An Update on the Michelle Obama Rant

The recording that shows Michelle Obama saying disparaging things about white folks is for real. It is not part of some elaborate dirty trick. The people who have seen her comments describe it as “stunning” or “devastating.” I have not spoken directly with the people who have seen the tape, but I have spoken to two of my friends who are friends with those who watched the tape/dvd.

Are they playing me? No, but it is a valid question to ask. Two of my sources, who have recounted the reactions of their friends who have seen the Michelle “performance,” live on opposite sides of the United States geographically and politically. They do not know each other and had no way of knowing that each of them was talking to me. This is one reason I believe the report of the “tape” is true.

I also have learned that Obama campaign knew about this “tape” at least two weeks prior to my first blog item on the matter. And they are not laughing it off as a joke. (Note to Barack: There are leaks in your campaign.) Ben Smith’s report on the matter only tells part of the story.
The woman from McClatchy who dared ask the question was verbally assaulted by Obama aides. She was treated as if she had made a death threat.

Then there is the matter of the email/disinformation campaign the Obama folks are trying. First they sent some of their bloggers an email claiming that Michelle said “WHY DID HE” rather than use the pejorative, “WHITEY.” And now the excuse is being circulated that somehow I, or someone else, is cribbing from some silly book I have never heard of until now. A campaign does not react this way to a fabrication.

I apologize for any confusion generated from our effort to get on top of this. We made the mistake of putting up the claims from Hillbuzz, but have no way of verifying Hillbuzz’s claim that it is a recording that features Michelle Obama with the wife of Louis Farrakhan. That is not what the sources who have seen the “tape” have reported to me.

The sources who have seen the tape report that Michelle says disparaging things about “whites” and that Louis Farrakhan is visible. There is no identifying information on the segment they have seen to identify the location or time when this was recorded.

Why does this “tape” of Michelle Obama matter? The folks who have it are working to elect John McCain. They are using it now to raise money for a 527 effort that will attack Barack Obama. I am told that they fully intend to keep this “off-the-market” until after the Democratic Convention. The Republicans involved with this believe that Barack Obama is a more beatable candidate than Hillary Clinton and see the tape as reinforcing an image of racial division that will hurt Obama.

I support Hillary Clinton for President. I believe she will be a stronger candidate. And if I had the tape I would put it out in a heartbeat. Getting the tape out now does one of two things–either it persuades Super Delegates that Barack is not electable or it gives the Obama campaign time to repair the damage.

I now appreciate somewhat how Cofer Black, the head of the CIA’s Counter Terrorism Center, must have felt as he tried to warn Condaleeza Rice and the Bush White House about a brewing terrorist attack in the days leading up to September 11th. And please, I am not equating the Michelle tape with the attacks of 9-11. Rather I am focused on the point of what happens when someone has incomplete information, which warns about a future event, and tries to raise the alert. Just because Cofer Black could not say in late July 2001 that the coming attack would be carried out by 19 hijackers on four commercial airliners did not mean his intelligence was wrong.

Those who want to vilify me for having the audacity to raise this warning can have at it. I ran up against similar attacks and skeptics in May of 2003 when I warned that the Bush Administration had cooked the intelligence on Iraq. It is only now that we get a Senate Intelligence Committee Report and a book from Scott McClellan confirming what I said five years ago.

I caught more heat in October of 2003 when I defended Valerie Plame as an undercover CIA officer. Again, we had to wait until the trial of Scooter Libby to learn that the claims she was just a glorified secretary were lies. And once again Scott McClellan, Bush’s former Press Secretary, confirms that he was lied to as well about Valerie’s status and who was involved in spreading her name around town.

My efforts on those two issues earned me the enmity of many on the political right. On at least two separate occasions the Wall Street Journal editorial page attacked me by name and accused me of being part of a CIA effort to sabotage the policies of President Bush. Those charges were repeated and amplified in a subsequent book by Kenneth Timmerman,

    Shadow Warriors

.

Now it is some on the left who are attacking me and behaving in the same manner as those who rejected my reports on Iraq and Valerie Plame. Now I am a Republican tool. Here’s a small, but representative sample of the “love” letters coming my way:

On May 26, you wrote in your blog: “I know for a fact that Barack and Michelle Obama would like the tape of her blasting “whitey” during a rant at Jeremiah Wright’s church to never see the light of day.”

Really? If that’s the case, where’s the video? You and I know that if such a video exists it would have appeared on YouTube by now. But the truth seems to be there’s no such tape not because it hasn’t appeared on the web but because you can’t even keep your story straight. If you knew anything for a fact, your story would at least be consistent. I especially love how your sources are “all Republicans with access to knowledge but who do not know each other.” How convenient. But you and I also know that most insiders with access tend to know, or know of, each other. I suspect you made this up to cover your ass: since you name no names and you say the Republican insiders don’t know each other, there’s no way for anyone to disprove you. How clever. I’m also amazed at the bold face lie you tell your readers: that Michelle Obama was at Trinity Church when she made the speech, only to recant later and admit that you “do not know where this [the alleged panel discussion] occurred.”

Please stop using your blog to spread lies and rumors. It is not making this country any better.

Alejandro Queral

Now for the shocker. If the election comes down to a choice between John McCain and Barack Obama I will vote for Bob Barr. I live in Maryland and my state is very likely to vote overwhelmingly for Barack. I continue to believe that Barack is not qualified by experience or temperament to be President. I will be happy to be proved wrong on that count. But, if elected, he is likely to revive memories of the failed Presidency of Jimmy Carter. How apropos that Jimmy endorsed Barack.

And I cannot support John McCain, who is staffing his national security team with many of the bozos who were instrumental in bringing us the debacle in Iraq. Of particular concern is Randy Scheunemann. A confidant of Douglas Feith, Scheunemann represents a continuation of the disastrous Bush policies in the Middle East. I’ll devote more time later to these issues.

Let me conclude with this–I think there is at least one tape/recording that will be released sometime after the August convention and is likely to be very damaging to the Barack Obama presidential campaign. While I hope that Super Delegates wake up and realize that Hillary is their best shot for victory in the fall, I realize I am swimming upstream. So word to Barrack and team–the tape is coming at some point and you folks better be ready to deal with it because, unlike the situations with Jeremiah Wright and Michael Pfleger, you cannot divorce your wife in the middle of a campaign.

Larry, I’m interested in your thoughts on Hillary’s speech today. As the proprietor of this site, are you in line with what HRC said about supporting Obama? Or is NoQuarter a Republican site now?

Comment by SFHillary | 2008-06-07 14:15:59

Larry, quick question: what did you think of Hillary’s speech today? Are you going to support her very passionate and sincere plea for her supporters to support Obama and the Democratic Party? Or is NoQuarter now officially a Republican site?

In 48hrs the pdf of your statutory rape charges in costa rica will be made public.

Your treasonous liaison with what you thought was a prostitute will be ‘leaked’ to your staunchest critics on monday.

You are already loathed by more people than ever liked you.

Not a very good place to be for someone with as many skeletons as you.

We also know who you ratted out to avoid prison.

Obama was supposed to come to New Orleans today to speak to the National Conference of Black Mayors. He would’ve been able to discuss all those issues he blamed Hillary for not focusing on.

Instead, he canceled days ago because he had ‘family commitments’.

Now we see that those commitments included the important task of playing golf.

This is the second time this year he’s canceled events speaking to black groups in New Orleans - the first being Tavis Smiley’s State Of The Black Union.

Sounds like Mr Issues doesn’t really want to discuss anything and no longer needs to pander to a certain group anymore.

Anyone shocked?

Comment by Newly Independent | 2008-06-08 02:38:48

Not me.

He hasn’t even been elected - and already he’s breaking campaign promises.

Doesn’t one normally wait to be elected President before they arrogantly begin breaking campaign promises?

Comment by tzada | 2008-06-08 08:14:03

No I am not shocked. Why is everyone missing the point herResearch has show that Barack Hussein Obama is most probably NOT an African American but a Arab American. His father was classified as Arab African. He has three Arabic names. The Arabs call him “the Face” He has Arab support. He already has black people conned. He doesn’t need them because he already has them hooked. Now he needs to try and appeal to white men, thus the golf. We have seen bowling, basketball. He is a regular, empty suit. Trying to be what will further his agenda to implement his regime.
How any black who has studied the roots of slavery, could vote for Obama is mind boggling.
THE TAPE and Larry have been the subject of at least 2 op ed’s at the AOL PM. They are so in love with Obama that their eyes are brown.

