More Bad News for Michelle Obama

I know for a fact that Barack and Michelle Obama would like the tape of her blasting “whitey” during a rant at Jeremiah Wright’s church to never see the light of day. They are worried, appropriately so, about the damage this tape will inflict on the Obama campaign. They can be certain of one thing–the tape will hit the blogosphere and TV land come October if Obama is the nominee.

How do I know? I have learned from someone in touch with a senior Republican over this holiday weekend that a major McCain backer has a copy of the tape in addition to the one controlled by the Karl Rove folks. McCain’s supporters are not about to cut Hillary a break. They believe that John McCain stands a better chance of beating Barack rather than Hillary. That’s why they are holding the video. They realize showing it now would likely boost support for Hillary and erode support for Obama among the Super Delegates. Simply put, McCain wants Obama.

Then there is the angry woman problem. Here’s Michelle–living in a $1.6 million dollar home, graduate of America’s most prestigious universities, and pulling a six-figure salary–and she was not proud of the United States until Barack ran for President. Know what? The average angry, bitter white person. who is clinging to God and guns and not living in a mansion, not able to afford college, and making less than $50,000 a year, does not know what her damn problem is.

Jeff Jacoby’s column yesterday in the Boston Globe adds further insight:

In an interview on ABC, Obama growled that Republicans “should lay off my wife,” and described the inoffensive Tennessee video as “detestable,” “low class,” and reflecting “a lack of decency.”

If Republicans “think that they’re going to try to make Michelle an issue in this campaign,” he added ominously, “they should be careful.”

Ooh, very fierce. But unless Obama is prepared to emulate Jackson – Old Hickory defended his wife’s honor by fighting duels, in one of which he killed a man – he stands no chance of putting his wife’s remarks off-limits to criticism. As long as he keeps sending her around the country to campaign on his behalf, everything she says is – and should be – fair game.

And unfortunately for Obama and his allegedly sunny politics of hope, what Mrs. Obama seems to say with grim regularity is that America is a scary, bleak, and hopeless place.

Here she is, for instance, in Wisconsin:

“Life for regular folks has gotten worse over the course of my lifetime, through Republican and Democratic administrations. It hasn’t gotten much better.”

And in South Carolina:

America is “just downright mean” and “guided by fear . . . We have become a nation of struggling folks who are barely making it every day.”

Michelle needs an attitude adjustment. Americans don’t want a nattering nabob of negativism in their face for the next four years. And that will become increasingly clear as America gets to know Michelle.

hey larry,

what i find interesting, is how axelrod and friends, were able to paint hillary as the ’shrew’, as the nagging wife, and the overbearing mother you never wanted.

they were able to build a whole school of hate around that image of hillary, most young men and unfortunately women bought into it.

really the videos should have been about michelle, and her overbearing, school marm,
authoritarian personality.
hillary is a doll compared to that…

Comment by Deb Cupples | 2008-05-26 13:39:10

God, no kidding. And Hillary actually REALLY cares about other people, not just what SHE feels and wants.

Comment by no waffles | 2008-05-26 13:07:53

Hi Larry, I am new here and thank you for this site.

Question, perhaps naive, do you think the supers and DNC know about the tape, and if they do, do they believe it exists? Or are they just ignoring it?

Comment by chris | 2008-05-26 14:08:30

I concur. I have gotten more than my overdose of mysogyny this campaign to have it continue in this form. My own mother called Michelle Obama this term and I asked her, “is it any different to call her that when many rightfully object to calling Hillary that term, or you for that matter, or your mother?”….she quickly responded, “yes its different, she’s a different sort of bitch”. I’ll leave that to mom, but none the less….

my grandmother embraced that word actively. she had teeshirts, mugs, bumper stickers, and more. But call my wife, mom, or daughter those names and you’ll be pickin yourself up for it.

Comment by tootsky | 2008-05-26 16:33:47

Quoting Spiro Agnew. Awesome!

And its perfectly fine to ask objectively McCarthyite questions, in Larry Johnson’s fantasy world, so long as the phrase bitch is not used.

Roy Cohn is smiling down on you.

Why do not ask Hillary? after all, if Obama is a big busness man and communist (yes, I have read it here), I am sure she is a nice, NO-big business anti-communist and would help her “white brother”

After all, why Hillary, who has more than 100 000 000 bucks,is a Senator and studied in schools for elite is not happy about her being discriminated as a woman? Or she is happy with women’s status in USA?

Comment by TheViking | 2008-05-26 23:50:44

I can’t stand this passive aggressive pass the buck attitude.

Hillary is NOT THE ONE SAYING THIS STUFF!

Geez…

Comment by lidia | 2008-05-27 02:32:47

I.e. Hillary is NOT saying that she is all for poor whites? I found it is just ridiculouse when her supporters (and calling themselves names like “workingclass”) attack OTHERS for being rich, as if Hillary was wating tables to put herself through college. If Obama is rich (he is, and I am NOT for him at all), Hillary is SUPER rich. You might love her for it, but a bit of logic would be helpful here (just like to decide whether Obama is a man of big business or a communist :) )

Comment by Robert T. | 2008-05-26 13:18:14

Wish I had a dime for everytime I’ve come across the word “bitch” being used to describe Michelle Obama on this “pro-Hillary” site.

So much for the oh-so-righteous indignation about all the so-called sexism supposedly directed at the racist Hillary Clinton and her campaign. It was a running theme through her campaign, covert and otherwise, and is well-documented in the public record. Never heard Barack crying and complaining about it either. Sure pissed me off though and was the reason I finally decided I could not in good conscience, support Hillary.

I never condoned attacking Chelsea in any way and always condemned it when I saw it. As far as going after Hillary’s husband, President William Jefferson Clinton? Fair game. After all, the ever-ambitious Hillary relies on her husband’s name and connections in her own political calculations and always has.

Just as some have pointed out here, when Michelle makes political speeches, she must expect appropriate scrutiny of the speeches and her fair share of criticism. On many levels though, this site is extremely biased and often uses offensive codewords when talking about the Obamas.

It is not a neutral or credible source of information on either of these Democratic candidates.

Comment by jes | 2008-05-26 13:37:03

Funny, how you’re complaining about MO being called sexist names and then you thinks it’s appropriate to call Hillary a racist. Rather convoluted thinking, and hypocritical to boot. A double standard at work here.

And quite frankly, to call someone else a racist when your candidate gets + 90% of the black vote, simply because of your candidate’s race, is not the brightest strategy. Actually, I would say the shoe is on the other foot and Obama and his supporters are the real racists in this campaign. Another example of hypocrisy.

