[VIDEO UPDATE] Obama Fundraiser and Political Patron Antoin “Tony” Rezko Convicted

Good job, Obamacrats. Do you seriously believe it is in the best interest of my Party to nominate someone who has had a professional, financial, personal and political relationship with a convicted slumlord and political fixer since at least 1991? Are we now the Party of corruption?

I quote the Chicago Tribune:

Rezko’s guilty verdict on 16 of 24 corruption counts could have broad repercussions for Blagojevich, who made Rezko a central player in his kitchen cabinet. It could also prove a political liability for U.S. Sen. Barack Obama, who once counted Rezko as a friend and fundraiser, as the likely Democratic presidential nominee heads into the general election campaign against Republican John McCain.

This will complicate Obama’s bid for the Presidency, for Rezko intends to appeal the verdict. [UPDATE: Moreover, the Republicans intend to highlight Obama's connections to Rezko during the campaign. I do not blame them, for as we discussed again and again at No Quarter, this is an issue of Obama's judgment and experience.

We warned you, but you ignored us. And no, I will not try to defend this, as Obama is not this registered Democrat's candidate. I am a person of integrity before I am a machine Democrat. I also do not rely on the Democratic Party's money in order to write online. Unlike other bloggers who will now mindlessly defend Barack Obama, I EARN MY MONEY ELSEWHERE.]

Thank you again, Obamacrats. I guess a McCain Presidency is the change in which all of us can believe.

The Chicago Tribune story also contains a window that outlines Obama’s relationship with Rezko since 1991. I recommend everyone view it. I also recommend consulting the documents the Chicago Tribune has compiled on the questionable property deal involving Rezko, Obama and the Kenwood mansion Obama and Rezko jointly purchased in 2005.

Also review No Quarter’s extensive dossier on Antoin “Tony” Rezko and Barack Obama.

We still have a chance to nominate the correct nominee, superdelegates. Will we choose a real President, or will we choose Rezko’s President?

No Quarter dossier on Barack Obama and Antoin “Tony” Rezko:

RezkoWatch contains even more information on Obama’s deep and problematic ties to convicted slumlord and notorious political fixer Antoin “Tony” Rezko.

I bet there’s plenty of dirt on Axelrod.
He has that special “Tony Rezko” look.

Comment by Seymour Glass | 2008-06-04 20:48:57

ya think?

he is Daley’s guy afterall.

Comment by Jack | 2008-06-04 22:19:33

Obama’s reaction today was telling.

He merely “it was not the Rezko I knew”

that’s very mild.

He flip flops on everything.

Throws his grandmother under the bus, now his preachers too.

He called his grandmother a “typical white woman”

But that’s all he can say about Rezko? After a criminal conviction? Why not something stronger?

He has to be careful, I bet. Rezko’s got dirt on him. In least REzko can explain the land sales without o’s diversions.

Judgment, Change, the key campaign slogans of OB.
He is part of the most corrupt political machine in the United States and Rezko’s conviction is a small part of what “Operation Board Games, Pay to Play”,
as stated by Chief Prosecutor, Patrick Fitzgerald,
who led the team to Rezko’s conviction (and convicted Scooter Libby). Ob’s total campaign is a fraud.

Send this to ALL SUPER D’s NOW. This is only going to get worse. Read the Republican National Committee press release here:

As much as I admire Jeralyn Merritt, to say that the Rezko trial and verdict have nothing to do with Obama is just about as accurate as saying that Obama “winning” the Democratic primary had nothing at all to do with Donna Brazile, Howie Dean and the rest of the Dem elites. Obama was a key player in pulling off the pay-to-play board schemes. Every time money changed hands, Obama cut a cut.

Comment by Mary | 2008-06-04 19:20:33

I would agree about Jerrilyn. She has always supported Hillary, but now says she’ll support Obama. So be it, but her analysis of how Rezko will NOT affect Obama is incredibly naive.

Rezko is just one more link in the chain of all the negative associations Repubs will use in the fall.

Americans in general, when confronted with Wright, Ayers, Khalidi, Pleger, and now, Rezko—guilty in federal court by the very best prosecutor there is—-will find Obama to enmeshed in “suspicious” relationships.

He’ll lose in a landslide. No questions asked.

Comment by Seymour Glass | 2008-06-04 19:38:10

She’s being a knee jerk criminal def lawyer – they are always like that///

BUT – she just removed – censored- disappeared 2 of my very legit comments about the Rezko – daley – Obama ’s law firm connect and I couldnt believe it!

I wrote her and told her I appreciatted her pro Hillary efforts – but the reason I went to her site was to get away from the censoring punks like Kos, Bowers and jonathon Singer…

but I have noticed recently her tendency to say what things were not ALLOWED to be discussed.

My question is what makes blog runners almost ALWAYS end up censors and convo fascists?

Its amazing!

I mean can you even imagine katherine Graham or even a Murdoch saying I dont agree with this topic – it SHALL not be discussed?!

Its amazing!

Well, it looks like all the Hillary HQ blog readers are gonna end up here at NQ.

Good. First, this site doesnt believe in censorship (why – whu – why – is it THE rarity?) and two – no quarter – means exactly that…

Death before dishonor – or to quote Churchill -

“Never give up…never, never, never…”

Cool your jets, my friend, and read my response to OTot “Sleepy” above.