Here’s a link for Obama not appearing–since the primary is over he feels he doesn’t have to (and Clinton would not be threre as well). But, there is a pattern here….

http://www.nola.com/news/index.ssf/2008/06/obama_not_addressing_black_may.html

I keep hoping he’ll decide he needs to spend lots more time with his family, and turn the nomination over to Sen. Clinton.

Hey, a voter can hope, right?

Comment by Just Curious | 2008-06-08 20:17:23

Why is there even a National Conference of Black Mayors? Blacks are always wanting things to be equal.

I find it so funny that there can be Black Awards, Colleges, etc., but if Whites did that, the blacks would be filing racial law sues.

“Charges” characterized as a “treasonous liaison” whatever that means, followed by an accusation he “ratted out” someone “to avoid prison.”

Charges do not equal guilt. The ratting out part would be hard to prove and “We also know” is not proof.

I don’t see any PDF file either. All I see is hot air.

You remind me of “tootsky” who claimed the Southern Poverty Law Center was going after Larry for the alleged racism on this blog. That was a couple of weeks ago and I see no sign of any legal action.

Comment by tootsky | 2008-06-07 16:20:14

I never said they were going “after” this blog….I said that prompted by language used by commenters - and some bloggers - here, there would be a file created and if need be, a report made . I do know that they are producing a report on racism in the presidential primaries, particularly among HRC surrogates.

Shameful they won’t address one of the other causes of Poverty that was rampant in this campaign, and in not doing so they clearly show that it is a more ubiquitous problem. The sexism across this blog by those who hate, not just dislike or disagree with, but hate Hillary Clinton were stewed in a vat of mysogynistic hatred that either they don’t realize is sexism, or simply dismiss it out of confusion with their other hatred.

I didn’t hate Obama when I asked questions early on. I said, ‘wow that would be something worth finding out about’. Then I watched the koolaid drinkers go off and refuse to let you ask the question as if you where questioning the existence of Auschwitz!

I don’t care what report is rendered about “HRC surrogates” because it will be bogus anyway. The more dominiant ISM of this campaign was SEXISM pure and simple.

There were things said about both Clinton and women all along that demonstrated it, and it wasn’t simply by Obama surrogates, as a report might want to examine, but Sweetie, Obama himself engaged in it several times because he has that patronizing sexism in much of what he says about Clinton’s acheivements and merits, sweetie.

Now, I don’t believe Obama is much different than most men who are still struggling to understand what the ‘equal rights’ for women must look like. It is not unlike watching white folks figure out what reparations really means, and it doesn’t mean cut a check.

To Conclude: Reparations in two communities are due in our time, but what does the word mean? Reparations: The Action of Repairing.

Because to some shallow minded people it simply means getting and giving a check. Wrong, because giving a check, as shown by the Welfare system, didn’t mean shit!
Did it mean give an advancement to those who were told to be at the back of the line?
Partially, but it also allowed exploitation of guilt to let people forward who in a non-racial or sexist society hadn’t shown the skills or accumen to handle task.

With Sexism, Racism, and Classism, still operating the subconcious behavior of the United States, these conflicts will continue on. It is a good thing that Racism is very exposed, and I hope we can see the same for Sexism soon because it is older and more deeply seeded. Remember, black folks got the right to vote before women. And then white women were allowed vote before black women. If you give a shit about either, then give a shit about both.

I’m not here to be lectured by the Obama supporters and I’m not a member of a party. I already know what I want to learn about Clinton because I’ve paid attention to them for a long time. I will continue to ask about Obama, and should something appear that others might want to see, I will post it, broadcast it wide and let you guys figure it out.

Larry Johnson has done you a service here by vetting what the handlers wouldn’t. You love him when it suits you and blame him for your shortcomings when your expectations aren’t met. I’m glad many of you were never intelligence experts.

But by mid-1985, Spadafora was furious with the drug corruption. He contacted the DEA’s chief officer in Costa Rica, Robert Nieves, to complain about contra drug trafficking. Nieves considered Spadafora’s information too vague to pursue, but Spadafora declared that he still intended to denounce Noriega and the contras.

On Sept. 13, 1985, Spadafora boarded a bus for Panama City and, that afternoon, crossed into Panama. But at a check point, soldiers stopped the bus and dragged Spadafora off. His beheaded body was found a day later stuffed into a U.S. mail bag on the bank of a river on the Costa Rican side of the border.

The Spadafora murder touched off new suspicions about cocaine trafficking by the contras, their backers in Costa Rica and Noriega’s Panamanian Defense Forces. On Dec. 20, 1985, for The Associated Press, Brian Barger and I wrote the first news story citing the growing evidence that contra units operating in northern Costa Rica had engaged in drug trafficking.

Eventually, Costa Rican authorities would agree, accusing pro-contra Cuban exiles and other Americans of using Costa Rica as a drug transshipment point. As part of these findings, Costa Rica barred the CIA’s Joe Fernandez and North from the Central American nation.

(Fernandez and North have denied any role in drug trafficking, but failed to return phone calls seeking comments for this article. Now retired from the DEA, Nieves works with North and Fernandez at Guardian Technologies, a bullet-proof vest company in Sterling, Virginia. Nieves said he did not recall the name John Molina.)

I wouldn’t worry to much about the wrath of the O’Bots.

If we’ve learned anything from this debacle, it is that Team Obama is mainly the same class of blowhard keyboard warriors that spent the last seven years crowing about the glorious exploits of their war hero George Dubya.

At this stage, I will also be writing in Hillary for president.

And after carefully reading more about this Michelle Obama situation, it is starting to sound to me like there may be at least 2 tapes, one perhaps in 2004 and another later, with the second referencing Katrina (which occurred in 2005).

The Republican op machine was able to change John Kerry from a war hero to a war coward, and Max Cleland into a traitor, when he left 3 limbs on the battlefield.

This one is going to be ridiculously easy for them, I’m afraid.

Yes — with information as important as this I read every single word — and then reread it.

Larry has been consistent from the beginning.

However, I for one do not need to see the tape to know that Mrs. Obama is fully capable of unloading a racist rant.

It is time that everyone realize that this sort of hatred against a whole group of people is dangerous. As the wife of a President she could be put in a position of power and she could do a lot of harm.

The skin heads — white separatist can be found in the Northwest. They are also dangerous — they share some of the same attitudes as the black separatists.

The GOP has so much material to use against snObama — they might be having a hard time deciding what order to release their shockers.

Whatever — the Democrat Party is DEAD — gone.

Comment by Judith | 2008-06-07 17:01:04

However, I for one do not need to see the tape to know that Mrs. Obama is fully capable of unloading a racist rant.

I agree. You need only to read her Princeton Thesis and think about where she took her children to Church to know that it’s very possible.

Comment by Mahatma X | 2008-06-07 22:35:41

Ah yes, the “controversial” senior thesis:

Much scrutiny and discussion has been focused on a single phrase contained within the thesis, the statement that “blacks must join in solidarity to combat a white oppressor.” This phrase has repeatedly been quoted out of context and presented as if it reflected Michelle Obama’s own philosophy, but in its full context it is clearly her speculation about what she thought some of the respondents she surveyed for her thesis (i.e., students who had attended Princeton in earlier years) might have been feeling:

As discussed earlier, most respondents were attending Princeton during the 70’s, at a time when the Black Power Movement was still influencing the attitudes of many Blacks.

It is possible that Black individuals either chose to or felt pressure to come together with other Blacks on campus because of the belief that Blacks must join in solidarity to combat a White oppressor. As the few blacks in a white environment it is understandable that respondents might have felt a need to look out for one another.

we should have a better choice than mccain or bo. but we don’t. all the other names simply won’t win.

and if it’s between mccain and bo, it HAS to be mccain.

jmho.

