Do As I Say Not As I Do

A No Quarter story entitled These are Barack Obama’s Supporters, a writer from a staunch Obama site where the rest of us are not welcome discusses Hillary Clinton supporters and their complete unwillingness to vote for Barack Obama. For some odd reason, our willingness to vote for anybody but Barack Obama seems to come as some kind of surprise to them. Go figure. However, in the world of Barack Obama, this is some kind of punishable offense or something.

The big complaint is that we Hillary supporters are “threatening” to vote for John McCain if Obama is the nominee. First of all, to many of us, it’s not a threat, it’s a promise. There’s also a Write Hillary In site that is parked, just in case it is needed. Secondly, our unwillingness to vote for Barack Obama is not only our choice and our promise, but it’s our right. At least so far.

There is more than a little hypocrisy associated with the writer’s outrage over our promise. In fact, there are a number of posts at Obama sites that discuss exactly the same thing in reverse.

Apparently, as is the case throughout this primary season, Obama supporters firmly believe that it’s OK for them have feelings, but it’s not OK for a Clinton supporter to have the same feelings in reverse. This kind of puts the concept of future democracy under Obama into question, don’t you think? I mean, I sometimes get the feeling these folks are practicing. I kind of thought we were about to put the Bush Bully years behind us. But considering the comments made in response to the blogger as shown below, I kind of think “cancer” is definitely the appropriate word, but not in the way intended:

“We must separate loyal party members from counter-revolutionaries. The first shall inherit our glorious future. The second must be purged from us and history”.

-Mao Zedong 1953

We need to separate the 90% of Clinton supporters who are indeed good logical people and the Kool Aid Cultists like Jerome, Alegre, Lanny Davis, Susan Hu and Taylor Marsh.

The quicker we ditch these cancers, the better we all are.

I see. Thanks for clearing up what this Obama campaign really means.Talk about confirming our worst suspicions.

I thought you might like to see that there are indeed also cancerous Obama supporters, right there at the same complaining site, who have said the exact same thing! That’s correct. This blogger said “I will vote for John McCain if Hillary Clinton is the Democratic Nominee”. Apparently, they are a better marxist “cancer” than we are. See?:

When we Clinton supporters saw these tirades, did we write a diary full of hypocritical outrage against the blogger? Of course not. Because after all, we are still living in a Democracy and Barack Obama hasn’t as yet changed that. This kind of behavior does conjure thoughts of exactly what kind of “change” Barack Obama has in mind with respect to our government, doesn’t it? But as of today, it’s still legal to do whatever we want in a voting booth, right?

Personally, I thank God that the General Election is not a caucus and nobody can bully anybody about who to vote for. But as it stands right now, there won’t be any buses full of overly aggressive class-cutting Obama chanting students standing too close to the voting locations. Everybody will be able to vote. Disabled people who couldn’t withstand caucus will get to vote. The elderly won’t have to caucus or stay home. They get to vote. People who work on shifts, such as police officers, firefighters, nurses, and other people who work to keep our butts safe will get to vote for whomever they want at their convenience. Nobody will get to pick who they vote for in their absence. It all just takes a minute! Just like a democracy!

My final question is: How come it’s OK for an Obama supporter to say he would rather vote for John McCain than Hillary Clinton, but it’s not OK for a Hillary Clinton supporter to say she or he would rather vote for John McCain than Barack Obama? — without being insulted, hassled or accused of “threats”. Just wondering.

Having lived in America for a fair amount of time now, I always thought that discussing who you were going to vote for constituted a preference not a “threat”. At least that’s the way it’s been up till now.

I guess that the lesson here is that Obama people still think they can tell Clinton supporters what to do. Kind of a Double Standard they think they have going for them. This seems to be a pretty common tone during this primary season, so we are fairly oblivious to it. After all, some of us have fought bigger monsters than an Obama supporter. Some of us are even financially supporting some of them in our homes. So Good Luck With That.

Is anyone listening to Ron Reagan on Air America right now? He is saying since HRC and Obama are just the same the only reason people are voting for Hillary is because they are racists. He is trying to get someone to call and explain why they are not voting for Obama.

Gee the Race Card. What a surprise. If you use your remote well enough, you can hear it every 15 minutes on TV.

They are not the same. Especially not in health care. And no it is NOT similar.

They are also not the same in that she isn’t chanelling Pakistan, domestic and foreign terrorists. Not to mention she’s not channeling Karl Marx.

Hmmm…….Uppity….I guess the reason it’s not okee dokey for you to promise not to vote for Obama because you are a CRACKER…Now if you were an African american it would still not be okee dokey but you would not be seen as racist….just as an uncle tom type assisting the CRACKER ESTABLISHMENT in the oppression….know what I mean ?
If you refuse to vote for Obama and are a woman….well then you are a feminazi…and if you are a man then you are either gay or pussywhipped or a racist….In OBAMA’S new world order….HYPOCRISY REIGNS…that is why these rules apply…..No Logic….Just Hypocrisy and nonsense…..Good Post

Ron Reagan, PLEASE!!!Do not say that Obama is the same as Hillary!!!PLEASE!!!!
For over 30 years, we practically know everything about Hillary. She is a dedicated public servant, a FIGHTER, fighting for you & me. Obama is a COWARD!!!He refused to accept the one-on-one debate challenge of Hillary after the humiliating lost he got from the last debate ABC, April 16, 2008. They only had 4 debates between the 2 of them. They also differ in their policies. In character: Hillary is a patriotic citizen while it is the reverse for Obama.
Why I will not vote for Obama??
BECAUSE I LOVE MY BELOVED AMERICA !!!GOD SAVE AMERICA !!! GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!

