What John McCain Said

Andy sent this to me. I don’t have a link, but agree that it sums up what a lot of us think about Obama:

“I don’t seek the presidency on the presumption I’m blessed with such personal greatness that history has anointed me to save my country in its hour of need,” [John McCain] said. “I seek the office with the humility of a man who cannot forget my country saved me.”

(Just as Hillary has always consistently expressed her undying gratitude to this country for all it has given her … the country which Hillary Clinton has always been proud to call her own.)

Difference between a patiot – McCain

Communist – Obama

Comment by YesYouCanGrowABrain | 2008-06-04 15:44:14

In our country, I have found that this cooperation happens not because we agree on everything, but because behind all the labels and false divisions and categories that define us; beyond all the petty bickering and point-scoring in Washington, Americans are a decent, generous, compassionate people, united by common challenges and common hopes. And every so often, there are moments which call on that fundamental goodness to make this country great again.

So it was for that band of patriots who declared in a Philadelphia hall the formation of a more perfect union; and for all those who gave on the fields of Gettysburg and Antietam their last full measure of devotion to save that same union.

So it was for the greatest generation that conquered fear itself, and liberated a continent from tyranny and made this country home to untold opportunity and prosperity.

So it was for the workers who stood out on the picket lines; the women who shattered glass ceilings; the children who braved a Selma bridge for freedom’s cause.

So it has been for every generation that faced down the greatest challenges and the most improbable odds to leave their children a world that’s better, and kinder, and more just.

And so it must be for us.

America, this is our moment. This is our time. Our time to turn the page on the policies of the past. Our time to bring new energy and new ideas to the challenges we face. Our time to offer a new direction for the country we love.

The journey will be difficult. The road will be long. I face this challenge with profound humility, and knowledge of my own limitations. But I also face it with limitless faith in the capacity of the American people. Because if we are willing to work for it, and fight for it, and believe in it, then I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on earth. This was the moment—this was the time—when we came together to remake this great nation so that it may always reflect our very best selves and our highest ideals. Thank you, God bless you, and may God bless the United States of America.

This is a very old joke my father used to tell:
‘What is the difference between a liberal man and a gentleman?’
‘A liberal man treats all ladies as “working girls”, while a gentleman treats all “working girls” as ladies.

I am sorry if this offends anyone – no offense intended. It only points out that a good man, a gentleman will never be sexist, condescending or patronizing if it comes to women, or for that matter, anyone.

Comment by wry | 2008-06-04 19:25:13

I’m not offended. My eyes were opened by the respectful interview Bill O’Reilly gave Hillary Clinton. He argued issue after issue, but treated her as the brilliant adversary she is.
Compare that to Olberman. ( of course we’ve all heard about his little problem).

Clinton Supporters Offer To Help McCain

Matt Burns, the spokesman for the GOP convention in St. Paul e-mails to say that the RNC’s convention office in St. Paul has received numerous telephone calls in the last few hours from people who identify themselves as Clinton supporters asking how they can help Sen. McCain.

If Obama is to have any humility at all, it will have to be forced upon him, like demanding that Hillary be on his ticket. He could learn alot about being gracious by spending time with the Clintons on the campaign trail.

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-06-04 13:12:11

Cindy…..humility is hard-won in life. It comes from experience, yes, but it comes from how one interprets and reacts to experience more.

He’ll never get it.

Comment by Cindy | 2008-06-04 13:56:12

Yes, ANNINCA, I understand what you’re saying, especially since I’m a 62 yr. old woman. You’re right, but I think Obama is easily influenced. That’s why he appeals to the “herd mentality” like he does.

Comment by abycat | 2008-06-04 12:53:37

Heard him say this last night before Hillary’s speech. I thought it was a great way for McCain to make a contrast with the arrogance of Obama. Obama better “saddle up.” It is going to be a bumpy ride.

He also said some gracious things about HRC.

Senator Clinton has earned great respect for her tenacity and courage. The media often overlooked how compassionately she spoke to the concerns and dreams of millions of Americans, and she deserves a lot more appreciation than she sometimes received. As the father of three daughters, I owe her a debt for inspiring millions of women to believe there is no opportunity in this great country beyond their reach. I am proud to call her my friend. Pundits and party elders have declared that Senator Obama will be my opponent.

A nice switch from “giving-the-finger” Obamessiah.

Comment by Bob | 2008-06-04 15:17:12

Oh how nice coming from the man that laughed as one of his supporters asked him “What can we do to beat the bitch?” in regards to Hillary Clinton.

Comment by TheViking | 2008-06-04 16:42:00

Give it a rest idiot.