I’m not an attorney, nor do I play one on TeeBee, but I worked as a paralegal in L.A. for years and fancy I know some things about the law.

I think Jeralyn is simply covering her own and TalkLeft’s cyber-behind should

a. Rezko not sing as anticipated, or

b. He sings, but not enough for Fitz to indict, or

c. Tony sings, Fitz indicts, but Obama skates anyway. This IS the Daley/Chicago Machine we’re talking here, after all.

In any case, I detect a lot of very careful, very lawyerly language in Jeralyn’s statement(s).

Cut her some slack, please, and BTW you’re not doing Hillary any good yourself, foaming and ranting all over the Intertubes. The First Amendment does not apply to privately-owned blogs, nor would it be a defense should Obama et al. go after Jeralyn for something some hothead–you, for instance–posted on TalkLeft.

Comment by teakWoodKite | 2008-06-04 22:17:35

You think Seymour Glass’s comments are “hot headed”?

I look at it like Einstein did. E=MC2.

The value of MC2 in this case are votes and not ones for Obama.

This is not rocket science. Bye Bye Obama.

Prove it…you are simply repeating lies that have NEVER been proven by anyone. you Hillary supporters are so shallow and just can’t accept the fact that your ‘gal’ did not win. end it. you sound like sheep with no character.

Comment by alexei | 2008-06-04 19:45:57

You sound just like an Obama worshipper. Do you have an idol of your master? Obama has not won. The MI and FL fiasco was just like what the Republicans pulled in 2000. Disenfranchise voters and steal votes is exactly why I won’t ever vote for any Dem supporter of Obama (of course not Obama either).

As far as the Operation Board Games “Pay to Play”, this is an equal opportunity, bipartisan scandal that the Rezko trial has just barely scratched. Obama and his buddies are just hoping he”ll be President, so he can pardon any who are convicted and stop any further investigations. Just like when Rove told Rezko that Fitzpatrick will be replaced and there would be no more investigation.

Fortunately, he is unelectable. I am now going to vote for McCain and work for him because this guy is so corrupt, so scary because of his “associations” and his total lack of any qualifications and experience. He is the Dems version of George W Bush.

Comment by Seymour Glass | 2008-06-04 19:49:52

Jesus H…

one witness in the trial said that he saw Obama coming to meet with Rezlo many, many times….

MO ONE expected Obama to be brought up – THIS trial was about a very specific part of the Gov’s admin and the pension board. There are to be 3 more trial;s btw…

Plus – its all about obamas bad judgment hanging around these very bad. corrupt figures.

Remember – Obama called rezko his political mentor.

Comment by LandOLincoln | 2008-06-04 21:07:49

Elizabeth, don’t you DARE lecture us about character, you sanctimonious little ass.

Comment by Faustina | 2008-06-04 18:42:38

Whether or not Obama has ever been actively involved in any criminal activities, his associations do matter. If he has associated with convicted felons, especially those selling political influence, IT IS A BIG DEAL. If he has a long-standing, working relationship with a convicted felon, IT IS AN EVEN BIGGER DEAL.

One of the victims of the Bill Ayers bombings, who is now a police detective, appeared on FOX News and made the unassailably reasonable point that persons applying for the position of POTUS should meet the same or higher standards than police officers. He mentioned that he knew of fellow police officers who were fired or released only because of their casual associations (boyhood friends, neighbors, etc) with criminals.

Obama has no business being the media- and self-proclaimed Democratic nominee for POTUS!!!

Comment by typical.white.person | 2008-06-04 18:44:03

Obama:

“Well, first of all… this is not unique to this contest,” Obama said. “You’ll recall in 2000 there were all sorts of John McCain supporters who said, “We’ll never vote for George Bush.” And they ended up voting for George Bush. You know, it’s happened before. I don’t take those who voted for Senator Clinton as an insult. I just think that they preferred her in a match-up between me and her.”

He’s right. I preferred Hillary. But, his comparison of him today to Bush and McCain in 2000 is effing delusional. While he and Bush are both idiots, Bush didn’t hang around with thugs and criminals. Or, at least Bush’s friends were white collar criminals.

Comment by Hope Floats | 2008-06-04 19:11:56

If I had given a flip about the Republicans in 2000, I would have voted for McCain over Bush. I would have voted for McCain over Gore. Just think how much better off the world would have been. No 2004 sitting out an election between Bush and Kerry. Third time’s the charm.

It has all the details about the deal, but the most interesting detail is how Rezko and Obama got the owner to split the parcel. The was one single parcel for 80 years, and with the help of Michelle Obama they were able to make the split.

It’s not a tit-for-tat deal. Rezko’s connections to Obama are complex to follow, but it’s not all that impossible.

So far, the only real connection is the house…and some energy corporations connections.

He frankly is such a lightweight that he didn’t have much to offer Rezko.

But…my guess is that the connections that propelled him into office will now be wanting a bit of a payback on their “investment,” other than his vote on a bad energy bill that is his sole real record.

Comment by POdVet | 2008-06-04 19:35:28

don’t forget Obama’s pushing to change the number of members on the boards, that allowed Rezko and Blagojevich to place corrupt members on (members Obama supported!) those boards. Guaranteeing Rezko and his cronies the contracts.

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-06-04 19:48:48

I did forget about that.

