A Devastating Bombshell on Obama Will Be Dropped Tomorrow [VIDEO UPDATE]

  • John Fund of the Wall Street Journal was on Laura Ingraham’s show this morning, talking about the bombshell, according to our own No Quarter author Bud White.
  • Bob Beckel, Democratic analyst for Fox News, reported on TV already that a “bombshell” is coming out tomorrow

VIDEO BELOW. Here are written reports to date (and I will ADD MORE as they come in) — and I am adding the DEVASTATING electoral college projections up at HillBuzz that further underscore Obama’s unelectability. Obama is toast.

John Fund, Wall Street Journal:

“Indeed, rumors are swirling on the campaign trail that a new video will soon surface featuring Mrs. Obama appearing on a panel with radical speakers during which she makes more controversial statements.”

Bob Beckel on Fox News, via HillBuzz blog:

he has been told by numerous people,(enough and in a way that convinced him) that a bombshell will be dropping tomorrow about Michele Obama.

The Friends turned white and asked what it might be…was it worse than a college thesis? Bob said—Oh yes, in a BIG way. He said that the Repubs were behind it and it was dumb because it meant that Mrs. Clinton would be the nominee.

READ THAT ONE AGAIN: “it meant that Mrs. Clinton would be the nominee …”

I AM PUTTING A LINK TO THE VIDEO BELOW THE FOLD TO LESSEN STRESS ON THE SERVER:

The original link TO THE VIDEO is here.

THIS, to me, is especially stunning because Bob Beckel, in all of his analyst appearances on Fox News, has clearly been “in the tank” for Barack Obama. If HE concedes that this finishes Barack Obama, that is very telling.

MORE COMING … STAY TUNED!

I am posting this, then adding links to all of Larry Johnson’s stories on this tape.

VISIT HILLBUZZ and thank them for their reporting.

I can see it now, them scrambling around trying to find a Michelle Obama look alike, paying her off to make a video saying “Whitey.” *Rolls Eyes*

If it’s there to “bombshell” her with then it would have already made all headlines. BS!

AW are you out of your mind? When has the media EVER HEADLINED ANYTHING BAD ABOUT OBAMA except for Fox? They tried to excuse Wright they covered all his other sleazey connections and everything else.

What better way to Humiliate Barry than to wait til he has got the delegates and then break the story, bringing him crashing. Sounds like a tactic of, oh, i don’t know. Obama?

Comment by catherine | 2008-06-03 19:17:35

Agreed. Not only humiliate Barry but the morons within the DNC and MSM who have been foisting him upon the American people without the proper vetting.

Once this and other videos are released showing the Obomas being themselves, it will spell the end of the shoe shine boy’s run for the White House.
Vote your race!
As muck as I don’t like the other candidate, I’ll vote for him just so I can say I did my part in trying to keep a black from becoming president.

First of all, this is my first visit to this website and was almost my last when I read this ignorant reply. I apologize, maybe the person that typed this comments is as bright as Barack Obama or Michelle Obama and maybe this person went to an Ivy League school like Michelle and Barack, who became lawyers and who were offered positions as lawyers at top notch law firms or some other professional career like a doctor or engineer. Judging from the comments made in the post and the typing errors, I think this is another one of those “hardworking white blue collar workers” that will not vote for Barack because of the color of Barack’s skin.

You ignorant people would rather elect a man who says that the economy is not that bad off since Bush has been in office and would continue the war in Iran for another fifty to one hundred years, where many of our county’s men and women are being killed fighting another country’s war, while the cost of gas will continue to rise, the cost of food will continue to rise, where people’s home will continue to be foreclosed upon, causing people to lose their homes, leaving people scrambling to find shelter, where people will be without healthcare unless they can afford it,(McCain said that he doesn’t really want to change healthcare as it is presently) where jobs will continue to be outsourced, causing factories to continue to close and hundreds and thousands of Americans to lose their jobs. You would rather have a republican elected and have this country suffer, which is what you would really be doing by electing another Bush, just because Barack’s skin is black. You really are ignorant and deserve just what you and anyone else who would elect a person that shares the views of Bush when our country is already in such chaos.

Many “hardworking white blue collar workers”, also known as racists like yourself are going to cause our country to remain stagnant or get worse.

True ignorance at its finest!!!

YOU CERTAINLY WERE ABSOLUTELY CORRECT. THE OBAMAS ARE NOT ONLY SMART BUT ALSO COMMITTED TO JUSTICE AND FAIRNESS. THEY INVOLVED THEMSELVES IN HELPING THE OPPRESSED IN CHICAGO LONG BEFORE BARACK HAD EVEN FIGURED THAT HE WOULD HAVE TO ASPIRE TO A MORE INFLUENTIAL POSITION ,IF HE WANTED TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEMS OF A VERY UNFAIR WORLD . YOU BET ‘SWIFT BOATERS’ ARE SHARPENING THEIR SKILLS EVEN AS WE WRITE .

Comment by s. hall | 2008-06-03 11:25:28

There aren’t enough ways to say thank you to you for bringing out this story. I believe McCain wants this out because he loves this country and he would rather have an opponent who loves this country as much as he does. He said some really nice things about Hillary yesterday.

Comment by Gabrielle | 2008-06-03 17:45:24

I have to agree with S. Hall. I think McCain loves his country as much as Hillary. Assuming he has any say over the release of the tape, I would say perhaps he just wants to make sure that a good person gets in the White House. I know that’s sort of stretching, as politicians love their power. But at some point, you just gotta step back and look at what MIGHT happen.

I’m just praying this is what we think it is and that it will wake people up to the racist, misogynist, lying, no experience hack/thug that Obama really is.

Comment by Kinky Ogremann | 2008-06-03 18:46:27

I think you’re giving McCain too much credit - he’s a politician like the rest of them and knows how to play dirty. If anything, the tape probably came about before Oct because Rove showed it to too many people and with the internet today, this stuff can’t stay hidden as long. People gossip - even rich donors.

Comment by s. hall | 2008-06-04 00:44:03

Sounds like the Republicans have decided to wait until October for their surprise except it won’t be a surprise. Obama will pull the same thing on the Republicans that He did on the Clintons — the victimization. They are all out to get me because they are afraid of my message. My color frightens them but we can’t allow them to hold us back — we have a mission — blah blah blah. Obama is one scary dude because he stands for nothing but power. If they have the goods on him they should use it now. With everyday that passes he gets stronger because his followers will have surrendered their souls to him. Show it now before its too late.

Comment by Hanna | 2008-06-03 19:06:08

Well said. I agree. If this video comes out soon - then I think McCain and the Republicans were ultimately so disgusted by the Obama campaign they decided to release it. The McCain bloggers have been - for the most part -incredibly nice to Hillary supporters, so it wouldn’t surprise me

After observing all those WILD and uncontrollable savages in the God Damn America Church in inner city Chicago cheering Reverend Wright and Father Pfleger, I would not be surprised if Michelle Obama appeared on video with Farrakhan criticizing whitey. Similar to the congregation of the God Damn America Church, she too is violent and misinformed. She and the members of the God Damn America church are typical Obama supporters: violent, uneducated, and easily duped by images and words.

Also, he has seen the nasty politics and “below the belt tactics” of the Obama campaign, and would prefer to be above that.

Tell her she is wrong when she is right.
Blame Florida when the DNC took away their delegates. Stick up for a THUG who everybody knows stalled the revote plans. And then insult her intelligence and her character. TYPICAL OBAMA A$$HOLE.

Adam, or any Obamatite:

Please explain the point below. I’ve been waiting for a response to this from any troll.

If the decision by Obama to take his name off the ballot in Michigan was based on “principle”, WHY DID HIS NAME REMAIN ON THE BALLOT IN FLORIDA?

Comment by Adam H. | 2008-06-03 22:14:50

Because he could not remove it under the law without dropping out of the race entirely.

I know this, and I’m not from the US. Why didn’t you look it up? Too busy with your little insults to educate yourself?

Comment by sumuchtusay | 2008-06-04 00:31:15

Really? You found my inquiry insulting? Thin skinned you are. Golly-gee, you may have a nervous breakdown when you see the tape. Maybe you will have to return to that foreign land from whence you came…”not from the ‘US’”.

Thanks for sharing with us and promoting unity, Adam.

Comment by Adam H. | 2008-06-04 00:54:31

I certainly hope that he is “classy” enough for you. I’m going to study trolls from now on. So fascinating. Peeking into your wittle psyches. Pwitty-pweez, visit often and share.

IS WAITING TO RELEASE IT AFTER SHE BOWS OUT THEN IT WILL DO THE MOST DAMAGE THE D.N.C. WILL THEN TRY TO GET CLINTON BACK BUT BY THEN THE PARTY WILL BE TOO SCREWED UP (not that they aren’t srewed up already !) Well, Anne, this is a geat way to purge the party of all those extreme left wingers. Come to think of it, the republicans have sort of purged their party as well by nominating a moderate like McCain. Weird huh? Maybe the people will have their say after all. I truly believe the average American is a good person, middle of the road, multi cultered, hard working, kind, and just trying to make it through the day. We don’t want to rule the world and we don’t want to take what’s not ours. BUT WE DON’T LIKE GETTING SCREWED.

