Patrick Fitzgerald Issues Obama A Warning

I quote the following from an article entitled “Rezko scandal already casting shadow over presidential race” dated 4 JUNE 2008:

U.S. Attorney Patrick J. Fitzgerald said the verdict represented “an antidote to the poison of corruption” that trial testimony alleged included the fixing of state boards that controlled a $40 billion pension fund and made major decisions about million-dollar hospital construction.

He expressed hope it would have an effect on Illinois politicians.

“If morals don’t get to them, I hope the fear of going to jail does,” Fitzgerald told reporters.

This is your last chance, superdelegates.

Fitzmas seems to be coming every two years now. Hopefully we will get more presents than we did last Fitzmas.

I’ve been a good boy. Haven’t bribed or extorted anyone in a while.

Please PatrickClaus, I’d love an Obama indictment for Fitzmas this year.

Very funny Mawm. Especially this part:

Frankly I’d like to have Fitzmas in June or July this year.

But the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee is accused of no wrongdoing and his name was barely mentioned at trial.

Comment by ScottVA | 2008-06-04 22:31:16

Actually Obama’s name came up more then you think…. they tried to keep most of it under raps because FitzGerald is building a case now against Blagojevich and Obama going after Rezko first…. Apparently there is alot of FBI material on the two men from moles that following their doings for several months during the Rezko investigation… So we’ll see if any indictments fall now before August on Obama! I think they can nail him on money laundering/kickbacks and illegal campaign issues…

Comment by John W Mccant | 2008-06-04 22:38:30

I’m sure Larry will be debuting video of Obama and Blagojevich soon. Tomorrow by 9 a.m. in fact. LOL

Comment by Blue Intrigue | 2008-06-04 23:24:05

I hear there’s a video of Rezko handing Obama a bag of cash in the pulpit of the Trinity United Church, which is handed over immediately to Louis Farrakhan.

Thanks for posting the link to Pringle’s series, JGDAW. I hadn’t read it.

BO is just a dirty Chicago pol. I feel sorry for the AAs that have been duped by him as the first AA to run for president. If indeed the MSM get around to doing their job, as Pringle says, it’s going to be UGLY.

I hope Hillary stays clear of BO. I don’t want her slimed by him.
Dirty lying SOB.

Remember Rezko hated it in jail, wearing someone elses underwear?

Yet today he does not pass go and goes directly to jail!

The man who can bring down Illinois’s political scene including forgetful Obama!

The Hospital Board appointments was directly Obama’s doing in the State Senate

Now could be the guy who Obama only saw once or twice a year as he recalls, will have the opportunity to sit in a room for years with the guy!

Comment by wry | 2008-06-04 22:53:58

Mel,

Could you help me with the implications of why he went directly to jail?

Comment by Rob in Chicago | 2008-06-05 10:11:34

Th articles in the Chicago Tribune indicate that he had been out on bail, and that bail was not revoked. The judge hasn’t even sentenced him yet. He voluntarily surrendered, and he really hated jail (complained about having to wear underware won by others). Maybe he sees this as the only way he makes it to sentencing alive, but I would think that if he were willing to deal, the Feds would offer him more comfortable surroundings.

Comment by Uppity Woman | 2008-06-04 22:59:37

I wonder if I can have his palatial home while he’s gone. No sense of letting it just sit there. I could have parties. And invite Kahlidi and Said and Alsammarae. And 3z’s. and Auchi. Oh hell, might as well throw the whole Hamas bunch in there. And we can sit around and listen to Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn read their Declaration of State of War and stuff. Maybe watch their old home movies of the places they ……um…..displaced.

If Rezko is given the choice to flip, will Fitz go after Obama? There is probably a lot that Rezko could testify to a la Obama. I know Evelyn Pringle says that the mansion could be the thing that brings Obama down.

http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/HL0804/S00064.htm

Of all the illicit money Obama received out of the Chicago Combine, it makes me smile that the real estate deal for the mansion may be the real booby prize.

Comment by Mel | 2008-06-04 22:00:09

Nah, the house is small potatoes compared to Obama as a State Senator appointing Rezko’s picks to the Hospital Board.

The house will just be tax evasion over the money Obama never had for the $300 grand down payment Obama never had!