It was just a knee-jerk reponse, and he smiled.

Kinda like when someone tells me a N**ger joke — I KNOW it’s wrong, but I something inside me finds it a little funny.

Oh well, I must be a racist. :)

Comment by Kat5 | 2008-06-04 16:34:26

John McCain is looking more and more attractive to this diehard Hill supporter. This sounds pretty sincere to me – and it means a lot. Especially after being trashed over and over again over these past months by nasty Obamabots, and watching Hillary get trashed by Obama himself, with the bloviator boyz and girlz enabling him all the way. I think I’m about to join the ranks of the McHill voters, yes indeed.

Comment by TheViking | 2008-06-04 16:44:30

It IS sincere! That’s the point.

Like when Bill put his office in Harlem after DECADES of helping the AA (and other) communities.

But HE must be a racist too! You know how I know?

OBAMA SAID SO!

Talked with my business partners in Canada. They are amazed at the way the democrats nominate a candidate.

“You don’t have one person one vote do you?”
“Just smells bad”

Looks like Amerika is going Marxist.

Not if this bitter moss back can help it!!!!

Go McCain

Comment by street_parade | 2008-06-04 20:41:16

Two smart things McCain did with his speech. Painted BO as both megalomaniacal “I don’t seek the presidency on the presumption I’m blessed with such personal greatness that history has anointed me to save my country in its hour of need,” and de-legitimized him “Pundits and party elders have declared that Senator Obama will be my opponent.”

Very astute speech.

Obama is in trouble, he cannot compete with this rhetoric. Brilliant on McCain’s part, he is actually speaking to us 17-18 million who’s voices have been muted. LOVE to see how Mr. smoke and mirrors handles this. Oh, and a thought: do the all white love machine on MSNBC realize that the guy they love so much hates them? Funny how this works.

Comment by 30yrdem | 2008-06-04 12:55:42

I watched John McCain say that in a speech yesterday..it was coming from his heart..I was very impressed with him as were others I was blogging with at the time.

Comment by Lucinda | 2008-06-04 13:11:44

Me, too. I watched his speech and thought that he had a lot of things stuff to say. Afterwards, the pundits were talking about how McCain’s delivery can’t be compared to Obama’s, but the content of McCain’s speech was much better and it was new material whereas Obama just repeated a lot of the same things he’s been saying for months.

Comment by bcc | 2008-06-04 14:50:13

Frankly, whenever Obama veers off script he sounds dreadful. It’s only the prepared and rehearsed speeches that sound any good.

Obama’s words are fine. His actions are louder.

Here is what I heard him say to his daughters.

That’s the message he gave to his daughters.

As far as I’m concerned, McCain is the real deal. Absent Hillary, if the choice is Obama or McCain, there is no question that the best man for the country is JMC.

Besides, he’s hitting a lot of the hot button issues that we care about, like the environment. The best part is so many Republicans are angry at him for doing that.

I thought McCain was kinder and more gracious to Hillary than the “forced down our throat presumptive nominee.” That says volumes about BO.

Comment by Joseph | 2008-06-04 13:10:53

I can’t believe how out-of-touch this is. I direct you to the Democratic nominee’s speech on race, when he said:

“I am the son of a black man from Kenya and a white woman from Kansas. I was raised with the help of a white grandfather who survived a Depression to serve in Patton’s Army during World War II and a white grandmother who worked on a bomber assembly line at Fort Leavenworth while he was overseas. I’ve gone to some of the best schools in America and lived in one of the world’s poorest nations. I am married to a black American who carries within her the blood of slaves and slaveowners – an inheritance we pass on to our two precious daughters. I have brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, uncles and cousins, of every race and every hue, scattered across three continents, and for as long as I live, I will never forget that in no other country on Earth is my story even possible.”

“I will never forget that in no other country on Earth is my story even possible.” That’s pretty clear to me.

Comment by pm317 | 2008-06-04 13:18:53

It takes a lot more than reading your speechwriter from a teleprompter. That is the difference we are talking about — the gap between his speech and his actions (or lack thereof).

We are not going to win this election by abandoning HRC supporters – if anything we need them now more than ever. Now I read that a longtime DUer and all-around great guy Deep13 is thinking of leaving DU. He’s an HRC supporter who feels that we are treating the HRC supporters like shit and personally – I can’t blame him.

This primary season is done. Obama is the presumptive nominee. Time for us to mend the wounds and reach out to each other and bring unity back to this party. The enemy is not Hillary Clinton – it’s John McCain and the republican party.

And Deep13 if you read this – please stay. Anyone who treats you like shit or calls you a liar should be alerted upon. You’re too good of a person to be treated like this!

