Speaking with Dragons

When speaking with dragons, it is wise to know the names of things. True names have great power and if you know the dragon’s name…

I’ve been sitting back, these last few days, watching the dust settle and seeing all the old song and dance routines, the familiar pressures brought to bear in the name of party ‘unity’ for the Democrats. The slow, grinding, patronizing “there, there, now, now” susurrus meant to lull all the plebes back to sleep.

You shouldn’t have woken us up…

“There, there,” they say, “this will all be over soon, like a bad dream and you can go back to your little lives, we’ll take care of everything.” And they are, the maneuvering to neutralize Hillary’s supporters goes on. Maybe they’ll have to give her the VP slot just to shut her up, I’m sure they’ll avoid that if they possibly can – after all, then they’d have to hire a food taster for Obama, wouldn’t they?

…because we’re not going away now…

The point of all the posturing and faux unity nonsense is not to provide a place for the actual winner of the primaries, no, it’s to provide a plausible pretext for saying – to all the ‘bitter’ people: “See? It’s all better now, come home and we’ll talk about it; there, there, now, now.” smooth as butter, “Just walk with us for a little while – until November – and then you can rest.” the sound of unruffled feathers fills the room …

…we have looked behind the curtain…

They’ll play on all the buttons: the “Party Unity” button – “Come on now, Hils, you’ve been a good little Democrat for goin’ on, what now? Forty years? Done what you’re told, toed the line – except for these last few months – but what the heck: forgive and forget, right? Just reel in your white racists, er , uh, disaffected Democrats for us and we’ll give you a big present, mebbe pay off your campaign debts – oh, don’t you worry about that legal stuff, Obama’ll fix that as soon as he takes over. Mebbe, we’ll even make you the VP, eh? How’d you like that? You could snooze all day over at the Naval Observatory, cut ribbons at mini-malls, go to parties, hold a bake sale – anything you want!”

…we have seen through your mask, we know your true name now…

The “Little Lady” button: “Aw, don’t be like that, Hils. You know we didn’t really mean it when we said you an’ Chelsea were whores – that’s just politics, you know nobody means anything they say out there, it’s just BS to rile up the voters so they’ll do what they’re told… well, sure, maybe you meant it but… Sweetie, why don’t you just simmer down and let the menfolk handle things, hmmm? Don’t you worry your pretty little head about it anymore, all right?”

…and you have had so many names through the ages, haven’t you?…

The “Patriotism” button: “You have to swallow your pride now, Hillary, it’s for the good of the country. After all, we let you go on and on through the whole, entire, useless primary season, didn’t we? Even though you knew you we were never going to give it you, right? So now it’s time to step back in line and be a good little soldier for Obama. After all you wouldn’t want that other guy to win, right? So just get your stupid supporters to shut up and do what they’re told and everything will be all right.”

…some names come from the old days: Alcibiades, Dionysius of Syracuse, Caligula, Attila…

After the ’sweeting’ ploys are done, the bouquets scattered on the ground, the courtship over, we’ll begin to see the plan unfold. The disingenuous attacks on patriotism, the false claims of moral superiority, the demonization of the ‘other’. All the classic ploys that each side will now use, identical tactics and strangely similar messages – because there is now no difference between them. The Republican fanatics we have all reviled in past contests for their lies, smears and blatant racism – will now be matched filth for filth by home-grown Democratic thugs.

…some have more recent provenance: Lenin, Beria and Stalin from Russia, Mao from China, Hitler and Goebbels from Germany, Pol Pot from Cambodia, Tojo from Japan…

The grandiose proclamations, like the one today: “no lobbyist money allowed” while the lobbyists’ lawyers sit on all the advisory boards and the money flows, unimpeded. Obama will, no doubt, be ’shocked, shocked’ to discover that “K Street” money has somehow appeared in his coffers.

…oh, and there are others, so many, many others…

The blatant racism that pervades the Obama organization has been subject to a peculiar wrinkle in the fabric of space/time: everyone (the Obamabots, the political world and the media) has agreed to ignore it, rationalize it, invert it – to the point that, if it is ever even mentioned, the transgressor is immediately accused of racism themselves. It will be interesting to see how that strategy works when Michelle’s words with Mrs. Farrakhan are ‘leaked’. They may not remember, but we will.

…they come in all shapes and sizes and colors, they come as ministers or as wise men with words as seductive as a summer dusk; they come as firebrands, burning with passion, keepers of a secret flame; they come as bearers of glad tidings, eager to spread the good, good news…

The themes of the potent demagogue, riding high on the surge of his own rhetoric are legion in our culture. Hubris is the word the Greeks invented to describe the fault: overweening pride and arrogance, sufficient to make the gods take notice and intervene. Calling yourself ‘transformative’ might qualify, comparing yourself to Kennedy, to Lincoln, to… well, who’s next? That might qualify as well.

…so many shifting shapes, so many thin disguises, a veil for every taste, a coin for every sleight of hand…

The dance goes on and on, the steps are set, lines learned, lights on… let the beguiling begin.

…but we know you now, whatever your disguise, despite your soporific words – the sound of silk on silk – the warmth of a mother’s kiss…

Like all the empty men before you, you seek to fill the void inside with the empathy and energy of your acolytes, that is why there is no surcease, no surfeit; there are never enough new followers to fill your need and there never will be. They hear in you the echo of their thoughts because you have no center, all is reflection and refraction, their hopes and dreams meet your event horizon and fall past remembrance into your dark center from which nothing escapes.

…we know what you want, the only thing you want – our grasp released, our embers banked, our brow lowered, eyes unfocused, hands folded – our acquiescence…

The unending cycle now repeats, in a slow chaconne: step – don’t worry, I’ll take care of you, step – give me your allegiance, step – don’t bother with the details, step – I’ll do the thinking for you, step – sign here and then forget, step – now you can sleep again.

…you will not wrest it from us this time, you will have to tread the great wheel again, to another time, another imagining, finding other victims in other dreams of power…

Some, of course, will not collaborate, for any price. The proud who require honor and respect, the stubborn who demand to know the details, the critical thinkers who want positions defined and defended, the questioners who want their questions answered. We who are not satiated with soaring rhetoric (we can do that, too, we’re not impressed) . We who want to know the ‘what’ of what is it you’re planning, the ‘how’ of how you plan to do it, the ‘why’ of why it is you think we should. We have hinted and implied, we have asked and requested, required and demanded and your response has been…silence, eloquent in its quiet thunder… so be it. Now we will answer you.

…for now we know your name, we have no need to speak it, you are already robbed of your power over us. The time has come for you to hear our name – so you will know we mark you, we who will never give in, never forget, never forgive.

Our name is: Nemesis.

All the REAL Hillary supporters on here (the half dozen or so) will heed her words and get behind the next president of the United States- Barack Obama.
All the phony Hillary supporters on here (the clowns from Free Republic, Little Green Goofballs, etc) will ignore what Hillary says and keep pushing the lies and smears about President Obama.

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-06-07 10:16:35

What is it with the obsession to label people?

It’s really a defect of thinking, btw. Nobody can define another person. Work on defining yourself.

Real Democrats, Real Hillary fans, Real this or that.

It’s just too stupid. I wish you trolls would go back to your blogs. I feel like I’m talking with teenagers.

Comment by Ivory Bill Woodpecker | 2008-06-07 16:44:55

AnninCa: You probably are talking with teenagers, at least as far as their psychological development is concerned. ;)

Comment by SBwa | 2008-06-07 10:19:01

We ARE real Hillary supporters and WILL NOT get behind Obama. Whatever she says today, it is just because she has been forced to do so by the party. She is a team player and loyal to the party even though it has betrayed her and 18 million voters.

Comment by Factcheck2 | 2008-06-07 10:46:04

Yeah, but why is she being a team player instead of the next president? Not to belabor the point, but she rates higher among American voters right now than either of the other candidates, yet she’s the one capitulating and putting her Good Housekeeping stamp of approval on a stolen election. The media knows the public wants her, that’s why they’ve carried out such concerted campaign against her. And half of the Obama trolls posting comments on all these websites are either paid operatives of Karl Rove or conservatives volunteering to help get Clinton off the November ballot. (Click on my screen name for more on this.)

There’s something wrong with this picture. Sen. Clinton should be announcing her run as an Independent today, since she IS the only Democrat who can win in November. Obama will be lucky if he carries Illinois. If she meant what she said all this time, it makes no sense to throw behind Obama. Is someone drugging her food?

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-06-07 10:53:28

Hillary is not a stupid woman. You can’t run a 3rd party run overnight.

That’s not realistic. Moreover, why should any of us back down and let them steal the party?

She lost health care, too, once. Now, the world knows her plan is the best. You lose. You get up and fight again another day.

Ditto for me.

My candidate lost. I am not at all discouraged. Just get out there and vote them out.

One by one. Every stinking insider who pulled this con job off.

Vote them out.