Mosty, during the primary, I saw Obama lie directly to the public, claiming he only worked 4 hours on a case. He had given back only 30,000 in donated money.

Then, he got busted. He gave back a total of 120,000.

He lied directly to the public, and that was the 3rd major lie to people.

Obama is a liar. No question about it. He obviously denies stuff until it’s stuffed down his throat, so I couldn’t care less what he says about this situation now. I already know. Liars lie. That’s just their character.

Comment by Seymour Glass | 2008-06-04 20:05:19

Comment by Pagan Power | 2008-06-04 18:54:30

You asked if the Democratic party had become the party of corruption. The answer should be obvious. The blind eye toward Obama’s association with people like Rezko and Ayers demonstrated that the DNC has no scruples.

If that wasn’t enough evidence, the DNC’s decision to make a back room and illegal determination concerning Florida and Michigan should have made it obvious.

And just in case we weren’t totally convinced, their undemocratic stripping of earned delegates from Hillary and given to Obama and the awarding of delegates to Obama when he wasn’t even on the ballot made the obvious completely apparent.

Comment by ulahane | 2008-06-04 18:56:11

Hillary suspending her campaign: that would be fine because she still would retain her delegates until the convention and lots can happen between now and August 25. ;)

The Rezko verdict must have the trolls pretty upset. Does he have incriminating evidence? Will he seek a deal and who is the evidence against?

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-06-04 20:19:19

Exactly right, Pres….It would be irresponsible to keep her staff on. And way too disheartening for us, too. The press has been mean enough to her. I’m glad this is over for one reason. I’m a huge admirer of our Annie Oakley, but if I never read one more insulting story that’s just plain nasty, it will be none too soon. It’s abusive to us!

Suspending is perfect. I like whomever suggested that she and Bill just go take a great vacation.

She’s conducted the campaign beautifully. Everyone got a say in this. She didn’t let them pretend this wasn’t a near tie.

She’s earned the right to be treated like the lady she is. And I cannot wait to send money to the candidate who is running against Pelosi.

(I hear that this woman is giving her the first challenge to her seat in years.)

*woohoo*

Comment by claribel borden | 2008-06-04 20:32:55

I think rather than suspend her campaign she should work the superdelegates, and delegates, make the case.

Obama is Blago, period, and I’m willing to bet their corruption is similar, too.

I mean, really, goddamn Howard Dean for foisting this corrupt simple minded piece of shit on the public. Obama and the hospital boards? What other Rezko is waiting to get his hands on social security, OUR social security? And on, and on, and on.

Election fraud in the Texas caucus, that could result in a 60 vote shift in delegates when the Texas results are finalized. The RBC violating several of their own rules to give Obama delegates he was not legally entitled too. The DNC rules recognize uncommitted as a valid vote, and there is NO provision for giving those votes to any candidate. They must by the rules go to the convention as UNCOMMITTED! By the DNC’s rules Obama is still nearly 100 delegates short of even being the presumptive nominee. Look it up MORON!

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-06-04 19:57:41

Heck, he had to steal 4 of her delegates so he could be rude and make sure he announced his nomination right when she was winning South Dakota.

LOL*

What idiot thought up that plan?

I should not be surprised. Everytime I fly anywhere and see my tax dollars at work with that idiotic Homeland Security group, I’m reminded of just how amazing it is that anything works at all in this country. We certainly are led by a bunch of not-so-bright nuts.

Blew me away when a Clinton supporter and member of the RBC, Mame Reiley of Virginia, made the motion to accept the compromise for Michigan. When Lou Dobbs asked her about it, she said “We set the rules aside” in the interest of party unity. Bull hockey on that. She knew that her term is coming to a close and wants to be reelected when Virginia holds its convention on June 14th. Obama people are already gunning to get rid of Hillary supers, but they’ll probably now love Mame since she helped O’boy save the day. My vote is going against Ms. Reiley.

Comment by Dipsomaniax | 2008-06-04 21:10:06

Clinton agreed to that motion. Hell, Ickes and McAuliffe did. Obama had support for a 50-50 split but decided to forgo that.

I’m trying to see where Obama ’stole’ anything there.

He did, but at Rezko’s trial, it was revealed Rezko told his crooked cronies it was for show, much like this nominee process — it meant nothing, it was an election ploy meant to hoist Blago, and Obama, and others, on Ryan’s failures.

Rezko stated flat out election reform was a scam, purposely, to fool the voters.

And then he took another cut “bring paper bills.”

I just pulled up the homepage of AOL. There’s a big headline that reads, “Clinton Ready To Quit Race”. The subhead reads, “Reports say she’ll exit on Friday”. I read the story, and here’s what it said. ABC News reports that Clinton will hold an event on Friday where they believe she will finally concede the race. No sources are identified or quoted for the story.

Rezko scandal already casting shadow over presidential race

By MIKE ROBINSON | AP Legal Affairs Writer
June 4, 2008

CHICAGO – A corruption scandal involving a fundraiser who bankrolled the campaigns of Sen. Barack Obama and Gov. Rod Blagojevich is guaranteed to take on fresh life as the nation heads into a hard-fought presidential election.

Chicago businessman Antin “Tony” Rezko, 52, was convicted Wednesday of fraud, money laundering and aiding and abetting bribery in a plot to squeeze illegal payoffs out of firms hoping to do business with the state.