A McCain / Clinton ticket is as delusional as the possibility of a Kerry / McCain ticket was in 2004. Hillary would never run on a republican ticket and McCain would never ask her if she would agree. Bill and Hillary are democrats and he has a legacy to protect. McCain’s running mate will be a far right type to solidify the base. The repubs are as split as the dems are. They also have Bob Barr running on the Libertarian ticket. While not as much of a spoiler as Ron Paul would be, he could cause as much peeling of voters as Ralph Nader.

I listened to John McCain
His speech was good he just certainly needs to improve his delivery as no one is listening as he tried to smile more..the smiles were a distraction..He is going to have trouble with Obama just as Hillary did if he tries to go one on one for the speeches..
But, he is right on target when he says this man…Obamie … thinks he was born for his position sought..He is the divine ONE..He has been groomed and schooled for it..
Boy does he know how to deliver a speech and make a person want to feel again..but, you know what his background with characters that I feel are not the American way..well, I have trouble believing he Obamie believes himself..He spouts the words but, as has been shown when he truly could have STOOD UP AND SPOKEN OUT..he lost his voice..
Terri Schiavo..remember this disastor he had a chance like he said ..he knew it was wrong yet he stayed silent..sounds like he is ready to STAND UP FOR US doesn’t it..
The war…his speech in 2000 when nobody knew him and his audience was programmed for him..the key speaker was Jesse Jackson Jr. not Barack Obama..but, he sure took credit for it as soon as it meant something to advance his own situation but, after winning the senate seat I don’t hear any great orator giving speeches every day trying to get us out of Iraq..He just WENT ALONG…
He was appointed to Lugar commission for nuclear weapons..that was given to him for his bragging rights..
So programmed and he had opportunity most of all to
stop the CLINTON BASHING AND RACE BAITING..but, he did nothing until the people who had helped him and many others to take their rightful place in society he lets his campaign people and himself use the term truth much too lightly..he could have SPOKE UP and let America know like he is saying now how tirelessly the Clintons have worked for Civil Rights and Human Rights with Hillary onboard with the healthcare isssue and education..so Mr. Obama you are a chicken and let this hate and discontent just fester when you could have spoke out and stopped the racist and sexist remarks put forward by your campaign people ..
threatening people and businesses..
oh what a group of wonderful people you hang with Mr. Obamie..
Good Luck as I cannot vote for this *empty suit*..all words no action ..Sorry sorry for this country that the person who has worked their whole lives to better peoples lives gets the short stick when it comes to democratic party..just switch delegates..
forcing Hillary out and the phone calls etc..that we Hillary supporters are hearing about.sure doesn’t make me want to join this Team Obama either…
concerned american woman Vet still believing in those things called MIRACLES and believe it is going to take one to dislodge this empty suit from the presidency but, has to be the Mrs..and himself and their own acquaintances and actions over the years that bring them down..
LOOK AT WHO THE HUNG WITH AND YOU WILL KNOW THE PERSON..WELL I DON’T LIKE WHAT I AM SEEING..

Please think about Hillary as your running mate, with the two of you and the 18, million that voted and supported Hillary, and those that support you we can indeed take back our country and make the next step forward.

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-06-04 13:23:04

Oh please. Hillary is not a Republican and never will be. Her policies are more far-reaching than Obama’s ever thought about being.

She and McCain are friends. That’s all. They respect one another.

But make no mistake, Hillary never was “McCain Lite.”

I will vote for McCain as a “Vote the Rascals Out” message.

But NOT because McCain represents me.

He’ll never represent me. I do respect him.

But let’s not get ourselves confused here.

Comment by thenana1 | 2008-06-04 13:35:52

AnninCa,

Right now in this time we need to work together, there is much wrong not just in our country but in the world, and will take all of us to put it together.

Being a democrat or republican are just terms, that we use, and how do we use them? To tear each other apart, that is one of the biggest reasons we are in this mess, we refuse as apeople to realize that all of us , everyone is at fault here.

Being bitter and angry will take us to the corner of the street, where once again we will refuse to cross this street to solve things. It is time to stop this crap.

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-06-04 13:55:21

Oh, well you’re welcome to label me bitter.

I think Obama is a disaster. He couldn’t get a bill passed about dogcatching, nevermind anything real.

McCain will move us forward by an inch.

So, no…….Obama is a disaster in all respects. I’ll never vote for a disaster.

Comment by thenana1 | 2008-06-04 15:06:43

AnninCa,

No way would I consider you bitter,if that is the impression you got please know I am sorry.

