Breaking News from HillBUZZ

COMMENTS CLOSED. GO TO SECOND THREAD.

I am not trying to steal thunder from HillBuzz. That blogger is breaking important news. I’m posting the article in full because, having seen what happened to our site, a link to his will kill his server with the flood of traffic. Until Sunday, I was operating on one server. We’re up to four and barely keeping pace. HillBuzz writes at http://hillbuzz.blogspot.com/

What’s on the Michelle Obama Rant Tape?
Here’s what’s known so far:

The Michelle Obama Rant Tape was filmed between June 26th - July 1st 2004 in Chicago, IL at the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition Conference at Trinity United Church: specifically the Women’s Event.

Michelle Obama appeared as a panelist alongside Mrs. Khadijah Farrakhan and Mrs. James Meeks.

Bill Clinton spoke during the Conference, as did Bill Cosby and other speakers, but not at the panel Michelle attended.

Michelle Obama spoke at the Women’s Event, but referenced Bill Clinton in her rant — his presence at the conference was the impetus for her raving, it seems.

For about 30 minutes, Michelle Obama launched into a rant about the evils of America, and how America is to blame for the problems of Africa. Michelle personally blamed President Clinton for the deaths of millions of Africans and said America is responsible for the genocide of the Tutsis and other ethnic groups. She then launched into an attack on “whitey”, and talked about solutions to black on black crime in the realm of diverting those actions onto white America. Her rant was fueled by the crowd: they reacted strongly to what she said, so she got more passionate and enraged, and that’s when she completely loses it and says things that have made the mouths drop of everyone who’s seen this.

The “tape” is a DVD that Trinity United sold on its website, and possibly offered free for download up until March 2008 when Trinity’s site was scrubbed and the DVDs were no longer offered for sale.

This outburst happened just one month before the 2004 Democratic Convention, when Barack Obama delivered the keynote address.

So there should be a ton of these around, shouldn’t there?

Let’s see one, Larry. C’mon!

Comment by Larry Johnson | 2008-06-04 03:35:53

Actually, I may be able to satisfy that request based on what I have learned in the last hour. Send me your phone number and I’ll be sure to call you and alert you so that you can be one of the first to enjoy.

I’m praying you’re right Larry. I believe in your good work. thank you for giving us rational, reasonable dems a supportive environment to hang on to our sanity. I hope this tape is real and that it gets out on the MSM. my worry is the koolaid drinkers could watch Obama kill defenseless puppies live in front of them and they wouldn’t care.

Comment by Stray | 2008-06-04 03:54:57

I think your right. And I think thats the change he has in mind for allot of us.

Comment by Jen | 2008-06-04 07:53:26

Is it coming out today Larry?

I’m impatient :(

I got up at 8:30 AM to find news on it.

Comment by C. S. | 2008-06-04 07:59:17

I certainly hope you can find that tape because it feels like we’re having a deja vu election! The game’s the same only the face of the “winner” has been changed. I’m positive there will be another Supreme Court “decision” if Senator Clinton somehow slips through the superdelegate net and becomes the Democratic nominee.

Just like the obfuscation during the 2000 election that gave that election to GWB, we KNOW the evidence of the Obamas’ true character is hidden out there and we need to find it before August to prevent another national disaster.

Larry I am so glad you have this site, I had been blogging since blogging began but my site sits empty because so much has changed on the internet and I can’t handle it. Thanks for putting up with all the craziness for all of us. I hope this tape come out soon. Hillary is too smart to be his VP, what a slap in the face to women everywhere it would be… she is better qualified but he won on a technicallity. Obama stole the nomination with the DNC help, my heart broke when Maxine Waters switched. But Donna told the black caucus they could decide the nomianation. John McCain has won my vote, his warm words for Hillary are enough for me, even if he is just trying to get my vote. Obama hasn’t even tried. I like John McCain, I almost wish Hillary would be his VP and they compromise instead of playing politics. Back in the good old day the one with the most votes was President and the won who came in second was VP. I wouldn’t enjoy a Hillary - Obama ticket but maybe a Hillary McCain ticket. I like McCain, I don’t always agree with him but I like him.

Now, today, is the day the tape should come out,, no later, if there is a tape. Come on, what is the issue regarding it’s release, why wait ?

great to see you back up again, Larry.
Yesterday was rough.

Comment by Sam | 2008-06-04 03:36:03

But Larry, where is Hillbuzz’s evidence for this claim? There is so much detail in their post, that it seems the info is coming from somewhere, but from where? There is NO source mentioned…

Also, if it is a tape readily available from TUCC’s website, shouldn’t someone have it by now? My impression was that it is so hard to get because it was taped by NOI guards and not readily available through church sales…

What is your take on their lack of sourcing? Does their info correspond with what you are getting from your people?

Comment by Larry Johnson | 2008-06-04 03:36:43

Comment by Sam | 2008-06-04 03:42:00

Hah. Thanks for the reminder Larry. If this exists, I just hope it gets out sooner rather than later….if Hillbuzz’s description is accurate…I am not sure my jaw will ever close…

Comment by Uppity Woman | 2008-06-04 03:49:12

Sounds like somebody was willing to take the time to listen to all that tripe TUCC had for sale and for free on their site.

Comment by Sam | 2008-06-04 03:54:03

But someone would have already had to be in possession of the tapes since they took everything off the site in March. I wonder if HillBuzz had access to the tapes already and then did some research for anything involving the NOI. Whoever was filling in for Ingram this morning mentioned that it was on a panel with Mrs. Farrakahn, not her husband, so maybe that was the crucial clue needed last night for the Hillbuzz folks to go find it…

Can’t wait to see what Larry comes up with…

Comment by Mark | 2008-06-04 04:40:34

You can see archived pages of the Trinity United website at the wayback machine. I didn’t see any evidence of such DVDs for sale.

I keep waiting for something, anything, to corroborate Larry’s claims …

I think we’re all going to have to pick our jaws off the floor. I much as I dont’ think Obama is a good prez - if the description is true - it is truly saddening. I knew she was angry and practiced BLT - but that much hatred against another race is pretty demoralizing, and from someone who has benefited so much from the opportunities in this country, it is very sad.

Larry,
When you say “patience” I’m willing to trust you. From what little I know about you (through the Hillary Clinton Forum) you seem to have the background and experience to know what you’re talking about.

And, I’ve learned over the years that “patience” is a virtue…for sure.

Comment by It's Not Me | 2008-06-04 07:30:55

If you can trust anyone? It’s Larry. If he says something, know it’s true. ;) That’s why I’m here. There’s few people I trust more.

Comment by Nag | 2008-06-04 08:27:51

I once remarked to a Kindergarten teacher how much patience she had. She told me that patience is NOT a virtue, it’s a learned skill. She was right. I’m still bad at having patience, but I guess we have no choice. All the hoopla on tv this morning about how he is the presumptive nominee… CNN should be announcing Obama’s sainthood by noon or so, they’re just gushing over him. Let him have the moment. I’m afraid it’s as close as he’ll come to the White House.

“Also, if it is a tape readily available from TUCC’s website, shouldn’t someone have it by now?”

You’d think… But how long did it take for the Rev Wright story to break? Would the media ever even have reported on it, even having viewed the tapes, if they hadn’t been forced to? Undoubtedly the networks have this footage already. They’ll play stupid up until it airs, then pretend they didn’t know about it. But this won’t be so easy for them to cover up.

Comment by annie | 2008-06-04 04:08:44

I think the notion that the media is waiting til after the Dem Conv is correct. Fox probably has it & is holding tight. I caught a few minutes of McCains speech tonite & thought he was trying to win over Hillary’s supporters.

Comment by sisterdo | 2008-06-04 04:51:13

If he’s trying to win Hillary supporters– this would do it.

My jaw is already dropping. It sure sounds real, if it is the GOP could keep Obama from ever getting off the floor he’s on.

Right now, the media wants to parade him around, and prop him up like a God again. They’re dying to coronate him.

Well, this little nugget–if this is what it is–would keep Obama the God-Man-King from ever re-emerging.

Comment by Maryann | 2008-06-04 05:32:55

I agree with Annie - I listened to McCain last night and thought he was directly speaking to Hillary supoorters but I pray this tape comes out today as it has been mentioned so Hillary can still be the nominee !!!

