Will the Race Card Continue to Trump Issues?

In the end, the Democratic primary seemed to revolve around race, race-baiting and labeling. Anyone not for Barack Obama is a racist and anyone for anyone else is a racist. Entire groups of people were labeled and discussed and dissected as to the virulence of their supposed racism.

Of course, by the time West Virginia, Kentucky and Puerto Rico voted, there were several valid questions about BO’s church, his attendance there for 20 years and the juvenile, unintelligent rantings by various “leaders” Obama claimed as “spiritual advisors.” No matter though. These people who voted for someone else must have been racist. Nothing else explains it. It’s not as if these voters were insulted and ignored. Oh wait, they were – oh snap. Well, they should have understood their limitations and understood that despite what their lying eyes and ears were telling them, Obama really cares about them and their issues. Heh.

Well, the primaries are done and now the presumptive Democratic nominee will face the RNC machine. This should be interesting for many reasons, but will the BO campaign try to slap down the race card in this match-up? How will the campaign play it? Will it be through surrogates, Michelle, bloggers, print or tv? Or some other way?

In today’s Wall Street Journal, Juan Williams has an op-ed piece suggesting the Obama campaign put away the race card. Williams talks about Wright, Pfleger, that “amazing” speech when Obama said he could not “disown” Wright and what Obama now needs to do. Williams actually says perhaps OBAMA should give another speech and:

admit to sins of using race for political expediency – by knowingly buying into divisive, mean messages being delivered from the pulpit.

Williams calls Obama out, gently, for use of the race card. But is anyone listening? Somehow, given Obama’s resume, I think the card is still in play. What else has he got, after all?

To deal with this controversy effectively, Mr. Obama needs to give another speech. This time he has to admit to sins of using race for political expediency – by knowingly buying into divisive, mean messages being delivered from the pulpit. He has to say that, as a biracial young man with no community roots, attaching himself to Rev. Wright and the Trinity congregation was a shortcut to move up the ladder in the Chicago political scene. He has to call race-baiting what it is, whether it comes from a pulpit or calls itself progressive politics. And he has to challenge his supporters, especially his black base, to be honest about real problems at the heart of today’s racial divide – including out-of-wedlock births, crime, drugs and a culture that devalues education while glorifying the gangster life.

Mr. Obama also has to raise the bar for how political criticism is handled in his camp. Step one is to acknowledge that not every critic is a racist. His very liberal record and his limited experience, like his association with Rev. Wright, is a fact, not the work of white racists. Just as he calls for the GOP not to engage in the politics of fear over terrorism, Mr. Obama needs to declare that he will refrain from playing the racial victim, because he understands such tactics will paralyze political debate and damage race relations.

I’m deeply afraid for my country. No, not because of Barack Obama.

Because of the truly sad display of hate that is laid out here for all to see — each and every day.

Comment by Patricia | 2008-06-06 11:39:13

Why is it people like you are so upset when any thing is said about Sen Obama, but Hillary was constantly attacked by many of his supporters and that is fine. no I’m afaid for my country when we
are told who we should vote for!!!

Comment by tootsky | 2008-06-06 16:34:22

Except when you are telling people who to vote for.

And Obama can talk about how he used a specific political structure when every other politician does the same thing, from AIPAC to Wall Street to the Dixie Mafia to the defense lobby, all of which are far more dangerous than a radical Black church.

And how about the hate it has been display for 20 years in front of Obama by Wright, Farrakhan, Pfleger and Meeks? How about the hate and vile it has been spew out of the mouths of the punks at MSNBC, the so faux “progressive”
bloggers and commenters ? How about the pool of hate, misogyny, anti-semitism and class-warfare that has been instilled spew and encouraged by all those infatuated with BO ?

If you are serious you are incredibly blind and naive. Otherwise take your sanctimonious, disingenuous and insulting comment somewhere else where they might care.

Um, is there something specific about the post with which you disagree…you know, a substantive issue maybe? Or have you just been sent here to be the first one to comment, and to say vapid things like “this is pathetic”?

Are you saying Obama did not exploit race to get the nomination?

What exactly are you saying?

Comment by tootsky | 2008-06-06 16:38:30

It is only exploitation if you apply the logic across the board. A lot of people are called misogynist for not supporting Hillary. Are you denying that Hillary exploited gender? Are you denying that John McCain expoloited participating in a genocidal war? Every politician exploits personal attributes. Obama was right to do so.

I’ve admired the Black Agenda Report for some time now. They are well informed and ’spot on’. And I’m heartened to know that the African-American community has a lot of courageous people willing to speak out against the torrent of misinformation and hate Obama has inspired.

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-06-06 11:57:16

Oh thanks for the acknowledgement, Heather. It’s very radical, yes. But it’s not like Wright popped out of nowhere. I enjoy their blog immensely and look forward to their Wednesday posts.

They have a LOT to say, too, about Obama and how he’s nothing more than a weak figurehead for the AA community.

Now, I never post there. I’m certain they wouldn’t like this moderate white voice. *haha

But I do like the intelligence behind this true progressive movement.

Boy, they give the Obama gang hell, too, over calling his campaign a “movement.” They are so on the money about that. Movement indicates some principle or driving thought. There IS none in his campaign.

If you have time, peruse the comment section. It’s really good, too. There are some very bright folks blogging there.

Oh, and they turned down money from both Hillary and Obama. They are another blog that insists upon remaining independent.

