Bill Clinton Fights the Good Fight
By SusanUnPC on May 26, 2008 at 5:06 PM in Current Affairs
(Thanks to V for the video!)
Since I signed up for the Clinton campaign press releases, I get the daily print-out of Bill Clinton’s schedule of appearances. It is astonishing the pace this man is keeping up — if that isn’t LOVE and COMMITMENT, I don’t know what is. (Which makes all the rebuking of Hillary for sticking with Bill in their marriage so silly to me — because marriage is about far more than sex. These two people, for decades now, have deeply respected and fought for each other, through thick and thin, and that is to be greatly admired.)
Here’s a bit more on Bill’s comments, via CNN:
Bill Clinton: ‘Cover up’ hiding Hillary Clinton’s chances
Former President Bill Clinton said that Democrats were more likely to lose in November if Hillary Clinton is not the nominee, and suggested some were trying to “push and pressure and bully” superdelegates to make up their minds prematurely.
Bill Clinton did not explain who he was accusing of “covering up” Sen. Clinton’s chances.
“I can’t believe it. It is just frantic the way they are trying to push and pressure and bully all these superdelegates to come out,” Clinton said at a South Dakota campaign stop Sunday, in remarks first reported by ABC News.
Clinton also suggested some were trying to “cover up” Sen. Clinton’s chances of winning in key states that Democrats will have to win in the general election.
” ‘Oh, this is so terrible: The people they want her. Oh, this is so terrible: She is winning the general election, and he is not. Oh my goodness, we have to cover this up.’ “
Clinton did not expound on who he was accusing. ….
The former president added that his wife had not been given the respect she deserved as a legitimate presidential candidate.
“She is winning the general election today and he is not, according to all the evidence,” Clinton said. “And I have never seen anything like it. I have never seen a candidate treated so disrespectfully just for running.”
“Her only position was, ‘Look, if I lose I’ll be a good team player. We will all try to win, but let’s let everybody vote, and count every vote,’ ” he said.
The former president suggested that if the New York senator ended the primary season with an edge in the popular vote, it would be a significant development.
“If you vote for her and she does well in Montana and she does well in Puerto Rico, when this is over she will be ahead in the popular vote,” Clinton said. …
I LOVE YOU, Bill. I love you for fighting for Hillary, not because she is your wife and your devoted partner in life, but because you know — better than even us, her most ardent supporters — what a superb president she will make.
We are as puzzled, befuddled, and shocked as you by the efforts to quash her candidacy.

Clinton, it is time to form a new party. Lets get rid of the democratic party.
Amen! They do NOT deserve Hillary, Bill or us.
I’m with what and how anything gets off the ground that is built around the kind of being a Democrat/democrat that the Clintons represent.
I certainly never bothered to really expend any energy truly believing in the Democratic party until Bill Clinton came along and I will follow them anywhere they want to go. And this is due to the fact that I truly believe that the schasm between what kind of truly honorable people they are and the rest of the bunch of folks who can be bought is enormous.
BTW, I always blamed Monica. After all, I was that age once and I remember what kind of power that can wield… even without the pizza.
No shit. They’re all wusses anyway. One double term since the second world war? Migod talk about losers. And who’s the only one to win a double term?
No, frankly, I think Bill and all the rest of us REAL Democrats need to stay right where we are!! Let the Obamabots go form their own party — we were here first, and we stand for the REAL principles of the Democratic Party — not for the candidate de jure. I’m so tired of these neophytes lecturing me on my party and pushing me out. Well, I’m staying and I hope you all do, too.
Poor White– I have been thinking that exact same thought! New party needed.
It is hard for us to watch the party turn it’s back on the most successful members it has known in decades. The Clinton’s deserve respect and to be given the same loyalty they have given. God Bless them and put Hillary in the White House where she deserves to be!
They Clintons the best offer yes to have, and the DNC prefer to choose the man from Kenya!
She has done so beautifully in her visit in Puerto Rico, she knows how to interact with the Puerto Ricans, how to convingcily transmit her message in how she will provide help to the Island to recover from the ail of the bad economy. She and Bill have helped the island very much. And the people have a special place for them ‘in their hearts’. It is not easy to win Puerto Ricans’s heart.
Even artists who are going to visit the Island for the first time, are scared, since they know if they conquer Puerto Rico, they will do great in their careers. The people in Puerto Rico do not easily fell for ‘the hype’! If they do not like an artist, the artist will know immediately, ‘no applause’… They studied your face, eyes, behavior, to see if you are a sincere person.
It is important to understand that the people from Puerto Rico will call their family who live in USA and will tell them to cast their votes for Hillary, they not only influence in winning delegates and super delegates for her, they can influence their people who already live in different states to remain loyal to her.
Congratulations to Benicio del Toro, for his award in Cannes Festival, another Puerto Rican bringing glory to such small island, ah? but big in talent, courage.
It is nice to see that Sen Rodham always has that lovely smile, you look at her and she radiates energy, life! Watch the pictures in yahoo, type ‘hillary clinton in puerto rico’, and click in images…great ones and at the link below..watch her having fun drinking a beer, curiously the brand of the beer is PRESIDENTE!

So different to watch Mit-chelle in this funny picture that shows her ‘next movie’ called The Diary of a Mad Black Woman the movie! What an angry ‘first lady’! Learn from Hillary Mit-chelle!

For you both great americans, my dear Clintons:
If I could I will sing it to her at those meetings!
THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM,
To dream the impossible dream
To fight the unbeatable foe
To bear with unbearable sorrow
To run where the brave dare not go
To right the unrightable wrong
To love pure and chaste from afar
To try when your arms are too weary
To reach the unreachable star
This is my quest
To follow that star
No matter how hopeless
No matter how far
To fight for the right
Without question or pause
To be willing to march into Hell
For a heavenly cause
And I know if I’ll only be true
To this glorious quest
That my heart will lie peaceful and calm
When I’m laid to my rest
And the world will be better for this
That one woman, scorned and covered with scars
Still strove with his last ounce of courage
To reach the unreachable star!
Arriba Hillary, if the DNC ask you to step down to do it for the party, tell them, no you have to keep fighting for your people. Tough decision loyal to the party or to the people that has been fighting for you Hillary? There is no party already, they do not want to abide by the rules, why the rush?
If you abandon us, we will feel defeated again for a person who surrender to the pressure of a party. Al Gore did that and look what happened.
The wrong man took the presidency.
No, be brave. I know Pelosi thinks she is the Queen and won’t tolerate you (Hillary) looking at her, as the Madame Commander in Chief, oh I would love to see Pelosi’s face addressing Sen Rodham properly, with all due respect to the new MCIC!
Gratis for such beautiful and strong words.
Milly, Brava! You said it so well. I enjoyed every word and was grinning from ear to ear the whole way.
Si, Arriba, Hillary, Arriba.
DEMS ! Let’s get this right.
It’s our Hillary,Stupid.
How about a Clintonista party!! haha…I’m a Clintonista for life!! Clearly the democratic party does not share my values!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oYrOtdlPsc
Oh I’ll never forgive you for that!
Agree Hope….IT IS POLITICAL SUICIDE AND ILLOGICAL….OBAMA’S CONTINUOUS DENEGRATION OF THE CLINTON/GORE ADMINISTRATIONS IS APPALLING AND IDIOTIC !….
Here we have the most successful Democratic president since FDR and the only political weapon of substance…The former first Lady who changed history by becoming a twice elected member of the Senate ( a feat who’s closest silmilarity was when Eleanor Roosevelt was appointed to the UN ) The Roosevelt allusions are truly uncanny with this political couple…
And we have Al Gore who’s success internationally is both admirable and astonishing given the dabacle of the HIJACK of 2000…
*** Whenever the Obama campaign smears Bill Clinton they are also smearing Al Gore as Bill’s adminstrative triumphs were also Al’s…They were a remarkable team….***
HOW LOGICAL IS IT FOR THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY TO ATTEMPT TO RID ITSELF OF 3 OF OUR BEST AND PROVEN SERVANTS HILLARY, BILL AND AL ?
