The Shrieking of Obamatons

Wow. Why is it that women get the rap for being a bunch of hysterical whiners, when guys like Senator Obama and his staff are the ones going all wobbly? I’m referring to the latest effort of the Obama crowd to manufacture an incident out of Senator Clinton’s comment that she is staying in the race because we know from history that the reality in June is not the reality in August. Senator Clinton noted in passing the historic fact that Bobby Kennedy was shot and killed in California in June of 1968 and that changed what happened at the convention. She also commented that her husband had not wrapped up the nomination until June.

So the Obama crowd is wetting itself and wailing that Clinton is implying Obama should be shot. Jesus, Joseph, and Mary! So if Hillary makes reference to the bombing of Hiroshima in August of 1945 does that mean she wants to nuke the convention? The weaklings and cowards that surround Obama never cease to amaze me. They flail at the littlest imagined slight and throw a conniption because Hillary has the audacity to mention a historic fact. Anyone who suggests that Hillary is trying to suggest or encourage the notion that Obama be shot is a sick sociopath. She has lived with the burden of Secret Service detail and knows all to well the threat political candidates face. And, most importantly, she is not the kind of person to wish harm for other people.

And for the Obama naiton who want this contest to end now–Well too damn bad. Obama is not the nominee, nor is Hillary, until the delegates meet in Denver and actually cast votes. Given the lack of vetting about Obama’s past I think it is wise that the Democrats leave themselves some room before making up their minds. This much is certain–neither Barack nor Hillary have won enough votes in elections and caucuses to be nominated. The outcome now depends on Super Delegates. And Super Delegates ought to make their decision on who gives the Democrats the best chance to win against McCain. If you think things are set in stone and nothing will change before the convention, then you live in a fantasy world. Would somebody get the Obama crybabies a hankie?

SusanUnPC here — Andy just sent me the video — it is SO clear that Hillary meant nothing in her remarks except that she was pointing out that that historic race was ONGOING in the month of June:

Oh God, Larry. Thank you! I’ve just been sitting here laughing till I cried. The funniest line I’ve read all day.

“So if Hillary makes reference to the bombing of Hiroshima in August of 1945 does that mean she wants to nuke the convention? “

Comment by Lute | 2008-05-23 17:54:03

I hope they keep hammering her on it. Because the unbiased viewer will watch and see that what she says makes PERFECT SENSE.

WHY THE FUCK HAS THE MEDIA BEEN TRYING TO GET HER TO QUIT SINCE THE SECOND THE PRIMARY STARTED???

Because wealthy republicans will kill off any candidate who looks competent.
And the gullible elite fell for the bait.

agreed!! best laugh of my day, thanks Larry!!

ROTFLMAO

Equally delightful - the State Dem Party of FLA is now suing the national DNC!

Comment by **== President & Commander-in-Chief Hillary Clinton **== | 2008-05-23 19:23:34

That forces the rules committee to seat all the delegates unless they want the suit to tie up the whole nomination.

everybody do the happy dance! Happy happy, Joy joy! This puts a big smile on my face for the long weekend honoring our vets, I love the delicious ‘justness’ of it all..

That is hardly a funny remark…but typical Larry I guess.
And knock off blaming Obama for the media’s taking Hillary’s comment and spinning it negatively! Axelrod made one comment and said he knew it was not meant in a sinister way-she mis-spoke.
This is so typical of Hillary’s supporters - NOW its HER turn to be misconstrued - she apologized and its over. You are just showing how lacking you are in any subject to attack Obama with.

And, the fact is, she has talked about people asking her to get out of the race and used exactly the same Bobby Kennedy-assassinated-june reference TWO times prior to today. Today she uses the excuse that she has been thinking of the Kennedy’s a lot lately. What about the other two times???

Comment by Shainzona | 2008-05-23 18:16:19

marianna - at least Hillary steps up to the plate - unlike Barky who blames everything on everyone else - usually one of his aides….and Hillary.

And Larry’s comment was hysterical. You obviously never laugh.

You’re sad. So sad.

Comment by Nellie | 2008-05-23 18:37:19

Marianna,

AS a result of being a mental midget you would not be aware of this.

