On Hillary’s Crushing Victory || A Random Blog Round-Up [Priceless Update]
By SusanUnPC on May 14, 2008 at 12:16 AM in Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, West Virginia
Truthteller just sent me the official tally page for West Virginia. Take note of the listing of Barack’s name. Well, folks, it is what it is. And one wonders, occasionally. why Mr. Obama shies away from the use of his full given name. I hope the NYTimes takes note!

OT, but this just HAS to go first, via Gateway Pundit:
The leading Democratic blog Daily Kos celebrated the Bush wedding by posting Jenna Bush wedding pictures with gruesome photos of Iraq War casualties: …
[WHAT IN THE NAME OF GOD IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE?!]
from CNN. Some bullet points.
– Culture and values matters in West Virginia, and it turns out that West Virginians don’t much value Barack Obama’s culture of bullshit and lies. A majority of West Virginia Democrats — 51% — believe that Barack Obama is _not_ honest and trustworthy, and 87% of these folks voted for Hillary Clinton. By contrast, a full 63% believe that Hillary is honest and trustworthy, and 83% of these Democrats voted for Clinton. Remarkably, 35% of West Virginia Democrats believe that among Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, only Hillary is honest and trustworthy. 98% of these folks voted for Hillary Clinton. Imagine being considered less honest and trustworthy than Hillary Clinton.
– If it came down to a vote between Barack Obama and John McCain in November, 28% said they would vote for McCain, 17% said they would not vote at all — leaving 51% of Democrat primary voters who said they would vote for Barack Obama in the fall. Hillary Clinton voters split a dead heat 36% - 35% between Obama and McCain if forced to chose between the two in November.
– A mere 1 voter in 4 said that Barack Obama doesn’t hold any views at all in common with his pastor of 20 years Rev. Jeremiah Wright. In other words, 3 out of 4 voters believe that Obama’s choice to spend 20 years with Rev. Wright does tell us something of Obama’s own views of the world.
– 44% of Democrat primary voters said they would be satisfied with the outcome of the process only if Hillary Clinton won the nomination. 53% said they would not be satisfied with an Obama candidacy for Presidency as the Democrat nominee.
– 52% of voters said that Obama does not share their values.
– Clinton took 69% of the union vote, 75% of the vote among those with no college education, and 69% of the vote among those making less than $50,000 a year.
– Obama did well among highly educated, very wealthy voters who subscribe to The Nation and look down at working class hicks who cling to their guns, their religion, and their flag pins (O.K., I’m extrapolating here, but only a bit). …
Okay, we can do some better back-of-envelope stuff. Clinton won the commander-in-chief question 68/29. The AP data I linked to above says that about 1 in 10 Obama supporters said that Clinton would make the better commander-in-chief, whereas “very few” Clinton supporters said that of Obama. …
Townhall Blog on the race factor:
Obviously, she’s been considerably bolstered in her dream to plow on by the revelation that fully 67 percent of Democratic voters wish her to plow on. Even among Obama voters, the number’s in the 40s. Talk about some validation. I’m particularly amused by the fact that the American electorate continues to mystify the Washington punditry and media by not acting in the manner pundits prescribe for the Democratic Party. It mystifies Beltway types so much, in fact, that the defiance of Democratic voters is the lede in this story: ..
Jeralyn at TalkLeft on “Media Misses the Electoral Map Issues“:
MSNBC just did an electoral vote segment. They made some critical errors.
They assumed Obama would take PA because John Kerry did. Barack Obama did poorly in PA, like he did in Ohio, with rural and blue collar voters. It’s more likely in my view that the Democrats will lose Ohio and PA if Obama is the nominee. Hillary has a better chance of keeping PA and winning back Ohio.
They gave no thought to Florida going Democratic in November. They assumed it will go to McCain. Hillary puts Florida in play.
Their silliest comments were that Obama could make the southern states competitive because of the large African-American turnout. Not that he would win them, just make them competitive and make Republicans nervous. But when you’re talking about the electoral map, coming close doesn’t count. If the Democratic nominee doesn’t win the popular vote in those states, the Republican candidate gets the electoral vote. …
…
While Clinton’s win is considered symbolic, the AP notes how Obama’s loss “underscored his weakness among blue collar voters who will be pivotal in the fall.” West Virginia exit polling indicated many Democrats would vote for McCain, instead of Obama, in an general election.
Obama, who was in Missouri today, said, “This is our chance to build a new majority of Democrats and independents and Republicans who know that four more years of George Bush just won’t do. This is our moment to turn the page on the divisions and distractions that pass for politics in Washington.”
[E]ven though Obama only campaigned a few events of one day in West Virginia this week, he has dumped the most resources into the state, from the Clinton campaign memo:
In the face of grim poll numbers, the Obama campaign has attempted to dismiss today’s outcome despite the fact that Sen. Obama has outspent us on advertising, has more staff in the state, and more than double the number of offices. He has also benefited from the support of the most high-profile endorsers in West Virginia-Sen. Jay Rockefeller and Congressman Nick Rahall. By every measure, the Obama campaign has waged an aggressive campaign in the Mountain State.
Despite being the so-called “presumptive nominee” and benefiting from these advantages, Sen. Obama has been unable to close a significant gap in the polls.
2:1, 3:1, or 4:1, it doesn’t seem to matter what the money Obama poured in has been, in terms of the expected results tonight.
But, that is why I commented last month that I thought WV would narrow down to around a 10 point margin in WV. It really is mind-boggling that Clinton, in today’s environment, is expected to win over 60 percent of the vote.
Obama’s campaign didn’t expect it. Their spreadsheet, which had been very accurate, predicted losing by ‘only’ a 43-55 margin.
BTD on what the night will bring:
I believe the storyline should be the one I have been discussing for days, how can Obama do better with white working class voters. There are thing he can do to improve his performance with that demo. I won’t be holding my breath that the Media will find that an interesting issue to discuss. The evilness of Hillary Clinton will be the subject of the night as it is most nights for the Media. I really wonder what they will talk and write about if and when Clinton is out of the race. They have nothing to say about either Obama or McCain. Seriously.I detest the way that traditional media interjects its decision-making into influencing Democratic politics with their boss media mentality.
West Virginia results by demographics
As predicted, Obama got drubbed in West Virginia, so it’s time to update my series on the predictors of his state-level support. If we put the exit poll data in context, we can see that he did much worse among whites in West Virginia than we would expect based in states with similar black populations: …
[...]
However, he did about as poorly as we would expect among whites given the proportion of state residents with college degrees, though West Virginia has fewer college graduates than any previous primary state in the sample:
Hillary Whomps Obama In West Virginia– Wright Factor Impacts Vote …Update: Rove Klans Byrd (Video) ..
Karl Rove Klans Byrd:
Don’t forget… “Senator Byrd, when he was a young man, was active in the Ku Klux Klan.”** 7 in 10 voters believe that Obama shares the views of his pastor and father-figure, the Reverend Jeremiah Wright.
Hillary thumped Obama today in the West Virginia Democratic Primary.
FOX News reported: …
Townhall blog:
Surprise, surprise. Hillary Clinton wins West Virginia by a hefty margin. The New York Times helpfully informs us that
The voter surveys showing a strong racial component to the West Virginia voting suggest that Mr. Obama would still face pockets of significant Democratic resistance if he does become the party’s first black nominee.
In other words, the Times suggests, many of those voting against Obama are doing so for racist reasons.
[Following a lengthy analysis of exit polls]
Overall, West Virginia provides a picture into the opinions and preferences of a particular slice of Democratic voter. WV is as skewed in its own way as South Carolina beacuse it over represents this part of the electorate; even so, it is an accurate reflection of how this state will impact the Electoral College vote in November. I think that the defection and abstention numbers can be cut in half for measuring the November vote, but even that allowance still spells disaster for the Obama campaign in what should be a blue state.
… However, it looks like WV Democratic party leadership is already looking past their commitments to Sen. Clinton. If Gov. Manchin’s invitation to Sen. Obama to attend a long-planned Clinton rally in heavily Clinton-voting territory isn’t a huge signal, I don’t know what is. (Of course, knowing our Governor, it could also be a signal that he’s going courting for a Cabinet nod…but maybe that’s just me.) Hell, Carville’s already started talking party unity and writing out a check for the Obama campaign…way to piddle on the Clinton parade today, James.
Meanwhile, it’s on to the next set of primaries. And the continuing saga of questions raised by anonymous e-mail spammers taken seriously by uncritical readers. The stupid…it burns.
I just want to remind you that 80.3% of Americans live in metropolitan areas. Hillary Clinton just won a blowout in the second most rural state in America. Sorry, folks — Hillary’s America may be made up exclusively of white people in overalls, but the real America isn’t.
****
My favorite statistic from the CNN exit poll (page 2): 35% of West Virginia voters said Hillary Clinton was not “honest and trustworthy” — but 32% of that 35% (or 11% of the total electorate) voted for her anyway. (”Yeah, but she’s white.”) …
Andrew Sullivan on “Voting For a Half-Breed”:
A reader writes:
In your post "Email In West Virginia", you close with "When people simply refuse to deal with fact, something else is going on." I’ve been thinking about what’s going on for a while. This FT piece set me off . At the end of the article, they quote a young West Virginia man who
"insisted he was not racist", but said "I want someone who is a
full-blooded American as president".At first, I thought this was standard anti-immigrant stuff. Then I had an epiphany.
Remember "Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner"? A rich, highly educated,
well-spoken, widely respected, black doctor freaks out his girlfriend’s
progressive, liberal, elitist, white parents? Yes, that was 1967, but
how far have we really come since then?My own grandmother was a liberal atheist. She campaigned for the Equal
Rights Amendment. She came from a progressive, politically active,
elite liberal farming family in Iowa. She believed in civil rights for
all. She treated Native Americans with respect at a time when they
were still considered dirty Injuns. And she had no problem getting
along with blacks in Seattle before she died. What my grandmother absolutely would not tolerate, however, was
miscegenation.Blacks, Asians, Jews - all of these were perfectly
respectable associates. But marrying one, for a "white person", was
completely unacceptable. The ultimate taboo, really. For older
people, and people who live in areas that have long been predominantly
white, the miscegenation issue is the last bastion of knee-jerk racial
identity. …
Rockefeller–who has endorsed Obama—argued that Obama’s message of economic populism will resonate well in a state that “depends on the federal government a lot.”
Although he stopped short of predicting a victory for Obama in November, Rockefeller said that presumptive Republican nominee Sen. John McCain’s message of small government will turn off West Virginia voters.
“[McCain] should do very, very badly there,” Rockefeller said.