IS IT ANY WONDER AL GORE DID NOT SEEK TO RUN FOR POTUS WITH THESE PARTYOGLIARCHS AT HIS BACK…I CAN ONLY MARVEL AT THE COMMITMENT AND COURAGE OF SEN. CLINTON….
**** By the way….My increasingly bitter old dog Harry heartily enjoyed the clip from his favorite Ol’ Rascal Bill….Bill Clinton was my JFK and Hillary is my FDR with a healthy dash of Truman in the mix….I admire her and trust her….and like Eleanor she is the soul of the party I have belonged to since 1979…..OBAMA IS A FASCIST WHO MUST BE STOPPED…..***
THANKS AGAIN FOR A GREAT POST….IT’S ALWAYS GOOD TO SEE BILL
*** BILL CLINTON FOR FIRST DUDE ! ***
A new alternative Democrat party, to be named, headed by the Clintons. They have the people behind them. Sometimes history is made when you least expect it. Our time is now.
I hoped this happens I actaully just wrote a post on my blog today hoping for such a thing. We really need a moderate party in the US. The right wingers are all wrong and so is the far left. The best presidents have always been in the middle.
The “New Wave” party. Would that be cool!
Over at Hillbuzz, they suggested the “Phoenix” party, rising out of the ashes of the fiasco known as the 2008 Democratic nomination.
it should be ;;DEMS WITH BRAINS ::: PARTY
or the ‘Dems who are Impervious to Kool-aid Party’.
When he came to my little town back in April, it was such a thrill. Over 2,000 people turned out to see him. I was able to get up front and take some great pictures of him. He had a similar message for us. He said, “When people tell you that you should quit, it’s because they’re afraid that you’ll win.”
Wow. Lucky you. I’d be so thrilled to ever get to see him or Hillary speak. I’m glad you had such a memorable experience.
Two weeks before Bill spoke in our town, I went to Fayetteville, N.C. and saw Hillary in person.
Here’s a link to my blog post with a few of the pictures I took.
http://lkcampbell.blogspot.com/2008/03/she-was-worth-wait.html
I was fortunate enough to see them both this primary. Bill came to Texas before things heated up here. Lot of AAs were in attendance. Then, Hillary about a week before the vote. Most of the AAs had left by that time but the ones remaining worked very hard for her.
I AGREE….I think Bill traveling around the country has done so much fo both our party ( again another great service to an ungrateful party establishment )….and our country….It’s like recieving a civics class from the master and generates renewed interest in the body politic who as felt abandoned and demoralized….There are all kinds of folks who show up just to listen and why should’nt they he is a former POTUS of note….
UNA SALS VICTIS NULLAM PERE SALUTEM
( KNOWING THERE IS NO HOPE CAN GIVE ONE THE COURAGE TO FIGHT AND WIN…)
My daughter got lucky she stood in line forever and finally got to shake Bill’s hand! She also got to see Hillary (as did I) when she came a week later!
Thousands were turned away. She ended up winning 19 of 20 counties in WNC.
So our hard work did some good. Still lost the state but we tried.
How could she lose the state winning 19 out of 20 counties. This method of counting needs to be redone.
noooo 19 of 20 counties in my district!!!!! The state has much more than that!
see the map of NC here
LOL
Note that Dawnelle says that Hillary won 19 of 20 counties in WESTERN North Carolina. Take a look at the map on this webpage. It shows that Hillary did fantastically well in the Appalachian part of North Carolina but did not fare quite so well in Eastern North Carolina, particularly in “urban” areas like Raleign and Fayetteville.
thanks for the back up! ^5 :-]
How could she lose the state winning 19 out of 20 counties.
You ask a friend of mine from AKP&D Media in Chicago – or a representative thereof – to do the count. Remember what Joe Stalin said: what’s important isn’t how people vote – it’s how people count.
Dawnelle,
Your reports before and during the NC Primary were nuggets of gold for all of us.
Western NC is gorgeous and I am from NH so it would have to be as spectacular as it is to impress me.
Unfortunately those near I-95 are not as fun or as interesting as those in Western NC,
You worked your heart out and took the best part of NC for Hillary – walk proud for your success.
Cheers.
You did not fail – The National Media failed you!
Cheers to you Nellie and thank you!
The Hillary group up here is really a great group and still pretty active.
Bill normally gets huge fees for speaking. This campaign has, indeed, been a win-win for we regular people. I simply love hearing him talk! That man can put ideas into words like nobody else.
And he’s loving it, too. To think people said he was not “presidential” of him to be doing this. What stuff and nonsense. I can’t imagine a more rewarding chapter in his life than to be back out doing what he absolutely loves to do.
It’s been a sheer pleasure to see him enjoy this so much. Even his mistakes were funny to me.
The media is already jumping all over this saying its hurting Hillary. Funny how when Bill speaks they say it hurts Hillary, but when Michelle talks her trash they all ignore it. And of course Obama tells everyone they better leave his wife alone. Lets jsut wait and see how much they leave his wife alone after the video is shown.
Yeah – it hurts Hillary by making her stronger and more popular.
True. There’s one more thing we need in addition to another party, and that’s an independent press that will honestly report what’s happening.
As President Clinton said, they try to cover up or hide the fact that she’s winning by being so biased in their coverage of the two campaigns. As far as their favorite lie — that his campaigning is hurting her — the media apparently thinks if they repeat it often enough, she will stop using one of her most effective weapons.
They also apparently think that if they also constantly repeat the lie that she has no chance to win that we will give up and stop working for her and donating to her.
They are badly mistaken.
“in addition to another party, and that’s an independent press”
Third Party
Americans are too politically naive, too under-educated, lack the attention span and are too self-absorbed to comprehend another political party.
Independent Press
There is no press, just the business interests of Time-Warner, News Corporation, Viacom and Disney. These media cartels must be atomized before we can begin to get a press has a chance of educating and informing intelligent voters.
For intelligent voters loop back to “Third Party”……..
or reflect upon the intelligence of the population that elected Bush twice.
I agree that it’s too late in this election cycle; however, as the R&D parties no longer meet the needs of most people, a new party is necessary.
The Populist party at one time nearly won. It needs to take out either the Rep or Dem party.
For third parties to be viable, we need to reform the way elections are done. Personally, I advocate Instant Run-off Voting (IRV) as the replacement for the simple majority system we currently have. With IRV, there are no “spoilers.”
You need more than an ‘independent’ press. You need a press with more top drawer female reporters, journalists, and ‘anchorpersons’. Jessica S hit the glass ceiling; that ceiling has to go away. You get women running the show in the telly and you start to control the political climate. Time for men to kick back at the bar and let women run things for a while. As Günther Grass said: patriarchy has failed miserably – give the women a chance.
Okay. I’m certainly not against letting women run things; but what I would actually like in my imaginary independent press is just honest, unbiased reporting. I don’t care which sex they are, what race or ethnicity, I’m just so sick of sneering, lying reporters with a much below average IQ and an agenda (and yes, it is because they are all owned by Time Warner, et al.; and I find the notion of them being “atomized” strangely appealing).
Can’t Helen Thomas and Walter Cronkite start some sort of online news service?
I just watched this video twice and I don’t see anything hurtful in it. Unless we’re playing (via Uppity) Corrente’s “Obama Golf” game! Oh, I get it! Okay, here’s how you play.
Bill: “The people, they want her. Oh my goodness, we have to cover this up.”
0. Cover up: something you wear over your swim suit.
1. Al Campanis, former LA Dodgers manager said that Black people can’t swim because “they just don’t have the buoyancy.”
2. Obama is Black.
3. Bill is a racist.
p.s. Is that a par 3?
I’ve been wondering why they wanted Hillary out and came up with an idea.
If she had already dropped out MI and FL would automatically go to Obama.
Just a thought.
Only when playing poker should one quit while they are ahead.
NOBAMA!
There are plenty of us who aren’t playing poker at all. We mean what we say. I’ve been in this movie before and I already know the outcome.
I went to see Bill Clinton at a Marriott when he came to Denver to speak at a Hillary fundraiser in January. The big money donors were positioned in front of the platform on which he stood and the rest of us stood behind ropes, cordoned off well behind the wealthy donors.