Many here in New England have been thinking of the Kennedy’s for the last few days - because Ted Kennedy was diagnosed with a malignant, cancerous brain tumor. The local radio stations, including NPR, have been having shows, where people call in and tell their personal “Kennedy” stories.

As my family was a “Kennnedy” family I have many good stories to tell about them. However, I chose not to.

But a chance meeting happened today. My aunt in Mass. wanted to go to a bookstore today. So I took her to a Border’s Store near her house. We ran into Tom O’Neil, TIP O’Neil’s son. We sat for awhile, and Tom shared his story about Ted getting a Doctor who practiced at Brigham Woman’s to take charge of his fathers cancer treatment.

The Clinton’s also have many personal “Kennedy” stories.

And I’ll make my prediction - Ted will most likely not accept major treatment - so it is a time of rememberance here in New England.

The Clintonns vactioned for many years on Martha’s vineyard - just offshore from the Kennedy’s.

So take you arsine attitude and shove where the sun does not shine.

Why do KNOW NOTHINGS like you feel you can spew venom indicriminatey without anything resembling facts?

We all complain about the American so called media, and I am starting to realize it perfectly mirrors the mental shallowness the ObamaZoids exhibit daily!

Comment by marianna | 2008-05-24 01:55:35

What is this all about? I have no idea why you are lecturing me about this - I simply said that Hillary has made the comment about the primaries and decision going until June and the Kennedy assassination in June more than once. And today she said she made the comparison as she has been thinking of the Kennedy’s lately, as we all have, I’m sure. So my question is, why did she made the same comparison before as Edward Kennedy’s illness was not an issue then so she was probably not just ‘thinking about the Kennedy family’ at that time.
I certainly was not disparaging the Kennedy family at all - I was at the Ambassador Hotel when Bobby was shot (was working for the McCarthy campaign at that time)and that event is particularly painful for me. As I said, at best, Senator Clinton was insensitive in her remarks and many people (not myself) did take her remarks differently and were offended. And it was not Obama-he has not said a word about this.

Comment by Nag | 2008-05-24 07:54:14

Oh, marianna, I’m not as polite… why don’t you and your haughty attitude just fuck off?

Comment by T | 2008-05-24 12:13:01

Mental midget?

Really?

His comment just isn’t funny. It really made you laugh? Well, that’s precious.

Look, she said something dumb. Now she has to take her lumps. And she’ll be out long before the convention. Sorry.

Comment by catriley | 2008-05-23 18:38:57

No.. the Obama campaign immediately POUNCED on the comment, just as they did her innocent LBJ comment. Stop peddling your lies here. It doesn’t pass the smell test. Obama’s campaign jumped into it immediately — do your homework.

If the best you can do with your candidate is hope to be able to twist things out of context to score points, then you have a pretty pisspoor candidate, and I feel sorry for you. Guess he can’t win on his own merits.. whatever they might be.

Comment by Seymour Glass | 2008-05-23 21:05:55

these punks. I just emailed Jonathon Singer at myDD and told him I was gonna find him and bust him in the mouth at the convention for what he wrote about this tonight. (and you can be sure I will - I believe in honor punch outs and ill do the night in the lock up!)

These obamascum are so beyond the pale - Id vote for frigging Reagan or Nixon before Id vote for these jerks.

And Ive voted straight yellow dog dem in every election -every 2 years - since 1980.

McCain ? Hell theres no question!

Theyre just terrified because they know we will be winning the MI and FL delegates and/or heading to denver to fight it out - and between now and then SOME Obama slime story will hit…

Comment by tzada | 2008-05-24 05:00:40

Not the first time this subject has been brought up. KROFT: This is a tough question to ask, but a number of years ago, Colin Powell was thinking about running for president, and his wife, Alma, really did not want him to run.
MICHELLE OBAMA: Mm-hmm.
KROFT: She was worried about some crazy person with a gun.
MICHELLE OBAMA: Mm-hmm.
KROFT: Is that something that you think about?
MICHELLE OBAMA: I don’t lose sleep over it, because the realities are that, you know, as a black man, you know, Barack can get shot going to the gas station, you know. So, you know, you can’t — you know, you can’t make decisions based on fear and the possibility of what might happen. We just weren’t raised that way.