Comment by chklaver | 2008-06-03 16:35:49

His whole campaign has been about “Change,” and getting rid of “Politics as usual,” and yet his tactics are anything but change (Chicago political machine). But as long as Obama does it, it’s all OK with the Obama supporters…He is altruistic and saintly… and goddamn you if you think otherwise..

Time to wake up people!

You would think the DNC would be happy that they have a chance to go with the candidate who can actually win a general election: Hillary Clinton.

But, no — they’re more interested in - what? - making history, pushing the Clintons out, I have no idea.

Or, maybe they are really drinking their own koolaid re: “the new map.”

They (Dean, Brazile, Pelosi, et al) will not admit that the last 3 months of primaries reveal serious buyers’ remorse over Obama.

Indiana, Montana, South Dakota — states Obama was supposed to win. Plus blowouts in the southern states.

They wanted Hillary to drop out early to HIDE Obama’s weaknesses.

If Hilllary had dropped out after Super Tuesday, the DNC would have had to deal with the reality of a seriously flawed candidate in the general election.

Hillary is the true patriot in the Democratic Party. She hung in, took all the beat-downs because she knew she was the best chance for the party winning in November.

I bet some men wouldn’t have held up as well as she did.

Of course, the super dels will probably still push Obama over the finish line. They dare not offend the African American vote.

But here’s my question: if we are to become a truly colorblind and gender-blind nation. We have to have the cojones to say someone is NOT a good choice no matter what their race or gender.

If we’re still worried about “offending” a group, then we’re still stuck in a biased state of mind.

Its over, your choice is keating 5, 100 years war, GB tax cuts for the rich (even though he opposed them 3 years ago) cant tell the difference between terrorist groups, dumped his sick wife for a rich trophy wife McCain or Obama.

Really folks, I worked on Bill Clintons campaign as a student organizer, I’ve met them both and have the deepest respect for Hillary. Shes run an incredible race, but even she will tell you all now she’s lost and its not the press, or dirty tricks or anything other than a hard fought race against a worthy adversary that didnt turn out as she hoped.

Face facts, for 2 months the MSM ran Rev Wright videos, bitter comments, etc etc. Hillary had her own stretch of fawning press coverage last fall and winter and was all but handed the crown before the race began. HEr campaign made tactical errors assuming this would be over in February. She had her Bosnia lie moment that certainly didnt help.

She also had serious baggae with her husbands library donors and other issue’s the Obama camp left alone that Republicans couldnt wait to jump on. The right is playing you Hillary supporters like chumps, the only reason they left her alone since February was to drag this race out and damage the parties chances….and the only reason McCain is playing nice now with her is to lure gullible voters into supporting him out of anger.

Take a few moments, watch what Hillary did at AIPAC, watch her speech this saturday and understand that the candidate you supported so passsionatly is now supporting Obama.

I truly hope given time most will see through McCains policies. The man is a ticking time bomb, 72 years old and stuanchly pro life. He may have a shot at appointing 4 supreme court justices and has promised the far right they would be conservative.

This country is at an all time low in so many ways? 2 wars, A housing crisis, a massive deficit, out of control energy costs…..McCain is no maverick….you are considering rewarding the party who has brought you this mess by voting for McCain simply because your chosen candidate lost a primary? Really, thats not what she’d want you to do…please reveiw the facts, take time to get beyond the emotional impact of her loss and lets get a Democrat in the Whitehouse.

I also noticed that the headlines were screaming yesterday that 17 Senators that were coming out for Obama.

Now there’s a story out that the Senators held a late night session and couldn’t agree.

Then comes the AP headline that Clinton is conceding. Followed by some headlines/stories contradicting that.

You would think that the major story story would be about the 17 Senators that apparently changed their minds since according to the media it was a done deal.

Also no major headlines about the South Dakota Commissioners backing Hillary.

Instead there are confusing stories about Clinton conceding (or not).

For those who say Hillary’s camp put this out it makes no sense. It would discourage HER OWN VOTERS.

First the story was that Hillary’s campaign head said it. They made it sound like a statement of fact given to them directly. It was (supposedly) confirmed by and aide who “overheard” the conversation.

You know what happens when you eavesdrop. You rarely get the whole story.

We certainly live in interesting times.

What Obama did today was to pretend that he had the Super Delegates in his pocket and said he was the nominee. But that is Obama — he is not a man of principle — he is a man who will do whatever it takes to get what he wants. We can see it why can’t our leaders. There are none so blind as those who will not see.

Comment by troy m | 2008-06-03 18:59:40

Comment by rwc | 2008-06-03 11:45:20

The tape will not have help get Hillary the nomination. The DNC and Congressional Democrats along with SD’s have made abundantly clear they DO NOT WANT a Clinton on the ticket.

Nor will the tape magically sway all those kool-aid drinkers Barky has on his side. If all the crap thats come out on about Barky’s “friends” and his own numerous gaffes hasn’t made them question their loyalty to the messiah, a video of Michelle ranting about whitey won’t do it either.

And the SD’s, the same thing applies. If nothing so far has shaken them, the video won’t do it. IMO many of them are probably as racist and hate America as much as Barky does.

Hell they just dis-enfranchised 2 states by fiat, do you folks really think they’ll cave over a video and give Hillary the nomination?

Remember Obama was chosen by the DNC and party elite back in 2004 as their choice for president. Not Hillary, Edwards or any of the others.

The game was rigged before it began.

I respectfully disagree. Obarf is hemmoraging voters as we speak, any more scandals and it will sink the ship. It’s called the final straw. Why do you think the trolls are out in mass? It’s called fear.

Comment by Marigat | 2008-06-03 11:45:26

Why tomorrow? I can buy McCain wanting to take no chances on an Obama presidency (even though there is enough to bury Barry without a Michelle tape). But why tomorrow?

To make the SDs endorsing Obama tomorrow look like idiots and throw the Dems into a bit of disarray for old times’ sake?

In any case, my fingers are crossed!

Comment by LBJ's Love Child | 2008-06-03 12:05:05

Why tomorrow?

They want to release it AFTER all the primaries so they can’t be accused of “interfering” with the special “Democratic™” process. This way, by removing the voters from reacting against the video, the most pressure is applied to the DNC and the Super Delegates.

It exposes their weakness and “backroom” thievery. The GOP gets to continue to use it as a campaign issue. Ill timed, I think (for their maximum benefit), but then, we are dealing with Republicans on this.

As much as i want this tape to surface, something still doesn’t make sense to me. If only the republicans actually have this tape why would they let it out now? It would be their best play to hold onto it to destroy BO in the general.

Comment by **== President & Commander-in-Chief Hillary Clinton **== | | 2008-06-03 11:56:59

The GOP would release it now since they would rather take their chances with Hillary than Obama. There’s no guarantee McCain beats Obama in the GE.

Because of the information leak, it would be anti climactic to play it several months from now.

GOP releases it now because they realize continuing this mess in the Democratic party is more beneficial than waiting to pounce on Obama. This way, they destroy a whole party instead of one man.

No matter how you felt or feel about the Vietnam War, can you image how John McCain must feel now?

After the years as a POW, all the time in political service to his country, and now 40 years later that same country, to which he has dedicated his life, has the audacity to select a Marxist, socialist, neo-communist racist to oppose him in the Presidential election.

I bet all he can say is:

“Is this country great or what? But the next time let’s make damn sure we win the war completely, totally. And by the way my friends, it sure feels great to be 31 again.”

Interesting, now I know there is some kind of tape as to what is on it well we will have to wait and see, but if Beckel of all people says he is worried then it is major.

He was never one to have anything good to say about Hillary he was calling for her to drop out months ago, he even seems to be doing a little flip flop on the VP post when he always stated it should never happen.

All we need now is ToeJam Dick to say he is worried and then I know Obama is toast.

WARNING: THEY ARE ATTEMPTING TO MONITOR COMMENTS AND BLOCK COMMENTS THAT ARE NOT IN KEEPING WITH THE L.J. TALKING POINTS

OK, just now getting the opportunity to read through more of the posts on this site and get a feel for what this is all about….

I’M ABOUT 95% SURE THE VAST MAJORITY OF POSTS HERE ARE FROM REPUBLICANS ATTEMPTING TO SABOTAGE THE OBAMA CAMPAIGN.

I base this on a few observations: (1) you guys are not interested in actual facts (anytime me or anyone else — see “Incredulous”s posts in particular); (2) you ignore/do not directly respond to the legitimate, factually accurate arguments people make which contradict your claims; and (3) you are repeatedly citing Republican talking points and/or desperate made-up rumors about Obama for your arguments.

I have to suspect Hillary would be very disappointed in the ignorant and indeed, racist silliness you guys are putting forth here. I have one question for you: if Hillary leaves the race and ends up endorsing and supporting Obama, will you continue to hate Obama and vote for McCain (and, therefore, allow the country to enter a continuation of GWB’s disastrous policies that serve only to make things better for the rich and well-connected and cause the rest of us to suffer)?