Bill gave a great speech, of course, and afterwards he walked right through the group of big donors to where the rest of were standing, shaking hands and talking to people.
He made his way around to me and asked what I did for a living and I told him that I’m a teacher. He put his hand on my shoulder and started talking to me about the No Child Left Behind debacle. He asked me if my students seemed well prepared for college and how I felt about state testing requirements. We talked for about five minutes about education and its needs, and each time he emphasized a point, he’d squeeze my shoulder, which is a southernism I grew up with.
I loved the Big Dog before then but after that night, Bill Clinton holds a special place in my little working class heart.
I only wish someone had taken a photo.
I got a great snapshot now in my head…
My portfolio misses him. And that’s another thing I shall never forgive. They villified the only president of only two we elected in thirty years–who served two terms and brought prosperity. Now we will make it 34 years, thanks to them. But the cycle always repeats itself. The fringe rear their marxist heads, they conjure up the children and excite them. they imagine they have got things all sewed up. But the time October rolls around, the electorate is horrified. Same movie every time. Dukakis, only taller. And this time, even more people are pissed and it’s not even June yet.
I shall enjoy it.
For one thing, I am thankful they both are forgiving…burn no bridges types. They keep their focus on the job and can work with anyone.
Hill and Bill ane the true Uniters.
And they don’t do it for a slogan. They believe in their hearts that they can help. And then they do help.
OT. What did Hillary do for “Axelrove’s” child as a special help when she was first lady? Anyone remember it from the time? All I recall , it was a kindness that was during a bad time for Hill.
I met Bill. He came to my small town on my birthday this year.
I like to think that “The President came to my town for my birthday.” I got to hear him speak for Hillary and got to shake his hand. The place was jam packed and he got the crowd roaring.
What an inspirational clear thinking man.
And imagine… Hillary will be even better as POTUS.
That’s a wonderful story! To think, we could have had this election in the bag, with a wonderful president and Bill as “first man” – two for one! I’ll never forgive “them” for what they have done. And good for Bill he didn’t “expand” on “they”. He’s no fool – we all know.
OT
Since March 4th Hillary has won 7 out of 11 primaries and who knows who won Guam. What happened to the recount???
Vote totals since Ohio
Hillary
6,502,507
barky
5,977,295
Giving Hillary 525,212 more votes than barky since March 4th.
Can you say momentum.
Hey scott, how are the people in Jupiter feeling about Barky blocking their votes?
Lots of redneck racist out here. So they will be voting for McCain.
I’ve been noticing a lot of “COUNT OUR VOTES” bumper stickers lately.
I’m sorry. I don’t see any cover-up. All the polls are available and promoted by the organisations paying for them. The Clintons choose to speak about the ones they like and Obama supporters promote the ones they like, both in order to influence undeclared Super Delegates. And so far, the Super Delegates have seen fit to be more impressed with how much Obama will help down ticket than Clinton will.
How is this a coverup?
He’s not talking about the polls. He’s talking about the push by party higher-ups and the media to get Hillary out of the race.
No party leaders or media are sighting polls favorable to Hillary and suggesting Obama drop out.
Oh, never mind. Why bother.
Oh, please. BO has the MSM in his pocket. They tout his good numbers and ignore her BETTER numbers. When was the last time you saw an electoral map on BNN or MSNBO? Rasmussen has stopped polling Hillary against BO. Whenever there’s a poll showing Hillary ahead, it’s ignored and the MSM instead goes to some obscure poll that shows BO leading. It’s all there for anyone wishing to see it. The bias is BLATANT.
Rasmussen hasn’t stopped polling Hillary v McCain. They just don’t mention her in their headlines. You have to read further down in the poll to see that she beats McCain in key states by a far larger margin than Obama. Obama either loses, wins by a smaller margin, or is statistically tied. But you won’t hear that in the media.
And it’s not just polls. When a superdelegate announces for her, it gets no publicity. And look how the media is now using his figures that he only needs 49 more delegates to win, which is a blatant lie.
I think the media hates this country more than Bill Ayers does. It’s like they’re not happy having given us 8 years of Bush, they want to do four more years of damage by trying to get the equally (or more so) incompetent Obama elected.
The cover up is by the Obama camp who ignores that they are sinking in demographics and regions needed to win in November and you have sycophants and a media that go along with it. There is no evidence Obama has helped downticket. So far, the opposite has been shown…. the so-called new voters, vote for Obama and nothing else. Clinton voters vote down ticket. Obama voters are participating in a high school popularity contest for prom king. It’s been a while since I was in high school… but the popular guy and girl did not win the crown and neither will O’boring.
Clinton is a suburb politician and is smoozing the term “cover up” for it’s effect in street theatre.
There is no obstruction of justice here, the venue we usually associate with the term “cover up”, for that you need destroyed evidence and pergery. No special prosecutor, no unindicted coconspirators, Paddy Fitzgerald you can take that vacation at last. Because the fix is in.
The crime of which Bill Clinton speaks is Orwellian in nature and is playing out before our very eyes — in plain sight — (not) brought to you by the collusion of Time-Warner, News Corporation, Viacom and Disney. They accomplish their goals by doing nothing, not reporting.
Bubba points out the obvious but its best expression is Joe Klines’ sangfroid-dripping comment in Orwell Rolls In His Grave, “If it happens but you don’t hear about it,
Did it happen?”
Same movie. Down ticket goes down as candidate goes down. It’s like the movie Groundhog Day again. Anybody who has seen the progression recognizes the stink.
I stood in the sun for over three hours to see the Clinton Campaign bus roll into Western New York in 1992. As I waited, I maneuvered myself closer and closer to the rope line so I could be sure to get a close look at my candidates. Every half hour or so, someone would announce on the loudspeaker that the bus was so many minutes behind schedule (it was pulling over every time the Clintons saw more than a few people standing alongside the road, making them very late!)
Finally the bus pulled in, a speech was given, and then it was all worth it because I got to shake the hands of Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Al Gore and Tipper Gore. What a great day.
What’s happening to the Clintons now- disgusting. I will never vote for Obama, and I will never give a dime to a party that did this to such wonderful people.
Agreed! And for them to smear them as racists is just unbelievable! After everything Bill and Hillary have done for African-Americans way before they entered politics. I can’t believe how quick some have copied Obama to throw the Clintons under the bus. What has Obama done for them? A speech? or for his constituents in Illinois for that matter other than filling them with Wright hate-speech and ingraining in them a culture of victimization and Rezko-type no heat housing. Obama is a fraud and people don’t need to dig very deep into his record to see that. He’s out only for himself and doesn’t care who he has to throw under the bus to get there.
I see that over on FDL that they are debating whether McCain or Barky will get Clinton’s female supporters. Disgusting. Seems to me that Clinton is not yet finished with them. And a goodly number of male supporters, too.

yeah – from Clinton to one of them. like hamlet said from Hyperion to a satyr.
I saw Bill Clinton in February and he is wonderful to listen to. He supports Hillary 100% and the love and respect he has for her is obvious.
The DNC wants someone they can manipulate. Hillary does not fit that scenerio and they fear that.
I greatly fear anyone who CAN be manipulated.
Not like CNN to say anything decent about our former and future presidents.
If the Clinton’s were just in this thing for their own self-aggrandizement, ego and power trip, they would have given up and gone back to Chappaqua and the Clinton Foundation a long time ago. They certainly had other choices of investments of time and money. Sure Hillary’s ambitious – since when was that a bad thing in America?
Folks seem to forget that it’s not about winning, it’s about addressing the real needs of real people (or what’s a Democrat for?). Susan, I hope you will get the chance to meet Bill and/or Hillary in person some day. You (like the others here) will not forget it!
In a previous thread someone wrote that on the afternoon the RFK flap blew up, the Tampa 9 news station was hyping The Politico on the air. Obama was in Tampa that day.