Republican spin doctors are already capitalizing on Rezko’s ties to Obama — the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee.

“Today’s verdict and Obama’s friendship with Rezko raises serious questions about whether he has the judgment to serve as president,” Republican national chairman Robert M. “Mike” Duncan said in a statement.

And Blagojevich’s political survival is in doubt. State lawmakers are already talking about impeachment and a primary fight is likely in 2010.

Rezko’s $8 million bond was revoked and he was taken into federal custody after the verdict in the two-month trial that exposed a corrupt culture of payoffs and campaign finance abuses plaguing Illinois politics.

U.S. Attorney Patrick J. Fitzgerald said the verdict represented “an antidote to the poison of corruption” that trial testimony alleged included the fixing of state boards that controlled a $40 billion pension fund and made major decisions about million-dollar hospital construction.

He expressed hope it would have an effect on Illinois politicians.

“If morals don’t get to them, I hope the fear of going to jail does,” Fitzgerald told reporters.

Rezko’s conviction also intensifies the spotlight on his relationship with Obama. They have known each other for decades and Obama calculates that Rezko has raised $250,000 for his Senate and legislative campaigns.

Rezko, a Chicago real estate developer and fast-food entrepreneur, was convicted of six counts of mail fraud, six counts of wire fraud, two counts of aiding and abetting bribery and two counts of money laundering.

The jury acquitted him of three counts of wire fraud, four counts of aiding and abetting bribery and one count of attempted extortion.

His conviction was a stunning victory for federal prosecutors who accused him of plotting with admitted political fixer Stuart Levine to squeeze payoffs out of money management firms that sought to invest the assets of the $40 billion state Teachers Retirement System.

Rezko also was charged in the 24-count indictment with plotting with Levine to get a $1.5 million bribe from a contractor who sought state approval to build a hospital in the McHenry County suburb of Crystal Lake.

Levine pleaded guilty to the charges and became the government’s star witness in hopes of getting a relatively lenient 5{-year sentence.

Fitzgerald declined to estimate what sentence Rezko might get. U.S. District Judge Amy J. St. Eve set Rezko’s sentencing for Sept. 3.

Rezko, who has dual U.S. and Syrian nationality, had been free on $8 million bond pending the trial’s conclusion.

The jurors laughed and declined to comment when one reporter asked if they had realized how corrupt Illinois politics can be before the trial.

Well Rezko is hoping that he and Barky’s friends Alsammarae and other Iraq prison escapees will help Barky get elected so that he can pardon Rezko and make him director of HUD.

Incidentally, Barky had to give money to charity again, money contributed by Alsammarae. Alsammare put up more than 2 Million toward Rezko’s bail. The problem is, Alsammarae is an escapee from an Iraq prison. It seems he was the minister of electricity there and got caught taking a 1.5 million bribe in exchange for a 100 million contract…to Rezko. WHen Alsammarae escaped and arrived in Chicago (of course), he called the press to tell them he escaped “the chicago way” and that the authorities wouldn’t be dumb enough to try anything with him. So another charity got to get some more of Barky’s contribution money. That kind of slipped by the radar. Like lots of things. But it didn’t get by Rove, I’m sure.

Comment by POdVet | 2008-06-04 21:07:55

Alsammarea also stole $650,000,000.00 in Iraq reconstruction funds. Contacted Obama’s offices after he was arrested, and Obama asked the State Department about Alsammarae just before a private US security firm broke Alsammarae out of a US prison in Iraq! Alsammarae is now running around Chicago even though he is a fugitive wanted by INTERPOL and Iraq!

Just kick back, eat popcorn and jeer at the idiots who installed him as the nominee.

Hello Susan and Larry,

First I want to thank you for your blog. I heard Hillary will suspend her campaign, which is what I suspected she would do, the convention is 3 months away. The GOPs will finally vett him and Fox news, as well as the conservative papers and talk radio, most of which is right wing. There is so much scary stuff about this emptysuit, that by the time the convention comes ard, I am convinced he will not be the nominee.

I am sure the fraud;s camp is mad that she did not concede, but rather she SUSPENDED. Please keep up your good work, I enjoy coming here and finding out things about that fraud that should be reported in the first place.

PLEASE PLEASE keep up the good work, we all deeply appreciate it!

Pass it around friends. If this isn’t hate speech I don’t know what is.

He didn’t.

And believing a lie is not conducive to healthy, and accurate decision making.

Just ask Cheney.

The media is not paying enough attention to Obama’s serious issues. I propose that we flood the networks email systems with demands that they cover the stories! This way they will have to pay attention. If we crash their servers with demands, maybe they will get the message. No corrupt Obama!!!!

Me, neither, Robin.

I also will not vote for, or support, McCain, this is simply a matter of exposing what really moves Washington, the corruption.

And in that sense, Obama and McCain may have much in common.

The republicans fall for the same lies the democrats do, but they lie to themselves, both are absolutely useless.

The corrupt ones, anyway.

Since you haven’t noticed, there are MANY other topics discussed here that don’t bode well for Mr Obama, do you have any justification for his friendship with Rezko?

Comment by Mel | 2008-06-04 20:02:32

U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald would not comment on whether Rezko could catch a break in his prison time if he cooperates in other cases related to government corruption.