I see the bitterness coming from the obot group a bunch of children who want something with out working for it, that bitterness and anger is what will keep us from solving the things that must be solved.

Listening to McCain, I saw no anger or bitterness, just the willingness to reach out to all of us, accross the party lines, that is what we need, that obama can’t see this because his ego is to big, he is a spoiled child, stamping his foot, teaching his followers that they should have what ever they want with out working for it.

Comment by Northwest rain | 2008-06-04 15:25:18

Idiot Obamabot — we are not bitter.

WE are fearful for our country — the very thought of a self serving, self centered person who HATES America — getting anywhere near the reins of power is frightening.

I do NOT want snObama anywhere near the military. My father was career military and the military puts their lives in the hands of the CiC — and snObama must not be allowed that sort of control.

Look at the creeps snObama surrounds himself with – they are the low life, the dirty filthy looters of the Chicago political machine.

If you do not understand the difference between hurt or bitterness AND fear and disgust — you are an idiot.

ANYONE who falls for the snObama is an ignorant ass anyway as well as an idiot.

Obama has a long history of Sabotaging democracy for his own personal gain…

We all lose when we allow Obama to continue to steal votes and stop votes from counting.

At the very end of the above CNN investigative report John Kass states the connection between Obama and Mayer Daley.

The only person set to gain in the theft of American’s votes is Daley.

We deserve better.

Change is coming…

18 million american voters demand it…

Our Votes Will Count…

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-06-04 13:43:33

Here’s where I probably part ways with Larry and Susan. I think all this business about his past nefarious methods are just duplicating the Republican “think.”

I don’t really mind that he came up through the Chicago politics methods. Everyone has to come from some place.

However, I think it’s relevant when people aren’t focused enough on being of public service to leave that stuff behind.

His actions in the actual primary season gave me the information. He is not leaving that tactical approach behind.

I think my own confirmation really came yesterday. Timing the SD count so she couldn’t even win South Dakota was really, really a big slap in the face to me.

I got it.

He knows that it’s a slap in the face of her supporters. No question about that now. Her support is hardly “soft.”

And yet, he did that.

I will never vote for Obama or for any of his supporters again because of this one action on his part.

I’m quite serious.

I am going to make SURE that no SD of him in my area ever gets my support.

I may decide to go further, and support financially their opposition. It depends. I won’t backlash without good solid evidence that it’s worth it.

But I’m SURE. None of them will get my vote, ever again.

Obama has insulted me to my very bones. I saw it early on, with the Reagan speech. I didn’t bite like a lot, “Oh, he loves Reagan.”

No, that speech was all about hating the Clintons. I got it.

And I’ve been proven correct. Even this tape?

Look what Michelle is ranting against. Clinton.

I simply think this is insanity talking. Bill Clinton has done fabulous stuff, even as an ex-president.

I can’t even “get” someone who is so insanely jealous or race-oriented that they dismiss the efforts of people who are working for Africa and elsewhere.

It’s just too flipping personal. It’ too out there.

I am at ease today.

I think, as in the past, Hillary and Bill are too advanced.

They are the true progressives. Always has been.

And that’s Ok.

I’d rather they lose because of this than win being the jerks that I see on the side of Obama.

How much easier does it get now after votes and voters have been suppressed for the first time? What will the causation be the next time? What small, simple “rule” will come before the concept of one person, one vote now that the great divide has been crossed? This was more than vile. It was the beginning of the end of Democracy as we have known it. I will NEVER vote for BO for that reason alone. Nor should any other REAL DEMOCRAT.

Wouldn’t that be the biggest slap in the face of the Obamistas and the crazy democratic party?

I would party like it’s 1999!! McCain would be a lock for the presidency then. I seriously think the Republican party would welcome this. They know Hillary would save them all!!!!!

p.s

I doubt it will happen though!

I don’t doubt the tape exists but have you any idea of when or who will release it? The country needs to see firsthand what awaits them if this group succeeds in getting the WH. Not fair if this is just bandied around as “rumor” when the debate can be settled easily enough. Someone owes this to the voter. Any thoughts you can share?

Comment by jadwiga | 2008-06-04 19:06:24

If the tape exist, a hard core Republican has it and it will be aired only when Hillary can’t take over anymore. Karl Rove isn’t dead.

Comment by indypol | 2008-06-04 13:25:13

I knew it. The DNC back-up has begun already. The leadership is pressuring delegates to state their preferences. If Obama is the nominee, why all of this pressure? Because they know that he does not have, and will not reach 2210, which is the number of delegates in the *real* world, not some ginned up, post RBC-new math concoction that could become the subject of a congressional investigation.