Clinton’s husband, former President Bill Clinton, captured West Virginia in both 1992 and 1996, while Democrats lost the state to George W. Bush in the last two presidential elections.
“West Virginia has gone Republican in the last two cycles because of social issues, not because of economic issues,” said Rockefeller.
Rockefeller also argued that West Virginia’s relative isolation in the Appalachian Mountains, has made his state’s voters wary of outsiders, which has made it hard for Obama to gain traction in a state so familiar with the Clinton family. …
P.S. MSNBC is actually still giving LIVE coverage!

Add any of your own findings. The newspaper blogs were a huge disappointment - weak on content and opinion.
To be expected unfortunately!
Sorry if this is OT, but Susan did you see this from Kefa?

The third part of “Curtain Time For Barack Obama” will be published May 14, 2008.
Is this Obamagate?
It was indeed a CRUSHING victory and MUCH DESERVED!
Obama turned his back on WV and they voted him OUT accordingly!
A huge win for Hillary Clinton!
More discussion below:

Obama didn’t show up in WV because all the money he was spending there (2:1) wasn’t working and he knew he was going to get whooped.
We cannot rely on mainstream media outlets to report the FACTS about this election! We must rely on our own journalistic efforts & that of independent blogs such as NoQuarter, Talkleft, TaylorMarsh & the Hillary Clinton Forum! The voters of West Virginia today gave the MSM and the Obama campaign a massive SLAP in the face - a huge wallop! Obama wanted to SILENCE the people of WV. How shameful.
http://www.hillaryclintonforum.net
I see it is time to get one of those TeeBees that I can use as a monitor for my puter.
Imagine the possibilities…couple o’ keystrokes and POOF! MSM is OFF and your fav PRO blogs are ON.
Brb…off to shop…
Not to be outdone — Obama will now announce next week that he is the nominee after first getting trounced in Kentucky. I doesn’t matter that he doesn’t have enough delegates — he is going to say he’s the winner. McAuliffe said let Obama have balloons anda brass band — he does not have the delegates period. What does that matter — perception is reality in the media.
My local conservative TV guys quipped tonight…….
“Hillary blows him out but Obama wins more delegates.”
LOL*
It’s so nuts.
And I’m going to announce I’m president of CBS!
Poor Andrew Sullivan and his “half-breed” post …
Disgusting!
Andrew Sullivan is not worth reading. His Republican views make him a little to screechy. Why he is being rolled out to opine on Democratic elections is rather beyond me. They point to him and have a problem with Fox. Then they say we are shopping for facts to support our argument … ?????
Projection.
Is it true?
No.
Why argue with a drugged and drunken tool?
Hey since she won every district shouldn’t she get all the delegates.
With Victimology taught and encouraged in the DP, no.
The GOP are Darwinists, they believe who wins gets all the delegates. They play as adults, in a very adult game.
NO they don’t, in some ways, they’re even more pathetic than the democrats.
Don’t glamorize corruption, no matter who it is.
It’s not corruption, anymore than every ill on Earth is caused by “Big Oil”.
Who do you think in the USA is employed by “Big Oil”? Isn’t an Arab, it’s that WV mother who works as a clerk at a gas station that sells it.
It’s those truckers who fills up those stations.
So when you make sweeping statements about some “faceless” meat puppet, remember that mom who’s trying to make ends meet.
It’ll be true corruption when folks don’t consider the wider impact of what they state (much like the alternative fuel “global warming” types didn’t factor food being used as fuel, and it’s worldwide ramifications).
Amazing the differences in perspectives. Thanks for the round-up.
I think WVa probably has represented Dem. wins for a very simple reason. Rural people have a lot of personal support. Their community ties are so deep, their family ties are so rich, that the very idea of really lying or spinning is anathema.
They don’t need that BS.
So, they call it like they see it.
And generally, that represents what people secretly feel and how they vote.
These folks are just a bit more out there on the table, and they couldn’t care less what others think.
Nor should they.
The dumbest comment was by Paul Bagella. Hillary didn’t hurt Obama in WV because she didn’t attack him so therefore he would be as popular as ever in a match up against McCain. Excuse me they hate Obama. They just dumped his ass. He lost by 40% of the vote. If they hate Obama now they are going to hate him more in the GE. Get a grip — I thought you were one of the normal ones. God how I wish we had a real media.
That might have been pure spin. If Obama is handed the nomination, but loses the general…the pundits will blame Clinton. Rational people will know it doesn’t have anything to do with her and everything to do with Obama, but MSM will blame her, anyway.
Agree….These folks are not impressed by elitish punditry….They rely on common sense and mutual indentification….Obama seems foreign to them
Is it possible that the voters are getting P.O.ed over the constant refrain of ‘it’s time for Clinton to quit’?
jwrjr — yes and I guess thats why Obama decided to up the ante by saying he is the Nominee next week. Voters I don’t need no stinkin voters. I am Obama — the world will see my face and change immediately.
He does so at his own peril. It will look foolish and grand standing. If we actually had an unbiased media willing to tell it like it is, he wouldn’t dare.
I double-dog dare him.
I, from a child, accepted every president I ever had. It is the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. I don’t like this guy Bush, but I always (maybe it is my military training - I don’t think so) respected the office. I have also respected people. I don’t know what to say.
What are we going to do to get the Globe Paper mentality out of politics? I try so hard to teach out kids to respect even those you do not trust. We should try to think about how to work on this.
One person, with a web site, letting one person with an option, should not cause us to be angry with all young people there. They are opiated with the concept. They would say that, by me saying that that I am obtuse. Well Ok. How do we start. I am willing to try. I just want to talk about this.
I wrote so fast. I hope you can put the proper letters in place to know what I tried to say.
Obama’s message of economic populism?
Did I miss something?
lost clown — they will do anything to sell Obama. He was Martin Luther King, Bobby and JFK on the same day. In Nevada he compared himself to Moses. All the American people are looking for is a break, a job, the ability to have their share of the American dream — Obama can’t handle that one — he is busy becoming a defacto Republican in order to beat McCain. Its bazaar, with all the problems this nation has to deal with and this lug nut is the best we can do.
I have to wonder if some of those SDs that have come out in the last week or so for BO were possibly testing “the market” to see if their opinion had the power to persuade.
After reading No More Mr Nice Blog, I guess a large section of America is really happy now, the latino’s who will vote McCain if Obama is the nominee!
And anyone listen to good ole Roland tonight saying Arizona is in play this year, what planet is he on?
I am in AZ and with Hillary and the crossover GOP women it migggght be done with prayer hard work and a snowballs chance in this heat
but we did go for Big Dawg the first time around
and many GOP men I know dont care for mccant but dont like Hill either,
HOWEVER, the part the MSM never addresses-the many GOP women who would cross over for Hillary, I know quite a few and when I have my Hillary button on women stop me and tell me they would vote for her in the GE…
but for Roland I atend Rev Meeks Church Martin to even suggest Obama has a chance of winnign AZ against McCain?? LOL!! NO WAY NO HOW IMHO
it is ridiculous to even suggest that Obama could win AZ, b/c there will be no crossover women GOP vote for him here IMO after the way he has campaigned..
his proported new Dem coalition of ultra lib elites, 90% of 12% AA vote and 50% youth wont get him more than Berkley and IL in a GE IMO since the other key ingredient in his NEW DEMS LITE recipe is GOP and INDY support he has lost post Wright..
I agree. She has the cross-over appeal.
And by the GE comes around?
I would guess she’d win over a great many of those men, too.
Him?
Not a chance.
I can attest to this on the calls I’ve made to three states for Hillary. In closed to party WV I spoke to republican women who said they WISHED they could vote for Hillary in this primary and that if she got the nomination they would vote for her in the General. They also confessed to voting for Bush and they didn’t have to be persuaded to complain about him!
btw - 90% the people I spoke to “one on one” while campaigning for Hillary were positive in their comments. From McCain supporters I got “wish you good luck” and “have a good night, nice talking to you” type remarks.
The most negative and destructive remarks came from Obama supporters, some of them made my jaw drop with how vile they were and one guy in WV who supports Obama was clearly a criminal with the brain of a peapod and scared me with his total ignorant remarks. I hung up on him and his filthy spew of venom. His words still echo. They are not fit to print or repeat.
This is something that Hillary supporters know. Why is it that the DNC and the SD’s who support Obama don’t know? They are trying to force him into office and it’s just not going to happen.
This crossover vote of Republican women is the reason I think Hillary could win as an Independent if - if - the Dems insist on stealing this election from us for the King.
There are a few reasons I think it’s important to look at this possibility at this point.
1) Obama is still more likely to be anointed the nominee. This would be disastrous for everyone. I, and so many others, would be disenfranchised unless Hillary were on the ballot. And she could beat both Obama and McCain. Americans are proving they are being mavericks this time, surprising everyone, especially MSM.
2)Our side needs bargaining power. They need to hear us, to fear us, and respect us. There is a good chance they’ll hand nomination to Obama because his supporters will riot, call racism, desert the party. They have said this, they cannot disappoint AA voters, strong Dems.
So they do think it’s okay to disappoint other strong Dems, (women, older, working class), and seem not to care about important swing voters(Latino, blue collar Reagan Dems, women) who’ve elected Repubs because they’ve felt their needs didn’t count with Dems.
So we need LEVERAGE in our battle to make Hillary the nominee.
They take us for granted, fear the other side, not us.
By Hill running as independent we get some leverage.
I know, I know, she wouldn’t want to, etc. But I think it’s possible that if she were drafted by so many who need her, if she thought McCain would win, there’s a possibility.
At any rate, we need to make our voices heard with Dem Party, show we will fight, desert Dem party, vote McCain.
Writing on blogs isn’t enough. Calling and writing DNC helps, but I get the same person each time I call, she probably knows me, can dismiss it. We need to keep up pressure, but need to do more to show we mean business too.
Had to respond to the first item of the post. How utterly sick that ‘the Orange Blog that Shall Not Be Named’ chose to be so inhumane toward Jenna Bush’s wedding. I had been thinking since her wedding that I was happy for her, she seems to have turned out well, and her husband seems nice. She looked lovely.. and what has Jenna Bush ever done to deserve that kind of humiliation from the Orange Satan? Oh.. I get it.. she’s a female.
That’s the type of shit that turns people off of liberals, that dogma before humanity bs. That is the type of mentality that Ayers and his bunch know so well. They have a complete inability to empahtize with anyone, unless it fits into their narrow minds.
I agree, that is so disrespectful to trash her wedding day photos.
While Jenna was on Larry King she spoke about researching the candidates and not automatically being for McCain.
Which I thought was a thoughtful and respectful comment of what all citizens should do.
Why someone would think this would gain support for their cause is beyond me?