Both hold 20 yrs each in a new Obama home!

Comment by Thomas | 2008-06-04 21:56:07

Love the kicker in the AP story on Rezko verdict:

The jurors laughed and declined to comment when one reporter asked if they had realized how corrupt Illinois politics can be before the trial. They also said Blagojevich’s role in the case had no influence on them.

Nice drama in this story. This will give it legs and force the Anna Nicole networks to cover it. Check out this tawdry witness:

Rezko also was charged in the 24-count indictment with plotting with Levine to get a $1.5 million bribe from a contractor who sought state approval to build a hospital in the McHenry County suburb of Crystal Lake.

[snip]

Levine was a bizarre witness by any yardstick. He freely admitted to years of attending marathon drug parties in a suburban hotel with male companions and taking large doses of cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, kaetamine, and other drugs, frequently washed down with shots of vodka.

Jurors who met briefly with reporters following the verdict said that they realized Levine was not the most reliable witness.

“He played with us in the courtroom also,” said Andrea Coleman.

Is that common, with the IL combine?

Even Patrick Fitzgerald didn’t get Scooter Libby to jail. Lying is okay. Perjury is okay. Bribery is okay. Extortion is okay. As long as you have friends in high enough places.

Maybe we disenfranchised and discarded voters could form a third party and get Patrick Fitzgerald to run as the Presidential candidate next election. No wheeling and dealing…just a candidate by popular acclamation…somebody with no favors to repay. What a refreshing idea.

Comment by claribel borden | 2008-06-04 22:09:11

Fitz got scooter, keep pretending you can handle this thing, really.

It’s not like you can understand strategy, anyway.

Catch on yet, “troll,” people think you’re stupid?

Comment by Isolde | 2008-06-04 22:42:24

Rezko does not have a a president to commute his sentence yet. Scooter was convicted also. Fitz will proceed like in any other mob or terrorist case. Convict the first and most vulnerable fish, explain that he will serve a zillion years in a prison in Texas or Alabama and not in Illinois, and ask him if there is anything he would like to tell him before he sees the judge next. With Rezko convicted they will fall like dominoes. If Obama was part of the plan in the state legislature it will not take long to get to that level. The ultimate target was the governor.

“I’m saddened by today’s verdict. This isn’t the Tony Rezko I knew, but now he has been convicted by a jury on multiple charges that once again shine a spotlight on the need for reform. I encourage the General Assembly to take whatever steps are necessary to prevent these kinds of abuses in the future.”

David Corse, don’t blame the electorate.

We’ve had Obama foisted on us by a very corrupt (but according to Bobby Jr. only 75% corrupt as opposed to the Republican 95% corrupt) Democratic establishment, and by the 100% corporate so-called Liberal media.

But it’s far from over. Far, far from over.

Depends on how much talking Rezko does and who in the picking order Fitzgerald wants to pick off first!

For Rezko to cut a deal, since being charged now, he can appeal the each charge and depending on Fitzgeralds mood, the Fitzgerald can not oppose Rezko’s appeals to some of the charges, so Rezko can end up with only a minor charge and jail based on what he and who he gives up.

Apeeals and challenges have to be filed in 30 days if memory is correct!

CHICAGO COLUMNIST ANDY MARTIN ANNOUNCES A NEW BOOK: OBAMA: THE MAN BEHIND THE MASK

(CHICAGO)(June 4, 2008) Legendary Chicago Internet columnist and muckraker Andy Martin will hold a news conference Wednesday, June 4th to announce that his new book on Senator Barack Obama is on sale.

“On Obama’s first day as a presumptive presidential candidate, he has my new book to contend with and confront,” Martin will state. “It’s a modern form of The Psychoed. ‘As Obama is going up the stair, he sees a man he pretends is not there. He isn’t there again today. I wish, I wish he’d go away.’

“Obama probably wishes I would go away. Obviously I am not going away. Not after four years of blowing the whistle on Barry O.”

Martin was the nation’s first Obama expert and critic.

Andy has dogged Obama with relentless investigation and commentary since 2004.

Martin’s new book goes on sale immediately for advance orders, and goes to the printer in days. Publication is scheduled for June.