Just as I suspected, reality is catching up with the media and the pro-Obama thugs in the DNC. Obama is dancing on straw, smoke and dust, trying desperately to explain why he should be the nominee when he doesn’t have enough delegates to hit 2210, the delegates he purchased to reach 2129 are on the fence (pending the tape and other pieces of dirt), and many other delegates are also on the fence, afraid of their own election battles down the road, saddled with a weak, divisive nominee who is virtually guaranteed to lose to McCain.

There is no nominee, people. Nothing has changed. She has the popular vote lead (and there’s nothing that Dean, Reid, Pelosi, Clyburn or Brazille can do about it), and he lacks the delegates to claim victory.

Once again, a draw. Your move, Madame President.

Comment by karen for Clinton | 2008-06-04 13:59:05

Yeah, so what does Clyburn do… he calls the race card again. Hillary supporters supposedly called his office and made racial slurs.

Does he think he is the only person to get this type reaction on any side?

Ferraro said the “Obama Campaign” tried to get her FIRED from her law office, fer chrissakes!

It could have been ob supporters calling him and saying they were for Hillary just to make us look bad or republicans screwing with him for the heck of it. Or any other possibility. But it doesn’t bear any meaning in the big picture and it certainly has no reflection on Hillary supporters that I have met this entire year.

Comment by Northwest rain | 2008-06-04 15:33:51

Anyone Clinton supporter who is going to vote for McCain clearly doesn’t care anything about what Clinton stands for: a woman’s right to choose, universal health care, genuine protection of the environment, a more progressive tax code and an end to fiscal insanity, and so on and so forth. All of the substantive arguments McCain leveled against Obama are identical to those he would have leveled against Hilary had she been the nominee.

Hilary understands this. Why can’t some of her supporters? Stop disrespecting her out of spite.

I voted her. I’ll vote for Obama in the general.

BUT……

and it’s a big one.

I do believe he’s a true compromiser. Obama and his DNC backers have PROVEN that they are not. They have shoved this nomination down the public’s throat. They are actually not trustworthy, in that I can fully predict their actions. They have PROVEN that they are all about political power and will ignore the greater voter majority. We all get that today. She has the popular vote. They don’t care. They are worse, even, than the Republicans in 2000.

OK…..so that’s where it stands.

Wow. Just wow. You’re going to vote to maximize the chance of policies you oppose being enacted because you think McCain is more of a “compromiser.”

I don’t know what to make of this. For months I’ve thought that Obama supporters were in some sort of alternate reality with their anti-Hiliary rants. Now I discover a significant percentage of my compatriots who voted for Hilliary live in a parallel universe where Obama is a “cheat” because his campaign showed a better command of the rules of the nominating process. I’m deeply saddened.

For me, it’s a matter of substance.

McCain has a real, verifiable record and likely has a respected network of advisors. Like it or not, he also has a platform.

What little we know of BO is that he has no record and through his corrupt political ties, has unsavory characters in his network. BO’s platform is hope & change -of what we don’t know- plus whatever he can lift from Senator Clinton’s website, even if he doesn’t understand it.

If anyone were to cover up the names on the resume’s of the 3 candidates (Clinton, McCain, Obama) and review the resume’s without the filters of age, race, and sex, it would be clear that this is how they would rank, in terms of experience/qualifications:
1st Clinton
2nd McCain
3rd Obama

Why is this so difficult for people to understand?

I watched the Obama speech in the Detroit area on Monday (not by choice; it was on where I work). Obama indeed opened with this ridiculous “I do this because it’s our country’s hour of need” line. It was all I could do to keep from vomiting.

Comment by The Real Hope | 2008-06-04 13:40:11

McCain’s quiet dignity was quite impressive last night, particularly with regard to the quote you printed. Although it was a widely panned speech and appeared boring, the man has substance. I don’t agree with him on most issues, but I respect him and feel that he truly loves his country and has given the best parts of his youth to this nation. This is not something Obama can claim. Obama, although a magnificent speaker with tremendous charisma is merely mouthing platitudes that that illicit a Pavlo’s dog response from his crazed, youth-laden audiences. This is not to say that the guy isn’t something to watch, but SO WHAT!! I’m far past being mesmerized by this kind of rock star mentality. He still lacks experience, judgement (as evidenced by his myriad ministers and associations/friends) and is dishonest in his dealings. He can froth at the mouth all he wants, he has insulted my intelligence by his treatment of Hillary and does not deserve to be POTUS. IMHO.

