He is the Selectee, Not the Nominee

The latest in our readers’ observations about this historic primary and election. – SusanUnPC

In all my wildest imaginings I never imagined that less than 24 hours after Hillary suspended her campaign some of her most ardent supporters would overdose on (as Pagan likes to put it) the Cult-Aide. I read and learned from a lot of these folks, they blogged and wrote and published diaries, they commented on various sites. These talented folks were fierce in their defense of Hillary as the best candidate and helped to bring the awful misogyny and outright lies of the Obots to light. These writers worked in place of the MSM which has forgotten journalism and deals in infotainment. What the hell happened?? Overnight some of these Hillary supporters were transformed into Obots. Have the pod people taken over??? Did Santa miss my house when he made that special run to drop off all the back-ordered Unity Ponies???

WHOA- hold on, back the truck up! Not one single thing that we know about Barack Obama changed just because Hillary gave a speech! Sad, so sad. The very thing that many, many folks found disturbing in the bots- the mindless “following the leader” – is now being seen in rational, intelligent people who on Thursday and Friday were ABSOLUTELY convinced that Obama was NOT the nominee and that if nominated, he was not the legitimate candidate of the people. Never having been a fan of mindless obedience to anybody, I spent these months of the primary researching the candidates so I could fulfill my civic obligation and cast an informed vote. What I found in Hillary was a candidate who embodied the Democratic ideals I value. What I found in Obama was the exact opposite.

The truth on Friday was that Obama has a very slim resume. He votes “present” more than he votes “yes” or “no,” he voted FOR the Bush/Cheney energy bill.

In order to begin his public career, he used a series of technicalities to get all opponents kicked off the ballot so he could run unopposed. (For any former Hill supporters whose absorption into the Borg is not yet complete- FOCUS! PAY ATTENTION! You know all this- try to remember.) He is involved in a shady deal with a convicted felon by the name of Rezko. Said deal allowed Obama and his wife to buy a mansion they could not afford.

(Is this getting past the Borg blocks? Remember Rezko? The guy who let tenants in Obama’s Illinois Senate district go without heat in the middle of a Chicago winter?) Try remembering this- Obama has a lunatic raving mad man pastor who rants- in church- G** D*** America. Same pastor accuses America of inventing Aids to infect the African American population. Surely you remember that Obama sat in that church for twenty years and denied ever hearing any of his pastor’s Black Liberation Theology sermons.

You can do it- I know you can- remember- Jeremiah Wright- Obama threw him under the bus when his poll numbers started crashing.

Ok- let’s try an easy one, not too far in the past. Remember May 31st? The day the DNC and TEH RULES committee gave Obama 4 of Hillary’s delegates? You know, the day that the DNC decided that the people in Fl and MI were only half people? No? Let me refresh your memory. The Obama campaign surrogates blocked revotes in FL and MI to undermine Hillary’s momentum and to denigrate her and her supporters. On Friday, Obama was the “selected” not the nominee. He will never be the legitimate nominee.

So please people, I know it was dark and cold under the bus. Perhaps you were poisoned by the exhaust fumes. Breathe, breathe. NOTHING has changed- Obama is STILL the most unqualified candidate ever to run for the office of President of the United States of America. On Friday a good many of you were with us in our commitment to the truth, to intelligent decisions.

Some of the best of you were very vocal in your derision of the mindless Bots who followed an empty promise. You wanted no part of the Unity Pony when it meant you had to compromise the party’s core principles- you MUST remember the core principle of COUNT EVERY VOTE!

The empty-suit is STILL an empty suit. Nothing has changed. Obama did not become qualified because Hillary was forced to suspend her campaign. All of the horrible things we know about Obama and his unelectability are still real. There is no magic wand that can make it go away.

Nothing has changed! Obama is the hand-picked puppet of the DNC and is still the most unqualified candidate ever to run for office.

All the post mortems about why Hillary lost?

She DIDN’T LOSE.

Tell the voters in OH, PA and WV that she lost.

