Obama’s Momentum-Shifting Gaffe – It Is Dishonorable, Disgraceful, Deceitful

It seems at No Quarter that we writers spend half our writing time describing Barack Obama’s latest gaffe. But this is beyond all bounds of decency. (See Truthteller’s haunting story, “Obama O’Trauma.”)

Barack Obama is a CHRONIC CONFABULATOR. The reason he does so with regularity is that he has NO SHAME about telling any story that pops into his addled brain because he does not care or realize who he is hurting with his lies. The SOLE reason he has gotten away with it so far is the Obamedia that lionizes and adores him instead of scrutinizing him. LOOK at this screenshot of Memeorandum.com’s coverage of this appalling “gaffe” by Obama — NOTICE what is missing:

war-gaffe.jpg

IT IS VITAL TO NOTE that almost ALL of the links are to BLOGS, and not to any mainstream media source.

Someday, countless books will be written about how the media did not do its job in vetting the hollow man that is Barack Obama, just as there are now countless books about how the media failed to ask tough questions before Bush invaded Iraq.

He is totally lacking in gravitas.

He is totally lacking in the depth of knowledge of all major issues facing us.

He is totally lacking in the experiece/capacity with dealing with complex issue solving.

He has shown total lack in judgement

He has shown a disconcerning problem with defining his own identity/history

He has shown an alarming lack of basic US history and geography

He has shown little empathy with the suffering of most Americans

He has shown extremely little understanding of world events and dangers

He has been proven how little prepared he is to be the President of the US

He should NEVER become Commander in Chief of the greatest nation in the world.

It’s Payback for Bosnia sniper fire.

I usually warn against payback, but this is truly a fair form of that time-honored political tactic. :)

I just watched Lou Dobbs cover it, eager to see what he’d say after Obama slammed him…Candy Crowley was the field reporter, she said, “Oh, he just misspoke. Auschwitz, Buchenwald, it’s easy to get them mixed up. And he MEANT to say Grand Uncle, not Uncle. Hahaha, oh well.” And all Lou said was, “With all the misstatements lately from Hillary and Barack, they should get more sleep! Hahaha.” The end.

And when Hillary referenced Bobby Kennedy, everyone made the immediate connection that she was trying to say he would be assassinated, or that she might try to assassinate him, or that she was just sticking around in the hopes that he get assassinated. Yet with him, it’s just, “Oh, isn’t he cute? Hahaha, he made a boo-boo.”

If you can’t see the difference between getting an historical factoid wrong as opposed to mischaracterizing (I’m being generous) a personal experience used to make a point about supposed foreign policy credentials, then I can’t help you.

I don’t need your help either. And neither do any of the Jewish prisoners who were lucky enough to survive Auschwitz or Buchenwald. Or their descendants. I’m sure they know the difference between concentration camps. So take your superior, holier-than-thou bullshit and wipe it on another blog.

I can recall to this day, as a 15 year old, watching an older lady pay for her train ticket into NYC on the LIRR at the Great Neck station. As she reached out with her money, her wrist had a “tat” of letters and numbers…she saw me stare at it and I will never forget the look on her face. I wish I could describe it. It is a moment frozen in time to me.

For BO to even go there is SO Rev. Wright of him. What an insentive ignorant fool he is.

I recall Col. Winters account (Band of Brothers) of what he saw and the look in his face was only half of what this woman must have gone through.

The MSM echo chamber “Death Star” is complete, Master.

You are a filthy fascist rat: how can you dare refer to the Holocaust as a “historical factoid”?

Fuck off : and I really mean it b/c I am furious about this today. You asshole.

Comment by jwrjr | 2008-05-27 23:07:21

For Clinton to refer to the assination of one person is EVIL (poor judgement, I’ll agree to, but not evil), but for Obama to refer to the murder of thousands of Jews is just fine. Yeah, right.