Don’t you dare tell me I am not a real Hillary supporter. I love her and will support her always but if she is out of the race I am going to think for myself and support McCain. So are millions of others — if you checked lately Obama is sinking like a rock in the polls. Go tell Obama that just hiring trolls from Palestine is not going to do this for him.

Great post! Before the RBC meeting on May 31, I always believed that only Republicans practiced dirty, back room politics. After the vote on the Michigan delegates, I realized (painfully) that dirty politics crosses party lines. So this year I’m forced to choose between the lesser of two evils. I’m living by the old saying, “Better the devil you know” and choosing McCain.

I am just praying all the people who said they will not vote for Obama will stick to their guns. A real message needs to be sent to the Democratic Party that we will no longer take their left wing candidates. I have been a Democratic my whole life, but why should I support a party when I am told that I am not needed.

The wont have to swiftboat Obama. The swiftboat ad’s were lies. With Obama all they have to do is expose the truth. I can just hear all of these little Obamatons crying already…why didn’t you tell us he was a thief and racist. They will be crying in their dorm rooms all day hiding from everyone who was smart enough to read Obama’s history. Then sneak out after it gets dark to scrub off the Obama 08 bumper stickers in shame. Maybe some good can come from it though. Maybe we can start a used Obama Tshirt drive after he loses all 50 states, and give them to the homeless. We’d have to ship them to overseas homeless of course, no one in this country will want to wear one. And maybe we could get one or two with enough courage to admit being hoodwinked and Bamboozled (as Obama would say) and have them do PSA’s on the importance of actually learning about your candidate rather than voting in complete ignorance. Then for an ironic ending, we can take the wood from all the Obama 08 sign, recycle it and have it used for Kool Aid packaging!

Those you see following the Obamessiah are not Democrats, though the species may try to look similar. They are in fact nothing but JACKASSES!

WOW! I can’t believe a website like this exists!! It sounds exactly like the mass hysteria and hatred that built up around Bill Clinton before and after his presidency. Don’t you people remember all the scandals in the Clinton days?? All the stuff that followed them from Little Rock?? How could you engage in the same witch hunt the republicans did back then??? Obama is no more radical or corrupt than the Clintons were accused of being back then!! Hillary has been so gracious and has decided to throw her support behind Obama. Why can’t you?? It strikes me as very hypocritical considering that most of you probably supported Bill, and it also strikes me as proof that “Operation Chaos” is working! Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, both of whom have built carreers on criticizing and demonizing Hillary, must both be so happy to see you all have fallen for their antics! That explains why creepy John McCain has been brazenly courting bitter Hillary supporters. John McCain!!??? Are you serious??? You’d vote for him over Barack Obama??? Please, someone enlighten me!!

We as taxpayers spent 70 million dollars to find NOTHING on the Clintons. Give it a rest, you have your candidate he was delcared to be by so called pundits and party elders. He will never be legitimate in my eyes. All he is, is a far left empty suit and I think we have already been down that road but are being forced to go down it again. You will be dissapointed believe me.

20 Year of anti-American hate filled white hatred in the Black Liberation Marxist Theology Church.

If Obama/Marxist is such a leader why didn’t he try to change his church? Because he believed what it was preaching.

It goes beyond Rev. Wright. Read some books by Cone, et al. We are told Obama/Marxist is so smart so articulate so educated – so you want me to believe he did not agree with the rantings in that church.

No, sir, you need to enlighten me because I think for that one fact alone that he sat in the pews of that church for 20 years listening and absorbing that crap is enough in itself to disqualify him for the job of prez.

People just want to say oh, but what about Hagee. John McCain did not sit in Hagee’s church for 20 years. I wish people would actually read books on the Black Liberation Marxist Theology instead of trying to defend something they know nothing about.

Watch out, Michelle Obama/Marxist is coming for a piece of your pie.

JUST SAY NO TO BLACK LIBERATION MARXIST THEOLOGY

NO OBAMA/MARXIST
REST IN PEACE “THE OLD DEMOCRATIC PARTY”

I recognize Nancy Pelosi from Corporate America. The Nancies attempt to kick the ladder out from under them in an attempt to keep other women from competing. Women slightly below the Nancies watch The Nancies carefully for the moment at which they stand too close to a Corporate hole. Then they gleefully help to kick the Nancies into the hole and add some dirt. Nancy Pelosi has that look and that tone. She doesn’t want her position as the most powerful woman in America threatened. Don’t stand too close to that Political hole, Nancy, ya’hear?

I will not allow the media–the Democratic Party or these trolls to manipulate me. Today they forced this great lady to give in to a prop the media wants to foist on us. I will not allow Hillary (whom I respect) to sell Obama to me either. The media is trying to promote Hillary supporters as pathetic–uneducated–lonely. I am none of those. Comment by Kübler-Ross | 2008-06-07 08:33:06

I think many of Clinton’s supporters are currently in the middle stages of the Kübler-Ross model of grief, namely, Anger (Obama/Pelosi/Dean stole this form Hillary! I’m voting for McCain), Bargaining (Obama must choose Hillary as VP!), and Depression (The party has left me behind! I’m not even going to vote at all). I believe we saw the last of Denial with her speech on Tuesday. Hopefully within the next week or so, they’ll finally arrive at Acceptance.

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-06-07 08:54:30

What utter psychobabble. Hillary’s speech was absolutely appropriate. She just won South Dakota. Mr. Sensitive, of course, made sure he timed his self-nomination to take the wind out of her sails. Didn’t work well, did it?

Took the wind out of HIS sails. Smart boy, you got there.

She spoke to HER supporters.

The demand that she concede immediately was foolish, simply reinforces everything we’ve been saying about the double standard, and gave hatefilled people an opportunity to write one last ridiculous critique of her every move.

Reasonable people just don’t think that way. She spoke to us, to her people. She was not in denial.

That’s psychobabble trash talk.

Comment by Annie Oakley | 2008-06-07 13:38:49

You know KR has a point. I did go through the 5 stages of grief:

Denial: The Dem Party couldn’t be this stupid.
Anger: Damn! How could they be this stupid?
Bargaining: Dear Lord, I will give up swearing if Hillary wins.
Depression: The party has left me.
Acceptance: Yes, I can vote for McCain.

Comment by HankinPA | 2008-06-07 08:56:18

There are 2 kinds of acceptance. One is accepting that Hillary is not the candidate – I am there, but things could change by August (not holding breath). the second kind is supporting Obama. I would have supported a different candidate, such as edwards, but not Obama. It is not because of his running against and beating Hillary, it is because of his experiences, and lack of experiences.

Comment by Risk Assessment | 2008-06-07 09:39:12

Granted, things could change by August, but I think you recognize how unlikely this is. The Intrade prediction market puts Clinton’s odds at worse than 20-to-1. Personally, I think the real odds are an order of magnitude worse. The question is how much you are willing to risk for your expected payoff. Are you willing to risk Roe v. Wade? Staying in Iraq? A new war with Iran? Education funding? Affordable health care? More state-sanctioned executions? A continuation of our failed drug policies?

Don’t be deceived into thinking a vote for Obama is just a vote for Obama (likewise with Clinton and McCain.) A President does not work alone. He or she brings along a whole host of advisors and underlings, and they will be immensely influential in the executive decision-making process. Obama’s team has demonstrated an ability to use the rules and intricacies of the system to their advantage by being pragmatic, realistic, and non-ideological.

Comment by ulahane | 2008-06-07 09:44:45

LOL. Another Obama talking points parrot. Obama can’t be trusted. He has NEVER followed through on his campaign promises.

I can’t vote for that man. Listen to his flip-flopping on Israel just this week alone.

He’s so inexperienced that it hurts to even think about him being in charge of anything!

Good grief, this isn’t about “grief.” This is about sheer survival!

He is not remotely ready to be president.

McCain? I know what he’s about already.

the re-education spin begins……heh heh

but let me say to to the faux kubler-ross shill: if you are at all familiar with how the theory works, the stages do not necessarily come in order. myself, i’m into acceptance first(the ordaining of a vastly underexperienced heterosexual male over an incredibly experiences women who actually beat the guy by almost a million votes if we count fla and mich as they were voted by the people)….then, yada yada yada….the last stage for me will be anger.

what a surprise.

also, for the record…..the grief process says nothing about one forgetting that which is grieved. yet,one learns to eventually go forward. which in this particular case, as you can see, many of us are moving forward,(ie;away from the un-democratic party)….onto a .different party, different candidate, etc….

a good thing to keep in mind…..one cannot resurrect the dead.
the Democratic party died and buried itself this election cycle. the last piece of dirt shovelled on happened last wkend with the travesty of a complete perversion of justice by the dnc rules committeee,

the republican arm of the democratic party are going to have a very big wake up call in nov.

DNC, may it R.I.P.

may it rest in peace. amen.