I’ve heard that nasty piece of drek MR also call for the extermination of Muslims, as well. His familiarity with the body politic and, possibly human decency, is on a par with a hog’s mastery of calculus. If named Mike Johnson, he’d have to get off his fat behind and get a job, rather than playing at being a Bargain Basement (or, “Seconds Department”) Lardass Limbaugh.

Jonah Goldberg could give this oaf Civility lessons.

Comment by Northwest rain | 2008-05-13 18:23:24

Very true. If someone is voting FOR snObama simply because he is black — then that person is in fact a racist.

I didn’t choose Hillary as my candidate because she is female — I choose Sen. Clinton because she is the BEST qualified candidate of the three left standing. And she has the stamina to carry on to the General Election and right to the WHITE HOUSE!

Remove race and gender — and just list experience and qualifications as well as detailed solutions to the massive problems America has — again the only candidate worthy of my vote is Hillary Clinton.

Comment by Theresa | 2008-05-13 16:17:47

Unfortunately, prejudice against women, especially in positions of authority and leadership, has never been addressed in the media in anything like the detail and commitment that prejudice against blacks has been addressed for the past fifty years. Many Hillary supporters had repeatedly been described by the media as poor white people without a college education. She finally redefined them as hard-working white people. Obviously, she had to say white or she would be called a liar because the media have reported that 98% of blacks have voted for Obama. She was immediately castigated for making a racist remark. If a black candidate had said that hard-working blacks would vote for him, no one would have considered it racist.

when my kids were little, I complained to Junior Scholastic and Weekly reader because all of their icons were male.
Scholastic told me point blank that they do this deliberately because a lot of little boys will not accept a girl icon. But girls will always accept a boy icon.
Cricket Magazine had tons of stories all written by women, about little boys doing cool things.
The young readers writing in were always little girls.
Whenever a girl did pop up in Cricket, she was passively sitting in a swing or helping mommy bake cookies.
Evenutally, Scholastic added a girl. She was dull in her little cute corporate skirt, and blond corporate haircut. The guy was a cute floppy loveable puppy with lots of character in his face.
YECH. YECH. YECH.

Sigh…this gets tiresome.

McCain: “Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly? Because her father is Janet Reno.” (1998)
http://www.salon.com/news/1998/06/25newsb.html

Townhall Participant: “How do we beat the bitch?” (referring to Hillary Clinton)
McCain: “That’s an excellent question.” (2008)
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/huff-wires/20071114/mccain-clinton-comment/

Voting for McCain is not a “protest” vote – it’s a way to work against:

-women’s rights
-gay rights
-a sensible foreign policy that involves getting out of Iraq
-fair taxation
-a sensible immigration policy
-the separation of church and state
-sound environmental policies
-progress on the health care issue

…and many more!

So, if you don’t get a chance to pull the lever for Hillary in the fall, and you can’t hold your nose and vote for Obama, for Pete’s sake use the write-in option. If you vote for McCain you have NO right to call yourself a feminist.

As a lifelong journalist, that says to me that the true context of the joke is not known and therefore just an unsubstantiated rumor that he said exactly what you printed here.
In my opinion, it takes a lot of nerve for an Obama supporter to accuse John McCain of being a media darling. If it wasn’t for FoxNews, most of America would still be swooning and thinking that Obama was the unblemished second coming of Christ.

There’s been enough sexism to go around. That joke about Chelsea is over a decade old and he apologized (something Obama has never done). I don’t appreciate the townhaller’s comment, nor his response, but it is no worse than the crap that has come directly out of Obama’s mouth, his wife’s mouth, his surrogates’ mouths and the mouths of his supporters. Yet Obama has remained silent (except when he’s spewing sexist bullshit and race baiting) on these issues.

When you only have two blatant sexists to choose from, you choose the one with a clear record and experience, and not the one who claims to be a member of your party but will clearly govern from the Right. I’ll take an experienced Republican over an inexperienced, arrogant, hypocritical, corrupt, Democrat-in-name-only any day.

JKFritz — got the message Obama is worried that we Hillary supporters will vote for McCain. Too late buddy, your boy thinks we are not good enough to vote in the Democratic Party now that you have a new and improved party–you don’t seem to need the base.

Obama watched as his people called Hillary every name under the sun and said nothing. The Clinton’s racist??? Thats what turned me off — so don’t think you can make nicey nicey with people like me. I will never vote for a man who hates a majority of Americans who are white. If you didn’t get enough of what he said about rural Pennsylvanians then you should read his books–he hates us pal. I don’t care if Obama stands on his head bowls 300 I will never vote for him.

How is what John McCain has said about Hillary any different than Obama? It seems that Obama has been every bit as bad. And Cindy has at least been nice while Michelle has been disgusting.

Obama is NOT for separation of church and state. He is for more of the same in that area.