Do you know, I have never heard of Black Nationalism and I’m black, lol! I am going to have to study up on this and find out what’s going on. I have not attended church in a few years, but that was not what my pastor was preaching at all, his sermons were very traditional and bible based, which is what most of the black baptist churches were following, bible based theology. These teachings are not something I could get behind, and there is no way in the world I could attend a church like that. None. Boyfriend went to that church because of the things those people could do for him, it was the “church” to go to for someone up and coming, and that choice has cost him. The race card is not the only problem I have with Obama. There are just too many things piled on top of each other for me to ever vote for this man, even though he could become the first black president of this nation. It has nothing to do with his blackness, but his ability to lead and govern, which I don’t believe he has at all. He’s never lead or governed anything at all, and that is a scary fact. No, nothing this man says or does could make me vote for him, so he can just do as he pleases, which I am sure he will.

An almost comical farce in which the Mainstream Media, along with the ideological Left fringes within the Democratic Party have decided AHEAD OF TIME, who should become President of the United States. Slogans and a Big Smile Won’t Unify the Democrats

I remember how Barack Obama promoted unity in the Democratic Party, way back when it really mattered.

When Bill Clinton was slandered as a racist, for recalling that Jesse Jackson had won the Democratic primary in South Carolina once or twice…

I remember Barack Obama’s thunderous denunciation of this ridiculous character assassination!

“Do you idiots think the KKK marches down the street chanting “Jesse Jackson won the South Carolina primary!” Do you idiots think white supremacists denigrate black people by screaming “Jesse Jackson won the South Carolina primary!” Enough of this abject hate-mongering! I don’t play “gotcha” politics! I’m Barack Obama!”

Barack Obama would never send surrogates out to do his dirty work and pretend to be totally innocent himself, the way George W. Bush sent surrogates out to do his dirty work and pretended to be totally innocent himself, so…

That’s why we have a unified party today, and there isn’t one chance in a million that we could lose to John McCain in the general election!

But if Barack Obama had run the most racially divisive campaign in the history of the Democratic Party, and encouraged every sleazy rumor about Hillary Clinton that his army of fanatics could dredge up, then we would really be in the kind of trouble that a big smile and a few slogans can’t fix.

Senator Obama, you made claims that many people in 2006 in the Democratic Party were pressuring you to run for POTUS. If this is so, name them, give the American people who have a right to know a list of these people, allowing Americans a fair decidssion come election day as to who has “good judgement” in pressuring an feeble 150 day US Senator, coming from being a part time 60 day/yr State Senator to run for POTUS?

Race baiting is Obama’s ace in the hole. He’ll never give that up.

Comment by Jeremiah God Damn AmeriKKKa Wright | 2008-06-06 12:55:00

Race baiting is equivalant to emotional abuse.

By claiming that your opposition is somehow a result of racism, your point of view is convicted as guilt by association.

Calling someone a whore carries with it all the baggage tht one associates with a prostitute on a street corner.

Its an ad hominem attack. The same with calling someone a racist, or implying that they are because they dont agree with you.

Obama and his campaign have waged with their race baiting, the most unethical dirty and insidious campaign in american history.

Its tantamount to claiming you are a hitler sympathizer in a jewish election.

It doesnt matter if its true, all that matters is the scepter of this vile imagery raises its head and puts your opponent on the defensive.

Thats incredibly disgusting and rotten.

Comment by D | 2008-06-07 10:57:15

You’re incredibly right. A few days ago, when I was discussing with one of my friends (who happens to be black himself) about my preference for Hillary, we got into quite a heated argument.

A few minutes later, after I’d pressed my case that Obama just isn’t qualified enough, he starts telling me how ignorant and selfish I am that I could do this and ‘divide’ the party. Oh, and then he starts telling me how Obama has a great chance to be the first black president. To which I reiterate my belief that he just doesn’t have the experience.

So, my friend realises he’s not getting anywhere with his argument and decides to call me a “racist a**”.

At the time, I was so upset that my ‘friend’ could call me that. Now I realise he really isn’t worthy of being my friend, even though he probably said it on the spur of the moment. However, still today, about 4 days since he called me it, I have this inner feeling of disgust in myself. I have to remind myself as often as I can that there really is no reason to feel like that. I don’t think he realised the hurt it causes.

I’m sorry if I don’t like Obama, but it’s got nothing to do with race for me.

P.S. I should probably also mention that he called me a “psycho Hill-bot” in that same argument, and told me around 4 months ago that I only support Hillary because I’m “white and gay”. Can we say double standards?!

Israpundit.com posted today that what Obama told AIPAC was a lie and “said what the Jews wanted to hear..”

As reported by the Jerusalem Post Obama said at AIPAC: “Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel, and it must remain undivided.”

However under apparent pressure from the Muslim community in less than 48 hours that statement was severely modified by an advisor: “Jerusalem is a final status issue, which means it has to be negotiated between the two parties” as part of “an agreement that they both can live with.”

“Two principles should apply to any outcome,” which the adviser gave as: “Jerusalem remains Israel’s capital and it’s not going to be divided by barbed wire and checkpoints as it was in 1948-1967.”

He refused, however, to rule out other configurations, such as the city also serving as the capital of a Palestinian state or Palestinian sovereignty over Arab neighborhoods.

“Beyond those principles, all other aspects are for the two parties to agree at final status negotiations,” the Obama adviser said.

As you can imagine this has already caused an uproar among Israelis and the Jewish community, except, of course, for that lightweight Congressman Wexler who would sooner sell his soul to the devil than have the courage of any convictions. Wexler is a Jew only in name and his support of Obama over Hillary has been disgraceful. This is further proof of this folly.