Comment by Steve Judd | 2008-05-27 23:27:10

Um, Cal, the destruction of 3,000,000 members of the Polish Jewish community amounts to somewhat more than an “historical factoid” to many, many people here in the US and elsewhere. The word “Auschwitz” is a word that burns when heard by a Jew and Obama’s tossing it off obviously with no understanding of its history or meaning was just a transparent “lapel pin” for the benefit of the US Jewish community with which he’s having such problems.

Besides, you’d think a guy who’s chief foreign policy “sweetie” is the currently benched Samantha “A Problem From Hell” Power would have this fundamental knowledge of the Nazi death industry…assuming he is interested at all.

they should get more sleep

They should. One hour regular sleep and intermittent naps – it can kill a body. Remember Hill’s gift to Ellen? ;)

But here’s where it gets interesting: a ‘commander in chief’ can’t count on sleep. Crises don’t pull back and say ‘OK we’ll wait until you get more sleep’.

Hill has stood up well; Barry’s a disaster. And so the question again: could this lummox ever be a commander in chief?

You don’t have to answer that. Twas a rhetorical question.

And to that idiot Candy Crowley :

How can you dare to joke about concentration camps?

Oh yeah, well Jews were killed here or there; what does it matter where … Is that it? Is that what you think : shame on you !!

It is despicable.

I am still madly furious and this is unforgivable.

Comment by mahaska | 2008-05-27 20:07:50

It is surreal that Candy Crawler went out of her way to say what he said “was true” and was making excuses for him instead of presenting the fact that Obama can’t tell the truth ’cause he would incriminate himself.

It is wicked to see how fast the media jumps to change his diaper; so many times it is a bio- hazard in the political landfill.

And sorry for bring this up but does anyone know who BO’s makeup artist is? Why does his skin tone change depending on who he is speaking to? or is it just me? I have a VERY good HD set…Frakin wierd.

Anyway, maybe that is his tool of distraction from his gaffe, so many lately. The worst, so far is his giving a wrong name for one of the concentration camp. The media once again gave him a free pass!! Did he apologize?
Why can’t the pundits be FAIR??? I wonder if OBama’s stories of his white family’s involvement in wars, are even accurate. His credibility is slipping away fast!
Candy Crowley must be his paid mouthpiece!

Comment by MessyMarcy | 2008-05-27 23:10:19

Candy Crowley is not a real journalist — she just plays one on TV. Remember how she practically had an orgasm whenever she talked about George W. back in 2000, while Gore got treated about as bad as Hillary now.

The media now are all in love, true love, with Obama; and he is just as big a jackass and just as unqualified as Bush (and maybe more so, and I never thought I’d say that about anybody).

And notice that not only will they make excuses for him no matter how objectionable his lies, they consistently cite 2026 as the number of delegates needed to secure the nomination rather than the correct 2210.

It was on the FoxNews evening edition. My husband caught the gaffe right away. He’s read tons of books on World War II history. The problem is that a lot of the young people who support Obama wouldn’t know the difference, because I don’t think that schools put as much emphasis on learning history as when we [baby boomers] were in school.

Comment by ProudMilitaryMom | 2008-05-27 21:10:50

The Diary of Anne Frank is a novel to many students.

In spite of everything I still believe that people are really good at heart. I simply can’t build up my hopes on a foundation consisting of confusion, misery and death.

Schindler’s List, just a movie.

Amon Goeth: Today is history. Today will be remembered. Years from now the young will ask with wonder about this day. Today is history and you are part of it. Six hundred years ago when elsewhere they were footing the blame for the Black Death, Casimir the Great – so called – told the Jews they could come to Krakow. They came. They trundled their belongings into the city. They settled. They took hold. They prospered in business, science, education, the arts. With nothing they came and with nothing they flourished. For six centuries there has been a Jewish Krakow. By this evening those six centuries will be a rumor. They never happened. Today is history.

.

