You people are very uninformed. Have any of you actual reviewed and compared the plans offered by Obama or Clinton, the plans are virtually identical.

I am an Obama supporter, however, I am a democrat first. With that being said if Hillary had won, I would have voted for her in the general election. What really troubles me about most of the posting on this board is that all of you are putting Hillary before our party.

I think she would have made a great president, but she lost. We need to unite and move forward and stop the Republicans from taking the house. Sincerely, TRUE DEMOCRAT

I would learn to spell before insulting someone’s intelligence. That is pretty much what Hillary did and Obama showed her how much smarter he is and how much more organized. Barack Obama should never of beat Hillary if Hillary was the candidate you all think she was.

You have to be a better candidate ALL of the time, not just in November, if you want to be President.

Vice President names like Charlie Rose, Micheal Bloomberg, or Ted Turner come to mind. But they would not likely run. So you have another knowledgeable person in Senator Claire McCaskill of Missouri.

I started a Draft Claire for Governor in which we had over 75 team captains statewide in 2003. She instead became a US Senator two years later. Claire McCaskill was a prosecutor in Kansas City, a single mom while serving as state representative for 3 terms and then a State Auditor. Her knowledge of local, state, and Federal levels of governments and how they work is extremely important. There has likely never been a vice presidential candidate which such a record of service.

She has become known as a center of the road legislator fighting for anti ear mark legislation and an accountability office for expenditures on the war. What she is most noticed for is that she has a pulse of the people that comes naturally and speaks out for the people when something is not in their best interest concerning government or important issues. Yes two inspiring candidates who bring out the best in people on the ticket sound real good.

You Clinton fans are tripping. I am an African American woman and like you would love to see a woman president or vice president but not Hillary. I voted for Bill but am so sick of these Clintons I can't tell you. They will do anything to win. And Hillary has no experience to be president except being the wife of a president. Honestly, would we elect Barbara Bush or Laura Bush. Stupid concept. OB has lots of experience working with people---people actually like him as opposed to Clinton whom so many can't stand. She has acted horrible during this campaign and set women back years! So I welcome a woman vice presidenial candidate but no more Clintons. You Clinton supporters need to get over it so we can all move on.

These comments are a little scary and a lot acrimonious. I like Joe Biden or Kathleen Sebelius. HRC would be okay with me as well, though I can't deny I have worried about the Bill factor throughout this campaign and that worry has been maginified by his front and center campaign presence, even now when his quiet diplomacy or disappearance would have served her and the party a lot better.

I am not quite your age, but I have voted straight Dem for over 30 years. And I did resign from the Democratic party and am now Independent.

It feels a bit "fake" still, but OK.

I agree that it's a great time for a true emergence of a viable 3rd party, but it can't be done around a personality. It needs to be done around principles.

Personally, I see that fiscal conservatism, such as what Clinton has, along with liberal social outlook and a strong emphasis on foreign affairs would be the winning ticket.

I think there are as many disenchanted Republicans as Democrats.

We could forge a moderate party that sweeps.

I wish he would. Her presence on the ticket would seal the deal. :)

Meaning....we get 4 years of place-marker McCain and then we get our party back.

Bayh is a strong Hillary supporter. No way.

He'll have a problem with the VP position, because his endorsers have all been very weak.

She always had the true-blue Dem endorsements.

How fucking STUPID is this guy? I mean, really!!!

He's trying to QUAYLE the ladies!!!! How profoundly DISRESPECTFUL!!!!

Remember how GHWB trotted out that retarded boy scout, thinking that his "cuteness" would put some sex on the ticket? Vice President Moron: You say potatoe, and I say potato?

About the only STATE that makes sense is MO, as it's a battleground. AZ would likely go for the geezer--they keep sending him back to the Senate, after all. And I don't think America is ready for the "Black Guy-Gay Woman" ticket--it sounds too much like a deus ex machina sitcom that doesn't make it to Sweeps Week.

I don't see KS as a battleground at all, and who the hell can even PRONOUNCE Sebelieus, never mind pick her out of a line-up. Be honest--who even knows who the hell she is, save people from her and neighboring states? To America, that's an INEXPERIENCED and UNKNOWN ticket--talk about a disaster waiting to happen.

McCaskill comes off like a Brady Bunch Mom, too mincing, grinning and eager to please. She looks like a distant memory of most people's Kindergarten teacher--and that's hardly a qualfication to step up if, say, Smokie Barack gets lung cancer or something.

For a female to run successfully as VP, they have to demonstrate a degree of fortitude--maybe not quite as fierce as say, Sheila Jackson Lee, more like, say, Olympia Snow-- but sufficient to make people believe you actually aren't a fucking Kindergarten teacher.

I saw Obama on the television today, with suckup Edwards. Some fool behind him was FRANTICALLY waving a "Women For Obama" sign--like that's all it takes to convince those silly, easily distracted gals, some idiot with palsy shaking a sign.

This latest bit of chaff tossed out, that Obama wants a woman (he'd better find Rambolina, and pray she's a citizen, to make up for his wussy effeteness) in the number Two spot, is pandering to women in the WORST POSSIBLE WAY.

It seems to me he's made way too many deals with the Devil, and the Ghost of Atwater guides his mendacious hand.

PurpleStatePundit,

I commend you for being polite and respectful, even though you've received some harsh responses. And to answer your question, no, because as someone else explained, our support of HRC is not based exclusively on her being a woman -- that is a factor, of course, but it is not the only one or the most important one. So putting another woman on the ticket would look like blatant pandering and an inability to understand what we're looking for. This would be especially harsh if we felt that the woman chosen was inferior in intellect, experience or ability to HRC -- as Sibelius and McCaskill are.

Uppity said she wouldn't vote yes even if her own mother was on the ticket. That made me LOL because *my* mother is an Obama supporter! Yikes!

And to answer your question, no, because as someone else explained, our support of HRC is not based exclusively on her being a woman — that is a factor, of course, but it is not the only one or the most important one. So putting another woman on the ticket would look like blatant pandering and an inability to understand what we’re looking for. This would be especially harsh if we felt that the woman chosen was inferior in intellect, experience or ability to HRC — as Sibelius and McCaskill are.

Uppity said she wouldn’t vote yes even if her own mother was on the ticket. That made me LOL because *my* mother is an Obama supporter! Yikes!

What i resent the most about this move of picking a woman as VP is that Senator Obama thinks that he can fool millions of women who voted and still voting and supporting Senator Clinton by putting and replacing one woman for another woman on the ticket. Does he think that these women are a bunch of idiots? Goodness gracious, this is such a bush-league move that really disrespects the intelligence of Hillary's supporters.

Beyond this fact, his choice is just terrible. He is choosing 3 politicians with zero national security experience and very little experience on the national level. Claire McCaskill is a rookie senator from Missouri with a big fat zero in national security and barely 1 year of experience in the Senate. Kathleen Sebelius is as exciting as watching my 16 years old German Shepard pee. Did you see her deliver the Democratic response to the State of the Union Address? I fell asleep after she said hello. She is really better than Ambien. Some drug company needs bottle her up and prescribe her as a very good insomnia antidote. As for the Governor of Arizona Janet Napolitano, i don't know what she can bring to the ticket.

He could have a problem with that because it's highly possible that McCain is choosing Crist(?) from Florida. Also, Richardson would be a help with Mexican Americans but not with Cubans. It's kind of like being Italian vs Irish. lol. Cubans have no problem voting Republican so I would say if McCain does what he might do, he took Florida from Obama already--expecially since Florida is seriously angry over his blocking of their revote.