You left out national security. The main reason any of us would vote for McCain would be national security. Anyone who hangs with terrorists like Obama shouldn’t be anywhere near the oval office. Also Obama is unqualified.

Comment by JKFriz | 2008-05-13 15:36:47

I don’t think a man who doesn’t know a Sunni from a Shiite is qualified to be anywhere near the Oval Office either. And I think that outside of McCain’s military record, his foreign policy choices – which are what matters – have been astonishingly poor. What particular national security credentials make you feel comfortable about McCain, then?

Comment by Lucinda | 2008-05-13 16:22:22

I don’t think a man who says we have 57 states should be anywhere near the White House. But, of course, we should forgive every misstatement that comes from the mouth of the great and powerful Obama while flogging McCain and Clinton for theirs.

Michelle Obama about Bill Clinton “I want to rip his eyes out”. Michelle Obama’s brother “Hillary Clinton is a disgrace to her gender. She is disgusting”. Obama senior advisor Susan Rice “Hillary is a monster”. Obama supporter Randi Rhodes “Hillary is a fucking whore”.

Obama mentor Reverand Wright – God where to start on the hate-filled diatribe he spewed against Hillary and Bill Clinton in church!

It goes on and on. If we were to list all of the evil that has been said against Hillary Clinton by Obama supporters in just the last few months it would take all night. It goes on and on, esepcially when you get to the blogs and MSM. CDS resides in the Obama camp.

So, McCain is pretty mild.

Comment by JKFriz | 2008-05-13 15:40:30

I would say that if you can quote Randi Rhodes, than obviously “Hillary Clinton Supporter” Uppity Woman has said things just as hateful about Obama. And I think you’re looking for Samantha Power with your third quote; Samantha was immediately canned for saying that.

I note that none of your quotes come from Obama himself. I’ll wait for something from him before I acknowledge that he is in fact more misogynistic than John McCain.

It’s exactly behavior like yours that makes me NOT want to vote for your candidate if he is the nominee. You come to this site just to belittle Hillary supporters and stir sh&t up. How much does a paid blogger make per blog?

Go back to the BO campaign and explain to them that your actions alienate us more, not less…

We don’t HAVE to vote for anyone or we can vote or write in whoever we choose.

After the way I was treated at the Orange Satan, I honestly don’t know if I can ever vote for BO. If he brings out this kind of behavior in others, and does absolutely NOTHING to step forward and disavow this kind of behavior, why would I want four more years of the same kind of behavior.

I have been watching CNN and the BO supporters are whining about racism, wah, wah, wah, we couldn’t make calls because we got hung up on, people made rude gestures at us when we held up signs, etc., etc. everyone is so…..racist!!! These people really, really need to get over themselves. I supported Kerry in 2004 and you know what he was a white guy and people around here treated me the same dam way, but becuase BO is the “black candidate” it’s all about racism….I’m just about sick of the media and BO’s campaign talking about racism when 93% of the black voters voted for him in NC….is this not racist too? I’m about sick of his whole campaign…

His campaign has been divisive and race baiting from start to finish and I probably will NEVER, EVER forgive him for his false portrayal of the CLinton’s as racist and like the country wasn’t better off during the CLinton administration and even giving kudos to REAGAN.

When he apologizes to the CLintons for his, his campaign’s and his followers treatment of the Clinton’s, I’ll think about voting for him, can’t do that BO, well kiss my racist wh*te vote good-by.

That’s my plan, being as McCain will carry about 65% of the vote in my state. If I lived in a battleground state, I’d put country before party in a split second and vote for McCain. It isn’t the End of the World if McCain wins (I survived worse), and Obama isn’t the Second Coming.

Comment by beebop | 2008-05-13 17:53:15

I’m in Ohio. We WILL be a battleground state. I will have to look at the polling as it gets close. As I stand there, it may in fact be essential that I cast a ballot for McCain in order to ensure that Ohio goes Republican. God, I can’t believe that I am saying that. Hard to believe that four years ago Ohio could have made a huge difference.

Have you noticed that all of the sudden, on the day that West Virginia voters are projected to give Hillary a win by a huge margin, that there are dozens of stories in the major papers and internet that imply that Hillary supporters are racist?

Now me, I don’t believe in coincidences.

Comment by s. hall | 2008-05-13 18:00:27

First Obama calls us racist — now he realizes that he can’t win without us. What a pathethic piece of shit he is. I will not be guilty for wanting a president with experience–We have 2 wars going on and $5.00 gas by July. People are losing their homes and their jobs at record rates. Obama is nothing but a moaner. He lived his easy life and took from money from his fat cat pals to get by. Forgive me if I cannot feel sorry for Obama at this time but I have a life to live.

Look you moron…we would rather vote McCain than Obama even with all the things you think McCain is for/against…He loves this country. I love this country..kos does not love this country…obama does not love this country and Meeesecelle hates everything about this country….Listen and listen good we will not vote for Obama ever and we will not write in Hillary .
WE WILL VOTE AGAINST OBAMA AND ALL HIS EVIL FRIENDS AND ALL THE HATE AMERICA CROWD…BY VOTING MCCAIN
There are more of us typical white folks then there are of you latte drinkers and we ALL vote …live with that fear . and your mega loss in November.