Their senior political reporter showcases a different web site every Friday and that Friday it was The Politico. Strange that it was that site on that Friday.
http://www.baynews9.com/Web.html
“It is astonishing the pace this man is keeping up — if that isn’t LOVE and COMMITMENT, I don’t know what is. (Which makes all the rebuking of Hillary for sticking with Bill in their marriage so silly to me — because marriage is about far more than sex. These two people, for decades now, have deeply respected and fought for each other, through thick and thin, and that is to be greatly admired.)”
Thank you for saying that, Susan!
Although I constantly worry about his health, I must
say how moved I am for how he is literally ‘work-
ing his heart out’ for his ‘Beloved’. He genuinely
believes that she will be a better president than he
was!!
Another thing that worries me is that she is the more cynical and has steeled herself to all the trash
that has been spewed against her. I don’t think he
can quite compute how people can be so utterly cruel
to her. Furthermore, the betrayal of the many must
be like a knife in him that they keep on twisting -
People can only relate to things THEY know and Bill
does not have those horrible qualities and he must
be really, really hurt by the actions of his’friends’.
I wish they knew how many TRUE friends they have acquired in their stead, here in America. We all,
I think, know how people love him throughout the globe!
Lastly, I never thought I would come to care for Hillary as much as I do Bill –
surprise, surprise!
I would think the Clinton’s are not babes in the woods, the man was President, and a very successful one at that. In part, because other than the usual suspects, no one stood in his way.
Didn’t have to.
Don’t underestimate them.
I was always a little jealous of Hillary to tell the truth. Because she had Bill, and I, like millions of red blooded American women, had a major crush on him.
Who would think 16 years later, she’d be running for President and I’d be rooting just as strongly for her,and guess what,…I still have a crush on Bill.
Clinton was the first president in my lifetime I could fully support, who, IMO, fully understood, fully got it.
My mother would say he was brilliant, and she was/is right.
I respect intellectual brilliance that works on behalf of the American people.
Though mistakes were made, (my sister was FURIOUS about the banking deregulation, and cutting welfare was wrong, too) he did much to advance this country, socially, and economically.
The republicans, et al, weren’t to be appeased in retrospect.
During this entire campaign, Hillary has always been my focus. Although I greatly admire her husband, it’s Hillary and only Hillary for this voter. I have COMPLETE confidence in her ability to make this country better, and I’d vote for her even if Bill wasn’t her husband. We’ve got to get her in the White House!!
We will remember in November.
So will the Seniors. And the Jews. And the gays and lesbians. And the latinos. And the Garlic Noses. And Florida. And Michigan. Major voting blocks, and all the Marxist party has to do is lose 30 percent of them.
I absolutely roar laughing when I go to blogs where Obama supporters start talking about Hillary losing her Senate seat here if she loses the nomination. Apparently if you live in Obama-world just thinking makes eveything so. Glad to have found this site – sometimes clear headed people can get so discouraged on the blogosphere. Nice to know there are still a few people around that don’t like Kool-Aid!
That’s some purty sour stuff with quite the pucker power, isn’t it?
Orange Kool-Aid gives me verbal Diarrhea.
The Senate does not deserve her she could do more somewhere else.
The senate needs her because the voters need her she has WON that election, and they are stealing it from her, and from us.
Who will advocate for the public?
No more 2000’s, please…
We really don’t want Chicago style elections, nation wide.
They have to be kidding. NY loves Hillary. That’s the most moronic thing I have heard yet. In their dreams.
These people are not content to merely cheat, they aim to destroy. Chicago style politics, indeed. Obama needs to be as far away from power as possible.
_________________________________________________
I am always amused by those people too. I live in NY. Yet to meet anyone who plans on voting her out of the senate.
Remember to donate at hillaryclinton.com… Go Bill.
Bill did GREAT in SD !!!
WJC is amazing.
Obama needs to eat a lot of crow before
he is even allowed to watch the big league that
Pres.WJC & HRC belong to.
I shall enjoy it.
I am hoping Obama and Michelle O get to keep their long overdue appointment with a certain USA named Patrick Fitzgerald.
Thanks for the post! I just do not understand why people trash Hillary for staying with Bill. What part of “for better or worse, til death do us part” do people not get??? She chose to honor her vows and she catches hell for it??? WTF?
I personally admire her for her ability to forgive his infidelity and to stand by her committment to her marriage.
Bravo for Bill for defending her!
I saw him speak in Boston oh those many years ago! I saw him here in PA just before our primary. He speaks TO the people, not AT them.
Susan- I hope you get to see and hear them both, soon!
I agree. Hillary should be commended for honoring her marriage vows. You can tell when you see them on TV that they love each other very much. So what that he cheated? A lot of men cheat. He just happened to get caught in a very public, humiliating manner. That they were able to transcend that speaks volumes about their love for one another.
I wish I had the kind of love those two have.
You’re talking about a generation that gets married, divorced and moves back home before their parents have finished paying off the wedding.
Military Mon,
Frankly it is none of mine or anyone elses business regarding the marriage of anyone else except myself.
Where do people get the idea that they have a right to comment on other peoples marriages, when over half of them cannot keep their own together?
MOST OF THE FOLKS WHO HATE HER FOR STAYIN WITH HIM ARE EITHER UNMARRIED…WTH NO HOPE OF EVER BEING MARRIED ( chuckle ) OR….THEY ARE DIVORCED AND BITTER ABOUT IT !
*** Whatever happened then or now ain’t my business…it is theirs and I admire then both for being committed to the long haul in their marriage and their politics…..The proof is in the pudding…a remarkable family..***
The Democratic Party elite are so out of touch with average Americans – they once branded Hillary and Bill as the “Hill-Billies” because of their Scranton, PA and Arkansas red-neck roots! The majority of Americans are blue-collar workers! If they are the epitome of the derogatory term “hillbillies” then count me in!
Hill-Billies Forever!
for once and FINALLY all of my HOMES have one thing in common……… they all voted for Hillary!!
Indiana, FL and WNC (ok well our DISTRICT went overwhelmingly for Hill)
I would have NEVER THUNK IT! hehe!
not a Hillbilly but a Hillie4Hill&Billy
Yes he is talking about polling. Bill:
“Oh, this is so terrible: She is winning the general election, and he is not. Oh my goodness, we have to cover this up.”
I used to work fulltime in political polling and pollsters ask the questions that people pay them to ask. There have been no electoral maps on CNN and MSNBC because there is no reason at this time to poll by state except where there are upcoming primaries. So all you get is nationwide and a few states. And projecting the small samples in nationwide polls into a state snapshot has a very high margin of error. When electoral votes count, people will pay to poll adequately in the states but news organizations are not going to pay the thousands of dollars per state when their value is only as part of an argument to Super Delegates. Since Electoral Votes are not used in awarding delegates, no spent to count them.
Maybe the Clinton campaign is willing to and maybe have, hell they already are paying Mark Penn 2-3 million a month for polling, but news organizations are not going to use candidate internal polling in a news story.
There is no media conspiracy. There is no cover up. It’s just a business decision.
Ok. It’s a business decision. You can pay the pollsters. You’re not paying each person polled. Hillary still beats McCain by a larger margin in nationwide polls. Including Rasmussen. Those are not internal candidate polls.
There’s no cover-up. Fine. Odd that the media would focus on that instead of the larger point Bill was making. Why do the media and party leaders want Hillary to drop out?
The primary race has gone at least to June more often than not in the last 20 years or more.
If you choose to believe Obama and axelrod did not steal and fix this election, that is your choice, more power to you.
But be careful of the decisions you make, based on that lie.
It’s not a positive harbinger for you, or him.
there is no reason at this time to poll by state except where there are upcoming primaries.
It’s a good thing your so focus on the next battle but not the war…
I can rest easy at night now that you say that.
Reminds me of Wes Clark on CNN during the first 48 hours of the invasion in 2003. He saw the Iraqi “soldiers” melt away and flat out said “something is wrong” and this will be “asymetrical guerilla warfare”. No one listened and he was shown the door ASAP for sayin it like it was.
The rest is history paid for in lives and treasure.
Poll that, igit.
Sorry “ED” I used to work in polling too. I’ve seen the polls that show Hillary is stronger against McCain. They are public. The “cover up” is the news media choosing what data to highlight.