Surely, if you are true Hillary supporters and/or true Democrats you will vote for Obama if Hillary tells you it is the best thing to do for the country, won’t you? If you don’t I can only suspect that you are not true Democrats, anyway… in which case I think the party will be just fine without you.

We were expecting for another false victory claim this evening. After listening to Hillary’s Puerto Rico victory speech on Sunday it was abundantly clear to me Hillary was staying the course and will ultimately be the nominee and president.

Video part 1 of her victory speech.

Video part 2 of her victory speech.

Here’s also the transcript, it will ease any anxiety folks are having:

June 1, 2008
Hillary’s Remarks at the Victory Celebration in San Juan, Puerto Rico

Thank you so much. I have four words for you: Te quiero Puerto Rico!

Never before have these beautiful islands had such an important voice in a presidential election. And I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here. I cannot thank you all enough. Bill and Chelsea and I are so grateful to the bottom of our hearts for your generosity and your kindness, and I hope that we have helped to draw attention to the concerns of Puerto Rico and we have also helped to spotlight the beauty and the spirit of this wonderful place.

I am grateful for this show of overwhelming support. I came to Puerto Rico to listen to your voices because your voices deserve to be heard. And I hear you, and I see you, and I will always stand up for you.

I also want to recognize Senator Obama and his supporters. Our two campaigns have turned out record numbers of new voters, determined to chart a new course for America. Now, this primary election has been hard fought because there is so much at stake and we must elect a Democratic president.

I am I am overwhelmed by this vote today and I cannot complete this journey without your help. We have two contests left in South Dakota and Montana, and you can make the difference by visiting hillaryclinton.com and helping us make sure we go strong. Every contribution will help us make our case to the voters who are going to be heading to the polls.

And I want you to know that this election is really about your future. You voted even though some tried to tell you that your votes wouldn’t count. You voted for the person you believe will be the stronger nominee and the strongest president. And you are not alone. You are joining millions of people across the United States, more than 17.6 million, plus the votes that we’ve received today. People who don’t always make the headlines; who don’t always feel like your voices are being heard.

I think about these people all the time, because that’s who I care most about. The nurse on her second shift who still can’t pay her credit card bills; the worker who can’t afford the gas on the way to work, the waitress on her feet without health care. The small business owners saddled with rising energy bills; the college student who can’t afford to continue college; the farmer, the teacher, the trucker, the soldier, the veteran. The people yearning for a president who will rebuild the economy and a Commander-in-Chief who will restore our leadership and moral authority in the world.

I know that people face tough times. But what I’ve been impressed by is the resourcefulness and resilience that the people here and across the United States use to face whatever challenges they confront, because they believe they can keep working for a better tomorrow. The American Dream may bend under the weight of challenges we failed to meet and presidents who have failed to lead. It may bend, but it will never break, because that’s what keeps so many of us going; the thought of a better life tomorrow and a better future for our children.

I believe that the people of the United States need a champion in the White House, someone who will be a president in their corner and on their side. I believe you are voting because you want a president who will stand up for universal health care. Who will stand up for action to address the housing crisis, who will stand up for better jobs to protect Social Security. You want to cut through the speeches and the sound-bites to real solutions.

And so today you’ve come out strong. You have defied the skeptics. More people across the country have voted for our campaign, more people have voted for us than for any candidate in the history of presidential primaries.

We are winning the popular vote. Now, there can be no doubt, the people have spoken and you have chosen your candidate. And it’s important where we have won. We are winning these votes in swing states and among the very swing voters that Democrats must win to take back the White House and put this country back on the path to prosperity. Together, we’ve won the battleground states of Pennsylvania, Ohio, Arkansas, West Virginia, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, and, yes, Michigan and Florida.

And I hope by my second term, regardless of what the people of Puerto Rico decide about the status option you prefer, you too will be able to vote for the next president of the United States.

So, when the voting concludes on Tuesday, neither Senator Obama nor I will have the number of delegates to be the nominee. I will lead the popular vote. He will maintain a slight lead in the delegate count. The decision will fall on the shoulders of those leaders in our party empowered by the rules to vote at the Democratic Convention.

I do not envy the decision you must make, but a decision has to be made, and in the final assessment, I ask you to consider these questions: Which candidate best represents the will of the people who voted in this historic primary? Which candidate is best able to lead to us victory in November? And which candidate is best able to lead our nation as our president in the face of unprecedented challenges at home and abroad?

I am in this race because I believe I am that candidate, and I will be that president. We are winning the popular vote because we have stood for the core principle of our party, a party that believes in universal health care - no one left out. A party that believes hard working, middle-class families deserve a fair shot at the American Dream, a party that believes we must bring our troops home from Iraq safely, responsibly, and honorably. A party that cherishes every child, values every family, and counts every single vote.

We are winning against John McCain and beating him in the key states. We have what it takes to get the 270 electoral votes necessary to win the White House. And the majority of voters know who is ready on Day One to serve as our president. A president who will bring strength, knowledge, and experience to the White House to solve our toughest problems. A president who knows firsthand the challenges of the job, as well as its power to make a positive difference in people’s lives.

That’s why I’m in this race. Ultimately it’s not about Senator Obama or me. It’s about you - your hopes, your interests, your futures. It’s about the direction we choose as a nation. With two wars abroad and an economic crisis at home, we have to get this right. Our country cannot afford four more years of more of the same.

So, today Puerto Ricans across this beautiful place that I have come to enjoy so much made your voices heard and your votes counted, and for that, I want to thank my co-chairs, Senate President Kenneth McClintock and Puerto Rico Democratic Chair Roberto Prats, political directors Rafi Rodriguez Aguayo and Representative Jorge Colberg, Elections Representatives, Representative “Junior” Gonzalez and Rene Estades. Jose Hernandez Mayoral, Former Governor Carlos Romero, Miguel Lausell, Virgilio Ramos, and Luisette Cabanas. And special thank you to coordinator Ramon Luis Lugo, deputy coordinator Francisco Domenech, and advisor Jeffrey Farrow.

And I want to thank all of my volunteers, my staff, my supporters; everyone who waved at us as we caravanned all day yesterday. And I want to reiterate what I have said across Puerto Rico, together, in my first term, we will finally enable the status question to be resolved, based on the principles that government should be representative at all levels, and the people of Puerto Rico deserve the opportunity to choose from among all of the options.

Together we will work to ensure that Puerto Rico is treated equally when it comes to Medicare and Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program, tax breaks for creating jobs, and more. I will be your champion. And I want to thank all of my friends in our labor unions, all of them who have done so much for us. It has been a joy to work with every single union that has been here supporting me. We would not be here without you tonight. And I want to say a special word of thanks to the Hispanic community, not just in Puerto Rico, but across the United States. I am so honored you have stood by me throughout this campaign. I am grateful for your love, your friendship, and your support.

What we have seen in this campaign and what we have always known is that Hispanic Americans, Latinos from every part of Latin America, care deeply about the future of the United States. You contribute so much to the greatness of this country, to business and academia, to labor, to the professions, to entertainment, to sports, to every part of society. And you have also contributed greatly to expanding the horizons and the diversity of our country. I am so grateful to you, and I am so proud of the support you have given me.

I also wish to thank my family for their incredible love and support, Bill and Chelsea, my mother, my brothers, Hugh and Tony, my sister-in-laws, Maria and Megan, and all who are helping here in Puerto Rico and South Dakota and Montana. Because we are in this to choose a candidate who we know will not only stand up for us but unite us. We will be strengthened by the enthusiasm of the millions of people who have voted and volunteered in all of these contests. We are propelled by this unique moment in history.

The campaign has been an extraordinary journey, and I am grateful for every day of it; every single day something happens which reinforces my commitment and lifts my spirits. It might be a young child who is introduced and says, “I want to grow up to be president.” It might be a young mother who says, “I have no health insurance. I hope you will help me.” It might be an older man, who says, “I am a veteran, but I cannot get the help I deserve.”

Every story like that reinforces my commitment to what we are doing together. People deserve better from their government. The people of Puerto Rico deserve better from the federal government. So, I call on you to travel this final stretch with me, to join me as we take America back and lead our country with confidence and optimism into this new century.

Let’s keep fighting for our dream. Let’s keep fighting for what we believe. Let’s keep fighting for one another. Let’s keep fighting for America. America is worth fighting for. Thank you, and God bless you and God bless America.

But, the fact that he mentions it at all indicates that there is something to be worried about.

Sadly, the important thing is that it keeps being talked about, not whether or not it’s true.

OK, OK, OK. Obama, like McCain is the presumptive nominee.

It changes nothing. And we’ve been hearing these “Ooooh there’s this video coming out tomorrow, it’ll change everything” stories over at Taylor Marsh for months now. It’s put up or shut up time.

Wake me when something happens. Obama’s the next president. Get used to it.

Comment by Patrick Walker | 2008-06-03 20:24:59

The confidence expressed is eerily similar to that of Kerry supporters on election night 2004.

You can forgive us if we feel we need a candidate that can at least garner a sizable lead in many states.