Comment by mr. natural | 2008-06-04 06:15:42

I caught a few minutes of McCains speech tonite & thought he was trying to win over Hillary’s supporters.

He didn’t call us liars, losers, *ssh*les, or even delusional, confused racists. Not only that but he didn’t lecture us about our bitterness, our guns, or the current O’Bot favorite, the five stages of grief.

Comment by beebop | 2008-06-04 07:44:41

Comment by jcz | 2008-06-04 07:59:41

the details on the site sound very accurate

esp. the reference to Bill Clinton being the trigger
Clinton is really reviled among the hard-left, whereas Bush’s inanity was almost expected, and not ‘worthy’ of an emotional outburst..

if true, Obama will have to drop out

because if blaming whites for killing millions in Africa isn’t the jaw dropping part, well…

it must be really bad.

Comment by POdVet | 2008-06-04 03:37:28

John McCain from his speech last night

“Senator Clinton has earned great respect for her tenacity and courage. The media often overlooked how compassionately she spoke to the concerns and dreams of millions of Americans, and she deserves a lot more appreciation than she sometimes received. As the father of three daughters, I owe her a debt for inspiring millions of women to believe there is no opportunity in this great country beyond their reach. I am proud to call her my friend. Pundits and party elders have declared that Senator Obama will be my opponent.”

He just took a few million voters from Mr Obama right there. And if he reminds people that in 1995 Obama made over $1.5 million but did NOT donate one dime of his own money to Katrina relief, the election is already over.

Comment by so saddened | 2008-06-04 03:43:02

i LOVE the quote that “pundits and party elders have declared” - mccain knows that it isn’t true, just that they’re declared it to be.

agree re obama’s lack of donations (2005?) - can’t wait for the 527 re that - also, he gave a LOT of money to his pal wright’s church last year, but pretty much nothing to any other charity. and wright’s church shouldn’t legally qualify as a charity, given the violation of tax laws, and certainly doesn’t pass the moral smell test. odds are obambi’s contributions were funneled to wright’s new mansion or some other inappropriate use.

the hypocrisy of the obamas telling people to work in service type jobs, etc., to give back to the community, etc., but they’re all about what they can get and they give nothing.

Comment by Stray | 2008-06-04 04:09:50

It sure sounds like McCain has some empathy — a hell of a lot more than snObama.

There is just NO way I’d vote for snObama — I intensely hate sexist jerks and that’s what snObama is — a sexist jerk.

We already know that snObama is willing to SAY anything in order to get fools to vote for him. NAFTA & Canada & Ohio — for example. So his word is useless and his deeds are dirty (his Mansion, for example).

McCain is a loyal American — snObama is NOT. That’s the bottom line.

Comment by It's Not Me | 2008-06-04 07:38:00

It’s pretty damn sad when a Republican has more respect for Hillary than her own Democratic Party. Man, did they open my eyes during this Primary. NEVER AGAIN. The Democratic Party is no longer my Party.

I still can’t believe how badly they treated Hillary. I hope she tells them to shove it and leaves the party. OR fight to the convention. That’ll REALLY piss ‘em off! They deserve to have their crap shoved right back in their face.

Comment by ScottVA | 2008-06-04 07:41:37

Ditto! I have no problem voting for him (McCain) if Hillary is truly screwed out of the nomination! Anything to see a Fracture in the Party and to serve a can of whoop as to El TurdO! LOL

Comment by joe | 2008-06-04 08:31:02

Q: “How do we beat the bitch”

McCain: *laughs*

Yeah, Obama’s the sexist. WTF?

Comment by Steve | 2008-06-04 04:09:34

John McCain is a good man. He’s built his career on compromise. That’s why a lot of conservatives hate him - because he actually likes to do the right thing and not just tow the party line. Come November, I will be able to cast my vote for him without regret. It’ll be the first Republican vote I’ve cast since 1992, when I foolishly voted for Bush I’s re-election. The Clintons brought me into the Democratic party, and the way they’ve been treated has brought me close to leaving it again.

Comment by sisterdo | 2008-06-04 04:45:22

IF this horror is in any way true, even though I haven’t done it so far, I would sign up immediately with John McCain’s website and start donating money–Obama would need to be stopped.

The media is determined to hand us these two, with all my heart I have never been more ashamed of the elitists in this party and our propagandists in the media for pushing this unvetted, America hating pair onto our great country to sow division everywhere they go.

I appreciate McCain’s remarks, well, Obama is not just unqualified, he hates this place too. The Democratic Party must not be rewarded for this.

IF this tape exists, McCain would get a money infusion like never before.

Comment by Susan | 2008-06-04 05:02:14

I agree - as soon as I am sure Clinton is out of it for good, I will be donating to McCain, and I encourage everyone else to donate - even if only $5. As a frequent small contributor to HRC, I am sure somewhere the DNC tracks these donations, and it will be enlightening for them to see the HRC supporters put their money where there mouth is in regard to supporting McCain instead of Obama.

Comment by Michael Oaks | 2008-06-04 07:17:15

I’m sure that Lanny Davis has seen the tape, even has a copy, don’t you?? I believe that this is what is meant by patience. Don’t you think that the campaign powers that be, are giving private showings to the super delegates via laptops?? I think we will see a rash of shifts from the SDs in the next week. When Axelrod was being interviews last night in Minnesota he made a Freudian slip when talking about Obama and his having the required no of votes for the nomination: He began with Obama is the “punitive” nominee, and quickly
changed the gaff to “presumptive” nominee. Ummmmmh! What could he have had on his mind.

Comment by It's Not Me | 2008-06-04 07:42:56

If this is true, and I believe it IS, the Super Delegates will FLOCK to Hillary faster than you can say racist. TRUST ME. This video will DESTROY BO’s campaign and SDs are free to change their minds until they cast their votes at the convention…that’s why BO isn’t REALLY the Democratic nominee. ONLY in his own mind is he the Dem nominee. He’ll be finished after this video comes out.:)

He visited Bill Clinton’s efforts, wrote on his website Bill Clinton was doing a great job.

No kidding the man’s been raising money and building better houses with Brad Pitt there…..so then comes election time and his team claims Hillary didn’t cry over Katrina.

McCain did get some votes with that line. This tape would complete the job.

Glad to hear someone say it, McCain thank you for telling it like it is. Obama hasn’t done squat for anybody….and tears down people who have.

If this tape is real, Obama will hemorrage support like he’s been doing for months.

McCain genuinely likes Hillary. On the other hand, he doesn’t like Obama–views him as an upstart, someone who has not paid his dues.

Perhaps that explains the little zinger about how Barry was “declared” to be his opponent. Let the games begin.

Comment by Lucinda | 2008-06-04 06:34:15

I liked the last part of McCain’s speech, too. He said that he didn’t want to be president, because he believed that God had reached down and anointed him to be the leader of this country. He wanted to be president to do what he’s always done—serve this country.
This is why I have no problem voting for John McCain. I don’t agree with him on everything, but I have no doubt that he loves this country. Whereas, I have HUGE doubts that Obama loves it.
When this tape/DVD hits, who wants to bet that he’ll make a speech denouncing Michelle and announcing that he’s filed for a legal separation?

Comment by AC | 2008-06-04 06:44:23

Comment by bart | 2008-06-04 06:02:02

Thousands of copies? No way. This kind of stuff is usually interesting to no one other than folks who attended, and not all of them. Maybe a few others. But I’m willing to bet only a relative handful were ever sold and maybe 50 made. This is not exactly what Wal-Mart would call a “loss-leader.”

I seriously doubt there was a stampede to the church bookstore. So, no, I doubt that there were ever many of these to find.

Comment by Steve | 2008-06-04 06:16:41

And the people who do have them aren’t the sort to want to do anything that would endanger Obama’s candidacy. Which is why a cash reward has also been rumored.

Comment by BubbaG | 2008-06-04 07:28:06

If it exists, why would they release now, if the people that have it are repubs? They WANT Obama to be the nominee- not Hillary.

I doubt a major network has it. If it is CNN, CBS or NBC, they would break it in tiny pieces and then bury the shards in the ground.

If it was ABC or Fox, they would have played it already.

Comment by Mr. X | 2008-06-04 04:06:55

Just to confirm… if it doesn’t come out today or soon, you can get a copy? Man, I hope they get some polls out about a week after it comes out. I want to make some new electoral maps. Not that the current ones aren’t bad enough. I wanna see him lose New York. Seeing Obama turn a blue state into a red one would be exciting to see in a year where Dems are supposed to win easily.