The losing was purely an inside job.

They decided she lost, and didn’t care what the voters said. Every time she won a major primary, we’d hear: “Well time to quit.”

All the DC mediocrities that resent Clinton’s popularity, just used
Obama to feel good. Even if it destroys the party.

Talk about the oil bubble, the Obama bubble will burst before
the election, if it hasn’t already.

Just to let you know. We’re still around, we have gone underground to do our work. We are trying to avoid the Obamabots. We will come out occasionally just to give hope on the blogs. Never fear, we have not stopped working for Hillary. The word is…..Hillary knows what she’s doing, don’t give up hope. I can’t tell you anymore than that.

I think it’s a tribute to Hillary Clinton’s superior speech-making abilities that she was able to deliver one of the most compelling and inspiring speeches we will ever hear last Saturday. I know, for me, it made me want to set aside the anger and hurt and make a decision for our future based on reason. She made a great argument for putting a Democrat in the White House. I am still working on the anger and hurt part, but my decision to back Senator Clinton was always based on reason…the reasoning that she is the superior candidate and that Senator Obama is not qualified at all.

After learning more about Senator Obama, the thought of his candidacy can be downright scary. If he can convince me before Novemeber that he is not corrupt, that his judgment will be better in the future than it has been in the past, that his work ethic will be better in the future than it has been in the past, that who he associates with is NOT who he is, and that he cares about and will work to promote the well-being of every citizen in this country, I may consider voting for him. I will give him that chance, because Hillary Clinton asked me to in her speech.

I wonder if Senator Obama, the greatest speaker since JFK and Martin Luther King, (or so I’m told by the media) could ever give a speech that would convince his most ardent supporters to set aside their anger and hatred of Senator Clinton, stop spreading negative propaganda towards her and her supporters, and consider supporting her to be president of this country. Since Senator Clinton has suspended her candidacy and very graciously endorsed their candidate and promised to campaign for him, some of the Obama supporters and media pundits still feel compelled to bash her and her supporters every chance they get. Since even though further alienating voters Senator Obama needs to actually win the general election is not in Senator Obama’s best interests, some of his supporters feel so strongly in their hatred of anything Hillary that they either don’t see this or can’t help themselves and continue alienating Clinton supporters. Senator Obama would have to give the speech of his lifetime to convince these supporters to see reason and consider changing their thinking and behavior. From what I’ve seen reading the blogs, I doubt he is that great a speech-maker.

Those are four states. In case you’ve never had any introduction to the field of mathematics, one must win a MAJORITY of the delegates in order to secure the nomination, i.e. “win”.

Oh, trust me. Nothing has changed for this ex-Democrat. Or the THOUSANDS of people banding together right now to help defeat Obama.

Those thousands will probably become millions.

Why?

Oh, because he sucks.

Comment by John Doh | 2008-06-08 19:41:06

Oh yes….go right ahead….losers
“band together” and TRY to elect John McCain:
PROVE you have no real principles and care nothing for Hilary who MAY be the
vice-presidential candidate.

John McCain is a gift from God to America sent down here to be annihilated in this election. Don`t plan on staying up much beyond 9:00EST
on election night.

“a gift from God to America sent down here to be annihilated in this election.” Oh and you guys should take it easy on the fire and brimstone imagery, it is scary to average voters.

Comment by Jason | 2008-06-09 11:42:44

That’s nice. And everything you probably believe in (choice, fiscal equality, the war) will be down the tubes for the next four years, and possibly forever. Are you really prepared to say goodbye to a woman’s right to choose during that bath? I hope the water is pleasant for you.

Comment by jdona | 2008-06-08 19:31:02

Well, I am glad I am not the only one that wonders what happened. Where are the peoples convictions? Their outrage? Their beliefs that Obama was and still is inept, inexperienced, unqualified, and down right dangerous? I am sitting here completely baffled. And I am glad to find out I am not the only one questioning the sanity of those who all of a sudden think he is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Comment by PaganPower | 2008-06-08 19:35:24

I wonder about the outrage too. The Party is an excuse not to think for one’s self. I prefer to exercise free will.