If the electionwere held tomorrow, he’d lose. It’s also interesting how Obamabots told everyone you’ll like him when you get to know him.. Speaking as someone who wasn’t exactly very nice to Hillary, the more I got to know him, the more I began to like her. It’s also being reflected in primary results.

What the Obamabots do is scream racism! Racism! She won by huge margins in three of the last four contents. WV, KY and PR. Their kneejerk reaction was to paint those voters as hillbilly racists. I know for a fact that Jesse Jackson won Puerto Rico in 1988 and I think he cam in second behind Dukakis in WV in ‘88 as well (I can’t remember if it was Jesse or Al that came in second). To say these people are racists is dangerous and the implication being put forward by the Obama camp ensures that these voters withhold their vote, or worse, flock to McCain in November should make them rethink their strategies.

With supporters like Obama has, does he need enemies. He already has monumental problems of his own to worry about the next generation of McGoverniks.

Comment by catriley | 2008-06-03 12:23:20

You know, Scott, I was thinking about Obama’s “dem for a day” tactic to game the primary voting. I guess turnabout is fair play when the Dems are “repubs for a day” in November, if he is the nominee. Sometimes those dirty tricks come back to bite you in the ass. They should have thought of that when they employed every trick necessary to secure the nomination… the Obamabots always forget that there is an election in November. I’m thinking that many of them don’t realize that getting the nomination doesn’t mean you aren’t president.

But.. Obama’s style has always been to disqualify people running against him, on technicalities, but then he gets the job and he gets bored with it, and he does a pretty mediocre job of it.

It seems to me that the trolls really are just paid creatures since they seem to know very little about the democratic process. In the end they all turn to the name calling “insults”, which by the way roll like water off our backs. Calling people names in no way changes their minds. Unless they are really doing it for pay, there is no reason for them to be here.

Comment by Lucinda | 2008-06-03 18:50:09

Agreed. I have never seen a more ignorant pack of jackals who think they are going to lecture US on election rules!

Unlike most of you Obamabrats this is’nt our first election. We’re QUITE familiar with the process. Even McCain is the presumptive nom until his party OFFICIALLY makes him so at their convention. The repubs don’t have SD’s, but we do and until our convention in August NONE of their endorsements are binding until they cast their VOTES and not a day sooner! Just think of all the wonderful dirty Obama secrets that are going to be revealed from now until then.

Can you smell the sewage? Don’t worry, it’s coming from Chicago and will soon have superdelegates running towards Hillary to save them from Typhoid Barry.

UP-TO-NOW PRO-OBAMA YAHOO NEWS:

Obama’s Pyrrhic Michigan Victory

Thurlow Weed
Mon Jun 2, 2008

Yesterday’s DNC decision to award Obama delegates in Michigan even though he was not on the ballot surely seemed plausible to Democratic leaders trying to find a way out of their dilemma. The idea of splitting the baby in Michigan and Florida, seating the delegates while cutting their voting strength, was always a natural one, and in and of itself will cause little problem.

But the Michigan decision is a jaw dropper. By setting aside election results to Hillary’s disadvantage, the DNC has saddled its likely nominee with an enraged opponent who now has every incentive to carry the fight through the summertime. Simultaneously, it has told Michigan voters that the DNC - and by extension, its nominee, Obama - is willing to set aside election results it does not like. That cannot have a positive effect on Michigan swing voters - and Obama needs to carry Michigan in the fall to have any shot at victory.

The Clintons’ unwillingness to accept defeat is legendary. Yet the DNC has thrown sand in the face of a candidate who is already claiming sexism underlies the opposition to her campaign. Never underestimate the fury of a woman scorned, the adage goes.

Now she can stay in the race with yet another rationale for her candidacy - she is fighting for democratic principles. And her working class voters in Michigan will hear that message.

This decision violates a cardinal rule of warfare first promulgated by the Chinese strategist Sun Tzu in his classic The Art of War - always give your enemy the opportunity to retreat. The corollary to a political campaign is that one must always give one’s opponent the opportunity to bow out gracefully. Manipulating the rules to ensure Hillary cannot possibly win does not give her that opportunity, and given the psychology of the individual in question, virtually ensures a continued battle.

In Obama’s favorite game, basketball, trash talk and demonstrating your dominance by dunking the ball over your opponent is expected. Employing these tactics in politics, particularly intra-party politics, is not very good sense.

It is particularly poor sense given that Obama was going to win the nomination anyway because the clear sense of the superdelegates is to back Obama and end the fight. This decision was as unnecessary as it is inflammatory.

It is exhibits even poorer sense because Obama is unlikely to win a close general election without Michigan.

Look at the map. If McCain keeps the Bush states, he wins. Florida looks like a lock for McCain for many reasons, which make Ohio, Virginia, Missouri, and the Rocky Mountain states the keys for Obama. Of those, even now McCain generally leads in the first three (he is behind in the Real Clear Politics Ohio poll average only on the strength of one poll which frankly I don’t believe - Obama cannot be ahead by 9 in Ohio, a GOP leaning swing state, and by only 1-2 nationwide) and the demographics of those states suggest he is likely to win them so long as McCain keeps his national popular vote percentage in the 48-49 range, which the polls suggest he can. Obama then wins if he can take the Rocky Mountain states (Colorado, Nevada and New Mexico) where the polls now show him ahead, plus hold New Hampshire and take Iowa. This is all plausible - here the demographics or state effects all favor Obama (except New Hampshire, which seems even or slightly favors McCain). But note this assumes he holds the swing states of Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

Recent polls show Obama leading in three of those four. But McCain leads in all three of the most recent Michigan polls. Any guess what might be the reason? Any guess as to whether the swing working class whites Obama needs to carry Michigan will be more likely to back him after yesterday’s vote?

The depth of Obama’s Michigan problem becomes even clearer when one looks at electoral history. Michigan and Pennsylvania are the Bobbsie twins of American politics. Both states were between 1.5 and 2 points less Republican in each of the last three presidential elections. They are demographically similar, with large working class populations who provide the crucial margins for Democratic Presidential candidates. In fact, the last time these states voted for different Presidential candidates when there was not a Michigan native (Ford in 1976) on the ticket was 1940.

Yet today, Obama leads in PA by an average of 5.8 percent while trailing in Michigan. One does not need to look far to ascertain why.

This ill-advised decision should hearten McCain backers everywhere. Come November, they might look to May 31 as the day their candidate locked up the election.

you’re saying some ridiculous things - how dare you classify an entire congregation of one church. it sounds like you’ve never been to church - otherwise you’d know that a lot of people disagree with what their pastor says - just like not everyone agrees with what their preferred candidate says.

wild and uncontrollable savages? absolutely terrible - you should be ashamed of yourself.

AP, namely Beth Fouhy and Nedra Pickler, have been the most unprofessional Obama cheerleaders in this primary. AP is entirely in the tank for Obama. I’m not sure what the connection is… after seeing the twittering idiots salivating over Obama’s ass in jeans, on his plane, I can only imagine it’s a schoolgirl crush. If I owned a media outlet, I would shift my traveling correspondents back and forth every few weeks from candidate to candidate to keep from having these kinds of crushes from ruining your coverage.

Of course Fouhy, Pickler, Babbington, Espo, et al, were all responsible for the most vile and snarky writing about Al Gore in 2000.

The wife of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama told a few hundred supporters gathered at the Billings Hotel and Convention Center they had to remain active in their communities and do their own research on issues in order the change the country’s political path.

“The way this campaign has been run is the way we need to be forever,” Obama said. “Don’t trust bloggers or someone else’s opinion, because people lie.”

I don’t really care if the democratic party and the superdelegates don’t want Clinton, we the people do. Secondly, the superdelegates have made money from the Obama campaign and Clinton didn’t have it to spare. She ran a clean campaign. She and Bill Clinton are true democrats. They are the best example of the democratic party. If the party elite and far left can’t see it, then they need to go. Howard Dean and Brazille take a hike we don’t want you in our party. You manipulated this election and the people screamed NO WAY. You ignored them. Whatever it takes we need to cleanse our party of these radicals and liars. Next we need to cleanse the mass media. We’ve got a lot of work to do. Go Hillary I knew you could do it. The best for our country. No Obamas not ever.

Rezko trial: Are we there yet?

Jurors started their deliberations again at 9:15 a.m. this morning, after sending Judge Amy St. Eve a note yesterday saying they were deadlocked on one count.

To address questions: The judge does have the option of accepting a partial verdict on the counts, which jurors have unanimously decided. She would declare a mistrial on the remaining counts.

Comment by cynic454 | 2008-06-03 12:42:54

A take on the tape:

I believe that the tape, if as detrimental as these sources say it is (beckel, WSJ) will sufficiently damage Obama’s run for the presidency that even if the SD’s give him the nomination the dem’s will lose the election. I believe they are not so stupid. There are three choices here:

1) run with Obama anyway, lose the election and credibility. Congress will begin to return to republican hands and the pres. will be republican. Dem’s will have hurt themselves so badly they won’t get a real shot at the white house for a long time. Dem congress has approval #’s lower than Bush and recently a video came out about how they played voters on the Iraq issue just to get elected. Tape will be played to nation and cause a deeper rift between races.

