What if Hillary Clinton’s close ‘friend’ an advisor, or if Hillary had said this:
“Brzezinski is someone I have learned an immense amount from”, and “one of our most outstanding scholars and thinkers”.
Then, imagine if that person made this statement:
It’s not unique to the Jewish community — but there is a McCarthy-ite tendency among some people in the Jewish community. They operate not by arguing but by slandering, vilifying, demonising.They very promptly wheel out anti-Semitism. There is an element of paranoia in this inclination to view any serious attempt at a compromised peace as somehow directed against Israel.”
Paranoid? Jewish people are paranoid? Well, I guess so, one day they are heading off to work – the next day they are being shipped off to concentration camps (IF THEY WERE LUCKY) or worse- gas chambers.

There is a difference in talking about Jewish people and the Israeli policies and politics. Much as I hate to appear to side with ZB I have certainly experienced some scathing attacks when I have objected to some of the policies of the Israeli government and been accused of anti-semitism in some pretty ugly terms. My ex-husband who became a messianic jew, “Jew’s for Jesus” kind of thing was also subjected to some bitter hate speech.
I’m not in favor of attacking people for trying to dialogue or for having opinions that differ from the politically correct view of the moment or from a particular group.
Just like I get aggravated when I get accused of being a racist if I criticize Obama or some other prominent African American I equally dislike being attacked as an anti semite.
For me it is important to separate out the history of the Jews from the policies of the Israeli’s. They aren’t always right and it is a disservice to all of us, meaning the world to have to keep quiet so we won’t be attacked by any group.
For me, being an old lefty, I’m always on the side of the “least of these,” the oppressed, the ones without power in just about any situation. Some call it bleeding heart liberalism but I see it more as a biblical injunction that is “commanded” in both the NT and the OT.
There is no denying that the Jews have been victimized throughout history but that should not make it acceptable to be silent about injustices Israel may be perpetrating.
Same thing for any unjustly victimized group.
Just my opinion of course.
In the meantime ZB has definite issues and should be careful before people start bringing up his own strange one world government agenda.

Factions indeed. There are a whole range of opinions in Israel about their own policies. There are hardliners and there are those who want a two state solution and work together with Palestinians for Peace. There are even anti-Zionist movements within Israel and the jewish communities.
I just had this thought that perhaps it is not helpful to say the AA community or the Jewish communtiy, That is a whole block of people and they all don’t feel like the person who is putting them in the block.

I am so not Jewish. However, I’m involved in a personal part of my life. Here’s what I’ve learned. The Jewish part of our Democratic Party is incredibly strong. Many of the Holocaust survivors are the parents of the people I’m involved with.
It’s highly complex. It’s a very real and complicated segment. It’s also very ifluential policially.
My connection, very layman, is that there’s not the support for “no compromise.” However, there’s an absolute conviction that compromise in the wrong way is nothing more than a set-up for attack on Israel.
I personally agree. My own reading of the Paletistian question is that they have been as abandoned and misused by their Arab countries as treated badly by Israel.

My husband told me this morning that the morning news reported Carter making a statement about Israel having the bomb. Not a huge surprise because it’s one of those “well-known” secrets. But then he goes on to reveal that Israel has about 150 bombs. I guess the next step is to tell everyone where the bombs are, or maybe he did while playing kissy-face with Hamas.

It is very important I think that each of us express directly to HRC at her web site under the “send us your tips” (News page) that whatever happens over FL/MI and/or SD, MN, PR that she go to the convention, make certain her name is before the convention and that she have recorded for the historical record her delegate votes. I think if she does this she will have to concede nothing. It is important that each of us lets her know that we will stand with her, we have her back and only if she continues the race can she/will she win. If she concedes before the convention, her great struggle and historic run will be lost to history.