Comment by ken | 2008-06-08 20:29:36

It’s the dreaded group think taking hold. They prefer to “win” than to have “principles”. We all know Hillary was forced up against the wall to make way for his “highness”. No matter how she pleads his case, it doesn’t make it legitimate. An illegitimate candidate need to be defeated for the sake of democracy. DEMOCRACY NEEDS TO WIN, to hell with the unDemocratic Party.

I didn’t think he was good for our country before and all the things I’ve heard about him never. I am still hoping that something will happen before the convention and he goes down. Like they say it ain’t over till the fat lady sings and I ain’t heard no music yet.

We’re here … Larry’s blog gives us a place to commune with a lot of like minded people for Hillary.

I respect and admire Hillary, and understand what she had (was forced) to do. I will never vote for Obama, he’s just so NOT Presidential material on so many levels. The DNC is corrupt and it’s never been more blatantly obvious until now. They change the rules when it suits their purpose (like with Michigan’s undeclared del’s going to BO) and the blow back for their corruption is heading their way …

Keep the faith

Good! I don’t want your vote! It will be that much sweeter when Obama wins the general election without the bitter-delusional-conspiratorial Hillary crowd.

Why can’t you guys just accept the fact Hillary lost fair and square? And don’t tell me she was cheated. She started out with the money, the name recognition, the establishment, the inevitability, and the former President on her side.

SHE BLEW IT. She spent too much, too carelessly, listed to the wrong people (and overpaid them), was too overconfident, didn’t read the American electorate, didn’t compete in caucus states, had no strategy after February 5th, and divided a lot of people.

Obama was responsible for none of that. The sooner you accept this, the sooner you can move on with your lives. You can vote for Obama or not but at least stop kidding yourselves.

Comment by 30yrdem-not any more | 2008-06-08 19:33:02

Hillary could have been the nominee if the process had been handled honestly and legally. It was not. Every dirty trick Howard Dean, the DNC, Nancy Pelosi and the Chicago Political Machine could use, was used.

I will not vote for Obama.

I will not vote if Hillary is number two on the ticket, unless I have a guarantee from God that Obama will see the light and realize that he has no experience and give the top of the ticket to Hillary.

Since the only light Obama can see is the spot light, that will not happen, so I am working for McCain.

Senator Hillary Clinton ‘ineptly and overconfidently’ won the majority of votes and if the RBC didn’t defraud her, would have had the majority of the pledged delegates.

I wonder how could this happen. She talked to small groups of people while your NObama attracted tens of thousands. When I first saw the difference, I expected NObama to win everywhere by landslides.

NObama actually didn’t win.
NObama is the APPOINTEE, not the nominee.

All African Americans visiting this site, take notice that you are reading remarks posted by members of the democratic party. Please help bring attention to this truth. There is a place for you in the Republican party. John McCain is polling 24% of the black vote in Michigan. Educate yourselves. As you read posts at this site, you will realize why your ancestors were a solid republican voting block. Republicans support their black candidates. You are welcome in our party.

African Americans, look at the comments on this site. Bring your votes and your donations to the republican party. Many of you will wait until the real dems defeat Obama. Remember them. Republicans support their Black candidates. Your ancestors were well treated by the republican party. You are also welcome as many of you are people of faith. People of faith have no place in the DEMONcRAT party.

The real democratic or should I say DEMONcRAT party. Full of baby killers, sodomites, welfare leeches, racists and general dummies.

All African American with jobs and pride, please hear me. When Obama loses, come home to the republican party. This is the real democratic party. We republicans depise them. Evidence is here: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1992769/posts

Blacks, this is the real democratic party. The party of “black codes” Johnson, George Wallace and the Southern manifesto.