2) Tape will be played to nation. Dems will recognize that a candidate with racist leanings cannot represent nation and will lose against mccain. Dem’s want WH so bad they cannot let this chance go as they may not have another one for very long time. dem’s select clinton as nominee to go against mccain. rep’s ok with this because they know they don’t curry a lot of favor now and losing to obama could bring on radical left wing changes. Remember the 1994 “contract” the rep’s had which undid much of the legislation FDR and the dem’s had put in place? the rep’s remember this and they know that a radical pres. and congress can unravel the fabric of the US legislation in place. losing to clinton brings a pragmatic centrist goverment. both bill and she have shown themselves to be less than radical in the presidency and her senate work. She is a known quantity, obama is not.

3) obama may concede if the tape is serious enough to harm not only the party and its chances, but his own future. Once the tape is out he will never win another election, never sell another book, and his wife may lose her job at the university of chicago. the university of chicago is publicly and privately funded and many donors will be very unhappy at having someone with that type of racist belief on board (caveat - if that is really what is on the tape). Obama would stand to lose the most if the tape is played publicly. this won’t be his pastor talking but the person he and his children share their lives with.

It is possible that one of the reasons it has not come out yet is some negotiating going on behind the scenes that would allow Obama and the dems to make some kind of decision which would allow the dems and Obama to save face and their future.

If the tape is so bad that beckel feels it would destroy obama’s chances then it is bad enough to destroy the dem’s and obama personally as well.

We may see Obama pull out of the race or concede to clinton for some reason to prevent #3.

Reporting of Beckel’s comments has been over-hyped but he is definitely very grave - he knows the matter is serious and he is NOT HAPPY.

Whitey or “Why’d he”, if Michelle was sitting on a panel with Farrakhan at Obama’s “church”, the emptiness of Obama’s “I don’t known nothing ’bout birthin’ no racism” denials will be apparent even to the very stupid.

Why release the video tomorrow? Because Obama plans to annoint himself as the nominee today. When the tape comes out tomorrow, the real internecine battle begins. Neither Gore nor Hillary will be able to win in the aftermath. Look for savior Al Gore to step from the wings…

AP story based on promised support.

The AP tally was based on public commitments from delegates as well as more than a dozen private commitments. It also included a minimum number of delegates Obama was guaranteed even if he lost the final two primaries in South Dakota and Montana later in the day.

Comment by Mel | 2008-06-03 13:02:10

Did Obama pickup 360+ pledged delegates somehow totady, as the rules of the DNP state that a nominee can only be declare the nominee if he or she holds the needed total of delegates in the form of PLEDGED DELEGATES prior to the convention and last night Obama was short 360+ PLEDGED DELEGATES to reach the 2118 count!

I have to suspect Hillary would be very disappointed in the ignorant silliness you guys are putting forth here.

When this is proven to be a total fabrication/ hoax/lie/etc., you, LARRY JOHNSON and the rest of you FAKE DEMOCRATS owe the Democratic party and Barack Obama a huge apology. You just don’t make claims/smears like this without real proof! It is irresponsible, dishonest and rather desperate and it is exactly the type of thing that Democrats hated
the Republicans for doing in the past. you should be ashamed of yourselves.

Take care. And good luck

Comment by catriley | 2008-06-03 12:58:42

Well. THAT is where the AP story giving Obama the nomination comes from. Does AP have an office set up in Obama’s campaign?

So.. gosh, all Obama has to do is tell a reporter that ‘based on private talks with unnamed supers’ he has the delegates to take the nomination?

That so fucking outrageous!! The supers do not vote until August. They are SOOO desperate to get Hillary out before that tape comes out, and other shit hits the fan, that they are kitchen-sinking us today with AP as the faithful lapdog.

Clinton needs to respond NOW to the AP calling the race, especially based up Obama claiming to have the numbers (which can only be based on Superdelegates, which are not binding.)

I hope that the Clinton campaign is putting out a statement ASAP to counter APs attacks today.

Larry has forced this tape to the light of day sooner than the Republicans would have liked. Still, it works well for them, Obama and the press are falling all over themselves to knight him right now so that when the info comes out he will be entrenched. People will cry foul when the super delegates try to change their minds, which they are allowed to do up until August 25. By Pelosi and the others trying to wrap this up quick they’ll look really stupid now. It’s a catch 22, switch sides when it’s apparent there is no way in hell Obama will get the white vote or risk riots from blacks. There was an article linked to on Free Republic where a black woman in Chicago wrote an opinion piece that was all but encouraging them to do just that in code.

So, when Michelle is exposed as a racist what will they say? They were indignant about Imus and got him fired, the same with Dog the Bounty Hunter. The message was that we can’t tolerate racism. Well, the first lady does have a function and represents in those functions. We are voting for Obama but her two, so we can’t have a racist in the Whitey House, sorry.

I am still registered Democrat (for now). I have done my research. I went to the local Obama supporters website, and marked down everyone they endorsed, especially those they emphasized.

I found out who is the Clinton superdelegate in my district and who has been supporting Obama.

Can you believe, one guy on the list for the Party Central Committee is listed as a “digital media executive.” Riight. His name is Benjamin Arnon and he has a MySpace type page on MyBarackObama.com.

Well, Ben, I’m voting against you.

This whole business about some “tape” is not doing anyone any good. The assumption is that behind it all are angry racist hick Obama-haters…who therefore must be Clinton supporters…who are representative of the 17 million who voted for her…who are proving they are racist angry hicks (and old angry ladies.)

There is more reason to be FOR Clinton than to be against Obama.
One thing that really turned me away from the Obama campaign was that so many supporters seemed to have more to say about why they hated Clinton than why they were for him.

I hate to see the mirror image of that here.
Pushing this tape creates the impression that we need to dig up negatives on Obama in order for people to see the positives of Clinton. ( I say dig up - because this tape is rumored to be from years ago.)

Clinton is a strong and brilliant and experienced political leader who has demonstrated all that along with her perseverence. That speaks louder than any tape from Michelle Obama’s past.
(That, and the 17million votes she got).

No, there was no sexism. My thinking that you have no character has nothing to do with your gender, just your behaviour; so give up your whinging. Show some class, for pity’s sake. Stop using your gender as an excuse.

Let’s see, what else; oh, yes, personal attacks. You decided to do THAT in your first sentence, so you don’t get to complain about it.

Also, Obama didn’t make the rules; you blaming him for something he had no say in is desperation, pure and simple.

Remember a while ago when Hillary said:

I want to win on my own merit.”

What makes you think there is only one copy. Perhaps another copy has always been in the hands of a ethical adult who values a vote gained from winning the hearts and minds of us typical Americans. Rather then one gained through race bating, intimidation, lying media, lying surrogates, rigged elections, vote theft, sniper fire.

Of course, Michelle has been there all along. I believe she encouraged Obama to attend and join TUCC.

Other bombs:

Larry Sinclair allegations.

Donald Young murder.

Reverend Manning allegations (he claims solid proof).

Obama’s strong, long time ties to crime and corruption.

Obama’a strong ties to the Middle East.

More indictments after the rezko trial.

Democrat party fallout, Harriet Christian and others.

William Ayers ties.

Lawrence Lessig ties.

More Black Liberation Theology revelations.

There are more.
Stay tuned.

The American public will care about it and they will not vote for a candidate with ties to Farrakhan. Period. We Democrats can be such a spineless and ignorant bunch sometimes! We never think strategically, but the Republicans always do and they kick our asses time and time again because of it.

Michigan and Pennsylvania are the Bobbsie twins of American politics.

There’s a really interesting metaphor here somewhere but you missed it. There were four Bobbsey twins.

Bert and Nan, slim, brown-eyed, straight-haired brunette, the older of two sets of fraternal twins;
Flossie and Freddie, chubby, blue-eyed, curly-haired blonds), the younger twins.

And the international bankster profits from their ownership of the Fed, Bank of England, France, Germany, and all the rest of the central banks is used to created incredible power among which makes the U.S. nothing more than a giant Israeli whore house! The world faces the worst disaster in its written history by far!

Thats why a racist who hates America will never be President. This video will come out tomorrow, next week or whenever but when it does it will sink this man who wants to weaken this wonderful country. It will also take down those who had a quid pro quo to give him the nomination. If it destroys the Democratic Party than so be it. There are some things more important than party and that is our country which is bigger than any candidate.

There are two patriots in this race Hillary Clinton and John McCain — they both love this country and either would be a fine president. OBAMA IS NOT AN OPTION. God Bless America

It matters not to them that there is a plethora of information on Obama that is truly devastating. Racist Church? No problem, he didnt “HEAR” those sermons. Rezco is a crook? No Problem, He wasn’t really a friend of his. Bill Ayers? just a man down the street. Rev. Wright, Bernadine Dohrn, Farrahkan, The Crown family, etc. It is truly amazing. No wonder this country is going to Shit!