Comment by pm317 | 2008-06-04 13:52:47

I want to challenge the myth that he is a great speaker. What is so great about him looking from side to side at his teleprompters (like someone watching a tennis match). If you mute it and watch the speech, you see no eye contact or no way of trying to connect with the audience. He may do that in the rallies and stump speeches where he is moving about but his big speeches from the teleprompters are generally like a guy watching a tennis match.

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-06-04 14:00:13

I’m not going to even dispute this. I never thought Reagan was the great communicator either. I kept waiting. He wasn’t.

Sure enough, turns out it was early alzheimers.

So I trust my judgement now.

You are correct. Obama is all about academic-speak.

The reason people like him is they don’t know what he’s saying, and they can imagine they he’s saying what they wish he would say.

That’s all. He’s a blank slate.

Write your message.

I found it a bit suspicious how Wolf Blitzer on CNN kept pulling “Supers” out of his ass last night. Like a leaky faucet, those delegates kept dripping until Oblama came on to speak. Did this strike anyone as odd? Funny how those MSM talking heads just kept rolling out the “REQUIRED” number as the night wore on. What happened today? wheres the “FLOOD” of them? I suspect that those Media whores were either trying to surpress the vote in SD and Montana or they were trying to force Hillary to concede last night. Either way, they failed!

Comment by Caya | 2008-06-04 13:48:09

Comment by pm317 | 2008-06-04 13:44:58

McCain also said this in his speech las night — pay attention to the last line.

One of the arguments from the republicans will be “how can you trust a party that gives free votes and delegates and steals the same from the other candidate to nominate a weaker candidate despite opposition from the majority of its party voters?”

Comment by Sharon | 2008-06-04 13:55:10

I’m glad you quoted this section of Sen. McCain’s speech because I was particularly struck by this phrase when I heard it last night: Pundits and party elders have declared that Senator Obama will be my opponent.

McCain gets it, as do we, that party elders and pundits…not voters…selected the Democratic nominee. Disgraceful!

Comment by so saddened | 2008-06-04 14:35:46

that line got me too. and in conjunction with the line about “there is no opportunity in this great country beyond their reach” it says a lot. it says there’s no opportunity beyond your reach, girls,

UNLESS the idiotic dems decide that it IS beyond your reach and they’re giving it to a boob of a barely-man who has done nothing but demand that he get all the goodies.

and that’s the whole point, isn’t it? we can earn something, but they can still take it away if they feel like it. and if we complain, we’re whiny.

of course, if obummer complains about some minor perceived slight, he’s not whiny. and it’s racist of us to think he is.

In fact she and her people are working to phones the rest of this week. And Hillary asked for her supporters to contact her and we have and most are telling her to fight on!

Today she maintains her position of not conceding at the AIPAC Conference, Washington, DC.

As a senator from New York, who has talked way too much, I have seen the tragic toll of terrorism on 9/11 here at home as well. My support for Israel does not come recently or lightly. I know it is right in my head, in my heart and in my gut. And that is exactly the commitment we need in our next president – a Democratic president, because the Democratic Party’s strong commitment to the state of Israel since the days of Harry Truman endures today. It is one of our party’s most cherished values and it will continue under the next Democratic president.

I know Senator Obama understands what it is at stake here. It has been an honor to contest these primaries with him. It is an honor to call him my friend. And let me be very clear: I know that Senator Obama will be a good friend to Israel. I know that Senator Obama shares my view that the next president must be ready to say to the world: America’s position is unchanging, our resolve unyielding, our stance nonnegotiable. The United States stands with Israel, now and forever.

Let me underscore that I believe we need a Democrat in the White House next January because it is not just Israel that faces challenges in the 21st century, America does, too.

She says only a “we need a Democrat in the White House” and that could still be her.

So keep contacting ALL the SD’d, the DNC, Reid, Pelosi, etc. Let then know Obama on the ticket is not acceptable! Let them know we will vote for McCain unless Hillary is at the top of the ticket! Let them know not only will you be voting for McCain but you will be actively campaigning for him!

We have the power to stop Obama from getting the nomination. There are more of us that voted for Hillaty!

The DNC thinks they handed the nomination to Obama. If they can hand it to him, they can hand it right back to Hillary!

KEEP FIGHTING! NOW IS NOT THE TIME FOR QUITTERS!

Must state right here and now no way should Obama be on the ticket, in any place. Why should he be rewarded even with a VP spot? He has cheated, lied and bought this country close tom riots, and the threat of them.

So if/when Hillary gets the nod, then she should pick someone that she can trust and work with, someone where she does not have to watch her back 24/7.

If she is offered the VP, she should tell obama where to put it.

What’s up with this site are the DailyIdiots trying to do their best Alinsky style to stop it?