Comment by JKFriz | 2008-05-13 15:48:03

Mr. sawbuck, I’d suggest you look at poll after poll after poll that shows Sen. Obama leading over John McCain.

The latest:

Your final statement seems to be categorically untrue – unless you have some other proof to back it up.

Comment by scott | 2008-05-13 15:50:49

THEN WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU WORRIED ABOUT?
IF HES’S GONNA WIN ANYWAY WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU CARE WHO WE VOTE FOR!

Comment by JKFriz | 2008-05-13 15:54:42

Of course I’m worried about McCain being president. He’s not fit for the job. I want the Democratic nominee to annihilate him in November, and so does Hillary Clinton.

Comment by scott | 2008-05-13 16:00:31

But you quote poll after poll that shows you that your buy is going to win. Trust in that and leave us alone.
You’ve done your job.

Comment by LBJ's Love Child | 2008-05-13 16:14:22

Well, Obama leads in many “popular polls” right now (before the nation has really seen him up close). But he isn’t leading in the Electoral College breakdowns. Oh, he’ll pop up for a day or two, but he consistently trails McCain in the EC.

The DNC’s “Big Urban Plan” didn’t work for Gore, it didn’t work for Kerry, and REALLY won’t work for Obama.

No Florida, no Michigan, no Ohio, no Pennsylvania. And no Wyoming, either. This election is a Divine Wind strategy by the DNC…. an Electoral Suicide Bombing.

Comment by bamaoil | 2008-05-13 18:06:55

Well, Obama is the underdog.

Really, the Republicans know how it works, they’re not used to taking it up the ass, though…

Some of Obama’s biggest supporters are Texas “Republican” oil men.

Why?

sobering numbers coming out of WV exit polls…dems voters exit poll this way..per CNN…Obama 36% McCain 35%.. 29% would not vote or vote for someone else…

Hillary would win by 51% by all dems to McCain 31%

go ahead trolls spin those freaking numbers…oh and no Pres has won without WV since 1916..

No one asks why over 90% of African Americans are voting for Obama. They are playing the race card and it’s obscene. I wonder what you arguement is for not voting for Cynthia McKinney would be?

Comment by Mc | 2008-05-13 19:03:06

John McCain and his supporters, nor anyone else have ever called me a racist or a bigot. Yet many Obama supporters did when I tried to explain the historical, and legislative significance of HRC’s remarks re MLK/LBJ. They continue to do so any time I express my unwavering support for HRC.

Nor have I ever heard McCain accuse HRC or WJC of being racists. He has the sense and a command of the past to know the idiocy of such. Not true with BHO, Michelle, or their backers.

Never heard Cindy McCain say she wished to claw WJC’s eyes out, etc. On and on, the Obama campaign is about pernicious insults, race baiting, and holier-than-thou platitudes.

Obama supporters have denigrated HRC and us at every turn, and continue to do so. I would never cast my lot with them under any circumstance. Never a vote for Obama! I would fell much more comfortable with McCain if it comes to that.

Better the devil you know than the one you don’t know. Bo is an unknown with some old school power brokers looking for their last chance at control. I don’t trust him. McCain is more of a moderate than he appears. That’s why the republicans aren’t thrilled about his nomination.
If we are sucessful in holding/adding dem seats in the House and increasing senate seats by 5-8, we can control both and have a good chance of over-riding vetos.
That will be enough for me if McCain wins.

Do you think Obama would be worse than McCain?! We’ve all heard him joke about bomb-bomb-bomb Iran; McCain now thinks torture is just fine! As bad as Obama would be, McCain is virtually running on a promise of a third Bush term.

I’d tolerate McCain, if and only if, there was a strong Democratic controlled Congress; otherwise it has to be Obama. While not tied at the hip with Obama’s fortunes per se, my hope is that Obama slime doesn’t wear off onto Congressional candidates once the GOP 527 hate machine starts rolling.

That’s why Hillary supporters have to vote Democratic on the rest of the ticket no matter what. Don’t vote for Obama. I don’t blame anyone but make sure there is a strong Democratic presence in Congress before even considering voting for McCain.

I don’t like either one of them and I don’t have to vote for either one of them. I have other options.

As for the Democratic party. Who cares about that? They abandoned the core values of the party to support an empty suit who could give a speech. Rather like supporting a snake-oil salesman or used car salesman for president and working to destroy and bury the candidacy of the woman that the core value voters support.

As far as I’m concerned, the DNC stands for nothing. And if you stand for nothing, then no one will stand with you.

That’s not a fair comment. We already have racism and sexism, so we’re going to add ageism, too? Maybe we should wait until we’re mature enough to handle it.

Yeah, i have one of those 26yo Obamaphytes in my house. He lost his job 4 weeks ago. He says he has spent hours on line filling out applications and has yet to find a job. GO FIGURE!!

He, like so many of these Obamaphytes, thinks that the HOPEY CHANGEY land of opportunity is going to walk right up to his door and hand him all that he thinks he is entitled to. I don’t know crap about anything when i tell him that he needs to go find opportunity. It isn’t going to come to him.

He thinks that all the glorious things that Lord Obama promises (HOPEY CHANGEY) are just around the corner and that all his followers will reap the deserved benefits of being Obamaphytes.

Today, he was given an ultimatum: find a job or find another place to go.

