The Michelle Obama Rant Tape was filmed between June 26th - July 1st 2004 in Chicago, IL at the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition Conference at Trinity United Church: specifically the Women’s Event.
Michelle Obama appeared as a panelist alongside Mrs. Khadijah Farrakhan and Mrs. James Meeks.
Bill Clinton spoke during the Conference, as did Bill Cosby and other speakers, but not at the panel Michelle attended.
Michelle Obama spoke at the Women’s Event, but referenced Bill Clinton in her rant — his presence at the conference was the impetus for her raving, it seems.
For about 30 minutes, Michelle Obama launched into a rant about the evils of America, and how America is to blame for the problems of Africa. Michelle personally blamed President Clinton for the deaths of millions of Africans and said America is responsible for the genocide of the Tutsis and other ethnic groups. She then launched into an attack on “whitey”, and talked about solutions to black on black crime in the realm of diverting those actions onto white America. Her rant was fueled by the crowd: they reacted strongly to what she said, so she got more passionate and enraged, and that’s when she completely loses it and says things that have made the mouths drop of everyone who’s seen this. …

I do not accept any of the MIchigan delegates given to Obama as legitimate. I don’t even think they’re legal. If some one’s name is NOT on a ballot, folks voted for uncommited, the delegates should be considered unpledged. How can you just give him imaginary, rhetorical, hypothetical votes. How can the state of Michigan certify results and then the DNC just extrapolate votes for a candidate that wasn’t part of the process?
Yes, now we know exactly why the DNC went to such lengths to illegally give Gutter Ball those delegates. They are the ones that supposedly put him over the top.
We also know why they never would even listen to those who wanted full voting rights for those delegates. He wouldn’t have been able to declare victory tonight because he would have needed over 2200.
He is not the legitimate nominee, folks. He has a big fat asterisk on his back. He is now the Barry Bonds of politics. Hope he’s proud.
Talk about unfair. First of all, fair was for the Rules Committe to allow the votes to be counted in the first place, when the rules dictated that 100% of them would not be counted because the rules were broken by Florida and Michigan. Each candidate, INCLUDING HILLARY CLINTON, knew that 100% of the votes in these states would not be counted and accepted that fact. When Hillary knew that she was losing to Obama, it was then and only then, many many months later that she decided to “fight for those votes to be counted”. So please let us get that straight right now. I know that you are a strong Hillary Clinton supporter as I am a strong Obama supporter, but she has known for a long while that the votes in those states would not be counted and she did not fight back then when she knew that they would not be counted, but only when she knew she was losing to Obama, she started the rhetoric and the “fight for those states votes to be counted”. As a strong Hillary supporter maybe you can answer some questions for me. If the Rules committe said that no votes would be counted because rules were broken by these states and reversed that decision and said that 50% were to be counted, isn’t that a compromise, fair? Also, if the shoe was on the other foot and Hillary’s name did not appear on the ballot in Michigan, would it be fair to award Obama all the votes and none to Hillary? With that said, Let’s not forget, there were 30 million write in votes in Michigan that were tossed aside and not even counted. Also consider the fact that many very busy people with their busy lives did not attend because they felt no need to take off work, leave school early or leave home because they knew their votes would not be counted anyway. With that said, and not knowing how those people would have chosen to vote, Isn’t it true that the contest in Michigan was not a fair one to begin with because Obama’s name was not even on the ballot? Talk about unfair. How can you say Hillary’s wins all of those votes when Obama’s name was not even on the ballot? That is ridiculous and that is what is unfair! Some would even argue that everyone was told, (which disenfranchised the voters, however, were rules agreed upon by Clinton and Obama) that the votes would not be counted as punishment for breaking the rules and in the end they were counted. In real fairness to Clinton and Obama,none of the votes should have been counted, or they should have been split 50/50!

Because the DNC’s actions are illegal, why can’t the Hillary campaign file suit and stop the process until a judge can decide on its
legality? Why didn’t the DNC look into the bogus caucus results, especially in Texas?

Congessional hearings on 2000, Florida. Not!