“I’m not going to address the specific of what would happen if Mr. Rezko cooperated. Any defendant has the opportunity to seek to cooperate. That is a decision under the law they make, not me. As far as I know they have never given us the power to decide what they want to do and that is unfair for us to answer a hypothetical question,” said Patrick Fitzgerald, U.S. Attorney.

In other words, Rezko will be singing tomorrow and a deal will be made for Rezko and Syria will take Rezko back with open arms after Obama and others trials are over!

$300 million spent on a criminal crooked politician and terrorist lover who will be off to jail!

And for the ignorant ones,
accepting gifts not reported on taxes is a crime, influence peddling on hospital boards is a crime and Obama was on the board!

Stay healthy Tony Rezko, speak fast, know your “get out of jail free boy” will never get the keys, so sing Tony sing!

Comment by claribel borden | 2008-06-04 20:03:53

This trial was not about Obama, specifically, it was about Rezko. Obama certainly was in the peripheral, anyone with two brain cells could put it together, without waiting for Fitzgerald to legally certify it.

That will come, later.

Only an uninformed individual would make a statement like that of Talkleft, uninformed, or disingenuous.

Or someone desperately in denial, as he lies.

And this is how it starts, now those who crucified Bush for his crimes will have to defend Obama for his.

Just like McClellan, and Fliescher, and Dana Perino.

we want hillary. but even more than that, much more than that, we want your despicable, crooked, racist, anti-american, arrogant, intellectually lazy, completely unqualified, asshole candidate to lose.

we want him to lose in a worse-than-mcgovern landslide, so that the democratic party will have to learn that it can no longer act as the autocratic party or it will go into oblivion. remember the whigs? didn’t think so. if the dems don’t clean up their act soon, noone will remember the dems either. nor should they.

we real dems, the ones you obamaloons say are not the real dems, actually believe in democracy. notice i said democracy, not the “democratic” party. when the democratic party is the party of democracy, we support it. when it, as now, is the party of autocracy, we do not.

Both he and his wife are lawyers and neither of them knew?

He’s being touted as someone short on experience but long on judgment.

If this is an example of his good judgment I’d hate to see what happens when his judgment is bad.

Stunned at how quickly TalkLeft switched to support Obama because they were the first to release the P. Cronin statistics on how the democratic elitists behind Obama stole this primary from voters.

If she and her blog now support Obama that means that they believe it was OK for Obama and Axelrod (a known corrupt political fixer) to deny us democrats an honest chance to vote for the candidate of our choice.

What the hell is wrong with her????

Does she think we’ll line up like privates behind the drill instructor and follow orders??? I won’t, 50 years a democrat and I want better from this party I have supported….clean up your G.D corrupt primary system!!!!

Yeah Jm, I know what you mean. I am from Chicago also and I too am fed up with Obama.I have lived here far too long and have witnessed all the AA pressure that has been put on “ALL” of us to give in to their demands! I’ve had enough.
I saw this coming months ago. As soon as the AA’s (90 percent of them) voted for him, I knew the DNC would do what ever they could to give him the nomination. Anyone who has lived in a big city has had to eat shit when it comes to this voting block. I know many AA’s that are aghast at this but I also know many ,many more that use it to their advantage. That was done here. we can’t “TAKE” the nomination from “Him” without risking the AA backlash! Bullshit! When will we all learn that it is not about one race of people, but it is about us all. Obama has only succeded in dividing us far more than anyone is willing to admit. Race relations have been set back 40 years because of his so called “CHANGE”!

That’s clearly not what Jeralyn said. Please read her entire post on the subject, in which she concludes:

“But there’s more than integrity at stake when we put trust in our future leaders. We also have to trust their ability to lead us and their experience and judgment are very much a part of that. Obama’s failure to spot both the warning signs and clear indicators of conflicts of interest with Rezko do go to the issue of experience and judgment.”

I left the Democratic party in Massachusetts about 4 years ago. I felt that Massachusetts Democrats had no longer represented my political philosophy.

Now, I feel the same happening on a national level. Barack Obama’s values don’t resonate with me. Yes, I want the war to end. Yes, I want every American to have access to health care.

But when the “Presumptive Nominee” and his wife have religious, political and personal ties to people who are anti-American, that is where I draw the line.

What in the world, is wrong with the Democratic party? It’s not the party I grew up believing in.

i don’t care about the MO “tape”

its only relevant for people who can’t see the horror of a presidential candidate and the Democratic Party stealing votes and refusing to count votes…

and that the candidate who is stealing votes has a long and well documented history of stealing votes and sabotaging the democratic process for personal gain…

and this same candidate is involved with criminals like Daley and Rezko etc etc…

Obama is a cheap and dirty Politics as usual politician…

the american people deserve better…

Now that we all agree that we don’t want any of this “UNITY” narcotic, what do you all think we should do with our votes? It has been made abundantly clear to me that These Obamafucks don’t want us in “THEIR” party. Now that Brackula has sucked the life out of the DNc, where do we go from here? Just asking.

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-06-04 21:13:47

Dragon…..I am taking the position that McCain is asking for my vote, just as Hillary and Obama did.

So, I’m listening and evaluating. Today, he made his “anti-gay-marriage statement.” Nothing unexpected. I disagree with his moral add-on. I do agree with his States right rule on this. I don’t think that’s a Federal issue. I also am conservative enough to believe it’s not necessarily a court issue. It is only a court issue when the law passed is constitutionally incorrect.