Of course, I’ve spent a few hours trying to figure out how HuffPo/Obama expect to gain support for their cause while insulting those they need.
Couldn’t figure that one out either, and non of those Obama people have yet to explain it to me. As Uppity says….’crickets’ is all that I heard there on that campaign strategy.
She’s actually an Obama voter. I’m almost certain of it.
Had her mother married a Dem she’d have been a Dem herself. The mom is just a bit vacuous and pampered by the Bush family.
I don’t view the progressive blogs (or even some of the Hillary supporters here) as remotely “progressive.”
They are partisan.
But not at all turned toward the traditional liberalism that is the foundation of the Democratic Party.
This is mob thinking, at its worst.
It’s a travesty of brain-power, in my opinion.
Watching some sites leap on small stuff and turn it into stories with legs?
Disgusting.
But I see the same going on with Obama, too.
Good grief.
The 10 seconds of “gotcha” power that one gets out of that type of thinking?
So not worth it to me, anyway.
But there are sites that are thriving off of this.
It’s as ugly as any KKK meeting ever thought about being.
And I DO mean that for real.
That type of energy is PRECISELY what fuels the worst type of racism in the South.
Not one bit of difference.
I think a lot of people have no clue how very close they are to being exactly the same as those they purport to despise.
Flip side of the same coin.
Thank you , Ann. I feel exactly the same.
What the mob rule on Daily Kos has become reminds me of the Bush thugs during the 2000 election.
Flip side of same coin, like you said.
Thanks again for your insight.
Exactly Cat.
This kind of uncivil and uncivilized behavior has been going on at both kos and HuffPo long before this primary.
There are some of the stupidest, ranting, lunatics in the blogoshere posting at both places.
Before the election of 2004 they were taking potshots at Republican voters constantly. Calling them stupid and trailer trash and bubbas. See a trend anyone?
If they really are the face and sound of the Democratic Party then I am very glad that I recently became an Independent.
That said, those of us that do have some decency and manners and know how to behave in a civilized manner should wish Jenna and her new husband our congratulations and best wishes.
And we should tell the foul folks that posted such repulsive trash to STFU! God, how I hate those people. They give human beings a bad name.
Ho Hum. Another boring evening. Obama’s days are numbered.
Mr. O’s decision to completely ignore KY and dismiss WV, is the same destructive decision making
qualitiesskillsstupidity we could expect if he was elected president. He puts out this leadership “image” that he has his sh*t together and that he is above the fray because he is THE ONE. He’s trying to ACT “AS IF,” but he neglects to think before he ACTS (or fails to act). It is really a mask to hide his lack of leadership abilities, just as his “hope” and “change” b.s.
Delegates are gonna wake up and smell

You have to post the entire http url as it appears in your url line.
typical white person — you know it and I know it –Hillary knows it and the American people know he’s done. But the media is determined to make Obama the nominee and if the entire country says I don’t like this Obama they are going to call us racists.
It’s kind of like a political Weekend At Bernie’s thing.
Fine, call me a racist! Hillary’s been called so many horrible things but she doesn’t let it stop her or get in her way. I want a President whom I can trust to run this country. Bottom line, I don’t trust him.
Was the turnout unusually high.
I am waiting to hear about that also, because it’s key to interpretation.
Did the negative media dampen the turn-out?
That could also affect Kentucky.
Based on the clips I’ve seen…….no.
This is still quite a horserace. Voters aren’t letting the pundits dictate.
I think that’s a good sign all the way around. Those guys just are all misinforming people and being drama kings and queens half of the time.
I think most real people don’t even bother to watch.
So to them?
This is exciting as heck!
Record early voting. Record voting in some areas. First time independents allowed to vote. She got an AMAZING NUMBER of independent voters!
She’s also getting a record number of Republican WOMEN crossing over to vote for her.
But you won’t hear that on MSNBC, eh?
Hi! I’m new and love NQ. You guys are one of the first sites I check daily. Anyway, I am so proud of HRC I can hardly contain my JOY!!! Has anyone read the Evelyn Pringle articles? I read that there was talk about breaking it down into a time line or summarize the important points. I’m worried that by the time all of this gets out it will be to late.
BabyMia,, Climb aboard , SALUTATIONS.
Todd Beeton’s attempt to cajole Clinton supporters into accepting a joint ticket with Obama as President is in vain. I know I will not accept it. After all, she is the stronger candidate against McCain.
antiobama — I will not accept a ticket with Obama and Hillary because when the chit comes down about Obama and the boys of hate — I don’t want Hillary anywhere near that administration.
I do not want her affiliated with a candidate who many believe shares the views of Reverend Jeremiah Wright, Jr.
He would be the president. No way.
Just remember, neither Obama or Clinton are the nominee until the SD’s cast their votes in Denver, so 3 1/2 months of more digging and exposing of Obama, the thing reporters are suppose to do!
Night folks!
Okay.. regarding West Virgina. Has anyone been thinking what I’m thinking??? If you set aside the Obama win in North Carolina, what exactly has Obama won convincingly since before Texas??? I mean, what state has he won that did not have either a caucus or a large AA population?
They expected him to win Indiana. He didn’t. He expected to win Texas. He didn’t. He lost in PA and Ohio after outspending Hillary 4 to 1. He got humiliate in WV, after outspending Hillary at least 2 to 1.
At what point do the Super Delegates and the media start to put 2 and 2 together???? Obama is steadily doing WORSE as the race goes on… not better. I took NC out of the discussion because there are only a handful of states needed to win in November with that type of demographic.
The truth is he has limited appeal. He is declining in popularity. He cannot win in November against McCain. They want to end this primary before he sinks any further in the polls (which have mysteriousy disappeared.)
Remember when John kerry was foisted upon us by the same people? I knew in my heart that John Edwards had a better chance last time, but was overruled by the same damn Democrats who apparently have a fear of success. Someone should tell Dean & the Elites that doing the same thing over and over and over again and expecting a different result is a sign of insanity…
John Kerry’s poll numbers had tanked and the pundits declared him dead. He made an historic comeback, comparable to nothing I’ve seen anywhere else, and he won Iowa, New Hampshire, and most of the other contests.
If anybody foisted John Kerry on anybody, it was the voters. He was the overwhelming choice of the Democratic primary voters in 2004.
As to whether John Edwards or some other candidate could have done better against Bush, we’ll never know. Had he been the nominee, he might not have made some of the mistakes that Kerry made, but like all contenders he would have made a different set of mistakes.
Kerry was the clear victor in the televised debates against Bush, and he came within a few thousand votes of unseating a wartime president who at that time still had pretty good popularity ratings. Maybe some other candidate would have done better, but my sense is that Kerry, despite his flaws, was the strongest of the field. Of course, there’s no way to know for sure.
But in any case, it wasn’t the “elites” foisting Kerry on us; it was the VOTERS who made that decision.
Wrong, Kerry was foisted on the voters, he had two people help. Edwards sent votes Kerry’s way to get him over the hump in Iowa, along with Gephart.
You can thank Dick Gephart for John Kerry’s candidacy. He was hoping to get political futures or lobby gigs for his associates along for the ride.
Isn’t he an Obamaton now?
Dean and Clark split each other’s votes, and fractured the Edwards support. John sent votes another way(it’s what first timers have to do) along with a certain IL person greasing his wheels for a run next….
The plan for Iowa is to run so many people they dilute the support for any one leader and let the DNC picks the winner in back rooms.
Hate to rain on your parade, Iowa, but I’m glad as hell to see a state that gets overlooked take a piss on it.
Unfortunately, folks seem to have forgotten: Who was Kerry’s VP?
That package deal even failed.
Edwards is in a pickle. Branded White, in a Black block vote state, if he ever wants to get back into politics there, he’ll have to drink the Kool-Aid. It’s why no one here’s a peep from him — that is unless he’s Obama’s VP.
That would be the sucker punch that would make the Hillary Dems explode. Bring down Hillary, and dance on her grave even.
Wouldn’t doubt Obama is that low to make it possible (well, unless Michelle feels Barry likes White men).
Just like I won’t vote for Obama if Hillary is on the ticket, I won’t vote for him if Edwards is.
I am anti- Obama
Period!
That is exactly how I feel mimi. I don’t think any of the “pundits” or the Democratic Leadership (there’s an oxymoron for ya) understand the deep antipathy that women in particular feel towards Obama. And good, decent honest liberal men feel the same outrage at the way that women have been disrespected by the Obama campaign, the Obama surrogates, and especially by the Obama supporters. Decent men are appalled by such sexist behavior.
(Do Obama supporters all hate their mothers, daughters, sisters, girlfriends, wives, grandmothers, since they seem to have a real loathing for older women, and any other women in their lives?)
I agree. What I saw was that the progressive blogs had more influence than they realized. While they THOUGHT they were under the radar, they really weren’t. The mantra…..any woman but her…..and the constant bashing……perculated up.
Yes, the media guys cleaned it up a bit, but they really got the impression that it would be OK because they trusted the progressive blog attitude.
That was a big mistake.
They took their cue from very hostile and very sexist blogs.
Now, the information was there for the smart ones. Early on, it was obvious that Hillary does not engender negative attitudes. Even when her “trust” polling was the worst (post-sniperfire), she was winning states. That tells me, people said, “She’s a politician. What do you expect?” But they voted for her platform and trusted her to deliver. She’s a worker, and it’s obvious.
Anyway, I think, personally, that the progressive blogs have killed Obama.
They birthed him. They killed him.
In psychology they have a term called counter-transference. Barry emits it from his every pore, and thus, projects his own problems with his own mom onto Hillary. He respects her like a “good son”, pushing in the chair for her, and trying to address her like a mom at the dinner table — but he also has the rage of denied love from his mom, and it’s reflected in his choice of a mate, and how he “flip-flops” on his treatment of Hillary.
He displays something of the Goddess/Mother/Whore complex.
Leaders portray how their supporters will present them. Barry presents a Janus portrait of a son still in search for a mom. His subconscience is even on his sleeve.
Kerry was a elitist who ran as a better Bush, as a result he got less of the white working class vote than Gore.
The man had no appeal and no backbone. Hell he made Bush look good.
And you’re right Edward’s is done politically unless he sucks up to Barky and his posse of thugs. But I doubt it after the nasty argument Barky had with Elizabeth Edwards over health care.
I also think Edwards is smart enough to see the hand writing on the wall, Obama has no more appeal than Kerry and much worse baggage.
Obama did not win Texas…The causcuses were a fraud…If he is the nominee he will not even win a single county in the entire state….
** If Clinton is the nominee she actually makes the state competetive for the first time since Reagan….**
Obama might win Dallas, Harris, and Travis counties, but that won’t even begin to put the state in play.