Republicans freed the slaves and gave you your rights. The first black senators were republican. Most of the signers of the civil rights bill were republicans. Ronald Reagan appointed Colin Powell to be National security advisor. George Bush appointed a black and a black woman to be secretary of state. Dems have been killing your babies, ruining your families and putting you on the back of the bus for advancement for hundreds of years. Educate yourselves…because what you see here is the real democratic party. Never ever vote democrat again. They will betray you every time.

He loses, in short, 40% of registered Democrats right out the shoot.

There are 72 million registered Democrats as of 2004.

Hillary and Obama got out 35 million voters.

I would take 40% of 35 million for his loss of votes.

Moreover, he’s probably at his maximum and will not retain all the new voters he initially got out. They are the youth and tend to forget to show up and vote.

That is still like 10% of total register Dem. Add independents and it might be enough to tip it away from BHO.

CNN was the first to announce that Clinton would concede the night of the SD primary. They then switched to saying she would beg Obama to let her be VP on the night of the SD primary.
As you know, she did neither.
That was the last day I watched CNN.

I just came back from the pool in South Florida young, old, and overwhelming they will not vote for Obama. And this is from a group of Latte drinkers. About 15 people and they seemed very mad with the choice. They wanted Hillary by far. Obama will never win Florida

Karl Rove said before the primaries ended, that he warns the republicans that after the democrats have a presumptive nominee, that nominee will have at least a 10 point more lead over John McCain than before. That lead will erode before long.

I don’t like that guy, but he is smart. Maybe he knows what he is talking about.

The big bump in points was maybe 2-3 points?

He loses, in short, 40% of registered Democrats right out the shoot.

Ummm…please do the math. He’s retaining 60% of Hillary supporters. That means losing 20% of Democratic voters. That’s about the same amount that Hillary would have lost if she’d won the nomination. But not mine: I’m tired of the Republicans ruining our country and that’s what matters to me.

So, because one candidate of two excellent finalists didn’t win the nomination, loyal Democrats are going to forget the past eight years and vote for four more years of a pointless war, shrinking middle class, no healthcare, unstable social security, conservatives on the court to overturn a woman’s right to choose, not to mention nix the idea that Hillary and Bill would likely both have significant cabinet posts in an Obama administration?

Those people were never real Democrats: they were anti-Obama fanatics. Let McCain have them: they’re the only one’s who’ll vote for him, since he has no positive message for our country.

My sister is in California now. Good, reliable blue state. What she hears now is that large groups are deeply concerned about BO and don’t want to vote for him.
California is open minded, has a republican governor who showed them that not all republicans are created equal.
I heard before but couldn’t believe that McCain has a chance in California.

That shift is all it will take. McCain is up in Michigan (17 EV) and Wisconsin (10 EV) which were both won by Kerry. He’s inside the margin of error in CT (7 EV)(also a Kerry win) as well.

Florida is pulling away and seems to be falling out of even being competitive for the Dems (though it was fairly solid for the Repubs in ‘04). That is a DAMN SHAME, because HRC would have won Florida and its 27 votes. That plus CA and NY would have made her unstoppable.

Oh well.

Comment by GoHillary | 2008-06-08 20:07:17

Here is what kerry won these states by in 2004:

Wisconsin 11 K

New Hamp 9 K

Pennsylvania 145 K

Minnesota 100 K

These margins are quite small. There don’t need to be millions of clinton dems.

Well within the capabilities of a focused campaign to oust nobama and his cronies from DNC.

Comment by street_parade | 2008-06-08 20:46:33

You might want to take a look at McCain’s strategy presentation that is up on the home page of his web site right now. His campaign manager pays particular attention to Democrats in counties in western PA and eastern OH (aka Clinton Country). Bush either lost or barely beat Kerry in these areas.

Kerry won PA by only 2 points in ‘04. McCain should be able to significantly improve on Bush’s numbers in western PA and that improvement could give him the state and with it the White House.

Call it ‘the revenge of Appalachia’.

The actual not voting FOR Obama number is HUGE.