Band Of Brothers, a Docu-drama

Ronald Spiers: The only hope you have is to accept the fact that you’re already dead. The sooner you accept that, the sooner you’ll be able to function as a soldier is supposed to function: without mercy, without compassion, without remorse. All war depends upon it.

What are they to Obama? A way to win an election? How quickly history can repeat it self.

Obama is fine at giving pre-written, self focused speeches. When it comes down to speaking without a script – as during the debates – he does not shine. The media is so afraid of being un-PC, that they will never point out his weaknesses. I am thankful for this website.

I know this may sound trivial compared to Obama’s lies, but has anyone noticed his grammar? He has a continual problem with subject/verb agreement, and he is also plagued by run-on sentences. I can’t even read some of his quotes. He has serious trouble speaking without a script that someone else has written for him.

This guy is no genius friends. I don’t care if he graduated from Harvard or Hell! The man’s use of the English language is less than acceptable for someone who wishes to be POTUS. I think he’s dyslexic. It reminds me of another less than stellar individual by the name of Bush.

Who had the Master Rove pulling his strings…and now we have Axelrove running for President…or at least that’s what it seems like. Obama is a Harvard educated idiot who isn’t running for President. Axelrove is. Hillary should turn to HIM and say, “I’m not sure who I’M running against sometimes!”

Comment by yttik | 2008-05-27 19:13:51

Yes, I have noticed that. He also uses words that are too big for him. He’s not sure what syllable he’s supposed to land on.

His pronounciation is not real, either. It comes across as unanatural, like he’s trying to impress somebody. He’s not speaking from the heart, this isn’t his voice so he’s not familiar with it.

For contrast, you can listen to Bill Clinton speak. He’s amazing, he doesn’t have to think about what he’s saying, it’s his own voice. That man can speak on any issue, to any audience, ad lib.

Statistician Gives Clinton 100% Chance of Winning

On Friday, Sen. Hillary Clinton had a 99.9% chance of defeating Sen. John McCain in an election held then. Today after the release of five new polls, Clinton’s chances have increased ever so slightly.

After 10,000 simulated elections, Clinton wins 10,000 times (and there were no ties). What does this mean? It means that the state head-to-head polls used to generate a simulated election indicate that Clinton would win a general election held now. That is, her expected win of 320 electoral votes is well above the “margin of error” (or sampling variability).

The fact is Obama lied, for his camp to come now with the lame story it was another camp and his great uncle who is really going to check the fact certainly not the MSM, they have already let it pass and hope its forgotten by tomorrow.

You will not hear that it was political pandering, you will not hear that he is playing to the Jew votes, you will hear nothing of the sort from the MSM, that only happens if it was something said by either Bill or Hillary.

I really cannot understand how anyone in their right minds can nominate a candidate that has the greatest percentage of losing and election, but yet this is what the media is feeding up when all indications are there that he will lose, it is really a sad state of affairs in this nation, and when he does lose the media will never carry that blame they will write stories on everything else that made that happen, but not on will say that the public told them so.

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-05-27 19:09:27

He is mimicking Hillary, to be honest. He saw how her stories about growing up in PA worked.

He really does follow her lead. Alas, you have to be reasonable about your personal stories. First, they really need to be true. (See Hillary mistake, page 1, as reference.)

Second, the location matters. Location, location, location.

Third, you need to do your homework. If you can’t do your homework on the campaign trail and make this many mistakes, don’t expect us to trust that you’ll pay attention to the endlessly boring Pentagon meetings, where it really does matter.

Or the endless reports on the housing market.

Frankly, there won’t BE any reports on the only topic that seems to grasp your attention: Race Relations.

EEO is so dead, it’s beyond being revived.

Bingo. Proves my point. That the MSM has an agenda. Most progressive/liberal blogs said the MSM were no good. Liars.

When the so called liberal websites choose to ignore things they can.

Like how Americablog can ignore Obama’s ties with groups that “fix” gays? Groups that lead to suicide in the gay community. Why? There were no excuses for anyone else.