“Now that Obama has claimed the nomination and anointed himself the man on horseback, I think the public is going to want to learn a lot more about the good senator. We are reprinting columns, from the first 2004 comments disclosing that Obama had been a Muslim, right down through to the latest developments in the presidential crap shoot. We are taking four years of analysis and investigation and putting the material in logical order. And, of course, there will be new first-time commentary and analysis.

“Republicans will love it. Independents should be curious. Even Obama supporters may find my distinctive viewpoint interesting. Besides, a lot of his rich, elitist supporters can afford to pay twenty bucks plus shipping and handling to read about Obama. It will also be a secret pleasure for the media. Media types should call it ‘How Andy Martin beat the mainstream media on the biggest story of the new millennium.’

“The book will also serve as our platform for further investigation and commentary right through election day. My volume is a work of advocacy as well as a work of analysis.

“I hope we sell a million copies,” Martin says. “Everyone should read this book. Then no one would vote for Obama. The book is naughty. It’s cheeky. And it’s all true. One hundred proof Andy Martin on Barack Obama. Perfect together.”

Details on the book can be found at http://www.OrangeStatePress.com. Advance orders from Orange State Press. Available everywhere in days. Because of the expected heavy demand, advance orders will be filled by date of order.

In this era of political obfuscation just how much corruption will it take to bring a politician down? The Bush administration set a very high bar for getting rid of deceit and dishonesty; assisted by a media that looked the other way and now goes to even greater heights to protect Obama from his own bad choices.

Rezko’s criminal conviction is connected to Obama in ways we haven’t even uncovered yet because our media consists of pundits instead of journalists. Too little too late to save our country from another Bush in Democratic attire.

GWB put our democracy on life support and now Obama has killed it with a Florida Fiasco repeat of 2000 and in spite of almost 18 MILLION citizens saying NO we’ve been ignored again.

Obama trolls can start apologizing immediately. But we won’t accept.

Wait…why should a Democrat apologize for wanting the truth told about the presumptive nominee – no matter who that person is?

And would asking for the truth make someone a “troll”? Where am I? Bush Bizarro World, where everything is backwards?

I admire Hillary Clinton. But it’s over. And the wild hyperbole about the unseen tape of Michelle Obama is the worst one, by far.

Does Obama mean the Rezko today that got convicted is different from the one he was meeting at night at Tony Rezko’s home (along with Illinois Gov. B) under surveillance of an FBI mole as reported in the London Times?

Comment by ScottVA | 2008-06-05 00:58:16

That FBI mole testified at the trial and said on numerous occasions he witnessed Obama and Blago going to Rezko’s Rezmar Corp office… funny how Obama remembers it it was once….ah maybe twice a year! BUT WAIT…..now what year was it again? LOL

Comment by Annie Oakley | 2008-06-05 09:01:26

Did anyone ever ask MEchelle if she knows Rezko? Her job at U of C hospital had her doing outreach with Woodlawn. Now we know how Rezko defines “outreach.” For him it means reaching out to steal from the bitter people who pay taxes. We owe, you know.

Comment by Susan1968 | 2008-06-04 22:39:48

Obama should be nervous. The arrest and trial of Rezko and Company were just the first of what Patrick Fitzgerald calls: Operation Board Game Investigations

This is not the end of indictments. But what I find really amusing is Rezko’s lawyer’s closing statement at the trial:

“In his closing argument, Rezko’s attorney, Joe Duffy, told the jury: “The evidence shows Rezko spent more time in 2003-2004 fundraising for St Jude’s Children’s Hospital, George W Bush and Barack Obama, then he did for Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich.”

During his opening statement in the trial, Duffy also pointed out that Rezko had raised money for many politicians and specifically named Obama.”

Also:

“The fact is, in addition to being his real estate fairy for the $2 million mansion, Rezko is Obama’s political Godfather. His career in politics was launched on July 31, 1995, with contributions of $2,000 from Rezko for the Illinois senate campaign. Obama only raised about $100,000 for that race, with roughly $15,000 coming from Rezko.

After Rezko was indicted in October 2006, Obama claimed Rezko only raised $50,000 or $60,000 over his political career.

This is the story he gave in the media for more than a year. But the total amount revealed during interviews with the Chicago Sun-Times and Tribune on March 14, 2008, added up to a quarter million.