As an example, two weeks ago, the Chicago Tribune had the headline “KENTUCKY LEANS TOWARD CLINTON”. Leans? She won by how much and they said Kentucky was leaning ?
The media consistently highlights information favorable to Obama. That’s the cover up.
Our family’s affiliation has changed from Democratic to Independent. The treatment of Hillary by the party has made our decision easy. I know there are some great supporters of hers in the party, such as Govs Rendell and Easley and people like Sen. Baye in the Senate. She also got some great support from fellow democrats in Ohio. But after a 41 point victory in WV, we find that both democratic senators in the state endorsed Obama. Sen. Byrd was hungry for the opportunity to use the endorsement to expunge the stain of Klan membership from his record before he dies. Great for him, bad for the country.
But Pelosi especially has been a big disappointment. When she was asked if Obama would pick her for VP, she said coyly “Oh, he’s too smart for that!” She’s finally revealed why she’s been such as ineffective speaker. Likes to act dumb.
Donna Brazile needs to be retired fast. Hasn’t she gummed up enough elections? She’s trying for a huge loss this time by pushing Obama on us. I remember her smug face from the Gore campaign. Why is she still so smug?
Brazile has been the kiss of death on every race she has “strategized”.
Wasn’t that Claire McCaskill?
susan said-
“… if that isn’t LOVE and COMMITMENT, I don’t know what is. (Which makes all the rebuking of Hillary for sticking with Bill in their marriage so silly to me — because marriage is about far more than sex. These two people, for decades now, have deeply respected and fought for each other, through thick and thin, and that is to be greatly admired.)”
i could not possibly agree with you more.
but what is amazing about this comment of yours is
that this is the first time i have EVER seen this publicly stated. yet every married couple that sticks together thru time understands this very well.
you are some nervy lady,
but i didn’t have to tell you that, do i.
furthermore, the continuous 15-year-old, yes 15 years, PUBLIC commentary on the clinton marriage, often in the meanest terms, is one of the great acts of inhumanity committed by the american corporate media from the nytmes and the wapo to the teevee networks.
100 percent AGREE!!
I WHOLEHEARTEDLY SECOND THAT ! IT IS A NATIONAL DISGRACE AND BETRAYS A CHILDISH HYPOCRITICAL IMMATURITY PERVASIVE IN AMERICAN CULTURE….
MARRIAGE IS A COMMITMENT…
PARENTHOOD IS A COMMITMENT…
POTUS IS A JOB THAT REQUIRES STEADY COMMITMENT….
So true about the media trashing the Clinton’s private lives. Did they do this to JFK and Jackie O? That would have been juicy tabloids – especially with the kinky sex JFK had, and both brothers sleeping with Marilyn Monroe. The media has officially slid into lowest scums on the planet behind trashy lawyers and pimps.
The media was different back then, too. They didn’t make 7-figure salaries and believe they were gods.
The story I heard Bill had shared recently about Hillary being upset over the abused children that led her to further her education comes to mind.
After hearing about that I realized Bill fell in love with a woman who genuinely cares about people who suffer at the hands of others. Not that Bill has suffered anywhere near the pain of the abused children he referred to, but when you learn about his childhood and teen years you can better understand his deep love and respect for her, a woman filled with compassion for others.
As far as Hillary being considered a not-so-nice word…well, if I’d been under attack continuously for all the years she has been, I’d be one, too. I can’t begin to imagine how difficult all those years were for her.
You know she took a big risk letting that defense down in this campaign, and that goes to show even more how giving she really is. She put others before herself in that respect, too.
Hillary ‘08!
I applaud Bill’s statement, “I’ve never seen a candidate treated so disrespectfully just for running.” He could have added, running beautifully against seemingly insurmountable obstacles such as the blatant bias and sexism rampant in the media and the DNC, amid false accusations of racism and threats of racial riots, and premature insistence that she “get out of the race” for no justifiable reason and no historical precendent. This primary is a neck and neck race between two formidable opponents. Why are there no calls for Obama to cede his position in this contest? His abdication would be more logical given the well-known and overblown amount of votes he amassed from Dems for a Day and questionable caucuses – votes which will not follow him to the GE, and the fact that many who voted for BO prior to the Rev. Wright debacle becoming public are now experiencing “buyer’s remorse”. It’s been proven he cannot carry the swing states needed for the Dem party in Nov and he has greatly alienated two major states (FL and MI) by choosing to not have their votes counted and two additional states (KY and WV) by implying their votes didn’t count for much either. Reliable polls indicate Hillary can beat McCain handily in the general election and Obama cannot. These few examples are the proverbial tip of the “Valid Reasons Obama Shouldn’t be President” iceberg. Yet there are no calls for Obama to pull out of the race. There has been an unconscionable blind eye to the sniper tactics aimed at the Clintons, and a complete and inexplicable disregard for the truth in this primary season.
“Reason and free inquiry are the only effectual agents against error.”-Thomas Jefferson
ISLAMABAD: Musharraf’s brother and son, who are based in the US, have been making generous donations to Obama who is a strong opponent of the Bush administration. Naveed Musharraf, the president’s brother, and Irum Bilal Musharraf, his daughter-in-law, have reportedly given donations to Obama instead of Republican Party’s John McCain.
According to US federal election commission records, Musharraf’s family has never been supportive of Republicans in terms of donations.
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/W…ously_to_Obama/articleshow/3071643.cms
Isn’t Musharraf’s brother a surgeon, a doctor, in Chicago?
BWHA!
I wonder if he practices at the U of Chicago, or Northwestern?
Ah.
I’m telling you Obama is very discomforting. Very discomforting.
I remember seeing Russert interview Mush right after the Iraq war started, and he mentioned the brother in Chicago. This was in 2003.
So, I wonder if, and how, he fits into the IL combine?
Chicago must be crawling with middle easterners of dubious character. Kahlidi is there too. He bundled 50k for Obama. So is Alsammarae. He escaped from an Iraq prison and knew exactly where to head. He said he did his escape “The Chicago Way”. No kidding. He said that. Why was he imprisoned? Welp, he was the “Minister of Electricity” in Iraq and was making bribe deals left and right. One of his bribers? Tony Rezko. Rezko gave him 1.5 million for a contract of 50 million. after Rezko was arrested, Alsammarae put up more than 2 million towards his bail. So guess which Presidential candidate had to donate to charity the money Alsammarae contributed to his campaign just a few short weeks ago? Go ahead, guess.
I love the video of Bill on the truck with the flag in the background.
I don’t think the media or the DNC have ANY idea the backlash and anger that many American’s feel for the way the Clinton’s have been treated in all of this. I also think the DNC doesn’t care because they’re thinking, “Hey, we will get Hillary and Bill to rally the women and blue collar voters and all will be fine.”
Yes, I believe the Clinton’s will be team players. But if anything, I think Democrats that have been so angered by this process, by being called racists, uneducated, and every other name in the book, will never vote for Obama. In fact, I think voters will GLADLY watch the defeat.
It’s not like the Clinton’s haven’t warned them.
I’ve put up some new electoral maps with recent polls. Hillary is moving up fast. Obama stays the same or losing support.
http://tinyurl.com/5c9tbm
I hope the Clintons will not obey the dictates a l-term loser like
Jimmy Carter, and a no-term loser like John Edwards.
They should listen to their supporters, and themselves.
I admire Bill Clintons energy – especially since he has had hearth-health issues and major surgery. Go Bill Go!
i love both the clintons……how about the party, the hillbillies ! 17 million and growing. lots of hillbillies, bitter, gun totin, cousin pokin, bible thumpin hillbillies ! there has to be a new party born now……we have to evolve beyond the fringe left and cut them loose. we can do it, yes we can !
Susan said: “I LOVE YOU, Bill. I love you for fighting for Hillary, not because she is your wife and your devoted partner in life, but because you know — better than even us, her most ardent supporters — what a superb president she will make.
We are as puzzled, befuddled, and shocked as you by the efforts to quash her candidacy.”