First, it was Michelle Obama speaking from the pulpit at TU; then it was Michelle and Louis Farrakan together at Trinity United; then it was Michelle appearing on a panel with Farrakan’s wife.
First, it was a tape controlled by Karl Rove; now it’s a DVD that apparently anybody can buy from TU’s website, even though TU had nothing to do with the Rainbow/PUSH conference.
Oh, and for good measure let’s smear an 82 year old civil rights activist in the process and play a guilt-by-association game by showing a pic of Michelle with Mrs. Farrakan that also happens to include a black female POW. Anybody who still believes this tape exists needs a course in remedial logic.

This morning CNN was breathless in their excitement for Obama. By noon, they had some elderly black gentleman whose name I missed, and he was saying that Obama has been anointed by God to be president. Dear Lord, they’ll have him canonized by next month. If there is going to be a blowback in the MSM against Obama, it will have to be loud and long to break through the shoddy reporting on CNN and MSNBC.
I have yet to see an updated list of names of supers who have endorsed Obama. The MSM is going on Obama’s say so. The truth about Obama will have to break through a mountain of cheerleading.
This should be scary to you. Someone unknown being refered to as the “savoir” of the world. These people have entered into fanatism. Something that is totally against the essense of the constitution. If I remember correctly, we fought independence from such kings whose followers would declare themselves kings on the premise that they were annoited by god himself.

Hillbuzz appears to be backing off the story. Latest post shows when he thinks MO might have spoken at a conference. He hasn’t seen the tape and doesn’t know if it even exists. So his post of this morning was just inventing content…?

The story has basically been like this…NoQuarters posts something then HillBuzz posts something referencing the NoQuarters post and then NoQuarters posts something referencing the HillBuzz post. It is becoming a huge circular reference with no “facts” or “evidence”. All you have are two bloggers carrying a rumor for something that should be easy to find out. It was a massive public event that had a former President there. There has to be some recording of it at some media outlet in Chicago.
I understand that people here either support Hillary or dislike Obama but at some point don’t you think it is more productive to spend time reporting on stuff that will actually help your cause instead of chasing your tails looking for boogiemen that don’t exist??

Deval Patrick, as I understand it, does not have one of those for Obama to copy; and whether he delivers it in August or in November, it is something Obama will be reading from his trusty teleprompter.
I understand that you don’t approve of Obama’s speeches or imply that he uses other people’s words all of the time, however, I do not mean to insult your intelligence but if you have paid close attention and really listened to all of the speeches that each candidate for president has given, you would know that they have borrowed words, in one way or another, from time to time. This is evident in many of Clinton’s speeches and poor bumbling McCain, I will just leave that one alone. My point is, you cannot take away the fact that Barack is a very intelligent man (oops, maybe you are more intelligent than Barack, but before answering that I think you better check out Barack’s education, CV and books before providing us with your educational/intelectual information) with the ability to compose and assist in composing his own speeches and the ability to deliver them effortlessly as well, unlike the other candidates. If you don’t believe me, ask the over seventeen thousand inside the arena and fifteen thousand who watched him on screen outside of the arena the night he won the nomination, representing a total of at least thrity-two thousand people that came out to listen to him, not to mention the record breaking crowds of thousands that have come out to hear him earlier this year. Oh, I beg your pardon, and how many thousands have consistently, time and time again came out to hear your candidate for president? Obviously not nearly as much as Barack’s “record breaking crowds”. After eight years it is about time that we have an intelligent president in the United States. I can get used to saying President Barack Obama. I think you better get ready to saying it too.