Are you aware that the Israeli govt. has proposed a division of Jerusalem in its negotiations with the PA?

Obama was correct that the status of Jerusalem is an issue to be resolved between Israel and Palestinians, not the US govt., nor by AIPAC.

Why do you confuse the position of the Israeli government with the position of Hamas?

Comment by Linda | 2008-06-06 11:52:03

He sure does a lot of that, doesn’t he? Just say what people want to hear, not what he’ll actually do.

Until push comes to shove and he has to disclose what he will do, like throwing anyone under the bus who stands in his way of the ultimate end game for him.

Just like Ms Powers. I still say it wasn’t her being found out for placing those stories of calling HIllary a Monster, it was the leak that Obama will not use his “end the war” policy from his campaign and will instead come up with a different plan once he’s in the Oval Office. Then his other advisor showing Obama planned on having half the amount of troops still there in Iraq 2 years later.

I guess Axelrod was right, they cemented the vision of Obama, and no matter what he did at this stage, it wouldn’t hurt the character they created. Well, it did, as the later elections showed, with the huge stompings.

Comment by Andy | 2008-06-06 12:17:04

Williams actually says perhaps OBAMA should give another speech and:

admit to sins of using race for political expediency – by knowingly buying into divisive, mean messages being delivered from the pulpit.

Juan Williams is an eloquent writer/speaker. I would like to have heard him say that Obama should not have won the nomination and does not deserve the most esteemed position in the land, due to his racism and race baiting and misogyny. Sen. Obama, his wife and his minister have already damaged race relations in this country.

I will never even get past seeing him as just a ‘finger flipper’.

Comment by Heather | 2008-06-06 11:39:37

Obama is incapable of putting away his divisive race tricks. For several reasons:

1. He & David Axelrod have used them before. Axelrod used them to get Deval Patrick elected in MA. Obama used them in Chicago. They’re both addicted to them now.

2. He knows that it’s the only leverage he actually has against any opponent at the national level, lacking as he does experience and any real ability to lead or govern.

3. Threats of race riots work, even among the most conservative voters. His proxies used those threats freely in the primary, and you can bet your bottom dollar they will use them again in the GE.

I see ugly times ahead.

Comment by rwc | 2008-06-06 11:39:52

Barky can play the race card all he wants, but it only works against Democrats who have drunk the multicultural, politically correct kool-aid. Against Republicans and conservative leaning independents, those folks will just laugh at the DNC/Progressive/Obama race baiting machine.

Comment by db | 2008-06-06 11:40:50

The problem with Obama becoming our next president, & I think he most likely will, is that he will get a pass on whatever he does because he is black. We already know the msn doesn’t report news, they make it.
The voices of this country will be silenced because any criticism of him will follow with the word “racist”.

The irony (and there has been a lot of it lately)is that he could care less about black people. He’s an opportunist.

Hillary Clinton was shoved aside for the inept black man. His race was a huge factor in this. Her gender was a huge factor in being shoved aside.

Comment by charge | 2008-06-06 11:41:29

Hillary and Barack are both outstanding candidates.
I don’t think the number of Hillary supporters switching allegiance to McCain will outnumber those who maintain their support for Clinton by joining her in support for the democratic nominee.

Comment by SFHillary | 2008-06-06 11:56:09

The number of Hillary supporters who go on to vote for McCain will be utterly miniscule compared to the number of Hillary supporters who either sit out or vote for Obama. McCain’s platform is the absolute opposite of Clinton’s. He’s a conservative Republican warmonger who is against absolutely everything Hillary stands for. Any vote for McCain by a Hillary supporter is, in my opinion, beneath contempt. It’s a suicide vote.

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-06-06 12:35:49

See, I suspect I’m cynical. When people are disappointed that the ideals aren’t upheld, I think they vote their pocketbooks.

Obama is going to raise your taxes.

McCain won’t.

I think it will come down to that.

Comment by Mad Vlad | 2008-06-06 11:56:20

Let’s do some basic 6th grade math.

HRC took 18.0 mill votes.

Let us say that 20% of those dis-affected voters leave for
McCain or other. Polls have shown btw/ 10-30%. Some
as in WV and KY have been as high as 40%.

.20 * 18mill = 3.6mill

That’s not a number to sneeze at. Now, apply some of these numbers
to PA, OH and MI. Flip 100K votes from the 2004 result in PA where
the poor fools cling to God and guns and you have a RED STATE. Pad the 2004 result from OH w/ only net 50K votes and you have a RED STATE. Now, flip several hundred thousand dis-affected and dis-enfranchised voters in MI to the 2004 result and you have a RED STATE.

Yaaa, I know, Barky will make it up from all those repub crossovers
and all those young uns.

Comment by SFHillary | 2008-06-06 12:08:02

Last I read, something like 500,000 new voters turned 18 in PA between 04 and this November. Maybe 70% of them will vote Obama. I’m sorry, Hill was my 1st choice and I haven’t even decided whether I can vote for Mr. (In)Experience, but you folks are delusional if you think there’s going to be some massive uprising of Democrats voting for McCain’s 100 Year War in Iraq. Obama has proved, over and over, that he can bring in TONS of new voters. And yes, our girl stomped his ass but good with a certain range of blue-collar voter, but most of those good folks are Democrats, with Democratic ideals. Personally, I think Obama’s going to win this election, and easily.

That’s why McGovern and Dukakis thought. This is not the first time at this rodeo. Look how well it worked out for them. In fact, McGovern registered the most young ones of all of them. All those baby boomers! The size of youth today is a trickle compared to their size. Look how well that worked out for him. Same story, different year.