They wonder why Hillary is still in the race while not objecting to the b*tch, wh*re, and c*nt references.

Where’s the outrage about that?

They wonder why Hillary supporters don’t just give up.

What do they want?

I’ll tell you what us real progressives want.

Equality for all.

Human rights for all (even women). Worldwide. Because Women’s rights are Human rights.

Real programs with details about how to implement them.

No exclusion of any group(s) of people because you think they’re gun-toting racists. The MLK model.

You’re not getting our votes unless you stop, apologize, and listen to our concerns.

We’re just average Americans and not stereotypes. Guess you can’t deal with that.

I say he blew things out of proportion to make himself look like he’s from a patriotic family because of John McCain.

actually, he was trying to create the impression that he had a “personal” understanding of the need for veterans health care — especially mental health care services.

And that looks like the big lie to me…. check the phrasing

I had an uncle who was one of the — who was part of the first American troops to go into Auschwitz and liberate the concentration camps. And the story in our family was is that when he came home, he just went up into the attic and he didn’t leave the house for six months.
Right, now, obviously, something had really affected him deeply. But at that time, there just weren’t the kinds of facilities to help somebody work through that kind of pain.

And that’s why, you know, this idea of making sure that every single veteran, when they are discharged, are screened for post- traumatic stress disorder and given the mental health services that they need — that’s why it’s so important.

now, this was apparently a great uncle on his mothers side who Obama probably never met — the phrasing “the story in our family” suggests that he himself never even heard the story, rather it was the kind of thing that campaigns get from interviews with relatives when they are looking for anecdotes they can use or potential trouble for the candidate. (If he’d known the uncle, it wouldn’t have been described as ‘the story in our family…”

But the really dishonest part is that Obama tries to make the need for mental health services “personal” — that he isn’t just pandering to the veterans in the audience, but has a direct connection to their suffering. And he doesn’t — its just some third hand anecdote that was very possibly a source of amusement among family members….

Comment by yttik | 2008-05-27 19:47:30

It’s always about Obama, isn’t it? He could have said we need services for veterans because it’s the right thing to do, because they honored their committment and we should honor ours.

Instead he tries to portray it as if he himself has suffered by having to listen to family stories, as if this issue is all about him. He attempts to make it personal, when in fact he can’t even relate.

Comment by mahaska | 2008-05-27 20:15:46

Comment by Margaret | 2008-05-27 20:36:37

Good point. “The story in our family” also implies it is a made up story, not verifiable. It’s not, here’s what my “uncle” did, it’s, the story is… as in Fiction!

It’s time to turn the table. Actually, this is long overdue…

Instead of the Obamabots and polluted MSM (my hero, Lou Dobbs, excepted of course) sounding the incessant drum beat for Hillary to withdraw from the campaign, we need to begin to ask that of Barky.

When, oh when, will Barky grow a pair and realize that he is in over his head and for the sake of mankind, admit that he has no business running for President of the United States.

No wonder they wanted Hillary to quit after Super Tuesday – the longer this goes on, the worse he looks.

Senator Obama, why are you still in this race? Obama followers, how can you possibly still support him?

Geez.

Not Auschwitz, not Buchenwald, its OHRDUF

And don’t you forget it.

excerpt from Politico.com:

Obama’s World War II history

Earlier, the Republican National Committee pounced on Obama’s improbable statement that an uncle had served in the unit that liberated Auschwitz.

In fact, campaign spokesman Bill Burton says, his great uncle was a member of the 89th Infantry Division that liberated the Ohrduf camp, part of Buchenwald and according to the Holocaust Museum, the first concentration camp liberated by U.S. troops.

The soldier in question, Burton said, is Obama’s grandmother’s brother, who’s still alive.