Wake up America this Obama/Marxist is a total empty vessel being filed by the Alinsky Marxist Axelrod Chicago Black Liberatin Theology Jew Hating Club.

And no I am not a tin foil person. Is the worst type of politician. He is lying to all these young people he is just using techniques that he has learned from Alinsky that is why is has gotten them to his rallies and they are falling for his Marxist crap.

The media will not report it because they will not even take the time to try to find out about the real underlying agenda for Obama/Marxist.

The democratic party is over and we all know it. The new democratic party is now the Marxist Party.

I will post and post and post anywhere I can to get this person found out.

Do the homework. Read about Alinsky organizing. Read the Playboy articles about him if you don’t want to read his books.

Rick Sanchez at CNN had a kid on the other nite who wrote a book about the revolution. He spoke about the Great Alinsky. He was the guy who was on Daily Show and John called him the new Che. God, what is it going to take for people to get the picture?

It didn’t work int he 60’s for Ayers, et al because they could not get their agenda to the masses. But, with the internet and this bi-racial candidate they have their perfect vehicle.

America we cannot afford to be democrat or republican this time – we cannot let this man near the White House.

NO OBAMA/MARXIST
PROTECT AMERICA FROM THIS MARXIST

There were people watching this vote stealing in 3rd world countries wondering how the Democratic Party can endorse the stealing of votes…

Comment by ea | 2008-06-04 15:15:32

my letter to HRC via her website–

Dear Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton:

I truly believe you would be the best nominee for the Democrats this year. There is no official nominee until voting is finished at the convention. Please continue onward to Denver this summer.

Rhetoric rarely matches reality in this world, and the U.S.A continually represents itself as a beacon of democracy. What has happened during this primary campaign and the two previous presidential elections clearly shows the reality. Many have lamented the decline in educational standards over the decades, but every citizen from primary school to retirement should learn how the executive and legislative branches of our government are elected. You have given a master class in this topic, but it is not yet time for the final exam. Please, please, Senator Clinton, continue educating the country by going to Denver and seeking the nomination for PRESIDENT from your party.

The super- or automatic delegates should do their job. I have seen too often how those with some amount of power become lazy–it is go along to get along in order to keep what they have and a ready acceptance of taking the easy way out of whatever conflict or challenge that might arise. You won the popular vote, and you won the (almost) winner-take-all system that will actually happen at the end of this year. The former is democracy, the latter is not. The in-between system of the Democratic National Party, using delegates is really a mixed bag. What has become painfully clear is that your party believes some votes are more valuable than others. The Rules and Bylaws Committee of your party also believes that the certified votes of states can be apportioned however they decide, not how the voters decide. How is this different in effect from changing vote tallies after-the-fact or stuffing the ballot box with fake ballots?

I believe your campaign can clearly make the case to ALL of the delegates (Some pledged delegates are not bound.) that you are the best candidate, by the numbers, for president: popular vote, electoral college, ¿number of Congressional districts?, ¿number of counties?, and the vote:pledged delegate ratio. The numbers approach is a place to start; experience, history of service, and gravitas will serve to close the argument.

While I believe there is a place for forgiveness on a personal level, not challenging unethical and possibly illegal conduct during elections serves only to re-enforce the notion that you can get away with it if you have enough money and to discourage further participation in the fragile representative democracy that exists in the United States.

You are a role model for every American. Thank you for inspiring me.

Sincerely,

he is someone i have always had respect for.

i am sure he will work together with the Hillary supporters on healthcare…

its called working together to solve problems…

but you can go ahead and stick to your candidate who can only steal votes.

Zephyr ….

Who knows what Obama will do as President….in Iraq or domestically?

We have only heard rhetoric and his actions are different than his rhetoric and his rhetoric changes.

We have no record to verify him on and what we have is extremely concerning.

We are not even sure his loves this country… and who is pulling the Obama strings … and who would be ultimately running this country.

His Securitry advisor stated in a taped interview that we can not believe in the campaign talk about withdrawal of the troops, he will have to look into it.

So WHO KNOWS about Obama……

McCain…. loves this country… and I am an American before I am a Democrat. McCain is a man of substance and stands heads and shoulders above Obama.

Hillary or McCain will be the next President… NO OBAMA

I am sure a great patriot like McCain is just as offended as the rest of us at Obama’s vote stealing…

Comment by Peggy Sue | 2008-06-04 17:38:02

To those who may think that merely acquiescing to a VP spot for Hillary Clinton will ensure votes for the “presumptive” nominee, Barack Obama–think again.