The republican trolls are out in force this week. Their latest smear of Michelle Obama is absolutely silly because it appears most of them can’t read. This supposed tape they keep talking about does exist with a transcript and I can tell you with 1000% surety she didn’t say say WHITEY when talking about President Bush, she said Why’d He like “why did he”. Here’s exactly what she said…

Why’d he cut folks off Medicaid?
Why’d he let New Orleans drown?
Why’d he do nothing about Jena?
Why’d he put us in Iraq for no reason?

Now republican butt kisser and neo-con Larry Johnson translated that into Whitey but everyone that has heard the tape has said and it’s clear she was saying “why’d he”. What bothers me more than anything is that there are a few Dems here who instead of checking this out for themselves just agreed with the trolls out of hand. Do the research people, don’t make yourself look foolish!

Comment by Tired of Liars | 2008-06-03 14:17:25

An important point. It doesn’t matter if Michelle Obama said the word “Whitey” or not.

We can’t let this turn into another George Bush National Guard Memo affair. If you’ll recall, during the Viet Nam War, George W. Bush received a transfer from the Texas National Guard to the Alabama National guard. However there was no record of George W. Bush reporting for National Guard duty in Alabama, and no eyewitnesses who could recall Bush reporting for duty in Alabama. The story should have been about Bush going AWOL. Instead we got into an argument about fonts, typefaces and typewriters and a memo. Because the memo was deemed fake, all other facts and evidence were ignored and Bush got off the hook.

Greg from Visalia, CA on myobama.com writes:

‘The ‘bombshell’ is a supposed rant against “Whitey”.

The reality is Michelle speaking against George W Bush. “Why’d he let those people die in New Orleans?” “Why’d he drop so many off of Medicare?” etc…

It boils down to slang. “Why’d he” versus “Whitey”.’

It’s interesting that Greg doesn’t deny the fact that Michelle Obama participated in the panel discussion, yet he only provides a portion of the remarks attributed to her (on mytowntalks.com):

“Once again, the white man keeps us down, what’s up with Whitey, Why’d he attack Iraq, Why’d he let Katrina happen, Why’d he leave millions of children behind. This is the legacy the white man gives us”

There are three portions of this quote, if accurate, would be offensive to most voters:

1. “Once again, the white man keeps us down… (No slang there.)
2. “What’s up with Whitey…” (No one says, “What’s up with why’d he?” or is this some new slang that was just invented?)
3. “This is the legacy the white man gives us.” (No slang there either).

The first question that needs to be asked of Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, and the Obama campaign is, did Michelle Obama participate in a panel discussion with Louis Farrakhan? The second question is, if so, what exactly was said by Mrs. Obama and the other participants? Third, if any of the other participants made generalizations about “the white man” what was her response? If the video shows her nodding in agreement, it is just as damning as if she had said the words herself. If the press won’t get answers to these questions, the leaders of the Democratic Party must, and they better be the right answers, because if this video turns out to be the October surprise that sinks Obama, they will be the ones who will be to blame.

Granted Barack Obama is the candidate, but when Eleanor Roosevelt became First Lady, a higher standard was set. Can you imagine, for example, Mrs. Roosevelt participating in a panel discussion in the 1930’s with a racist Southern Baptist preacher, and making sweeping negative statements about African-Americans? What if, in the 1980’s, Hillary Clinton had participated in a panel discussion with David Duke and had a few choice words of her own denigrating Black people and there was a video tape to prove it? It wouldn’t have mattered if she used a racial epithet or not. It would have disqualified her for First Lady in the eye of the American public. Bill Clinton would not have been elected in 1992.

So as this story unfolds (and it surely will) let’s keep our eyes on the real issue here. If it turns out Michelle Obama did not use the word “Whitey”, that’s not enough to let her off the hook. We need to know that she did not make racist remarks. We need to know that she did not sit silently by while others made racist remarks. We need to know that she conducted herself as a First Lady before doing so was required of her.

Comment by Mandelay | 2008-06-03 14:25:10

citizen wells, I think something really, really major is needed to knock Obama out of the race. Your list of “other bombs” has some duds in it:

Larry Sinclair allegations — it’s all over the place that he flunked a lie detector test so where can this go? If the point of this and the Lessig and Manning stuff is that Obama is a closet gay, then the proof of this would turn the political world upside down and shatter the Barack, Michelle, Two Little Girls image we’ve been fed… but, again, no proof.

Donald Young murder. — Again, connected to Sinclair who has been written up as having failed a lie detector test regarding these allegations.

Reverend Manning allegations (he claims solid proof) — the Rev. needs to show his proof now … what is he waiting for? I’ve seen his video on YouTube (Trinity of Hell). Aside from him sounding eerily like Al Gore (or vice versa) I don’t see proof of anything. I have stopped watching Oprah and come to believe she’s full of baloney, but where is Manning going? Wright and Obama and Winfrey are gay/lesbian? This isn’t going to take votes away from Obama (not from the new base he’s built … he has already told the white working class Dems that they’re not needed). The George Soros connection makes a lot of sense when you try to fathom why the media is so organized against Clinton, but where’s the proof? Meanwhile, Obama is still getting 90% of the black vote. In this world of media and marketing, Manning sounds like he’s nuts. Voters will laugh.

Obama’s strong, long time ties to crime and corruption — even the Chicago Tribune’s John Kass laments that it doesn’t stick to Obama the Corrupt

Obama’a strong ties to the Middle East — hasn’t made a dent and doesn’t stick, just like the “muslim label”

More indictments after the rezko trial — the only indictment that would matter is Obama himself.

Democrat party fallout, Harriet Christian and others — Harriet has been portrayed as some looney old lady on the t.v. news. I think she’s right on but she’s now been “positioned” and “marketed” as a looney tune so she won’t fly either.

William Ayers ties — unless Patrick Fitzgerald can open the whole can of worms and bring Obama into the center of the pay to pay corruption, the Ayers thing will not fly either, but maybe it can prevent some republicans from going over to Obama as many have said they might.

Lawrence Lessig ties. — I read about him on your blog, CitizenWells after I Googled the Lessig name. OK, I don’t think a Democratic candidate can lose a nomination based on associations with openly gay people. Hillary herself has had a share of “you are a lesbian” brickbats thrown at her. This is not going to shake up the Democratic base that has been built for Barack Obama. At worst, we’ll have a close election.

More Black Liberation Theology revelations — It appears nobody seems to give a damn about BLT. Obama dismisses BLT speech as belonging to “the past” … “the past” he is about to change for all of us.

I am staying tuned, but where’s the beef??????
Proof?????
At this point, Obama has enough Teflon to be mistaken for Ronald Reagan, but I am beginning to miss Reagan because of Obama.

As always, I say, Go Hillary! Best candidate for POTUS in 2008 — you better believe it.

The DNC’s decision to support Senator Obama is not based on any particular belief that he will make a great, or even good President. Instead, it is a simple political calculation made for and by down-ballot Democrats who want to get elected or re-elected. We may turn to McCain if she is rejected, and may turn out in great numbers to register our protest, but, the thinking goes, we are highly unlikely to vote straight ticket Republican. In other words, the down-ballot Democrats still will get our votes. At the same time, Senator Obama will draw many AAs who usually do not vote as well as a number of “new” voters nearly all of whom, while they are there, could be expected to vote for the other Democrats who are running. So, if one’s primary motivation is not the good of the country, or creating history by electing a truly qualified woman President, but instead is to get elected or re-elected as a Democrat, the only smart thing to do is make sure that Senator Obama is at the top of the ticket.

The only problem with the DNC analysis is that if things like the video are bad enough, it may draw even more Republicans and independents to the polls to vote against Obama, and fewer Democrats to vote for him.

Doesn’t the impact of Michelle Obama’s alleged statements lessen if she’s just in the presence of Louis Farrakhan’s wife, rather than the minister himself? Also, this event appears to have been sponsored by Rainbow/Operation Push, which is Jesse Jackson’s organization. While Democrats and Republicans alike would be outraged by a racist statement uttered next to Louis Farrakhan, many Democrats would find it hard to condemn something done under the auspices of Jesse Jackson.

Comment by MARJE | 2008-06-03 15:22:39

I HOPE THERE IS A TAPE TO PROVE ONCE AND FOR ALL THE TYPE OF PEOPLE WE ARE CONSIDERING TO LEAD OUR COUNTRY.I AGREE THAT H.C. SHOULD HAVE BROUGHT UP OBAMA’S “FRIENDS” THROUGHOUT HER CAMPAIGN. HOW CAN WE CONCENTRATE ON IMPORTANT ISSUES WHEN IN THE BACK OF OUR MINDS WE ARE WONDERING IF WE CAN TRUST THE CANDIDATE. OBAMA SHOULD HAVE HAD TO ANSWER THE ACCUSATIONS AGAINST HIM REGARDING THESE PEOPLE. HE GIVES SOME ANSWERS BUT NOT ENOUGH TO SATISFY US AND GAIN OUR TRUST.
BY THE WAY, WHEN IS OBAMA GOING ON THE FACTOR? CANNOT WAIT FOR THAT. IF HE DOES NOT GO ON, HE IS A COWARD. I STARTED OUT LEANING TOWARD OBAMA,BUT NOW I HAVE A BETTER OPINION OF H.C. NOT THRILLED WITH HER “I MISSPOKE” “I WAS TIRED” BUT OTHER THAN THAT SHE RAN A GOOD CAMPAIGN.I CAME AWAY WITH A MUCH HIGHER REGARD FOR HER.