May be someone mentioned it earlier but If you look at the WV official tally page link in the article above Hillary got almost the same number of votes as all the other candidates combined including democrats and Republicans. This woman rules..
Also what does it say about Obama, a presumptive nominee of a party cannot even get 30% of the votes in his own party primary in WV. Wake up superdelegates!!
Guess the Super Delegates from W.Va should go with the popular vote.
Hillary and Sen.James Webb on the same ticket.
Paint the entire Ohio valley and rockies blue. there goes McCain’s chances. Sen. Webb has ten times the credentials for security issues and even Naval service as does McCain.
The man is a gifted leader, more of the ehavy lifting types. Someone who doesn’t have to take the credit for a win, the kind of person who has your cover.
Check your six Republicans. All your voters are belong to ours.
Ohio Valley and Smokies would be Democratic blue with Webb on the ticket, but I think he can deliver the rock ribbed western conservatives of Colorado and Arizona as well.
Sen.Webb would challenge McCain’s own turf.
Stellar Naval career as Reagan’s Sec.of the Navy, and Marine service.
Speaks Truth to Power, the words “Straight Talk” are members of the Sen.Webb fan club, they wanted to be just like Adm.Jim Webb when they were growing up.
He pulls no punches and wins bare knuckled on the GOP’s turf.
Senator Webb made valid analysis of the results invading Iraq would bring, for the record, on a national op-ed piece in 2003.
Sen.Webb has written about increasing disparity between income of the haves(Bushes’ “base”)and the rest of working America.
Sen.Webb resigned as Sec.of the Navy in a dispute over downsizing, a corporate model that would be patterned in private industry for coming years. He could speak to the economic challenges we face for those same reasons.
He’s already made stellar responses to the State of the Union Address at prior times as well. He’s been one of the biggest firewalls against widening the Iraq war with Iran, submitting S.759 to reintroduce Congress’ ability to require any action with Iran be appropriated for according to the Constitution, insurance against brash acts.
Sen.Webb also blocked a recess appointment by Bush by means of Legislative call to order. He respects the framers intent regarding balance of powers.
In looking up most of this info directly from wiki, this polling item emerged:
Wow, 26% would tie him with Obama for West Va. right now.
The biggest baggage on Sen.Webb would be nullified by joining a female Commander on the ticket, along with past endorsements he earned.
My own favorite Gen.Wes Clark isn’t running this time, Sen.Edwards backed out prior, but I do believe that Sen.Webb could deliver what both of these men bring to the political discussion.
Were another leader to have this man’s resume, it’d have been said he was one of the Best and the Brightest, and a Profile in Courage.
This man aspired to the greatest of our dreams, the bravest of our callings, and knows how to arrive at the greatest of our aims.
He did it from the ground up, on the front, and remains loyal to the sense of honesty and of honor, that he admits accountability.
Not the Smokies, since they like God and guns (being a Vietnam vet just doesn’t qualify one to be “hip” with veterans — Murtha learned this well).
Dems don’t seem to understand, they can’t put lipstick on a pig, and expect him to pass as a soldier (like trying to pass Kerry as a war hero, even against a NG pilot).
A poem by a much better poet than anyone alive today penned…
Sen.Webb is a gun rights advocate, ask the Sgt.at Arms and Congressional security.
Did he denouce the Code Pink Voodoo session?
The silence is deafening.
And that deaf silence is what over 50% of the population notices.
Like I keep saying: you can’t put lipstick on a pig to make him a soldier. Talking about “gun rights” and “HE WAS IN VIETNAM AND HAS MEDALS OF VALOR!” doesn’t matter (in Vietnam they threw medals at soldiers as morale boosters — took hell to get the same commendations from Korea on back, in contrast [we're talking walking a mile back with mortal wounds; helping to forestall an invasion over their line; and died trying to save his buds, type of guts. You'll see today, they're trying to award commendations 30/40/50/60 years later to today's standards, even]).
Hillary and Sen.James Webb is a welcome ticket I have thought of often. The Senator is not blinded by rhetoric / spin.
What are his negatives?
He would have none, Hillary would nullify any tailhook burnback.
The Senator has been even more populist than has Sen.Edwards regarding the themes he advanced on addressing the economy.
Read above.
Just like Murtha, no matter how much fruit salad you own, it doesn’t matter when they’ll put party ahead of the troops.
Code Pink, anyone?
In contrast on the other side of the aisle, that radical fundie church that was protesting deaths in Iraq as being due to homosexuality, was universally condemned even by fundie Christians. There’s a line not crossed, no matter the sympathies even.
The military doesn’t see the deeds…
I like that.
Wall Street people and Wall Street Money ….
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB121073227421390697.html?mod=googlenews_wsj
Read it and weep Dems, this is what the “Star of the Democratic Party” is hoping to do…
Are you guys sure this isn’t Barrack Hussein Obama, (R) running for president?
He talked about that in the last debate. Hillary would raise it also, but not nearly as much.
He’s going to try to say it’s to stop all the rotten scoundrels who got rich, but the real fact is that everyone in the middle class who has 401K funds or small nest eggs for retirement will get clobbered. And frankly, right now is an awful time for such a move.
His tax plan is one of the primary reasons I won’t vote for him if he’s the nominee.
It’s a killer, too, on income tax. Hillary’s raise starts at 250,000. His? 100,000. *yikes* to dual income families.
100,000K in CA and MA = subsistence; elsewhere = doing well.
what is that crowd doing running down the street outside? oh, no problem they are just running away from obama as fast as they can.
Trying to explain to the boy trolls all of these weeks where the Obama money was coming from was like teaching my 2 year old niece to potty train. Did they think that the money was a “donation?” It smells like Rezko on a larger scale to me. Can you say, “please don’t investigate us?” any clearer? Business on Wall Street as usual translates to investors getting screwed and lenders still coming out fine (i.e., the government bails them out) while the “little” people lose their homes. Doesn’t look like a “Democrat” to me …
There you guys go again, right down a dead alley.
You can’t put lipstick on a pig, and call it a soldier. Joe Sixpack isn’t going to believe it, as he doesn’t live in Berkeley, or watches anti-war speeches and witches doing voodoo at the very Marine Corps recruitment station that Webb so happens to claim he’s a USMC “supporter”.
Of what? Witches in the USMC now?
You guys just refuse to learn. :shakes head:
Who then?
Okay.. just one more little post before I head off to sleep:
The pundits can bite me!
It ain’t over til WE say it’s over! On to Kentucky!
I saw another ‘democratic’ strategist on TV this morning, decrying the WV win as too little, and he was lying through his teeth, clearly looked uncomfortable with HAVING TO LIE.
Every day, whether it’s Leon Panetta, or this guy Levine, some democratic strategist comes on TV and LIES about the election, for Obama.
Who is paying them, why did they make the decision it was best to lie for obama, THROW the election, as opposed to telling the truth, maintaining credibility?
THEY looked PAINED as they lied for Obama, they KNOW they’re lying, and they despise having to do it. ( Some of the older democrats are better, men I formerly repsected, but now they’re willing to lie for this traitorous POS, most likely due to the DNC. Above all, it’s still our country, it still means SOMETHING to them to protect the integrity of the election process, yet here they are, trying to play hip hop with the K** crowd, git down!. And looking silly. Might as well put on a thong, and dance in the parking lot of your child’s high school.)
WTH?
Buh Bye pundits…
It would appear to me that the voters in WV repudiated the media as much as they did Obama. If they hadn’t, why would there have been a record turnout when the pundidiots were all saying how it was over?
Comment by rjj | 2008-05-14 00:55:16
Was the turnout unusually high.
Comment by AnninCA | 2008-05-14 00:58:41
I am waiting to hear about that also, because it’s key to interpretation.
Did the negative media dampen the turn-out?
I am in WV. No. It (the turnout) was not high. There was a lot a voter suppression, not just by the media, but by Obama phone calls and (never mind). We won here.
Forget it. Just go on and do what you can to get out the vote in the upcoming contests.
How many of you posting here have made a phone call to identify and turn out a vote for Hillary Clinton?
Nothing is over until you let it flip over. The water comes up around your chin and you can die or continue to breath.
Breath
I’m sorry to hear that it wasn’t all that high.
*shoot*
I have made calls regularly, btw. Just what I do. I don’t make a big deal of it. I just do it.
Until the convention? I’m not conceding.
I honestly do think that even the SD’s who have jumped to him can jump back.
I think, personally, people are just NOW getting the sense of how big of a hurdle 90 percent of the AA vote within our party means to any candidate.
You could build the best go-forward broad-based candidacy in the world and be defeated by those numbers.
Now, the question is?
Do we really take that banked AA vote into the GE and think that’s going to be the key?
Alas for the AA voter block, so many of them are in Republican states. That isn’t going to move.
So……
Now what?
Anglachel has an interesting analysis of the WV vote on her website. Something to feel good about–Hillary got between 70 to 79% of the votes that the last three Democratic presidential candidates got in the GE. So, it sounds like to me the voter turnout in the WV primary was excellent with great potential to follow with her as the Democratic candidate. With Obama as the nominee, things don’t look so great (I say happily).
God bless the people of West Virginia. This is real America with real American values.
Turnout in WV was about the same as it was in AR, and Arkansas’s population is larger than that of WV. Turnout was high in WV, and the Clinton campaign should congratulated.
And given the fact that Obama supporters had been calling and telling WV voters NOT to vote, since Obama “already had the nomination wrapped up,”
I’d say Clinton’s win could have been even bigger, and her landslide speaks VOLUMES about Obama’s inadequacies as our candidate.
I called W VA and the people that I talked to were great. They were a class act and made me feel good to talk to them.
I stopped watching msm about 2 months ago. Watching these idiots try and talk down to the american people just annoyed me. I don’t think they have a clue and haven’t had one for years.
I also just changed my party from democrat to decline to state today. I joined the democratic party in 1960 and now the dnc has made me ashamed to be a democrat. None of them have the class or honor to stand up against the sexism of Obama and his supporters.
If you read Donna Brazile’s answer to a young girl who e-mailed and asked her to count the votes of Fla and Mi you will understand my anger.
This is not the democratic party that i believe and I don’t want to be a part of a party that can diss states and people.
A reminder that “Dead White Men” even had a clue…
BTW, this is what boys read in those days. Today, it’s “taught” in college as some course. That’s how dumbed down education has become, with 7th graders in 1911 were reading heavier stuff than Ph.Ds today.
Thanks for posting this poem. I forgot about it already. Kipling was right. I feel so safe thinking that she-bear Hillary will protect me when she’s my president.
Keep that in mind. Payback isn’t kind. Temper the racist rhetoric, or the price can be “heads five-score”, here.