I think so many of these young bloggers and Obama supporters really don’t have a historical perspective. They take everything this man says as absolute truth. Whether it be WWII, the history of women’s lives before the vote, after the vote or before the feminist movement, and even of the Carter years, which I remember all too well. I was a young mother with two babies living in cramped quarters and no way of moving because of hellish mortgage rates. Foreign policy was a wreck and the economy was in the tank. It’s not that Carter wasn’t well-meaning and bright. He was simply ill-suited to the job. And frankly, I think his advisors were awful. I have the same dread when I think of Obama at the helm.

In any case, you get a skewed devotion from BO supporters to a man and a campaign that has played loose with the facts, misspoken and pretended that “they” have the answer to all ills. There’s something very creepy in referring to any politician as, “The One.” As if any one man or woman had all the answers, can solve all problems, can be everything to everyone. I’m not looking for the Messiah. We need a President, a competent one.

It’s all going to hit the fan at some point. I pray it’s before the convention and if not, please God, before the November election.

Only if there’s money in it and only if the media are no longer under obligation to their employers. :(

Comment by Catriley | 2008-05-27 19:35:57

Here’s the problem — here is why Obama made the mistake talking about the flag on his “father’s” coffin, not his grandfather, and how he got this one wrong, as well.

It’s because these stories that Axelrove is asking him to insert into his speeches and comments, are not really part of his life. His media advisors say.. ‘oh, Obama you’re slipping with Veterans, so here’s the line to say about your grandfather’. Obama is now courting the Jewish vote, so there is the story about his grand uncle and the Nazi death camp.

His untruths about his father being part of the Kennedy school program was wrong. His comments about the Selma march and his parents, wrong also.

He’s messing up because it’s not part of him. He makes very real mistakes when talking about deep subjects because he’s trying to remember his talking points. They may have been things in his family’s past, but they are nothing more than talking points to his media advisors. Do you think that any of us would forget something that has so much significance in our lives?? Of course not.

He is GWB all over again. Though he is smarter than George, he is just as empty as Bush and being refilled daily by his media advisors and speechwriters. Considering all of his “best” lines are written by those guys.. why would anyone be shocked by his constant mistakes when he is without a telepromter.

I just can’t bear the idea that Americans (especially Dems) could be that stupid as to push another image candidate on us. Haven’t we learned our lessons about that?

Comment by Gregoryp | 2008-05-27 21:08:34

As an Obamabot asked me the other day, could you please verify that statement. I don’t think that it can be proved in any way that Obama is actually smarter than George Bush. In fact, I think if you really looked into it you might find that Bush is waaaaaaay smarter than Obama. I think Obama is really as stupid as he seems.

That’s not exactly going out on a limb! And it’s a tragedy – because they can engineer a real tragedy in their self centered stupidity.

They take everything this man says as absolute truth.

I don’t think it’s at all hard to see through him. I’ve said before it takes but ten seconds. I’ve had several people report this. My my – the first time voter. David Axelrod hit paydirt.

In any case, you get a skewed devotion from BO supporters to a man and a campaign that has played loose with the facts

Facts? FACTS? Who needs obscene things like facts? He stands for hope and change! ;)

There’s something very creepy in referring to any politician as, “The One.”

No shit, darlin’!

We need a President, a competent one.

You need a good administrator. Sheep need a leader; you need an administrator. It’s about trust as Hill would say.

Obama also saw dead people at his speech in New Mexico, this guy is an Idiot.

He’s punch drunk. Way punch drunk. He’s never had to work so hard in his life. Some say he’s never before had to work period.

He cannot go the fifteen rounds. This if anything should make the lights go on at the DNC. But they’re already in the pockets of Axelrod, Soros, and the Pritzkers so it isn’t much to hope. For the way they see it: they have everything to win and everything to lose both. The alternative? There is none. Watch the subprime mess get unraveled with someone else at the helm. Watch those fat cats take a trip up the river. To them it has to be McCain or Barry. You can’t buy Hillary and she will bury your backside if she can. They simply cannot give up; they simply must use all the tricks in the book; they simply must continue to apply the thumbscrews every chance they can. They have no alternative.