Comment by grtphoto | 2008-06-07 14:26:15

Comment by so saddened | 2008-06-07 14:31:52

i do understand and have no quarrel with those who just can’t vote mccain. (do have a HUGE quarrel with those who vote bo!)

re third party vote - it does take away a vote that bo was counting on. but it doesn’t add to the number of votes that bo has to get. the only way to do that is vote for mccain.

example - if there are 10 voters and 4 vote bo and 3 vote mccain and 2 stay home and 1 writes in hillary, bo wins. if the 3 who stayed home or wrote in hillary would rather have mccain than bo, and they vote for mccain, mccain has 6 votes and bo has 4 and mccain wins.

i think bo is counting on those of us who don’t want him staying home or voting third party. he’s counting on just that kind of math getting him elected.

again, jmho, and i respect your opinion.

Comment by mimi | 2008-06-07 15:13:16

IMO, it depends on the state where you live. I live in a big blue state that should go Democratic. However, I’m of the mind that McCain just might be competitive here, so I will pay attention to the polls and the word on the street.

If McCain is at all competitive here, I will vote for him. No, I don’t like him, but I think the war is going to resolve if for no other reason than $$$$ and the economy. McCain knows this. He can’t say that out loud because he’s on shaky ground with his Party as it is, but I really think if he becomes President, he will sell the idea that for reasons of the Economy we have to move in a different direction. And certainly, the signs are already showing that the Economy is drifting in this direction.

Again, everyone must follow their conscience. I’m not going to do what Obama and his campaign have done, try to take away anyone’s right to choose. My situation at the moment is simple. Obama should be able to win my state without me. But if he can’t, then that only affirms what we already know, HE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN THE NOMINEE. And I will vote McCain just to drive that point home.

Comment by grtphoto | 2008-06-07 15:22:32

Mimi, I like your point, he should try to win a state w/o us, exactly. I live in AZ, I am assuming will go McCain, we voted Hill in the primary. I don’t want to take away anyone’s vote either. We each have to do what is good for us. If the rumors are true, that BO said he is not going to try to woo us then let him go it alone; on his own bone fides (or lack thereof). Lets see where the chips fall…

Comment by David Axisrutt | 2008-06-07 15:26:35

On thing’s for sure: the SDs who are supposed to prevent a McGovern disaster - it ain’t working. They get bullied and that destroys the whole thing. Hill? You go to Denver. You take the nomination from this bastard. You start planning to move into 1600. We love you.

Comment by grtphoto | 2008-06-07 15:29:10

I totally agree, go to Denver, I fear though that she is not. Her speech today was incredible, it made me sad for what could be…don’t look back she says, look forward; I sure am!

Comment by TR | 2008-06-07 17:01:00

I must say honestly that I was not a Hillary supporer prior to the primary process. I thought Bill was a great president, however, and thought that his presence would be the key.

But what Hillary showed me in terms of, knowledge, command of the facts, fight, determination, and in the end, a hugely winning campaign style won me over like no candidate in my memory.

And as a man, I couldn’t be more proud of a presidential candidate. I can only imagine how women feel, at this stage.

Comment by Cath | 2008-06-07 17:45:04

I was not for Hillary at the stat, being an Edwards supporter. But she convinced me that she would most likely be an excellent president.

Obama hasn’t shown me a damned thing about whether he can lead our country. A few pretty speeches and a slick campaign just don’t make it.

Oh, and just for the record, Hillary’s speeches are better.

I live in a purple state, Wisconsin, and will hold my nose and vote for McCain. I will hate it and it will make me sick to my stomach to do it but I believe that allowing the Obamacrats to continue their takeover of the Democratic Party is far more dangerous than McCain.

If McCain wins, then it’s up to the spineless Democrats to rein him in. If they don’t or won’t then they are useless anyway. Like they’ve been since 2006.

No kidding.

BTW, Al Franken is running for the senate in your neighboring state, Minnesota. I think he’d be a good senator. Anyway, I’ve donated to his campaign. He needs money.

Al ran a good radio Air America show. He shut up and let his guests and experts talk. That’s more than 99% of the airheads hosting the airwaves are able to do.

And that’s why I think he’d be a good senator.

Sorry about the rant.

Comment by TR | 2008-06-07 17:08:40

Marge, you make some excellent points.

I am totally disappointed in the rest of the democratic party at this stage. They have caved in to a weak president consistently since taking over in 2006.

And now they have caved in again.

Seriously, what we need in this country is a 3rd, 4th, and 5th party; Nader has always been right on this point, that is, that we must break the chains of hold that two parties have on us.

Comment by drkate | 2008-06-07 14:59:45

vote for a 3rd party that takes votes away from Obama. That would be the green party, independent, or republican candidate McCain.

A vote for Barr helps McCain. A vote for Nader helps Obama. A vote for the green party takes votes away from Obama.

I live in red state that will never go Obama, and that does not recognize the green party. I guess I might be lucky here, I don’t have to vote for McCain. But swing state voters–chose the party that will take votes away from Obama, make sure “anybody but Obama” wins.

Comment by Nicole | 2008-06-07 15:30:56

I can’t imagine voting for either McCain or Obama. Both of them would be bad for American. I can’t support McCain’s bad policies. I can’t support Obama because we’ve had enough of presidents that need training wheels with specious associates. Plus this wasn’t a primary (sic) season, this was a prolonged poorly weighted DNC beauty contest. What is it about this two party system that continually brings us the worst of all worlds these days?

I want to work extremely hard for a viable third party that contains the country’s great middle. Maybe we can work here to form one. I voted for John Anderson in my very first presidential election. I’m hoping there is some one of similar ilk out there.

Comment by Bobbski | 2008-06-07 15:39:33

A third party candidate will only become viable after they have candidates for local, state and congressional offices as well. Once they have been elected and made a reputation for their party it will become possible for a presidential candidate from their party to be taken seriously.

I am with you, the two parties we have are like Tweedle-dum and Tweedle-dee. They do not represent the people.

I do not doubt there is a tape.

I wouldn’t want it released in June anyway.

If any Hillary supporter has it — they’d be wise to wait till just before the Denver Convention to release it.

However, Michelle is the weak link — she can’t be hidden away forever.

Evem though a report today reveals they are assigning special handlers to keep Michelle in check.

Michelle will be on The View June 18th.

I doubt she will be able to keep her decades-long ‘angry Black Woman’ routine in check.

Stay tuned.

It’s the same as with Bush, can’t you see it now?

Every fart out of that brain, and the same old people will be trolling, spewing and selling the same old way, just like the last eight years, and the four before that, with Clinton.

Wouldn’t it be nice to have a smart person in charge?

Eight more years of this troll tripe, until they finally die off, if Clinton doesn’t secure the nomination, somehow.

Even if she does.

It’s like an army of Amway salesman, all over the Internet, constantly pitching you stale corn chips.

That would include two of my best friends from high school, and my Indian next door neightbor: “Have you ever heard of Amway? You can make a fortune, you know, their prices are quite reasonable,” as they try to sell you a bottle of floor cleaner for $10.00.

Whew!

I live in California, a state that willl go Dem any way. I will still vote for Mccain just to tell the Dem Party what an A_SS they been. I am independent and had never voted for Rep for President, this will be a first. I had a different take on your comment on Amway. I tryed in the 90s and took in about 100 people into the business. The only problem is that over 80% of them are like Obama supporters who want me to do all the presentations and uplifting. They can’t think or take initiative on their own. They are always excited after the speech I made, but never atually go out their to do anything, or try to turely understand the concept. I end up giving it up after I realized I can spend my time and energy elsewhere to help myself and my family instead of helping people who are too lazy to help themself. That help me got out of the low in-come group and became financialy independent. If these same people who can’t see that we need Hillary in our current situation, then they should pay the price in the next for years. I can weather that, and will have not hting to do with another 4 years of Bush if Obama is ever elected.

So there you are - The complicit Barry supporters of The View (except elizabeth - the only intelligent one left) will have Michelle as co host. I don’t watch that show anymore but perhaps I will tape it just to see if Michelle can keep her rants within discretion this time. Oh course they do have that delay button….

Have enjoyed reading your columns Larry - thank God for some responsible investigative journalism - you put yourself out there so you expect and get the hate - Just think, it is less than 1% of the Hate Hillary gets from the Obama campaign supporters.

Given that the “whitey tape” story has so many holes in it, I’d say if you want to call it opinion, it’s informed opinion. Asking me to accept on faith claims based on tertiary sources is simply not acceptable. Why not actually focus on something real, like the candidates’ issues?

Comment by Karma | 2008-06-07 15:23:44

Really, it was debunked? Then why do their closing arguments against Larry, are in fact what he has been saying all along?