Exactly! When the campaign got stuck in Pa for 6 whole weeks I got to see Bill twice and he was in full fledged policy wonk mode and both times touched on totally different aspects of issues. His pride for Hillary has always been obvious. They’ve done more for this country than anyone I can think of in modern times and look at the thanks they get.
They both earned my thanks so many times over.
Puerto Rico counts and it sure does matter this year.
Go Big Dawg, tell it like it is. How come they want her to quit? The fix is in but he can’t win.
Serves them right for playing dirty. Karma, chickens.
Somebody has bamboozled the media also. The media knows that the super delegates can vote whoever they want to be the nominee. I don’t care how many delegates Obama has, he still doesn’t have the right amount to be declared the nominee. I am so over Obama. If Hillary isn’t the nominee, McCain will be president and I will be an independent. I hope we are all agreed on this. That will be the only way to fight this joke of a primary.
I do NOT want Axelrod taking Rove’s place in the whitehouse.
Obama doesn’t win the GE, then he is OUT for good, which is very good.
The DNC can spend the next 4 years renovating its crappy caucus system,
and coming up with rules that prevent Axelrods from bulldozing over
and alienating half the party.
The media isn’t trying to push her out. They are saying that she has little chance to win based on the number of delegates outstanding.
If you watched Timmeh on MTP yesterday, he ran a clip of himself on the Today Show in 1992 announcing in March that the race was over and that Bill Clinton had won the nomination. True, Jerry Brown kept running until June but had little chance of winning. The media ignored him and Hillary Clinton this year is getting a much fairer shake then he received.
Russert said the Clinton’s loved him in ‘92 for calling it for them. What a difference a few years make, huh?
You must not be watching the same television that I’m watching. Check out Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews and Jay Abrams on MSNBC. Then come back and tell me that the media isn’t trying to push her out. Olbermann even suggested that “someone take her out”. You can decide for yourself what he meant, but I don’t think he meant dinner and dancing.
Someone should edit together a string of Olbermann sound bites against Clniton.
Russturd say a lot of crap….
Where is the quote?
He has no credibility, they lost it all when they sold Iraq the same way they’re selling Obama.
And they know it.
Who would give any of them a second thought?
Wow, do I disagree with that. Because I remember very clearly after Iowa that the media said Hillary Clinton was done and should drop out. They continued to say she HAS NO CHANCE OF WINNING since before Super Tuesday. So, this has nothing to do with her standing in June. The media has constantly told Hillary Clinton she needs to drop out for the good of the party.
Not to mention the “leaders” of her own party. The Patrick Leahy comment, “She would have a good career in the Senate,” Tom Daschle wanted her out BEFORE Texas and Ohio, Obama said “this was like the Bataan Death March and he was tired, but it would be okay if she stayed in if she wanted.” There has been a constant drumbeat for Hillary to quit.
Bill Clinton is saying that no other candidate has ever been asked to quit. And that is true. Many people have gone all the way to the convention. It is their right and no one should be telling them to quit. It’s the candidates decision. And by the way, Hillary Clinton’s situation is very different then Jerry Brown’s is it not? Obama DOESN’T HAVE THE NEEDED DELEGATES FOR THE NOMINATION. Bill Clinton did.
August is a long way off when you have skeletons in your closet.
No, Timmeh is still the same fool he was then…I mean honestly…If Karl Rove called you up and feed you a line of earwax you would not turn around and report to your “viewing audience”? Oh yeah he would not want to loose THAT cozy relationship in the interest of national security!
What a guy! He so full of himself he can’t even get through his own waffles!
Or maybe it gets off when he makes a complete fool of himself; waving his finger and scolding Senator Clinton, in his Gotcha bullshit, during a debate. What a pig. “The other Ed”
“What a guy! He so full of himself he can’t even get through his own waffles!”
lol Brilliant line!!!
True, they may have loved Russert for calling it for them. But did the media then go into “you must drop out mode”? Did the Democratic leadership call for Brown to drop out? Mostly, if I remember correctly, they just ignored him which even you admit.
But there was not a concerted effort by party leadership and the media to force him to drop out.
Being glad for someone winning or being way ahead or even calling it for them is not the same.
Ignoring voters and calling them uneducated and racist is not the same.
How is being called a b*tch, a wh*re, and setting up a website that spells out c*nt the same? Did anyone ask Jerry Brown to “iron their shirt”?
Did someone compare Jerry to a crazed movie character like they compared Hillary to the Glenn Close character in Fatal Attraction? When the character got killed by rising again did they they say that character should have never gotten up (or out of the tub)?
Did someone suggest that Jerry Brown should go into a room with a man and only one of them should come out?
The powers-that-be in the Democratic Party didn’t want FDR either. He didn’t win the nomination until the fourth round of voting at the convention.
You can do a lot of things but you can’t re-write history.
Fair shake. Okay.
[...] Clinton: Cover-Up hiding Hillary’s Chances Posted on May 26, 2008 by katiebird SusanUnPC is links to this story: (CNN) — Former President Bill Clinton said that Democrats were more [...]
What Obama did to the Clintons is a crime. Obama is the worst and weakest candidate we’ve seen in a long time. Obama is nothing but a smooth talking pimp from South Chicago. All his degrees are affirmative action (same with Michelle – read her crappy Princeton senior thesis)
Boy = youre right there…but we are npt allowed to mention this. I went to Columbia at the same time as Obama – understand that TWICE the NYTimes has asked him to release his college records and he has refused. Michelle said in a speech – that they tole her that her test scores werent high enough to get into Princeton.
Understand this – I saw the house she grew up in – it was an arts and crafts design – much bigger and nicer than the one I grew up in.
I came from a single mom household….but my grandma wasnt a banker who could send me to a fancy honolulu prep school. But guess what I didnt have a box to check off that said – let me in on my college Application. We know Obama checked that box for Harvard too.
Lets be real about these issues….these things will matter to the general election voters…hell, they matter to me!
Obama got into Harvard as a legacy admit, and from what I’ve read, through a highly placed network.
Just like Bush.
Unless we’re counting affirmative action for the wealthy, too…
So, did the bamster make skull and bones?
This is our last chance to get a Clinton back in the whitehouse, guys.
I don’t know about you, but I’ll be in Washington on May 31.
Terry MacAuliffe kept talking about FRIDAY(Good Lord, he’s sexy…but I digress) anyway, the demonstration is Saturday, right? 7 AM – 4 PM ?
I have to confess I drank the Clinton kool-aid long ago. When he talks, I listen and could for hours.
Bill is still the man. He is fighting so hard for Hillary. We all know that he owes her big time. He seems to be a very astute guy when it comes to politics. I was a little upset when I heard he might be peddling her as VP. I saw Terry Macauliffe on Fox yesterday and he said it isn’t true. I hope he is right.
Sometimes you wish this would be over, but Denver is a long way off. A lot could happen between now and then. Three months is an eternity in politics. I wonder how much bad press Obama may get from the Jimmy Carter remark that Isreal has 125 nukes. I wish he had endorsed Obama already. Of course they had it on CNN at 5:00 pm and then the word came out that it shouldn’t be on the NBC news at 6:30 from Obama HQ.
Catch him today, he was wearing his flag pin. Unfortunately, John McCain outweighed him, he had a minuture purple heart.
“I was a little upset when I heard he might be peddling her as VP. I saw Terry Macauliffe on Fox yesterday and he said it isn’t true. I hope he is right.”
Hillary was asked about this on Friday. Sorry, I don’t have the link. But it was in the interview with the editors in SD. Hillary said that was flat out wrong about the VP talks. She said the media should ask her opponent about those rumors. It’s an attempt to make people think she’s done.
And an attempt to discourage us from donating to her. We should not believe anything unless it comes directly from her campaign; the lying media are nothing more than Obama’s PR department, and their “unnamed sources” are created from their own imagination, like Obama did his “autobiography.”
“get from the Jimmy Carter remark that Isreal has 125 nukes”
Make that 150 crowd pleasers that Israel has.
At 20-25 kilotons a hit, the extra 25 warheads greases New England or the Pacific Northwest.
I’m still waiting for the IDF to knock the first Palestinian tank.