Comment by beebop | 2008-06-06 12:19:42

Actually the “Millennial Generation” is three times as large as the Baby Boomers. Which makes sense when you consider that the average Boomer couple has 2 or 3 kids and there’s been a ton of immigration since then.

Not all of this new generation is old enough to vote yet, but a lot of them are over 18. The Millennials are an enormous group, much larger than the Boomers. And they are VERY liberal. The Republicans might not win many elections for the next couple decades.

Please explain to me how a Marxist, socialist racist is an outstanding candidate to be an American President.

Comment by SFHillary | 2008-06-06 12:17:14

He’s a Marxist *and* a socialist? That’s a neat trick, considering that they are different ideologies. But please feel free to show me any quote of Obama’s, ever, that demonstrates that he’s a socialist or a marxist. Anything. Even one will do.

As for the racism thing — he’s half-white himself, I think the accusation is absurd. His campaign was not above playing on some of that stuff, but then again neither was HRC’s. That’s politics.

I dunno, came on here to see what people are saying. Hill was my first choice, and I wish Obama had waited 8 or 16 years when he was more seasoned. But I have to say, a lot of what I’m reading here is kinda nuts. To me, Bush, Nixon, Reagan were scumbag Republicans who broke the law constantly and were primarily out for the rich. HRc, Obama, Bill, Gore, Edwards, Kerry — these are all mainstream Democrats with simliar values. I’m not a big Obama fan, but the view of him I’m reading here is simply not rational.

Comment by jessie | 2008-06-06 12:48:06

Don’t act like the stupid elite Obama/Marxist you are ass. SFHillary you do not deserve to use her name.

The modern socialist movement largely originated in the late-19th century working class movement. During this period, the term “socialism” was first used by European social critics, who spoke against capitalism and private property. Karl Marx, who helped establish and define the modern socialist movement, wrote that socialism would be the socioeconomic system that arises after the proletarian revolution.[2]

Michelle Obama/Marxist wants a piece of your pie to SFHillary.

Please go away and leave us alone.

I “don’t deserve to use her name?” As if she’s a queen or something? But it’s Obama’s people who are the idolators?

Comment by jessie | 2008-06-06 13:20:03

Why would you use her name if you support Obama/Marxist?

Do you think he would quote verbatim Marxist quotes? We know his handlers would never allow that.

Do you think we are suppose to believe what you say that “SOCIALIST AND MARXIST ARE VERY DIFFERENT TODAY”. Yeah, they are they disguise themselves as Blacks playing on white guilt to get them elected to the White House.

There are so many examples of Obama/Marxist in his books, campaign, organizing techniques, the list goes on.

But the simple explanation:

If it walks like a duck …

Go away with your “better than you attitude” You are not wanted here but Larry is not like dailyidiots where he bans people for speaking their truths.

I wish he would tho because you are a waste of bandwidth.

Do you expect us not to come to the defense of people here that you try to belittle.

F*k you go back to your cushy little troll home.

People like you make me want to answer the email from McCain asking to take two months out of my life to campaign.

You see, asshole, I would be voting and campaigning AGAINST Obama/Marxist for oh so many reasons and don’t even try the war or roe v. wade crap.

There is so much more at stake in this election. We will not be bought by George Soros or whoever the f*k is behind your boy/man. There is someone behind that empty suit and it is not just his young followers. You are an idiot to believe that.

Comment by SFHillary | 2008-06-06 13:35:43

I took this name because HRC was my first choice in the Democratic primary. I don’t know what the hell your definition of a “troll” is; to me, it’s someone who doesn’t believe what they say, but is just trying to stir up trouble. Well, I believe everything I say. For instance, when I say I haven’t seen you give any actual evidence that Obama is a Marxist/socialist (I’ll admit that you are kind of right in asserting that they are more or less the same thing — they’re two elements of an essentially crazy and wrong-headed ideology), I mean that. If you cannot provide any evidence or reason for believing that Obama is a socialist, why do you assert it? On the one hand you talk about how corrupt he is, how tied up with old-school Democratic Party influence peddlars, which is all very capitalist — but then you also assert that he’s a Marxist? You do realize that this is completely incoherent?

As for your assertion that this is about blacks preying on white guilt to get elected: I’m just not going to address that. I’m sure a certain percentage of Americans actually believe this and think this way. It’s sad. Thankfully, fewer and fewer people still think this way with each new generation.

As for voting for McCain: that is disgusting. Go work for McCain. There will be a few thousand idiots like you who do so. The Republicans will be laughing at you behind your back. HRC and her team, while grateful no doubt for your support, will be shuddering with fear at your insanity. Your numbers are highly unlikely to win the Bush GOP a third term, thank god. Just stop pretending you have anything to do with progressive or liberal values. You don’t. And you don’t have anything to do with the values that HRC stands for, that attracted me to her and to her husband in the 90s. The Clintons are good solid brilliant hardworking moderate-to-liberal Democrats. You people are not. I don’t know what the hell you are, but you aren’t liberal, or progressive, or Democratic.

Comment by SFHillary | 2008-06-06 13:41:01

PS: I forgot to address your Hamas line. That was particularly ugly. For the record, I’m Jewish, with lots of family in Israel. You only think there are not numbers out there willing to go thru 4 years of McCain to keep your boy/man out of the White house – there are millions.

No American president has ever been so chummy with Islam like your beloved one. The people behind him do have an agenda. You just do not want to accept the fact that there are people who are willing to do anything to undermine America.

Go away we do not go to dailyidiot or huffpo to post. You picked your “winner” go be with the other people supporting him.