Larry has consistantly stated there are more reasons to vote against Obama than this tape. That we should not expect this tape to help Hillary since it will probably be released in October.

Read below….

“Because those who prefer a president besides Obama should not go through the summer and fall convinced that a magic-bullet devastating tape is going to appear as an October surprise to save the day.

Also, there are a lot of good reasons to vote against Barack Obama; but what people claim Michelle Obama says on a tape that no one can produce and no one has seen isn’t one of them.”

No matter how you spin it, that article closes by reiterating his actual statements concerning the tape.

Try again….

Comment by Mahatma X | 2008-06-07 22:20:51

Then why keep harping on an alleged tape that doesn’t seem to exist? Why not actually focus on those issues? If y’all want to keep on chasing rainbows go right ahead, but still, Johnson and crew are now laughingtocks.

You did not address the fact that nearly everything you’ve described of this tape is remarkably similar to a novel that came out in 2006 by Stephen Frey called the “Power Broker”. In fact Ben Smith even directs us to a conservative website that points it out (why didn’t you link to that comment I wonder…).

I dunno Larry, the plotline in the book is about a video that has a young African American running for President calling someone ‘Whitey’, and certain nefarious people planning to expose it when the time is right.

So either this guy Stephen Frey should be making a living as a psychic or you are being played. As an analyst (or former analyst) I’m sure you are familiar with the premise of Occam’s Razor, which state sthat usually the simplest answer is the right one.

It looks to us like you got played

Would that be like when Barky discussed in his book how he saw a photo of a black man in ebony magazine who was looking at himself in the mirror in horror because he had tried to remove his color with chemicals……..and it just happened to match up exactly with the pubicity shot of the book Black Like Me? The story where a white guy used chemicals to appear black?

The differences between Frey’s book and the Michelle allegations are far more profound than in the case of previous literary coincidences. On my site, I talk about the strange case of “Black Abductor,” which strangely predicted the Patty Hearst kidnapping — in astonishing detail — before it happened.

Aaron Sorkin had a plot line remarkably similar to Barry’s campaign. Wonder how that happened. Maybe the whole Barry campaign is just made up and we’ll wake up out of this fucking nightmare tomorrow. Haha.

I would give anything have Hillary back. I would do anything (short of illegal stuff) to get some sense into the super delegates’ heads.

I have written hundreds if not thousands of emails and faxes and called again and again. As for the Party, the answers they gave me angered me more. The coldness in their voice and responses could freeze lake Michigan in mid summer.

We should call for the party leadership to resign and reorganize our Party’s voting system. It gives too much room for corruption. As we can see in this election.

Comment by Uppity Woman | 2008-06-07 14:36:05

First, the party gets taken back from the radical fringe, just like the last time. You do that by voting. The rest will fall into place. The party will be marginalized….again, until a Moderate rescues it and wins again. It’s been two presidents in 40 years. Only one was a two termer because he was a moderate with left leanings. Now it will be 44 years.

Comment by David Axisrutt | 2008-06-07 15:50:48

Bill Clinton is the only two termer Dem in 60 years.

You know, when the GE is over, we will be able to look back and sum up Obama’s political fate by just using titles to Roy Orbison songs.

His campaign — Running Scared

His unbelievably humiliating and embarrassing defeat by McCain this fall — Crying

His ostracism by the same party elites who have used him to try to destroy the Clintons but will consign him to political Siberia after his loss — Only the Lonely

What Michelle will do to him after he loses and she doesn’t get to be First Lady — Mean Woman Blues.

I live in Florida.

Obama will lose Florida no matter how I vote.

I’ll write in Hillary’s name (yes - Florida has a write in spot on the ballot).

I will also vote against any DEM on the down ticket who had a SuperDel vote that went to Obama.

My husband will vote McCain. So will my Mom.

That’s three votes. Oh — FYI. There are no Obama lawn signs in my town. Not. One.

Comment by hillarysmygirl | 2008-06-07 14:58:04

My state, California, also has a write in spot, BUT…the vote will only count if my candidate registers. So if Hillary doesn’t register, my vote may a. not count or b. Worse, count for Obama. Check with Florida’s rules and make sure your vote goes the way you want it to this time.

I’m so sorry the DNC RBC shafted you. I’m behind you all the way.

She calls Bill every bad name there is and called Hillary a Ho. He states that the DVD is over 30 minutes long and it had been edited. Ed’s comments on what I wrote here are in red under the “Latest Comments.” Ed got a comment from someone that warned him that people have disappeared for less than what he is alleging. He said he would comment again to Ed again later.

Letter: Barack Obama: America should take off the blinders before it’s too late
By TCPalm Staff

Saturday, June 7, 2008

I believe in equality for all people. That being said, I believe Sen. Barack Obama is a racist, inexperienced and, at best, has poor judgment. He had 20 years to decide if he agreed with his church’s message. It is the blatant, anti-white, anti-American diatribe spewed by his preachers that the voters in the exit polls were referring to when they stated, “racism played a part in their vote.”

I heard a black man state that black people cannot be racist because of their plight in life at the hands of whites. This must be a new rule made up by politicians. The suggestion that black people cannot be racist is absolutely absurd!

United Trinity Church of Christ has received federal funds from the government, thanks to Sen. Obama. Then its preachers have the audacity to denigrate America while the congregation claps and cheers! When asked about this, Rev. Jeremiah Wright said he took the money because white America owes it to the blacks. None of my ancestors had slaves. I, therefore, refuse to accept guilt that I have not earned.

The performances seen on television have shaped my opinion. His church thought so much of those performances it recorded, printed and sold them. Political-correctness gurus have decided that any opinion expressed by a white person who questions Obama constitutes racism. Americans had better take off the blinders before it’s too late and see Obama for what he truly is.

Remember: He resigned from his church to protect the church, not because he denounced his preacher’s behavior! Any church so closely aligned with Minister Louis Farrakhan gives me cause to worry. Rev. Wright and Father Michael Pfleger have ignited a racial tension not felt in America for many years.

So you let them roll with it, until reality punches them in the nose, again, and again.

Despite using the same tactics, and the same people, they’re losing ground, in terms of media control.

All this with the press bought out, they’re tool, for god’s sake, and they STILL had to steal the election from Clinton, the old fashioned way.

you sent this to the FBI? You will be laughed out of the office! First, they will look at context. Next, they will read and comprehend the message which in no way is a threat. “better bring an army, instead of an empty suit”? Are you that obtuse that you don’t know what “empty suit” is? And that it refers to Obambi?

ps..site owner has plenty of contacts in the FBI, CIA and intelligence community, and would never under any circumstances allow any death threats to anyone, get it?

Nope. No threat there, Jon-Jon- veiled or otherwise- unless you are trying to to infer that the poster has an atom bomb to use. Jon, just calm down and breathe.

Even, “We will kill ‘em in the next election” is not a death threat.

I think Michelle’s pitbull desire to scratch out President Bill Clinton’s eyes is closer to a death threat. That could cause a lot of bleeding.

Thanks Larry. Your role has been pivitol in both warning obama, his supporters and the DNC, but has also kind of screwed the republicans who have it….now it can’t be a complete surprise…

but, instead of spending their time alternately denying and confirming the existence of the tape, they should get to work in figuring out how to explain to America why Michelle Obama–with her hate, recent pride in America, and her degradation of women and whites, should be the First Lady of the United States. IMO, she doesn’t AT ALL. She is an angry child.

Comment by Patrick Walker | 2008-06-07 17:32:10

Obama should not be brought down because of his wife. She’s not running for office.

If anything brings Obama down, it should be what his advisers stand for. Those are the only associations that matter. Samantha Power has called for the next new President to “extract concessions” from allies in order to allow the US to “patrol the commons.” I think we just figured out what that extra 90,000 increase in troop strength is all about. He also has some poor economics advisors and the best way to sum up Obama’s fiscal and economic plan (what there is of it anyways) is: wrong, wrong, wrong.

It’s quite possible this tape rumour is a plant by the Obama campaign to get REAL issues out of the discussion, like his abysmal performance in the Electoral College.

Larry,

Thanks for sticking with this story. You could be right; you could be wrong - but whichever way this turns out, this is a legitimate news story.