I have sent my message to Senator Clinton. If the VP spot if offered, I hope she refuses. Taking a second seat on the ticket is not worthy of who she is. Either way, if Obama is run as a Presidental candidate, I will vote for John McCain. It will be the first time I will ever vote for a Republican. Not because I agree with McCain on many issues but because I believe he’s an honorable man and my dissenting vote will be one small voice against a party system that is bankrupt.

I do not say this lightly. But I will vote for McCain and I will vote down ticket to send a message to anyone and everyone in DC who thinks we “will all get in line.” I am disgusted with the actions of the party leadership. I am equally disgusted with the press once again relinquished its responsibility and any objectivity it may have once had.

My vote is not for sale and will not be sweet-talked into submission. In November, I will vote as an independent American!

Comment by speedingpullet | 2008-06-04 17:40:07

“I’d rather vote for McCain than Obama”

Way to go. Vote against your own self interest.
Just ask the millions who voted for Bush – twice – how well that turned out for them.

There’s fewer of you than you like to think – most democratic women will vote for Obama in november. Yes, a lot of them won’t like it, but they’ll do it rather than allow McCain to have the election.

Most of them will see the opportunity for making lemonade out of lemons, no matter how flawed the lemonade maker may be. Women have always been practical, and will work with the cloth they have… what’s stopping you from making the same opportunity for yourselves?

And for a site that professes to hate the racist and sexist things being said about Sen Clinton, you certainly don’t hold back on your sexism and racism about the Obamas.

Obama = snobama’; ‘Michelle is a *itch’.

Those are hurtful and powerful things to say, especially about people you profess to have (willfully) no knowledge of.

Why so much hate against Michelle Obama?

She’s intelligent, educated, accomplished, doesn’t take %ull$hit from anyone, fiercely protective of her daughters and husband and isn’t afraid to speak her mind?
How is she that different from Sen Clinton?

Michelle Obama’s going to be a role-model for many girls and women in the years to come, why is that so terrible?
There’s room for both Sen Clinton and Ms Obama to make a difference in women’s lives, its not a position kept exclusively for Sen Clinton.

Bottom Line: PLEASE vote for the PERSON who has America’s values, integrity, prosperity and FREEDOM at heart. Vote for a man who was RAISED with American values. PLEASE don’t vote just for the sake of the PARTY, or for a man who delivers a good speech, yet has a ‘hate America’, ‘blame whites’ past – as recently as a few months ago.

If Hilter were a democrat, would you still vote democrat? If Stalin were a repubican, would you still vote republican? People need to ’stand outside’ their rep/dem boxes and start viewing the person, his/her character, integrity and values before making a decision that could affect all of our lives and the way we are accustomed to living. This is serious business, people – NOT a beauty or ‘best speaker’ contest.

What scares the hell out of me is Obama as prez. with a democratic congress….you know the same congress that has an 18% approval rating.

Or the swooning nut-case Samatha “Hillary is a monster” and “Obama’s ending the war is just campaign talk he doesn’t really mean it.” Powers as foreign relations person or General McPeak, republican defense contractor, dispised by the military as Sec. Def…..or Senator Kerry saluting us at the “04″ convention with “I’m here to serve” then was unwilling to fight voter fraud in Ohio, as Sec. of State, or Obama’s Chicago Univ. republican supply-side economic advisors who believe in privatizing soc. security….there is NO advisor around Obama who speaks for the policies Hillary and we, support.

Having McCain as president with a democratic congress means GRIDLOCK…..and that is the best position to be in if Obama is president.

I am so happy all of us are banding and pulling together. The MSM is FINALLY starting to get it that annointing the messiah so quickly may have caused a little wee backlash problem. It’s amazing that we in the blogosphere are moving so fast to let the DNC know they cannot silence us. THIS is what real democracy is about – the people having their say, using their voices AND their votes… not elections bought and sold by scumbags, weaklings, and crooks would-be power-brokers in the form of SDs. Obama 08 is Bush v2 all over again – a puppet controlled by the power brokers that put him there. I am one who will back Hillary to the death, but if need be, would move to McCain to block the newly annointed puppet Obama in a moment. This country’s heart is full of moderates, centrists, not crazy leftists or religious righties. Clinton spoke strongest to that group, but McCain is right behind her. Let the people speak! And let those clowns SDs learn the hard way – we CAN vote you out! THAT is our power – deal with it! Go against the will of the people and there will be hell to pay!

BO will never bring universal health care. In one of the early debates Hillary told him that his plan will be picked apart (I don’t remember the exact words) if he – as he intends – leaves it to the decision of the people. She is right.

Those who are so affraid of the mandatory universal health care just remember how the mandatory car insurance works. Good drivers, bad drivers, all have to have it. It is a protection for all of us.
