Barack Punts on Denial of Michelle Tape

If someone was accusing my wife of saying something racist that was not true, and you asked me in public, I would say emphatically and clearly, “it is not true.” So what is Barack’s problem. He was asked about this today and here is his reply:
We have seen this before. There is dirt and lies that are circulated in emails and they pump them out long enough until finally you, a mainstream reporter, asks me about it,” Obama said to the McClatchy reporter during a press conference aboard his campaign plane. “That gives legs to the story. If somebody has evidence that myself or Michelle or anybody has said something inappropriate, let them do it.”
Asked whether he knew it not to be true, Obama said he had answered the question.
Huh? Are you kidding me? If it ain’t true say so.
But when a politician tap dances on nuance–Baby it is true. My sources have not backed off. They maintain they have a tape and will drop it on the Dems in the fall. Now if Barack said, “No, and hell no” I would be wondering about my sources. But he punted. He went for the weasel word. The non-denial denial.
It also is curious that the Obama folks put out the word that Michelle didn’t say “WHITEY”. Nope, according to them she said, “WHY DID HE.” Hmmmm. Why would you put that out if the recording of the event did not exist? Then you have the frantic scrubbing of Trinity websites. How about efforts to check the video files of Chicago TV stations? Stymied. The local ABC station says they will only give up a video if there is a subpoena.
So, sure looks to me that there a recording of Michelle’s racist rant exists in the hands of folks working to help elect McCain. Obama is hoping they won’t use it. But if you call what he said a denial then you yourself are in a state of (denial that is).
I’m just a racist, typical white person…so my opinion doesn’t count, but I think that was not a denial at all.

There is such a gulf of reason between racists and our multicultural reality that is America. To racists Obama is of course black. If the GOP releases it sooner than that, then it won’t have the intended effect of scuttling Obama’s chances in the GE. It’ll just result in what they fear the most: having to go up against Hillary.

I have a hunch he’s bought and paid for the tape to be buried. I also have a hunch he did not bury the only copy. This is not a denial and not and admission. What it suggests however is that they know that Michelle has said something like this, but not sure is the tape exists or not.
Their reasoning might be that ‘if the tape exists, somebody would have produced it by now.’ They don’t calculate the finely oiled republican demolition machinery.
If the Clinton campaign heard of it, it could explain why Hillary doesn’t want to be on the ticket with BO.

It’s also a classic “guilt signature”, as trained investigators know. During an interrogation by an experienced professional, such a lawyerly and artful attempt to parse a denial is the signal that they are on the right track. The reason Kerry did not stand up to those swiftboat attacks was because they were true. I was a lifelong democrat till now, but I am married to a Nam vet who served just below the DMZ at Cua Viet(the farthest north river below the DMZ). He spent two tours there, in a camp taking almost daily artillary fire. He was in three major battles during the tet year of 68,and many other skirmishes where our marines were outnumbered by the NVA by as much as 10 to 1. He was seriously injured twice, but didn’t get his second purple heart, because when they returned to the rear, the hooch(dormitory)next door had been vaporized with the gunny(recordkeeper) inside.Our men prevailed. They won that war, but John Kerry, home after just three months of service because he had three purple hearts for scratches(one of them was refused by his superior, but Kerry applied for it himself after his officer was transfered)was testifying that these brave men still in Nam were baby killers and rapists. John Kerry also went to France and met with the enemy for talks while he was still in the service(treason? Or just the same kind of inflated ego that had Pelosi in Syria?) John Kerry refused to release his DD214, the official form that summerized his military record. Most vets are proud to do so. I have heard that it is because He was originally dishonorably discharged, and that Jimmy Carter changed it to a general discharge. Can that be proven? No, he refused to to release his military record. I believe that some of Kerry’s speeches and testemony were played over the loudspeakers at the Hanoi Hilton. He did not say, nor have I ever heard any defenders say “Michelle would never make such remarks, or Michelle would never say anything like that”, etc.

Is there something about the job of the media they don’t understand?
As somebody who’s worked in a few TV newsrooms around the country, they almost never provide video to anyone without a subpoena. One exception might be national security. I know that within minutes of my broadcast of interviews with eyewitnesses at the scene of the Reagan assasination attempt, two Secret Service agents came to the TV station and asked for the tape. The station gladly gave them a copy without a subpoena.
One other note on this, TV stations mostly archive what video has been broadcast. The out-takes are rarely kept.
Some should ask Obama to please ask ABC 7 for the tape to show there is nothing there. Why a subpoena? Is the video “confidential” ? What are they protecting? It makes NO sense ABC 7 would say that. If there is nothing why not simply saying;
(a) Ms Obama never spoke; there is no speech by her there.
Or
(b) we don’t have any recordings of the event?
And if Ms Obama did speak, then
(c) why not release the tape so that this is settled once and for all?