Why keep “reporting” on something everyday that you can’t verify? If there is a tape I am as interested as the next guy to see it, but I can’t help but wonder why with all these people looking for “dirt” on the Obamas nobody can find a copy of a public meeting that was held less than 4 year ago. I don’t think TT’s too stupid to understand that. It seems to me like he’s bringing up a valid point - Larry has the onus as a “reporter” of sorts to report on things, whether about Hillary, Obama, McCain, whoever. As of now, the posts about the tape will all be great facts if proven true, but, as TT points out, there is simply no evidence yet. So far this is all just a magnified rumor that adds a few more details everyday to the delight of people who call Obama things like “El Turdo” and “Gutter Ball”. Without the evidence, without sources or references, this just becomes an Obama hate fest and not an objective assessment of the facts.
As TT points out, there are lots of other issues you can spend your time on if you dislike Obama or reasons to dislike him that are all rooted in fact. The tape might be real, but until then, this is just a circle jerk for people who hate Obama.

Democratic strategist, an obamabot, Bob Beckell on Fox yesterday said he believes it is out there and it will give the nomination to Hillary also that it will be brought soon, I for one hope so, if they wait till after the convention there will be no recourse.

I hope everyone is feeling a bit better today. I am not overly emotional, but I had a good cry yesterday. Today I feel a bit more like that great bumper sticker, “I’m living Plan C.” *haha
I think we’ll all relax now. Hillary is right to insist we all have some time to calm down. As usual, the Dean and Pelosi et al are boorish to insist that it be wrapped up immediately. Why are they so afraid? He’s the presumptive nominee now. So get on with it, Obama. What Hillary needs to do now is really not his business.
I didn’t watch his speech. I figured I’d catch it today on file. I tried watching the TV, but the hosts thought we were interested in seeing them yap rather than hear the speeeches. I’m amazed by the stupidity of program directors these days. I waited for over an hour to see the speeches, and I had to turn the TV off and go on-line to do so. Amazing, huh?
I loved Hillary’s speech, particularly about how we aren’t invisible, and she’ll make sure of it. I believe her firmly on that point. This campaign really did change her, I believe. I think it brought her back to her real roots in politics, which are the regular joes and marys of the world who work hard and aren’t pretentious but have good solid morals and principles. It was such a heartfelt speech.
I feel badly for Obama and Michelle. I don’t doubt this rant of hers is real. I think about that anger and that perspective of blaming others and scapegoating people who do real work in the world, such as Bill Clinton, and I feel badly that jealousy and envy have ruined these two younger people. They do not respect others. They do not respect themselves, ultimately. They have not yet earned the self-esteem that comes from really accomplishing something that benefits others in life.
This campaign has been truly historical, but I think what I take away isn’t so much the AA and Woman deal as it is knowing that I have met on-line and via the campaign so many people who share my own values and perspectives and who also are big enough to really admire people in public service who are concerned for others. Hillary and Bill are politicians. Sure.
But they are politicians with a purpose.
For now they have hearded together enough SD to give the appearance of winning to Obama, but their grip loosens every passing hour.
Just as they tried to estabolish Obama as the nominee before we had a chance to think about it, so now they are trying deny the SD a chance to think about it.
Write the SD and remind them of their proscribed duty.
Something we can all hope, instead of an Obama bounce after his dog and pony show last night, polls will show a McCain bounce.
I don’t feel sorry for the Obamas. They have both lived privileged lives compared to most. And rather than use their station in life to help all those struggling to rise above it they BOTH chose to become a part of a separatist church that hates white people.
As far as I am concerned they can both go straight to hell. And I am quite certain there is a special place already reserved for both of them.
I agree with you on all points, except that I don’t really feel sorry for Michelle and Barack. They chose their path for whatever reason. We don’t really know how they’ve lived their lives up until this point in time. If it hasn’t been with integrity and compassion I guess we’ll find out but hopefully sooner than later.

We hear how Hillary only lost because of sexism, or because somehow Obama cheated because he had the audacity to take the caucuses seriously. HillBuzz just posted some comments on the tape, asking if there are any journalists left in this country and describing their googling procedure to pinpoint a possible event for the Michelle outburst.
I choose to believe these rumors. They add up. Michelle, from what I’ve seen, fits the profile of someone with a huge chip on her shoulder.
However, the original posting by Hillbuzz about the tape describes the scene, that is, 30 minutes of ranting fueled by the crowd. You can’t know this detail without seeing the tape or having someone describe it to you. No mention of any third party involvement by Hillbuzz….although it must be there.
So we need to see the tape. If Obama and his friends don’t like that, that’s politics. You’d think Mrs Obama would have more sense and more self-control to put herself in a position like that.
But it’s good to know what she really thinks. That aspect of it is a good thing.

