MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (AP) – Filling in for Sen. Edward M. Kennedy and tying himself to the family’s legacy, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama urged college graduates Sunday to “make us believe again” by dedicating themselves to public service….

Very brief chronology of the Obamas’ questionable purchase of the Kenwood mansion with indicted slumlord and notorious political fixer Antoin “Tony” Rezko:
- At the same time, Rita Rezko buys the garden plot, 5046 South Greenwood Avenue,for the asking price of $625,000
- June 15, 2005: Barack Obama and his wife Michelle buy 5050 South Greenwood Avenue in Kenwood, Chicago, for $1.65 million – $300,000 less than asking price
- January 2006: Mrs. Rezko sells a 10ft strip of garden to the Obamas for $104,500
- December 28, 2006: Mrs Rezko sells remainder of garden plot to a lawyer who works for her husband’s business for $575,000

All of the Illinois influence peddlers machinations make the rigging of the nomination by the DNC look like child’s play.
Illinois Gov. Blag was supposed to be the Democratic nominee who as president would replace Patrick Fitzgerald and clear Rezko and the whole bedrock of Illinois influence peddlers that Fitzgerald has in his crosshairs.
Blag became radioactive so Obama, Rezko’s #2 man, is being sold by Axelrod (of the Daley machine). There’s even more than the DNC’s attempt to wrest the party from the centralist philosophy of the Clintons (a path that includes all Americans, but especially the middle and lower classes).
If the extent of Democratic corruption in Chicago and Illinois were known, the Democratic Party as we know it would implode. (Republicans are part of this, and Rezko was bi-political in his favors since his only purpose was to make more money–but the Democratic “image” has the most to lose–and the previous governor Ryan (R) is in jail).

While sitting in his cell the past four months, I wonder how often Rezko relives his walk-through in Obama’s new mansion. The one that Rezko managed to swing for him through Auchi’s loan? Rezko was broke and everyone with an ear to the ground knew that he was about to be arrested. Obama’s political instincts are not golden.
The question is how much Obama as Chairman of the Senate Health and Human Services Committee passed legislation (specifically Senate Bill 1332) that helped Rezko’s influence peddling schemes.
From Evelyn Pringle’s latest article on Follow the Money: “On May 31, 2003, Senate Bill 1332 passed and specified that the “Board shall be appointed by the Governor, with the advice and consent of the Senate.” The legislation reduced the number of members from 15 to 9, paving the way for the appointment of a five-bloc majority to rig the votes.
The corrupt members appointed included three doctors who contributed to Obama. Michel Malek gave Obama $10,000 on June 30, 2003 and donated $25,000 to Blagojevich on July 25, 2003. Malek also gave Obama another $500 in September 2003.”

NPR played that clip at the top of the hour newscast a couple of times last night. They obviously noticed the communist tones of that passage too.
And didn’t he get the name of the college wrong? A past clip he called it “Wellsley” and the audience laughed.
I assumed the clip that I watched with people laughing at him for saying “Wellesley” was a clip from the Daily Show or something and the laughter was from Jon Stewart’s (or Letterman’s) audience. I don’t think college students would laugh at Obama for doing something so insignificant (to them) as messing up their alma mater’s name. No, they’d probably praise him for breaking with the “politics of old” wherein people actually know where they are.
I’m Cuban. I could recognize that communist rhetoric to a graduating class a mile away.
As much as I hate Marxism, I hate hypocrisy even more.
Zillow doesn’t include the sales tranaction in their estimate. That’s the first time I’ve ever seen that. Also, the assessed value in 2006 was around $150K but the taxes paid were around $22,000. Here’s what Zillow had to say about why they didn’t include the sales transaction in their estimate:
“This transaction was not used in computing the Zestimate for this house due to anomalies we detected with this transaction. These anomalies can include unusual document or transaction types, sales between possibly related parties, unusually high or low transaction prices, or other data irregularities that might indicate the transaction is not a full-value, arms-length transaction.”
Zillow also shows another home on the same property, likely a home that has been torn down at some point.

In regard to the passing of the Kennedy mantle to Obama, I’m sure they all feel really good about that considering his campaign used Bobby’s assassination as means of attacking Hillary Clinton. Jack and Bobby are no doubt looking down on him with great pride.

You know what the biggest insult to the school is? Hillary graduated from there and you can BET they would have far preferred to have seen her deliver this commencement speech. At least she can pronounce it. And you would think that in the sunset of his life, Ted Kennedy might have had a kinder thought about it.