Verification, if it ever surfaces, that Michelle Obama has publicly ranted against white people would gravely undermine Barack Obama’s candidacy. He might be able to overcome it as Clinton was able to overcome “bimbo eruptions” and “loathing the military” but the chances approach nil. It’s one thing to say you’ll never “disown” your “crazy uncle” minister/spiritual advisor and then proceed to disown him 2 months later. It’s another thing to have your own spouse, your soulmate and the parent of your children, put you in this kind of horrible position.

Barack Obama does not harbor these racially-antagonistic attitudes; it’s ridiculous to contend he does. But the company he has kept, clearly does. First we had the good reverend - then the Catholic priest - now, who knows what. The trend-line is not looking so good.

The news story is, that with better intelligence and less mass hysteria about Obama, this could have been unearthed sooner and the looming disaster could have been avoided. This election should be a cakewalk for the Democrats with the right candidate. Obama is not that candidate. What a gawd-awful shame.

Hang in there - you’re in for nothing but abuse and maybe worse, for probably a couple of months. Then we’ll see. I’m trusting in you to continue to be as courageous with this as you have been already, whatever the cost.

All in good time…and timing is everything to the Republicans. That is why they have succeeded over and over. Yes, a video of Barky’s spouse spewing cracker, whitey, etc. will most likely send his campaign to the gutter in a matter of minutes. The internet is fast.

Comment by claribel borden | 2008-06-07 16:56:20

If it’s only an attack on Clinton say, and boy, they were furious about the fairy tale comment, IRRATIONAL, for whatever reason, (in addition, Clinton would not support Obama’s Congressional run in 2000), it might be mitigated if Hillary is VP, or they use her to address the issues.

She has credibility, people trust her, at least at this moment, who better to balance MO and BO’s social klutziness, their lack of grace, than Clinton?

They forget everything in pursuit of the Presidency, but the anger doesn’t go away once the objective is achieved, or lost, it flames, even more severely.

Vote for McCain — it’s double the pleasure of not voting for BO, and Voting against him.

2 votes for the price of one.

____

I think Larry has done a service to this country, valiant and unrecognized so far.

The fact that Obama will “VET” the VP but doesn’t want anyone to ever know who he really is, and just show up as Prez is amazing.

He and the wife can’t even remember if she has a racist rant somewhere or not? Not fit for leadership. Or, they know darn well she did? Outrageous.

Candidates we just meet should be vetted.

In the end, Obama only got his seat because he merely had to defeat Maryland resident Alan Keyes for the junior ILLINOIS US Senate seat.

There is also the issue that Michelle is a much more visible character and has said things that piqued the interest of investigators only now. Her comments about her newfound pride and scratching out Bill Clinton’s eyes.

Comment by Liberalnurse | 2008-06-07 15:23:31

Hillary can go take a long break and relax a while. She had a job to do for the Party, she did it today. Remember, it is NOT her job to unite the fractured Democratic Party; it is Obama who must try to fix the damage. Edwards, Richardson, Biden, Dodd, Kucinich, they all have had long breaks….let them mend the Party with Obama while Hillary gets a little rest; they were candidates too.

But that doesn’t answer the question that I asked. Hillary and Obama are burying the hatchet. Will people on this blog do the same thing? Will they give Obama a chance to gain their trust?

Comment by MessyMarcy | 2008-06-07 18:18:43

Will they give Obama a chance to gain their trust?

No. When Obama chose to use Bush/Rove tactics against a member of his own party, when he decided to falsely accuse Hillary and Bill Clinton of racism, when he decided to base his campaign on bigotry by denigrating and ridiculing all women, the elderly, and many other groups, when even after it became apparent his backers had succeeded in stealing the nomination for him, he continued his outrageous, slimy smearing of Clinton as if he wanted not only to defeat her in this contest but to destroy her for all time — when he did all of those things, he lost any chance he ever had of having my trust or my vote.

Add to that the fact that he simply is not qualified to be President and is a charlatan with no character or principles who has surrounded himself with a group of criminals and thugs, and even John McCain looks good to me.

Is that answer sufficiently clear for you?

McCain ‘08, Hillary ‘12, Obama never.

Both sides seem to have batshit stupid help, those lil prissy Ivy or near Ivy boys who just have to take control of everything, and lose all, as we have in Iraq, economically, and with oil, up to now.

Maybe that’s the point, let the stupid guys destroy the corrupt system, and rebuild.

Only an Obamatron would think it kooky to win a war and not leave Iraq until the job is done, after so much has been lost. At this point, it does not really matter if the intelligence was faulty. The reality is that we broke it and we must stay until it is fixed.

This former Democrat and his family will NOT vote for Obama.

Cripes, Obama is talking about hollowing out our military too (in addition to surrendering in Iraq):

Larry,

It seems unrealistic to think that a couple of people on this gigantic planet would have the capability of holding something of this magnitude down. Obama has made alot of enemies–I think Rev. Wright is one of them, being that he was thrown under the bus along with Obama’s white grandmother. If that tape exist, I can’t imagine someone from his “previous church” holding back. Also, I can’t imagine someone passing up the opportunity to cash in on this potential bombshell. We will see…but I have my doubts.

It seems unrealistic to think that a couple of people on this gigantic planet would have the capability of holding something of this magnitude down.

It does? What hole do you live in?

Million dollar paintings disappear all the time and are never found. People are kidnapped and never turn up. One outsider gets a tape and the JJ people figure out what’s going on and break all the links on their website. They close down access. Barry starts to shit on himself. I have personally seen things like this happen. People get caught with their feet in their mouths years after the fact. Jerry Wright’s tapes were out in the open.

No, you’re being a fool is all. You know what? Your coming here and harassing people doesn’t change a thing. You can’t even convince yourself the tape doesn’t exist. And whilst Larry is stating exactly what he knows you are jumping to conclusions. Larry and the rest of us will go with the truth as it’s only a fact (or not). But for you - your world threatens to shatter in a million pieces merely because this tape might exist and your precious polyester candidate might not win and you might not get to Deval Patrick Paradise.

Sounds to us like you - as most of the Obamatrons - have serious mental health issues. In which case you’d better hope that tape turns up soon. Because Barry’s excuse for a health system won’t pay for the psychiatric care you need.

Comment by Patrick Walker | 2008-06-07 17:54:24

A lot of people may have the tape and simply not know about it. They may not remember who was speaking on the tape after a few years or have forgotten about the tape altogether.

Finding stuff like this is why the Republicans pay these sleuths so much.

I suspect a lot of people have the tape already but MO was not a celebrity until this last year.

I personally do not doubt the validity of the tape. My problems with Obama transcend anything about his possibly racist wife.

We see a whole lot of stupid, remember, Bush and Cheney’s and Obama’s people are batshit stupid, but the real ops, not the TV ops, know how this works, and these are the people who have dealt with this crap since ww2, or even before.

And those people win.

DianeJ,

We’re on the same team, but the vote in November is Electoral College, not popular. So if you live in a Blue State like me, a vote for John McCain doesn’t do him any good, Obama gets all the electoral college votes anyway.
In this case, I need a way to send a message to Barky that I didn’t vote for him even if my state went his way. Writing in Hillary ( and I will checkthe law here, Uppity, thanks) is a little protest on my part.
If my vote could help tip a swing state away from Barky, I would not waste it on a purely symbolic write-in.
It really depends on where you live.

My friends that is a hard sell, politics as usual; and no way to start a presidency to bring the nation back together.
His resume is paper thin and his “Great Judgment,” in my humble opinion, is the result of a lucky call and a position he may not have taken had he had more info concerning the flawed intel. A lot of good people got that one wrong.
There is some truth to the fact that “if you lie down with dogs you may get up with fleas.” Looks like he may some fleas…..Wright, Phleger, Aires, Reszko, …Michelle?

From his home page, a poorly written statement:

Well are you OBOTs ready for some real bad news. I am about to deliver something you never wanted to hear. “THE WHITIE TAPES ARE REAL”. How do you know that for a fact. Well I have talked to that person on the phone. How do you know how bad it is.

I listen to about 2 minutes on the phone. I heard Obama’s wife call Bill Clinton every dirty word there is. I also heard her say “the only reason his wife stuck with him was so she could be a senator. What a ho she is” The person that has a copy of that tape will not release it until the Tuesday before the Election in Nov. He want to destroy Obama, Rev Wright, and Louis Farrahkan. I have begged to get it release early but no way will this person do that. So what we do here really won’t matter in the long run. Obama is toast and I pray Hillary will not have anything to do with him. I will continue to try to get this person to release this tape early.