Comment by Steve | 2008-06-04 04:13:20

When all is said and done, I don’t think Obama will break 200 EVs, maybe not even 150, and only the solid blue states among them. I know Hillary said she’d campaign her heart out for him, but I hope she doesn’t. He doesn’t deserve her help, after the crap his campaign has pulled.

Comment by sisterdo | 2008-06-04 04:54:43

I hope she will agree to not campaign for him, I think it would be best, considering how she’s been treated, I believe she just deserves some rest.

Did Obama just say her talking about continuing her own campaign into June like RFK meant “it’s all about Obama” and he really wanted her dead?

Hillary has been accused of too much by his campaign, I will not see him use her again. It wouldn’t be right.

Comment by Steve | 2008-06-04 05:09:00

I’m not sure if it started with them calling Hillary supporters Bradley Effect racists, or accusing her of demeaning MLK by pointing out a president had to sign the Civil Rights Act, but it quickly progressed to fake quotes like “Obama is just like Jesse Jackson”, “Hillary endorsed McCain,” “A black candidate is a fairy tale!”, “Now all I have to do is hope Obama gets shot!” and a million other things that were never, ever, ever said. And the media lapped it up and regurgitated it for the masses without one single spark of conscience or journalistic integrity.

Despicable. Disgusting. Obama doesn’t deserve the presidency. He ran a dishonorable, race-baiting campaign against a family that worked and worked for Americans and the Democratic party. In his own way, he’s even more loathsome than the people who tried to accuse Hillary of murder all those years ago. At least THEY weren’t members of her own party!!!

Comment by Betty | 2008-06-04 08:15:41

…all those years ago. At least THEY weren’t members of her own party!

After seeing the hate directed towards her from her own party, I wonder. That couldn’t have just materialized in these past 2 years.

I know her own party sabotaged her first attempt to give us UHC, now they are working on killing her second.

Comment by llamajockey | 2008-06-04 05:01:01

Steve,

I this Michelle Obama tape exists and Obama somehow still gets the nomination, I don’t Obama will carry a single state.

Will Obama will win in the Rocky Mountain/Great Plains states? Nope

Will Obama carry the Appalachian states? Nope. Funny how the usually thick skinned Scots-Irish do not like being called rednecks or hillbillies from Elitists and Marxists. Otherwise if you call them that with genuine affection they really don’t mind.

Will Obama carry the South? NO!!

Will Obama carry Florida? Not after last weekend.

Will Obama carry the Midwest? Nope and especially not Michigan.

Will Obama carry California? No, Obama is a rabid Marcusian/Gramcsian Marxist. Californians are fed up with Open Borders insanity. Middle and working class AAs are being run out of SoCal. 3rd, 4th, 5th… generation Latinos are tired of the rapid influx of illegal aliens and the associate criminal element that is adversely impacting their communities.

Likewise can Obama carry the other Border states? With the exception of New Mexico with Bill Richardson as VP No Way!!!

Can Obama carry Massachusetts. No, Why Deval Patrick.

Connecticut - Not with Lieberman campaigning for McCain.

Can Obama Carry New York. I don’t care how hard Hillary campaigns for Obama. I say after the way the Obama treated her, I say no way.

How about Minnesota, Maine, Vermont, Oregon and Washington??? Not if the NRA has anything to say in this election.

Honestly the only electoral votes I can see Obama getting is Washington DC.

Obama will prove to be McGovern on steroids.

Comment by Steve | 2008-06-04 05:18:58

I would agree with you if his followers weren’t so rabid. Have you even tried to watch one of those music videos? They are truly chilling.

He’s guaranteed to wrap up the zombie vote, and that might net him a couple states. But it upsets me not only that the Democratic party has enabled this scenario, but actively shunned Hillary in the process.

What does that say about the Democratic party? It’s not the party I joined 15 years ago out of amazement at the job Bill Clinton was doing. The wing of the party Obama represents believe that the Clinton years were awful - that Bill Clinton governed like a conservative Republican. The twisted thought process behind that is impossible to comprehend.

The Republican party is completely unacceptable, but McCain isn’t a traditional Republican. So I will likely add my vote to the many, many democrats who will support McCain this November. I’ll vote Dem otherwise, unless I find one of my reps or senators stabbed Hillary in the back. They’ll find themselves without my vote as well, if that’s the case.

Comment by Michael Oaks | 2008-06-04 07:31:12

Some of you seem to think he has the nomination all sewed up. It will not happen until August at the convention in Denver. Hillary is alive and well, until her case is presented to the SDs. Any delegate can jump ship anytime between now and then. I’m sure that within the next couple of days or weeks, the SDs will be coming back to Hillary in droves, proving beyond any stretch of the imagination that she IS THE MOST ELECTABLE. Get off of this McCain for president stuff. If you still believe in Hillary, LIKE THE MAN SAID:
BE PATIENT

The Super Delegates will FLOCK to Hillary faster than you can say racist. TRUST ME. This video will DESTROY BO’s campaign and SDs are free to change their minds until they cast their votes at the convention…that’s why BO isn’t REALLY the Democratic nominee. ONLY in his own mind is he the Dem nominee. He’ll be finished after this video comes out. He won’t survive to go to the convention. This is probably why the remaining SDs haven’t endorsed. THEY know this video exists. If WE know, THEY know.

Newsflash: there’s not going to be a warm and fuzzy little lovefest. After Hillary and her supporters have been called racists, liars, and worse? Accusing Hillary of calling for Obama’s assassination… Launching actual, real campaign ads in South Carolina calling her a liar just because she pointed out she and Obama vote the same on Iraq? Even knowing Republicans would use those same ads against her if she were the nominee?

No. There’s not going to be unity. It was foolish of you Obama supporters to crap all over everyone and then expect them to love you for it.

LET THE DEMOCRATS UNITE WE REALLY NEED TO GET JOHN MCCAIN.

This isn’t about “getting” anyone. It’s not about winning some kind of game, and John McCain isn’t the villain who has to be taken down at the end of the movie. The Democrats and Republicans aren’t opposing soccer teams or battling armies in a computer game. Thank goodness, some intelligent, thoughtful, mature people, who don’t equate everything in life with what they view on an iPod, still cast their votes based on what’s best for our country and the common good of all parties.

Comment by standard | 2008-06-04 07:54:35

I will believe the video when I see it, but it’s totally believeable given Obama’s speaking style, and the speaking style of that church, and the fact that Obama’s THREE spriritual advisors were Wright, Pfleger, and Moss, that Michelle would let herself get caught up in the crowd and the anger and go off on a tirade like this.

Obama was surprised that Wright was a problem. When Obama quit his church he said there was nothing in the church worth renouncing.

And tonight he actually said

Because if we are willing to work for it, and fight for it, and believe in it, then I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on Earth.

He really does think he’s Jesus. These two are Jim and Tammy Faye.

The wait for climax is torturing the Obamadroids more than the Clintonistas.

One of the reasons why is because they AGREE with Michelle and Wright. Part of their love for Obama is thinking they are sneaking one past “The Man”. They know the tape’s real, maybe not in specifics (which tape and when) but in generalities (what’s expressed), and they share the sentiments, while realizing what a blow that would be to The Precious’s campaign for their secret hate of mainstream America to get out.

Comment by Liquidz | 2008-06-04 03:46:23

Honestly, I’d prefer my candidates to be unassociated with in anyway to the NOI or any other hate group, and if whats in the video is real, I’m definitely going with a “no vote” this election season.

This, coupled with the Reverend Wright shit, is enough to send the man into the bottom of everyone’s list when it comes to the subject of “right for this country”.

I’m inclined to believe this is for real - at this point, no one stands to gain by spreading falsehoods: a rumor would be debunked (or simply worn out after months without evidence) by the GE, so this is hardly Republican dirty tricks, and it would take more than innuendo to swing the superdelegates to Senator Clinton. Of course, this story is the only reason I’m still clinging to my sanity tonight…

And remember that Obama has said he doesn’t think his pastor (Rev. Wright) is particularly controversial. That’s how he can say he wasn’t there when Rev. Wright said controversial things even though he was there during those crazy sermons. He actually told the truth on that one. But it’s always from HIS perspective. He doesn’t say he wasn’t there during the things WE find controversial. From his POV, he was never there when Wright said thing that HE finds controversial. And how could he when he finds nothing from Rev. Wright controversial.