He will NEVER get the vote of Republican WOMEN who were intending to vote for Hillary. So far I’ve not seen this issue discussed. The Republican women have been disgusted with Obama’s sexism — HATRED of women.

And a loss of 30% of the Democrats is huge — but this is only June. I expect that as the GOP increased their ad attack — and all the have to do is tell the truth. It must be amazing for Republicans to have such a wealth of material for anti-BO ads — they don’t have to make anything up!

I WILL NEVER THROW AWAY MY VOTE on a candidate, who propelled himself to a nomination by race-baiting, smearing his opponent, and lying about his record, and whose name is Obama….

After all the Bush administration has done, BO and the DNC have done more to save the Republican Party than any Republican ever could.

I will still be voting for a candidate who has integrity, dignity, and honor, who loves this country and has deep respect for its people.
That candidate should have been Hillary Clinton, but since, first the DNC and then the Super Delegates ignored the voters, it will be McCain..

Comment by salliort | 2008-06-08 20:23:05

I agree with you completely. McCain has proven his loyalty to this country and what it stands for and to its people for years, several of them inside the Hanoi Hilton where he was tortured for his ideals.

I think it’s time to torture Obama by denying him our votes.

I am an angry soon to be ex Democrat. I just hope my relative, Adlai Stevenson, who ran for President on the Democratic ticket for the first time in 1952, understands my anger and frustration and forgives me for walking away from a party to whom I have been loyal for decades and which is no longer loyal to me and to the beliefs that created it.

There are some Jews who much be self hating Jews (just like Obama hates his white half).

The specific Jews for Obama that I can think of are Josh Marshall (TMP). And then there’s Skinner at Demo-Underground — Skinner had “monitors” to patrol all comments and remove any that were in the least bit critical of Israel. So now they love love love Obama — who has no use for Jews (’cause they killed Jesus — according to Rev. Wright).

I guess money speaks loudly — pay the “progressive” blog owners enough and they’d support the devil himself.

Does anyone else believe that a huge realignment has happened? There’s been a major shift in values and morals — some of us are holding firm to what we believe in and other seem to be able to switch sides without any internal conflict. (That would be cognitive dissonance).

We, of course, knew all along that he had no qualifications, no experience and no strength of character to be, as he likes to say, President of the United States of America. When people say they are casting their votes in order to protect a woman’s right to choose, I say my vote against him is a vote to protect a woman’s right to choose. The DNC has proven that they couldn’t care less about allowing women a choice.

Many people are probably doing like me. I haven’t changed how I feel about Obama – now I am waiting. So many things have already come out about Obama – I feel like the scandals are only beginning. I have felt like Hillary knew some things about him that she didn’t use because of the explosiveness of it and what it would have done to the party and African Americans in particular. But she knows that the Republicans have this information and will use it – the only question is the timing. My sincere wish is that enough of it will come out before the convention that we will be saved from this awful mistake.

One of the reasons I supported Clinton was due to her backers being the lesser of two evils, Obama taking money from Farrakhan, and Auchi.

If Clinton takes his money, she is tainted, too, sorry.

You cannot do business with that type of person and represent yourself as something more than their lobbyist, as opposed to an unfettered advocate for the American people.

Auchi and Qadaffi deal in blood money, Americans, and others, were murdered because of the actions of these men, connected to terrorism.

That is not OK.

Comment by mimi | 2008-06-08 20:59:28

Sorry, but I don’t agree. Barack and Michelle Obama slandered Hillary and Bill. The Clintons should take them to Civil Court for what they did to their reputation in the AA community. The alienation in the black community over these lies is staggering. And it won’t change. Blacks will never believe the truth. There’s not enough money to compensate the Clintons for this.

Money is not a moral value. In the scheme of things it’s nothing. The way I look at it let them pay through the nose. It’s what they understand and still stick it to them when all of his skeletons coming junping out of the closet.

How anyone can support BO after close examination is mind boggling. I suspect some people want to be “good” party members.