Comment by Psychosavant | 2008-06-07 15:06:59

I was beginning to doubt the existence of the tape until Obama refused to deny that Michelle would ever say something like that. And I found it odd that he put himself up too. Sounds like he’s not too sure they don’t have him on tape too. At least with the non-denial denial they can’t say that he lied when it comes out.

He could have said “Michelle would never make remarks like that” and then gave the reporter a lecture on asking about rumors. He tried to covey a false confidence that nobody has anything to release.

You don’t go to a church that says that kind of stuff especially if you are a biracial child and were raised by your white relatives. He actually knows better about white people, unless his grandmother telling him black men made her uncomfortable led him to embrace anti white venom.

Why are you people concerned about a rumor? Why are you here dignifying it? Yeah, people believe rumors, but the reason this one works, and you are worried about it, is because even you think Michelle is capable of doing and saying things like this. That tells me all I need to know about you and your blind loyalty to the Obamas.

This wouldn’t be able to get traction and be mentioned by Obama cheerleader Bob Beckel if people didn’t think she might have done it. The best defense against any rumor is your integrity and how you conduct yourself and the image you project. What does it say about your faith in Michelle that you are worried about this? You can’t prove she didn’t do it just as he can’t prove she did, yet.

So, a question to all of you Obamabots, especially the white ones, if this tape is real and is accurate, will you still follow blindly? Or will you give her a pass cause black people shouldn’t be held responsible for their racism? Will black Obamabots be just as outraged over her racism as you were over Imus and Dog the Bounty Hunter?

What will it say about Obama if he has a raging racist in bed with him at night? He can’t disavow her. I guess he could try to get America to believe that he didn’t know, like those people that are married to serial killers and don’t know it. The only problem with that is Trinity was a big sign with it’s black liberation theology.

Comment by Joel | 2008-06-07 15:09:40

Seems to me, if I hadn’t seen the tape, didn’t have the tape, couldn’t say when or even if the tape will be “released”, it might be worth mentioning once or twice, but there doesn’t seem to be any reason to put your credibility on the line by bringing it up more then that.

But, that’s just me.

Comment by shelly | 2008-06-07 15:12:46

Why would Republican operatives tell you about a tape? I would think if indeed there was a tape that they would keep that secret to their grave in case the Obama campaign could start planning for it.

I am thinking more and more that there is no tape but the Republicans just want to start a “whisper campaign” to discredit the Obama campaign now so they told you and you are helping them spread the “whisper campaign”.

Comment by MessyMarcy | 2008-06-07 18:33:33

Or maybe they have noticed how shaky Obama has been acting lately and are just slowly adding to the stress so they can watch and laugh as he tries to respond to inquiries without saying anything too definite one way or the other. Obama has had it easy running his dirty campaign against Hillary because, unlike him, she has an ethical and moral code that she will not violate, even to be President. But now he’s dealing with a group that will not hesitate to use anything they have against him. They won’t even have to swiftboat — there’s enough truth around to beat him decisively. It will be interesting to see how he deals with the humiliating and embarrassing loss McCain hands him this fall.

What a complete joke! So sad to see your irrational hatred of Obama get the better of you, but not at all a surprise.

If this supposed tape existed, it would have surfaced by now, dontchathink? In this day of youtube and 24-7 cable garbage, you cannot keep something like this a secret and this would have surfaced during the primaries because every republican would like (or should I say, would have liked) to see HRC against JM in the GE because she’d be easier to beat with all her baggage.

I love how Larry the Liar keeps changing his tune about this non-existant tape. First he said it was going to be released, and that never happened, then he said five guys named Moe who all do not know each other heard it but couldn’t verifiy it, blah blah blah.

He once said he knew when and where it was recorded, now he says he doesn’t know. And just the fact that Larry the Liar cannot say who has heard it (since no one has) should be a red flag to anyone with a brain.

And then something really doesn’t pass the smell test here. The tape was supposedly made in 2004 and has Michelle talking about Katrina, which didn’t happen until 2005.

And even if Michelle Obama, the scary scary black lady, spoke in a negative way about white people, NO ONE uses the term Whitey anymore you dolts! That was used on ‘The Jeffersons and Sanford and Son’ back in the 70s.

But please, keep it up. This won’t help you get the pony for your birthday, you realize…

Comment by WildChild | 2008-06-07 15:24:23

Even if the tape is a hoax, what’s giving the story legs is that Obama doesn’t seem to be able to flat out say it is a hoax. Then there’s his wife who unfortunately for her has taken personal shots at the Clinton’s. Barack should grow some balls and make a statement that clearly states there is no tape and his wife never said such things.

Hillary made the decison to keep her delegates all the way to Denver. She’ll support Obama, take a long vacation, and let Obama fix the damage because its not up to her to do so. And then she’ll get her votes in Denver, the party will have a nominee, and then everyone can get going. Whether she is nominated from the floor is up to OBama mending fences and rebuilding the party, not tearing it down so he can get ahead.

We her supporters are gold now, we are the ones you need but don’t know it yet and who are defecting. She hasn’t asked us to do anything and since she kept her delegates as far as I am concerned she is still in. And most of us are already looking or have found new candidates to support and vote for. Non-obama candidates, that is.

Have you heard of the Puma party? Party Unity My Ass.

I will vote for whoever runs against Senator Kerry (nice job blocking his strongest threat, Jim Ogonowski - a war hero, shame on the democratic sec of state, must have learned that from you and the Obama campaign) I will vote for Congressman Frank’s republican opponent. I have e-mailed all my personal friends to inform them I am no longer a democrat. I have bought a McCain yard sign. It is shameful what you have done. You are nominating a man with little experience, strong connections to convicted criminals, a twenty year relationship with an afrocentrist church run by a racist, connections to Louis Farrakhan for crying out loud! Great job Dean, Pelosi, and Brazil! The republic 527s are going to have a field day this time around, they won’t have to make stuff up this time. It’s all right there for them. This time I will laugh my butt off.

Sincerely, 1 of 18 million disenfranchised Democrats

P.S. Make sure to keep sending me pleas for donations, preferably by mail, so I can write you a check for $0.00 and have you pay for postage.

He hints at some “information” in this YouTube video.

Definately the tape reference, or clearly more damaging information. It sounds like he too will release not to help her as a Democrat, as he will release it primarily to sink Obama and the democrats for stealing the nomination.

He encourages her at the right time to align herself with the Independent Party. Wow, this is amazing. Thanks for sharing!

I should like to make the point that almost every scandal of major proportions was held by a select few in secret at one point or another. The fact that there is no hard evidence now is neither here nor there.

Take Abu Gharib. How many knew about it beforehand, besides the victims? Probably a few hundred people. They mostly all had an interest in keeping the information quiet. One may conjecture that a few hundred people saw the alleged Michelle rant, either live or on tape. But almost all of those people have an interest in keeping it quiet. Go down the list of recent scandals, like the DC Madam case, the Larry Craig exposure, etc. The contention that the rumor must be false because the information seems too improbable and shocking, and because there is no hard evidence, does not disprove it, any more than the assertions of its existence prove it. So we should wait with patience.

I do not understand the hostility of the anti-Johnson folks, except that they may have the nagging feeling that he could be right. After all, he has been right about things in the past. As I recall, I first came across his name when he wrote about Wm. Ayers, a characters I was suspicious of. This was well in advance of anyone in the media writing about Ayers in connection with Obama.

I know one thing. I am not spending any money on any candidate this time around. (I had contributed to Hillary.) I can understand or forgive her public support for Obama right now. For one thing, like it or not, she must preserve the party’s loyalty to her. After all, if the tape emerges prematurely, she may need to rally the party around her. And I think most of us who have been in senior positions in an organization understand that sometimes you just have to bite your lip and go along with the lemming majority (being careful to stay far enough back that you do not get swept over the edge.)

Obama won’t deny the fact that he is a marxist space alien too, so I guess that’s 100% iron clad proof he really is one?

Man, there are some real dim bulbs here. Are you people this irrational all the time, or only when your queen doesn’t get her birthday cake?