Several of the people who led Obama’s corrupt finance committee for the US senate race with Rezko, and collected all the contributions from the people involved in the pay-to-pay schemes, are now running the show for his presidential campaign….

Obama’s downfall will be what he claims was a “boneheaded” mistake in entering into real estate deal with Rezko in June 2005, less than a month after Rezko received a $3.5 million loan from the Iraqi-born billionaire, Nadhmi Auchi, who ended up with Riverside Park, a $2.5 billion 62-acre development project in Chicago.”

Are you all Hillary supporters attacking Obama over this? I mean, I am totally against corruption in politics, and if it comes out that Obama did something as bad as the worst that you all allege, I will be disgusted.

But Bill and Hillary have the stink of corruption on them WAY worse than any of this, at least with the real facts that we know at this point (I’m not talking the kind of ‘facts’ that spread unsubstantiated rumors about Michelle Obama ‘whitey’ tapes, either, I’m talking about supported facts that don’t add up). I mean, you can claim that there is a chance that the corruption was AROUND them, not actually them, for much of the white water land deals and S&L loan scandals, or what not – very unlikely, but possible. But when you start looking at things like making 100xs earnings in the future market in a year… there is NO WAY. You can’t prove anything in court, but there is no other logical explanation. Furthermore, lets add on the pardons leading to donations in Hillary’s senate campaign at the end of Bill’s presidency – maybe not illegal, but certainly very corrupt.

Sorry, but if you are coming down this hard on Obama at this point for these alleged connections and still support Hillary, it’s obvious that you are either a hypocrite or ignorant.

Slam Dunk – Game – Set – Match – bye bye

It is simple Matt, no other candidate rode in on a white horse claiming to be the champion of perfection and to change the corruption in Washington!

Umm to quote Michelle Obama, If you can’t even keep your own house in order, how can you keep the White House in order?

Poof…..fairy tale ends, drugs wearing off, Obama is a fraud and he never championed anything but deception and division for self gain!

Comment by matt | 2008-06-04 23:04:54

Okay, fair enough… he champions removing corruption, so if it comes out that he has been corrupt, maybe it’s extra bad. But to me still a little silly to think that Hillary is better just because she doesn’t champion against corruption, even if she still has some ugly skeletons in her closet. Not enough for me to get as riled up as you all do over this.

And on your Michelle quote – I agree, the ‘house clean’ comments of hers were over the line.

Gasp – I just conceded a point on a blog thread. People never concede on blog threads… I think a wormhole is going to open up or something. I guess just further proof that I probably don’t fit in on these things.

OK, so Hillary made some money in Futures trading which she claims to have been the result of good mentoring, and not inside information. So many millions were spent looking into the Clintons’ sniffing their underware drawers and the like, but the best they could do was a set-up perjury trap for a blow job ? The money that Hillary made in futures trading did not come from taxpayers funds, and she was not representing a poor district in Chicago on housing issues while helping a slumlord take government funds while leaving the residents to freeze in the Chicago winters. The money that Hillary made in futures trading was not a pay-off for an ear mark for the hospital where her spouse worked. The money that Hillary made from trading futures was not for appointing Rezko’s “guys” to government boards so that they could extort funds and rip off the taxpayers.

But a couple years ago I was curious to get to the bottom, so I spent a lot of time reading up on things on the internet. I had to weed through a lot of nutty Vince Foster murder and Bill Clinton coke ring BS. When I came down to the facts, it would seem obvious to everyone that there were some shady dealings there. Not enough evidence to be worth bringing to trial or impeachment, but obviously not on the up-and-up. Do the research for yourself. There is no vicious slander there, you simply are confused with innocence versus enough evidence to bring to trial.

Meh… but I’m the idiot here, trying to have a reasoned discussion of facts on an anti-intellectual blog thread.

matt get a clue! The white water crap you are talking about had a very shallow base connecting it to the Clinton’s. The repug smear machine spent hundreds of millions investigating it. They found out the Clinton’s LOST money on that deal, and a stained dress. As far as Clinton making a bundle in the futures market…I don’t think they were alone there were they? Seems a lot of people did rather well there. Republicans even offered immunity and to let convicted felons keep their ill gotten gains if they would testify against the Clinton’s and they were told…sorry that would be a lie!