Perhaps there is a place for all these young Obamazoids to live so that that hope and change thing will find him. This house is built on realities and the reality is, you have to find it.

God forbids, that Barack Obama is the Democratic nominee, can Hillary be declared the next USA President, when she wins in November general election by write-ins?
If yes, then let us make it happen. If not, do not waste vote, defeat Obama, by voting McCain, my humble opinion. That is what I’ll do.To vote for Obama is to vote for his questionable, shady campaign advisers. Why risk America? Red flag!!!

Comment by Uppity | 2008-05-13 16:31:55

Comment by CA90064 | 2008-05-13 16:48:37

I agree. A write-in vote won’t help as much as a vote against Obama. Don’t split the votes. Create an overwhelming tide AGAINST Obama. Vote McCain now, and Hillary in 2012

Comment by bamaoil | 2008-05-13 17:05:22

BS.

It doesn’t matter how the vote goes, the last two elections were most likely stolen.

And Obama’s group wouldn’t do it to McCain, given the strength of the mid eastern players, and the Russians, in the US, over the past 7 years?

Oil’s most excellent adventure enabled a lot, in addition to it’s own death.

You are in candy land if you don’t see how they plan to play McCain.

If Obama sets it self up like the Iraqis, say, to the typical republican line of attack, you’ve lost.

Understand the theory behind the moves in Iraq, can you see the bigger game?

Apparently not, given how the US is doing, and you, a republican.

I see many republicans confidently looking at the 527’s thinking OK, we will beat him with this, sound familiar, like you’re being set up, to fall? You know the drill.

Sure seems like it to me…

I want big oil to fall, either candidate, McCain or Obama, they shoot themselves.

Comment by CA90064 | 2008-05-13 17:55:48

Comment by Patrick Walker | 2008-05-13 16:18:39

Good luck on that. Even Kucinich got Big Oil money. Nothing wrong with taking corporate money if you turn around an clobber them anyway. Do I think Obama would do that?

A lot to absorb, better to make it someone else’s problem.

And you can bet it is…

Patrick — as a lifelong Democrat who has never voted for a Republican what troubles me is that my party seems to have bought into Obama’s bullshit hook, line and sinker. Look at Teddy Kennedy — who is older than dirt saying that Hillary is part of the past and that she has no leadership qualities. What is he THE FUTURE? Hypocrisy reigns.

Comment by Uppity | 2008-05-13 18:27:39

Teddy was always the Loser in the Kennedy Family. They dragged him along. His entire history is of a guy who won the sperm lottery. Indeed he got past the life guards in the gene pool because his two brothers made him look like a dunce. History on this guy goes all the way back to being tossed out of college for cheating. The only reason this guy is a senator is because he shares DNA with two great men. If not, he would surely have been sucking wine from a box under the tracks.

Uppity you are absolutely right. I PROMISE not to vote for Obama in November. In fact Axelrod could offer me $1,000,000 and I would still not vote for Obama. I’m an American first, and this man should not be allowed to walk on the White House lawn as far as I’m concerned. He has used criminal tactics to win most of his delegates. He has race baited repeatedly. He has lied more times than I count. He has associated himself with radical un-American people throughout his life. His arrogance is so appalling that he is only concerned with himself, and has not interest in what is good for America or what is good for us Democrats. I will not condone this behavior with one blood cell in my body. Obama and his supporters can go to hell.

The Right Wing owned media will turn on Barky like a junkyard dog. They will leave Olberman and Matthews to fondle themselves behind their desks during their segments though, just because they will want to look “fair”.

Remember, they gave us George Bush. Twice.

Comment by Patrick Walker | 2008-05-13 15:47:19

No. The MSM never turns on the Republican candidate so their only alternative is to drag Obama over the coals.

The MSM loves to pump people up into fantastic public figures, then chop their legs out from under them and gossip about them on their way down.

I still think that this time is different. Obama is the “Chosen One” of the powers that be. They want him to be the one to keep the Democrats in line. HA! That will be the day. I believe they wanted a charasmatic leader to oversee the economic catastrophe looming. Obama will make the little people sacrifice so the fat cats can rape the country some more. He will try and convince us to privatize social security, have endless war. It will be much easier to muster support from democrats to thwart McCain than it would to try and stop Obama from the left. He would run over the Dems and get no grief form the GOP, except lip service because he will be doing their bidding.

As far as I am concerned, everyone can vote for whoever they want. Barack supporters can vote for McCain if Hillary somehow shanghais the nomination from the candidate who has won the most states, won the most delegates, won more votes and raised more money . . . after all, to think that the number of votes you get is an accurate gauge of your support is . . . curious, no? And Hillary supporters can vote for McCain and feel good in knowing that Roe v. Wade was put out to pasture with their tacit support. So have at it Hill folks! Vote for McCain. but if you can’t get a smazbortion when you need one, don’t blame Barack!

Comment by Sugar | 2008-05-13 15:57:32

I will vote for McCain over Hillary because he would be a better president than her. And I would vote for Obama over McCain for the same reason. Comment by CA90064 | 2008-05-13 16:59:54

Uh… not to put my foot in it or anything, but wouldn’t it be the Superior Court that would over-turn Roe v. Wade?