Comment by Erasmus | 2008-06-07 10:54:40

It is precisely because i am trying to pre-empt a grief reaction that I will be voting to sink Obama. He will never be POTUS. Hillary will sooner or later. Deal with it.

you are delusional..my vote was stolen..get that…stolen to make this guy go ahead in the delegate count..i will never ever support anyone who benefits the theft of my vote..do you understand that..can you possibly understand having your vote stolen????????

i didn’t think so..and now to break the rules again thw DNC to benefit Obama gave back 1/2 of my vote..fuck them..they will never steal my vote and get my support of that..ever..it would be un- American for me to do so.

I will vote for the opposing party ..of the thiefs who stole my vote.

and Fuck anyone who tells me anything ..I am an American first…people sacrificed and died for my vote to be counted.

And it was Obama and the Obama surrogates in the DNC who stole my vote..end of story there sparky…the DNC and Obama will pay the consequences for stealing my vote..every action has a reaction and there are consequences for those actions.

End of story.

You can not steal my vote and get away with it..won’t happen.

It is a very simple concept…

and counting it now?? now???????? when it won’t count ..no…won’t work sparky!!

that will only solidify my anger at having my vote stolen..

maybe you are young and stupid..i am not.

the DNC Obama surrogates all ready told me..they don’t need me..and they didn’t count my vote..so fuckem!

Hell could freeze over..Obama will never ever ever get my vote..and the $50,000. bucks i gave the DNC in 2004..will go to candidates that will run against the fuckers who stole my vote this time!

and i mean business!

oh and McCain will get some too!

Some how I feel that those who choose to stay home instead of voting (either way) are saying that it makes no difference to them
about where their country is heading.

Those who choose to vote for someone with no experience, with no policies and no faith in
themselves, are saying they have no faith in their ability to think and solve problems.

Who is covering Hillary’s speech?

I know what voting for McCain DOESN’T mean. It doesn’t mean that the same horse’s asses and marxists who tried to take over Democracy a number of other times won’t be succeeding this time either. These radicals gave us Nixon twice. And George Bush The FIrst. The fact of the matter is, these two jerks were preferable to being a subjugated block of Americans. That is a grave problem with these people and you should be concerned just like the rest of us. If you aren’t then you don’t understand the radical fringe in the Democratic party who couldn’t make it in their own parties. Fortunately you don’t need to understand this, because the majority of this party is moderate. This is nothing but I re-run.

Comment by SFHillary | 2008-06-07 11:23:44

McCain will appoint hardcore conservatives as the next two Supreme Court justices. Combined with Alito and Roberts, that is damage to the U.S. that will not be undone for two generations, if ever. That many Supremes will be able to change voting laws enough to make it impossible for minorities or women or progressives of any kind to have any realistic chance of winning national elections. Ever again. American democracy is hanging in the balance here.

Uppity, I have to say, you seem to have a bit more IQ going for you than most of the people on this board. How can you not see the truth of what I’m saying? Do any of you understand that the *real* assault on voting rights in America is not the idiotic DNC sideshow, but the recent Supreme Court ruling on voter ID rules? Do you any of you understand this at all? Please, someone address a real issue here!

Comment by gregoryp | 2008-06-07 15:09:50

I’ve only got multiple advanced degrees in Biology and Physics so I am kind of simple. As a result I can’t possibly figure out why someone should not have to prove their identity when every person in America already has a SS card, a driver’s license or a state issued ID card, plus many have passports or military ID cards. Not wanting people to prove who they say they are reeks of condoning corruption and rigged elections. The goal should be getting every single person eligible to vote to do so. Free of chaos, chicanery, dirty tricks, and all the other permutations. One person, one vote.

Comment by TeakWoodKite | 2008-06-07 15:44:00

If McCain appoints “conservative” Pelicans so be it. If the alternative is BO facistic Marxism then I will glad for it. Please don’t bring up Roe… it is gone. Look at South Dakota lately?

A few points SFHillary, from someone who has less IQ going for me than Uppity,(nothing more incredible than a woman with more IQ :) )

1) The voting rights you speak of are gone. Thanks to the DNC’s actions by changing the diaper on the RNC’s love child. If you need confirmation of this, look at how many votes in any US election are counted.

2)Senator McCain is well aware of the dangers in the world and will not seek to patonize thoose who murdered Americans as BO will.

3) We will be at war with Iran if BO is elected. The negotiating BO is capable of is to sell us out for personal gain and the Mullahs look at BO as a quizzling and they are correct in this. Since the 1970’s it has been a proxy war with Iran. It won’t be with a BO administration

4) How can anyone vote for an individual that is immoral? Can you? I can’t.

This is a beautiful well written article that anyone who hates Obama should be proud of.

the funny thing is when you were talking about being lulled to sleep it was totally like my dream that I have been having every night for the past few weeks.

The crazy thing is, the dream doesn’t happen when I am actually asleep it happens right before I fall asleep.

I am convinced that other people are having the same dream in kind of a “psychic connection” that we share through our hatred and loathing. Unfortunately I am having trouble getting anyone to confirm this suspicion.

Please if there is anyone out there who has had this exact dream or a similar dream write back and let me know. Our time has come to take back the whitehouse.

We will ride in on our bellowing herd of Pumas and no one, not John Dean, not Jimmy Carter, and certainly not JImmy Dean will ever stop us. Here is how it goes:

I have a dream every night before I go to bed, I am kind of half awake. It is about Hillary and she is an eagle but her upper torso is a woman kind of like a harpy.

And she has boobs but it is not terribly erotic because she is kind of a geezer, but she is still beautiful and majestic.

Anyway in this dream I am always dressed in bearskin, but I ma riding on a polar bear and I have huge muscles. And I am crying and Hillary swoops down and wipes a tear from my eye with her wing.

And although I am awake I am not touching myself or anything.

But I think this is Hillary’s way of telling me that she hates all of the Obamabots as much as we do.

Does this osund familiar to anyone but me??!! Come on peeps? Someone else has had this dream???

Comment by pumaeagle | 2008-06-07 07:11:45

I have to repond to myself here because I didn’t want anyone to think I was scamming or trolling.

I use two well actually a few different screen names, but I am not trying to conceal my identitiy.

I Evolved from Gamzualtov (which is Russian for “United in hatred and self pity”

To gamzulagriffin Which I chose because I wanted to symbolize the combination of the eagle and the puma together

And then I actually wrote as pumaeagleforclinton because my other name was not working. So it really is me gamzulagriffin.

BTW I have a great idea for a hate themedpolice action show that believe it or not, I really think Hillary might be able to star in.

I know it sounds crazy but hear me out before you pass judgement.

I will post about it later.

PS Thank you to the moderator for adding “a little something to my messages” I think I know where you are coming from and your “secret” is safe with me.

In the aftermath of the Democratic National Convention, the party’s nominee, Michael S. Dukakis, has expanded his lead among registered voters over Vice President Bush, the probable Republican nominee, according to a Gallup Poll.

This was among the findings of a national public opinion poll of 948 registered voters conducted late last week for Newsweek magazine by the Gallup Organization. The telephone interviews took place on July 21, which was the last night of the convention, and on the night after that.

Fifty-five percent of the 948 registered voters interviewed in the poll said they preferred to see Mr. Dukakis win the 1988 Presidential election, while 38 percent said they preferred to see Mr. Bush win. The poll had a margin of sampling error of plus or minus four percentage points.

“Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly? Because her father is Janet Reno.”

- John McCain

If you think voting for McCain is a vote against Hillary hatred, there’s the pin to burst your bubble. He’s a misogynist of the fine old boy style. He also called his wife a “cunt” at a public event. He’ll also stack the supreme court with pro-life conservative.

Hate women? Vote McCain!

Comment by Ivory Bill Woodpecker | 2008-06-07 07:13:30

We expect misogynistic slipups from Republicans. It is harder to tolerate in Democrats, who are supposed to know better. The Democratic Party must be taught that it will pay a price for anointing a sneeringly misogynistic lightweight with a resume the size of a postage stamp. [h/t Uppity]

Comment by Lucinda | 2008-06-07 07:23:06

Page 32/Paragraph 3/The Book of Trolls
When there’s nothing left to argue, bring up John McCain supposedly calling his wife a c**t and the pro-life argument.

Repeating it over and over again won’t make the argument any more persuasive. We’ve had 5 Republican presidents since Roe vs. Wade, and it hasn’t been overturned yet. Besides, most states have their own laws now regarding reproductive rights.

Comment by Walter | 2008-06-07 07:39:35

Well, the case that you have to vote McCain doesn’t seem like a practical way to advance women in politics either in the short term or the long term. It really is cutting off your nose to spite your face.

I’m having a hard time seeing how Obama is a misogynist anyway.

Comment by Lucinda | 2008-06-07 08:17:12

It really is cutting off your nose to spite your face.

No. The Democratic leadership has done that by promoting Obama in order to oust the Clintons from the party.

Comment by Five Thirty | 2008-06-07 09:01:07

Look — the DNC rigged the primaries. You are not going to see many Democrats with integrity rushing to the polls in November, especially if they, like myself, considered HRC to be the only candidate capable of dealing with the big multi-faceted mess the USA is in now (dealing with it in an honorable fashion, and one that does not rob the citizenry).