Obama foes say “no” to race game

by Christi Parsons

Will race be a factor in the election to come, now that Barack Obama appears destined for the Democratic nomination for the White House?

The official answer from Republican leaders is that they don’t plan to raise it.

“All we can say is, we hope and we expect it will have no impact at all,” Republican National Committee deputy chairman Frank Donatelli said this afternoon. “That’s not an issue we’re going to raise, ever. We believe the future of the country is too important.”

Republicans hope to focus on what presumptive Republican nominee John McCain calls “the big issues,” he said, and to prevent Obama from dwelling on “lofty platitudes.”

But they don’t plan to play the race game, he said.

“As far as we’re concerned,” said Donatelli, “I can only give you my pledge that that’s going to be how our party is going to try to focus.”

Uhm, I think Obama raised it by being associated with Farrakhan, Wright, Moss, et al.

Comment by Room 101 | 2008-06-03 19:01:58

You just wait until the race baiting begins, Mr. Donatelli.

Comment by stodghie | 2008-06-03 20:13:26

Comment by TeakWoodKite | 2008-06-03 15:45:35

I vote in Ca today and my “buds” at work were talking politics. I said I would not vote for Obama under any circumstance and he IF he was the nominee I would vote for McCain, and I was promptly called a racist by a fellow employee.

“You just can’t vote for him because he is a black man. I have conversations with my dad in OK and he says the same thing. You are a rasict.”

That is a first…. Needless to say I did not take it kindly.

Comment by honestlawyer mostly | 2008-06-03 15:47:42

The DNC’s and superdelegates decisions to support Obama is not based on any particular belief that he will make a great, or even good President. Instead, it is a simple, cynical political calculation made for and by down-ballot Democrats who want to get elected or re-elected. Senator Clinton’s supporters may turn to McCain if she is rejected, and may turn out in great numbers to register their protest, but, the thinking goes, we are highly unlikely to vote straight ticket Republican. In other words, the down-ballot Democrats still will get her votes. At the same time, Obama will draw many AAs who usually do not vote as well as a number of “new” voters nearly all of whom, while they are there, could be expected to vote for the other Democrats who are running. So, if one’s primary motivation is not the good of the country, or creating history by electing a truly qualified woman President, but instead is to get elected or re-elected as a Democrat, the only smart thing to do is make sure that Senator Obama is at the top of the ticket.

The flaw in the thinking is that if there is a video or anything else truly disturbing, it may draw even more Republicans and switch the independents, and then everyone loses.

It’s too bad that politics is never about doing the right thing.

Comment by alexei | 2008-06-03 16:35:48

That’s why I am splitting my down ticket ballot. All Dems who supported Hillary, get my vote, all Dems who supported Obama, I will vote for their opponent.

Here in VT, Congressman Welch will not get my vote nor will one State Senator and a candidate for State Senator. I will work and vote for the Dem Governor candidate (Gaye Symington was a VT co-chair for Hillary) and for the Dem candidates for State House. I will be checking with the Dem Lt Gov if whom she supported.

This is my litmus test because Obama and his supporters have disenfranchised voters and stolen votes and delegates. That is not my Party.

Comment by so saddened | 2008-06-04 02:00:22

alexei - perfect approach. i intend to follow the same. he or she who supports hillary gets my vote (and money). he or she who supports obummer, his or her opponent gets my vote.

this is how we make our strength known. not only must obummer lose bigtime, but his buttkissing and/or weak-kneed supporters must as well.

Comment by Faustina | 2008-06-03 18:35:54

Interesting. Obama as the nominee may help some down-ticket candidates, but certainly that isn’t the case across the board. For example, Brian Dorgan of North Dakota is a Obama supporter. I can’t fathom why he would be supporting Obama other being a member of the Kerry/Kennedy good old boys club.

I think $omething el$e is going on. I have never been very intere$ted in politic$ before thi$ election, so I don’t really have a clue…except what Lyndon LaRouche and hi$ friend$ have to $ay.

I don’t care whether mainstream political operatives label LaRouche a nut or the fringe, I find his website enlightening and think he comes up with some very interesting information that provides a lot of food for thought.

Comment by so saddened | 2008-06-04 02:03:41

so true re politics and pure motives not going together.

also so true that further bad news for obummer will hurt his supporters too.

but i think his supporters are underestimating our ire. many of us will not only vote against him but also against them. unlike obummer’s kid voters, most of us are knowledgeable and take the time to vote down ticket.

I’ve said this privately to friends for some time now - Hillary knows something and I think this is it. It simply defies logic that she would stay in this campaign for as long as she has when the numbers, driven in large part by the most biased political media coverage I have ever seen in my lifetime, have clearly indicated Obama was heading for a sure victory. Why put your campaign and yourself in millions of dollars of debt with no beneficial endgame in sight? To aim for the VP slot? I find that hard to believe. If this tape drops tomorrow, which I truly hope it does, I think we’ll have the answer to that question. Do I think the Clinton campaign was in any way behind it? No, but to think that they haven’t heard these same rumours all this time is naive and implausable. And the political machine that is the Clintons would most certainly have the inside track and ability to verify said rumours.

Here’s hoping Wednesday is very interesting…

I think it is sad that we live in a country that has such a difficult pass, yet we seem determined to maintain a devide and promote hate, misunderstanding and sadness to our citizenship. How will this country lead, if we are determined to seek only the worst in us, the weaknesses in us,and call it our main issues. It’s as if we don’t care that we are drowning. We just want to see who drowns first. The reality is unfortunately, we all die together.

I hope we get to where we decide to live instead

Comment by Lucinda | 2008-06-03 16:25:43

TPM has castigated the AP for its loose reporting today. (Though I have had problems with their reporting in the past.)

Camp Hillary is pushing back against reports that Hillary told New York legislators on a conference call that she’d be “open” to being Obama’s vice president.

Here’s the statement from her campaign:

“Today on a conference call with New York legislators, Senator Clinton was asked whether she was open to the idea of running as Vice-President and repeated what has said before: she would do whatever she could to ensure that Democrats take the White House back and defeat John McCain.”

The Hillary camp claims that her questioner was the one who asked whether she was open to it. But the AP specifically quoted Hillary as follows…

“I am open to it,” Clinton replied, if it would help the party’s prospects in November.

Of course, the AP sourced this direct quote from Hillary to an anonymous participant on the call. And it needs to be reiterated that the AP’s track record today has been less than sterling.

A broader point here: The pressure on the news orgs is ordinarily intense enough on normal days to be first with literally any shard of info, no matter how trivial or poorly sourced, that purports to shed light on what Hillary is thinking or what she will do. But this has reached absurd and truly grotesque proportions today.

Hence the increased likelihood of journalistic train-wrecks. Not that anyone seems to care about said train-wrecks, of course. Folks are too busy chasing the next story.

AP has been horrible today.

Bob Beckel is just the latest leftwing dunce to believe Johnson, who peddles nothing but bullshit.

There is nothing in any of the quotes Johnson cites to support this fairytale about Michele Obama but references to Johnson’s own fabrications, backed up by hot air, which is the only commodity this dimestore fabulist ever has to offer.

The reason Johnson relies on idiots like Leopold and Beckel is that they’re ideologues whose wishful thinking is exactly what Johnson always preys on.

It is entirely possible that someone in the Clinton campaign also has a copy of the tape, but she would not release it. Just as I am sure they had all of the info on Wright, Pfleger and the rest, but the Clinton camp never released anything showing anyone in the Obama campaign as racist. The Republicans especially Hannity brought Wright to the forefront. If Hillary had released anything like that, she would be branded a racist by the likes of Farrakhan. And as she has fought for over 30 years for child advocacy, workers rights, minorities rights, and womens rights. She will never damage the causes she believes in to serve herself.

Obamatons have been slinging rumors, innuendo’s and outright lies for months trying to do exactly that to her any way. That proves to me far more than anything that Obama cares nothing about America or anyone but himself. Not once has he stood up and denounced the
race baiting. His campaign even released talking point memo’s urging supporters to look for comments by Clinton that could be spun in a race baiting manner.

Now Vanity Fair is even releasing a BS rumor filled article claiming Bill is chasing skirts across the country. Even hinting that Bill Clinton may be having an affair with Gina Gershon (I wish I could…Damn she’s HOT!) But she has forcefully denied it and states quite pointedly that she has never even been alone with him the 3 times they were at the same place. And of Course Vanity Fair timed the release of the article for now, the week of the last primaries
when super delegates will be stating their preference. I say preference because they can not vote until the convention so thats exactly what it is.

I urge women to boycott Vanity Fair, if you have a subscription cancel it and tell them why!

And on another note, seems of the Obamatons only JW had the balls to agree to donating $10 to this site if Larry proves to be correct about the tape. Of course I expect that when Larry is once again proven accurate, JW will never be seen from again or change his nick so he doesn’t have to pony up. Obamatons are such predictable little anus biters.