And wouldn’t any judge nominated by McCain to the post of Superior Court Judge have to be confirmed and appointed by the Senate Judiciary Committee?

And, if I’m not completely mistaken, isn’t the Senate (and the House, come to think of it) majority Democrats?

So, how could simply voting McCain over-turn Roe v. Wade without the explicit assistance of the Democratic Senate?

After the 60s…The Really Militant arm of the Prtotest Movement..that shouted HO HO HO CHI MIHN..said they were going Underground and were going to Infiltrate Our System and work from within..they all put on suits and ties and dress’s and got busy…

Even the republicans have strange Policys now that are Destructive to the Best interests of the United States..and One has to question Why..was the Infiltration in the Republican party more COVERT..
because it had to be so it wouldn’t attact attention..??

Why wouldnt Marxists try to Infiltrate BOTH Partys…Look at the Strange Politics of Liberman and McCain..What are They anyway..??

The Infiltration of Marxist leaning liberals in the democrat Party has been more OVERT..It is expected that the democrats would have all kinds of Progressives and Liberals…from Conservative..to Moderates to far “LEFT”..

Why is it always “THE FAR LEFT..” even when they are known Communists or Marxists..??

Now..The Chicago TRINITY..Muslim NOI..Black Liberation and Jewish Activists…)has Trotted out thier

I think the best they Hoped for was a VP Spot on Hillarys Ticket in the In..and Hope to Infitrate the Executive branch of the United States Government that way..think about it…What are the Odds that Obama would lead the Party ..??

He was packaged and sold TOO Well by Axelrod..and I think Axelrod has done the People of the united states a Favor..by Over selling Obama.

Now ALL the attention is on Obama and His Organization…His background, his Mentors and Associates…and Huess What…They are all some kind of either radicals, revolutionarys, Marxists, Communists, Terrorists or Racial Activists..

Thanks to Axelrod…The whole CHICAGO Netwrork is being Exposed..and Hopefully will be Brought Down under the PATRIOT ACT..by someone who will act responsibally in the GOVERNMENT..

It’s not the first time Marxism was tried in the party. All it succeeds in doing is embarrassing the party in the GE. The MAJORITY of the party is not loud and obnoxious like the far left. They are a fringe party that can’t make it on their own so they keep trying to bully the democrats every now and then. Think McGovern. Think Dukakis. Frankly they should be run out of the party, not the rest of the people. They embarrass us every single time. People do not want to be socialists. They do not want to be Marxists either. They want to be Americans in a Democracy. Thus, the silent majority gets ticked off every single time and blows their butts to high heaven by voting Republican. And it’s always an ugly result. I mean downright humiliating. This humiliation marginalizes the party for years, until a moderate shows up and the people rebel and say THAT IS WHAT I WANT! If plenty of people knew what they know about Obama now before their Primaries they wouldn’t have voted for him. Then they stacked it by dumping the revotes of two states. The man is a FIX. A very DUMB fix. These anti American morons, both here and in the middle east are downright offensive to America and they are the reason why Democrats have only elected TWO presidents in the past 30 years.

Obama’s candidacy just reminds me that every 20 years or so the far left needs to get smacked REAL HARD. The far left will NEVER choose a presidential candidate who will go on to win the general election. Far too many Obama supporters are too young to remember McGovern in 72 or Mondale in 84 or even Dukakis in 88.

Isn’t it ironic that if you take away Carter in 76 (who only won because Ford pardoned Nixon) and the 1960 election where Kennedy’s father apparently stole Illinois for his son, that the only elected democratic presidents of the last 60 years were William Jefferson Clinton and LBJ? Two tough Democrats who weren’t afraid to do what it takes to win.

Differences between Obama and Clinton? She helped Bill design a national legislative agenda that reversed damages of three republican admins, turned deficit into surplus, created a massive economic boom, and improved almost every statistic in the book. She went to the mat for universal health care against overwhelming opposition and was willing to suffer a crippling defeat. He won’t support universal care even when the dems enjoy huge political capital. He knows zilch about policy formation, ruined Clinton bipartisanship with Wright and BitterGate, and recites a dated liberal wish list that will do nothing to solve current problems.
She would win the ge by a larger number, enjoy a greater mandate, and be able to govern effectively and advance the progressive agenda for years to come.
He’s a creation of corporate media, and would fail in office and cause us to loose the congress and presidency in the next cycle.
There are plenty more differences, of course, but a mountain of evidence has no effect on people who don’t know the difference between policy debate and Obama’s shallow rhetoric.

I’ve been waiting (in vain) for some smart interviewer to ask Obama, “You’ve had an awful lot of achievements in your life, but what exactly have you ever accomplished?” 143 days in the Senate? Someone commented that they have leftovers in their refrigerator with more “seasoning” than 143 days. Everything he has touched in an effort to help anyone other than himself has turned to crap. He was a “fair housing activist” on the South side of Chicago, and how did that turn out? He became Rezko’s B**ch, and sold the residents of his district down the river for pieces of Rezko’s government subsidized silver, while they (the residents) froze their asses off without heat. He went to talk with the union workers at Whirlpool about helping them keep their jobs and their factory open, and he sold those folks down the river as well, taking massive contributions of campaign funds from the Crown family, owner of the company, and never even raising the subject of the workers and their precarious situation with the Crowns, while the company shuttered the plant, and sent all the jobs abroad. He has acknowledged his lack of direct or hands-on experience, but he says that is irrelevant when matched against his flawless and outstanding good judgment. The same good judgment that had him sitting in the pews of Rev. Wright for 20 plus years, while subjecting his children to hateful themes and a racist ideology. The same good judgment that had him doing Rezko’s bidding and entering into questionable real estate transactions with this future federal inmate. The same good judgment that convinced him that it was a really great idea to go associate with and work for an unrepentant domestic terrorist. I don’t see how this country will be able to survive any more of his exercises in good judgment.