Comment by SFHillary | 2008-06-07 09:50:55

LOL this section of the thread is priceless. The guy is on the record making the most ugly possible remarks about Chelsea Clinton and his own wife (his second wife, that is; he ditched his first wife after she stood by him for 20 years of his captivity and rehab and married another blonde 20 years younger and way richer), and he’ll definitely put the swing vote on Roe v. Wade onto the Supreme Court, whereas Obama would definitely nominate a liberal Justice who’d protect Roe and endless other issues that HRC progressives are supposed to care about, but — hey, no problem! We hate Obama and we’re voting for McCain! Because we’re feminists!

Comment by ulahane | 2008-06-07 10:01:06

If a ten year old joke, which McCain apologized for ten years ago, and the Clintons accepted ten years ago, is an issue for you then you really need therapy.

However, when is Obama going to apologize for twenty years of support, including financial, to a church that promotes hatred of White America? When is Obama going to apologize for promoting a rapper , Jay-Z, who seems unable to write lyrics that don’t talk about “b*ithches” and “hos?”

Comment by SFHillary | 2008-06-07 09:55:07

Obama is a Republican? I thought he was too liberal? I thought he was a Communist?

You lunatics can’t even keep your ideology straight. You are a hate site? You hate Obama. You have nothing else rational to say. Period.

My favorite thing I’ve read here are the comments that you don’t care if a McCain appointee is the swing vote on Roe v. Wade — as will almost surely be the case if McCain is elected — because your younger sisters should have known better than to abandon HRC in the primary, so tough on them.

I’ve read that a number of times already on NQ, and it made me realize everything I need to know about you people and your hideous little “movement.” That you delude yourself into thinking you’re doing this on behalf of HRC, a great woman, great feminist, great Democrat and great American, is beyond sad — it is tragic in an epic sort of sense.

Comment by SFHillary | 2008-06-07 09:59:09

There is no tape of that remarks — just three other reporters on the record as having heard him say it.

There is tape, of course, of McCain laughing at a man who asked him at a campaign event last year “how are we going to beat the bitch?” McCain laughed and said “That’s a good question.”

So sure, vote for that asshole in loyalty to HRC. Whatever. Reason has nothing to do with this group — just hatred.

Comment by Karma | 2008-06-07 10:51:28

No one here hates Obama. If that is what you read then take it up with person in the mirror.

Each of us have our line in the sand that Obama crossed. To vote for him would be to toss honor, integrity, and most importantly our country aside.

Once again, the fact you don’t understand that, only reflects poorly on you.

It doesn’t matter how many insults, pleas, R v W, or SCOTUS, arguments Obama supporters bring to the table, the answers will be the same.

I will not toss my honor or country out simply to make nice. That isn’t what honor or integrity is about. That is also something that Obama knows NOTHING about.

He doesn’t care about the people Hillary or McCain does. The only people Obama cares about is the rich. The rest is just campaign lies.

Obama’s house is perfect example of how he’ll run the country. Enriching himself and his money men at the expense of the people he claims to help.

No thanks….you can take the grifters.

I demand more from the people I vote for.

We will choose between Obama and McCain. The DNC and MsNBC think that people are herds of sheep that will follow their leader. Not us. Ignore the trolls is hard to do and I don’t always manage. In fact I fall into the trap of trading insults with them far too often.

But this piece, in it’s beauty, clarity and truth is so much more than the momentary satisfaction of swatting an Obamainsect. Treasure these words. They are important and heartfelt. And treasure the person who has the talent to write them.

Time Magazine has at least two pieces of obamapropaganda in this issue.

One is “guilty as hell and free as a bird” Ayers is not such a bad guy afterall according to Kinsley.

UTTER BS – and I’ve felt that way for decades.

The people he injured and the families of the people he killed do not agree with this statement.

The obama apologists are saying his “rivals” are wrong to make an issue. HA!

http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1810338,00.html

The other article is some dimwit saying WOMEN didn’t vote for Hillary in large numbers. But she fails to take all the Black women for obama into her numbers.

Duh, 90 percent of black women for obama would change the over-all WOMEN vote just a tad.

Hillary still ROCKED the WOMENS vote – despite nearly every single Black woman voting against her.

Screw TIME they are the ones who published that lovely picture of Hillary bound on the railroad tracks with the hideous look on her face. They embody every sexist idiotic push point of this entire year and I wouldn’t line my bird cage with their POS magazine.

They also did a praise piece on McCain. That is where their loyalty will be for the rest of the season. They just wanted to kill off Hillary and demean her so their real candidate would face ob.

Get ready obamabots – assume the position.

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-06-07 08:30:03

I’m afraid you are right about the ongoing attack on Hillary. Of course, I guess it’s to be expected. Everyone knows the better candidate lost. That’s a terrible way to start his GE race.

But they really cannot do more than was attempted during the primary. Hit pieces won’t work. Neither will hit pieces on Bill Clinton.

Nothing, frankly, will work. There is no way to take back actions. The appalling attempts to get her to quit. The silence when Obama was trashing her character. The whining when she said anything remotely critical (and very true) about him. You’re hurting the party!

Did they not realize that all of us were sitting here thinking, “What the fuck? He’s running ads that she’s untrustworty. How is that not hurting the party if she wins?”

That’s why we all not this was rigged. It was OK for him to do it because they weren’t about to let her win.

The Democrats made a huge mistake with this plan. They have now mobilized a huge portion of their own party against them. And after the behavior this year of the progressives on their blogs, there will be no reason to even be remotely polite about how we go about this.

All of these jokers need to have to spend a shitload of money to regain their seats. We need to seed candidates against them. We need to remain active on the down-ticket and make SURE they know what payback really is about.

A lot of them haven’t even had to really campaign in years. It’s time they did something for that fat job they have where they think they can pull these tricks while sounding morally superior.

Never again is right.

That’s the underlying unpleasantness about Obama. He found his calling through following self-indulgent demagogues and self-proclaimed revolutionaries. They raised him up in their image. As to how harmful he would be I cannot predict. The one problem I already detected is that he seems as lazy as Bush, delegating the crucial tasks to syncophants. And we all witnessed how that can be as destructive as having a evil tyrant in the seat of power.

the Dragon has indeed been wakened all over this land. there will never be enough opiate of obama to drug us into torpor.

personally, speaking just for me, i know way too much to put the head back into the sand… to drink the reprogramming of the masses DNC kool-aid…to be swayed in any way even if Sen Clinton is at VP. i will not be used and abused by a group of folks who have just blatantly trampled Democracy. not to even go into the litany of wrongs against Sen Clinton.

it’s about way more than that now. and i think we are all pretty clear about that.

Larry, It isn’t about winning or losing, it is about restoring this country. If you can’t get past this and recognize the Democrats had two very qualified candidates and your choice did not win, then restoring this country is lost.

As a person who built his career on analyzing situations, I would think you would have the insight to realize this. I must say I am disappointed.

All I can say is thank God a majority of Democrats don’t think as you do, both Obama and Hillary will take this country in the direction it needs to go to restore it as the functioning super power we have been and with respect.

But this continual attack on Obama is to the point of extreme and when that happens, credibility in your words are lost. Failing to recognize that both these candidates have the good of the nation at hand is only extremism.

Comment by David Axisrutt | 2008-06-07 08:06:31

You’re right Melissa. It’s not about winning or losing. Larry understands that. As do 99% of the regulars in here. As do almost none of the Obamatrons.

What we disagree about is your Kool-Aid induced belief Barry is good for anyone. That’s where we strongly disagree. All of us against the one of you (and whoever else has been sent out by Saruman Axelrod today).

(BTW that’s a good touch he’s using now – females or at least female names. I’m surprised he didn’t think of it before.)

But there are reasons for this diversity of opinion. Most of us here grew out of Kool-Aid about the time we learned to think critically and do our own research. ‘Research’ is defined by dictionary.com as:

diligent and systematic inquiry or investigation into a subject

Such as Barry Hussein Obama.

You might try it sometime.

Comment by David Axisrutt | 2008-06-07 08:09:29

Second look at this Melissa troll: it should be obvious Axelrod’s people – or a really dumb dupe for him – is behind this. Migod the language is so blatantly transparent.

That’s always been a major failing of the Obamatrons: they can’t understand hardly anyone is as dense and dumb as they are. ;)

Comment by joeysky | 2008-06-07 08:10:40

Contradicting to the propaganda, the reality is DEM doesn’t have 2 very qualified candidate.

DEM has 1 qualified candidate, and 1 inexperienced, no tracked record, never stand up for any principle, have no clue how to handle the war, don’t have any policy of his own just copy & paste from everyone else.

The most fatal weakness is he has 20 years connection with radical people who hate America and white people. If he doesn’t share their value, why he spent so much time with them.

DEM doesn’t have 2 very qualified candidate. And it chose to SELECT the weak candidate over a sure winner. And it has to deal with the consequence in November.