Comment by churl | 2008-05-23 18:55:14

Historically, then LBJ had nothing to do with passing civil rights legislation, either. We’ve been down this tiresome road many times. To quote an oft-quoted cliche– you are entitled to your own opinion, but not your own facts, which seem to have a Clinton bias.

Comment by jackyt | 2008-05-23 19:05:28

Now that is a demonstrable lie! Do you want the short list; the comprehensive list; or the exhaustive list?

I am still scratching my head as to why she apologized for cripes sake. I heard the complete interview on the video before all this foolishness broke. It was in the context of the story she was telling about the primaries in the past that went until June. All you Obama people, give it a rest…as someone else said, Obama has compared himself in the past has to slain individuals. This is a lot of BS about nothing….Obama needs to get back to work and try to bamboozle the people for the November elections…and oh! ya……Hillary isn’t going anywhere…”get use to it”

Comment by **== President & Commander-in-Chief Hillary Clinton **== | 2008-05-23 19:46:50

I am still scratching my head as to why she apologized for cripes sake.

Its a matter of picking battles. Easier to apologize and get back to campaigning hard. I don’t fault her for anything.

Comment by karen for Clinton | 2008-05-23 21:12:50

A friend of mine who also supports Hillary is upset everytime Hillary apologizes. She always says something “WHY did she apologize again, HE wouldn’t apologize for anything so it makes her look like she is the one making all the mistakes.” I see her point but disagree. The proper thing to do is to smooth over errors you make or things you say that might be offensive to some or used against you even if not really ammo.

That ob uses “gotcha” is crass.

That hillary apologizes is class.

She is presidential and diplomatic but most of all she is secure in who she is.

He is just arrogant and is afraid he will look even more weak than he is.

Comment by salliort | 2008-05-24 01:30:32

He can’t possibly look weaker than he is! That is until you let the air out of the obamaballoon. ;)

Comment by Andy | 2008-05-23 19:56:34

I have no clue either why she did. One possibility is to get pre-empt the media stupidity.
Or it could be in deference to Kennedy family given Ted’s prognosis is bad.

Comment by Kathy | 2008-05-24 10:09:20

Everyone knows the anniversary of Bobby’ death is in June. That is only two weeks away. I think of the Kennedy’s often. They are part of most democrats lives, especially us older dems. I saw nothing wrong in her remark. For one thing it was a truth and a way to remember Bobby. I often think of that June night. And we are in the middle of a campaign.

I wonder what our world would have been like if he had not been assassinated.
I know he would have been the president.

Comment by concerned... | 2008-05-24 01:44:32

You have got to be kidding me. I cannot believe that anyone would still support her, after lies upon lies and now this comment. It wasn’t accidental. There are many, many examples of primaries going into June without having to reference an assassination. I can’t believe that anyone would defend that statement. It is reprehensible…just like the other comments she has made about “white” working class, etc. Well, I’m white working class and also a woman who the media says should be supporting Senator Clinton. But, there is no way that I could support someone who would stop at nothing for the power of the presidency. There is nothing she wouldn’t do and that is sickening.

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-05-24 10:29:48

I’d say you’re paranoid.

God - you people are nuts!

You say she is misconstrued and then you attack her for saying it. A rather convoluted argument. But typical of Obamabots.

Comment by JM | 2008-05-23 22:03:37

If Robert Kennedy Jr. understands what Hillary Clinton was saying then why is it so difficult for Obama supporters to understand? Ya’all are a bunch of whiney babies.

Oh, by the way. When can we start discussing all of the “REAL” death threats, as opposed to this manufactured BS, that have been directed against Hillary and her supporters?

Many Obama supporters are not just idiotic, but they are also very evil.