Comment by jes | 2008-05-26 13:37:44

Comment by Susie | 2008-05-27 14:14:48

Amen. I am so sick of the Clintons being called racists. They are probably the most fair minded people in politics when it comes to race and gender. And the remark about 90% of the AAs voting for BO because of his color is spot on.

The PC term might be, “civility challenged,” eh?

Since the dumbing down of America started and the government THREW money at anyone with 2 X chromosomes for Education, I have, in 5 or so years in Higher ED administartion, seen between 50 and 100 angry black women just like Winnie Mandela …er, Michelle Obama.

Their complaints are so similar and their tones and attitudes so congruent that they might all be reading from the same script.

In other words, I have seen her kind often in the last 25 years. And they are ugly – acting people.

Comment by Sam | 2008-05-26 21:25:17

You should have to deal with these types in the workplace! They are angry, petulant, and refuse to learn anything. Any form of instruction is “disrespecting” them. They could care less about doing a good job and are always and forever setting employers up for lawsuits. Those angry kids that took up all of your teachers time in school? They don’t change at all once they “grow-up.” BO wants them all to get big raises ASAP.

I’m a Democrat, and a Hillary supporter, but last night when I watched the PBS Memorial Day concert, I kept thinking that Colin Powell would make a great president—not to mention a much better role model than the Obamas for young AAs. If Obama is going to be the Democratic nominee, I wish that McCain could get Powell as a running mate.

Comment by Strawberry | 2008-05-26 16:18:17

Oy, not the old WMD argument again. Dude, I have a Stars and Stripes (sent to me by my husband in Iraq when he was there)around here dated from 2004 where the US ARMY proclaims NO WMD’s. Powell came out and said that the UN speech was one of the biggest mistakes of his life. I use to admire powell, but as a military family member, I can’t forgive him for not fighting harder to keep us out of Iraq. My family and scores of others are paying the price for Powell not having a stronger spine.

Have you been paying any attention? Powell has been advising Obama and has said many positive things about him. He may even endorse him.

Here, he talks about his he is excited by Obama’s campaign and impressed with him.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/tavis-smiley/gen-colin-powell-on-the-_b_80353.html

And one of the reasons Powell didn’t run is because his wife was worried about his safety and the kind of personal attacks this site specializes in.

Have any of you actually seen Michelle Obama speak in person? I have, and the picture painted here is incredibly distorted.

She is a better, more inspiring, and more positive speaker than he is.

You just take comments out of context and make ad-hominem attacks. You’d be rightly outraged if Obama suppoters used this kind of sexist language about Senator Clinton.

Comment by no waffles | 2008-05-26 13:50:59

I second that emotion! Michael Nutter would make an excellent candidate for Prez. There are many other “credible” candidates that come to mind. BO is NOT one of them.

Once upon a time, over a year ago, I was very open to BO. But, when he and his surrogates began the Hillary/Bill –”you’re a racist” bashing 24/7, and other disgusting maneuvers taken straight out of the Neo-con Talking Points, he became completely intolerable to me. Add to that, his inexperience, blind ambition, race-card shenanigans, and terrorist-loving, Rev. Wright I-hate-America friends — his inability to be prez. became vastly apparent.

She and her hubby oppose Universal Health Care – what if millions are left to suffer so long as the self-serving Oblamers get theirs?

They attend a Black Liberation Church (unity?) and announce his candidacy for Senate in the living room of terrorists Ayers and Dohrn.

With that said… if you are sincerely appalled at misogynistic, sexist behavior and language, then you should stop the LOL! and move on to the gazillion other blogs where Hillary is ripped to shreds 24/7. I hate to think that but it is becoming more obvious that the DNC wants to lose. I know McCaskill is married to a republican. Arianna and Kos are “former” neo cons. McCain was Kerry’s first choice for vp. Who else in the DNC “leadership” would benefit by helping the republicans win?

Comment by beebop | 2008-05-26 14:02:30

They are all making money. No one wants to investigate big oil or wall street or the hospitals … that is why they are dumping so much money into the BO campaign. Forget “China” being the banker. Its a heck of a lot closer than that. They want to control who gets investigated and frog marched …. follow the money.

A crime (yielding a Warrant) or a Civil Action (yielding a Subpoena)?

Expecting Law Enforcement and/or the Executive Branch to do one’s dirty work is pretty much a Republican Core Value.

(see: “Watergate”)

Comment by TeakWoodKite | 2008-05-26 12:47:32

Andy, BO’s camp doesn’t need a tape ’cause they exactly what is on the tape. BO knows about it because he has been witness to what has purportedly said. The SD’s have heard the scuttlebutt…

This a freight train that even Casey Jones can’t stop.

If BO and his MO don’t know about the political version of the Miranda rights they are about to find out the hard way.

Just saw a “lead out” in on Fox about Ayers and his wife…in relation to BO.

BO does not have a leg to stand on if he thinks the Tennessee production shows “a lack of decency.”

I agree with Mr. Johnson, that one may have a personal view about MO but calling her what her husband thinks she is is not helpful to Senator Clinton. Yeah I know I wondered were the leash was for BO, guilty as charged.

The real damage is the second tape of “BO controversial” that Mr. Johnson alluded to. Larry used the word ‘coniption’ which I thought I would never hear in a political context, but “controversial” is being kind.

These two (Obama and Michelle) are gonna flush America down the toilet. This past weekend, we witnessed once again America’s might and leadership in space science, which as you know often leads to humanistic developments in other areas (smoke alarms, pace makers, food storage, etc). Yet, Barrack and his angry bitter wench are willing to set aside these thrilling breakthroughs for myopic Marxist ideals.

Watch out, Whitey. Michelle and Obama are morally bankrupt and intellectually lazy. If it were up to them we would still be picking lice off each other’s body in the name of equality and justice. They are not driven by lofty visions, but by the plagiarized reasoning of mental midgets.

Comment by Mr.Murder | 2008-05-26 13:52:15

Is that a parody troll? Some horrid imagery you try to extoll, a thinly veiled attempt to discredit the conversation.

Comment by beebop | 2008-05-26 14:04:51

He is absolutely right that BO wants to stop space programs. They amount to less than 1.5 percent of the budget … it makes no sense. He is no JFK or RFK when it comes to lofty thinking …

Comment by bigkitty | 2008-05-26 14:17:50

If it is an attempt to make the arguments against Obama look absurd, he’s failing.

With those two, already a self parody, it’s the truth, he’s proving the opposition argument, perhaps inadvertently.