WOOO HOOO!!!!!!!!!!
YESYESYESYESYES!!!!!
Hillary!!!
USA! USA! USA!
If these DUMB heads still want Obama to go for the general–they are all cave people who only hang out with one another–totally disconnected from reality. LOOK at ALL the states Hillary has been winning!! LOOK!
We do NOT like Obama.
He WILL lose in the general.
Was there Operation Chaos against Hillary?
WV has a closed primary. No Republicans could vote.
But a whole slew of pending Reagan-style Dems DID vote!!
Yes the reps were supposed to vote for barky.
Is anyone surprised Hillary trounced a candidate named Barack Hussein Obama? That is how his name is printed at the WV Board of Elections website, and 50% of that state’s DEMOCRATS believe he shares the views of Reverend Jeremiah Wright, Jr. If half of a states DEMOCRATS believe Obama is Jeremiah Wright, just imagine what Republicans must think.
Obama is a general election disaster.
I’m more optimistic. I think most people know he’s not Wright.
What bugs them is what should bug them.
Why stay for 20 years?
He’s not yet answered that.
As they did with William Jefferson Clinton (and IIRC, that is even how the ballot was printed in GA for the GE — we still believe in formalities, ya know?).
Imagine how the ballot would look like in 2008, if Obama is a nominee.
Too bad we don’t have punch cards anymore. Doesn’t give the folks a reason to PUNCH his name down.
He will make McGovern look good.
I don’t know if there is anyone here from West Virginia or Ohio, but did you hear Roland Martin on CNN say that Obama doesn’t Ohio or West Virginia to win the general election? I think it was on the Lou Dobbs show and Lou looked at him like he was crazy and said no Democratic president elected since 1916 ever won the Presidency without carrying the state of West Virginia. What are Roland Martin and Donna Brazilnut smoking? Donna looked like she was going to cry because the political pollster next to her as well as Clinton’s guy Wolfson made a few comments about her boo-boo she didn’t like. Priceless!
Brazil hopes to play spoiler so her guy can run next time. Make no mistake about it. She knew where this was headed.
Since she can’t get Joe Lieberman as VP, her next effort will be to try and put someone with more negatives there.
Brazille*
Brazile.
just helping out.
Ehemmm……I think BRAZEALOT….is more appopriate….no ?
Brazil?
Isn’t that a Terry Gilliam movie?
LOL!!
Isn’t it Brazile?
There will be no “next time” for Obama. They know that. It’s now or never.
Roland is an example of the disease. They think that a nomination is a presidency. They somehow imagine that AAs, radicals and college kids can elect a president. They also fantasize that everybody will fall into line. They actually fantasize that Hillary supporters will just fall at Barky’s feet. They imagine independents love Barky. They imagine republicans love Barky. The only people who love barky are them. They ignore the silent moderate majority. It’s the McGovern formula for death at the polls. Just like the last time with Dukakis. You can see that they are ignoring what America thinks. Last night was a sampling of “We aren’t letting YOU tell us who we want”. SHould they choose to continue this path, the presidential race is already over.
yeah, i was watching this van deipuke(politico) on fox last night. he just threw out the assumption obama has no worries, all the dems will come home. and o’reily didn’t challenge him. of course bill still wants an interview with obama. disgusting!
I’m sorry, Roland Martin said Obama doesn’t NEED Ohio or West Virginia to win the general election. If I was a native of Ohio or West Virginia I would be very incensed at that comment.
He won’t get PA so he better decide he doesn’t need it either. Massachusetts is in the Nobama camp as well.
He still has some states he can win, right?
Can he win anything for sure - besides of course the city of Chicago, which we all know will pull the votes out of their corruption bin for him?
you’re right - Obama’s running out of states. Let’s see, he doesn’t need FL, MI, Ohio, West Virginia, PA….What states does he need?
Kentucky, West Virginia as well since he thinks he doesn’t need to make an effort and get the vote out as a loyal Democrat… instead where is he?
I would take note, if I were in those states as well. Thinking, if he doesn’t want to show up now, why should I support him down the road?
Just how I would view it.
They’re saying he doesn’t need them because they know he can’t have them. It’s all part of the fantasy. If some of these states could revote, Obama would be gone now. They know him better. He fooled them. Bamboozle. Hoodwink. But if this charade continues now, they will get another chance to tell him what they think. In November. You can’t just strut around America saying NYAH NYAH I fooled you, too late for you! and expect that voters won’t exact revenge at the polls.
Absolutely! I think if the news media had not protected him for so long while waging their hate campaign against Hillary, he wouldn’t be in the position that he’s in. If Iowans had known about Rev. Wright, et al before their vote, I’d be willing to make a wager that we wouldn’t have won that one.
I’m here in Ohio. I’m not insulted. I’m motivated. If he doesn’t need my vote, it will certainly make it that much sweeter to withhold it and to see it go against him if/when it comes to that. It will be the first time in my entire Democratic life that I will be happy to see Ohio go red.
I was listening to Michael Medvet (right-wing radio) today because I am so tired of listening to the MSM trashing Hillary. He was being very reasonable and he said it ain’t over till it’s over. He also said that John Kennedy went to the convention without the full number of delegates he needed for the nomination but fought and won the nomination. I didn’t know that but it helped lift me out of my mild depression. Medvet was just talking about how Obama is losing his momentum and the superdelegates really need to pay attention because McCain was going to take it away from the Democrats. I mean the whole time I was listening he was bashing Obama and how the blue-collar voters won’t vote for him and how stupid the DNC is because they’re going to anoint someone that isn’t even qualified to be president. He was actually saying good things about Hillary; about how tough she was. It was heartening. I almost feel like I need to apologize to my fellow travelers here at NQ but I need some sanity sometimes and I’ll take it where I can get it, even if that includes the other side.
Medvet also had an interesting analysis months ago and it’s this: there has only been 5 non-blue or green-eyed presidents in history. Out of the 5, two were nearly impeached (Andrew Johnson and Richard Nixon).
Notice the color of Hillary’s eyes?
Who would’ve thought that Obama will lose to his eye color??
yes - the only silver lining I see in this dem fiasco is that many republicans, pundits and regular folks, have much more respect for Hillary now which can only help her in November.
That won’t last one second when she’s the nominee. They’ll be back on script… it just won’t have the usual impact.
If she could keep her promises, and not bankrupt the country (or hand it to our enemies), a second term in 2012 would be a landslide.
Corporations, and those who benefit from the GOP breaks, would be against her no matter what, but the common man and woman appreciate someone listening to our needs.
Handups, and not handouts is the formula of success.
This is true….For those who are discouraged….READ UP ON THE WACKY HISTORY OF OUR PARTY….ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN…REALLY ANYTHING….
It is sad to see all the pundits mostly the fellow black journalists how much they lair to themselvies, it is painful to watch. Sad, Sad.
Wow, that diary at the orange place is unbelievable. What IS wrong with those people? Jenna Bush is not allowed to be happy or get married? I think there is a really bad sickness at DKos. It’s possibly the meanest, most poisonous site on the internet. I don’t remember it always being that way either. It’s like Obamamania has changed them into angry, bitter nuts.
Obama seems to inspire a terrible rage in his supporters. The fish rots from the head, and I believe Obama must be one cruel and heartless man to have such a large group of despicable people supporting him.
And they want to run the government.
The tykes are all gungho to make the WTO riots look like a paintball excursion. After all, they’ve been educated by Ayers et al that “Dead White Men” are, dead.
Then folks wonder who are the REAL racists?
What can you expect from Marxists? It’s what they do. Personally, I am glad they have their own little corner. America isn’t in that corner. Most Americans don’t even know who they are. If they did, Barky would be toast already. But sooner or later they nutcases show themselves. You will meet some of them at Recreate68, organizing the suckers.
When Julie Nixon got married, she was sure treated better than Jenna. And her father was a really awful President, too. I hated the way Chelsea was treated when Bill Clinton was President. I don’t care how awful Bush, stomping on Bush’s children reflects badly on the Democratic Party.
Reducing whole populations of states to being ignorant and racist because they commonsensically refuse to support Obama reflects badly on the Democratic Party…Donna Brazealot has burned down the Big Tent and erected a small urban crib in it’s place….Where 2/3 of the traditional democratic base is irrelevant and where other minorities like Hispanics are not welcome….And this idiot is a Party official…
In my book, regardless of party, the kids are off limits (unless they do something truly egregious, like selling State secrets and such). They don’t dictate to their parents what they’ll persue, and thus, aren’t responsible for whatever they do.
Those who descend to such squalor show not only their upbringing, it shows they aren’t scrupulous, either (exactly what government doesn’t need).
I’m happy that Jenna has found her beau and tying the knot, as I will be when Chelsea does, too.
I think it is temperament. In ten, twenty years they will all be David Horowitz.
Old Bolshies and Trotskyites >>> Neoconservatives.
More like Alan Dershowitz — an apologist for not only one race/ethnic group, it’s religion, and international polices, too.
Oops, now that’s now being an “anti-semite”.
Don’t folks just love this PCness straight-jacket?
actually they’ll have a beer belly, children who think they are boring, and a mortgage they worry about paying. not everyone can be bill ayers due to dad’s money.
Yeppers.
When the responsibilities of work and family start kicking in, it’s no longer about “playing the field,” as maintaining and PAYING for it.
Never thought about property taxes before, until now, with assuming more of the responsibilities of home ownership. So now everytime the county commission wants to raise taxes, I’m glued to the news and how to combat it (as property taxes can really jump high, if no one is watching — took our own attorney general to intercede on the last tax hike alone, it was even illegal).
Folks are going to get a huge surprise with a government hell bent on “Black Liberation Theology” — they sure love taxing, even if it’s illegal.
Obama’s taxation policy will be a key focus of McCain, and McCain will be successful. That could be the real key to the fall election.
The facts are on the table. Obama’s Illinois positions can be, rightfully, dismissed as the immature stances of a state congressman. Hard to hold him accountable.
However, we do have a record now of what he intends to do tax-wise, and it’s frankly deadly to the middle-class.
Above 100,000 per year? Raise.
Capital gains? Raise to the max.
This will be the turning point for many soft Democrats.
They will not like Wright, bitter, Ayers, the treatment of Hillary……
but the taxation will be the excuse to go Republican again in a year when everyone thought they couldn’t win.
A vote for McCain will be viewed as the least of 2 evils, giving both parties 4 years to regroup.
And obviously, we can see, that the Democratic party has as many deep-seated problems internally as do the Republicans.
So it’s a wash, with average people. We now don’t like either party.
OR….it could be a rare historical moment for a true 3rd party to emerge in those 4 years.
I predict a McCain win……but not a Republican win.