If the tape can be identified, it can be released before the convention. Republicans might not want it played until after the nomination, to avoid Hillary winning, but if we’re clever perhaps we can spoil their plan and get someone in the White House with an actual amount of competence.

He will never divorce her because I believe he is of the same mind. Also, he has come out on an ABC interview, and threatened (not physically)anyone that “attacks” his wife verbally. Although spouses of candidates have always been vetted just like anyone else in the politcal world. It will never be hands-off regarding not only her but also Cindy McCain. Just like it has never been for the Clintons.
What bothers me about this recording is that no one else seems to have a copy. If it was for sale I can’t imagine that no one else out there owns it or can’t get their hands on it to post on Youtube for example. Why do some people need to break this down to black and white, it’s as if they simply cannot understand the more complex thinking that governs this issue.
In needing to simplify, or find a hook, they fail to grasp why voters are outraged. They ignore, at their own peril.

Wright lost him votes. Each time now that there is more to learn about him that is negative, more votes will be lost faster. That’s the way politics works. People actually give newcomers the benefit of the doubt. BUT….since he has no real record, if his known record is negative, then people will decide to dump him. The group that will go first is the latte crowd. He was, I’m convinced, a novelty item anyway in their world.
So from here on, every negative revelation will cost him even more votes.
He cannot afford to lose more. He won Montana with students and Independents. South Dakota traditional Dems once again sent the message that he is not the candidate for them. Puerto Rico represents the Florida Latino community, and that was overwhelmingly, No. WVA represents the Appalacia region, and that was overwhelmingly No.
These are lost votes. He will have to do something stunning to win them back. Or McCain will have to do something stunningly stupid.
The fact is that Michelle is a loose cannon. We all know that. She probably DID pop off.

This is not about hate, unless it is a knee-jerk reaction to the vileness of many obamaroids. It is about qualifications. It is about instances of intimidation at many caucuses. It is about being surrounded by and guided by overtly racist people for over twenty years, and then lying about their influence, access and the depth of their connections when it became necessary to show some distance. It is about a pattern over the campaign of saying the right things, and doing the opposite. It is about many members of the media, being overtly sexist in their comments about Sen. Clinton and overtly fauning over Sen. Obama. It is about the DNC doing whatever they can to block Sen. Clinton’s fair opportunity to achieve the nomination.
All these and many other issues cause me for one to have decided to not cast my vote for Sen. Obama, whether or not Sen. Clinton is his VP choice, whether or not she endores him, campaigns for him or not. That is my choice, my right and my duty. The DNC has lost a lot of dedicated democrats due to their machinations. They owe Sen. Clinton, her supporters and the core of the democratic party an apology. Their arrogance will prevent this. Their arrogance has forced a man of questionable character upon us. Hope and change is a fine message, but what of the messenger?

It IS about the way in which this primary was conducted. I learned a great deal about Pelosi, Dean, etc., as well as about Obama. They are truly not concerned, in my opinion, with fairness. They abused their position power to dismiss the voices of millions of us. They pooh-pahed the real role of the SD’s, making it virtually impossible for people to evaluate him on anything other than stolen delegate count.
They hijacked the process, and they have effectively decided that they prefer the consequences of losing us to McCain. I think that’s a politician’s right to risk. They also need to deal with the real consequences of their choices.
The Democratic Party is not trustworthy at this point. They didn’t win the nomination. They lost the will of the people. That affects every single thing they will try to do from here on. They will not receive the support of voters on bills. They will be viewed with deep mistrust.
They earned that distrust and are continuing to do so with egotistical letters such as what Pelosi has written now. Go ahead. Make us madder. Show us just how politically UNSAVVY you really are.
They have no authority to demand that the party cheer their nominee. He won. He moves forward. So be it. But they cannot demand respect.