He’s corrupt, he deals with terrorists, some of whom murder his own countrymen.

Does it get much worse?

To anyone growing up in Chicago, this is not a surprise, the entitlement of corruption spread to the electoral process, what is a surprise is the obtuse notion no one will care.

I saw one of his short-list guys…..is it Crist?

Anyway, the governor of Florida.

He’s super-attractive….a true silver-haired foxy guy. I pictured women of a certain age melting all over the country.

And his rhetorical skills? Omigod….the man is GOOD!

By the end of his speech, I had forgotten entirely that the Republicans were actually responsible for the FL Dem problem. I did, indeed, picture Dean slinking around Washington in a trench coat, stealing votes from old ladies and putting kids out on the street.

LOL*….

He would be a fabulous running mate. Very Republican when he needs to be. Very “all male” when he needs to be. He might allow McCain to take a softer approach, which is an odd part of his politics.

He’s hot-tempered, but often more liberal. Crist is a cool cucumber, but often more conservative.

Good yin-yang.

Look for the Rezko verdict, hopefully before June 3.
Rezko will turn states evidence and rat out Obama and the Gov to save his skin.

I think the Obamas have absolutely no idea what they are in for. It’s part of the inexperience. In Chicago, everything came Obama’s way.

Some of us get criticized for bringing up family matters as they might bear on an Obama candidacy, but we are shampoo compared to what the Republicans will load onto the heads of this couple.

Comment by J | 2008-05-26 11:40:25

Larry, Susan,

what i find upsetting regarding both mccain and obama, is that the both of them are promoting a british orchestrated scheme that would take away u.s. sovereignty and amalgamate the u.s. into the british empire. the ‘league of democracies’ that both mccain, and obama are spouting is nothing more than a rehash of the 1938 british plan designed to ‘absorb’ the u.s., erase u.s. national sovereignty and carry out britain’s wars against targeted nations in africa, asia, etc..

the british ‘league of democracies’ is contained in a 1938 book by clarence streit ‘union now: a proposal for a federal union of the democracies of the north atlantic.’ streit wanted the u.s., our currency and our military to be ‘amalgamated’ with the british empire as the center of a world government that would impose its will by the use of armed force. in other words a british empire dictatorship founded on the spilling of american military blood and american treasure. streit was a leader of the milner group, they setup britain’s imperial strategy in the early 20th century, the group that was run by lord lothain – the old cecil family/rhodes organization. lord lothan, was a top strategist for the pro-nazi faction, and instructed streit to create a propaganda network inside the u.s. spawning the atlantic movement, led in the u.s. by pro-hitler financiers and headed by lord lothian inside britain. lothian made an agreement with adolf hitler in their 1935 and 1937 conversations where they set up the objectives of the proposed ‘league’ that they should stop non-white countries from getting industrial power, as hitler put it they they should ‘prevent…. their nationals from assisting in the industrializing of countries such as china and india. it is suicidal to promote the establishment in the agricultural countries of asia of manufacturing industries.’ such a league’s agenda today would include invading the sudan and former burma (myanmar) and prepping for war against russia and china. in 1999 british former pm tony blair demanded the league of democracies project be reinstated.

u.s. presidential candidate/senator john mccain called for the british-spawned league of democracies in his march 26 08 speech to a los angeles world affairs council.

obama’s foreign policy adviser anthony lake co-chaired the princeton project on national security, whose financial report renamed the league the ‘concert of democracies’ and called for wiping out u.s. national sovereignty under the world rule of force.

obama’s other foreign policy adviser ivo daadler called for the same same in his joint washington post column with neocon mccain adviser robert kagan august 6 07. both daadler and lake remain steadfast for the british scheme.

I certainly could not vouch for any detail in J’s post. However, the notion of a New World Order orchestrated by British financial interests not only has been around a while but also comes from different directions. By that I mean.. basically the same story, different sources.

The source I personally give the most credence to is the late Malachi Martin, a former Jesuit priest who was involved in Vatican II before he requested a dispensation from some of his vows. He seemed to accept many of the same theories that a number of Christian fundamentalists have espoused. These individuals were concerned primarily with covert attacks on the Christian religion, and for Malachi, the Catholic Church, in particular. The political and financial aspects were remotely secondary for him.

Personally, I think in the general outline, these ideas make sense and shouldn’t be dismissed offhandedly as stupid conspiracy theories.

Something covert, if not sinister, is behind Obama’s candidacy…and I mean beyond the usual since politics is a filthy, dirty business.

These days people don’t know who to believe or what to believe. So we have to rely on our own personal experiences as often as not. My own personal experience leads me to believe that there is indeed some special hidden relationship between Great Britain and the US that has to do with finances, technology, and energy.

I would bet my life on it and I am interested to learn what anyone has to say about the subject.

The North American Alliance / “free Trade Zone” is is attempting to build a superhighway cutting America in two. The conflict between Nationalism and Globalism will be the firing pin for the powder keg we are sitting on.

NJ,

i wish that it were paranoia. until the candidates in question distance themselves from carrying the flag for a foreign power whomever the foreign power may be, americans are going to continue growing angrier and angrier. mccain is carrying the flag for two foreign powers, obama by his advisors (lake and daadler)’actions’, is carrying flag for a foreign power with their embrace for the british empire orchestrated ‘league of democracies’.

americans do not wear the military uniform of the united states to be used and abused as patsies on behalf of any foreign power, and the sooner that our politicans wake up to this fact, the better. the 1938 book by streit is ‘real’, the british who promoted and financed the debacle known as nazi germany were/are real, the same british promoters have not changed their ultimate game plan, only their propaganda and modified their methods.

this is not an attack on a foreign nation, it’s merely bringing to the surface what is there and what the politicans like both mccain and obama hope that we the voter public are not aware of.

Michelle is half right. My life has gone downhill in the last eight years. I haven’t had a decent raise since Bill Clinton left office. Healthcare expenses have skyrocketed. Groceries have gone up a lot more than the government admits, and I can barely afford to drive back and forth to work. And I have a pretty good job compared to most of my neighbors.

However, in the nineties, I got great raises, groceries were cheap, healthcare was beginning to be a problem, but nothing like it is now. And the schools were better. Bill Clinton would never have allowed the degradation of our civil liberties and would not have dragged us into an unjust and illegal war.

So, her whole Republican AND DEMOCRATIC ADMINISTRATIONS have caused this mess story is a FLAT OUT LIE, and she needs to shut the hell up. She and her husband need to stop dissing the best President we’ve had in fifty years. To continually say that Bill Clinton was a failure is bullshit.