McCain will be a “holding place” president. He’ll be expected to not rock the boat.
Oh, how I wish. A moderate party that’s more interested in doing what’s good for the country, not answering to 1000001 special interests first (and clamoring for their money to keep them in power, to abuse the very folks paying their salary — I don’t think 50+% of the Democratic party is pleased in paying Dean and Donna’s paycheck now anyway).
Let’s hope upon hope that God answers our prayers, for some human salvation to break the gridlock and sheer partisanship.
What is the pop.vote total now.
Looking at the tally page from WV did anyone notice how few votes most of the down ticket races got. I was very surprised.
It’s not a state thats afraid to vote Dem that’s for sure. Makes it more interesting that Hill beats McCain by double digits and barky loses to McCain by double digits.
yup and the special race the dem blue dog was elected. however he ran away from obama as fast as he could. he never ever met the mand. i thought that was funny.
The South likes to be Dems, but when the party left them, they really had no choice but to goto a party that represents their values better — God, Guns, LESS taxes and Country.
Very rich history of being Dems, from the first with Andrew Jackson, and the last two presidents in 30 years.
OT……Susan…..you have got to read Operation Board Games.
http://rezkowatch.blogspot.com/
Evelyn Pringle has written a condensed version of Part 1 to her May 13, 2008, article “Curtain Time for Obama”.
Part 2 is there 2 too…..if you have time read it.
Part 3 is up today sometime. If she is even close this guy is toast.
Nuclear toast.
OMG! Where is the MSM on this?

The third part of “Curtain Time For Barack Obama” will be published May 14, 2008.
Enjoy….at least I did.
Kefa, I think these articles are going to be very important. I have to leave today and won’t be home until Sunday. I cannot wait to get home and read part III.
Just remember, Barky showed up in Missouri yesterday wearing a flag pin. Everything’s going to be just fine now.
…losing what little (if any) respect I had for him.
If he’s the nominee, expect even that (combined with his past statements and actions) to be a big issue… “Obama started wearing a lapel flag the day he was blown out by blue-collar Americans”.
If the election is fixed as big oil and republicans are known to do, it won’t matter.
Period.
If they want Obama in to open up African oil,( he apparently appeals to the African terrorist/ oil crowd, I mean, look at how Auchi is involved in Africa, from Qadaffi, to Nigeria, oil, money “loans” there, too, for Nad), he will be President.
Don’t count on anything.
Obama might win Indiana in November!
I’m pregnant with Elvis’ love child!
Costello?
Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t “Hillary’s Crushing Victory” expected? Are you suggesting that there’s been a REAL change in the dynamics of the race? That Hillary is going to win 91% of all remaining delegates (as is required for her to overtake Obama in elected delegates)? Even Carville is admitting that it’s almost over for Clinton.
What about OR and MT? Is Hillary going to ‘crush’ Obama with those ‘white voters’?
Look, I’m not going to pick and choose which states matter- unlike the Clinton campaign. . . This was a BIG WIN for her, but does nothing to change the race!
What about Washington DC? NO DEMOCRAT has EVER WON the White House without Washington DC! But Obama CRUSHED her 82-16!
And if WV is so important in the primaries, then McCain is REALLY in trouble! He was CRUSHED by both Huckabee and Romney in that state. . .
ahh ned, are you upset today or what!
The DNC Rules Committee and the Super Delegates all need to ask themselves just ONE question:
Do we want to beat Hillary or McCain?
Either Obama or Clinton could EASILY beat McCain. Just look at what happened in MS-01 yesterday! Did you SEE the negative ads they ran against Childers, tying him to Obama and Rev Wright? This is a VERY heavily Republican district which went for Bush in 2004 by over 20 points!!!
McCain WILL NOT be hard to beat in the fall! Obama will CRUSH him- he will win VA, MO, CO, and OH. We haven’t even started bringing McCain’s record to light and tying him to Bush!
Just watch his numbers TANK once Obama can focus exclusively on McCain!
OBAMA WILL BEAT McCAIN IN NOVEMBER ?…..ABSURD….
AB ASINO LANAM = LIKE GETTING WOOL FROM AN ASS…..DREAM ON !
Ah, any republican knows the drill, they have to break through the denial first.
We saw it all YEARS away…
You can only be king for a day, no matter who you are…
Even Korea Kim…
LOL
Obama is a cheater. His number will tank even more.
TV spot Number 1: Clips from Dohrn with burning buildings in the background, sirens blaring, and the FBI asking others to help find her. Ten seconds. On clip of reverend Wright talking about AIDs and the goddamned country. 10 seconds. One clip of Hamas with a bomb blowing in the background and a quote. 10 seconds. In one thirty second commercial, the silent MAJORITY of this party, also known as MODERATES will be asking for absentee ballots just so they can imagine they are getting rid of Obama early. Everything else in their minds will be wiped out.
Second thirty seconds:
Shots of John Mccain post rescue, people who were tortured with him speaking. Last shot: Obama not saluting the flag.
TC spot Number 2: Louis Farrakhan clips saying America owes us the whole country, Hitler was a great guy. Louis calling Obama a savior. 20 seconds.
Michelle Obama calling america mean and telling us she is going to heal our souls. A quick clip of her saying she’s proud for the first time. 20 seconds.
And that’s the GOOD stuff.
TV spot Number 3: Rezko, Auchi, Alsammarae and Kahlidi.
TV spot Number 4: Obama talking to billionaires at a fund raiser thrown by a Pakistani, discussing those bitter hicks in America.
TV spot Number 5: Clip of Obama saying Bamboozle, Hoodwink, and Okie Dokie, and the sardonic laugh that came with it.
TC spot Number 6: Shots of Obama Rallies and split shots of Hitler Youth rallies.
TC spot Number 7: Split screen of Obama and Deval Patrick.
You do not understand the Democratic electorate. They aren’t into angsty youth movements, they are too tired supporting their angsty youths. You understand the fringe who adores Obama. They are not the majority. They weren’t the majority last time or the time before either. Obama will never be president.
I stand by what I said:
Obama will CRUSH McCain in the fall.
You can dream your GOP attack ads, if you wish. . . It’s an illusion that they wouldn’t try the same thing against Clinton!
The ads run so far in HEAVILY Republican districts (of the sort you just described) haven’t worked so well!
And if you think that McCain is immune to questions of patriotism, please visit “vietnamveteransagainstjohnmccain.com”. . . word is that McCain made 32 propaganda films for the Viet Cong. . . if you don’t think the 527s are going to be all over this stuff and the potential for a “Manchurian Candidate” in McCain (even against Obama’s wishes), you don’t understand the current political climate.
Further, if Wright and Farrakhan (?!?!?) can be held against Obama (actually, Farrakhan could be held against Clinton, as well, since Rendell PRAISED him so lavishly!). . . then Rod Parsley, Pat Robertson, Hagee, and Falwell can be used against McCain. . .
You are comparing a gnat to an elephant, ned. Clinton didn’t attend a church that published a magazine that gave Louis an award. Louis isn’t on video calling clinton a savior. Same goes for wright. Rendell isn’t a radical Nation of Islam member, ned. Do you not see how silly that sounds? Oh and “even against obama’s wishes” is even sillier. We both know he loves when his surrogates does his dirt for him. Mccain hasn’t attended Hagee’s church for 20 years, Ned. He also doesn’t have the black panthers posted on his web site. I will give a nice piece of advice to you guys though. Clean up my.barackobama. Some of those diaries are FBI material. But it’s probably too late actually. Screen shots and all…..
Even considering the thought that a man who was tortured for years can be swiftboated for his patriotism is…just plain silly. He’s not john Kerry by a longshot. the man was brutually tortured and the record is amazingly well recorded. Nobody is going to swiftboat him. Those swiftboaters are republican 527 people. Do you really think they are going to swiftboat a POW for barack obama? Really?
Do you really think Obama is going to touch that with a ten foot pole? he’s already saying what a wonderful hero McCain is just to cover his own ass on that one. He said it yesterday in Missouri, in fact.
To even suggest I don’t understand the “current” political climate is laughable. I have been a an active politics junky for years, and not from my couch either, and not just locally either. This is not ding dong school, Ned. Touching McCain’s POW status is political death. I shall look forward to those ads so I can watch Obama tank. By all means, I do hope that happens.
You must remember that YOUR climate is not the climate of the majority of America. The majority of America isn’t exactly comfortable with some of the people Obama hangs out with and they will let him know it.
Oh I see, we have a Left wing swift boater group, I understand now. Good luck with that.
Hmmm. Obama keeps outspending Clinton (even in WV. Clinton keeps winning–this time by 41 points. The media keeps declaring that it is over for Clinton. Clinton keeps winning. They scream the math, the math…the only “math” that will matter in the general is 270. If we are unfortuante enough to have Obama as the democratic nominee he will get trounced by McCain. Wake up DNC, before it is too late.
hey ned, whatever they are paying you is too much.
Obama won early primaries because he was and still is feeding off of rampant Hillary hate which has been encouraged and magnified by the Republican Party and a complaint media for 15 years. He has not ever really put forth any real reasons why he would make a better President than Hillary, he is just not Hillary and a whole lot of Democrats got their chance to attack her. However, as time has gone on more and more Democrats have seen that he is a phony and probably a crook. Their common sense is starting to take over.
When he is running against McCain; War Hero, Moderate, really nice, old man - he willing be facing a whole nother program. Republicans are not going to allow him to attack McCain, like the DNC has allowed his flaming the fires against Clinton. They will hit hard. Republicans are much meaner than Hillary.
And Clinton supporters will not be there to help Obama fight back. We hate him for what he has done to the Clintons.
You left out a few Uppity:
30 second commercials of:
Obama Rezko’s “inside guy in the Illinois senate setting up the Health Facilities Planning Board to extort contributions from companies in exchange for the approval of applications to build medical facilities,”
Obama community organizer of south Chicago slums for 3 yrs, leaving with no change, just higher unemployment and high crime rates. And pictures of freezing tennants while Obama is pocketing money from Rezko!
Obama being begged by the Maytag Union to go speak to the Crown’s to keep their jobs and then pictures of Obama pocketing money from the Crowns and forgetting to ask to keep the jobs!
Empty chair on the Commitee oversight for NATO empty and everyone sitting around, and pictures in the background of soldiers fighting!
Obama’s father waiting for the Kennedy Airlift to bring him to america and Obama’s mother refusing to give birth for 4 yrs, awaiting for Sellma to happen!
Obama writing legislation against Nuclear companies for toxic waste regulations, then given a bundle from Rowe, Chair of Exelon, followed by him lying in speeches saying he had passed the legislation, which he did, into the garbage!