Right on! I really wish FOX or ABC would do a story on how Obama’s campaign has cheated time after time. Bullying and intimidation at caucuses. He’s such a lame candidate.

Comment by Sammie | 2008-05-13 16:45:56

I find the word “threat” misleading, because when I say I would vote for McCain over Obama, I am not making a threat, I am merely stating a fact. I still hope Clinton has a chance, but if she doesn’t, McCain is by far my second choice.

There are just so many disconnects between Obama’s record and his rhetoric, I can’t understand how anyone can really be sure they know what he stands for. More than most other politicians, he seems to blow with the winds of fortune, moving from one group of “friends” to the next as he leap frogs from one position to another.

So is he a left wing radical, a corporate sell out or something in between? What is his true ideology?

I certainly can’t predict the choices others will make, but I know that as a life long Democratic leaning Independent, this is the first time I’m contemplating voting for a Republican presidential candidate.

For any Obama supporters that read here, aren’t you at all concerned that even with all the media calls for Clinton to drop out, the electorate has not coalesced behind his candidacy? Granted, he may still end up as the nominee, but aren’t you at all worried about his apparent weaknesses among segments of the electorate he’ll need to win in the general election?

That’s like saying just because they’re women I’m supposed to connect with the likes of Andrea Mitchell, Randi Rhodes, Rachel Maddow, Donna Brazile, Elizabeth Hasselbeck or Anne Coulter.

I’d probably stand a better chance of connecting to Mrs. McCain.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE AND SEE WHAT YOU CAN DO. WE’RE TRYING (OVER AT SAVAGE POLITICS) TO SEE IF THE LAW FIRM WILL ACCEPT PAYPAY. PLEASE READ (POSTED BY MARYCUSACK AT SAVAGE POLITICS.COM

$upport National Ad for Clinton
Susie Buell is one of the dems major fundraisers, it’s legit. I recommend you support the campaign first, this second.

For the past week, there have been whisperings and rumblings about, “we need to do an ad”, or, “we need to write an open letter to the Delegates and the American people” among various Hillary supporters. And so we did (see attached and below).

The stakes are so high in this race; they are so far beyond a simple question of “who” will be our next President; this election is about what is to become of our nation. We all know this…deeply…which is why we are moved to create and place this ad asking this nation and the SD’s to wait for the entire primary process to play itself out. Every vote MUST be heard. Every state MUST be included. NOBODY has the right to ask Hillary to step aside when so much is on the line.

In order to place this ad according the schedule below, we have started a PAC called WomenCount PAC. The FEC ID will be issued in the next day or two at most. In order to place this “open letter” ad, the WomenCount PAC will need to raise $80,000 by close of day Tuesday, May 13 and a total of $250,000 by Saturday, May 17. The letter will run in full-page format in the front section as follows:

1) USA Today – Thursday, May 15

2) NYTimes Sunday Edition – Sunday, May 17

3) Portland Oregonian – Sunday, May 17

4) Medford Mail Tribune – Monday, May 19

A press release, blog and viral email blitz will accompany the timing of the USA Today and NYT placements and we hope to begin a wave of “patience” and desire to see this entire process through to the end.

We hope you will reach into your heart and into your wallet and give any amount between $20 and $5000 dollars to put this important letter up. As you can see, we must receive at least $80,000 by the end of the day on Wednesday. Checks should be made out to WomenCount PAC. It is imperative that you Federal Express your checks to:

yes. And this.

Obama is running on a platform of “post-partisanship” right? And, these so-called “progressives” tout this “post-partisan” platform at every turn, as if “post-partisan” automatically translates into GOP surrender. [dream on, boys and girls].

But, here’s the thing: If we’re REALLY post-partisan, then Democrats can vote for John McCain, see? Because he’s a moderate Republican after all, and he’s for environmental policies and torture policies that all progressives should be able to support.

So, for Obamabots to deride Clinton supporters who may vote for McCain just proves that they aren’t really post-partisan at all. They are FOOLS; they’ve been BAMBOOZLED; they’ve been HOODWINKED into thinking that ONLY OBAMA is allowed to be “post-partisan.”

And, when he starts appointing Republicans to his cabinet–as he has SAID he will do–then these BAMBOOZLED, HOODWINKED, FOOLS who call themselves “progressives” will be outraged.

And, of course, if they’re NOT outraged, they’re hypocrites. Because if Obama can appoint REPUBLICANS to his cabinet, why can’t DEMOCRATS vote for McCAIN?

Comment by bmc | 2008-05-13 17:52:38

This is so good:

Watch out. Barack Obama is SO STUPID and UNINFORMED that he thinks because his name is BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA, and he’s been to Pakistan and lived in Indonesia that somehow Muslims won’t find him as threatening as Bush!