Hillbuzz says the rant occurred at the church - but why would Push’s meetings be holding a forum at the church? Weren’t the meetings in the Marriott?

If Hillary does not get the Dem nomination, I would like nothing more than for her, President Clinton, and Geraldine Ferraro to in the future start another party that would actually count votes honestly, fight for issues of benefit to the citizens of this country, and treat all citizens respectfully and as equals regardless of gender, race, ethnic origin, age or sexual orientation.
However, if a McCain/Obama matchup does occur for the GE, the last thing I want to see is anything that draws votes away from McCain and ends up putting Obama in the White House. I never thought I would think anyone could be a worse President than George W. Bush, but with every passing day it becomes obvious that Obama would be just that. I don’t like McCain, but he would not be as disastrous as Obama.
We need to think about this very carefully. If in a three-way contest, no one got the necessary number of electoral votes, the Presidency might end up being decided by the same people Obama has already bought superdelegate votes from. I would not like that result any more than I did when the Supreme Court decided the outcome.
Sometimes I think American mass media is some kind of deliberate disinformation campaign, pulling in the gullible.

NEITHER candidate has the required PLEDGED DELEGATES to win the nomination. Everyone in the media knows this. Everyone in the media is LYING about this “process.”

BO has 2156 TOTAL DELEGATES

shtuey — I called Arlen Spector’s office but the man there said its not possible to do this investigation because of the Rules Committee’s decision on Saturday. I asked him if anyone was going to investigate what went down in this caucuses — where people were verbally abused and Obama bussed his people to caucus. He of course said that with the Democrats in charge of Congress and all the committees he didn’t see any way that the Republicans could launch an investigation. He said he has received a great number of calls from Democrats asking the same thing.
IF the MO tape is for real, it is all over for BO. I HOPE it is real, but will remain cautious in letting myself get carried away thinking about it.

I felt when listening to McCain’s speech yesterday, he was speaking directly to Clinton supporters, those that are centrist; he was clearly emphasizing change and distancing himself from Obama and Bush. He may have won the Dem nomination through less than honorable ways, but he doesn’t have my vote, not now, not ever.

I knew it. The DNC back-up has begun already. The leadership is pressuring delegates to state their preferences. If Obama is the nominee, why all of this pressure? Because they know that he does not have, and will not reach 2210, which is the number of delegates in the *real* world, not some ginned up, post RBC-new math concoction that could become the subject of a congressional investigation.
Just as I suspected, reality is catching up with the media and the pro-Obama thugs in the DNC. Obama is dancing on straw, smoke and dust, trying desperately to explain why he should be the nominee when he doesn’t have enough delegates to hit 2210, the delegates he purchased to reach 2129 are on the fence (pending the tape and other pieces of dirt), and many other delegates are also on the fence, afraid of their own election battles down the road, saddled with a weak, divisive nominee who is virtually guaranteed to lose to McCain.
There is no nominee, people. Nothing has changed. She has the popular vote lead (and there’s nothing that Dean, Reid, Pelosi, Clyburn or Brazille can do about it), and he lacks the delegates to claim victory.

I personally think it is borderline treason to even suggest voting to continue the last 8 years of failed policies by voting for Mc Cain. But if you must, you must.
However, I think it is naive to believe that the other 18 million (or whatever the number is) of people who voted for Hillary are so rabidly anti Obama that they would sacrifice the future of our country just because their candidate lost the primary.
I think it is more likely that they are just average dems like me who favored one candidate over the other in the primary, but are now ready to move on and fix the country. November is about something far more important than whether we ultimately rally around Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama. It’s about whether we decide to reassert democratic principles and change the course we’ve been locked onto by neo-conservative extremists, or give those same people 4 more years to pursue it unchecked. Four more years now will probably get the country in a hole so deep nobody will be able to get us out again. We’d be left not only with the damages of 4 more years of unchecked Bush policies, but with a Supreme Court hand-picked and fine-tuned by the neo-con agenda. We could be stuck with that for decades.
Snap out of it, people! A vote for John McCain is a vote for the rapidly-deteriorating status quo. All grim trends would continue. On top of everything else, you’d be voting to put God knows how many more young American soldiers into early graves.