That’s the twisted logic that Obama and his supporters live under. It’s always about them and their POV. They can’t see things from other people’s POV.

Comment by Steve | 2008-06-04 04:29:26

Surely, since the church sold the tapes, they must have a master copy. Since we know they DID sell the tapes, lack of a master copy can only mean that someone has acquired it. But if they do still have it, and aren’t sharing it because of what happened with Rev Wright, they might not sell it to private individuals. But Obama could surely request one and they’d provide it to him. Then he could show it to all of us to prove there’s nothing controversial in it.

Personally, I think it’s very likely that all of the tapes were purchased by someone wanting to keep the story to themselves, to make sure it could only be deployed at the moment of their choosing… Like, October 25th or so, for example.

John McCain is only the Presumptive Nominee, but Obama is the Nominee? How does that work? Mark this off as the year half of all Democrats came to realize that Republicans are onto something about the media manufacturing the news.

All female Clinton supporters like myself should vote for McCain so that we lose our right to choose. Let us vote for the man who wants to overturn Roe vs Wade. Let us go back to the age of coat hangers and falling down from stairs because of our spite for Obama.

Comment by NURSERATCHET | 2008-06-04 04:14:50

SORRY, THAT TIRED OLD ARGUMENT WON’T WORK. ROE V WADE WASN’T OVER-TURNED UNDER BUSH AND IT WON’T BE UNDER A MCCAIN PRESIDENCY. BUT, NOT TO WORRY, NEITHER OBAMANATION OR MCCAIN WILL BE PRESIDENT!

Comment by Sam | 2008-06-04 04:19:25

Women’s rights are about far more than Roe v. Wade, as a woman, I would hope that you could understand that. What good is Roe v. Wade if women do not have basic respect, equality, and dignity? For those of us who feel that the sexism that has been rampant during this campaign, and for those of us who feel that the DNC’s silence and complicity in this constant women bashing is unacceptable, it is time to stand up and say enough is enough. This is about the principle of women’s rights and equality for women that has been thrown into the crapper during this primary season.

Is Roe v. Wade an issue? Sure it is. But so are many other things. Energy policy, for one. Who voted for the Cheney energy bill? It wasn’t John McCain, or Hillary Clinton. It was Barack Obama.

I, for one, am most likely just going to sit out - I don’t find McCain or Obama to be acceptable candidates. But please respect the rights of others to weigh what is important to them and to make the decision that is best for them. Do not come here preaching like you know better than everyone else. We all know McCain is anti-choice, and that will have to be weighed with other factors.

Comment by Kate Edwards | 2008-06-04 04:53:32

Voicing ones opinions with some sarcasm is not preaching. If it is then most of the comments on this page qualify.

I agree with your assertion that there are other issues which are perhaps more important then Roe vs Wade and I also respect your choice for sitting out. I will also sit out but what I will not do or cannot bring myself to do is to vote for someone like McCain. No self respecting women should.

That is just my opinion. If you dont agree with it dont get your knickers in a twist.Grow up.

Having become sick of answering roe v wade, I have a stock answer now.

If my younger sisters lose Roe Wade it will be their own fault for taking the rights they have for granted, because they didn’t fight for them. They are complacent and can take the time to swoon over a sexy empty suit who has already set gender relations back a minimum of 30 years, and we haven’t even gotten to the General Election campaign yet. Serves them right. Not my problem. I know how not to get pregnant.

It’s my job to protect the rights I fought for that matter to me. This is a misogynist’s campaign and if younger women are too busy spawning over Leland Gaunt handing out Needful Things and discussing his vibrating phone when he leans on one of them, then they will have to learn to take the consequences of their own folly along with the consolations. Maybe then they will Get It. I have already done well in my life. Complacency is their enemy, not mine. Let em eat cell phones.

Comment by myiq2xu | 2008-06-04 04:33:34

Roe can be overturned by SCOTUS because they made it law in the first place.

But if it’s overturned, it puts abortion rights in front of state legislatures, which won’t necessarily be bad.

Most people are pro-choice.

Comment by Mr.Murder | 2008-06-04 05:27:56

It was not made law by court, it was made law ny legislative means. The court simply upheld it.

Comment by bcc | 2008-06-04 06:22:28

Oh please. That argument is such a red herring.

In the age of states passing laws to legalize gay marriage? Even if the SC overturned Roe tomorrow it wouldn’t matter. Abortion would still be legal in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Nothing would change.

Don’t believe the hype.

Comment by Elizabeth Reilly | 2008-06-04 07:02:12

If McCain becomes President, his hands will be tied by a veto proof Democratic congress, based on the indications I’ve been reading about Dem gains in both houses. He won’t be able to get his SCUSA judges seated and he won’t be able to overturn RvW, so you might want to think twice about shunning McCain. The only fly in the ointment will be if Hillary agrees to be VP, a big mistake IMHO. She needs to distance herself from Obama and let him sink on his own, should he gain the presidency. She needs to bide her time until 2012. Were she to agree to that slot with Obama, I still have to vote for McCain to keep Obama out of the White House, The Peoples’ House, and especially keeping that white hating thing he is married to from ever crossing the doorway.

Comment by PaganPower | 2008-06-04 08:08:23

You apparently know very little about Supreme Court appointments.

The President can nominate someone but the Senate has to confirm that choice.

No confirmation. No appointment.

The responsibility lies with the Senate. The same Democratically controlled Senate that gave us Roberts. Of course people would like to blame Roberts on Bush. But Bush is not the one that confirmed him. Get it?

So enough of your boogeymans!

Comment by Three Wickets | 2008-06-04 04:11:23

If all this is true, it’s a royal mess for the party. The nomination may not change, but Barack would have little chance in the fall. Instead of a disasterous convention for the two candidates, what would be ideal is if Hillary and Barack could strike a deal, where both are on the ticket with Hillary on top for this election. Barack would be President one day, just not this cycle. In order for this to happen, the party would need some honest party leaders who could broker such a deal. But I don’t see anyone in sight, maybe Gore. Again if true, it does explain a couple of strange things last night. Why there was that awkward pause after Terry jumped the gun and introduced Hillary as the next President, before Hillary actually came out. Also why there seemed to be no party or DNC leadership backing Barack’s milestone nomination speech. We live in interesting times.

Comment by Mr. X | 2008-06-04 04:30:59

At this point, Obama is a net negative. He’ll bring down anyone he associates with.

Comment by Steve | 2008-06-04 04:34:42

If this tape exists, having Obama on the ticket in any form would be a death sentence to the candidacy of the other person on the ticket as well. And frankly, if this tape exists, so one would want him on the ticket anyway except for the 30% or so of his supporters who are completely out of their minds.

Comment by LBJ's Love Child | 2008-06-04 05:56:29

If the video gets shown (and it will), it will not be shown by the McCain campaign. And it will not be shown by a GOP 527 just to bring down Barry.

The GOP will construct this (and all the other stuff we know they have and more) to run against all Democrats. The unDemocratic nature of the nominee’s selection, the anti-American ravings of his wife and associates, and the criminals and terrorists in his background, COMBINED with his suspect patriotism will be used up and down ticket to portray the Democratic Party as dangerously un-American. And in many key places, it will stick.

Heckuva job, Howie.

Comment by myiq2xu | 2008-06-04 04:29:19

There are three main possibilities here:

1. There is no tape, and Larry (or his sources) are full of it. If that’s the case, who cares? Nobody is going to do anything unless the tape is produced.

2. There is a bogus tape out there that will quickly be exposed as a fake.

2. The tape exists and really contains what Larry says. When it is produced, bye-bye Bawack.

No matter which turns out to be the case, freaking out now is a waste of time and effort.

Despite what people keep claiming, Larry never said he had the tape or that he had seen it. He’s not putting his own credibility on the line here. He has nothing to gain and a lot to lose if he is blamed for a bogus video. If he gets a copy and determines that it’s fake, I’m sure he’ll be the first to announce it.

I’m sure that no one gave a shit about this video at first. There probably weren’t many copies sold. And when the TUCC videos became news, they suddenly became unavailable. The ones that got grabbed up were the ones with Rev. Wright giving sermons.

Whoever has this video isn’t going to make a bunch of copies. They will let people watch part or all of it as part of a sale negotiation. Once it hits the internet it’s value is zero because everyone will have it.