CNN wants to announce Obama has “clinched” the nomination using SD’s who don’t vote until August 25. What a bunch of fucking losers. Hillary is right, turn off the tube and read a good book. I’m looking forward to Hillary announcing she has won the popular vote tonight and thumbing her nose at the MSM, Obama and the DNC by not conceding.

Carry on Hillary, we are at your side!

The RNC has 1000 pages of oppo research on Obambi–so far…be real Obama people. Like shooting fish in a barrel.

If Repubs have the tape, you won’t see it until after the convention. If the media has it, maybe tomorrow. Depends on which network. (NBC/MSNBC? No way.)

Regardless, the RNC will destroy Obambi, so enjoy your brief time in the sun.

Here’s the bet.

All Obama trolls will donate $10 to this site if the rumor is true.

If it’s not true Larry Johnson will issue a personal apology to Michelle Obama, and pledge to urge all Hillary supporters to vote for Barack Obama in the general election.

I think that’s fair.

Comment by one southern girl | 2008-06-03 18:50:23

How about Obama trolls just disappear?

Comment by Incredulous | 2008-06-03 20:01:24

Quite a few of we “Obama trolls” would have been perfectly happy voting for Hillary Clinton in November. I still would be, if things work out that way. I’d have been as happy with a Clinton/Obama ticket as an Obama/Clinton ticket. I vote for principles, not people.

Oddly, it seems to be a minority of Clinton supporters who are doing Hillary the most damage now, by turning their anger on both Barack Obama and the very party Hillary Clinton represents. Their largely irrational attacks reflect badly on her, though it’s certainly no fault of her own. She wouldn’t approve of much that is being said here. She’s got too much class for that, and too much repect for the principles she and her current opponent share.

This behavior is so obviously self-defeating that I’ve openly questioned a few times whether many here are actually pro-Clinton at all. Some seem to be pushing devisiveness for all they’re worth. Some go so far as stating that they’ll turn republican at the polls if Obama is the democratic candidate.

Given where another 4 years on our current course is certain to take us, I can’t help but question either their judgement or their core principles.

Comment by Strawberry | 2008-06-03 20:44:33

What are you talking about? Bambi has pissed off the entire democratic base. Most average Americans both Republican and Democrat alike think Bambi stole votes from Hillary in Michigan. My insane, racist republican neighbor with the confederate flags out on the 4th of July just came up to me and said how pissed she was that Barky would do that to Hillary…when I regained consciousness (she used to think Bill and Hillary were the Devil’s spawn) I explained to her that only the wacko left of our party still backed Obama. She told me that she might have voted for Hillary because she doesn’t like Mccain. She said something about John being too soft on illegals. Whatever the hell that means.

Comment by so saddened | 2008-06-04 01:36:23

strawberry, the likes of incredulous questioning our judgment and principles just makes me laugh.

re your insane racist republican neighbor - what the obamaloons don’t seem to get is that, regardless of whether she’s insane, racist, and repub, she might’ve voted for hillary and she’ll never vote for obummer. that’s true of millions. and it doesn’t really matter if they’re — fill in the blank obamaloon insult — their votes count all the same.

obamaloons are fond of telling people they don’t represent what dems should be or what americans should be or what women should be or whatever. then they say those people should just go vote mccain. the obamaloons are so damn stupid they don’t realize that’s exactly what will happen. all the people the obamaloons despise will vote mccain. the obamaloons should be trying to get the votes of all those people they deem beneath them, but they can’t contain their hatred long enough to even fake sincerity effectivel.

obamaloons will fill in assorted insults for me - recently i made a similar post and was rewarded with a response that not only am i racist but also the scum of the earth. somehow the obamaloons seem to think this will persuade me to vote for obummer?

i’m not persuadible anyway. and i hope the obamaloons continue their counterproductive tactics. ensuring obummer’s resounding defeat, with the assistance of the obamaloons, will be such fun.

hillary or mccain. no other option.

I think if any one is going to drop a bomb shell they need to get on with it. This story is losing its impact because of all the hype leading up to it and nothing really happening. When I saw the Wright video, I thought Obama could not survive it. I was wrong. I did not think Super Ds would continue to move to him, I was wrong. I thought Fr. Pfleger was a real hammer blow that should cause some major fractures. I thought the Democratic Party abandoning its core principles in DC last week, obviously with the complicity of Obama, would start some fires in the back rooms. I thought Ayres, Dohrn and Resko would shake a few boats. I thought Hillary winning landslides in key states would get attention. If I was up for despair and disillusionment, I would watch Obama crown himself tonight and prove to me that I am wrong again. At this point the hype has been so big that I can’t imagine anything that could live up to it, I really don’t think MO dropping a few “whitey’s” is an earthquake. It may be to me and you but it is certainly not an earthquake or even an event to the leadership of the Democratic party.

Cardinal Francis George of the Archdiocese of Chicago removed the hate-spewing Father Michael Pfleger from his duties at St. Sabina’s parish. The Cardinal issued a statement in which he said he had asked Father Pfleger to “take leave for a couple of weeks from his pastoral duties.”

Who really loves Obama, will Pfleger now come out of the closet and tell the real relationship with Obama, that Obama is Pfleger’s down low guy?

The next few days will be interesting indeed and Obamabots will be in a tizzy when their checks bounce……lol

My 12 year old son just asked me what’s the deal with the people on this blog. He told me that he was taught that Dems weren’t supposed to be racist or sexist, and why are there such nasty comments on what he thought was a Dem leaning site? Wow! Out of the mouths of babes.

He also wonders why someone from the spy world would be all talk about a video no one’s seen yet. He thought Larry would just introduce it when he had it in hand. Seems to him like Larry’s “hyping.” Hmmm. The wisdom of 12 year olds never ceases to amaze me. What is wrong with you people?

If there is a video, step back and wait for it. Then spew your venom. You look like back-stabbing hyenas. Larry, you will be the fool if the video isn’t produced tomorrow. Too bad. With Barky at the top — I WILL NOT VOTE FOR OBAMA — I don’t give a damned if Jesus Christ is on the ticket with Barky.

NO WAY IN HELL WILL I EVER VOTE FOR Obama. Not now not ever.

Obama is STILL a National Security risk — and he should be in jail for his criminal involvement with the Chicago political machine.

Comment by Character Counts | 2008-06-03 19:40:54

I’ve enjoyed reading all of your comments.

Normally I vote Republican but this year I was thinking about voting for Obama. I have not been a big fan of Hillary’s since the 90’s but have to admit, her tenacity in this race has earned my respect. As I became more aware of Obama’s background and his belief system, I not only changed my mind about voting for him but am quite concerned that he will get the Democratic nomination.

I hope that this tape is not only true, but is sufficient to get the Obamabots out of their collective trance. With as much as has been exposed so far to anyone following along there should be genuine concern from everyone (except maybe our enemies).

I just want you all to know how much I support you and support Hillary. If Hillary is the nominee, I will vote for her–she’s earned my respect. This is not an Repulican vs Democrat election, this could be about our national security and the very basic things that the government should provide. As far as worrying about “democratic party unity”, can we not first agree that we should use good judgement in selecting our next leader?

Thank you for this site–you’ve all been so entertaining and enlightening. Best of wishes for us all!

McCain or Clinton
NOBAMA, PLEASE!!

You know what? Go ahead and jump ship for John McCain. People who honestly feel that way about Obama–or Hillary Clinton, for that matter–don’t belong in the democratic party. Obviously you believe that at least half of your fellow democrats are either unAmerican or blithering idiots, incapable of seeing the evil in a man’s soul that’s so glaringly apparent to you. What you’re apparently about ain’t what the democratic party is about. So be gone! Please! And may you be happy with your choices.

And please be sure to blog for John McCain with the same level of vitriol you’ve used here. I’m sure you can do his campaign all the same good you’ve done for that of Hillary Clinton, whom I’ve had nothing but respect for for years.

1) I believe Larry when he says he has credible sources who have seen the tape.

2) Until a tape is produced and is proved to be authentic (not doctored or edited) we don’t know if Larry’s sources have been duped. Such an antic would be win-win for the Republicans. One one hand, it starts a rumor that smears Michelle which, even if disproved, would always be believed by some. OTOH, if the tape is doctored, you know Hillary will be blamed, hurting her campaign (which must now rest on persuading superdelegates to back her).

3) Both Fund and Beckel state that they are speaking of rumors. For all we know, they are simply reflecting the reports from No Quarter. If the Republicans indeed have an authentic tape, it does not serve their interests to release it prior to October. Releasing it tomorrow gives the superDs reason to switch to Clinton, who would be unstoppable against McCain. (Unless they hope that making the superDs switch to Clinton after Obama’s camp claims the nomination is clinched so outrages the A.A. bloc that the party self-destructs due to disaffected Obama supporters instead of disaffected Hillary supporters.)

That said, I think the Clinton’s could fight back strongly enough to steamroll over McCain in November. Let’s focus on persuading the superDs to do what’s best for the party: nominate Clinton.