If Hillary is not the nominee we WILL help the republicans bury the Hamas approved mascot. Spare us the unity crap…everything about Obama’s past and present is anti-Democrat and anti-American.

I truly believe that Larry and Susan are doing their best now, at what feels like a late hour, to give the Democrats a chance to think twice about what is going on. We need to do that or we are done as a party. It is no time to be polite (although I agree that avoiding put-downs devoid of content remains a good rule of thumb.) Where we are now is beyond even the Mad Hatter’s tea party.

I give them both considerable credit for stirring up and exposing the elephants (or is it donkeys?) in the room because too few are doing it. Most are afraid of being attacked. I admire their courage.

Susan stood up to the hate on the Orange Stain when she would write a Pro Hillary Diary. Susan kept coming back and posting the TRUTH. The Obamabots were and still are uncivilized, rude, sexist idiots about anything dealing with Senator Clinton.

The few times that I went to the Orange Stain and saw a diary by Susan — I would make a positive comment — but it was like fighting a cult. And that is what the Obamabots are — cult members.

Now it seems the Obamabot cultist have followed Susan home — hopefully with the new user registration the Obamabots can be controlled or identified.

Anyway Larry and Susan are to be commended for their dedication to telling the truth.

J — that theory is nuts.

Yeah, there was a not-terribly-popular movement in the 19th century and early 20th century for a US/UK amalgamation. The idea was even mentioned in one of the Sherlock Holmes stories. (Sherlock favored it.)

But…it’s ancient history.

Nothing like this will ever happen.

I feel pretty damned confident that Obama never gave the concept any thought.

This sounds like the sort of anti-Brit paranoia one hears from the LaRouchies. They tend to view Zbigniew Bzezinski as a pawn of Britain. Of course, they say that about anything and anyone they dislike. Zbig is indeed an evil bastard — but his focus has always been on Russia.

But, NOW, that her hubby is running for president, for the first time ‘in her adult life she’s really proud of her country’. What she’s saying – and we’ve known it all along (even tho’ she and the Obama sheep deny it), is that NOW – this ’special democrat’ (Barack Obama) will fix the WHOLE world’s ills; therefore, THAT is why she’s finally proud of her country. And the sad thing is, the whites – whom she hates and thinks are all racists -are the very ones helping her husband win. Too many people really are blind sheep and easily deceived.

I doubt the existence of this ‘whitey’ tape. Has anyone seen it!? When something seems too good to be true, it usually turns out to be a legend/myth.

But, let’s say for sake of arguement that it is real. I’m skeptical it would make a bit of difference especially in Oct. The people who love Obama will walk through fire for him. They won’t buy into it. They’ll say the Republicans made it up or it’s a fake. Or Obama will use his jedi mind tricks (or David Axelrod’s) to wiggle out of it by giving a speech that the main stream media will eat up and hype as the greatest thing ever spoken in the history of speech.

October is too late to realease. The MSM will not let their hero go down like this. If any video does exist, the window of impact should be very soon after Obama is crowned the nominee. That’s when the Democrats are the most vulnerable because they won’t all be united behind Obama.

From a tactical view, I think the Dems in chaos (which would come from the offical Obama nominee revealed for what he trully is after it is too late to change anything) is a better plan for the Republicans than for trying to expose Michelle Obama’s true side late in Oct. I’m sure though, that Karl Rove has it covered and it will all work out in the end somehow/someway.

From Corrente yesterday:

Readers, I am not kidding. Get a load of this trial balloon from the UK. Times Online. [I’ve deleted the lying liar material on Hillary’s remarks before the Argus editorial board]. And keep reading, because you’ll love the sweetener:

Barack Obama wants Bill to heal Hillary Clinton wounds
Barack Obama, the probable Democratic presidential nominee, wants Bill Clinton to help him heal the deep party rifts created by his wife Hillary’s divisive campaign…

“If anybody can put their arms around the party and say we need to be together, it is Bill Clinton,” a senior Obama aide said.

And Bill gets?

But look, I thought that Obama was the one with the Unity Pony? But now it’s Bill Clinton? Then why’d you smear him as a racist? WTF? Is Obama’s Unity Pony on back order too? Then how’d Bill Clinton get one?

“He’s brilliant, he has got heart and he cares deeply about the country. It’s tricky because of his position as Hillary’s spouse, but his involvement is very important to us.”

And Bill gets?

“Bill Clinton will give permission to Hillary supporters to come into our camp and become one party.

Er, no. We’re not a cult. Or a movement. We don’t “need permission.” You asshole.

He is critical to this effort.”

Yes, Barack Obama now expects Bill Clinton to bring the Party back together, because he is not cpaable of doing that himself. And in return Bill Clinton gets back the love of the AA community, that Obama stole. The man has a lot of nerve.

LARRY..WAS THE ROBERT KENNEDY STORY A SET UP?????

at “talk left” they were discussing that the NYPost blog was the first place to post the Hillary /Kennedy story…and that “Politico” really ran with the story..and that today they are back tracking a little saying NYpost reported it first.

Well it tripped off a memory of something that happened Friday that o thought at the time was very weird..

In Tampa Friday..on Tampa Bay News 9 a local all day newscast ..in the afternoon the newscaster started a push for “POLITOCO WEB SITE”…The guy went on and on about Politico web site and go there if you are a political junkie that it is the best web site ..with all the national credible journalists on it..

This guy really went on and on about that web site..then finally said if you don’t go to Politico then go to Bay News 9 political web site ..

ok this whole scene really caught my eye and I was thinking at the time..this is unusual for Bay News 9 to be pushing a political web site..beside their own.

But what is weird ..here is ..Obama was here in Tampa Wednesday…

and what story broke friday afternoon on Politico..the hillary/kennedy story..

coinsidence?????

I bet not..anyone wanna bet the local news guys were told..watch Politico Friday????????

So little local news guy in Tampa tells people to start reading Politico on Friday afternoon……..

Larry …this was no coinsidence..this was a totally planted story..and lots of people were tipped off about it!!

The obamacreature needed a front page controversial story…and they set it up for a holiday weekend.

And Obama creature needs Fla Superdelegates..especially the AA ones here in the Tampa area..

please understand this was not a coinsidence..someone needs to question these Tampa Bay News 9 guys..if they were told the stroy ahead of time..and that Politico was going to break a big story Friday!!

