A McCain / Clinton ticket is as delusional as the possibility of a Kerry / McCain ticket was in 2004. Hillary would never run on a republican ticket and McCain would never ask her if she would agree. Bill and Hillary are democrats and he has a legacy to protect. McCain’s running mate will be a far right type to solidify the base. The repubs are as split as the dems are. They also have Bob Barr running on the Libertarian ticket. While not as much of a spoiler as Ron Paul would be, he could cause as much peeling of voters as Ralph Nader.

Wow. Just wow. You’re going to vote to maximize the chance of policies you oppose being enacted because you think McCain is more of a “compromiser.”

I don’t know what to make of this. For months I’ve thought that Obama supporters were in some sort of alternate reality with their anti-Hiliary rants. Now I discover a significant percentage of my compatriots who voted for Hilliary live in a parallel universe where Obama is a “cheat” because his campaign showed a better command of the rules of the nominating process. I’m deeply saddened.

Anyone Clinton supporter who is going to vote for McCain clearly doesn’t care anything about what Clinton stands for: a woman’s right to choose, universal health care, genuine protection of the environment, a more progressive tax code and an end to fiscal insanity, and so on and so forth. All of the substantive arguments McCain leveled against Obama are identical to those he would have leveled against Hilary had she been the nominee.

Hilary understands this. Why can’t some of her supporters? Stop disrespecting her out of spite.

I voted her. I’ll vote for Obama in the general.

I gotta say that I’m so glad that MyDD, Talk Left and others choose to be sided with Obama: “We’re Democrats”. Like a hardcore Hillary supporter, Hilary Rosen, said: “I will enthusiastically support Barack Obama’s campaign. Because I am not a bargaining chip. I am a Democrat.”

Two smart things McCain did with his speech. Painted BO as both megalomaniacal “I don’t seek the presidency on the presumption I’m blessed with such personal greatness that history has anointed me to save my country in its hour of need,” and de-legitimized him “Pundits and party elders have declared that Senator Obama will be my opponent.”

Very astute speech.

Nothing’s stopping you from voting - you have another chance in november. Vote for McCain if you want, its your vote. Just don’t blame anyone else if McCain puts pro-life judges on the Supreme Team.

Breaking News- Sen Clinton is suspending her campaign on friday and endorsing Obama.

I’m not offended. My eyes were opened by the respectful interview Bill O’Reilly gave Hillary Clinton. He argued issue after issue, but treated her as the brilliant adversary she is.
Compare that to Olberman. ( of course we’ve all heard about his little problem).

I care a lot about Hillary.
BO will never bring universal health care. In one of the early debates Hillary told him that his plan will be picked apart (I don’t remember the exact words) if he - as he intends - leaves it to the decision of the people. She is right.

I am so happy all of us are banding and pulling together. The MSM is FINALLY starting to get it that annointing the messiah so quickly may have caused a little wee backlash problem. It’s amazing that we in the blogosphere are moving so fast to let the DNC know they cannot silence us. THIS is what real democracy is about - the people having their say, using their voices AND their votes… not elections bought and sold by ~~scumbags, weaklings, and crooks~~ would-be power-brokers in the form of SDs. Obama 08 is Bush v2 all over again - a puppet controlled by the power brokers that put him there. I am one who will back Hillary to the death, but if need be, would move to McCain to block ~~the newly annointed puppet~~ Obama in a moment. This country’s heart is full of moderates, centrists, not crazy leftists or religious righties. Clinton spoke strongest to that group, but McCain is right behind her. Let the people speak! And let those ~~clowns~~ SDs learn the hard way - we CAN vote you out! THAT is our power - deal with it! Go against the will of the people and there will be hell to pay!

What scares the hell out of me is Obama as prez. with a democratic congress….you know the same congress that has an 18% approval rating.

Or the swooning nut-case Samatha “Hillary is a monster” and “Obama’s ending the war is just campaign talk he doesn’t really mean it.” Powers as foreign relations person or General McPeak, republican defense contractor, dispised by the military as Sec. Def…..or Senator Kerry saluting us at the “04″ convention with “I’m here to serve” then was unwilling to fight voter fraud in Ohio, as Sec. of State, or Obama’s Chicago Univ. republican supply-side economic advisors who believe in privatizing soc. security….there is NO advisor around Obama who speaks for the policies Hillary and we, support.

Having McCain as president with a democratic congress means GRIDLOCK…..and that is the best position to be in if Obama is president.

As a long time Indie ,reflecting back to the 2000 primaries I voted for McCain, that November I voted for Gore.

Given the choices I did not want Bush…

How odd it is that eight years later having voted for Senator Clinton in the CA primaries, it looks like I will be voting for Senator McCain in November unless Clinton is the nominee and BO is no where to be found.