130 clips joined together on contravercial Bills and Obama pressing the “present” button each time, saying opps afterwards!
and the list goes on!
Oh, I forgot about that!
Same can be said of the extremes on the Right, between Goldwater and even Ron Paul.
America just isn’t into radicals, even if they can preach stuff you can agree upon (I agreed alot with Pat Buchanan, but some of the things he advocates won’t be accepted by voters).
In your dreams.
Is this your first election? Because if it is, you haven’t experienced the roller-coaster ride of the GE, where frontrunners can become euthanized horses on the track on election night.
Just ask Al.
Weeeee! Go Hillary!!!
I just wrote to the super delegates in my State who are supporting Obama using this free link:
https://www.lobbydelegates.com/
It really works great and you can do all the delegates in your or any state in one shot. Here is what I told them (and I really mean what I said in the last paragraph.):
I urge you to reconsider your support of Senator Obama for the nominee of our party. If Obama is the nominee and loses in the general, it will be a direct reflection of your judgement.
I will hold you personally responsible because you know Hillary is the more electable and you are doing a disservice to Democrats everywhere by voting against the candidate that has the best chance of winning.
I will do my best to make sure a primary opponent campaigns against you using the argument that you made a bad judgment call. People who make bad judgments like that shouldn’t be serving in Congress.
And finally, you will get Hillary to support and work for Obama because she has worked her whole adult life for the democratic party and she is beyond gracious to you. And that is all the more reason I will vote for McCain, because of your arrogance and the how it will feel to see the strongest candidate, the popular choice of all democrats, and A WOMAN humiliated and brought to heel behind your shallow candidate.
Thanks for the link!
I just lobbied my SDs to switch from Clinton to Obama, since Obama decisively won in my state of MN!
Unlike your letter, I chose to remain respectful and polite. I laid forth my reasons for Sen Obama, but did not criticize Sen. Clinton.
Thanks again for the link!
I’m sure you will have more influence than everyone else ned.
Unlike the posters on this site, I believe we can accomplish more by being respectful and polite even when we disagree.
ned, everything you write is mean and disrespectful. in fact that is an insulting post where you are stupid to assume we don’t see what a hating, pot stiring troll you are. some poster with an honest difference and respectful tone is treated well here. you are not that type of poster and all of us know it.
When did that happen???? Repsectful and polite??? An Obama supporter????
That would make a cow laugh.
Like Mr. Johnson said mimi…”it’s the cheese”
Believe me there is a lot of buyers remorse in MN.
Let me get this straight: you voted for Obama, but are now experiencing ‘buyers remorse’? Why?
I think you may be an exception. . . The polls all have Obama ahead of Clinton not only in MN, but also in places Clinton WON (like in CA, where Obama would win the primary if it were held today).
This site has transformed into a personal attack site against Obama. I prefer to stay focused on the ISSUES and the type of campaign both candidates are running.
I see nothing issue-based on this site, just more rehash of the “Wright, Ayers, flag lapel pin, Nation of Islam, Hammas”, etc, etc “guilt by association” BS. Remember, this is what REPUBLICANS do (and Scaithe, Hannity, Limbaugh did to the Clintons!- all are “Clinton supporters” today!)
Amen, brother Ned. I don’t understand what all the personal attacks on this site are about, other than taking a page out of the Karl Rove/Little Green Footballs playbook.
It’s weird–I thought we all believed in Democratic principles and in trying to end the disastrous Republican reign of recent decades.
don’t use texas in your screen name. you don’t represent texas.
both of you are trolls who don’t know a thing about critical thinking or respectful posting.
THANKYOU STODGHIE….THEY DO NOT REPRESENT TEXAS…
THEY REPRESENT GAZA….
Surely you aren’t surprised. Have you looked at the exit polls in the last 5 races?
Well, first, I used to be a life-long Democrat. Trust me. We are so not “clean.” LOL*
I can name so many campaigns where Dems pulled out the worst of the worst in terms of fear-mongering.
We’re political. Democrats aren’t a “movement.”
Second, this fight isn’t between Hillary and Obama. It’s about a party identification.
That’s why it’s intense.
Hillary is the key. But abandoning the working class?
Oh yeah, that’s key.
Third, Obama is weak. He’s not just weak in terms of his baggage, Wright, et al, he’s weak in terms of experience, his knowledge, and his ability to convince people who require a bit more than a rousing rally. And that’s most of America. We’re not really into turning politicos into spiritual mentors. Most of us have a great spiritual life already, thanks so much.
Finally, Obama lies. His lies are now a national record.
And it has caught up with him. It takes a while.
That’s human nature. We’re generous. Most people let others slip.
But his lies have now caught up.
I predict that Obama is not going to lead Democrats to a win. He will lead Democrats to a big shake-up.
And maybe, that’s OK.
Who would abeit by your request? Hitler II?
I continue to be amazed at the confidence with which the DNC “leaders” say that we will all come together.
If Barack Obama is the nominee I know many people who have no intentions of voting for him, including myself. Not because we are racist, or because we don’t like him, but simply because he isn’t qualified.
DNC doesn’t want to listen to the voters. The same way pundits don’t want to listen to the votes. And look what happened. WV shouted loud and clear.
What else can they say?
It’s been a train-wreck since February.
They are LYING through their teeth, and they know it, supporting apiece of shit because their loyalty to the DNC outweighs their loyalty to the country.
How sad.
See, this is where it takes balls, even minimal courage and wisdom to do the right thing, and they can’t.
Republicans are just as bad, but they had big daddy rove and cheney to protect them.
And given the force exerted on them to vote the way the party head says, it’s no wonder Congress turned into the politburo.
Social factors, and all…
First the Kos comment. Those folks not only have no class they are barely human if you ask me. As much as I despise Bush I empathized with his family’s joy with this wedding. Sometimes it helps to remember that we are all human beings. Apparently the Kos crowd think they are aliens. At a minimum they are freaks.
Right after Hillary’s totally awesome speech last night Kieth Olbermann had the nerve to say that her speech was tied with the Sermon on the Mount as the best speech ever given. He and MSNBC have no class either. Of course no big surprise there.
What amazes me is that Hillary won in every single county in West Virginia. This wasn’t just a huge win, or a complete trouncing, it was a message that should be heard loud and clear.
And if the Democratic establishment doesn’t have the good sense to listen hard, then it will be on them in November and the next four years.
“Politico’s Jim Vandehi Shills for Michele “Camille” Obama”
http://insightanalytical.wordpress.com/
Time for the violins for poor, put-upon Michelle and her hubby…
yup, he also went on to say all the dems would come home in november. by then i was yelling at the tv. what a suckup.
Hmmm……CUE WHITE GUILT…..
BO
Also trying to hold the party hostage
For all the talk of numbers, there’s one that will be most important for superdelegates: 1.5 million. That reflects the 1.5 million names of donors that the Obama campaign has on file. Because no contribution below $200 is publicly reported, the vast majority of those names are in Obama’s exclusive possession, to be shared as he wishes. As Graham Richard, the longtime mayor of Fort Wayne, Ind., explained it to me last week, it’s all about the Benjamins. Local officials (that’s who most superdelegates are) need the tens of thousands of Democratic donors on that list who come from their states. Their re-election depends on successful fund-raising. No Obama at the top of the ticket, no list. No list, and you may be back selling insurance after November.”
http://www.liberalrapture.com/2008/05/its-all-about-benjamins.html
kefa,
WOW!!!!!
Money talks and bullshit walks!
This is why I urge all voters to get the names of the Obama SDs up for re-election and vote the other candidate.
We’ll call it true Election Reform!!! $$$$$
Hmmm…..CUE WHITE GREED…..
The people I talked to in WV do have a degree, and voted for Hillary. WV people are not stupid as the media wants to tell. WV made a statement with their votes. They don’t trust Obama and they feel he is not a leader.
ned,
I respectfully disagree with your comments. I’ve voted straight Democrat for thirty years and am well aware of McCain’s voting record. I won’t be voting for Obama in the fall, and I imagine I represent a lot of other Democrats who feel the same way. It’s possible that Obama may overcome McGovern’s record of a 49 state loss, and try for the gold with a 57 state loss instead.
BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!
Nuclear Option
Operation Board Games
Alot of action….stay tuned.
i made the mistake of looking at americablog last night, where one of the bloggers literally had a huge hissyfit in a long drawn out hateful post. it was really ridiculous, that blog is total shit now.
“In the face of grim poll numbers, the Obama campaign has attempted to dismiss today’s outcome despite the fact that Sen. Obama has outspent us on advertising, has more staff in the state, and more than double the number of offices.”
Get out!! lol You mean to tell me he threw down more cash than us and still got crushed!? lmao
2x as much.
But folks in the hollows have a stronger bond than money: It’s family. When cousins, and their cousins and their cousins-cousins all start talking, “NO”, no amount of gold and trinkets will change their mind.
Real rural country folks are the most stubborn people you’ll ever know. I know one to this day, who still wears a union suit as his underwear — not even changing to BVDs and a t-shirt. He gave up the mule decades ago, but still insists in plowing the old way (his plow has a bike wheel today instead of a mule).
“Change” doesn’t get to them, and they have tons of “Hope” (in church and family, especially). Some outsider preaching the stuff gets a very skeptical reception.
Like California Congresswoman Maxine Waters (Hillary supporter) said (I’m paraphrasing badly, but you get the point) that her constituents have lots of hope, they wake up hopeful every morning…hopeful that they’ll have jobs and a roof over their heads. They don’t need hope, they need solutions.
The press keeps talking about the rural folks being stubborn, there’s plenty of inner city folks who can’t put a plateful of “Hope” and “Change” on the dinner table either. Hillary won the city of Los Angeles for a reason, and it’s not just because we’re all uneducated, poor Latina women, as the Media would like to pigeonhole us.
Did y’all see the Precious in Missouri? I know I’ve posted this before but I could not get over how awful he looked and sounded and how incredibly — openly — snippy and snooty he was with his audience. It was a small group, didn’t look like supporters but more like a town hall meeting, most of the people appeared to be working-class (of course it’s hard to state that with certainty, I am going by their appearance and manner, so take that for what you will)–it was deadly. Even his lovin’ talking heads said he looked uninspired and out of touch.
Same with Dick Morris, for me.
He was just this empty shell, barely holding on to his sanity, one face for the world, another inside.
Mind boggling anyone would trust that Idiot with anything, can’t they see what a MESS he, and the rest of them are.
As if they have ALL been terrorized, horrifically traumatized, PTSD, are running, probably using drugs and alcohol just to get through the day.
My goodness, you shill for the African OJ Simpson, Ondinga, he murders, slaughters innocents, just because he’s a low IQ kook with delusions of grandeur if not the talent, or brains, to back it up, a pawn, really, and you can’t cope with what you see…
What do you think happens?