Larry, we’ve been burned by the Republicans before on matters like “the tape.” What about the rumors of Kitty Dukakis burning a U.S. Flag during her salad days? Funny how no real proof ever surfaced on that, wasn’t it? Or the Swiftboat Veterinarians spinning a web of hearsay out of a whole lotta nothing? Oh, SUUUURRRRRREEEEE, they won’t release “the tape” until October! Gotta keep the spin going as long as they can until they QUIETLY DROP the whole thing and say, “BLLEEEE A BLEEEE A BLEEEE, THAT’S ALL, FOLKS!”

Remember that the hallmark of any good scam is to tell The Mark what he wants to hear–that way his own personal motivation will do most of the work for you by shutting down his critical thinking. Remember “The Honey Trap” as a tried and true method of entrapment? You just need to prepare yourself for the very real possiblility that on November 5 you could be flat on your back like Charlie Brown after Lucy jerks that football away for the umpteenth time. Hey, I’m not saying that “the tape” DOESN’T exist, just that you are dealing with some very unscrupulous people who don’t give A DAMN about what getting politically scammed will do to your credibility. You may think you’re being careful, but I don’t think you can be careful enough on something like this when the quality of the Intelligence you’re judging is filtered through a highly emotional bias.

Ask yourself this–how much do you WANT “the tape” to be proved to exist?

Comment by Five Thirty | 2008-05-26 13:05:58

Comment by Larry Johnson | 2008-05-26 13:13:30

I would agree with you except for one important point. I have two friends. One is a Democrat and one is a republican. One lives on the west coast and one lives on the east coast. They do not know each other. Yet each has spoken directly with someone who has seen the tape. That’s why i think it is real.

Comment by Bill | 2008-05-26 13:32:50

Comment by jes | 2008-05-26 14:06:16

I doubt that Larry Johnson would put his credibility on the line if the tape did not exist.

If you truly believe there could not be a tape, why are you not defending MO? I believe that is because you know that MO is fully capable of a racist rant against the white race. She adheres to the black liberation philosophy. The real question is, was she so foolish as to get caught on tape. It appears that is the case.

Comment by hillarysmygirl | 2008-05-26 16:15:25

The first time I saw her speak in public, I pegged her immediately. It wasn’t hard to envision such a hate-filled, angry woman ranting and ragging on everyone and everything in the privacy of her home or church, or with her friends. My mother-in-law does it. In public, she’s as sweet as can be, but get in the house, behind closed doors and watch out! Murder and rape didn’t happen when she was a kid, movies and television and books are for shit anymore, politicians are sneaky, manipulative and liars (except for her Messiah), the world is just a hideous place to be.

What I’m surprised about as well is if Michelle let herself get caught on tape. Although Sweetie let himself get caught putting down the “bitter, gun and religion clinging” hicks. So, who knows?

Bill respectfully, snap out of it.

Be selective in what you choose to give credence, as is reflected in what your critical thinking skills will allow for, but thinking, as BO does, that the “anger” of disenfranchised Dem’s “will go away” or the RNC has not spent big $$$ on oppo research since BO made his speech at the Dem convention and they are not in control of the National Communication systems is absurd.

I’ll believe Larry Johnson, that there is such a tape. Then the crime perpetrated against the American people is that the media isn’t investigating this, or questioning about it. Because Hillary Clinton is an absolute guarantee to beat McCain if she is nominated. She’s leading him in Kentucky, for heaven’s sake. She will win 320 electoral votes. Obama could very well lose, particularly with the tape. So this is very possibly affecting who becomes President, Clinton or McCain. This matters to all of us. How can the media sit there and allow Obama to get nominated before the tape comes out?

Why isn’t the DNC investigating this? Would they rather lose with Obama than win with Clinton? Is Dean going to just cry “racism” if such a tape comes out? This is the next four years of all of our lives. All efforts should be made to get this Michelle Obama tape story out in general circulation now, not when it’s too late for us and for the country.

However, tape or no tape Obama is unelectable. Despite the “hope” of his followers and fawners.

Nothing he could do between now and the GE, if he is the nominee, can “change” the fact that he, Michelle, Wright, Axelrod, et al have turned off or blown off enough of the electorate to defeat him.

Nevermind the fact that the Repub “show no mercy/to hell with PC” attack machine has not even started on him.

The DNC may be a bunch of masochistic defeat loving
fools, but HRC supporters are not. We like and support winners. Hence our adamant stance re HRC and Ol’ Bill, and our determination to never vote for Obama.

Shame on them. I am offended and I for one won’t let them deny the facts of the great administration of President Bill Clinton. Al Gore should have stepped up long ago and supported Hillary. I am really doubting him. As far as Michelle Obama being in the White House let along her dangerous husband, NO WAY. Hillary or McCain I don’t care how the media and Obama et al spin it. Crediting bill clinton in anyway would elevate Hillary in ther eyes.

THats why they had to tear Bill down, cast him as a racist and denigrate every aspect of his presidency.

THats the only way they can claim to be the CHange candidates who bring something new to the game.

In reality despite what he says about Reagan being transformative in ways that clinton presidency was not, Clinton’s presidency was just as transformative in different ways, but to give him credit for that would undermine their claim that only OBAMA can save us from our mean bitter small selves.

I hope he chokes an a god damned amerikkkan pretzel.

her name would remain on the ballot wouldnt it?

Comment by Jeremiah "God Damn AmeriKKKA" Wright | 2008-05-26 12:49:43

Hillary’s name wont be on the ballot if the DNC coronates Oblahblah.

THe only way she could get on the ballots is through registrating signature initiatives in each state well in advance of the process. And that would have to start immeadiately in august after the convention.

Many states may opt to use the popular vote tallies from the primaries in lue of her needing registered signatures, but the law would still require her to get them to get placed on the ballot.

Hillary deciding to run as an independent would require a massive massive organization at the grass roots in a very short time period.

She cant go away for june july august and september then suddenly come back in october. not enough time.

Michelle is only one of the many people in Obama’s life who hold very negative views of their country. As his wife, she best illustrates the troubling propensity Obama has to gravitate to those types. For all her complaining about her country, what has Michelle ever done for her country? For that matter, what has Obama ever done for his country?

Who knows what kind of people will have her ear if she gets in there. I’ve watched her in interview(s) and she is a truly threatening looking woman. She scares the hell out of me. I wouldn’t want to walk into her on the street and accidentally bump into her coming out of the grocery store. I think she would have a shit fit. She is not fit to be the representative of this country. Sorry!

Larry ….

Could this video, if validated, be used behind the scenes with the SuperDelegates?