(2) Newspapers
(3) Internet/Blogs
(4) News Magazines
(5) Radio

I bet you that just I did; a large part of respondents marked (3) Internet/Blogs.

The first fight is for more and more and of the good blogs to be known, to grow and have an impact.

I had a High School Principle who told me about his unit being the first at Auschwitz. What the author seems not to realize is that there was a great deal of chaos at the fall of the Reich. The US sent forces into several places that were later given to the Soviets to “liberate”. While the research facilities at Peenemünde are perhaps the most well known, according to the testimony of a man I respect and trust, Auschwitz is also one of those locations. He told me that the US forces lined up the German guards and machine gunned them all… Perhaps that is why it was never recorded in official history.”

Auschwitz, Birkenau, Buchenwald – they’re all the same. Places where atrocities were committed by the evil Nazis against innocent men, women, and children. Places that needed to be liberated.

So what if Obama misspoke and his great-uncle really helped liberate Buchenwald instead of Auschwitz? If he’s gracious enough to take Hillary Clinton at her word on the whole “assassination” thing, then we as decent folk ought to step up to the plate and be able to accept a minor thing like a misspeak on which exact concentration camp it was. For all we know, that may have been what he heard from his family who misheard it from him.

Unless of course you’re a crasshole who doesn’t have any sense of human decency to forgive a simple mistake. Look, if you don’t like Obama, use his policies, his record, his stances on the issues. Don’t be bringing up racist shit. You know who you are. Shame on you!

What is racist about calling him stupid and a liar? It is not racist to say he cannot string two sentences together coherently, and that at least one of those sentences (after you finally unravel whatever the hell he meant) is not true. If he is going to use his family for political gain, he should make an effort to learn their names and how he is related to them. He just throws shit out, and hopes he gets it right, or nobody notices.

I mean you Obamadroids are always calling McCain senile, but obama has much more problems with remembering anything tham McCain.

Hillary makes a valid, coherent argument that the primary season has often stretched into June, and she is accused of advocating murder. It’s like none of you knew RFk was (yes,I’ll say it) assassinated. He was. It is not unforgivable to mention that horrible tragedy. At least she got her facts straight.

The reason Obama almost never speaks without a script and a teleprompter is he cannot keep his lies straight otherwise. That is why he is afraid to debate Hillary one-on-one again. She would cream him and he would again make a complete fool of himself.

You know, his gaffes remind me of Bush during the 2000 campaign, when asked about Pakistan, replied something to the effect that they had elected their leader and isn’t Democracy great? (I am paraphrasing here, of course). The gist of the matter was that Dubya didn’t even KNOW that Musharraf (sp?) had gotten his position through a military coup! And it’d been the headlines for at least a day or two prior to the reporter asking him this. Um, Presidents are expected to know little details like this, but we’ve seen how much Dubya cares about any of that even to this day.

Makes me wonder more and more about B.O.’s ability to lead anything.

Two more Hillary or McCain–no other option–bitter, clingy white folks here.

I am afraid that Obama was born without empathy and has been unable to acquire any along the way. For most people, learning about concentration camps is a searing experience. If a relative was involved in liberating prisoners from camps it would be unforgettable. If you had empathy that is.

Yet with him, it’s just, “Oh, isn’t he cute? Hahaha, he made a boo-boo.”

exactly, hillary’smygirl!

On the WaPo blog they are tearing up the journalist who listed Obama’s latest lies even tho he downgraded the lies and made excuses for them.

Sickening.

