I think if the old Kennedy faction “won” the nomination, their operatives should focus strictly on registering new voters night & day in hopes of replacing those of us in the mass exodus if they have any hopes of winning whatsover. I don’t know if NCLB is responsible for their inability to think critically, learn from history, or to do math, or if their new math just matches their dismal new politics.

If when Kerry decided not to pursue the vote fraud in Ohio, in particular, after soliciting several million dollars for a Legal Defense Fund that never materialized (how many hundreds of millions of dollars does THK, widow of Republican John Heinz, have again? And isn’t John Kerry on the top ten list in the Senate for $$$$ investments (profit) made off the war? I think Richsez popped some breathtaking statistics in here about a month ago & Kerry made that list- so shocking) he negotiated a Dem win or a Republican pass on 2008, and they have some control over the machines, or John McCain will be helped to implode or not nurtured along, that’s another story.

I don’t know what to say. Every election comes down to this one way or the other & normally you could count on some grumbling but a coming together. I don’t think that is the case here. There’s certainly been something unique about this one. To me, the – apparatus? of the Democratic Party has proven beyond the shadow of a doubt that it is every bit as craven, shameless, power hungry, nasty & short sighted as their peers across the aisle.

Personally I have no plans other than popping popcorn & watching the rest of this sad farce unfold. Dorma had a great great post awhile ago I should have saved- about- We’re Democrats, we leave, we storm off, we kiss & make up, we take a stand, we return… blah blah blah but this is different. There ain’t no “D” after my name on my voter registration after this one. I’m moving next week so I may as well wait until I get settled & change my driver’s license, etc. otherwise I would literally do it today. I already looked into doing it online.

I came into the Democratic Party because of vote fraud & because I had extraordinary interest in national security & fp, particularly after 9/11 & because we need to do something about health care. This turn of events would be laughable if it weren’t so deeply frightening.

Perhaps it is true that most of the same people will ultimately be involved on the Dem side administratively, but my trust has been abused & now is broken.

I’m an Obama supporter, but I would’ve gladly supported Hillary if she’d won the nominating contest. Like Hillary, he comes from a modest background, went to good schools, and has worked his whole life to make life better for the people around him. That my candidate won actually makes me sad, because between two history-making candidates, only one of them can go on to the general election to knock the Republicans out of the White House.

It’s amazing how many people are involved in this election. This is truly no ordinary presidential contest.

As a life-long Democrat and activist, I am so upset at Howard Dean. He has desroyed our party.
Under the Dem. rules, “Uncommitted” go to the convention Uncommitted. The Rules committee awarded the votes as Uncommitted to be given to Obama. This is a violation of the rules (speaking of Michigan).

The Sample ballot in Michigan says right on the ballot “Instructions: For the office of President, you may vote for candidate or you may vote “Uncommitted”…Write-In To vote for a candidate whose name is not printed on the ballot, write or place the name of that candidate
in the blank space provided …”

How could the Rules commitee break the rules?

Also, Obama advertised in a National TV buy that covered Florida, IN VIOLATION OF THE RULES. He should be SANCTIONED, according to the rules and GET NO DELEGATES FROM FLORIDA.

Zero Delegates from Mich and Florida for Obama as called for in the Rules.

The Rules committee and the Supreme Court are picking our leaders, not the voters.

That is HILarious!! And they are serious about the unity – duh, they own idiocy!

Can reasonable people here see that Michigan and FLorida was a total mess, and that it was not in fact fair to credit the delegates at full-strength according to the vote?

Sure, the outcome was unfortunate, but it was caused by FL and MI flouting the process, where the results were VERY CLEAR.

This is not an issue of voting rights; this is an issue of party rules that were seriously compromised by two states hoping to promote themselves above everyone else….

Reasonable disagreement anyone?