Today has truly been a fun day! The Myth of Obama is beginning to crumble. Rezko convicted and asks to go directly to jail over 3 months before he needed to. The RNC starts releasing video’s connecting Rezko with Obama. The wall street journal releases an article as they start investigating Obama even admitting they had been giving him a pass! All the Obamaton rags like HuffPo C&L and politico are desperately trying to bury anything about Rezko…its HILLARYous!!

Comment by matt | 2008-06-04 23:16:40

Uggg… I tried to reply to DeniseB above but something is buggy…

Anyways, no I have a clue. I understand that there wasn’t enough evidence to bring anything to trial, and I always thought the republicans pushed way harder than they should have, especially given some of the Bush and Reagan scandals that were allowed to slide. It’s easy to dismiss everything as being ‘clueless’ with all the nutty Clinton cocaine ring and Vince Foster murder crap there is out there, but a lot of the other stuff looks pretty bad.

I have not done the research on Obama that I did on whitewater a couple years ago for personal curiosity. At this point in time I’m more inclined to believe that it is nutty ‘Vince Foster’ type stuff, but we will see. I’m in particular inclined to think that when the source is the same one that is putting out unsubstantiated rumors about the Michelle ‘whitey’ tapes.

You’re trolling and ignorant as to the politics involved. Darling Teddy Kennedy lost the General Election for Dems when with practically nothing even close to Hillary’s numbers, he took his grief to the convention and backroomed like hell and was as ugly as possible. This divided the party and was major reason Dems lost that election.

Asking for a first round vote for the loser is all past ususal political history. Go to Google and find out about conventions in Dem party and the history thereof. Obamatons feel he should have no opponents, and that politics were made to suit him in ways too absurd to contemplate. Your ignorance of how and who have taken themselves to convention floors and floor fights is more than naive.

Hillary gets attacked by Obama trolls even when she will fully support him, but you’re still at it. You are part of the group who will hurt Obama the most and keep alienated female Hillary supporters away from him. Instead of understanding the dynamic of politics and the monumental significance for both of these candidates, you are still picking scabs with HRC.

Is “Truthteller” a Republican Troll? Or is it Susan Hu?
The title that Fitzgerald issues a warning to Obama, is a malicious misrepresentation, and would only work with biased individuals on this pathetic blog.

The article quoted as reference clearly spelled out

But the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee is accused of no wrongdoing and his name was barely mentioned at trial.

What part of it don’t you understand? If this were a Democratic blog site you would report the truth that Rezko was guilty of corruption but the presumptive Democratic nominee was accused of no wrongdoing.

What is your problem ?

Comment by Truthteller | 2008-06-04 23:35:35

Neither Blagojevich nor Obama were accused of anything in a trial that focused on REZKO. But both were mentioned in the indictments, and Obama purchased a home with Rezko. We also know Obama received large donations that were generated by Rezko’s scheme to defraud the Illinois State Teachers’ Pension Fund. Learn the Rezko case and read a few articles on Obama’s ties to the convicted slumlord and political fixer. I understand as a mindless machine Democrat you necessarily have to disavow all that we know about Obama, but those of us who desire integrity in government will continue to discuss Obama’s poor judgment and ties to Antoin Tony Rezko.

DEAL WITH IT. I am more Left than you will ever be, and I will not vote for Obama. And I will continue to voice my informed opinions.

The last chapter —

http://www.opednews.com/articles/genera_evelyn_p_080522_final_chapter___curt.htm

of Evelyn Pringle’s multi part series Final Chapter – Curtain Time for Barack Obama

details the “Pay to Play” which OBAMA helped to push through the legislature.

snObama is very very dirty — right up there with his buddy Rezko.

So Trolls — dance and come here and be your usual ass holes — however, your guy is a criminal waiting for the Jury to find him guilty. He’s at the very top of the Pay to Play food chain — so who will he roll over on to stay out of jail?

Here’s how OBAMA is playing with the crooks and he IS part of the machine:

Tony Rezko is a private citizen. Therefore, the evidence presented in the trial focused on his influence over officials in getting members appointed to the Boards. Prosecutors did not discuss how the legislation got passed that enabled the Planning Board to be set up in a way that allowed for the appointment of members to rig the votes to begin with.