Comment by Mr. X | 2008-06-04 04:35:49

The fact that the media is talking about it puts Larry in the clear. He’s been vindicated. All that’s left is the contents of the tape, otherwise known as the “Whitey DVD”. DEE VEE DEE!!!

one last question for larry or others to speculate, if this is about to break as beckel claimed and as hillbuzz seems to suggest, why doesn’t the obama campaign seem freaked? this sounds like a game changer, so why are they taing no action?

Comment by Steve | 2008-06-04 04:36:26

I seriously doubt it will emerge until Obama is officially the nominee, in August. Then it will be too late for democrats to ask Clinton to run instead.

Comment by myiq2xu | 2008-06-04 04:37:34

What action can they take?

Obama can’t denounce his own wife, can he?

The only thing they can possibly do is try to outbid others for the tape, assuming it exists.

Michelle knows if it could exist.

Comment by jjran | 2008-06-04 04:56:16

He could diss his wife if the tape comes out. This guys is a faithless useless piss of shit…..Comes Nov…McCain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Comment by Kinky Ogremann | 2008-06-04 04:38:11

Not true - if you could actually bring yourself to watch Obama’s speech last night, he was obviously severely disturbed by something. For someone declaring victory, he was NOT happy - rather morose, demoralized, and perturbed by something truly great. He seemed more like someone who knows their political career is about to die. This is in stark contrast to how he was in the speeches at the beginning of this campaign. Hillary and even McCain on the otherhand were upbeat, empathetic, caring, and uplifting. He knows it’s dropping and there’s nothing he can do about it - no wonder CNN started airing nasty investigative stuff about Obama. They don’t want this anti-American crap on them when it drops.

Comment by Steve | 2008-06-04 04:42:52

He was expecting Hillary to just roll over and play dead for him, after all the horrible things his campaign has said about her and her family. I may lose a little bit of respect for her if she actually does. While it was Hillary’s mistreatment by Obama and the media that made me angry, it has grown beyond her now. This man does not belong in the White House, and not even she can convince me that he does.

Comment by sisterdo | 2008-06-04 05:05:31

Just showing me why it’s one of the two normals, if BO and the wife are THIS abnormal, this is probably just the tip of the crazy berg.

Seriously, they’ve done nothing but get worse and worse, the media and Soros are determined to make him our next king, but this would slow their roll on that enterprise.

If this came out today, the day after he just got coronated, all my fears of him become annointed by the determined MSNBC and Co. would go down a bit.

And seriously, I would sign up on McCain’s site to start donating b/c the annointing will continue but this–has to be fought.

I noticed that, too. I thought he was either angry or cynical. Strange reaction.

Comment by Kinky Ogremann | 2008-06-04 08:40:36

At the beginning he is different - sad - but at the end with the mob crowd, he was YELLING for a whole full minute (perhaps anger directed at those who are stripping him of HIS entitled crown today?). It was definitely weirdly different.

The Obamas were surprised that Wright was even a problem. And Pfleger. He told the Chicago Trib last year that his three spiritual advisors were: Wright, Pfleger, Moss. So I’m sure they think the tape should be no problem.

Comment by Kinky Ogremann | 2008-06-04 04:31:35

If this is true - than Larry deserves ALL the credit as he was the only one to break the news (in the face of overwhelming animosity from the Obama crowd and even before the million dollar news networks did), and the one to bring this tape to light now instead of October. I’ll bet anything Fox had it all along and were just sitting on their hands. They started making Farrakhan-Rezko-Ayers-Wright connections to Obama WAYYYY before anyone else even thought to look. They knew about this but chose to manipulate the election.
Thank you No Quarter for saving America!

He is done. It is up to the superdelegates to correct this thing now.

RIGHT FREAKING NOW, or else face total insubordination from the rank and file majority who supported Clinton.

Comment by kat in your hat | 2008-06-04 04:35:31

NO. How do you know these details? HUH?

I’m already angry–I can already hear her. How did you get this info??????

Comment by Steve | 2008-06-04 04:40:00

That’s why this is so believable - we can HEAR her saying it in that “you have a right to be ignorant - that’s America for you” and her “I’ve never been proud of my country before” tone of voice. Work in Obama’s “typical white person”, a couple of Rev Wright’s “god damn America”, and any scenes of her going off on whitey, and you have a recipe for the most devestating campaign ad of all time.

I’m seriously PISSED OFF. Then she goes on a tirade about Bill? Is this TRUE? For 30 minutes?? Blaming America for things?

I am SOOO upset if this is true!

There is going to be more — the corruption in the Chicago political racket — snObama’s close connections with so many really crooked con men.

He owes a lot of people — these crooks helped him get to the US Senate.

These people are all HURTFUL–every damn week, something painful!

Yep — you can say that again.

And then the GD fu*king Trolls — like some creatures out of a Stephen King novel. Their attack tells me that the DVD does exist and it is probably worse than most people have heard.

The only comparison I can think of are the white separatists — I’ve heard a minor rant from one of these creeps — they blame everything on the Jews and the non white — often lumping black and Latinos together.

What pissed ME off — kat in your hat — touched on this — snObama was NOT vetted. This garbage has been OUT there — it took the Republicans to find the stuff which makes snObama UNELECTABLE.

The general consensus seems to be she would, but some people think she’s too smart to get caught on tape saying it.

She’s pretty much been invisible for months now. If the tape is real, she’ll be infamous.

Three Wickets:

I used to think the same way about “the Dream Ticket” as people call it, but after I researched Obama…sorry no ticket with him on it has a chance. I spent weeks digging deep on all the front runners, and I know all about the dirt on Hillary: Peter Paul..NOTHING just a nut bag who got mad when Bill Clinton wouldn’t go to work advertising for him after the Clintons learned he was a convicted felon. Bill’s philandering…again nothing there any more, he’s getting to old to be chasing skirts and though Vanity Fair tried to claim otherwise, it was a blatant hit job by Obamatons with 0 merit. All the rest on the Clintons is rehashed BS the republicans spent years and hundreds of millions investigating to get a stained dress.

Obama: Ayers admitted unrepentant terrorist, Rezko about to be convicted of crimes linked to bribing politicians in Illinois. Alsamarae convicted former Iraqi minister of electricity who is wanted by both Interpol and the Iraqi government, who stole nearly $650 million in Iraq reconstruction funds. It is quite possible Obama even aided in his escape from prison in Iraq. Auchi, Wright, Pfleger, Ata etc etc etc. I think you can get the point on Obama being unacceptable under any circumstances!

Comment by Steve | 2008-06-04 05:36:09

More than that : the company went out of business two months BEFORE Clinton left office. How the heck is he supposed to go to work for a company that’s gone out of business?

Or was Peter Paul expecting him to start working for the company while still President of the US? Maybe pretend to be reading a comic book when the camera zoomed in one him, then putting it away and saying “Oh, hello. I wasn’t expecting you yet” like an SNL skit?

Peter Paul tried to bribe the Clintons, and failed. He’s a convicted conman. There’s a reason that story hasn’t gained any traction, and it’s because the story is idiotic.

(Wiping angry tears)

OK, guys, this is special: Hillary asked YOU to please speak to her here:
http://www.hillaryclinton.com/splash/sdmt/

Tell her you want her to stay and fight. Tell her how you respect her and admire her.

PASS IT ON.

Let’s make it a No Quarter Headline!

I think she wants to be able to say: X amount wants me to stay and fight, ya think? Yes I do.

Comment by Mark | 2008-06-04 05:25:25

Please, kat, don’t be naive. When you click to “send her a message”, it takes you straight to the fundraising page, right?

She knows it’s over but she’s deep in debt, and she knows that as soon as she concedes, the tap dries up. So she holds on for a few days, giving her die-hard supporters one last chance to getting her out of the financial hole she’s in. And the “send her a message” thing is the trick she’s using to drive people to the donation page.

I guess you have to admire the ingenuity, as much as you deplore the dishonesty and selfishness. But that’s our Hillary.

Comment by Northwest rain | 2008-06-04 05:36:08

SHUT THE FU*K up you jerk.

GO AWAY!

You are a dirty person — your messiah is dirty — filth. He plays with crooks and he is a crook.

That makes YOU a follower of a crook and therefore a crook! His wife is a racist and so is Mr. snObama who wrote in his filthy book: “white trash farm boys”. THAT is a racist statement.