CA has yet another weary referendum on this issue. I predict THIS time, the population will vote it down. Just my take. We’re tired of this debate, and today a national poll emerged showing over 60% of the country ready to get the government out of this altogether.

Who cares?

So I see the religious right waning in influence.

Right now, I see the religious left dominating. They are equally repugnant to me.

So I’m going to vote for the most moderate message offered.

I don’t want war. I don’t want meeting with Castro. I don’t want government interference with the markets. I don’t want government allowing the financial companies to rape the middle class. I don’t want state hospitals. I don’t want Blue Cross to take premiums and then boot people out when a claim is filed.

I am sick of the Patriot Act. I want privacy rights of citizens restored.

I am now sick of Affirmative Action that leaves out women and older Americans. I bought into that, but I wasn’t buying into the idea that only AAs benefits.

Fuck that BS.

I won’t even get close to my “wish list.” I never have, and that was even with Clinton. I get it. Nobody can solve it all.

But my vote is up for grabs. So far? McCain hasn’t shocked me.

Obama? Oh, he’s shocked me out of even considering voting for him. He has truly shocked me.

I thought I was unshockable. I was wrong.

He’s the LEAST transparent and has been from Day 1.

He follows the Bush communications paradigm.

CHICAGO – A corruption scandal involving a fundraiser who bankrolled the campaigns of Sen. Barack Obama and Gov. Rod Blagojevich is guaranteed to take on fresh life as the nation heads into a hard-fought presidential election.

Chicago businessman Antoin “Tony” Rezko, 52, was convicted Wednesday of fraud, money laundering and aiding and abetting bribery in a plot to squeeze illegal payoffs out of firms hoping to do business with the state.

There will be no concession on Friday. This is just more Obama/AP-created media spin. Nothing will happen on Friday, accept her acknowledgement, once again, that he doesn’t have 2210 delegates, she won the popular vote, and is still seeking the presidency. The Clinton’s are shifting to delegate persuasion mode now because they know that Obama’s floor is about to fall out from under him, and there is a way for them to get the pledged delegates they need to reach 2210. They will be ready to clean up the mess way before Denver. Count on it.

Friday will be relatively quiet, with no bombshells emerging from the Clinton camp. The self-coronation narrative is cracking, and Obama is desperate to turn the page, with the help of big media.

Please bombard HillaryClinton.com with advice and letters of encouragement. She gets her energy and determination to win from the people, not pundits and colleagues.

Comment by susanunpc | 2008-06-04 21:23:13

We got an announcement from the campaign. She is suspending her campaign, and has changed the day to Saturday to allow more people to attend.

I think it’s smart — she is expressing a desire for unity but RESERVING her options until the convention — during which time a LOT can happen.

HERE’s the statement in full:

Statement from the Clinton Campaign

Senator Clinton will be hosting an event in Washington, DC to thank her supporters and express her support for Senator Obama and party unity. This event will be held on Saturday to accommodate more of Senator Clinton’s supporters who want to attend.

Hillary suspending and “supporting” Obama but not endorsing and reserving all her rights to her delegates until the convention on doing this on a slow news day Saturday is brilliant.

She has masterfully bought us bloggers the time to do way more research without the headache of upcoming primaries.

Trolls you can go screw yourselves. This is way far from over. And shove your unity pony. We won’t ride.

Hillary take some time off. We have your back covered and will get you the nomination.

We were not in two different wars, and the Clintons did not have their names tied up with our enemies. A little corruption is to be expected. Associations that amount to treason are worrisome, to say the least, in a presidential candidate with no experience.

The Rezko conviction itself provides an indirect shot at Barack Obama for the moment, showing the kind of people with whom he associated while a Chicago politician. Over the last three months, we have seen Obama’s associates such Jeremiah Wright and Michael Pfleger “damn America”, while his relationship with unrepentant domestic terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn — both of whom still talk about “overthrowing capitalism” — shows Obama to be mighty comfortable around radical anti-American sentiment. Now we can add a convicted crook to that circle of associates, especially since Rezko raised over a quarter-million dollars for Obama during the same period in which he committed the crime and corruption for which he was convicted today.

That could change between now and Rezko’s sentencing. Rezko’s defense chose not to call any witnesses, arguing that the prosecution hadn’t proved the case. The wire and mail fraud counts can bring 5 years each alone, and it’s probable that Rezko will get a sentence that will keep him in prison for life. If Rezko wants to avoid dying in prison, he’ll start cutting deals. The primary target for those kinds of deals would be Governor Rod Blagojevich, who got tied to a specific bribe during the trial. If Rezko knows where bodies are buried with Obama, this ceases to be an indirect problem and starts being a potential political catastrophe.

So far, Obama has been lucky in regards to Rezko. Th

That’s why this Rezko story is and is not important. It can only be proven in retrospect.

What I do know and can know is the Obama lied to the public about this association and others. He stared us in the eye and lied.