Comment by Steel | 2008-05-23 22:40:13

There wasn’t anything wrong with what she said…

Comment by LOU | 2008-05-24 05:58:58

There wasn’t a mean intention in that statement what-so-ever. I was surprised when I listened to it. I thought maybe there was a tone of voice or something to make everyone so upset. But when I actually listened to it, she innocently was trying to describe the convention process time line. In doing so, she mentioned Bobby Kennedy. I took it as her explaining why he didn’t get to the convention floor…because he was shot and killed. It was just a fact check. Nothing more was intended. Knowing and watching Hillary for a long time now, I know she is comepletely innocent of these charges against her.
The griping is all about the distraction strategy to throw Hillary off of her game. Hillary is winning landslides and people are speaking loud and clear that they want Hillary. Funny though. She looked upset about Teddy being ill. Hillary is very sensitive. She has a big heart and loves deeply.
Even though Teddy endorsed Obama over her, she still looked concerned and worried about him.
I don’t see that I can say the same about Obama.
He is Obvlivous (with a capital O) to Teddy’s plight. Obama is such a poser.
Move along now. Puerto Rico will pull through for Senator Clinton. You can bet on that. And she will take ALL the delegates!!!

Comment by salliort | 2008-05-24 01:25:21

I would venture to say she was probably thinking of at least one Kennedy those two times as well. :)

Comment by MJ Castleberry | 2008-05-24 01:57:50

are you drunk?

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-05-24 10:28:53

Interesting, so I was right about how the Kennedy family has been on her mind. I thought so.

Her KY speech revealed emotions not related to the win.

You know, the Kennedys, Bush, Clinton……all the big political families duke it out politically, but they share a very common experience. They are very bonded, actually.

I’m sure she was being honest about why that popped into her head.

BTW, I agree about the rest. Obama didn’t jump on this one. Didn’t have to.

It was startling and got attention. You can tell the real quality of each news outlet by how they handled it.

Man, the NY Times has tanked.

Too bad. Such a fabulous history.

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-05-24 10:32:19

What I don’t get is why you think she should change history. LOL*

Same thing with the MLK/LBJ deal. She was speaking historically and correctly.

What’s up with Obama supporters demanding that history be changed to suit their candidate?

That is pretty nuts.

You people have a weird sense of humor. Think Hillary is laughing tonight?

Comment by MessyMarcy | 2008-05-23 21:16:19

Yes. She has a great sense of humor, and there is nothing funnier than a bunch of desperate Obamabutts in full bamboozle mode.

Comment by T | 2008-05-24 12:26:22

Desperate? The nomination is all but locked up. What little the door has been ajar, Hillary’s kicking it shut with her dumb comments.

Baghdad Bob would love you people tonight.

Comment by LOU | 2008-05-24 06:05:58

No she’s not laughing at all. She was blind-sided and hurt by that accusation that she wishes him harm. She meant no harm and did not misspeak. She was fact checking. She would never say underhanded devious things. She is a fact motivated person. Get over it.

I’m a white woman from Texas and I am ashamed of Hillary Rodham Clinton. She has trashed every bit of historical admiration she might have received.

Comment by LOU | 2008-05-24 06:12:30

You are scared, so you are petty.
Senator Clinton has more admirers than you cold ever comprehend. Losing you is no loss. You simply are blind to her true greatness. Narrowmindedness is your strong point. Now run along and go tell someone who cares.

WTF ??? Someone actually took offense becasue she metions RFK today when talking about primary campaigns going in to June? That is as bad, or worse than saying Hillary slighted MLK with her LBJ remark. Have we become that PC that we can’t even hold ANY kind of discussion and state facts? Obama can give Hillary the finger and get away with it. But mention RFK. Geez. And some claim women are emotional and overly senstive. Give me a break!!!!!!

Comment by Ulahane | 2008-05-23 17:01:18

How else can they win? Facts are Obama’s enemy. He wants the election based entirely on his charisma and the one anti-war speech he made (unless things start going really well in Iraq, then it will be a distraction to mention that speech.)

Comment by alibe4-Hillary | 2008-05-23 17:10:06

Since this anti war speech was never taped, do we know for certain it actually happened the way they said. Maybe he gave another speech a week later and said just the opposite and since it was never taped he could use either, depending on the outcome of the war and prevailing sentiments. He could always use whichever speech he needed.

Comment by MessyMarcy | 2008-05-23 21:24:01

Even if happened exactly the way they say, the speech was superseded by his later remarks that his position on Iraq was pretty much the same as Bush’s. And I do believe that he has consistently voted in support of the war, not “present” as he does on reproductive rights issues.

What does this make Obama? All together now — a FLIP-FLOPPER!