Comment by LN | 2008-06-07 08:11:07

Do your research “Melissa”…we cannot be so easily duped. All you have to do is look at videos of nobama’s “spiritual advisors” ranting from the pulpit to see extremism in action. And that’s only one example.

We cannot be bought or placated. It’s too late.

John McCain will be the next president of the United Sates of America.

Comment by David Axisrutt | 2008-06-07 08:11:16

Failing to recognize that both these candidates have the good of the nation at hand is only extremism.

So that’s a threat in other words. Migod Axelrod is good. You don’t like Barry and you’re branded a ‘bad thing’. Axelrod is brilliant. He’s the Son of Satan but he’s brilliant.

We haven’t really even discussed Obama in this thread. We’re talking about the Democratic Party antics.

Now, pretty soon there will be plenty of threads on Obama. His latest ridiculous performance on Israel is just a taste of what an incompetent candidate does to himself when he talks. He says one thing. Backpeddels.

That’s because he doesn’t really know what the hell he’s talking about in foreign policy.

That is what you are supporting: Someone who is incompetent.

Comment by LN | 2008-06-07 08:45:53

Comment by David Axisrutt | 2008-06-07 07:59:59

they’d have to hire a food taster for Obama

That’s a job that would be almost impossible to fill. How do you catalogue 18 million applicants? Think of the paperwork. Where will you actually archive all the applications? The vacant lot Tony Rezko owns next to Barry’s house in Kenwood? The White House lawn? A football stadium? Area 51? And who’s going to read through them all? And how do you call 18 million people to an HR interview? Are you going to send terrestrial mail to them all? How much is the postage and handling for that? Or by electronic mail – 18 million messages? Who the F’s going to send them out? And if you do contact them all and they’re all decided to come – which they of course will: where are they going to stand in line? On the streets of DC? And how long will they have to wait on an average? How many years will this selection process take? Can they finish before Barry’s impeached or otherwise removed from office? You’d need a logistics expert just to organise the danged thing. And there could be a lot more than 18 million applying. Anywhere up to 250 million is a reasonable estimate – as long as you lock the borders and don’t allow foreign nationals or aliens from other solar systems.

This could be an almost impossible task so it’s best we get working on it right away!

;)

I know quite a few people that originally didn’t like her, now admire her for standing up to the crock being shoved down our throats. Many people at work told me they are staying home. It’s a pretty pathetic scene. My heart broke last Monday when I went & changed to Independent. I felt like 28 yrs of my life was a waste as far as my politics. Larry, It isn’t about winning or losing, it is about restoring this country. If you can’t get past this and recognize the Democrats had two very qualified candidates and your choice did not win, then restoring this country is lost.

Obama couldn’t restore an antique hardwood floor, let alone a country. The only thing he’s qualified to be is a carnival barker — that baritone is beautiful.

Comment by David Axisrutt | 2008-06-07 08:35:16

You know I realize what Hillary is doing she feels she “must” do for the good of the Democratic party. However “I” and allot of others do not feel the same way. I’m so sick of the race card. (sure some really won’t ever vote for a black/mixed man) For me…it’s all about this..”who is the next POTUS that “we the people” select get us out of the mess we are in now” You don’t have to do all the ‘look inside yourself’ bit because it’s right in your face. ANYONE but Obama. Anyone!
This is one ‘fired up’ Democratic for McCain!

Comment by POdVet | 2008-06-07 08:13:21

Melissa, you are right, it’s not about winning or losing. It’s about truth. Obama has nothing in his history but corruption, racism and radical ties. We’ve had a thief and liar in the White House for the last 7 years. And now you want us to put another one in? NO THANKS! That no class liar couldn’t even tell the truth about whether he still smoked or not. How the hell can you believe him when he says he didn’t know Rev Wright was a hate filled anti-American racist. He literally pushed through the legislation in Illinois that made Rezko’s pay to play kickback schemes possible. And all those who funneled kickbacks to Blag’s campaign also funneled kickbacks to Obama’s campaigns. Obama does not belong in the White House, he belongs in prison plain and simple. And I would not be surprised at all if come October the RNC unveils the biggest October surprise of all time and indicts Senator Obama on multiple charges of corruption with enough proof “leaked” to show he is undeniably guilty.

Those you see following the Obamessiah are not Democrats, though the species may try to look similar. They are in fact nothing but JACKASSES!
P.U.M.A.

Comment by David Axisrutt | 2008-06-07 08:32:40

Obama does not belong in the White House, he belongs in prison plain and simple.

He’s lucky he’s not there now. 3 of the last 7 Illinois governors are in the stir and Blag is headed there too. Looks like the FBI just missed Barry this time. But they’ll get him next time.

Just imagine if he did make it to 1600. Whoa. And then the FBI bust the White House? Oh cool. Sounds like the plot of a gangsta novel.

Comment by SFHillary | 2008-06-07 10:27:23

What crimes do you think Obama has committed? I’m genuinely curious.

And, a follow-up question: if you know enough to have an educated belief that Obama has committed crimes, then surely HRC’s team must know? If so, then why didn’t they get the information out in time to defeat him in the primary?

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-06-07 10:41:15

He has a long-term relationship with Rezko and most of his bundled money are connected. Rezko didn’t just raise money. They were so tight it went into buying property together.

Now, we know he voted for a horrible energy bill due to his lobbyist connections. Nothing illegal about that. Unethical, yes.

We don’t know exactly what Rezko got from the relationship yet. Jobs for his buddies on the hospitals? That’s documented. A blind eye to his slumlord illegal practices? That’s documented.

More shall be revealed, no doubt.

These assholes think they can put a gun to Clinton’s head, force her to be enthusiastic and support Obama, and we’ll “go along.” NO. It’s not JUST ABOUT CLINTON.

That is an element, but it’s not the whole story.

The misogyny will NOT be forgotten. The behavior of the DNC in perpetuating it, encouraging it, fostering it, will NOT be forgotten.

The Vote Stealing will NOT be forgotten, either. You don’t arbitrarily declare that certain states are only half people, and you don’t “invent” votes for people who took their own fucking name OFF the ballot. Unless you’re a fucking CHEATER, that is.

Bad behavior will have consequences. The consequences to the DNC will be a loss of millions in donations, membership….and President McCain. Those assholes had best wrap their peabrains around that very real idea. We’re not moving on, and we aren’t getting over it. FUCK THEM.

GE Nuclear Reactors = NO Containment!

Keith Olbermann: “GE is a good boss.”

MSNBC’s entertainment today consisted of an “analysis” of Clinton’s campaign mistakes.

However, the Punditry forgot to mention her most important mistakes:
1. She neglected to Vote YES on the Cheney Energy Bill (like Obama & McCain).

2. On the campaign trail she said: “nuclear can be considered in the future, if, they can make it cheaper and find a way to safely dispose of the nuclear waste”.

3. She got “news” coverage of her campaign cut to next to nothing when she said: I will close the loopholes in the Enron Bill that allow such manipulation of oil & gasoline prices, and, I will close the loopholes in the Cheney Energy Bill.

Thereby making Keith’s boss GE not in favor of Clinton for President.

NEXT, you might want to look on a map & see if YOU live near one of GE’s OLD nuclear power plants, or, near one of the 29 new nukes the Cheney Energy Bill is providing “for” “US”:

According to documents obtained by Public Citizen under the Freedom of Information Act, GE designed nuclear reactors around the world have a design flaw that make it virtually certain (90%) that in the event of a meltdown, radiation would be released directly into the environment and into surrounding communities, leaving the public without any protection.

The NRC acknowledges the reactor containment structure in GE built nuclear power plants did not work, but they licensed the reactors anyway. (Also, a dozen or more GE designed boiling water reactors in the US and abroad have evidence of cracking in the reactor core shroud — a metal cylinder surrounding the reactor’s radioactive fuel rods.)

p.s. Stay away from the Hudson River: Over 1.3 million pounds of PCB’s were dropped in the Hudson river by GE.

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-06-07 09:22:37

The trolls worst nightmare has happened since a huge chunk of Hillary supporters will remain faithful to her until the convention since today Hillary will only be suspending her candidacy and will retain all of her delegates. We will continue to research the anointed one and worst case scenario we will help to elect McCain to prevent the Obama freak show from taking over our government.

The trolls will quote Hillary’s speech today in parts accurately where it suits them and spin her words when accurate quotes do not suit them. Just more of the same bullshit we are accustom to.

I hope the trolls have plenty of cheetos on hand because we will be keeping them very busy! There is no nominee until the end of August and lots can happen between now and then.

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-06-07 09:21:05

I think the full gravity of what they tried to pull off and failed to do so has not yet sunk in.

One thing I’ve become convinced about is that the insiders read the pundits. The Dowds and other hateful writers never changed their tune. What the insiders missed was that she solidified her identity with voters and resonated on a core level. She passed the threshhold in people who insist on actions not words. She commanded respect and earned it from us.

So they misstepped when they cheated in the rules committee. They misstepped badly.

It will sink in slowly just how bad.