Comment by LDW | 2008-05-26 13:15:53

I don’t need a video showing Michelle Obama railing against ‘Whitey’ to think she’d make a disastrous First Lady. In her speeches already on record, she’s shown herself to be a self-centered hypocrite with a vicious streak. Axelrod knows she polls badly with audiences and has tried to keep her away from the microphone, unless she’s reading from a carefully prepared script. Like her husband, Michelle Obama’s small ventures into off-the-cuff land have been uniformly disastrous.

People who actually look at Obama’s record and performance objectively have to be gravely concerned about the ignorance he has displayed about economics, foreign relations, domestic relations, healthcare, world geography, and even basic geography of the USA. As Senator from Illinois, he didn’t even realize that his state shares a border with Kentucky.

Added to that, Obama, the candidate for Change, has never pursued anything but an old-style Chicago backroom type of political campaign, and Obama the Washington Outsider has surrounded himself with lobbyists and political fixers.

So, people who have been paying attention to the facts, and not going along for the joyride of Hope and Change will already have serious reservations about Obama. Added to this is the fact that Obama allowed spurious charges of racism to be levelled at the Clintons by his operatives, and he stood by and said nothing while vile sexist language was used to degrade Clinton.

Obama never had the support of a large part of the electorate, and these people dislike him more and more as time goes by. Neither the Obamas nor Axelrod has denied the existence of the ‘Whitey’ tape. By itself, such a tape could be excused as youthful passion now soberly reconsidered. But added to all the other evidence that this pair have nothing positive to offer Americans, it could well be the coup de grace for Obama’s candidacy.

One can only hope the DNC takes the possibility of its existence seriously and acts accordingly.

Comment by Billy | 2008-05-26 13:15:59

This is such buIIsh*t. There is no such video. You think they’d be able to keep such a video to themselves with so many reporting to have seen it?

There is a video of Michelle saying “whitey” but she’s quoting an older woman, and chiding her for her backwards attitude. Maybe a creative edit would make it appear Michelle feels this way, but I guarantee the Obama campaign has the video and would expose the manipulation.

It would be incredibly destructive for the McCain campaign if they resorted to tactics like this.

It’s pitiful how you’re now grabbing at straws to keep alive Hillary’s campaign. Even to the point of making up stories. Sickos.

Then asked of Michelle:

If Clinton was the nominee, would you vote for her? long pause…“I don’t know, I’d have to think abou that!

This along with her injection of the race card continually during the campaign has made Michelle Obama fair game for anything! And what is Barry going to do when she is revealed? Cry in a corner again, after all this isn’t Democrat against Democrat! This is for all the marbles!

And a note, never once has Hilary ever stated anything against Michelle Obama, nor words like Michelle has towards Bill “I want to scratch his eyes out”, low lifes oare the Obama two! No way fit for POTUS peopleeeeeeee!

Thanks for the article, Larry. Also thanks for adding what Jeff Jacoby wrote. The statement made by Michelle, quoted below, has always been the one to raise red flags with me. I think Obama, Michelle, Axelrod and Co. want to change this country into something it was never meant to be. I will help anyone I’m able to help, within my circle of influence. But there is no way I’m giving my small piece of pie to MO or BO to “redistribute”.

“Barack Obama will require you to work. He is going to demand that you shed your cynicism. That you put down your divisions. That you come out of your isolation, that you move out of your comfort zone . . . Barack will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual – uninvolved, uninformed

If HRC is out of the race, some of that vitriol will, inevitably, pass to Mechelle. Anyone remember all the stuff said about HRC in ‘92? We’ll see the same stuff. I wonder if Mechelle bakes cookies?

Having said that, I don’t want to attack MO in gender-related ways. There’s just so much to attack her for otherwise: pride, “bad SATs” yet entry to Colombia, bump in salary after BO was “elected,” choice in churches, bad attitude and negativity. . .

This topic has been up before about a possible video of Michelle Obama, and the one thing that makes me believe that it exists is that the Republicans are the ONLY ones who would use it, and they want to hold it for the Fall! Hillary knows better–the MSM would crucify her if she did something like that, not to mention the Democratic Party.

Having said that, the one thing that I have noticed about ALL the comments, including the comments by Obama trolls, is that NO ONE even suggests that Michelle Obama is not capable of a racist diatribe. One person argues that she is “too sharp” to be caught on video blasting “whitey”, although she’s had her share of embarrassing videos just since this campaign started–certainly worse than anything out of Bill or Hillary, if you ask me (particularly that “first time” to be “proud” moment from Michelle). And there was an earlier poster who claimed that he had actually SEEN the video and that, taken in context, it was no big deal. Again, no one is claiming that Michelle does not have some hostility toward white people. The general question is whether she got caught on tape ranting about it.

That should speak volumes about Obama’s prospects in November, even WITHOUT this theoretical video. Of course, the bigger question is whether Michelle Obama is enough to derail Barack Obama’s candidacy for POTUS. My guess it that it is. Just think about the people who reacted in a negative way to Teresa Heinz Kerry and used that as a reason to vote for the chimp in 2004. And I still remember my own father refusing to vote for Dukakis because his wife was a Jew–a pathetic reason, if you ask me, but that’s the screwy things that some people think about when they vote.

Comment by sebastianguy99 | 2008-05-26 19:55:43

There is no tape. LJ is not the only person with contacts and resources. There is a rumor of a tape, but my sources inside the Republican party say they are looking high and low to keep the Rev. Wright angle going, as in tying Obama more closely to the sermons he said he never heard.

So far they don’t have bunk. Also Ms. Obama works for a high powered law firm and it is doubtful that she has been running around making such statements because of the career ending effect they would have.

Those of you who are lawyers know full well those who are Ms. Obama’s level within such a firm are anything but careless about their position and prospects within the firm.

You my not like her or her husband, but they are not stupid people as in stupid enough to be recorded saying explosive things as alleged in this piece.

Also the notion that they would rather face Clinton than Obama is not the consensus within the party. Most believe that Clinton would be easier to beat based on all the baggage and high unfavorables she carries. They also believe that Obama can win a state or two in the South whereas she will not win any southern states because of the deep hatred of the Clintons.

Clinton also provides a lighting rod to heal the fractures and spark turnover that Obama does not. They are scared that Obama will cut into the evangelical vote because he is seen as more authentic and comfortable about religion.

I get that this is an anti-Obama site, but there is nothing that indicates that the guy is going to be anything but tough to beat. So what he doesn’t get West Virginia/Kentucky, 30% of Democrats crossed over in 2000 and 2004 for Bush so to expect them to come to Clinton is false hope.