It’s just another example of his INEXPERIENCE. Because this blows that delusion RIGHT OUT OF THE WATER.

Fascinating article concerning the projections some Obama supporters make and how wrong they could be about his helping improve our relations with the Muslim world…in fact, it could just make them far worse.

Yeah, some “strategists” make plans thinking every thing is so cut and dried, for instance an oil man assuming he can run foreign policy the same way he runs his business, sort of like Dick Cheney thought he could govern, or control, from the presidency.

It doesn’t quite work out that way, and operating from within the US, and minding their manners, they’ve never really come up against any hard core opposition.

My vote for McCain over Obama is not a threat…it is a promise.

Unfortunately, if Obama is anywhere on the ticket even with Hillary, I vote for McCain.

McCain is a viable option. People need to get over the “can’t vote for a Republican” again concept.

Who knows who Obama is …. and what he will and will not do. We have seen his judgment in people already, we see what he has done versus the rhetoric,….we see that we are more divided than ever… (his divide and conquer theory)…Obama played the American people.

With Mccain, we know exactly what we are getting, and we know he loves this country. We don’t know that about Obama and Michelle.

VOTE FOR MCCAIN ….. if the choice is Obama McCain.

Hillary or McCain will be the next President. The elitist of the Democratic party will be deciding between Hillary and McCain when they pick the Dem nominee… I just wished they would believe it.

They are all out of touch with the American people.

As suggested by http://www.writehillaryin.com, here are the ?s and comments I sent to the DNC:

Why are you forcing an unqualified candidate down our throats?
Why did Nancy take Impeachment off the table?
Why can’t you realize that the Repubs are going to have a field day with Obama?
Why do we have caucuses and delegates when we have voters?
Why don’t FL and MI count?
Why doesn’t my vote today in NE count, but the votes of a small group of available caucus attendees do?

I will write in my vote for Hillary. The media and the DNC have been shameful to Hillary and YOU KNOW IT! But guess what, WE KNOW IT, TOO!
I’m from a red state, so my vote wouldn’t matter to you, I know that, as well. Maybe my vote(s!!!!) would matter to the Republicans? Hmm…… if you guys keep pushing, I just might vote for Republicans for the first time in my life! And I’m a liberal! If you drive me to that, we’re done!!

Oh but you forgot that 13 of the DNC rule makers are a part of Hillary’s crew, and that they came up with and approved the rules regarding Florida and Michigan, which stated that if they proceeded to vote before the stated date, that those states dels would not be sat. And then Hillary agreed to and signed onto the new rules, you know the 2,025 number, which her campaign quoted as the # of del’s needed before this last couple weeks and the new 2,209 number the Clintonista are now throwing around suddenly showed up.

So how is it, she was for it before she was against it?

He will NEVER be president and you people who fell for his rallies straight out of the Youth Movement Playbook will have marginalized the party for a decade. AGAIN! Why the hell don’t you go back to your own radical fringe party and leave the rest of America alone? You people show up every freaking decade like a plague. You win the battle by sheer riot threats and then you lose the war because and the majority of the party, who are adults who don’t enjoy being bullied by radical assholes and children, end up voting for some republican just to get rid of you.

The crap in Obama’s background hasn’t even BEGUN to surface. You people are the reason the Democratic party has only elected two freaking presidents in thirty years! And only ONE of them served two terms. You know why? Because he was a moderate, that’s why.

3. You are a robot.

how bout that poll that had Hillary behind at any time in Indiana?

See, my mom comes from Indiana, my gramps, aunts, uncles and cousins are still there. All in about a 50 mile radius of Fort Wayne.
My gramps heard Hillary say in her victory speech that “We came from far behind here in Indiana, no one here thought we could win”.

He said thats a bold face lie, so I looked for a poll showing her behind, can’t find it.
mostly cause its not there. My relatives all except one cousin voted for Senator Obama, they have guns, they are bitter, they go to church every sunday and pray for a better life.

Thats all I want, is a better life, you can call me any name you like, I read I listened, I even read all the crap on here.

Anyway, like I said, keep up your name calling, not as many of us will be around for hillary if you keep treating the rest of the party like a bunch of koolaid can’t think for themselves Obamabots.

Obama was not raised in a slum and is more elitist than most.

Mr. Obama has portrayed himself as coming from a poor background. I actually would say he has been most fortunate

He talks about his mother, Stanley Ann Soetoro, being on food stamps for a while. We never hear about her being a capable, intelligent woman who ultimately obtained a PHD. She worked for the Women’s World Bank. Obama’s biological father was also highly educated. His step-father was also a college educated

He also had supportive grandparents. His grandmother was a bank executive.
Obama went to an exclusive private school, and two elite colleges.

Obama keeps whining about paying off his college loans.

What I want to know is how much financial aid did he receive? Did his family ever help him out financially? Did he receive student financial aid or scholarships?

Obama has a McMansion. So I think it time to stop moaning about your low interest loans. The interest is much higher lately.

And maybe he could start being thankful for those that helped him along the way.
Obama was not raised in a ghetto.

Compare Hillary’s early background with his and you might find that he did have more advantages as a youth except for a supportive father.

Obama has rewritten his life.