The other thought I’ve had is that this very contentious primary with all the abuse from BO’s mindless hoards has been difficult for people. I wouldn’t be surprised if some people are just plain tired of the name calling, accusations of racism and the conflict that has arisen between people.

And of course others, who will remain nameless, write and/or blog for dollars and have the economic need to support the front runner so that they will have a growing audience of readers.

When asked if either political party would exploit the other candidate’s age or race he erroneously said that he didn’t believe that either candidate will use “ageism or sexism” in the general election campaign. Reminds me of Axelrod’s comment that Obama is the “punitive” not presumptive nominee. When living in lies, the subconscious tends to prevail.

The only way America won’t lose now is not to put Obama in the White House. I just ordered a “McCain for President” yard sign. I worked for Republicans and they’re not so bad (g). Ike was great. Obama and the Convicted Felon
Guy Benson
Sunday, June 08, 2008

Chicago’s sordid political machine churned out another felon last week. Ho hum. That’s business as usual in the Windy City, unfortunately. As news bulletins blared the latest political casualty, Northsiders and Southsiders alike shrugged—seemingly inured to the steady stream of arrests, indictments and convictions that too often define what Chicago Tribune columnist John Kass aptly terms “The Chicago Way.” This conviction, however, represents more than an average garden-variety corruption scandal. The demise of crooked businessman and political fixer Tony Rezko may very well end the political career of Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich. Perhaps more significantly, it adds another name to the expanding roster of Sen. Barack Obama’s disgraced friends, donors, and associates.

Prior to Wednesday’s verdict, the national Obamedia paid scant attention to the relationship between their preferred candidate and Mr. Rezko, who was convicted on 16 of 24 federal counts. A jury found Obama’s longtime friend and financier guilty of aiding and abetting bribery, mail fraud, wire fraud, and money laundering—all of which will likely contribute to a lengthy prison sentence. The federal convict and the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee have known each other for the better part of two decades, with the former raising approximately $250,000 for the latter’s various campaigns. After Rezko first offered Obama a job in the early 1990s, a friendship and political alliance was born; the two men shared dinners, joint outings with their wives, and a lucrative political network. Rezko served on Obama’s financing committee during his 2004 campaign, helping to raise approximately $160,000 for the aspiring U.S. Senator. Shortly thereafter, dark clouds began to gather over Chateau Rezko.

By 2005, Rezko’s shady business deals and alleged illegal activities had been widely reported in the Chicago press. Even so, Obama decided it would be a wise move to enter into a major property deal with his scandal-tainted friend. On the very same day Obama paid $1.65 million (a substantially smaller sum than the asking price) for his Hyde Park mansion, another buyer purchased an adjoining lot for $625,000—an additional sum the Obama’s could not afford. The new owner? Rezko’s wife, Rita, who somehow managed to secure the property despite an annual salary of $37,000. A short while later, Mrs. Rezko generously sold a strip of her new property to Obama so he could build a fence he had been hoping for. At the time of this second transaction, Obama admits he knew Rezko was experiencing some “legal problems.” Nonetheless, the deal went through and a lovely wrought-iron fence—paid for by Rezko—was erected between the two properties. The whole episode worked out pretty nicely for Obama. One might even call it an “exchange we can believe in.”

Now with Rezko facing a decidedly different type of iron fence, his deep ties to Obama demand further examination. The scandal presents three problems for Senator Obama:

First, anyone who watches Law & Order knows that the State constantly seeks to land the biggest fish possible. Convicted felons are sometimes offered legal carrots to help the prosecution produce even bigger scalps higher up the ladder. In this particular case, the likeliest prize is Gov. Blagojevich, whose ethical bankruptcy came to light during Rezko’s trial. Even so, if Rezko has any dirt on Obama, such information could prove quite valuable to a man facing decades in federal prison. Any public figure with skeletons in Rezko’s closet should be sweating over the thought of Rezko playing Deal or No Deal with US Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald. Then again, given Rezko’s sterling reputation, pristine character, and undying loyalty, I’m sure Obama has nothing to worry about.