I think it’ll be a wash. 30% leave. He’s added 30%.

So he’s not moved the Democratic Party ahead. He’s just switched players.

I personally think it was a bad bargain, because we old ladies are the gals who suit up and show up and do the real work. I think his urban youth will let the party down. One actual investigation supports that idea. The voters didn’t even bother to vote down-ticket.

They had one and only one purpose……vote for him.

But whatever….it’s the party’s problem at this point. They are entranced by his grassroots efforts, which I don’t think is born out by results. In states where party machines actually exist, I think he’ll have trouble. Just as he did in PA, Ohio, etc.

These are states that operate off of a system, and he never cracked that nut. His grassroots stuff works in Red states. Who cares?

So we’ll see, but I think he’ll miss we ole’ broads.

Hillary will do her chirpy best to get us on board, but it’s a bit like a bad marriage. One day, “he” went too far, and there was no taking it back.

That’s where we’re at today, in my opinion.

This sad state of affairs is OK by me, frankly. When Indiana didn’t come through big-time for Hillary, I knew. The country is in a bit of a shock state with the economy, war, etc.

They haven’t yet moved into action and solutions.

She was the solutions candidate. But it requires a country ready to kick in for her candidacy to carry weight.

He’s the do-nothing guy who looks good.

Another 4 years of gas price hikes should do the trick.

Then, maybe we’ll be ready for a solutions candidate.

It has nothing to do with what HE “STATES” he will do.

I don’t believe him in “general” as he’s been caught in enough fibs already

My biggest concern is (and has always been) the fact he’s a whipped puppy to a HOSTILE black lib woman who gained much through the back door thanks to her husbands friends and donations to her hospital and to their own home

it’s slimy and it’s PRESENT and it’s a -30- to the story that is BHO and MO and their friends and associates and their chances of taking over in place of gwSCREWUP

IF Hillary is offered the VP and takes it? She’d better be watching her back 24/7. They will stab her in the back (maybe not literally) at the first chance!

that’s MY feeling
none can change it

Whatever. I’m glad you hideous human beings are leaving the Democratic Party. And don’t pretend your numbers are millions. They aren’t. Your numbers are tiny and your influence neglible. You’re just sitting around online deriving a pathetic sense of personal satisfaction from your shared hatred of the guy who beat HRC. I posted this in the wrong post so sorry for the repeat:

My husband is on business further down south today. I am telling you if Obama/Marxist has some crazy idea that they are going to take Georgia, Mississippi and North Carolina based on their high turnout of blacks well, from what he is hearing from business associates. They better start bringing them in from Obama/Marxist counsin Odinga’s neighborhood because there will be high turnout of whites and these people are not filled with white guilt.

What part of just because we are from the south does not mean we belong to racist groups don’t you understand Obama/Marxist camp made a real mistake when they try to paint people from the south as racist. There are so many people in the south that would vote for a black person. But, I can tell you there are so many southerners who are livid at the way Obama/Marxist has played the race card against them.

Do you think we have not heard that shit for most of our lives? I and many other southerners are sick of it and out of protest so many will come out and vote. Do you think we are all just sitting around looking at our cotton crops saying “Sure wish we had us some of those negroes to do our picking.”

No, we don’t feel that way. But, I will tell you that we bring workers from Mexico on the H2A program thru the Department of Labor. We have 40 workers who come for 10 months and leave for 2. We have to provide federally inspected housing (which is more than Obama/Marxist buddy Resko did in Chicago) We pay way over minimum wage, provide insurance, electrity everything. We do it the legal way and it will be the future of agriculture because it is the fair way. We are required by law to advertise for American workers. Do you want to know how many show up? None. So for blacks to think Latinos are taking their jobs. I can assure you the blacks do not even come to apply.

Why do we participate and hire people from Mexico? Because they do come to this country for a better living. The majority of them come here and work hard. We have had some of the same families working for us for years. They save their money and bring themselves up helping their other family members.

I totally respect all the Latinos and immigrants who come to this country and are successful because they work hard and save their money.

Do we all have to have the latest new shoes? New cell phone? It is amazing to me when I see someone in the store using food stamps and they are constantly texting on their new latest cell phone. Don’t get me wrong I totally agree with programs to help people get on their feet and would love to see universal day care and health care.

But I am sick of the victim mentality of alot of blacks. This is what I do not like about the Black Liberation Theology and Obama/Marxist’s attendence at that church. Black Liberation is all about being the victim of whites.

In case Obama/Marxist camp has not been down south in some time cuz we know West Virginia and Kentucky were just too redneck for them and beneath them, I suggest you come on down and see that we actually work, have businesses, associates with all colors of people and most importantly VOTE.

We will trump your race card with a landslide victory in November.

We will remember how a person who spouts “change” really wants to keep things in the past so he can become the affirmative action candidate and the president for no other reason than the DNC wants to act like they have come so far.

Colin Powell never raises the race card. He would have been a real great “black” man instead of this Obama/Marxist and I don’t agree with Colin Powell politics but I respect him so much more than our current nominee.

If you want to call me racist, go ahead. I only speak truth from where I am and you have already called me every foul thing there is to say.

We are proud American farmers from small town and we will not forget your behavior Obama/Marxist.