Nope, Obama is going to have to be beaten fair and square. The scare tactic so far have not worked in the congressional elections(see the recent special elections where candidates were tied to Obama) nor have they done much for Clinton. In fact, it seems that dirty tactics just makes the guy stronger. Just look at how his numbers have rebounded from the 6 weeks of Rev. Wright. Not only that, but his unfavorables have gone down.

So get ready to have to make a rational case to beat the guy because the emotional overwrought stuff ain’t doing the trick.

So

Obama can’t win while Hillary can.

Simple as that. You want proof? Here it is:

Hillary has 319 electoral votes to win the Presidency.
McCain has 202.

Obama and McCain both have been short of the 270 electoral votes to win.

Try This as to her employment:

Hope And Change My Ass: ‘Barack Obama Requested $1 Million Earmark For Michelle Obama’s Employer ‘
Topics: Political News and commentaries

In the list of earmarks requested by Barack (Hope and Change) Obama, $1 Million was requested for the construction of a new hospital pavilion at the University Of Chicago. The request was put in in 2006.

Michelle Obama is vice president of community affairs at the University of Chicago Hospital. And you won’t believe the salary jump she got after Barack was elected to the Senate.

Little wonder that Obama initially refused to release all earmark requests.

Hope or Change?

Dan Riehl notes, via Amanda Carpenter, that in the list of earmarks he requested, $1 Million was requested for the construction of a new hospital pavilion at the University Of Chicago. The request was put in in 2006.

You know who works for the University of Chicago Hospital?

Michelle Obama. She’s vice president of community affairs.

As Byron noted, “In 2006, the Chicago Tribune reported that Mrs. Obama’s compensation at the University of Chicago Hospital, where she is a vice president for community affairs, jumped from $121,910 in 2004, just before her husband was elected to the Senate, to $316,962 in 2005, just after he took office.”

Looks like that raise was worth it.

Oh wait, now comes the Obama’s version of the events:

Kelly M. Sullivan, the medical center’s vice president for communications and marketing, noted that Mr. Obama had also requested money for a number of other hospitals in Illinois, and she said any lobbying for the money had been handled by the hospital’s government-affairs officials.
“I can tell you with 100 percent certainty that Michelle Obama was not part of our lobbying over the request, not in any way,” Ms. Sullivan said. She said the hospital’s lobbyists often seek help on their own from both of the state’s senators.
In other cases, Mr. Obama’s requests benefited political supporters.

Allahpundit:

Follow the link for details about those political supporters, to whom hope, change, and buckets of premium grade D.C. pork were duly delivered emblazoned with the “new type of politics” seal of quality. Exit question: Why would a guy burned by the appearance of impropriety in his dealings with Tony Rezko, to the point where he felt obliged to apologize for them, think earmarking money for his wife’s school was a swift idea?

You can’t because you don’t have one. MO may be a lawyer but she has a BIG problem keeping her mouth shut. 20 years at that church and do you really think that she could keep that mouth shut for that long? by the way…you say that BO and MO aren’t stupid enough to be recorded saying explosive things…how about in San Francisco??? When the Huffington Post reported…

Obama can be heard lamenting to a closed San Francisco fundraiser the plight of rural Americans. “You go into some of these small towns in Pennsylvania, and like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing’s replaced them,”Obama said. “And they fell through the Clinton Administration, and the Bush Administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”

I think that there is a tape and much more than that. Barack Hussein Obama will never become the POTUS. I am not a Hillary fan but she has been DOGGED UNFAIRLY by the media.

You folks seem to have forgotten that we are all on the same team. Whether the next president is McCain, Clinton, or Obama, I want them to succeed. Any of them would be much much better than the current president. And they need to be.

We have a sinking economy, enormous trade deficit; oil is going through the roof, and we are fighting two wars and losing both. Honestly, I don’t give a rat’s ass about the age, race, or gender of the candidate, or what idiotic thing they or their spouse has said or done. No one goes through the meat grinder of a presidential run without loving this country enough to make it better.

If you have actual issues that make you prefer one candidate to another, fine. I’m a Democrat, and I find the issue platforms of Clinton and Obama quite similar. I would vote for either over McCain, but I will support my president, whomever he or she may be. In the meantime, please stop acting like adolescents playing “gotcha.”

In addition to that, I find BO and MO are arrogant and full of themselves – and MO is bitter, ungrateful and angry, like America (esp. whites) owes her something. I don’t like Obama’s policies, either (giving illegal aliens drivers licenses is only one of the differences he has between Hillary, and McCain, too).

And I guess by personal insults you folks demonstrate a level of maturity/awareness beyond mine? I mean people are citing polls in May as “proof” of electability. This of course ignores the fact that there is no correlation between May polls and final election.

How sad you people …some of you…react emotionally will pretending to make intellectually honest arguments.

Name my source? Yeah just as soon as LJ reveals his. I will tell you my sources are party officials I know through their children. I’ve known these people all of my life and trust what they tell me.

I am no Obama troll, nor am I a registered Democrat. I support no candidate at this time. In fact, I find none of the three to be all that. I DID NOT VOTE FOR HIM IN MY STATE’S PRIMARY.

I have no ax to grind, no candidate to champion. I just thought that I’d mention what I have heard as well as some impressions.

I also offered the opinion that Obama seems to get stronger the more histrionic his detractors become; we’ve seen this before with Bill Clinton and the “scandals” he was alleged to have been responsible for.

Sometimes people can go too far in their attacks such that they negate their credibility and end up helping the object of their scorn. I believe we are seeing this with Obama detractors. I cited examples in the special elections where people tried to defeat Democratic candidates by tying them to Obama and it did not work.

Newt Gingrich has said the same thing by the way. This election is going to be about giving people something to vote for…not against.

But thanks for the laughs..I mean “Barack Hussein Obama” types are just plain funny!

Lastly, I repeat, in the South, the Clinton brand is not strong. While I believe Obama will likely lose, I am certain that Clinton will because for her to become the nominee would alienate a large portion of the Democratic base.

I’d say those are legitimate comments, you want to know where a candidate really stands, and there is nothing wrong with investigating the candidate and seeing what their true intentions are or what they have supported in the past Most people don’t do any research but just listen to the news and what they tell them, and that is part of the problem, they don’t know enough.

Ahhh this is why I love the Republicans, they find the dirt and know how to use it…sadly the American people will learn too late what some of us have known all along: The Obama’s are not what they seem.

No you did not offend me..I don’t look for validation on blogs.