That part of the scheme will likely be detailed in future indictments, probably starting with Blagojevich. Blagojevich signed the Illinois Health Facilities Planning Act with an effective date of June 27, 2003. However, before he could sign the act, a bill had to be passed by the Illinois House and Senate. As discussed fully in Curtain Time Part II, Obama was the inside guy in the senate who pushed through the legislation that resulted in the Act.
Obama was appointed chairman of the Senate Health and Human Services Committee. The minute the bill was introduced, it was referred to his committee for review. The sponsors of the bill also served on this committee with Obama. Within a month, Chairman Obama sent word to the full senate that the legislation should be passed.

On May 31, 2003, Senate Bill 1332 passed and specified that the “Board shall be appointed by the Governor, with the advice and consent of the Senate.” The legislation reduced the number of members from 15 to 9, paving the way for the appointment of a five-bloc majority to rig the votes.

The corrupt members appointed included three doctors who contributed to Obama. Michel Malek gave Obama $10,000 on June 30, 2003 and donated $25,000 to Blagojevich on July 25, 2003. Malek also gave Obama another $500 in September 2003.

Interestingly the DEMOCRATS turn out to be even more crooked then the Republicans. The Republican Governor went to jail and it took him 40 years to get his millions of pay to play — it took the DEMOCRATIC Governor just a few years to make that much money.

So where did all of snObama’s money come from — he learned all the tricks from the Chicago machine — and he probably invented some of his own. We shall find out when snObama goes to trial.

One can easily find a mile-long list of close Clinton friends and associates who have had felony convictions. This took me about 5 seconds to find via Google. This proves precisely nothing about the Clintons, other than the fact that there are lots of criminal types around, and that if you’re involved in business or politics you’re going to bump into them. It doesn’t mean that you yourself are dirty.

So, Obama had dealings with Rezko? There’s a list of 1–with nothing proven about Obama, and–to my knowlege–nothing specific even credibly alleged.

It’s best to just leave stuff like that alone unless you’ve got hard evidence. You just provoke someone else to fire back with a barrage of their own garbage, and they may have a helluva lot more available ammunition.

The republican muck slingers are going to target both Clinton and Obama with as much of this stuff as they can dredge up or make up. They’ll raise a stink of lies and unfounded allegations, then comment endlessly in public places on the stink as obvious evidence that there must be something rotten behind it.

Don’t do their work for them.

There is much hard evidence of Sweetheart real estate deal that Rezko pd %665,000 for backyard land and that Obama od Rita Rezko $104,500 for this property. Both closed on same day and Obama himself has said it was “boneheaded”. It’s a known fact that
Rezko was a large fundraiser for BO during a 10yr association, and Rezko trashed and bankrupted 11 buildings obtained with public rehab money. These buildings were in Obama’s district in South Ward, and he never made a peep. Rezko in all trashed 33 buildings that represented thousands of the poorest in AA community. This is part of the public record. Go to http://www.suntimes.com

Yes, this is politics, but Obama will have to take responsibility as this and more provably occurred, and he should release his buried voting records while in Ill state senate for 7 yrs. It’s missing and BO says he never kept these records. Where are they?

I’ll happily campaign for McCain if Hillary is not nominated. But there is no nominee until August 25. That gives us plenty of time to do more research and watch as more skeletons pop out of the closet. I hope you have lots of time to troll here, you will need it.

Comment by Incredulous | 2008-06-05 00:27:06

Have at it. Just remember that basically all you’re doing is keeping yourselves and already-like-minded people angry and entertained, while diminishing your credibility in the eyes of anyone else who happens along.

Meanwhile all substantive issues go unexamined, and you’ll wind up voting for the indefinite continuation of a $341.1 million per day war that’s already cost $524 BILLION, more graves in cemeteries all across the nation, and a crack-brained health insurance scheme that will eliminate employer-provided health insurance for American workers. (You do understand what McCain is actually proposing to do there, right?) While you’re at it, you’ll be turning the Supreme Court over to the neo-cons. (You do understand what that would mean, right?)