Dick Morris happens.
Ironically even the heavy obama breather Dick morris said yesterday that if Wright had hit the airwaves earlier, before some of those Bamboozled primary people got to vote, Obama would not be standing today.
So basically we have a man preening and prancing around the country saying I WON I WON I FOOLED YOU ASSHOLES! VICTORY IS MINE! TOO LATE FOR YOU!
That will work well if they cancel novembers elections.
The guy is so out of touch, he needs a “rest.”
I thought I read something about the West Virginia Lunatic Asylum reopening.
Oh, that was for historical purposes, and tourism, only.
It’s supposed to be haunted, our favorite Roto Rooter plumbers from “Ghosthunters” featured it a couple of weeks ago.
I love that show.
Ehemmm…..CUE WHITE FEAR….
Whooo! lmao And, the group behind him looked BORED TO DEATH!! lol That one girl was chewing some Bubble Yum and checking her watch like she had an appointment for a root canal that she’d rather be attending.
ROFL!
Good morning sugar. I love you, girl. Chin up!
They could hardly contain their boredom and they kept trying to suppress yawns. It was the most pathetic display of campaigning I have seen. Hillary should take the tape of that event and do a commercial around it. Talk about inspiration from Obama….NOT!!
And maybe do a Power Point to send to the super delegates!
LOL, LMAO, I couldn’t keep my eyes off the Bubble Gum Girl! And the girl next to her kept looking around the room, the ceiling, anything to keep her mind off the drone emanating from the guy in front of her. You’d think they could have found 10 people they could have paid to at least LOOK enthusiastic.
The numbers of voters shying away from Obama are pretty impressive, and the more people find out the more people are going to shy away.
I think the DNC is counting on Dems voting for Dems and if Obama is the nominee that isn’t going to happen.
They need to take a good long look at the list of information coming out about Obama and realize he would not survive the general election.
My very genuine fear is that is never going to happen. It just doesn’t make any sense.
Are Obama’s people, and Dean, essentially extorting support from other democratic leaders?
That is, the DNC will not give any money, cut off the allowances, and business contracts, so to speak, unless the actor supports Obama, at the cost of Hillary, and the will of the PEOPLE?
Just like Rove did, right?
Chicago style means politburo politics?
Old hat.
LOLOLOLOLOLOL
This is some old stuff, the 46 packard is on it’s way…
Red necked fried by jackson browne
Red, as in “those commie bastards” red…
And god only knows what else will be coming out. Boy, it sure is a long time between now and August isn’t it?
AGREE… And the formula of Cueing Cracker Guilt…( SD ) Gred and Cracker Fear will backfire on Obama….
Man, the statistics are the best ever!!! We can use these until BO gracefully (yeah) steps down.
Remember: Only 2209 delegates is legit!
Senator Clinton has a point in arguing that she has a better chance to beat Senator McCain in the all important swing states that Senator Kerry lost four years ago.
My colleague David Epstein has graphed the numbers for Clinton and Obama and they underline Hillary’s argument.
See, his numbers at
http://www.reflectivepundit.com/reflectivepundit/2008/05/clintons-argume.html
Nice roundup, Susan, but please knock off the Hussein BS. thanks.
That’s his name, and that’s the name that was on the ballot.
Yeah, that’s his name!!! Dammit! What is the big deal!???? He should take his sorry sack to the courthouse and change it if he doesn’t like it. Hell, he’s thrown everything else under the bus, why not his mama given name?
OMG ROFL!
ROFL!
The Chosen One, The One Who’s Name We Cannot Say.
Too weird for me!
LOL! He’s The One (whose name we cannot say).
Like JHVH or YHWH (isn’t that the one whose name you can’t say? Might be two different beings - not sure).
I love Rockefeller’s comments the best. Especially after his constituency told his to get bent in the primary. I think the most overlooked but most important thing about WV’s primary is the fact that they defied him. It was a kind of like “You aren’t telling us what to do any longer”. It was a trouncing of Rockefeller too.
You know, I bet Axelrod knows BO can’t win the presidency at this point. He just wants him to win the nomination, so Axelrod won’t look bad. He could have blamed the voters for the GE loss.
Since BO will be out soon, I think Axelrod is SOL.
yeah, axelrod is already thinking about the next gig and how much he is making on this one.
Obama, who was in Missouri today, said, “This is our chance to build a new majority of Democrats and independents and Republicans who know that four more years of George Bush just won’t do. This is our moment to turn the page on the divisions and distractions that pass for politics in Washington.”
“Just won’t do”? Who the hell writes for this guy? There is definitely no “there” there. Betcha Axelrod wishes he could throw BO under the bus!
Well they never expected all this time to go by. They figured they could wrap this nomination up before people got to know Barry and his friends. As it stands, timing is the only thing that got him THIS far. Axelrod is a media image creator. He’s a media man. It’s Visual stuff. You can’t do that for very long when other stuff is behind the curtain. That’s what went wrong for them. All that is left now for Barry to do is just thumb his nose at the people who voted for him BEFORE they got to know him. A NYAH NYAH kind of thing. But they will get another chance. In November.
It’s kind of like when you date someone. They look perfect to you in the beginning. Then a few months go by and you get to know the person better.
They figured they could wrap this nomination up before people got to know Barry and his friends
What, and then he could become a real man (you know, maturity, judgment, decorum, that kind of thing) before November? How stupid are these people?
I can tell you who’s not stupid. The people of West Virginia!
barry and friends don’t wear well. i bet axelrod would like to throw barfy under the bus this morning.
how much you want to bet that no super delegates go to hillary after her landslide win ? bastards. and if any come out today for that piece of human garbage, i am sending them a an e-mail and let them know how phony it is. hillary has proved her political theory over and over again and still they dog her. how obvious their bias’s really are. instead of admitting that they are wrong about obama, they blindly support his sorry ass. just wrong ! go hillary, the whole country is watching you show them that every vote can and must count.
Let’s work on them, quarterhorse (cool name, BTW) and everybody! Here’s the link:
http://tinyurl.com/2xbvgn
Every letter and phone call counts! I really think the superD’s value our opinion a lot. They’re not jumping on the BO bandwagon right now - let’s make sure they don’t!
Hillary got a super from tennessee this morning!
Howard Dean said he would not accept any math that did not include Florida and Michigan?????? (Just saw the video.) I mean, you know, what can I say but
YYYEEEAAAHHH!!!!!
(My version of the “Dean Scream
Now I gotta go back and see what Brazile Nut said in response. I can only imagine…(”Up is down, and right is wrong, and good is bad.”)
Well, it’s time to stop leaving them out then. HOWARD!!!
I think the Daily KOS action of being that crude to Jenna Bush, confirms my belief that KOS and Arianna are Manchurian progressive Bloggers. They were and are plants from the right. I think they moved into the liberal atmosphere to gain street cred. They bashed Bush and the right. We thought they had seen the light. We wanted to believe. Just like Olberman, Ed Shultz, and others. And then, in a heart beat, the right card was TURNED OVER AND THEY BECAME a whole new entity. How clever was that tactic from ? Rove? Who know? But I don’t believe in coincidences like this anymore. It is a conspiracy to have odd people, formerly of the right, gain credibility by the left/ Democrats and then, they are instantly changed and on the same page…the true agenda is revealed. We take out Hillary and Edwards and we pretend Obama is the “most liberal Senator in the Senate” (LIE, LIE, and a mega LIE). And now they feel that Obama is slipping so dramatically that they have such desparation in their voices as to be funny if not that it is so serious. Kos now has to act insane so the Republicans can gain back some of their stature. KOS becomes even more obnoxious and unhinged, but in a different way. Just what was the purpose of doing that on the day Hillary cleaned Obama’s clock.
I am sick and tired of everyone saying Hillary should NOT run any “negative” ads as it will hurt obamas candidacy… DUHHH!! They aren;t negative! The people have a RIGHT and responsibility to KNOW WHO he associates with and HOW this clown thinks! The mindless idiots think we are just supposed to stick our heads in the sand??!! Remember folks - Its ALL about putting wafflehead and bitterpuss in the White House! It ain’t about the people, America, or removing the GOP from power!!! ….It’s beyond my comprehension!!!
No, she needs to focus on what she’s offering, not on the negatives.
The negatives are taking care of themselves.
The mistakes I saw Hillary make early on were to pound the obvious rather than trust people to get it. That only resulted in the narrative becoming about her.
Obama has done one thing right. He always lets his surrogates speak the nasty stuff. He got called on it only once…..from George on the ABC debate. George dismissed his excuse promptly and without ado.
He’s run a highly negative campaign, attacking her character since he lost Texas. But Hillary has not been able to undo the narrative that she’s the negative campaigner.
Thanks to Penn, in my opinion.
She’s got a break now from the media, because they don’t think it matters. Let her leverage that breathing room.
And let the voters speak FOR her.
Her speech last night was crystal clear what the argument is and will be. Couldn’t get more direct than that speech.
I personally think she’s dead-right, but Obama is going to continue to assert that he’ll win over her voters.
What’s becoming harder for him are the mounting exit polls that got ignored for a long time. Now, they are glaring. The polls have reached that tipping point.
When Hillary can beat him on trust questions? Then you know that the presumptive nominee is in deep trouble.
well he is a former republican. depending on how you present this, it could be a positive with the independents.
Former Republican???? I am suggesting that the word “former” is incorrect. I think these bloggers were Republicans and are still Republicans. They were paid to be turncoats for a while and then do the bidding of their masters. Take down Hillary, build up Obama and I am not sure just which way they will go should Obama get the nomination. Will they turn on Obama or will they continue to be Obamaloons because Obama is “The One” the GOP really want. That Obama is the GOP candidate! That is my opinion. I am more fearful that Obama will win, than he will lose in the fall.
Republicans, though, really have a hard time understanding they can be counter gamed, and I find that simply amazing, very simple minded.
The same as not thinking oil might be setting them up, for Obama TO win, so they can make better inroads into African energy.
And you can use this against them, because they can’t counter, it never occurring to them it could even happen, as, in their lil heads, no one is SMART enough to defeat them.
Except, of course, Iraq, the rest of the world, and big oil.
Loyalty among traitors? hehehehehehehe
So, their reality is selective, a product of their precious, specious narcissism.
Cheaters don’t make good warriors.
Well, when a Rockerfeller speaks, I worry.
My favorite quote of the coverage:
John King: “She has won by a huge margin, but is it enough? I don’t think so.”
Hey John King? Who give a flying tortilla what you think?
Just saying.
Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton 08 !!!!!!!!!!!!
competetive bidding