I agree, the South has gotten a raw deal. The South, more than any other part of the country (I live in the SF Bay and have seen the difference) has whole communities of African-Americans living totally middle class lives. PTA, little league, ice cream social, doctor, lawyer, mercedes in the driveway, the whole bit. Come out here to SF and you’ll see your classic ghetto and some pretty sad situations with crime and lack of education. The South is 10 times better, and in fact lots of Blacks have moved back there for that very reason. But you’ll never hear about that from the BLT preachers. Just as you said, they’re all about the past. And they do it for one reason: it makes them rich. The inner-city disaffected pour money into the church coffers and the preacher gets a nice million-dollar home in a gated community.

rwc – I disagree. Here is how it goes down. Obama’s people go to the media outlets and say something like this: “CNN, how would you like a nice race riot outside your Atlanta headquarters? Atlanta is, what, 60% African-American.”
“NBC, CBS, how about a nice Watts-style incident in the lobby of your Burbank studios?” “How about Oprah walking off the set?” Once the media are in line, the American sheeple (as we’ve seen in the primaries) follow. What else can they do when the media are feeding them a steady diet of lies?

Comment by Uppity | 2008-06-06 12:13:08

Oprah is a media person, it’s how she became a billionaire, bless her. SHe’s not walking off of a set. She has disappeared from Obama’s side for a reason, and that reason is her tanking numbers. She knows where her bread is buttered and has felt the sting of angry Typical White Women, who happen to be her audience.

I think the Riot idea is Great! I hope there are lots of them! I love the race card as I mentioned elsewhere. It stimulates more people to run to the polls to get rid of Obama. ANd if it gets too out of hand, I do hope someone reminds them that, while they are “Recreating 68,” when things get out of hand, the National Guard tends to pay a visit. The thing is the Democrats have been labeling Republicans and conservatives in general as racist scum for years.

As a result they have stopped listening to those who scream charges of ‘racism’ at them. Especially the MSM.

As to the threat of riots. Let the AA’s try it in Los Angeles and they’ll find themselves facing lots of angry gun wielding whites and hispanics should the AA’s break through police lines. And don’t even consider doing a riot in Florida, Texas or Colorado.

Hell the AA’s can’t even bully a grocery store. A few months here in Southern CA, a grocery store security guard caught a two AA teenage girls shop lifting. And like good AA’s they immediately screamed racism and accused the rent-a-cop of breaking their bones.(which were false). The local AA community rallied to the girls side.

Then bling master and guru of shakedowns Al Sharpton parachutes in to extort money from the grocery store and city hall.

Well it didn’t work, it was exposed as bald face extortion attempt. Sharpton went back to his mansion empty handed.

Jesse Jackson(another AA who makes his living extorting money from white owned businesses and politicians) and his goons tried a similar thing years earlier when he and his goons dropped by to extort money out our town mayor for some imagined slight and was basically laughed out of town.

The thing is the AA threat of violence doesn’t work any more if you stand up to their bullying.

Call their bluff.

I hear what you are saying but it is not quite (looking for the right words here)…it is not a just thing to imply the blanket covers all AA’s.

I cannot vote for Obama under any circumstances. I have lost respect for the entire Democratic Party for supporting someone who has ties with corruption in Illinois. His name should be Barack Corruption Obama.

I still don’t understand anyone voting for him. Sometimes I feel like I am in the twilight zone when I hear the media and bloggers go on and on about how great he is. What am I missing????????????? Change – you bet more corruption than this country has ever seen.

The DNC still doesn’t understand, I am not sure Clinton really gets it. Yes, I am a Clinton supporter, but this is not about her and sour grapes this is about Obama.

In 20004 121 million of a possible 200 million voted, 60% of the possible voting public.

Ratios show a few things, first, Black’s maxed out in Democratic favor in ‘04.
Females slight edge to Kerry, that will not be the case in ‘08.
Increase in new voters in ‘04 was actually higher than those brought in by Obama in ‘08 as 2000 vs 2004 saw an increase of 20% in voter turn out!
Blacks also represent 11% of the pop Over 65 represnts 12%, Hispanics 15% and PR and ever other Latino pop clearly made statements in support against Obama!
Defection by Clinton Democrats by estimation will be around 6 to 10% requiring Obama to find 12 to 20% new voters and impossible task to say the least! Democrats for a day are not going to vote Obama and as vetting continues on Obama, more independants will side with McCain!
So wait till 2012 idiot DNC’s and good bye Dean!

Welcome POTUS John McCain!

Mel, penny bet that this number is between 15 and 20%.

The reason I say this is the upward trend on people leaving the Dem’s for Indie or Undeclared status AND the ubber high negitives BO will have by Nov 4.

15 % of 18 mil + Indies; 3 to 5 million votes for MMcCain he would otherwise not have gotten.

It sounds like Juan was given the assignment: Write an article detailing how Obama can win despite all his negatives. So Mr. Williams had to come up with something. I usually agree with Juan, but this is lame. Obama can only go backward by backpeddling. He’s now claimed not to realize what his pastors and mob pal were doing, and, if the whitey dvd surfaces, I guess he’ll claim he didn’t know it about Michelle either.
It took another black guy to talk about payback–the phenom that many whites fear from powerful blacks. This is almost always a groundless fear, but in the case of what’s now transpiring–all the ethnocentrism from not only preachers but cheering congregations and voter blocs–many people probably see it just around the bend.
If anyone imagines for an instant that the RNC won’t race bait with BO–think again!! They’ve been doing it since 1964. It’s called the Southern Strategy, and it works. And this time, they don’t even have to create Willie-Horton ads. They can just play back the words of BO and his cohorts.

Comment by kevin | 2008-06-06 12:30:07

Well said.
Some time ago I wrote about the ad that will come out called “Twenty Years” it will have Wright saying ‘god damn america’, pfleger saying ‘I’m white! I’m entitled!’
In whatever form it comes in, it will work

Juan Williams is exactly right! It would be the smartest move Obama could do and might save the election for him!