All because you loath Barack Obama, because… Well, I really don’t know why. He’s saying what needs to be said, and other people are listening very carefully, ignoring the mounting efforts to destroy his character before he even gets out of the box. The impetus behind that, I suppose, is simple: It’s fear. Running for McCain is like running for the devil you know because somebody’s told you the new kid on the block is an even worse devil.

Sorry for my anger. It’s just that I’ve seen this game played out too many times during the course of over half-a-century, and seen how well it sometimes works. Most recently it has been used to put George W. Bush in the White House–twice. Just before that it was used to crippled the last term of William Jefferson Clinton–rightly viewed by many as one of our great presidents–and to try to destroy Hillary.

Meantime Bush sits in the White House with that evil poison toad Cheney at his side, smirking and content in the certainty of his righteousness, and in the growing likelihood of the election of his designated heir apparent.

It ought to be enough to make anyone mad.

So Tony Rezko immediately surrenders, hum sounds like a deal is being cut as we speak. Why else would he surrender into custody? He fears for his life or he wants the clock to start ticking? SO we have to assume it is the second and that by making a deal (the best deal he can make) he walks early. So here’s the problem if you are Rezko doesn’t matter if Obama is guilty, he is the biggest guy you can finger (lie or not) Then you walk. So probably will be hearing more about this…

This crap is exactly why Hillary needs to hang on to her delegates. I hope everyone is urging her to simply suspend, rather than give up those delegates. Obama and his minions do not deserve the delegates WE gave Hillary. It ain’t over til the convetion, technically. Neither candidate has enough delegates without the Superdelegates, who are free to change their mind at any time (especially in light of various compelling developments that may pop up.)

Oh.. and I have to laugh at the idea that the Obama’s fancy mansion sits directly next door to a felon’s house. Perhaps the Obama’s should have bought a place in that swanky gated community Rev. Wright is living in now… Obama should choose his neighbors better. lol.

yup she is doing herself and us a favor by hanging onto her delegates. i shudder to think just exactly what the dnc would do if obama had to depart from the nomination. turn to her? naw not unless they had to do so. so who would they nominate? someone like kerry or daschle who are already proven losers probably.

Really, don’t you get it? They guy is tainted by his friends, whom he never renounces. He’s got such a long line of them, I guess he doesn’t know where to start.
And they’re either crooks or crazy.

See. So two hours ago. Try to keep upl.

If the situation was reversed and Hillary ended up with a slim majority of delegates (and lost the popular vote by over 300,000) and her long-time campaign contributor and mentor gets a GUILTY sentence, the likes of McCASKILL, KERRY and the rest of them will demand her withdrawal citing lack of moral ascendancy, etc. But since it’s Obama, to hell with ethical principles and scruples. That’s why the Democratic Party deserves to be deserted by millions of HRC supporters. Clinton or McCain.

Thanks for the links to the curtain time article.

Rev Wright appeared at an NAACP conference hosted by Rev Wendell Anthony, a big Kwame Kilpatrick (indicted Mayor of Detroit) supporter. Anyone who hasn’t had their fill of reading about corrupt politicians may want to check out news reports out of Michigan/Detroit.

The joke about Detroit is that they would elect the Mayor of Detroit again even after all this corruption is exposed. To read the affiliations of Obama with these folks is just horrifying because it means even America is likely to vote in a President with all alleged ties. Scary stuff.

The Obama generation is too wet behind the ears to get the picture. Listening to his supporters at his campaign speeches reminds me of old video of the Jonestown cults or the Manson girls.

Thanks for keeping us informed, Larry. Too bad the rest of the media hasn’t done the same.

Who is them? The ignoring Media?
The blind superdelegates?
The out of touch DNC leadership?
Or are you talking Republicans?

Trust me when I tell you that if something is in print, the Republicans already know if and have ten volumes more even worse. I will help them ANY WAY I CAN to wise up the media, the superdelegates and “leadership” that they are NEVER going to select a candidate for the presidency AGAINST the will of voters and disenfranchise two states to do it ever again!

No Hillary? Vote McCain 2008.

Comment by Incredulous | 2008-06-05 13:59:42

So, list for me all the good things that result from John McCain’s election in November. (Don’t bother listing “He’s not Obama; I’ve already figured that one out.)