You seem to think that all Obama supporters are your personal enemies, or enemies of Hillary Clinton. This is not so. And who does that sort of thinking serve? Does it somehow serve Hillary Clinton? I can’t imagine how.

Thank you for writing this out so clearly. I have been saying this since yesterday when suddenly the superdelegates started being added to the elected delegate totals. Since neither candidate reached the “magic number”, whatever it is, both of them should continue to the convention. It seems the DNC is making up the rules as they go along with the manipulation of OUR votes. That is the reason I officially resigned from the un-democratic party and now am an Independent.

Yes, we know this. The point is, it goes against the DNC Constitution to take delegates from one candidate and give them to another. Supers are not normally “forced” to declare until the convention, and Hillary being ahead in the popular vote shows voter intent, and therefore is a valid argument to make to the supers, who have to decide if the candidate is most likely to win come November. Remember, supers can change their mind up until when they vote at the convention. Nobody should be declaring Obama the “winner” just yet. In a perfect world, the DNC should now say… Okay, you both run now against McCain, like you both got the nomination. Bring your cases to the convention and may the best candidate win. But the way this was played in Obama’s favor is just wrong, and it’s setting a bad precedent for the future.

I’m afraid that would just be a different route to guaranteeing the election of John McCain. It would eliminate the possibility of Hillary Clinton serving in the White House in any capacity as a result of the 2008 election, and would very likely destroy her chances of any future attempt to become president. Where are any of the former independent ticket candidates now?

One of the earlier comments stated that he thought people were playing games with this report. It appears that way to me too.
If the Hillbuzz(who claims they never saw the tape)description of the incident is accurate, then maybe some Hillary supporters are indirectly sending a message to Obama supporters and others who would know the actual truth. Just exactly what that message is would depend on what stunning comments were made by Michelle Obama.
I personally don’t consider use of the word “whitey” stunning. It’s offensive, but not a game breaker. I would consider condoning violence of any kind as stunning and would put it in the same category as the sins of Elliot Spitzer, who had to resign as Governor of New York for his indiscretions.
So if something like that occurred, it would be a benefit for everybody to send the signal before a lot of damage is done. And I suppose it would be better coming from an avowedly independent source than the Clinton campaign. What benefit there would be to stimulating everybody’s curiosity in this particular way is not clear to me at all except that we know we aren’t likely to hear this kind of news from the MSM.
I can’t see the benefit of spreading the rumor, especially at this point, without somebody having the actual tape in hand and willing to release it immediately.

I do have a question about the recording. Is it possible that there are two damning tapes out there? The supposed quotes that Booman released featured Hurricane Katrina, but the Hillbuzz post states that the DVD was made in 2004.
I have no doubt there are NUMEROUS recordings of Michelle being Michelle (to varying degrees). Some are high explosive, some are incendiary, and some are nuclear.

ABC News’ Kate Snow Reports: Sen. Hillary Clinton visited staff at her headquarters in Arlington, Virginia Wednesday just after most of them had been told they would no longer have to report to work after Friday.
A staffer who was in the room said she invited all of her campaign staff to come to her home on Friday.
Before Clinton arrived, the staff was told that they would be paid through June 15th. But the bulk of the staff was told their last day of work would be Friday.
Junior staffers were emotional and some were crying and as Clinton left her headquarters, she waved to cameras outside.
HAH. Hillbuzz could be Larry. I bet the CIA is embarrassed. They should be.

We’re sorting supporters out now for the fall. Even Repub voters are fed up with their party.