He doesn’t respond to the stupid allegations, because why should he? They aren’t true, are slanderous and ridiculous, and he has no need to give such credence to lies like this.

That’s what you bitter Hillary supporters are for apparently.

Comment by MessyMarcy | 2008-06-07 18:41:47

Good job, Slim. I bet at least 8 more undecided voters switched over to McCain after reading your rant. And thanks for the info about Obama refusing to deny being a space alien. When (and why) did you ask him about this? Is there a video we can post on youtube?

I am doubting more and more that there is a tape.

I think instead that the Republicans have told Larry Johnson this to continue a “whisper campaign” against the Obama campaign.

I there really was such a tape, the Republicans would NOT tell a soul. Instead they would keep it under lock & key to use it at the appropriate time. Why would they tell a Democrat about the tape? That doesn’t make any sense. One thing the Republicans are good at is that they KEEP THEIR MOUTHS SHUT. They would NEVER tell a Democrat, Larry Johnson.

I am thinking more and more the Republicans are trying to involve Larry Johnson in a whisper campaign.

http://clintondems.com/2008/06/breaking-ed-oreilly-secured-ballot-spot-to-challenge-turncoat-kerry-in-sept-primary/

Here’s the breaking news just reported on WBZTV.com, turncoat Kerry’s vote supression tactics felt miserably, and Ed Gloucester attorney Edward O’Reilly got the needed 15 percent of the vote from party leaders Saturday to earn a spot on the ballot.

http://wbztv.com/local/senator.john.kerry.2.742947.html

Kerry supporters hoped to deny O’Reilly a run.
Few think O’Reilly could beat Kerry, but O’Reilly’s candidacy would force Kerry to campaign more this summer. And it could embarrass Kerry, depending on how much support O’Reilly gets.

O’Reilly said he supported Kerry during the 2004 presidential election. But he said he’s running because Kerry has not been strong enough in his opposition to the Iraq War, or his support for gay marriage.

One Kerry apologist has the most laughable and ridiculous reason to urge MA democrats to deny Ed O’Reily a spot on the primary ballot.
http://www.bluemassgroup.com/showDiary.do;jsessionid=D54DD6150502A344C1B11EFCAD9716E7?diaryId=11819

So where do we want John Kerry to spend that time — here in Massachusetts, where his victory in a putative primary is all but a foregone conclusion, or in battleground states fighting to keep John McCain out of the White House and fighting to bring our troops home from Iraq? I choose Option 2

This is one more reason turncoat Kerry apologists have given for us to beat him in a primary fight in September. Ed O’Reilly’s achievement is of no small feat, it is the first primary challenger Kerry has to face in 25+ years!

Vote Ed O’Reilly, and Keep turncoat Kerry at bay!

Comment by drkate | 2008-06-07 16:22:57

I vote number 1.

Good. Kerry has a primary challenge. He should. He did not vote the way his state did as a super delegate; he lost the 2004 election he should have won because he didn’t stand up for himself or all wounded vets from vietnam and succumed to the flip flop charge (for the war before he was against it); his main qualification for Obama is that he’s black; and no he hasn’t done enough to bring the troops home by voting again and again for funding.

Yes, let’s all help his competitor and not let that weak SOB represent the democratic party out on the stump where he lost, lost, lost, lost. He is an embarassment to me. Sideline Kerry, yes. Let’s see how he likes his own tactics.

http://www.boston.com/news/local/breaking_news/2008/06/it_is_official.html

LOWELL – Gloucester attorney Ed O’Reilly got enough support from party officials today to ensure that he will give US Senator John F. Kerry his first Democratic primary challenge in 24 years.

At the state Democratic Party convention at the Paul E. Tsongas Arena, O’Reilly got 22.5 percent of the 2,574 ballots cast, more than the 15 percent he needed to secure a spot on the primary ballot. Kerry got the majority of votes, which means he’ll get the party’s endorsement.

“Party officials said this campaign is a nuisance. And it is. It’s a total nuisance,” O’Reilly said to the convention floor. “Democracy is a nuisance. People said the American Revolution was a nuisance — and it was!”

Kerry, in his fourth six-year term, last had a serious challenge in 1996, from Governor William F. Weld, a Republican. He hasn’t had a primary opponent since 1984, when Kerry and three other Democrats ran for a seat vacated by Paul Tsongas.

Few predict the sitting senator will be vulnerable in a primary race. But it could mean more campaigning this summer – and marks an embarrassment that a former presidential candidate was unable to thwart the challenge from O’Reilly.

The former city councilor and commercial lobsterman had met all the other requirements to secure a spot on the primary ballot, including meeting with party officials, attending scores of local meetings to introduce himself, and gathering 10,000 signatures.

But his highest hurdle was garnering 15 percent of the vote from party leaders today — a requirement Kerry worked to try to prevent.

Kerry took the stage to the sounds of Bruce Springsteen. He was joined by his wife, Teresa Heinz, and his daughter Vanessa.

“I’m here with humility to ask for your support,” Kerry said. “We have literally so much unfinished business … My friends, I have more energy, I feel more focused, I’m more ready for the fight than ever before.

“I ask for your trust and confidence to go back to the senate and help make our country right again.”

In the general election, the winner between Kerry and O’Reilly would face Republican Jeff Beatty, a 55-year-old Army veteran from Harwich.

Republican Jim Ogonowski, who was his party’s favored candidate, failed on Tuesday to qualify for the GOP primary ballot, delivering 30 signatures shy of the 10,000 he needed.

Ogonowski, a 50-year-old Dracut farmer who lost a Congressional bid to Niki Tsongas last year, issued a statement Friday saying he would leave the race.

I hope John Kerry tanks :)

Hi Everyone–

Just a few quick thoughts if I may.

There are many, many ideas as to the most effective way to broadcast our disapproval of the actions taken by the DNC, Democratic party and media.

So, I’ve been thinking….What are our two goals?
From your emails and our discussions (always delightful to talk to my favorite people in the world that I’ve never actually met :-D;
most of us want two things:

Hillary as our nominee and President
No Obama

So, what’s the most effective way to reach our goals?
Meet with McCain.
It’s a platitude that actions speak louder than words. But meeting with McCain—and telling the press he’s our number 2 choice– will speak loudly to the DNC.
More loudly, I believe, than all the rallies, protests or letter-writing campaigns we could muster.
If this causes the SD’s to reconsider Obama at the convention (remote, I admit but possible)–we haven’t given anything away. McCain’s still our #2 choice (after HRC)
If they don’t, we have a strategy and a coalition for how McCain can beat Obama.

If I were to set this up—a meeting with Senator McCain and HRC supporters—perhaps in DC—perhaps somewhere else (Tell me where).
Would you guys come and how many people could you bring? We would need some numbers to make this real.

This is it, guys. This is the way to let them know we’re serious. I know, it feels kind of dangerous.
Let’s do it anyway.

Who is in?
Paulie Abeles
(smile’s back…

P.S.
Most of the issues we (potentially) have with McCain are resolved by the Democratic congress we will certainly have. No radical Supreme Court appointments and Obama has already said he probably won’t be able to get out of Iraq in his first term anyway. McCain is only running for one term. Then, HRC in 2012.

McCain will take us. I signed up for Senator’s Lieberman’s Citizens for John McCain. Within a few hours of Senator Clinton’s concession speech, I received a call from CJM and they wanted to know if I would be interested in responding to any local press inquiries or to speak at local events.

The man listened to my opinion and he did not tell me what I should say- including my demographic. Since I agreed to speak my peace, my info will be sent to John McCain’s team. Regardless if I am ever contacted by the press, I got a real telephone call telling me that my vote counts with McCain. Slick? Perhaps, but I did not receive any call from the Obama folks and they have my number. Remember who mentioned us last week and who did not care.

“Senator Clinton has earned great respect for her tenacity and courage. The media often overlooked how compassionately she spoke to the concerns and dreams of millions of Americans, and she deserves a lot more appreciation than she sometimes received. As the father of three daughters, I owe her a debt for inspiring millions of women to believe there is no opportunity in this great country beyond their reach. I am proud to call her my friend.” McCain.