I have done some research and as I’ve said, I’m not in love with Obama, Clinton, or McCain. But I can say that I am leary of Obama because I haven’t seen sufficient toughness from him. I also do not like his medical plan. These are enough for me reasons for me and I am willing to defend my positions.

What I will not do is resort to questioning his patriotism, his religious affiliation or spread rumors of racist videos. I mean who says “whitey” anyway?

I also believe that Hilary will lose as well. I believe she would say anything, do anything to obtain power. She agrees to play by the rules until she loses and now wants to change(Fla. and Mich.) She is quick to play the victim card. If there is one thing I do like about Obama is that he has never said he was being treated harshly because he was black. But Clinton is quick to be a victim so I don’t like her.

McCain, well what can I say. The continuation of most of the Bush policies I believe is not the best course for the country. I believe , or he has given me the impression that he has no problem with the country in a perpetual state of war.

But my biggest beef with McCain is that he has reversed himself on so many key positions that he is no longer the McCain I wanted to vote for in 2000.

So as I said, I’m not carrying a torch for any of them but will support the winner. There is plenty to debate about the candidates without resorting bs and propaganda. I’ll have to vote for one of them and it’s going to be tough so I want to here substantive stuff not distractions like “secret whitey tapes”.

distractions like “secret whitey tapes”.

**
Distractions??? I think it would be a good thing to know who your enemies are! I think a future First Lady cursing or vilifying ‘white’ people, esp. after she sat in a hate/blame whites/America church for 20 years should be outed for the whole country to see. And, especially after Obama said he was never in church when he heard Wright preach such hatred. It might not be a ‘distraction’ to you, but it might be to a few tens of millions of other whites – enough to sink Obama’s and his “sweetie’s” ‘ambitions’.

And yet you can’t help but come back. I suspect Obama realizes that no matter how many trolls he sends out there is NO TURNING BACK! If Hillary is not the nominee we WILL help the republicans bury the Hamas approved mascot. Spare us the unity crap…everything about Obama’s past and present is anti-Democrat and anti-American.

“the Hamas approved mascot” – LOL! That’s priceless! Mind if I ‘borrow’ your descritpion of him when I post on other blogs?

Michelle and the elusive tape? Why I think it exists is; she does let her anger show and seemed proud of it till she saw the harm it did their pres. run. I did read some of the angry thesis she wrote while at Princeton (thanks to affirmative action by the way), she most likely did the pulpit rant long before she thought her hubby would run for Pres. and she was trying to make points with her congregation AND it seems to me SHE is the one who probably kept them in that church far too long for his carreer and he knew but could not get her to give it up. They lived in a bubble surrounded in the church by like minded people, very out of touch with the main stream and how the Rev sounds to us. She strikes me as very, very politically ambitious like her mate. Of course she lacks his gift of gab and in fact turns off all but the already angry who love her. Just my opinion as an amatuer psychologist.

This is plain frustrating. As a Clinton supporter I see the chances of our having an excellent President slipping away – I do not think Obama is an acceptable candidate on any level – he has avoided directly answering the very odd circumstances of his snappy rise to political fame – the on and on donations from people deep in the mix of the Chicago Combine, he is amateurish in his presentation of foreign policy (we are at war, no small thing) etc., etc. It is stunning that we are discussing the strategic withholding of a Michelle “whitey rant” tape (whether it exists or not, does it not tell a significant story that so many of us can easily believe in its existence?) a tape that might finally allow Super Delegates an out seemingly necessary not to offend the Black community – (who out there really thinks this race wouldn’t be going to the convention floor if this were 2 white men going at it with this close a race?). The tape might also wake up a larger portion of the Democratic Party that this candidate really holds views that are shockingly out of step with change and unity.

There is a groundswell of love and support out there for Barack Obama that is not necessarily being reported to the pollsters. He will bury McCain handily in November.

He’s already beaten the best. When he gets going on McCain, he’ll have the old fool looking just like the blithering panderer Bush wannabe he is.

Obama 08!

Comment by HillaryMadamePresident | 2008-05-27 10:22:30

Obama hasn’t won anything, yet. You must not have heard that more than 16.7 million Democrats support Hillary. A huge number of those supporters will never vote for a finger-flipping, misogynist, newbie from their own party. They will vote for experience. If not Hillary, then John McCain.

Comment by Jay Morris | 2008-05-30 22:14:36

I think that groundswell of love and support is subsiding quickly. You think the “new coalition” is the ticket. You’re simply wrong.

I will try once more.

I see strong accusations with nothing but hearsay evidence like “the Obama’s are not what they seem,” and “Obama’s past and present is anti-Democrat and anti-American.” Do you folks remember the McCarthy era? You jump to conclusions about a video tape you haven’t even seen! That’s called “prejudging”. It has the same root as “prejudice.”

Yes, there are folks who have drunk the Obama kool aid, and can’t see any flaws in him. But you folks have drunk some sort of anti-Obama kool aid.

This is what I see. He is very bright, and he is a great public speaker (I am happy to see young people active again). He seems quite ambitious. He saw that this was a rare year where a black man might actually be able to win, given the screw-ups of the current administration. He did not follow some unwritten protocol about “waiting his turn”. I think that has angered many. I can understand that, but no one is entitled to the presidency–we deserve the best person we can get.

I think he has far less experience than the other two candidates. On the other hand, he seems to be less entwined in the web of logrolling and perhaps more able to bring diverse people together. Perhaps. I can see voting against Obama because of his lack of experience, or for him because there are fewer special interests to which he is beholden, or his ability to create a diverse majority.

He seems to have had trouble early on connecting with the black community, and so attended a church with a nutcase for a preacher. I don’t see Obama doing this as anti-American, but I do think it was done out of political calculation.

I could do a similar analysis of the other two. They are all complex people, with plusses and minuses. They all are ambitious. They all have brilliant accomplished people who have endorsed them, and will help guide them if they become president. You know, I think we do too much “cult of personality.” It is an entire administration, not one man or woman.

Frankly, it is the party of the administration that matters more than the persona at its head. In November, you will decide whether the next administration will be Democratic or Republican. After the last 8 years, I see a need for change, and I will vote for whichever Democrat gets nominated.

Comment by HillaryMadamePresident | 2008-05-27 10:25:29

I disagree with 99% of your comments. However, I defend your right to state them. Just don’t be too certain about the special interests thing.

but I do think it was done out of political calculation

Since when does a person decide that a house of worship is to be used in an act of political calculation? What does that say about his moral judgement?

Yikes!