Explain to me which of the bad trends John McCain is going to stop, and how he says he’s going to do it. (Or convince me that the war is justified and going well and not just enriching powerful corporations; that the economy is in good order; that the republican party is not the tool of wealth and power, with little or no regard for the rest of us; that public education is doing great; that our infrastructure isn’t falling apart; that taxes and policies favor the rich; that a working person has fair access good medical care, etc etc.)

Tell me the many benefits of John McCain chosing who will the life-time-appointed Supreme Court seats that will become vacant during the next 4 years.

Then, for extra bonus points, list each important issue on which the position of Barack Obama differs from the position of Hillary Clinton.

That’s what a person needs think on when deciding how to vote. All else is trivial. One must disregard all efforts to cloud one’s judgement by way of media spin, scandal mongering, fear mongering, and character assassination. Otherwise you let yourself become a puppet, manipulated by either the right or the left.

Comment by ulahane | 2008-06-05 14:24:21

All would take far too long.

1. Environment. McCain supports a cap and trade system to lower greenhouse emissions.

2. He will close Guantanamo bay and end waterboarding.

3. He will, as Bill Clinton did, work to balance the budget. Very different from the “deficits don’t matter” philosophy of the last few years.

4. His election might prevent our party from running another vapid “latte-left” candidate next time. (no more Dukakis, Kerrys, or Obamas).

McCain will not be able to choose any Supreme Court justices without the approval of the Democrat controlled Senate.

Clinton V. Obama. Who decides what’s an important issue?

But how about partial-birth abortion: Clinton against it – Obama for it.

I know you are sick of hearing it but preconditions for meeting terrorist supporters is an important issue.

Health care: Single Payer vs Obama’s doomed to failure mess.

Essentially they are different on the details of about every issue and details matter.

Lastly, I could not disagree more with your last paragraph. A president’s character and values do matter. If you do not feel that a president has any respect for you, your needs, and your values then you would be a moron to vote for them. I do not feel that Obama has anything but contempt for me, my needs, or my values.

Comment by Incredulous | 2008-06-05 14:55:36

We’ve got some obvious areas of disagreement–our differing estimations of Obama’s character, in particular–but I appreciate the thoughtful response.

If McCain is elected, I hope I turn out to be wrong in some of my current thinking.

Brief Review of “Obama: The Man Behind The Mask”

I was privilaged to review Obama: The Man Behind The Mask by Andy Martin, who “generally recognized as the founding father of the anti-Obama research and commentary movement on the Internet. You may also remember that Andy urged Hillary to TAKE IT TO THE CONVENTION! She did not heed his advice.

While the Chicago Sun-Times and the Chicago Tribune were asleep at the wheel, Andy Martin was letting the world know “Who Barry O is,” but “just the facts” as Detective Friday says. Andy tells you why until Lynn SWEET caught Obama’s scent that “Tony’s guy” got a pass for all his “Chicago ways.”

What does Andy know about “Chicago ways? “He began by exposing corruption in state government while still a law student at the University of Illinois over forty years ago. While still a student he also helped pursue and expose scandal at the Illinois Supreme Court. His investigations of crooked Cook County (Chicago) judges helped trigger federal prosecutions and sent guilty judges to jail.”

What this book is “is not a biography. Obama’s anti-biography, his fictionalized ‘Dreams’ from his ‘Father,’ served as a launching pad for [his] own investigations and commentary. But [Andy] felt readers needed a collection of commentary, a pathway through the past few years, an insight and understanding of how the Obama phenomenon had evolved, what his campaign team had concealed and sometimes begrudgingly admitted, and an occasional prediction of where all of this activity would lead.”

If you have followed Andy for the last four years there are no surprises for you in this book but it is still useful as a resource for when those suffering from OBAMAMANIA need a dose of reality. It also puts all his research in one source as opposed to having to do a search each time you need to “check your facts.”

Andy was one of the first to deal with the issue of “Is OBAMA a radical Muslim?” If you do not know the answer then perhaps you do not know the facts. Personally I am more concerned with his church for the last 20 years.

You may want to know that neither of the Obamas has a valid license to practice law. How could that happen to such “great lawyers” as they claim to have been? Did they really reject “high saleried” positions and positions offered by those they knew – cronyism? These are just some of the questions Andy answers.