Comment by nickoury | 2008-06-06 12:25:22

Do you honestly think BO is going to admit to any of the points Juan Williams raised?

I love when they use the Race Card. People are already rolling their eyes when they see another person pull it out of his ass on TV. I hope they use it every single day, because by November, white people will be tripping over each other to get to the polls to get rid of Barky. Seriously. I Love when they pull that card out of their ass to avoid answering a question. Oh please, Obama, have more of your surrogates go on TV as often as possible.

The only people talking black and black and black and racist and racist is Obama and his supporters and the media (Pravda). It isn’t about black or racist. I don’t care how they report it. No vote for Obama the corrupt and anti-American terrorist lover. I too will never forgive the finger he gave Hillary. Such a dud. Hillary or McCain. Voters have to think of America first, then their party.

LisaB makes you wonder..for maybee a second or two.

Mr. Obama needs to declare that he will refrain from playing the racial victim, because he understands such tactics will paralyze political debate and damage race relations.

The damage is done. He started it. He Played it. And he OWNS it. No redo’s.

Comment by silver fox | 2008-06-06 12:14:51

the race card is quite a bit on the tattered side, bit worn and smudged around the edges with obamacamp fingerprints.pretty soon not gonna work anymore. uh oh…

of course this will all come back at obama with big bitey marks aimed at the sitting down area of said presumptive candidate… the very astute perspective today over at blackagendareport.com was truly worth reading and learning from. obama has indeed played both sides against the middle and now must answer for the folly. fact is, he knew exactly what he was doing. full well knew. the responsibility sits squarely with him. he’s a user and an abuser.

he and his pals will be shown the door in November.

when is the hope part supposed to start?

Zbig B’s finger flipping hopey pony and their dem-leader hostages are one scarey picture right now.

oh yes, and i just read that the law suit filed against the DNC by Florida has some teeth to it after all. it’s agoin forward and will make some very real waves. the DNC is trying to squash the news, but you know how we are….we find out stuff anyways…heh heh.

Well, thank you for talking about Zbig Brzezinski. I would also like to add that his daughter, Mika (under the desk b*tch for Obama/Marxist)from Morning Joe (I used to watch now MSNBC is blocked from my television) makes me sick.

I could go on and on as I have about her in many previous posts. When she had her father Zbig on and he was gushing about Obama/Marxist that is when I really started to wonder and dig out research on this Obama/Marxist.

Her brother and father both work for the campaign. I am thinking she is wanting a spot on Obama/Marxist agenda maybe press secretary. She totally makes me want to vomit.

Oh, Obama/Marxist is giving a speech in Chicago. He is saying “we transformed Chicago into a great city” I have to turn him off – I cannot he can say that with a straight face.

I was in Chicago this past winter and went down to the southside. Uh, I am thinking he needs to do a little more examining there cuz it sure looks like a war zone in many areas.

Oh, well, when Michelle/Marxist takes a piece of all our pies I am sure she will fix it.

I’m not, obviously, in agreement with Black Nationalism. However, I do think their voice has a lot to offer all of us.

I say that because I live in LA, and what they are saying, in principle, definitely applies to Latinos, too.

We just need to keep focusing on real people, real stories, real life.

And we need to boot the ideologues to the curb.

But then, I admit, I’ll always come down on the side of pragmatists. I think progress is made in inches.

I am reformed idealist.

We’re probably the worst. *haha

Comment by rjj | 2008-06-06 12:46:24

I am reformed idealist.

It’s a phase, is idealism.

Seeing how “the ideal” works out in practice a couple of times led me to conclude:

1. Oh dear, I am not good at this, or
2. Life is more complex, more paradoxical, more interesting and much better than anything I could come up with.

Actually 1 = 2 but 2 is wordier.

Bottom line (memo to self): shut the fuck up, get out of the way, pay attention, and give thanks.

That said, I will cease this idling and get back to my personal microcosm.

Hillary Clinton had a 57% to 37% lead over Obama among black folks in SC in November. Then she blew it in NH by claiming LBJ’s contribution to civil rights was more important than MLK’s. Never mind that there would have been no pressure on JFK or LBJ to pass legislation if it hadn’t been brought by the movement MLK led. Never mind that elective politics was never an option for a black leader like MLK from Georgia in the 1950s and 60s. Hillary was saying to all minorities that they need white people like her to make government work for them. A lot of us, white and minorities alike decided it’s not 1964 and we don’t her and her DLC lobbyist buddies to act as intermediaries for us anymore.

It was a huge mistake on her part. We’re going to change the way we do business in Washington. We’re going to cut out the middleman.

Comment by jessie | 2008-06-06 12:26:18

There you go dailyidiot. She did not say that she was just saying that it takes a president to implement laws to enact the “change” Martin Luther King fought for and it just so happened that it occured during Johnson’s adminstration.

Please do some fact research before you come here with your pre-printed talking points. Guess you had to dig that one up from the bottom of the pile because that is an old talking point.

Guess that stack of troll talking points is getting pretty tall now. Oh, I forgot, Obama/Marxist has them on his website for your easy reading pleasure.