Rezko’s guilty verdict on 16 of 24 corruption counts comes of no surprise. Obama’s reaction as reported in the Chicagotribune.com, “I’m saddened by today’s verdict,” Obama said Wednesday. “This isn’t the Tony Rezko I knew, but now he has been convicted by a jury on multiple charges that once again shine a spotlight on the need for reform. I encourage the General Assembly to take whatever steps are necessary to prevent these kinds of abuses in the future.” Does part of Obama’s statement sound a little familiar to you? One of Obama’s comments about Rev. Wright went like this, ”I have been a member of Trinity United Church of Christ since 1992, and have known Reverend Wright for 20 years,” Obama said. “The person I saw yesterday was not the person that I met 20 years ago.”

I think Senator Clinton will suspend her campaign and say she will support Senator Obama. “Support” vs. “endorse”, I see a difference, not just semantics, what say you all?

Indy Robin, it’s sagesgram from you know where – nice to see you over here, makes me feel at home. This is just a personal feeling, but I don’t think our other home has now, or ever will have, that great family feeling we enjoyed so much. Unless my ears just betrayed me, I heard Greta VanSustern say that Michelle Hussein Obama is going to be a guest co-host on The View, but I didn’t get the date! Damn! Be sure, she’ll more than likely say something to put one of her big feet in her scoop mouth. Let’s be prepared to deal with that.

Comment by Arabella Trefoil | 2008-06-04 21:42:45

Maybe Elisabeth H. will be the cohost. Should be pretty good. They are both annoying women, in contrasting styles.

Ooooh Arabella, that would be goo-ood! I think that Baba Wawa might give Elisabeth a good stern talking to beforehand though to keep her calm. Otherwise, those two might bump heads in a major way! Two type A’s going at it! lol

I suppose this guy hasn’t been around for the filth and scum and obscenities and threats, the intimidation, the sarcasm and every manner of abuse by obama’s brain impoverished tribe.

To come here and tell other people how to conduct themselves. Here’s news for you, joker HILL supporters are going to do ourselves a lot of good. We are going to campaign against the phony messiah straight to hell if that is what it takes.

For the sane majority at NQ, if you ever think of letting up on the crook who just claimed his stolen, bribed, paid off, rule-less, ruthless, fake math counted Delegate Lead, just watch his arrogant, mindless remarks in MI today, to get riled up and go back to work on his certain defeat. Oh, yes, LandoLincoln, we plan to do ourselves a great deal of good. You’ve not seen anything yet.

HILL Supporters, watch and laugh your heads off. little mister messiah tells the press we’ll all be with him soon: Guess when you do drugs and lie enough that’s what happens to your brain:

I love your comment!

We’ve been fighting this for a long time and the trolls seem to think the game is over. This is the half-time break and we are in the lead 14-13 and the opposing team’s quarterback just got sacked by the Rezko verdict. The trolls will have to defend Obama until the convention while Hillary sits back and laughs her ass off. And either way we win. If not Hillary we’ve softened up Obama for McCain to finish him off in the GE. No matter what America wins.

JMK, I’m sorry you feel that way but if you’ll re-read my post, you migh discern that I SUPPORT HILLARY, and furthermore I utterly loathe Barack Obama and his equally disgusting wife.

That’s why I warned Seymour Glass that he wasn’t doing Hillary any good by going off on Jeralyn, and ranting about censorship and freedom of speech. It’s Jeralyn’s blog, and she can do as she pleases with it, and he really was over the top IMO. (He’s now banned at TL and the offending post is long gone.)

I myself lurk TL but don’t post because I’d probably be banned in short order myself, but I doubt that I’ll be spending much time there after this weekend anyway. No Unity Ponies for this cowgirl! I’m PUMA* all the way. ;-)

I agree. I hear the warning about “guilt by association” stories. It leads to paranois talk.

However, I do think when it piles up, it piles up.

The latest about Bill Clinton? That’s trash talk. Nothing to that Vanity story. Even one of the women noted came out roaring against it.

But … Obama is just racking up these stories as we all get to know him, know his roots, know his perspective.

Me? I think he’s a president in your pocket. The biggest yellers are the biggest sell-outs.

They don’t draw lines or have many scruples. He’s supported by the Black Militants? He supports them. When others support him? He’ll throw Wright under the bus.

That’s now clearly his position. He’s about to become the Tiger Woods of politics.

But……for me, a voter? I’m looking at a guy with a history of voting “not present” and seeing exactly the same thing going on.

So, I look to who is controlling him.

Pelosi? Who lied to the public about the role of SD’s?

OK…….so I get this gig. Look at the down-ticket folks if you want a party back that makes sense.

Otherwise, we’re just all going to end up exhausted by stupid debates that mean zip and end up being uninvolved.

I don’t believe in radical change. I don’t think it works.

I do believe in engagement. Annie Oakley showed us the way we need to do it.

With grace. With a light touch at times. But stay involved.

I think its time for you people to face the facts. Hillary lost because she ran a flawed Campaign. YOu act like Bill and Hillary didnt haveissues when Bill first ran in 92. You say Obama is racist, i actually dont understand that why. I also dont understand what exactly he lied about. You say you will support McCain or your leaving the party or you wont vote for a Democrat who supports Obama. Well what are you going to do when Hill supports him. Are you gonna turn against her to. You guys need to think rationally.

I thought being a Democrat meant you believed in a certain set of ideologies, like ummm, liberty and equality. There policy issues arent that far apart but you people would rather see McCain in office. Some one who is completely polar to the views of the Democratic PArty and its principle. Some one who is obviously opposed to equality for all. He doesnt support gay right or Universal Health care, the later being something that Hillary absolutly wants.

