A NEW Chris Matthews Classic: Hillary is the Al Sharpton of White People

Via Michael Calderone’s blog at Politico.com:

When Chris Matthews says something he thinks is clever, it usually keeps coming up throughout the night.

Early in Tuesday’s primary coverage, Matthews said that if Hillary Clinton uses the word “white” once more, she could be called “the Al Sharpton of white people.”

A couple of hours later, talking to Sen. Bob Casey, Matthews mentioned how he doesn’t like using labels like white” or “working class.” Matthews said, “We’re not sociologists; we’re Americans.”

And again, Matthews said that when Clinton uses the word “white,” that “it’s almost like she’s the Al Sharpton of white people.” ..

BELOW: Pat Buchanan chuckles over Matthews’ infamous comment about Barack making a “tingling” go up his leg — does ANYONE have a better laugh than Buchanan?!

HERE is the infamous “tingling” comment:

And here is a brief collection of some of Matthews’ greatest “hits”:

There are SO MANY more videos, but here’s one more — from January 30, 2008 — of Matthews’ DESPAIR over Barack’s poor performance:

Susan you need to put up the video of him pressing the guy from texas who didn’t know anything about barky. It shows the complete 180 he took regarding barky

Comment by Cindy | 2008-05-14 16:23:11

Scott–
“The guy from texas”, Kirk Watson, is an old friend of ours. The signicance of his inability to come up with one thing that Obama has done(as seen on Chris Matthews’ show) is that Kirk is not a dumb, uninformed oaf. Before he became a Texas State Senator, Kirk was the mayor of Austin, Texas. He is also a very talented, articulate trial attorney. Therein lies the significance. Obama is an empty suit, and these political guys, like Kirk, know that. But they want in on the “action”, in hopes of a political appointment of some sort down the road. It’s very distressing and disappointing, to say the least!

Is anyone surprised? He keeps claiming to be a demo but was one of the “liberal” media who talked about Monica continuously back in the the 1990’s. Helping to give us a wonderful Republican Congress for a decade. I think he just doesn’t like the Clinton’s.

Probably jealous since he can’t understand why if he’s so smart, he isn’t the President.

It is my preference — not command, but preference — that he not be spoken of here again.

HE IS DEAD TO ME.

He betrayed himself and his wife and that they BOTH knew better.

Edwards knows without kowtowing to Barky he can never run again for office.

See its been obvious for a while that Obama and Axelrod have been using the AA’s to extort and blackmail support from Democrats.

It works like a charm too.

And without AA’s supporting Democrats for office the party is dead. The DP just becomes a meet-up for boutique special interest groups.

And they can’t win back much of the white working class and middle-class because of betrayals on “free” trade, off-shoring of jobs, in-sourcing, importing foreign workers to replace American workers, etc.

Hillary was the DP’s last chance to stop the bleeding.

If Hillary doesn’t get the nomination, expect a mass exodus of remaining working and middle-class whites from the DP. Because the DP will have turned into the party of Sharpton, Wright and Jackson. Crackers need not apply.

People in Matthews profession fake “tingles” as part of their service delivery package. Of course he may have been referring to that funny feeling you get when you look over a precipice.

First thing I am doing is taking the names of the rats from my state, CA and I am going to try to send letters to the editors of papers in their districts.Just call them them on this betrayal. Let others know just what they are doing. Then I will support any of their opponents come election day and before with $$. Hill won CA by 15%. The will of the people and all that.

Barky just got endorsements from 3 former SEC chairmen.

Wow, Barky’s lineup now reads like a who’s who of D.C. insiders, losers, curruptocrats and Wall Street greed heads.

Anyone who amasses such a sordid lot of crooks and power hungry machine pols and monied elite spells disaster for the working class of this country.

For most people, the speech impediment gives him away.

There are many, many varieties of Crackerspeak, but his is uniform across both Carolinas and parts of Georgia north of Atlanta.

When you hear this accent, IMMEDIATLY put your hand on your wallet.

When someone with this accent says (usually through his nose), “My Word is my Bond,” you have just heard the Crackerspeak equivalent of, “Fuck you, you moron.”

Or, Noo Yawkspeak for, “Trust me.”

Toucheth not hands as Sureties with such men.

I’ve noticed the media pile on. The news isn’t about her big win. It’s about Edwards or Hillary being Sharpton or whatever. If this doesn’t tell folks who the media is in the bag for I don’t know what will. The same media that sold us the Iraq war. Chilling.

Obama hasn’t completed a full term as a US Senator. So where are all these big-time DC endorsements coming from? Not bad for a guy who claims he’s not part of the Washington elite.

Comment by candymarl | 2008-05-14 16:43:28

Sajo, we don’t need to look for another job. We don’t need to vote for McCain in November. All we need to do is stay home. Millions of us.

Comment by workingclass artist | 2008-05-14 16:50:21

Well Candy….If you follow the advise of Donna Brazeeealot and stay home
then OBAMA WILL DANCE NTO THE WHITE HOUSE IF HE IS THE DEM. NOMINEE…. I suggest you think about that….This is why Donna is antagonizing Hillary’s supporters and Hispanics….OBAMA IS COUNTING ON US TO STAY HOME….OR VOTE FOR HIM….

Comment by rwc | 2008-05-14 17:04:21

Screw it, I hate McCain but I’ll vote for him just to spite the latte liberals and all the other pointy headed idiots who are supporting Barky.

Comment by Uppity Woman | 2008-05-14 18:37:47

Exactly. You must vote.

From what I remember about Sharpton’s Presidential campaign is that he actually ran a cleaner one than Obama has. No race baiting that I ever saw.

He even made excellent points within the debates and displayed a sense of humor there as well as a command of the subjects. None of which I have seen from Obama’s campaign.

So while Tweety-tingle-thighs thinks it is an insult, he seems to have forgotten what kind of campaign that Sharpton ran.

Of course, that wasn’t his meaning since reality and nuance is lost on them except with Obama, but frankly I’m getting tired of the MSM smearing the Clintons. It’s hard to watch the news with such stuff on every channel. Geez…at least FoxNews goes after them equally. Is that too much to ask?

Sorry, i am just super uber fucking MAD.

The woman won a HUGE victory last night. A 41 fucking points and what the fucking media are talking about is fucking edwards endorsement. Fuck me.

Is this the fucking new politics that obama talks about? changing news cycle so no one would talk about his humiliating and fucking unprecedented HUGE defeat by 41 points?

This is old politics…this is exactly Bush-like politics. At least the republicans are good at it…There is nothing new about that snake oil salesman. He is a sneaky-corrupted Chicago politician…
