EXACTLY. Which is why I have a Modest Proposal: public flogging. I think we should have a national day (or maybe a week) of flogging. Descendants of slave owners (a relatively tiny proportion of the white population, you understand) would volunteer to be flogged in the National Mall by descendants of slaves. Televised around the world. The crazies could leap and shout and hoot for joy, but in return they'd have to promise to shut up for the rest of eternity. The victimhood of a few million people would be officially wiped off the books and we could all get back to living normal lives. What'dya say folks? I'm one of those said descendants and I'm ready to sign up. It would be worth it to cease the endless gnashing of teeth over white guilt, once and for all.

Really glad discussion came back around to Chicago as Olympic's site. Was no accident that bobama came back to Chi-town, right after Rezko verdict, to pump up the city behind something they want - his typical bait and switch technique - to draw attention away from the city and state's actual state of disgrace.

Want something constructive to do? Find out how to reach the Olumpics committee - or those influential within their current short-list selection. Then send them some links to the HUGE OUTBREAK of violence in Chicago this spring - and send them the links to Black Panther group and other radicals based there. Throw in whatever best post about Rezko. Then ask them if they really want to take a chance on an Olympic location that is a volatile security risk for visiting attendees - where hate groups and sniper violence required the city police to be recently armed, instead of hand guns - with MACHINE GUNS.

Let's get Chicago the bad press it deserves to defeat its bid for the Olympics. Otherwise its one more piece of chicanery that obama will steal the credit for - to buy back the voters of IL. The State Leg there has kept dragging their feet on the voter recall bill to dump the Gov - and this is very likely what they've been holding out for!

Anyone know when the site selection is finalized?

Frightening! The Obama rallies...a revival tent and this is down right scary. This is what OBama has done, blinded everyone with emotion. Hope is the opium of the masses.

See how he's setting this up? If he loses, he can blame "racist" america. This kind of rally is going to frighten people enough to not want him near the whitehouse!

Ooooh. So that's why the air here has been clearing and the energy lifting. Thank you Larry, Susan et al. What a clever way to save us from the downers they've been causing here.

I was near to giving up on NQ comment thread and this really saddened me and left me feeling alone. But I just couldn't keep coming and getting my energy depleted watching the trolls pull down and debase the valuable, informative and thought stimulating thread. Now I feel relief and positive anticipation that we can share our collective focus in more solution-oriented discussion.

Also want to say thanks for Craig's article, and others recently, that you are providing at NQ - which bring us clearer and closer to the actual underlying issues behind the collective nightmare we see happening. Without picking off trolls, like bloodsuckers, off our skin, this site can be what it really is - informative, inspiring and uplifting.

I keep hearing about his "64 page pamphlet at his website!" And that I should just "go read it!" And then I'll know he's "not bad for America!"

Erp. A wha'? A 'pamphlet?' You mean like the one the religious fundies keep leaving on my door step?

Zoikes. What a shaggin' nightmare we've got on our hands.

We didn't (thank god) yet. Chicago has been shortlisted though.

I waiting for my sales taxes to jump a few more percentage points.

If Chicago wins the bid, you'll see a shining olympic city on what has been, for the last century, the peoples lakefront. Slated now only for those who can afford tix to the events, and then no doubt, to be turned into private retail and residences. For the well-to-do. And this shining city will be surrounded by neighborhoods that have gone begging for almost a decade.

Actually, it's kind of like that now.

Blech.

That video is just flat out scarey.

I keep thinking of those 1930's tent revivals - with the charlatans 'healing' people. And Father Coughlin and his "National Union for Social Justice" party.

Yeeeikes. It's like that HBO series - Carnivale. All over again. Freaky-deaky.

Do we need to maybe create a vaccine?

I don't get it. People were fired up for the rally. One lady got overcome by emotion. Everybody else seemed to have it together. Even the guy that was jumping around with her calmed down after a bit. His supporters got excited I don't have a problem with that.

This is a very powerful post - and if read carefully, is quite scary. Hence the intensity of the comments heretofore.

I see the theme of this blog as Prophetic. We human beings have been warned again and again and again of the costs of pursuing idols and "false saviors". A careful reading of the sayings of Jesus of Nazareth as reported through the filters of the writings many of us know as the <em>New Testament</em> tell us that the worship of a false savior is at the core of all of the other "deadly sins".
Think about this from the Democratic Party's perspective - the worship of money, the worship of "winning" for winning's sake, and the worship of Obama's ability with words have all been transformed into the <strong>"worship of the idea of Obama"</strong>. In this worship, the party is turning AWAY from its core principles of working for shared prosperity and shared power, of finding political solutions that provide economic viability and sustainability to those who are not already wealthy or educated or a member of the political "power structure".
This blind adoration of the "brand" of Obama will (not "might", will) result in so many unrealized expectations, that we will put at risk an entire generation of political activists whose energy could have been channeled much better by the candidate with greater substance.
Instead the chant will continue <blockquote><em>"Pay No Attention to that Man Behind the Curtain"</em></blockquote>

I can not believe with children in that church that Wright didn't get in trouble for hunching at the podium. Obama must like his kids seeing that kind of sexual demonstration.

To Larry,

I would like to suggest that we ban any foul language in this site. I would like this site to succeed and allowing foul language might turn-off moderates and conservatives. Lets keep the discussion at a high level. There is no denying that the Obamabots will try their best to discredit this site.

More power to the people. Vox Populi, Vox Dei.

More power to this site.

"Oh My GOD I voted for Hillary but this site hurts her good name. You Guys are an embarrassment."

"If you leave the Democratic Party, then good."

You bet I did. Just mailed a registration form. Changed my party affiliation from Democrats to Independent. The Democratic party does not represent middle class individual like me anymore. So sad.