Has anyone considered that the DNC is asking women to become enablers by supporting Obama. After all of the sexist remarks and race baiting that we have seen used by Obama and his surrogates, backing him would be nothing less.
Let’s review the pattern of abuse:
1. They abuse you
2 They apologize
3 You are expected to forgive and forget.
4 Things are OK for a short while
5 Then they start all over then tell you that you must like it because you let them get away with it before.
STOP IT NOW !

Comment by SFHillary | 2008-06-07 10:57:29

If you ever took the time to actually read about John McCain’s history of mistreating women, you would be beyond appalled. Go find out about what he did to his first wife after she stood by his side and raised his children for 20 years while he was a POW and during his rehab. Then read about his record of verbally abusing his rich new trophy that he dumped the mother of his children for. Then go find his “joke” about Chelsea Clinton’s appearance, told in public when she was just a child. Then go find the YouTube clip of him laughing at the questioner who wanted to know how he was going to “beat the bitch” (that’s HRC) in the general election. Then think about the balance of power on the Supreme Court, the two Justices who are over 80 years old, and McCain’s promise to appoint “strict constructionist” judges who will dominate American jurisprudence for the next two generations.

Then go vote for that blatantly woman-hating Republican scumbag, in the name of feminism and respect for women. And pat yourself on the back.

wonderful post Craig thank you (esp for McCaffrey fans such as myself)…

I ordered my McCain lawn sign to go next to my Hillary lawn sign..

I also ordered some more things from Hillary’s Store to help with any debt. I am waiting to hear if she needs more donations this morning, i am happy to help her pay off her debt, she is an amazing candidate and I hope we run in 2012.

Obama fundraisers called me the other day and I told the guy for 20 mins why I cannot possibly support him, the guy agreed Big Dawg is not racist, that Hillary is great, I went on to explain that the 4 MI dels ‘reallocated’ ie STOLEN from Hillary were unacceptable, that the convention is too late to ‘fix’ this issue as it is counter to everything I thought the party stood for, he said all the things they should have said for the last year, too little too late, he thanked me for my perspective, I was nice it is his job and he was polite too.

I have returned the emails from Emilys List, the DCCC DSCC DNC (they keep putting me back on their email after I unsubscribe, it really is like the Hotel California, I check out but they wont let me leave) Wes Clark, all of them and told them sorry but I wont give a dime to anyone anymore but directly to the candidates who supported Hillary and her detailed plans to help our area, the SDs who went against what was good for their constituents in my area without reason, except the ‘donations’ they got from Obama, well I will campaign my axx off to make sure they get the boot in November, I am sending money to Ed O’Reilly? to help get Kerry out of there too, I see he used Obama style tactics to get his GOP competition knocked off the ballot, yeah thats change we want spread around Washington, how to lawyer your way to power, Chicago style, no thanks..

McCain I see is being attacked on TM board for torture votes, torture votes, this after he went to the floor numerous times fighting this and finally had to give in to pressure but made sure there were limits and then went on Hannity and argued with him saying he will not condone it period. No mention of Obama flipflopping at new speed, breaking records on Jerusalem and Iran, what is that thing the POTUS does again that requires the world leaders to trust the foreign policy stances they take???? Oh yeah COMMANDER IN CHIEF!!!!!!

How sad, how pathetic to try to use torture against a man who was tortured for 5 frakkin years for our country, this to promote a candidate who truly is the epitome of the sense of entitlement that seems to come out of Trinity and MEchelle reflects this to a T also. “can we get something over here?” “we just paid off our student loans” she whines, uhm no MEchelle, America already gave you a sterling education that enabled you to get a 300k a yr job denying medical care to the indigent and minorites who arent covered by taxpayer Congressional plan like Barack, Rezko gave you your million dollar house, WTF more do you want MEchelle, when is it enough?

I have a news flash for you, you will never be loved like Hillary and Big Dawg not by the PEOPLE. Some may be bedazzled by the marketing but they also loved New Kids on the Block and whoever was on the cover of Tiger Beat once too.

The love we have for Hillary and Big Dawg and Chelsea is enduring and built on mutual respect, trust and gratitude, something you will never understand.

We the PEOPLE know a con when we see one, and the party is running the LONG CON here. We arent interested in what they are selling, and if the cabal led by Pelosi and Reid thought they would get a larger majority to counter a McCain POTUS which I think is the ultimate plan, they are wrong. I will do whatever I can to make sure the party is not rewarded for this travesty of a nomination process.

MESSAGE TO CABAL: The BASE is NOT staying home and you are NOT increasing your majority without Hillary on the top of the ticket come November, that is the CHANGE you really CAN believe in.

I meantioned racism, sexism, hate from his camp, trashing the clintons , were they mad??

SO WE HAVE TO START TALKING TO PEOPLE THET WE KNOW ABOUT IT ,

I am starting to say “hi“`hello“to my kids,s school teachers and my neighbors ,so i can start talking to them in 2 weeks or so about it

MY goal -at least 500 people myself and convince at least 50 to pass the word on about obama

Now that will be a movement if all of us did in our towns,,

All I say, Sonia, is that I’ll probably vote my pocketbook. The look of relief on people’s faces, who supposedly fall into the Obama category, is palpable. It’s like someone gave them permission to not vote for him. LOL*

Poketbook issues work. He’s going to raise taxes. Unless you really, really think he’s great stuff, why the hell vote for someone who is incompetent and then have to pay for it?

One simple true test of Obama the real test when Rezko was found guilty:

Whom did Obama feel sorrow for?

A-Rezko’s family?
B-The people of Illinois Rezko Ripped off?
C-All of the above?

If you picked “A” you won! Incredible how the so called candidate for the people gave a rats ass about the millions scammed off by his bagman and showed any concern about the people he claims to be the messiah over! Nope, Bambitwat feels sorrow for Rezko’s family!

So much for the people, well guess plenty of practice considering Obama was happy letting people freeze while taking Rezko money, ah but Obama gives a good speech! Yeah that deserves him to be POTUS!

Oxford Dictionary has replaced the word STUPID with OBAMABOT as irrational illogical and inability to think person or persons!

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-06-07 09:35:54

Personally, I think everyone is on the wrong track about Rezko, Ayers, Wright, and the good priest.

The question is: How do you NOT notice these obvious things about long-term friends?

A follow-up question would be: Do you think you might have a judgment problem, then, since you don’t see what others see and know?

Comment by ginaswo | 2008-06-07 09:40:15

my fave recent comment from Obama is on the night of his big $23000? a plate fundraiser in NYC when asked by a reporter, so how does it feel to be the presumptive nominee for POTUS?

does he say, what a blessing, NO

does he say an honor and a privilege NO

does he say he hopes to live up to the awesome responsibility? NO

NO he says and Im not shxttin you here:

I dont know I havent really thought about it I have to go home and speak to Michelle about it

Listen if you dont KNOW how it FEELS to be the presumptive nominee of the party for POTUS …well I think we have serious trouble here beyond what we expected, he must not know what the right feeling is to have, which would to me indicate a frakkin problem Houston…

How the DNC and Obama’s fixed the outcome for the primary:

Did anyone know about this?: “there also was a law passed in several states in the last 1 & 2 years that if you are 17 you can vote in the primary.”

Here is the post I read from camille424.wordpress.com/

“…I read he had ‘youth’ organizing for him back then in the local colleges. I believe this is why he was able to act so swiftly the Iowa caucuses and ‘organize’ in other states so quickly, He used the youth as his street ’soldiers’.

*********

Something else happened that few people realize. On top of giving more delegates in AA districts, the caucus crap, there also was a law passed in several states in the last 1 & 2 years that if you are 17 you can vote in the primary. Some states allowed the age to be just 17 while others said ok but they must be 18 before the General.

Do you realize how many people that would bring in, especially in his own state…my God!”

McCain and women’s issues: It’s more than just Roe…

By: Steve Benen on Saturday, June 7th, 2008 at 5:30 AM – PDT

Obviously, John McCain’s intention to move the Supreme Court even further to the right and overturn Roe is high on the list of concerns regarding women’s issues, but Scott Lemieux had a good item this week reminding us that Roe is just part of a bigger picture.

Yes, it’s true that replacing John Paul Stevens and/or Ruth Bader Ginsburg with a Republican appointee will be bad for abortion rights, although this is likely to occur by further draining content from Casey rather than overturning Roe outright.

But even when it comes to women’s rights, this is just the tip of the iceberg. The enforcement of civil rights protections for women is likely to be much less in a Republican administration, for example. The global gag order will remain firmly in place. And in general, four more years of a tax-cut-supporting, massive-defense-spending GOP president will not only make any kind of serious progressive reform (much of which disproportionately benefits women even if not specifically targeted to do so) virtually impossible for four more years but will also make it more difficult in the future. A McCain presidency would be very, very bad for women even if not a single Supreme Court vacancy opens up during his tenure.

Quite right. We’re not just talking about esoteric issues like Supreme Court cases and speculative high court retirements; this is about the kind of impact McCain policies can and would have on women’s lives every day.

