stomp all over OB and Ayers and all we will be able to do is AGREE with republicans.
Alternate universe for me.
Didn’t get to read the “who sent you?” article yet.
Hillary has helped save him thus far from the mauling of the right to come. They’ll kill him off as soon as the dnc kills her off.
Great piece. I saw it on the Huffington Post site too (the Campaign Spot blog at National Review linked to it). I hope the media does their job in time!
I can’t believe all this complaining about the primary system. It’s not as if we just installed it this election season. Everyone knew the rules going in but attack them when they are not in their favor. Better yet they attack the guy who is winning by the rules and thowing flags on the ground crying foul. You gotta love America you can’t win for winning.
I was interested in Larry’s take on the situation in Beruit, based on his experience. Unfortunately he has fallen into areas that have nothing to do with his line of expertise. Apparently he(you) think that McCain loves America ,and Obama - HIS MIDDLE NAME IS HUSSEIN, OMG!! - hates it. I pray that the scales may fall from your eyes.
FYI : It’s no secret , or maybe it is, that Hillary ‘involved’ herself with the defense of the Black Panthers in the way back.
There’s also information from bbc on the web about how Obama spoke in support of Kenyan leader Raila Odinga when Obama visited Kenya. There are photographs shown as well. Odinga also claims to be Obama’s cousin though I’m not sure if it’s the same cousin relationship as perceived in the US. Anyway supposedly Odinga (muslim) made a deal with Islamic Jihadists to invoke Sharia law if he was elected. Odinga wasn’t elected and his followers rioted and murdered people (many were Christians and some were burnt in a church). This happened in Dec 07, Jan 08 timeframe. Interestingly Dick Morris also went to Kenya to help Odinga with his campaign supposedly at the request of Obama. Dick Morris is a former Clinton advisor (for Bill not Hillary) and he is on Fox News and now a huge Hillary basher. Now this type of story could have interesting ramifications for Obama if it can be proven true. I would personally like to know more about this.
Larry, I have been a huge fan of yours ever since the Plame thing started. However, now it appears that you have claimed Michelle Obama went on a rant about “Whitey” w/out any video to back it up? I think that is really low and I am truly upset you did that.
I think the press was unfair to Hillary but you’re doing the same thing to Michelle Obama. So not cool.