I don’t think the race card is going to play well in the GE. There aren’t as many white people in the general public who suffer from feelings of “white guilt” as you’ll find in the portion of the Democratic party that supported Obama. While they would never say it in public and certainly not to a pollster, the average white Americans that I know are tired of having race shoved down their throats and they’re tired of being made to feel responsible for things they had nothing to do with (e.g. slavery, the KKK, racial discrimination). People who work their butts off to feed their kids, put gas in the car and barely have enough leftover to make ends meet aren’t worried about race in America. And they’re not going to vote for Obama just to make black people happy.
Now, you can jump on what I’ve said, call me a racist or call the people I’m talking about racists, but I’m just telling like it is. If he tries to play that card in the GE, it’s going to backfire on him.

Comment by Tommy | 2008-06-06 12:45:57

Larry,it’s in the best interest of America to ignore Obama’s unrepentant repentance. People are not repentant if they are forced to admit guilt. I for one, have no obligation to vote for a color or race. American people have to forget affirmative action and let it be said the man that is in love with America, the man that does not associate with hoods and now convicted criminals is the man to be in the White House.

Obama taking money from that criminal Rezko then denying the same criminal raised 200,000 but revealing only 125,000 which I have yet to find any common sense reason why Obama would admit to the 125,000 but deny he received the other 75,000…Obama has denied far too many troubling issues to believe he’s in love with America. He is not repentant for nothing he does or has done….

20 yrs with Wright,Rezko,Ayers and the Plfeger pledger that Obama was the catalyst for the 200,000 grant the guy’s church received , just isn’t defined as intelligent. At least not in the realm of morals and common sense.

The Eltist remarks Obama made in San Francisco just chap my ass….I cling to my Religion,My God and My Guns because it’s the right thing to do….

Clinging to my God,my Religion and My Guns is what I was doing long before obama was born…Yes ,I will continue clinging to My God,My Religion and My Guns..

I hope America never forgets the Elitist remarks by the Author, Barrack Hussein Obama…Obama,he loves the elite but despises the middle class and poor.

Never forget America,Obama could not disown his Rev.Wright, but he can sell you and me out for a penny if he thinks a penny will buy him a vote in November.

Because of the truly sad display of hate that is laid out here for all to see

So you see nothing wrong with the way Senator Obama handled his campaign, and the way his supporters use the term “racist” to describe anyone who doesn’t support him?

He didn’t really say that? Did he? Wow, if that’s true.

To some Obama supporters, the flag pin question may have sounded lame. My husband is a Navy vet and said when you’re 19 years old and in a combat situation (his ship crossed Kaddafi’s “line of death), you think about what you could be doing insted and he then you think about the symbols… the flag… your country… and you remember why youu are there.

Obama has to be very careful. He would be commander-in-cheif and as the President who can order young men and women into combat, he must show them that he respects this country even in the face of it’s flaws. He must show them that he understands the importance of symbols. Remember, our founding fathers set out to form a “more perfect union.” Not a “perfect utopian civilization.”

Interesting this just in:

from the republican blogs discussing what could have happened in the meeting with Clinton/Obama. Speculation that IF Obama chose Clinton as VP, the ticket would be hard to beat….but that use Michelle Whitey tape soon would make obama weak and able to beat, even with HRC on ticket…
(again, from a repug blog so…)

if HRC not on ballot, use of whitey tape would result in nomination of HRC from the floor in August…

so they are all discussing their strategy here…and they know about the tape

Minus any emotionalism, and in full disregard of the negative tactics of the Obama campaign
Not including his questionable associates, who have serious
mental problems, as well, as the tendency to exploit their followers with emotional crutches, and fully unreasonable drivel.
Excluding the devastating
unfairness of the Democratic party and the MSM.
Mr. Obama is not qualified for the job. His application is thin. He uses his opposition to the Iraq war as proof of his superior judgment. Unfortunately
his argument is “I told you so” kind.
He believes that he should be the Commander in Chief of the military, offering, to this country NO experience, questionable judgment and a wife who for all intents and purposes is not fond of white people. He believes as, so many politicians do, that his advisors will lead him, and that he will make judgments based on the full information he will be given. This country cannot really, at this hour, afford a president, whose most common excuses are “an aide filled that out”, or “this isn’t the man I knew”, to be judging anything based on the committed soldiers in the field. Barack Obama, has shown highly flawed judgment, which is based on his lack of experience, his pragmatism and his enveloping need to impose his judgment about how our lives should be, while his life, is filled with chaotic characters, at best. He may believe that another speech will change minds, but to be honest, the only speech he can give, which would make sense to me, and others, is “I resign”. This culminating act of humility might set him on the course of true leadership. Obviously, he has believed that what he learned through organizing in the inner city, has given him insight into how deep his soul is, and how expansive. Yet his large house
in the middle of the streets filled with poverty, makes him as culpable as
those he criticizes. I realize that those who support him, will not find
in my words, anything of value, because some of you are sitting in those
latte hotels, with your own smug ideas of how the world should be; others of you are in your college dorms, with your minds, not yet seasoned with
the wisdom of recognizing a figurehead. Some of you have misplaced ideals, and just want to hear something “nice” and comforting. You want to dream again. But dreams, my friend begin not because of our vaporous hopes, or desire to follow others. Dreams are solely, the hope of your own soul, acting
in consort with reason, and patience and hard work. No one can take you to the mountaintop, and especially, those like Mr. Obama, who has not been
there. He needs you, more than you need him…to get to that bigger house
he desires.

Comment by D | 2008-06-07 11:29:47

One comment I heard a few days ago, which still resonates with me, regarding his associations, is that either:

a) Obama is very nieve and the worst judge of character in a very long time,
or b) Obama is simply at ease with telling lies (knowing full well what was going on in his church and with everyone around him).

The question is… are either good qualities to have in a president?!