As St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman, an enthusiastic Clinton backer, said this week, “You don’t spend your life fighting for women’s rights and then vote for Sen. McCain.”

As it turns out, we can even go further on this point.

David Greenberg, the president and CEO of Planned Parenthood in Oregon, had an especially good item this week on the subject.

John McCain is one of only a few Senators to earn a Zero percent lifetime rating from Planned Parenthood’s Action Fund, and he only scored that high because the organization doesn’t have a lower rating…. Let’s look at his record:

He voted against requiring health care plans to cover birth control (3/22/03).

He voted against comprehensive, medically accurate sex education (7/25/06).

He voted against international family planning funding (3/14/96).

He voted against funding to prevent teen and unintended pregnancies (3/17/05).

He voted against public education for emergency contraception (3/17/05).

And he voted against restoring Medicaid funding that could be used for family planning for low-income women (3/17/05).

NPR reported (2/2/08) that, “Many Republican voters seem to believe, incorrectly, that the current Republican front-runner, Arizona Senator John McCain, supports abortion rights.”

John McCain wants us to believe that he’s a moderate who supports improving the health of women in the United States, but in fact he’s among the most extreme members of Congress who voted against common sense measures on family planning, sex education and access to basic healthcare.

In contrast, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton agree on all of these issues.

Comment by LN | 2008-06-07 09:46:20

It’s beyond Roe vs Wade at this point. Don’t you get it?! We have had our constitutional rights violated and the DNC is trying to install a thug as the President of the US.

Get over it…we cannot be brought back into the fold.

Women’s rights didn’t mean anything to the Democratic party in this primary season. Why should I think they will continue to support me now?

The most overt and blatant sexism I’ve ever seen was thrown at Hillary everyday…and only after it was all over did the good Dr. Dean say ANYTHING about it.

Millions of us are simply LIVID.

I say again…John McCain will be the next President of the United States of America.

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-06-07 09:48:55

Yep, so you better get busy on the congressional side over there.

Because part of the plan is to derail the insiders. That may mean a lot of young congresspeople in office.

Pelosi has a challenger. I’m working to find out if the woman has anything good to offer. If so, I’m sending her money. Ditto for a lot of the Obama insiders who railroaded his nomination.

I agree. It’s sad to support someone opposed to women’s reproductive rights.

But then, the Democratic Party insider never once spoke up against what was happening to the woman candidate, so their actions this year prove that they aren’t friends of women, either.

Ferarro spoke up. But she was jeered right and left and called a racist.

Shame on the Democratic Party.

I may even support some good solid moderate Republicans in my area. I don’t want to see the Democrats that showed us their lack of integrity and principles have much power.

I don’t for a second believe that Obama cares about women’s rights. If he did, he wouldn’t have allowed the sexism that was directed at Hillary and her supporters by his bought and paid for media and his thug brigade. He is the epitome of the “Just words” mantra; he changes his positions as often as he changes his underwear. As least, I hope he changes his underwear that often.

You can provide lists of all of McCain’s flaws, and it still will not persuade me to support the empty suit. I have a thought–instead of focusing of McCain, how about telling me all of the positive things Obama has accomplished for his country.

Comment by alee21 | 2008-06-07 09:50:38

Agree, 100% and well said.

Let’s make sure Obami does not win. He will lead the Dem Party to defeat but, hey, mission accomplished. The AAs got what they want – a black nominee; the Dem party got what they want: retain the AAs and expand their youth base; Obami got what he wanted: a bigger mansion, more book deals, more speaking tours.

They forgot one thing: the country did not get what it wants and deserves – an accomplished, qualified, candidate with everything that it takes to be a successful President in these times of need.

Comment by sjl106 | 2008-06-07 10:02:21

obama and his goons are the ones that divided us, with lots of help, there is no way he will unite us. Never in my life would I vote for the sleaze and the sleazier that invaded the blogs the media and the democratic party.

Sorry kiddies for the good of my country this cannot stand. As a history buff, IMO, the actions throughout are similar to the rise of facism and communism. The similarities of the rise of Mussolini, Hitler, the Bolsheviks (won’t claim Stalin, he was low key in his rise to power but part of the Bolsevik revolution)all the player, attitudes, and behaviors seem to have been reincarnated.

I guess people should have paid more attention to the Hillary camps chronological map of when obama first began his plan of becoming President. Kindergarten in Indonesia where his mother moved him with his stepfather, I read an article (won’t go find it, it was a while ago)that his stepfather was kicked out of the U.S. for his communist activities and they only got more prominent while back in Indonesia and his mother had the same beliefs. With the friends, confidant’s, and associations obama has chosen to keep in his present history, I would say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Hillary will be wise to reject any VP offers. Her power lies in the Senate, not the VP. VP’s are no more than a puppy on a leash(errand runners).

I hate that people have allowed the “HYPE” to influence the polls. November will be less than noticed unless them that have allowed the Charisma and eloquent speeches of Obama to keep them snared.

People that follow but never hear the message will always be the bunch “HYPE” will influence.

People, think about the confused ,backtracking,no knowledge and no experience. Check his voting record and notice the many times he either did not vote by excusing himself to the tank, probably with Larry Sinclair, or,he voted, then changed his mind a few minutes later.

If America remembers what Obama claims his foreign policy experience is,y’all will know he claims visiting Palestine, and a few Mid East countries are his experience he puts in his resume.

NOTE: Hillary has to act the part of one that’s unifying the party. But,believe this: Hillary could give a DAMN less about unification. Hillary is like most Americans, she’s pissed off and can do more to control the sham scam Obama and his political “BS” if she remains in the senate.

I hope America does not fall for her shallow endorsement she is forced to make today.

I want the DNC to realize they do not run this country…”VOTE McCAIN”
Just, please do not allow “HYPE” to overshadow “FACTS.”

How courageous of her.

We will not be denied.

You have been.

Aides said Clinton would be unequivocal in her praise for Obama, her rival in an epic, 50-state nominating contest pitting the first serious female candidate for president against the most viable black candidate.

“I have said throughout the campaign that I would strongly support Senator Obama if he were the Democratic Party’s nominee and I intend to deliver on that promise,” Clinton told supporters in an online message late this week.

She said her speech would focus on “how together we can rally the party” behind Obama as he prepares for the general election against Arizona Sen. John McCain. “The stakes are too high and the task before us too important to do otherwise.”

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-06-07 10:28:14

We do not hold the victim responsible for her own torture. This would be the equivalent of some less-than-enlightened countries in which women who are raped are then stoned to death on accusations of being unfaithful to their husbands.

You cannot use this argument against women…we have heard it all too often.

We will not be silent, we will not be compliant and we will do everything in our power to defeat nobama in November. You can take that to the bank.

The DNC cannot lie and cheat and then expect us to accept their decision no questions asked. Somebody in the thread above mentioned how well Donna Brazile botched Al Gore’s campaign and she is doing her same magic this year as well. Maybe, she is closer to Rove than we think. How else do you explain the mess we are in, with a divided Democratic Party and the annointing of a very weak candidate. This is not over until the convention in August, and that’s a long time for more dirt to come out on the favored one. How many times can this guy blow it, and still be propped up by the DNC and MSM? Let’s be honest, if it were your typical white guy, he would have been gone 6 months ago. GE and others, must have very deep pockets indeed. Stay strong everyone, we have work to do.

We constantly read about how Hillary’s supporters are a bunch of dunces who are apparently no smarter than a fifth grader. This is not to insult your average fifth grader, though, because it is evident that many adults are NOT smarter than fifth graders! Anyway, your intelligence is far superior than the best of what I have witnessed from the dark side.

Thank you for supporting Hillary. I hope that you continue to post on your blog, and on the NoQuarterusa website. I am very impressed.

I believe the Republicans may have had a hand in the misinformation campaign, and I’m still willing to vote for McCain, because I think Obama is such a poor alternative. Plus, the Democratic Party is really more at fault for gaming the primary season to advantage Obama and allowing a significant and loyal portion of their base to be insulted and labeled as racists.

In spite of the possible complicity of the Republicans, I just feel Obama’s inexperience and close association with far left radicals from Chicago create too many concerns for me to overlook. In Obama’s first speech after becoming the nominee, in pandering for jewish votes his assurances regarding Israel managed to upset some of his Palestinian friends, and in response to the concerns of the Palestinians, he of course had to backtrack which only makes the whole situation worse. Where he stands seems to depend on the particular day and his audience, and although all politicians have a tendancy to do this, his flip flops are exacerbated by his inexperience.

In the face of all the threats about what a McCain presidency could bring, I always return to my concern that in his inexperience, an Obama presidency could lead to unimagined negative consequencies. As far as I’m concerned, the Democratic Party actually managed to nominate someone whose inability to speak off the cuff makes Bush look like an exceptional extemporaneous speaker, and whose depth of knowledge and understanding of important issues is questionable at best. So, I will cast my vote for McCain free from any guilt, because as far as I’m concerned, I was not provided with an acceptable alternative.