HOW TO REALLY GET TO NBC
Like many, I’ve been nauseated by the mouthpieces at NBC during this primary season. I used to work at the network a while ago. They are doing this purely because they want the Obama demographic. The network has been struggling for years now. The guy who calls the shots is Jeff Zucker, CEO of NBC Universal. Complaining to the shows themselves will not do much. However, there are some ways to hurt Jeff. 1) Vigorously protesting NBC’s coverage of the Beijing Olympics. That is Jeff’s baby and NBC’s biggest cash cow. 2) Convincing him there is a surge of organized online grassroots movements (women especially) to boycott all NBC News programs, given their biased coverage of the election. Again, he will panic at possibility of losing that young internet demo. 3) Threat of having his name specifically called out in traditional media (papers, tv, etc) in a national PR campaign to protest his negative leadership style at NBC. He will not want Immelt seeing that at GE. Finally, how to contact and harass Jeff directly. His email is jeff.zucker@nbcuni.com. If you want to call, dial (212) 664-4444. Say you are calling for Jeff Zucker’s office. Give a false name, say you are calling from one of the film studios or talent agencies in LA (Disney, Univeral, Paramount, Warner Brothers, Miramax, CAA, William Morris, etc). That will get you through the screen, and you will get Jeff’s executive assistant. You won’t get to Jeff, but you can make your complaints/threats in an organized, sane, credible, action-oriented sense. Enough emails and calls, trust me, it will have an effect. Jeff has always been close to his on-air talent. He’s the one pulling the strings on all the pundits and their guests. Scarborough is the only exception, and I believe he threatened to leave this past month. For people who care, hope that helps.

All is not lost. She’s “suspending” on Friday which means she keeps her delegates. Suspending her campaign is NOT dropping out. It sounds to me that she’s keeping her delegates in hopes that something either happens to Obama (as in she drops the tape on the News Media) or they give her a spot she can stomach. If it happened where you said it happened (in a public forum) in 2004, it should be easy to get. Too easy. That’s why I don’t think it happened there or it’d be out by now.
I just got off of the phone with a friend of Larry’s who told me their is a tape and its Rezko and Michelle making fun of bloggers with bowl cuts. I know its out there now
In search of the DVD…assuming it exists. I’m hoping, like most of the rest of you. If all of the speeches and panels at that event were videotaped, then there would be several hours of video. You can put about 2-hours of video on a DVD, more depending on how you “compress” the video on to the DVD. So, it’s likely there would be several DVDs covering different parts of the event. The church may have shot the video itself or outsourced both the shooting of the events and the duplication of the DVDs. If any of it was out-sourced, the name of the production company may be on the DVDs. If all the work was done in-house, then the church’s “Rosemary Woods” (you remember, Nixon’s secretary who made a few deletions of her own) may have already deleted the Michelle rant from the files.
As for local TV stations having video of the event in their files, not likely. Tapes are routinely re-used in a matter of days.
FYI. I’m a former TV news reporter (Washington, DC) and currently in the video and DVD production business in Chicago.
Both Cannonfire and the Volokh Conspiracy looked into the specific story alleged by HillBuzz, and it appears the story there is false.
That doesn’t mean the tape doesn’t exist of Michelle Obama; it just means there is no tape or recollection of MO going ballistic at this particular conference.

Your version of the tape is entirely different than the one with Michelle and Mrs Farrakhan at the Sheraton in 2004. So far we have three versions. 1) Michelle ranting about Bill Clinton 2) Michelle ranting about Bush and Katrina which can’t be in 2004 3) Michelle and Rezko Could this be right?
Susan, Cannonfire and Volokh said that they don’t believe it’s true, but they based that on the fact that there is no proof yet, and proof on this shouldn’t be that hard to get.

Cannon tried to contact the ABC reporters who were moderators of the event.
He moreorless admits that his information is inconclusive, but tends to disprove the existence of the tape. ABC has no recollection of Michelle’s rant.
However, I note ABC admitted that they had footage of Shoshana Johnson who was on the panel with Michelle. ABC destroyed the footage after the story aired on the evening news. And, who knows the footage that HillBuzz refers to may not have been recorded by ABC.

The quest for “The Tape” is like the quest for Dubyas military records. Depending on who the players behind the curtain are this tape might be like Dubya’s drunk driving arrest: discovered at zero hour but the “press” will be reluctant to cover the story until after people vote, um, in order not to influence the election.