So followers of the messiah are crooks and they are also racist — just like their messiah.

You trolls are also STUPID.

No, it doesn’t. I did it and lo and behold, a box opened up, into which I typed my message and my contact information. The NEXT page was the contribute page. You might want to actually try clicking on the site before you start slamming senselessly.

Comment by Mark | 2008-06-04 07:33:40

That’s exactly what I meant. You type in your message, click to send it, and the site takes you straight to the donation page.

That is, she asks you to send her a message, but you can’t send her a message without being asked for a donation.

Hence my point: she isn’t interested in what you have to say, she wants your money to pay off her debts.

Comment by Hillary or Bust | 2008-06-04 08:27:51

What I think you don’t get, Mr. Obama Troll, is that there are a lot of Hillary supporters who would be happy to give her some money even if it was just to help pay off the campaign debt, because we love her so much.

I’m glad she’s still raising money. It means she has not conceded.

One quick point on Roe V Wade.
The Republicans will NOT overturn it, if they do then they lose it as a campaign issue, and this can be proven quite easily. Until the 2006 elections, the Republicans had 5 years with the White House, The House and Senate, and Supreme Court. They could have EASILY overturned it if they wanted to, but they did not even TRY!

Comment by skmckinney | 2008-06-04 05:50:30

Absolutely right on.

On top of this, McCain is a moderate Republican.

And, IF THEY DO overturn it, that would be a temporary state and not like it is going to forever change the entire country; we can fight it.. without the likes of NARAL who dont know who is the better leader for women!!

Comment by Valeria Rogers | 2008-06-04 05:59:41

I’ve also listened to one of the Supreme Court justices about the improbability that a law that has been in effect for over 30 years would actually be overturned now.

Comment by skmckinney | 2008-06-04 05:52:55

She will clean up the issues on this one.. and it is nixing their plans and buggin the hecka out of them.

If this tape exists and is as advertised, Barack is toast.

But Hillary is elected in 2012 — too many Obamabots would scream bloody murder if Hillary is nominated this year.

You can’t just take away their messiah without consequence — there would be riots for weeks after the convention (these people are irrational cultists at this point.) The DNC also wants to avoid responsibility for race riots at all costs, and Barack losing the nomination from this type of video could spark it.

Too many people say that if Hillary gets the Presidency now, the Dem party will be fractured and there will be riots at the convention. So what? yeah yeah yeah…

i still think this CNN Report is the No. 1 reason why Obama will not be the nominee:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3Ned5TQoW4

how presidential is it to use slimeball political tactics to boot a respected community leader and civil rights activist off the ballot to make himself the ONLY candidate on the ballot for his first run for office?

the real tragedy is his explanation in the report of his justification of doing it…

I would love to have him expound on this belief today…

then ask yourself why this very same man removed himself from the ballot in Michigan…

Obama is the sleaziest presidential candidate this country has ever seen…

Anyone who knows his history in Chicago should be ashamed of the DNC

Change is coming, every vote is going to count this time!

I don’t know how much more room there is under that bus… First his grandma, racist for being afraid of being out alone at night. Then his preacher, just a couple weeks after defending him (he was shocked - SHOCKED I tells ya - to find out Wright was a racist). Then that priest fella. Then his entire church! That’s a pretty big building to crush under those bus tires.

But I’m sure, yeah, he could probably find room for Michelle under there somewhere. There’s no one whose reputation he won’t grind into paste in his pursuit of power.

It would be too easy to spread a conspiracy theory that Hillary planned it all post-primary if she becomes the immediate beneficiary.

I don’t think you understand:

We don’t care what the ObamaSnots think or believe, any more than they care about what we think, or feel, or believe.

Understand this: the Democratic Party is irrevocably broken, split, rent into pieces.

This has been done, systematically, cold-bloodedly, and with malice aforethought, by the party bigwigs/elders, urged on by their Wall Street patrons/pimps.

We see this. We’ve been around, we know the game.

And we do not forgive.

And we do not forget.

They have tried, very subtley, to tell people for a long time that Obama has baggage that will make him unelectable. Hillary has ultimately held back the most incriminating stuff in the interest of protecting the party in November. That’s awful good of her. But Obama doesn’t deserve her protection. But it’s better for everyone if she doesn’t get blamed for this either. I think it’s best if we allow the Republicans to throw this particular grenade.

Since it appears the video might come out early now its a good thing Hillary did not concede! Even without the video Hillary should fight on for us!

Hillary stole Obama’s thunder last night by not caving in to the pressure to concede. Did Obama really expect her to concede with all that is at stake and the fact she won the popular vote? As we know Obama is a bad judge of character by the company he keeps so it should be no surprise he misread Hillary’s amazing character!

The Obama campaign and the trolls need to wake up. The nominee is not selected until the end of August.

Make sure everyone lets Hillary know we want her to fight this all the way to Denver! We don’t want her to be the VP and we won’t vote for any Democratic ticket where Obama is on it. Hillary must be our next president!

Comment by Kinky Ogremann | 2008-06-04 07:07:29

It’s about time someone did a no-concession speech. If Gore or Kerry had made one and then insist on ALL the votes being counted, the world would be a very different place indeed today. Apparently, it took someone with real guts, courage, and tenacity to do it - Hillary.

Comment by JB | 2008-06-04 05:50:14

That said I do have serious doubts about the effectiveness of the Clinton Campaign. If this tape exists then the Clinton campaign should be ashamed of its performance. They should have uncovered it by now.

Now I understand why they couldn’t put it out there. This stuff is nuclear. Sure, it would kill Obama, but do you want a radioactive wasteland in its wake? You’d have a narrative of how whitey did brotherman that would not die. It’s the kind of thing that loses a constituency for decades.

To paraphrase Samuel L. Jackson, you have to appreciate how explosive this Obama situation is.

Comment by Kinky Ogremann | 2008-06-04 05:51:19

All these idiots who have been peddling Obama and propping up his sorry butt (Howard Scream, Donkey Brazziere, Kinky Ogremann, Chris Matthews, etc.) all owe America a collective apology and they all need to resign from the Democratic Party or their media jobs immediately tomorrow after the “whitey” tape comes out. They are all responsible, as are the media for letting this sit for so long - there needs to be serious new laws for the media (Media Ownership Reform Act). They owe us that much for peddling Obama’s garbage for the last 15 months without vetting him and nearly hijacking the presidency.

Comment by Steve | 2008-06-04 06:02:49

I think when it comes out exactly to what extent the media has rigged this primary cycle, heads will roll. They’ll have no choice but to bring the axe down, and hard. They’ve completely blown their credibility, and exercised no objectivity at all. They’ve reported off of Obama campaign talking points, not off of actual research or journalism.

Sickening.

Comment by Truth | 2008-06-04 05:51:41

At this point either produce the tape or I am calling BS. Lots of talk with no tape doesn’t add up to much.

I will believe when I see it, but honestly I don’t believe it because this isn’t how this type of thing works. Things like this don’t go unnoticed for this long.

Comment by Mr.Murder | 2008-06-04 05:58:07

How many years did Rev.Wright’s boilerplate go unheeded? Nice of Sen.Kerry to have vetted that background before the 2004 speech.

The simple solution is for Ob and Michelle to say now that she never used those words or made comments that were anti-white. Simple answer, so why don’t we see them doing this? Even Axelrod is silent on this.

Why?

Exactly right JB. I have no doubts the Clinton campaign had all the video’s on Rev Wright as well, but didn’t release them because they knew if they did it, they would be painted as race baiters. The Obama campaign did it any way even though they knew Fox released the Wright issue. Obama is immoral as they come, and thats enough not to elect him, but his history shows him to be a criminal just waiting to be indicted, so we MUST fight against him, or we are really in deep shit! How would you like to see Antoin Rezko as the Director of HUD?!?

Thanks for the new updates Larry. I rarely even turn my computer on at home in the morning anymore, but I did this morning specifically so that I could print out my MD voter registration form, so that I can make my party affiliation change official. There is nothing that could make me vote for Barack Obama. Nothing. If, by the time we get to November, I’m the only Hillary supporter who feels this way, I’ll be a lone defector and I’ll be so proudly.