LN….I think, personally, that South Dakota was the best indicator for what will happen in the Fall.

He has thoroughly lost the white middle class voter.

This time around, there won’t be the usual sliced up delegates. Winner take all.

He’ll not push past the needed threshhold to win. Wright killed him. It had nothing to do with Hillary. It was his own past.

That’s one of the sad realities of Obamabots…you are so ignorant on soooo many levels. LOL

A lie is a lie is a lie. Obama is a liar. Just like Bush lied about WMDs in Iraq and still occupies Iraq we may now have an Occupier in the white house, based on hypocrisy, lies and voter fraud.

Anyone else recognize this scenario? Only now the Democrats using the Reppublican play book are now what they have preached against. Add that with the misogynist attitude, disrespect and bully tactics…that about sums this fiasco up.

We’ve all lost.

well, yes.

But guys like McCain, and Obama destroy the people who put them there, like Cheney, and Bush, neither is smart enough to run the country.

And that’s the point, in the end.

They want to fix elections, start wars, corrupt the government?

Well, let them.

Now come forth and accuse Hillary supporters of acting like Republicans.

Pay back is a beotch!

I like my new John McCain yard sign, it matches the Hillary sign.

Mr. Della Pena —

What perfect, flawless commentary. You have spoken what I feel. What many of us feel.

Alas, the plan is already set — Hillary will be blamed for Obama’s loss. You see it everywhere. You hear it everywhere. The DNC is already feeding the talking points to their cable news shills. “If he loses to McCain it’s her fault.”

- it won’t have anything to do with Obama’s connection to Rev. Wright or Father Phalager.

- it won’t have anything to do with Obama condemning people of the heartland as bitter souls biased against people of color.

- it won’t have anything to with Rezko (the man he only did a few hours work for yet somehow knew well enough to enter a joint-property purchase).

- it won’t have anything to do with the Democratic party disenfrancising the voters of Michagan and Florida (even though three other states moved up their primaries with no punishment, states Obama was predicted to win: Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina).

- it won’t have anything to do with the viciousness of Obama’s online supporters who have attacked and alienated fellow Democrats with non-stop vitriol.

- and it certainly won’t have anything to do with the mathematical fact that Obama squeezed out his lead by winning the most caucus delegates possible with the fewest ballots cast.

No. It will be Hillary’s fault when Obama loses to McCain.

Because she did not step aside.

Because she dared to allow all 50 states and territories to vote.

Because she ran against Obama like a true candidate instead of voluteering to coronate him.

It will be Hillary’s fault for daring to break the most institutionalized glass ceiling: POTUS.

Comment by Pink Panther | 2008-06-07 10:55:17

Obama’s campaign began this year with a win in Iowa. I will never forgive or forget the statement made by Jesse Jackson, Jr., Obama’s National Campaign Co-Chair:

“The natural reminder here is O.J. [Simpson] — how does an African American candidate attack a white woman?”

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/01/04/AR2008010400117.html

Obama has race baited and used sexist terms during the campaign. Obama never objected the above hateful statement. Hillary and the DNP may call for unity but I will never get behind a racist, sexist and hateful candidate no matter how well his campaign tried to transform his image.

My country comes before any political party. And, our country does not need another racist or sexist individual sitting in the White House.

Comment by ken | 2008-06-07 14:21:12

Can’t believe he dare to bring up O.J. Why are all these “reverends” that have ties to B.O. so devoid of generosity and full of hatred? If you believe O.J. did kill his ex-wife and her friend and got away with it on technicalities, the implication of that statement is less rhetorical but blatantly ominous and truly horrendous.

Mr. Murder, this is O/T, but I was surprised to hear someone on the radio this weekend who is very knowledgeable about financial stuff talk about that Hillary was actually right about their being some Enron shenanigans going on. Speculators, apparently.

That was part of the bill that Obama backed, allowing the loopholes? I think I’m right about this.

Anyway, she was jeered about that remark. I even thought it was a campaign deal.

Apparently not. That IS the deal.

It really pissed me off when Karl Rove and GW Bush treated McCain the way they did–AND I WAS A DEMOCRAT. But Rove and Bush can’t hold a candle to the way Obama treated Clinton AND the rest of the American people in general. I would not vote for Obama even if he took both Hillary and Bill Clinton into his cabinet. Hell I wouldn’t even vote for Hillary if she had won the nomination and chose Obama to run as her VP. Anything with Obama attached to it is just crap to be flushed down the commode. And Race? Forget it. McCain is a different animal than the Clintons .

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-06-07 11:01:11

He’s a maverick. It may be fun to watch this race. McCain has a reputation of not exactly being predictable.

Comment by typical irishman | 2008-06-07 11:19:39

Yeah. I suppose he will “busta move” and try his old Chicago style politics using his learned Alinski style tactics. But I have an idea that karl Rove is a bit more EXPERIENCED at dirty politics than precious is.

Read the article on MSN this morning “Clinton Bloc Becomes Prize for Nov 4.” Of course, now Dean has just seen the video compilation of broadcasters’ comments about Hillary and has belatedly recognized the cries of sexism. His comments:
“We all get over it when our candidates don’t win,” he said. “What you don’t get over is feeling like you’ve been insulted by some of the leading institutions in America and no one said anything about it.”

Now where was he when the rest of us saw this video and the abuse by MSN? He is more stupid than OB if he thinks we believe this BS. Where was he during the primaries when his comments would have possibly made a difference? We are not battered women who run back to the Democratic Party for more abuse.

Then to add insult to injury in the article there are the comments by Claire McCaskill, who I assume thinks she is some spokeswoman for women:

“I’ve tried to make sure that everyone understood that these women have a right to feel frustrated and angry,” said Senator Claire McCaskill of Missouri, an important ally who is one of his leading emissaries to women. “To try to make that less than real is a huge mistake.”

I hope the people of Missouri especially women will make sure that this woman loses her Senate seat when she is next on the ballot. I wish Hillary would tell her that she forfeited her right to speak for women when she endorsed OB and condoned his sexism every time she got on MSM and gushed with the other infomercial announcers.

Howard Dean, the DNC and the likes of Claire McCaskill will be sent a loud message on Nov 4: W will not vote for a corrupt party and a racist, sexist candidate who does not share our values. None of your insulting pandering will change our vote. We are women and this is not the first time we have been put down and yes we have had to learn how to fight. We are the critical bloc on Nov 4; just watch us prove it

Comment by N. Lee | 2008-06-07 11:08:08

And let us not forget Gov. Janet Napolitano.

Although Arizona voted for Sen. Clinton, hands down, Napolitano sent her super-delegate vote to Obama.

As a woman and political leader of Arizona, she went against both groups.

She is outta here!

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-06-07 11:11:30

Good…….I’m starting to get the names into my head here.

They need to be voted out. If that’s not possible, then they need to have to spend a shit-load of money defending their positions.

This is the strategy that I call, “Drain the Bank.”

Let the Obama supporters try spreading all those 25 buck contributions all around the country and see how this works out for them. LOL*

Idiots……*muttering to myself*

Comment by wac for hillary | 2008-06-07 11:13:11

Excellent comment. I agree with you wholeheartedly. I have a feeling that the voters in Missouri will remember McCaskill’s actions when her reelection bid comes up. She barely won this time, and I’m hoping her upcoming loss will be significant.

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-06-07 11:23:23

Let us know how we can help. She needs to go. These women who did this to Hillary, in particular, need to go.

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-06-07 11:20:01

I saw it and was offended.

Hillary supporters didn’t all fall in love with her immediately. She had to earn every vote from us through her actions. We’re also not dummies. We know the difference between tossing over a candidate due to a mistake (Bosnia) and seeing a pattern of dishonesty during the campaign such as what Obama continues to exhibit.

So the pandering, “Let the women be upset,” was off-the-point.

Until they talk about what they did to her and get honest, the bunch of them can bite my ass.

Now, if we want to sit down at the unity table and put the cards out on the table. If we want to have an open discussion within the party that Obama’s trashing of the Clintons was dead-wrong and offended 1/2 the party. If we want to discuss how some of the power boyz went along with that.

Then, maybe we could put the party back together again and even be strengthened by a good old-fashioned, “Come to Jesus,” talk.

Until then? They are merely demeaning us and minimizing the real issues.

They still are not listening.

Comment by Five Thirty | 2008-06-07 11:46:53

Too late for that discussion. Unity is impossible now. They rigged the election. Their regret now is meaningless, no?

Bravo. After reading this article I feel energized.

After reading the comments, though, I am amused.

This is going to be a fierce election season. Emotions will run high. I am just beginning to exhale after the primaries, but I know I had better get ready to hold my breath again.

It is going to be a tight race. I suggest we decide whether to support McCain or write in Sen. Clinton. No “staying on the fence” for the next few months.

I hope everyone logs into the McCain site SOON and begins contributing lots of money. Let your presence be known and give his campaign the energy it needs to match the Obama robots.

As a Hillary supporter, I have logged on and joined his team. Bought a t-shirt, which will