You guys say you dont want to vote for Obama because he cant win. Will if you get off you high horse, pitty party, and support someone who believes in helping you and supports isuues that Hillary fights for then maybe just maybe he will win in a landslide. I mean come ont now, are you supporting the policies or the person. Is the posibility of more war and more death and sending more of our kids to fight and die not enough to stop your igotistical pitty party. Every election year i lose more respect for the intellect of the AMerican Citizenry, its really a shame actually. You’ll get your victory only when McCain has spread war, and appointed supream court jutices to over turn Roe vs. Wade. Yeah some type of womans rights huh?

Comment by ulahane | 2008-06-04 22:03:02

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-06-04 22:04:54

Amen……..I’m not at all stressed out that he could win.

Trust me. Obama will shit when Pelosi tells him to shit.

What does worry me is Pelosi. LOL*

We’re talking about a candidate backed by a Democratic congress with 18% approval rating.

Like that’s not based on reality?

She’s gonna tell him to shit here and do it this way, and the public is going to scream.

They don’t have the will of the public.

Therefore, we’re looking at no progress whether it’s McCain or Obama.

OK……but 4 more years of not addressing real problems means just that.

WE must remember that we did this.

I’ve watched this debate over the war and noted that everyone is really comfortable forgetting that Bush got the public behind him. People who spoke up against it got voted out.

That is the reason I know the “progressives” are the new religious right.

They aren’t fair on this issue at all. They are lying. Therefore, they are as rigid and ugly as the religious right.

I’m done with all of them.

My vote is up for grabs. So far, McCain is winning.

I suggest to all the Obama/Marxist trolls on this site to do a little “real” investigation in Black Liberation Theology and its solid marriage with Marxism. You cannot be around that for 20 years and not accept its philosophy. To say you do not is expect us to believe you is an insult to us. So stop trying to defend your belove Marxist.

Black Liberation Theology coupled with Saul Alinksy (and you know that he was brought to Chicago to be an Alinsky style organizer) organizing tactics is what has led to his ability to get his supporters to fall for his “change” crap. Every politician says “change” but what type of “change” does he want?

Also, I suggest you research the Black Liberation Theology/Marxist/Islam connection. Also, what ties does Rezko still have to Syria? We know about Obama/Marxist connection to the PLO and his connections with so many anti-Israel pals.

I would like to see the FBI and CIA files on Obama/Marxist. I am sure the Repubs have and I for one cannot wait to see them.

I do not say these things as a bitter democrat (although I am going to leave the party) I am saying this as an American. I called the DNC for months a year ago asking when they would vet Obama/Marxist. I asked about Bill Ayers, the PLO Connection everything and they just told me to donate to them.

F*k You Obama/Marxist, Donna Brazile and Howard Dean and every other member and superdelegate who has done nothing to vet this person.

The New Democratic Party/New Black Panther Party is doomed. Why are we letting America be taken over from within starting with the democratic party?

Idiots.

Obama was raised in a very un-American lifestyle; with a liberal, athiest American white woman and a black Muslim foreigner, whom later abandoned them and then Obama’s mother married ANOTHER black mulsim foreigner while living in Indonesia/Kenya – wherever, and then Obama decides to go to live in Hawaii with his white, well-to-do grandmother – was she an athiest also?

The whole family unit thing – for the Obamas – seems to be a combination of drifters and unattached to each other(Obama and his mom fly/live all over the world – what was she looking for?); his mom apparently didn’t like or marry AMERICAN, WHITE CHRISTIAN men to the disapproval of her parents. Their OWN family had NO UNITY- they didn’t seem to ‘bond’, yet he thinks he can ‘unite’ the country by having ’studied’ under rev. Wright (hate America/hate whites and Jews, that white racist priest guy, Ayres the bomber and Rezko the crook for twenty years???

I think Obama is dangerous for America.

If Hillary is still not on the ballot in November, what good would it do to write her name on the ballot? None! I will be changing my affiliation on June 9th (when I get back into town) but remember, every vote you take away from McCain is a vote towards the abomination.

Look at it this way. One million votes for McCain puts Snobama one million votes down. McCain up one million votes and Snobama down one million votes is a TWO MILLION VOTE SPREAD.

Remember, Gore lost by only 537 votes so every single vote for McCain is going to count. How badly do you want Snobama to lose. Enough to vote for McCain?

IMHO the abomination is something I cannot and will not live with!

Over at Foxnews.com, they have the headline: “DNC to Forego Lobbyist, PAC Donations”

I’ve copied most of it below. Funny, they don’t mention that they won’t accept $ from convicted felons…

NEW YORK — With Barack Obama as their future nominee, the Democratic National Committee is adopting his policy of no longer accepting donations from federal lobbyists or political action committees.

The change will make the party and the candidate have a consistent position. Obama often says banning the donations is one way to help keep him free of the influence of Washington insiders.

An Obama spokesman announced the change Thursday as the candidate prepared to fly from New York, where he had been raising money, to campaign in Virginia.

Comment by gerard nedich | 2008-06-05 09:52:12

what they don’t mention is they already got all the cash they need from their “special” interests…

good grief…

this desperate ploy only shows they know we know how dirty they are…

to late guys, change is already on its way and you guys are going to jail or getting kicked out of office…

Now all our votes are going to count!