So here’s a question. If CNN, MSNBC, WAPo, NYT, LATimes et al are so fucking misogynistic bad (and they are), why not use that against them? Why not stage a up yours jerks ‘boycott the media” day? Maybe we should do it the day of the DNC meeting, May 31, and just turn off our televisions, and avoid their websites for the whole day. Of course, we should email these outlets in droves or post on their blogs to let them know we will only watch Fox and read Taylor Marsh, No Quarter, and other blogs on May 31. We as a collective are turning down Obama and the media since they are ignoring 17 million of us. The MSM, once they get wind of what we’re up to, can tell their advertisers they won’t have shit for an audience to turn down their media buy for the day. Or maybe we should just contact the big sponsors ourselves and say we aren’t watching the clowns MSM until they actually provide some UNBIASED coverage. What do you think?

Sharon, I like that, boycott the media day: Maybe AFTER May 31, 2008. DNC MIGHT (hopefully)accept the FL & MI votes that day, then we win!Otherwise, we “strike”!
How can we make this happen nationwide? Maybe you request Larry Johnson & the rest of the “big” bloggers to spearhead it & we get involve.Motive:
To accept FL & MI voters/delegates to the convention
To nominate Hillary Clinton, the ELECTABLE presidential candidate who will beat McCain this November.
Frankly, I did place notice to MSNBC, that I am boycotting their network. My family & friends are doing that too. America deserves the BEST!! Hillary for President!!

Sharonevolving-

I don’t watch MSNBC or CNN anymore, but it’s complaining to sponsors that gets the job done.

Do you think that the NAACP and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference haven’t been strong arming them via advertising and threats to boycott? They’ve been doing it for years!

OK, this is getting boring. Other people post links but this place always rejects my comments with links…and I hate not giving links.

Someone ASKED for this link but HEY. WTF ever. Too bad…apparently, I can’t give links.

Here’s the damned answer and if you want the link, just google it yourself. It’s not that hard….Obama’s 2002 Auschwitz blunder:

Barack Obama spoke about Auschwitz back in 2002 in his speech against the Iraq War:

My grandfather signed up for a war the day after Pearl Harbor was bombed, fought in Patton’s army. He saw the dead and dying across the fields of Europe; he heard the stories of fellow troops who first entered Auschwitz and Treblinka. He fought in the name of a larger freedom, part of that arsenal of democracy that triumphed over evil, and he did not fight in vain. I don’t oppose all wars.
Newsmax reported on this back in April:

All this would be great if it weren’t pure fiction. For starters, the Nazis destroyed the Treblinka death camp in 1943 after shooting the last prisoners, a group of Jewish girls.

Then there is the problem of the locations of Treblinka and Auschwitz. Both Nazi death camps were located inside Poland. Thus, no American troops ever entered the camps until years after the war was over.

Auschwitz was taken by the Soviet Union after the Nazis evacuated most of the prisoners. The retreating Nazis left those too weak or sick to walk behind. The 322nd Rifle Division of the Red Army liberated them on Jan. 27 1945.
So, it’s not the first time he talked about US soldiers at Auschwitz.
It’s just the first time he mentioned that his crazy uncle was there.

I can’t stand Bambi but I will give him the benefit of the doubt. He is running for the President and he made a mistake at a speech. I know he is a liar but anyone could make the mistake he did. I am more concerned that he is using Republican talking points about Unions, Social Security, and health care. I don’t care if he wants to polish his family history a little that is minor when compared to his destructive policy positions.

I find it incredible that we have another Rev. Wright clone in the pulpit of the Trinity United Church. Same invectives, same gyrations, flailing of hands, spins, crouches. Like some kind of strange, native dance in the jungle. And in the background: wild stomping, people out of their seats, clapping and shouting their approval.

This Obama character seems to dismiss this insanity in degrees…depending on how much political damage he assesses it is causing him with each new revelation. He thinks his slick rhetoric and his snake-oil salesman approach to anything and everything…will quell the firestorm all of these continuing spectacles are creating for his campaign. Well…he is dead wrong…!!!

The guy is a loser. Big time. And the Democrats, by foisting him up as their “agent of change” of hope, and of peace…are going to have egg all over their face…come election time…when voters who have refrained from the “Kool-Aid” dispenser…reject him at the polls in droves.