Your not alone Sugar…..There is nothing that could make me vote for Obama either. I think the corruption is too deep and I think he is thoroughly indoctrinated into Black Liberation Theology. I think this is sad because it is a twisted political theology used cynically to manipulate the real concerns of the AA community….just like it’s parent philosophy Liberation Theology was used to manipulate Peasants in Latin Ameria…Like most versions of Marxism it is profoundly flawed and leads to no real solutions only strife and bloodshed….

The actual convention has not happened yet. I beleive that the Clintons have seen the tape. I know that they are too good for the Democrats that they will not be the ones to release it and destroy another Democrat. But they know it will come out and they should be waiting in the wings in case it is revealed before the convention. The party will have to make a hard decision. Stand by the flawed candidate or go with the people’s choice.

Hillary can’t be seen stepping on his dead corpse in ‘08. Must wait 4 years.

Comment by Sugar | 2008-06-04 06:27:15

As in times past, if Obama is the nominee after the Convention, Democrats will win a greater majority in Congress. We’ll just have a Republican president. The O-bots had better face that reality. No Hillary as VP either. I hope that even if he asks her, she’ll tell him to go fugg himself and try to win it on his own. Why should she help him? She’d have a better career and final bio when she’s breathed her last breath on this earth by just continuing on in the Senate, maybe running for Governor of New York or something, one of the most powerful states in the world. Screw Obama. He made this bed, now he’ll have to lie in it.

That is unless she decides to run after McCain serves his four years. She’d be a good woman to do that after the way she’s been treated.

Comment by cynic465 | 2008-06-04 06:32:10

A few thoughts:

What possessed the democrats to run a candidate with the type of baggage that will lose them the election? With a great number of African Americans who do not have this type of baggage and would more than qualify as a candidate, why him? They know the people, they know that the internet exists and info comes out faster than one can think, was it not clear to them that a racist, marxist candidate would be anathema to most voters?

Did they set him up for a fall? In modern times, until now candidates with even a whiff of such associations and baggage have not made it past their announcement.

As far as believing such a tape exists and that Mrs. Obama spoke in such a fashion - well listen to her speeches during the campaign and take a look at Black Agenda Report, Black Women Vote and some of the blogs linked to. The feelings described on the tape are echoed there by many writers and contributors. After reading much of the material I cried. The divide is so much greater than I thought - and I’m beginning to believe that it may never dimish.

If the tape exists and comes out then it will be evident that the DNP lacks judgement or set this up to fail, and they will have set back the election of an African American candidate many, many years. For many Americans, racial hatred from any race to any race is not tolerable, certainly not in a president. And it is deeds, not words that count as proof.

Given that the DNP has not had a president for most of the time, why would they make such a bad decision?

My bumper sticker will read:

If not the People’s President, then McCain.

Michelle Obama was dressed very inappropriately last night. Her cleavage was exposed, and the pearl necklace clashed with the revealing, violet affair she sported. More fit for a prostitute or a tart than for a wife of our party’s nominee, her dress should have been left in the closet. She takes herself too seriously. She is not ready for prime time.

Not really a story, but just so you know, when you go to St. Sabina church, there are links to BANNING GUNS–thwy are very anti-guns and and all about changing gun laws, which is PARTLY why Obama id getting grief about his wanting to ban handguns, etc….ETC. Listen…these people all have the same ideas in Chicago. Anyway, here is the video of Jesse Jackson and Father Pfleger outside of the courthouse:

I agree if he were white and had attended a Klan type church for 20 years, the DNC would have already thrown him under the bus! Actually, if he were white and tried to run for President with his resume, he would’ve been laughed of the stage!

The DNC is terrified of AA leaving the party for good. From their perspective they are willing to lose an election to remain in the good graces of AA.

Its their job however to give the nomination to Hillary if they believe he’s unelectable. That’s the purpose of Super Delegates.

Comment by indypol | 2008-06-04 06:59:05

Obama is not the nominee!!!! He doesn’t have 2210 delegates (which was the correct number six months ago, 3 months ago and should be now), and his current number is based on delegates who can (and have) change their minds. Senator Specter is starting a congressional investigation of the DNC’s deliberations last Saturday, and the Credentials Committee of the DNC will hear an appeal in a few days. Obama’s self-coronation, and the touted 2120 delegate number (?), are based on a bed of straw.

Clinton, on the other hand, has a clear popular vote lead, a lead in the electoral college and she’s finishing the primary season with a bang, not a whimper. Don’t buy the hype: she will be president. Nothing changed on 5/20 when Obama wanted to declare victory without the numbers, and nothing changed last night either.

She will be president, and after today’s revelation, you’ll understand why. Now we move into phase two.

I personally think that the McCain speech was not very good.

Then I watched the Obama speech….

and while watching Obama, I’m thinking “where have I seen all this shouting, all these crazed crowds handing on someones every word….”

and then it hit me — McCain’s speech was deliberately “toned down”, because when people watch Obama, Wright and Pfleger are in the back of their minds, and the style of Obama is the same as that of Wright and Pfleger.

And I think that McCain wanted to draw that contrast — he’s the calm, rational guy who does say or do crazy things — Obama is the guy shouting at people, and nobody knows what kind of craxy things he will say or do.

Comment by **== President & Commander-in-Chief Hillary Clinton **== | 2008-06-04 07:35:28

First off, I voted for Edwards in my state primary.

Obama or Hillary? Six of one, half a dozen of the other on policy. One is a black man, the other a white woman. I’ll happily vote for either of them. If this “takes Obama down,” which I doubt, I’ll vote for Hillary. It won’t be McCain no matter who th Dems pick. Anyone who thinks that is starkers. Even Jude Wanniski defended Farrakhan against the right wing a few years back. You were in intelligence so you know who Wanniski was. Sure, Farrakhan is a bit extreme, but less so than Hagee. No more than Billy Graham was with Nixon.

To the guy upthread who was going on about what states Obama can’t or won’t carry, first of all, Dems don’t need the south. If you think Obama won’t carry California, whatever Larry’s got, your delusional.

Read it and weep, kids.

Shame on you, Larry. You are doing more harm to yourself more than you are to Obama. Think of your reputation. I feel sorry for Susan. I feel sorry for you both.

EVERYONE READ THIS:

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2008/06/dean-pelosi-rei.html

With the final primary concluded barely hours before, top Democratic Party leaders in Washington early this morning ratcheted up the pressure to force all remaining uncommitted superdelegates to make their choice of candidate known by Friday — and thus end the now hopeless, one-time frontrunning campaign of New York Sen. Hillary Clinton.

The joint statement was obviously pre-planned and timed for issue shortly after Clinton refused to concede the presidential nomination’s victory to Barack Obama, who’s gained sufficient delegates to clinch the party’s nomination.

Howard Dean, chairman of the Democratic National Committee, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and West Virginia Gov. Joe Manchin, chairman of the Democratic Governors Assn., issued the brief statement for unity just minutes ago:

“The voters have spoken,” they said, adding later, “Democrats must now turn our full attention to the general election. To that end, we are urging all remaining uncommitted super delegates to make their decisions known by Friday of this week, so that our party can stand united.”

The carefully-worded statement, which does not urge the superdelegates to go one way or the other, is a clear step to force an end to the effort by Clinton, who said Tuesday she would take a few days to consider her options and protect the voices of the nearly 18 million voters who cast ballots for her in recent months. Her hand is now being forced by the Friday deadline.

The move is also a sly one politically, since it leaves Obama free of any appearance of forcing Clinton to quit and, thus, alienating her millions of supporters that the Illinois senator will badly need in the general election come Nov. 4.

In exit polls throughout the just-concluded primary season, an unusually high number of Clinton voters indicated they were likely to reject Obama and vote for the Republican Party’s presumptive nominee, Sen. John McCain of Arizona.

What bullshit. What a RIGGED nomination.

They’re about to find out who really holds the power. I think they might actually be surprised.

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-06-04 07:56:50

Well, what else is new, eh? LOL*

Consider the feelings of her supporters whose votes they might want later? Nah*…..Anything to humiliate Hillary.

Anyhoo*…..I think she’ll suspend the campaign later this week or early next week. She’ll repeat congratulations. She’ll repeat the unity message, emphasizing we’ll be united in the Fall. She won’t concede.