The “third party” stuff is pure nonsense. The fact is if Hillary Clinton were to run for president on a third party candidacy, how in the world could she get anything accomplished as president if elected? She couldn’t. She would piss off both the Democratic and Republican parties. It would be gridlock throughout her term.
It’s not going to happen, people. We need to make sure Obama is not the nominee of the Democratic Party.
Its our party and we’ll fix it if we want to!
I love Bill Clinton!
I’m not puzzled as to why they keep demanding she quit. It’s sexism, pure and simple.
I bet there are a whole lot of women who remember what it was like as girls to be forced to quit so as not to make the boys look bad. No longer being able to play sports with the boys because you might hurt their self esteem. Having to dumb yourself down in high school so as not to be a social outcast. Always having to be careful not to step on any male egos at work.
I don’t blame boys and men for this, it’s the culture we live in. Half the time it was the parents complaining, not the boys. They didn’t want their sons competing against girls because if they lost they’d look like real sissies. Throw a little homophobic pressure in there and the boys wind up conforming too. What the worst thing a boy can do? Throw like a girl. Act like a girl. Loose to a girl.
So no, I’m not puzzled by the cries for Hillary to quit. It’s pure sexism.
We’re not going ANYWHERE! This is our Party and we will stand and fight for it!
We will take this fight to Denver…I mean what are they going to do to us – lie and pretend that we are racists who want to see Obama murdered?!
I mean how much worse can they get?! Screw these hate filled people – its on to Denver!
41%?
35%?
MI & FL????
Leading in the pop vote against McCain AND the electoral map!?
Are you kidding me????
To the floor baby!
Let me tell ya – if they end this early – there will be no way I will vote for Obama – MAYBE…I will if she loses fair and square at the convention…
Our while system is set up to compete at the convention – why the hell dont we use it?!
\But if the carters and John Kerreys and the russerts and matthews of this world push her out…I will max out to McCain and campaign for him – thats for sure!
We have every right to take this to the convention.
You must be kidding if you think we’re quitting now!
Lovin’ your spirit! I am ready to fight in Denver – but if they deny HRC the nomination – I’m also ready to bolt the party (like Teddy Roosevelt in 1912) and stand behind HRC should they form a new party.
I know independent/third parties don’t have good track records (never won!!) – but I do think that having Obama come in 3rd (like Taft in 1912) would do the Democrats a world of good. Maybe then – by 2012, we’d be able to get it back together!
I hope recreate68 is loud and obnoxious at the convention so everybody can see it on TV. That’s a sure way to turn off the moderates. I’m loving it.
Uppity – I’m assuming that you’re the same person who has the blog – and just wanted to say – LOVE IT! It is great – thank you for posting the videos today.
“Her only position was, ‘Look, if I lose I’ll be a good team player. We will all try to win, but let’s let everybody vote, and count every vote,’ ” he said.
Or we can disenfranchise voters like a fascist state.
And then we can lose the GE. Because even if a miracle occurred and BHO won, we’d still lose.
It’s despicable.
He’s awesome! I love Bill. And it is clear he loves his wife – his commitment on this campaign to her has been incredible.
And I agree, the Clintons are too good for the Democratic Party! As a long-time DLC’er who hoped we could reform the Party (by focusing on policies that create opportunity, require responsibility, build community, and ensure our security), I have come to the conclusion that the Democratic Party is a lost cause. I’m ready for a new party – as long as it is founded by the Clintons!
It is just sad and disgusting what the democratic party has done this election! Hillary is so much the only candidate worth anything yet the DNC has tried to force Obama down our throats! I will never vote for him and neither will millions of other true Amreicans. They better think twice about saddling us with Obama as the nominee!
I love Bill Clinton, almost as much as Hillary Clinton.
READ and VOTE PLEASE! There are hundreds of us here. Please pass it on.
PLEASE TAKE THE POLL regarding agreeing with Bill Clinton or not (so far he is losing!).
Go to http://www.aol.com, it’s the front page story.
This is ONE OF THE FIRST articles on AOL that give Hillary some time. They may be trying to set up Bill as a “conspiracy nut” just to take them down, but his comments are what we have all been saying here on SP for quite some time. Glad to finally hear the Clinton camp speak out.
Bill Clinton Alleges Cover-Up

(May 26) – Former President Bill Clinton said that Democrats were more likely to lose in November if Hillary Clinton is not the nominee, and suggested some were trying to “push and pressure and bully” superdelegates to make up their minds prematurely.
“I can’t believe it. It is just frantic the way they are trying to push and pressure and bully all these superdelegates to come out,” Clinton said at a South Dakota campaign stop Sunday, in remarks first reported by “ABC News.”
Clinton also suggested some were trying to “cover up” Sen. Clinton’s chances of winning in key states that Democrats will have to win in the general election.
From SusanUnPC:
“We are as puzzled, befuddled, and shocked as you by the efforts to quash her candidacy.”
And I would add:
We are angry, seething, and ready to knock the legs out from under whoever is responsible.
Feels like with every poll that comes out in favor of her and every truth that comes out exposing him, we are caught in a cell phone add to the SDs…
“Can you hear me now?”
They don’t seem to be listening.
Wanna see a cute sexy photo of Bill and Hillary….

CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN – OBAMA/MARXIST
“A Communist Party is essential for Marxists to test revolutionary theory through practice. We are not a debating society wrangling over obscure texts. We are a political movement, and we welcome all who accept our program. As Marx said, “The philosophers have only interpreted the world, in various ways; the point, however, is to change it.” The Communist Party USA is about changing the world.”
After reading through their website, I have seen many aspects of OBAMA/MARXIST campaign. The Communist Party is now even going green.

I clicked through to Keitho’s diatribe about Hillary and assassinations. I lasted about a minute through it. It’s all these patent phrases he pulls out of a hat. He really likes spitting at a teleprompter doesn’t he? LOL
I think it’s very obvious Keith Olbermann has a very small penis if he has a penis at all. I mean just look at him! And his words prove it. Migod if people overseas see this they’re going to laugh themselves silly at this twit.
PS. I guess we can’t call Keitho a dick anymore? Too bad. Seriously: Keitho has a serious sexual issue. I’ve read about it, it’s out there on the net, anyone can read about it. And of course: how horrible – especially for the women he abuses.
But Keith Olbermann should not take his social and sexual frustrations out ad hoc on others because he can’t find peace with himself – can’t get no satisfaction.
Hey Keith! You have no penis and we know it! Now stop trashing women!
Hillary is going to be the nominee, and the next President of the United States. Keep putting this positive belief out into the universe. Do not let the media decide our thoughts or our actions. I repeat, HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON, will be the next President of the United States.
It is the two-party system that is destroying this country. Let whoever feels he is the best candidate run for presidency. Nobody should be pressured by peer or politics to support a party candidate just for the sake of conformity
“Bill Clinton did not explain who he was accusing of “covering up” Sen. Clinton’s chances.”
“Clinton did not expound on who he was accusing.”
AAAHHHHHHHH!HA!HA!HA!
What exactly is the conspiracy and who is in on it Bill?
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/national.html
I have always loved Big Dawg. I thought I would never have another POTUS in my lifetime who connected with and truly cared about the PEOPLE. And then came Hillary. Perhaps in the beginning the Dem leadership (aka cabal of dunces) thought they could wrap things up quickly before any of the PEOPLE caught on to the fact that the race was being rigged for Obama and had been setup for him to win as early as 06 (04??). The weighting of certain minorities over others. Rural areas worth less than urban cities. Gee the convention being timed with the anniversary of the I Have a Dream speech.
But something funny happened on the way to the convention. The voters saw the real Hilary. When all the glamour and polish is rubbed away and the DNC released the hounds to tear her down and take her out of the race (Pelosi, Leahy, Dodd, Kerry, Kennedy et al), Hillary fought them off and stood back up. The media tore her apart and she did it again, faced that mad dog Russert, who I would say actually foamed at the mouth in that ‘debate’ in which the audience actually rolled with laughter at the alleged ‘tape error’ in clips they played, what is this This is Your Life or a frakkin discussion for the PEOPLE to make a decision on who best represents our needs and our nation? rhetorical question, we all know. Whatever they try, we dig our heels in further for HILLARY. She is the one for us, the workers, the families, the educated class who can still relate to the middle, we all choose Hillary.