Comment by so saddened | 2008-05-24 00:31:50

didn’t obaby recently “re”create the alleged speech? so now it says whatever he says he said back then. probably without the umms, ahhhs, uuuhhhhhhhhs.

somehow i think we know that he would’ve “re”created it differently if the war were currently popular. or would have “never” given such a speech.

guess you didn’t get the obabymemo about everything he ever did was right or he never did it. so the other version that he would’ve/could’ve taped later is part of the he never did it portion of his life.

there seems to be a lot of “never did it” stuff for huge portions of his life, as the blanks are plentiful - guess the scrubbing has worked so far. wonder what there is to know???

So RFK was assassinated. Ergo, she is suggesting that someone assassinate BOzo.

Dooh!

Sigh.

Comment by Cindy | 2008-05-23 18:27:23

I thought she was making the point that RFK was STILL in the race in June, as well as Bill being STILL in the race in June. Obama’s whiney little ass never ocurred to me. Jeeze, the world DOES revolve around him, doesn’t it?!

Comment by Ash McGonigal | 2008-05-23 19:54:59

Apart from being an out and out lie (Bill had the nomination wrapped up in March) and historically inaccurate (June on 1968’s political calendar is more equivalent to this year’s March), it is an unforgivable reference to make. She’s out of compelling reasons to stay in this race, so now she’s in it just in case Obama gets assassinated like RFK?

Either you people are willfully ignorant (which explains much of this blog) or just sick (which does as well). If Hillary succeeds in her apparently pathological pursuit of an office she seems to think is owed to her, I will be forced to not only leave the party but also actively support any non-Republican who challenges her for any office.

Comment by Michaela22 | 2008-05-23 20:29:01

New Hampshire, first in nation, wasn’t until March 12. Kennedy didn’t even get into running until March 16. By June 4, 1968, date of California primary, there had only been 13 primaries… Kennedy was killed on June 5…

Oh, you’ve decided that March and June are the same calendar months. More illogical crap from an Obamabot. It just spews from you like a steady stream of garbage.

And, quite frankly, who gives a shit if you leave the Dem party?

You obviously know nothing about history. In the year that RFK was running (1968) the primaries began in March so June was like August would be this year. You really need to brush up on political history before you spout BS.

Concerned,
As you may have already guessed, people on this blog are arrogant and ignorant.
And quite vulgar.

I check in occasionally to look for some sign of life, but most rational people don’t post here anymore.

Oh Ashley!

Scarlett: Rhett, don’t. I shall faint.
Rhett Butler: I want you to faint. This is what you were meant for. None of the fools you’ve ever know have kissed you like this, have they? Your Charles, or your Frank, or your stupid Ashley.

These Marxist carpet baggers are ‘Gone with the Wind’

Bravo, Ash! It’s unfortunate that people can’t see beyond their support of a candidate to see truth. If Senator Obama had said something like this in relation to Senator Clinton I would be appalled. It has nothing to do with who I support. You guys are so blinded in your support of her. I don’t understand it.

Obama apparently thinks he is always on everyone’s minds. But then why wouldn’t he be? After all, he is The One. Look at how quickly he jumped on Bush’s appeasement comment before the Knesset. Of course that just had to be about HIM. Hillary’s reference to RFK just has to be about HIM. Everything is about him.

He needs to get over himself. His adoring masses have made him even more arrogant than he already was. If such a thing is possible.

Even the Goalposts are his.

I suppose if GW tooka shot from the the Knesset and BO reacted like a guilty party then perhaps he is talking to Iranian, Hamas and Hezbollah. The NSA could release a transcrpit oops…Karl? What are you doing with that?

They are so afraid of being swiftboated, that they are trying to head it off by trying to look tough. Methinks they are overcompensating and it will backfire.

HARP, they are going to be swiftboated. Period. I hate to admit it, but I would actually enjoy watching Obama in the fetal position by October.

overcompensating! I bet that’s why he rides in a big SUV despite making green arguments.

Comment by hope | 2008-05-23 19:12:02

Not just arguments, he tells the American people what to do, while not applying those rules to himself.

Just the right tone Larry, thank you for your maturity. The shrieking of “she must drop out” is so unbearable and tiresome.