Larry, thank you for your honesty. You were right when you lambasted the faulty intelligence that took us into Iraq, and you were right when you stood up for Joe Wilson and Valerie Plame. And I’m prepared to be that you are right about a tape existing of Michele Obama’s racist rant. What is really telling is that few people doubt that she could have ranted in this manner; the only question really is whether it was captured on tape. Like you, I could never vote for a unqualified token candidate or for a chameleon-like McCain. However, Bob Barr? He is as unprincipled as McCain, and a partisan hypocrite like the rest of the Republicans who led the Clinton impeachment. Frankly, the only principled, honest-to-a-fault Presidential candidate remaining is Ralph Nader; a true American hero whose efforts to provide clean air, clean water, and safety is now taken for granted by millions of Americans.

I hope someone manages to get a copy and release it before the convention in August.

Obviously, I vote in the swing state of Ohio. I have made up my mind I will NOT vote for Obama. That alone will hurt him because he will need every vote he can get in this state. I feel certain at this point that I can vote for Senator McCain. Our country will not crumble under a McCain presidency, but our democracy will crumble under an Obama presidency.

At this point, I can’t think of anything worse for our country than a validation and acceptance of everything the Dem Party, Obama and his supporters and the media have done. What could possibly hurt our country more than acceptance of disenfranchisement and acceptance of the media and party elites having control over our elections and deciding for us who the next president is going to be. To me that is what a vote for Obama would mean and I will never be a part of that.

I hope Larry has respect for those of us who WILL vote for Senator McCain, just as I have respect for his voting for a third party candidate. Our votes are what are sacred and what we are fighting for.

I live in the swing state of Ohio too. BO wants us to vote independent or for Nader… let’s paint it red for McCain!

This was a nice try at a rational-sounding message, Larry. It’s too bad your thinking about Barack Obama is so dissapointingly shallow. You were a CIA analyst, and you think the talented folk who make the right decisions are really the ones who have been in government the longest? You do know how long Dick Cheney and Don Rumsfeld were in gov, don’t you?

If you can’t articulate a more convincing or substantive reason not to back Barack Obama now that Hilary Clinton has conceded, most people will continue to believe in a reason you haven’t yet asserted - you’re a fuc*ing racist. That’s also why you’re willing to be certain of the existence of evidence you haven’t seen.

I have not spoken directly with the people who have seen the tape, but I have spoken to two of my friends who are friends with..

And both of those friends have been duped, bought or.. they’re liars who know you can be used to sabotage Barack Obama’s campaign.

Which you’ve made a great start on.

Here’s what you should do if you had an ounce of integrity: if the tape doesn’t come out, you should shut your site down. You’re unfit to be shaping the public message, and it’s disgusting that you profit commercially from a fantastic increase in the number of people who think you’re an idiot. I make an effort to avoid coming to your site for that exact reason, though I’ve obviously caved here.

Nah, he should go ask Fox News for a job. They’d love him.

Comment by WildChild | 2008-06-07 15:45:32

I have a reason why we shouldn’t vote for Barack. In the past couple of months the venom and vitriol for Hillary Clinton spouting out of progressive Obama supporters has not only embraced the talking points of the republican party in the nineties but engaged in such a massive campaign of hyperbole (ex, clinton wanting Barack murdered) that you have lost our respect and allegiance for all of time. When we can add your comments about the Clintons at the height of your hysteria to those made by the republicans at the height of theirs and we can’t find any difference any more, that’s because there is no difference.

You may belong to a different party and advocate for different policies, but you share the same mindset with the people we are trying to replace. You’re the reason we can’t support Barack. Without you he’s still a first term senator.

Larry: Ignore these idiots. It is of course an Obamabot. Unity my ass. Don’t give them the time of day. Actually, Larry, we believe you about the tape and I can’t hardly wait for the republicans to bring it out. Wish they would do it now I’d feel lots better. Of course its all about timing to make sure Obama becomes the nominee at the convention in August to be sure there is no more threat of a Hillary candidacy. Obama will never get my vote on any ticket. Keep up the good work. At least we Hillary supporters can trust this site for the truth.

From a PUMA post:

“I am reposting this from the last thread. I think I can see another tactic they are using. (someone let me know if this makes sense to them)Take a water pipe shaped like a (T). The bottom part of the (T ) is where the voters feed their votes into. Going up into the top part where it splits off into votes for Obama on one end and votes for McCain on the other. (This is how it will be if we can’t get Hillary in.) Now look at the line for the votes that are heading for McCain - the Obama people want to poke as many holes in the line as they can. So they poke one hole and siphon off people who will stay home, then they poke another hole and siphon off people who will write Hillary in (In some states this be a vote Obama instead) then they poke another hole and suggest we vote for some candidate that doesn’t have a chance of winning like Ron Paul. When they get so many holes poked in the pipe the only votes that are going to McCain is a slow trickle. That people- gets Obama in. We all know Hillary beats McCain and McCain beats Obama. The thing is no matter what we do we need to be unified to stop Obama. Sorry for the repost I just thought it might be important enough for people to think about.”

Comment by cc | 2008-06-07 16:16:50

I’m with you…to defeat Obama - we MUST vote McCain!

Comment by typical irishman | 2008-06-07 15:44:36

Bring it on!!LOL!! Little did Obama realize there was a JOKER in the deck of race cards, and it is now about to trump Obama’s race card. HOW SWEET IT IS!! Michelle the Mouth and Obama the black Elmer Gantry leading their cult over the cliff. Kick her to the curb Obama, she has thrown a monkey wrench in your “RACE” for the White House. That damned whitey is going to be your downfall after all with a little help from the Michelle the Mouth.

One can judge a person’s character by the company they keep.
Rezko
Wright
Ayers
Pfleger
Auchi
Kahilidi
I will vote MCain if Hillary is not the nominee.
THe DNC is nothing to me. I already left.
At least McCain has MANY women high up in his campaign.
Let’s not forget. McCain has a better voting record on the environment than Barak.
“In 2000, McCain ran for president and reiterated his longstanding opposition to ethanol subsidies. Though it crippled his chances in Iowa, he argued that ethanol was a wasteful giveaway. A recent study in the journal Science has shown that when you take all impacts into consideration, ethanol consumption increases greenhouse gas emissions compared with regular gasoline. Unlike, say, Barack Obama, McCain still opposes ethanol subsidies.” NY TImes The Real McCain Feb. 2008

Obama will go for the senior citizens social security and medicare to pay for his REPARATION act. Vote NO on Obama and YES on McCain if you want to insure the safety of the FDR programs.

Comment by Character Counts | 2008-06-07 16:11:23

Maybe we should thank Obama for creating unity. Not unity within the party though–he and his rude Obamadroids killed that idea. He united people from two political parties that love this country and have discerned the deceptive character of someone unworthy of being POTUS.

Republicans aren’t happy with McCain either but at least there’s no question of his patriotism. He earned his stripes by remaining a POW rather than leave his countrymen. Obama, on the other hand, can’t even decide who the next person will be to have bus treadmarks on their backs. (Sad for granny, Wright, Phleuger, Reczko and his former church pals.)

Comment by jjran | 2008-06-07 16:54:33

add grandma to the list. Next, when the tape comes out about MO she too will be under the bus…. what a weasel. Could you imagine BO in vietnum prison, he would have sold America to the communist to save his ass….what sob…

red flag

My 26yr old just called to see how I was doing after watching Hillary. I told her I was still NOT voting for him but writing in her name.

She thinks I’m nuts. She is convinced Hillary wants us to support BHO. She watched it from work. I told her I was not anyone’s lemming and would decide that on my own.

she again said I’m #$%^ nuts

so be it

still not voting for him

oh then she says, you KNOW she’s gonna be his VP right?

I said - we will see.

So she has convinced those that are not really paying as much attention and perhaps the young Hillary supporters

I’m not there
not ready
not imagining I’ll ever be

so bet it

Comment by Andy | 2008-06-07 16:21:13

I imagine she will convince many. Still would be interesting to see the polls from battleground states in a couple of weeks once her supporters start getting used to the idea of BO vs McCain and the full RNC is out there.
We’ll have to wait till then.

People think we had a “preference” and I am sure that’s true for many. But not for others; how many there will be and the impact will depend on how close it is.

I will never forget what has happened. HRC is a political figure and she did what the DNC wanted and what she had to.

But I am not a politician and I have a mind of my own.
I have the utmost respect for HRC; but I don’t follow anyone’s orders; lest the DNC ones!!!