Until the convention. :)

Larry or Susan

Yes, I believe there is a tape, but the thought keeps running through my head that some of this is smoke, to cover something else, keep us busy, wondering what Obama’s wife said, just as what happened with his “preachers”, anyone who has no has paid attention these last few months knows of Obama’s “friends” and what “HE” believes, which brings me to this thought, dumb maybe, off base maybe we seem to be “missing” information about this person who has named himself “king” such as his medical records and BIRTH CERTICATE,told you it was off base, unless of course you really look at Obama.

According to the HillBUZZ site, which has a posting of the 2004 Conference Agenda, the agenda featured a “Women’s Luncheon with Keynote Address by Jesse Jackson” —- panelists are not listed. Could this be the event?

Comment by J.D. Rhoades | 2008-06-04 07:43:17

It’s been readily available up until March, right? Should be easy to produce, then, right? And no one’s done it yet?

Possible, but unlikely.

Hey, logic has never been their strong suit.

It ain’t logic, it’s math.

Comment by Steve | 2008-06-04 07:50:33

Of course someone’s done it. That’s what we’re all here talking about it for. Let’s stay focused!

Who cares how radical Farrakhan is. Obama is the one running for president and he is the one who hangs out with those radicals. That is why OBAMA is not fit to be president because his associates define Obama’s character. you seem to be confused as to who is who and who is doing what.

Who cares? You do.

McCain hangs out with bigger nutbars, like Hagee, but he’s fit to be president? BTW sport, the founders almost chose a three man executive during the constitutional convention of 1787. A co-presidency. They spent the longest time debating the nature, composition and charachter of the executive branch. Bet you didn’t know that. You just don’t like blacks. That’s your thing. As to trolls, most of the trolls here are from the GOP and Stormfront.

I need a bath.

Comment by typical irishman | 2008-06-04 07:59:17

Actually, get your facts straight. They do not hang out. Senator McCain has never sat under Hagee like say…Obama and Rev. Wright.

Comment by carolyn | 2008-06-04 08:12:58

McCain did not go to Hagee’s church every Sunday for twenty years. In fact he probably never set foot in Hagee’s church (which is in San Antonio TX).

I for one believe every bit of this story. I am only slightly unsure of who is really driving the story.

Michelle Obama has already shown that these are her beliefs, so why not let loose now and then? The statments by her yesterday, about “people lie”, is just too perfect. That little ditty should be added to the front of the tape when it comes out, so people can add liar ,to her long list of vices.

Hillary looked like a cat just before it eats the canary last night…..

The argument about Roe v. Wade is bogus. Take a good look at the Supreme Court and the judges. There is a conservative majority today. The two most likely judges to retire are liberals. Therefore, Roe could be overturned today if a case was brought.

Well, then, we will definitely see this rant of hers soon. Others who bought the CD will be able to provide it.

As for the site crashing, I must say I’m feeling less charitable toward our trolls right now. We have been driven off of the pro-Obama sites, have found places where we can discuss the results, and I personally find it ridiculous that they insist on ruining these sites, too.

Bully boyz tactics reinforce my already low opinion of that group.

Comment by J.R. | 2008-06-04 07:58:18

Did they run you out of the Huffington Post? Had to resort to more fringe avenues to vent your frustrations? Realize you couldn’t win the nomination fairly so you’ve resorted to desperation LOL. Where are you going to post next AnninCA? Stormfront?

Comment by Steve | 2008-06-04 08:00:10

I tried posting on Democratic Underground for a while. Back when I was excited about this race. Before I saw what Obama and his supporters had to offer - nothing but hate and lies and race baiting. Endless impugning of peoples motives. Blatant misrepresentation of remarks from Bill and Hillary that were so far removed from the actual remarks as to be considered libelous. And an absolute contempt for Hillary supporters, and an absolute glee that FL and MI wouldn’t be counted.

It didn’t take long for them to suck all the optimism out of me. So it’s funny that I’m only now, close to what the media would like us to think is “the end”, finding a place where it’s ok to say “You know what, I like Hillary Clinton.”

Comment by J.D. Rhoades | 2008-06-04 07:49:39

Did Obama really expect her to concede with all that is at stake and the fact she won the popular vote?

Ask Al Gore how much winning the popular vote means.

Actually, that has been debunked. The references to Jena, “why’d he”, Katrina etc are from a speculative thread on a pro-Obama blog. They have been taken out of context all over the web, and have no basis in any known reality.

Y’all will forgive me if I’m not eager to hand our best chance of winning the White house over to the same DLC crowd that dropped the ball so badly in 2000 and 2004.

The Rethuglicans would LOVE to see HRC as the nominee, so they could hammer her with her vote on Iraq JUST LIKE THEY DID WITH JOHN KERRY.

You want to see the “flip flops” waving in the air again? Well, you won’t becuase HRC isn’t going to be the nominee, so sorry.

Comment by LBJ's Love Child | 2008-06-04 08:01:29

One of the reasons the Obamadroids are so worked up is because they know what’s reported on the tape/dvd is perfectly plausible, because many of them believe what she may have said. For these, this whole campaign has been about “getting one over on The Man”.

But the GOP isn’t interested in using Michelle to bring down Obama. That’s already easy enough already.

No, the GOP sees this as a chance to severely damage the Democratic Party. All Dems will be labeled as unfit to govern, anti-American, UN-democratic (thank you RBC), undeserved affirmative-action, terrorist appeasers. Rezko’s graft and kick-back schemes will show how Obama’s patron use federal money to blunt any advantage the Dems would have on the economy.

Michelle’s talk just ties it all up in a neat little bow, with Dean, Pelosi, Kerry, and Kennedy all caught with their hands in the cookie jar.

527 ad:

(Clips of captain McCain in a POW camp, in a hospital, on crutches in uniform.)

“John McCain spent five years chained in cell, forced to listen to hate-filled anti-American propaganda from the North Vietnamese prison camp guards. John McCain has paid a price for our freedom.

(Clips of Wright, Pfleger, Moss, Obama and Michelle.)

Barack Obama and his wife, the beneficiaries of the freedoms that John McCain paid dearly for, have spent twenty years sitting in a pew listening to hate-filled anti-American propaganda, and gave thousands of dollars for the privilege.

Barack Obama and his wife want Americans to keep paying for their privileges.”

Hey, Larry, the first night Fox aired the Reverend Wright tapes, they showed one of his sermons where he was ranting about black on black crime, and his remark was “You’re killing the wrong people”. I have never seen that tape played anywhere on the air again, and I thought it was pretty incendiary, so could it be that Fox has the Michelle tape and is planning a kind of theme barrage with “You’re killing the wrong people” as the message? From the article above, it seems as if Michelle and Reverend Wright have the same opinion on the issue.

I’m sorry I must have stumbled into the Rush Limbaugh forum by accident. In all fairness, I am an Obama supporter, but come on! Are you people crazy?

You would subject this nation to four more years of suffering just because your feelings were hurt and your candidate didn’t win?

Seems a little short sighted and emotional. We are talking about the future of our country. We are talking about the world our children will inherit and people are willing to flush it down the toilet because they lost the primary. Hillary was a good candidate I could have voted for her in the general and I would be fine having her as VP.

Lord knows I wouldn’t have sold my children and grandchildren’s future out from under them just because Obama lost the primary.

If you really think the direction this country has gone in for the last 8 years has been healthy or safe then you should definitely vote for McCain. I just can’t believe Clinton supporters actually feel that way.

And this tape? Please!!! Is Karl Rove now running this board or is it the Swift Boat Veterans. This is what we have stooped to?

Yeah I have a “magic video” too. It shows Hilary doing terrible things. It is invisible and I haven’t actually seen it but be patient while I spread the rumor around the country.

Stop tearing each other down. It is time to unite and take our country back.

The reality is Clinton won.

I’m sticking with that.

I remember reading about Tony Blair one time, when his political eulogies were written it was said England miscalculated, thinking America had turned to the right, when actually, America voted for Gore.

America didn’t turn toward the right, the press presented a fake picture.

Once you start to believe CNN, et al, you’re toast.

I missed NoQuarter yesterday, glad it is back up! Thank you Larry for all you do. I too thought Barack Hussein Obama was rather glum last night, not victorious…

This morning at work someone said “It’s done”. I said “Not until August”. Someone actually said, well she could be Senate Majority leader and have a lot of power. She wants POTUS! It was suggested that I have serious issues with Barack, as if I am the one with the issues, not him! It sure is the twilight zone everywhere on earth except No Quarter.

I’m ready for a new bumper sticker, “Hillary or McCain 08″