We are past the point of no return DEM LEADERS. Perhaps you got the bright idea from seeing the GOP steal at last one election, or perhaps Rove gave it directly to Queen Donna Brazile since she tells us male GOP are better friends to her than any Dem was.
I dont know and I dont care anymore.
Here is the point. IT IS TOO LATE TO STEAL THIS NOMINATION CABAL, THE PEOPLE SEE WHAT YOU ARE DOING. THE PEOPLE WANT HILLARY. WE THE DEMOCRATIC PEOPLE aka voters, REMEMBER US?
GOP, a word please. We in this capitalist society, we worker ants, are relatively content. I know I am. All I want is to support my family, give my kids a better life, an education, have health care and decent housing and food costs, oh and a yearly raise that beats the cost of living is a great thing too. BUT THE PEOPLE ARE AWAKE RIGHT NOW TO THE BLATANT THEFT THAT THE DEMS ARE TRYING TO PULL OFF. If the GOP fails to tell the voters the TRUTH about Obama, and this dangerous person gets into office, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.
DEM LEADERSHIP- EVERY single person I talk to in my daily life talks about the election, and every single one talks about how the FIX IS IN and the party is trying to steal this nomination. GOP, Indies, Dems-all of them agree. All of them ALSO agree Obama is dangerous, either through his naivite or his hidden agendas depending on who you are talking to.
GOP AND DEM LEADERS-The biggest thing you should pay attention to IMO, is that working class Americans are afraid of Obama and his motivations and his plans. Call it what you will, I no longer care, for me it is frakkin common sense, the guy changes tone, message, affectation like the chameleon man in that Woody Allen film. Working class voters have a gut feeling telling them this man is dangerous and does not represent them or care about them or even have one iota of respect for them or their lives or their needs. We know when someone doesnt get us. And what is worse we know when someone DOESNT CARE TO TRY TO ‘GET’ US.
Now I know Americans may seem to have slept through the past two elections, but frankly, many of us thought things would at least be secure under GOP, and were busy trying to survive the past 8 years as the economy spiraled downhill. But as the Fed bails out Bear Stearns and the Fed kept cutting rates lower than they had any business doing, while Greenspan and Bernancke whistled in the dark, and Wall St found a new toy, Housing to play with, we have now had inflation hit levels where we are choosing whether we should buy a gallon of milk for $4.00 or try to get enough gas in the tank to get to work. Our housing values have plummeted and millions of us are upside downs on our loan to value ratio now. Into this step three candidates, Hillary, Obama and McCain.
Hillary has risen above every challenge, the bar raised so many times for her candidacy that is it a skit on SNL. She has, as a wonderful woman told her in her town hall in TX, been polished like gold on the top of the mountain. Whether you believe her message is real or not doesnt matter, WE THE WORKING CLASS BELIEVE IN HILLARY, WE TRUST HER, WE NEED HER, at this point WE LOVE HER. Hilary has connected with us and we are in serious trouble right now and we are CLINGING TO HILLARY, OUR GUNS AND OUR BIBLES.
Lets look at the other 2 candidates, we have Obama, with little to no experience, a record for his state that is pathetic, more shootings there than US fatalities in Iraq, last month IIRC (can Code Pink do a Chicago intervention?)last week or so had highest gas in the nation, and an education system in trouble, with rampant poverty, horrific low cost housing he helped Rezko build and crime out of control, his connections are scary to Americans and we dont know the half of it, his church is racist, period, his inability to distance himself from shady characters shows us he cares more about getting ahead than about doing the right thing, period. He has no discernible ideology other than what is good for Barry that day is good. This guy has made more deals with more people to get into power, the number of potential VPs alone he has hanging on a string is indicative of the way he rolls. IMHO he is a trojan horse filled with various elements who DO NOT LOVE AMERICA AND DO NOT WANT WHAT IS BEST FOR AMERICA EITHER BY INTENT OR THROUGH THEIR OWN SELFISHNESS.
Then we have McCain, a middle of the road GOP who has brought nothing home to AZ and is proud of it, and who is a genuine war hero. I believe him to be moderate and at first I thought Obama will go down in flames in a GE and the MSM will crown McCain, it is wrong, I hate it but we ca survive 4 yrs of this and then have Hilary to fix things in 2012.
Now the working class has seen something more unsettling in the air. It is starting to seem as though the MSM wont flip and be in the tank for McCain in a GE, and the numbers of depressed GOP and DEM voters who do not vote in the GE may allow Obama to win a GE. THIS WOULD BE TRAGIC FOR AMERICA AND I WILL BLAME NOT JUST THE STUPID DEMS BUT THE GOP WHO LET IT HAPPEN.
Rupert Murdochs daughter is for Obama, Soros is pouring money like water into the country for Obama, SDs are being bought, Obama has a creepy door to door voter registration drive over the summer, perhaps the first step in having Chicago style, vote dead, vote homeless, vote twice, made national.
GOP-What will happen to the worker ants if Obama gets into power? What will Hamas, Iran, Medyvev do? How will Israel feel? An arms race in the Middle East is what will happen. What will Brezinski, Lake, Powers, get us into? What about Obama’s planned hike in cap gains and SS payroll taxes? What will American workers do faced with inability to buy food and fuel and an imbroglio of foreign actions at once..
GOP: worker ants still account for 70% of US GDP, If you are listening if you are watching if you are holding info, please rethink this. American workers are afriad, we arent productive when we are scared for our families. Obama scares us. Call Jeff Immelt at GE ask him what his plans are, I dont think he will tank it for McCain as you expect. Hillary may not be your favorite person, but you KNOW SHE WILL KEEP AMERICA SAFE. You know she will be MODERATE. Hillary will raise the cap gains to Big Dawg POTUS levels. Hillary is AGAINST SS PAYROLL TAX HIKES.
She will work WITH BUSINESS to get health care done WISELY. Big business tells us that outsourcing occurs in large part due to health care costs, workers raises are disproportionately going to pay higher health insurance premiums. This time around big business is all for universal health care and small business will get tax credits from Hillary. American workers will HAPPILY TAKE THEIR HEALTH CARE PLAN, the same health care plan millions of postal workers get now, and we will WORK FOR ANOTHER 4 GENERATIONS WITHOUT A WORD OF DISSENT.
JUST GIVE US HILLARY AND WE’LL KEEP TRUCKIN ALONG. But be advised if you let Obama steal the nomination, you will share the blame as well as the financial fallout that will surely follow. I have never seen people as upset as they are right now. Whatever secret special plan the DNC Cabal of dunces had it is blown. Please let the people have their chosen candidate, not the Manchurian cabal’s elitist wet dream come true. I would be willing to wager that American working class Democrats would be willing to give you certain seats in Congress if you gave us Hillary. We have lists of the SDs who have sold out or who were willing to bend over for the cabal and we will make sure they hear us in the voting booth in November.
Sorry this was long, but I sometimes think with all the machinations and plots and counterplots that perhaps you in the GOP and DEM leadership forget that the sheeple produce 70% of our GDP. THE PEOPLE need to feel safe and secure and cared for to continue to work. I am not ashamed to be in the working class, we love our country and we work damn hard all our olives, we deserve leadership that cares about us, understands us, respects us and protects us. Hillary and McCain are the only candidates running who meet those criteria.
GOP and DEM leadership, I know you operate in something of a bubble, and you may be unaware of how things are being perceived on the ground so to speak, but let me illustrate. I live in a very well to do suburb in AZ, a friend of mine, who is very well off, buys his European cigarettes on the reservation. He always sees plenty of handguns and rifles on the walls for sale. Last weekend he went in and the guns WERE ALL GONE, the walls were full of musical instruments. He asked the Native American what the deal was with the change. The man told him the guns are selling out daily, people are afraid because of the election and then he looked sad and said, and the music, it has stopped.
Pay attention and please make the right decision for America and the American people.