Second, this relationship also shows Obama is not only a typical politician, but a typical Chicago politician. When the crooked machine produces hundreds of thousands in campaign dollars, a series of prestigious elected offices, and an elegant home, one doesn’t ask too many questions. Obama was more than happy to ride the gravy train, even after he got a noxious whiff of corruption. That’s the Chicago Way.

This also exposes Obama’s promise of a “new kind of politics” and squeaky-clean ethics as empty platitudes. His campaign website devotes an entire page to ethics, boasting—somewhat disingenuously —that Obama is the only major candidate who rejects fundraising dollars from lobbyists. He says he’s “done more than any other candidate in this race” to take on lobbyists and corruption. Evidently those evil lobbyists are the primary threat to clean governmental ethics, as opposed to corrupt fundraisers who help candidates seal multimillion dollar property deals. As the campaign moves forward, every time Democrats try to tar John McCain for some nebulous tie to a lobbyist, the Republican can fire back, “Last time I checked, my longtime friends and fundraisers aren’t in federal prison.”

Finally, and most strikingly, Rezko’s downfall raises more alarming questions about Barack Obama’s judgment. This would be less of an issue for Obama if he hadn’t just traipsed across the country for months speaking at podiums with the slogan “Judgment To Lead” emblazoned on the front. Experience is overrated, Obama tells us. In fact, his paper-thin presidential resume and far-left voting record really aren’t that important compared to his stellar judgment. This argument is precisely the reason why Obama’s gripes about “distracting” media scrutiny of his associations should fall on deaf ears. One of the few ways to cut through his enigmatic persona is to study the people with whom he’s surrounded himself for decades. The list isn’t reassuring: Rev. Wright, Father Pfleger, William Ayers, Bernadine Dohrn, Rashid Khalidi, and Tony Rezko.

Obama recently expressed shock that his church had become the subject of political controversy. Really? Was there another reason why he uninvited Jeremiah Wright to join him onstage at his presidential announcement last year? When he finally threw Wright under the bus upon hearing a regurgitation of Wright’s craziest hits at the National Press Club, he soberly stated the raving reverend was “not the same man I knew 20 years ago.” When asked about the Rezko verdict, Obama again claimed to be baffled: “This isn’t the Tony Rezko I knew,” he lamented. Sound familiar?

One has to wonder if Obama believes the American people to be a bunch of patsies. Perhaps he confuses the rest of us with his most ardent supporters, who reflexively applaud everything he says or does. The majority of American voters aren’t yet mesmerized by his spell, and this cynical act is starting to wear thin. He expects us to believe that he’s been an innocent sheep in the midst of barely-disguised wolves for decades, and that he was oblivious to their true nature all the while. He seems to think we’re buying the canned line from his internal TelePrompter that reads, “This isn’t the [fill in name of disgraced friend/radical associate] that I’ve known for [X] years.” When does this refrain become inoperable?

Maybe it’s cynical and unfair to assume that Obama is a liar who’s simply spinning tales in order to get elected. Let’s give him the benefit of the doubt and take him at his word: He’s a naive man who consistently, and badly, misjudges the character of even his closest associates. If he’s truly unable to discern the intentions of Jeremiah Wright and Tony Rezko after decades-long friendships, it’s completely reasonable to worry about his ability to effectively deal with antagonistic world leaders whose subversive intentions pose grave threats to world peace.

The Rezko aftermath forces Americans to wonder: Is Obama lying, or is he just clueless? Neither answer inspires much confidence in his ability to effectively lead our nation.

Unfortunately the pro-BO media refused to address this in their “news commentary” and during the debates, and those who voted for Obama in the primaries are in fact “..a bunch of patsies”.

It is now up to McCain’s campaign to finally focus on these questions, and hold the selectee accountable for his claims of “superior judgement’ and “leadership”, and “new kind of politics”.

“Let’s give him the benefit of the doubt and take him at his word: He’s a naive man who consistently, and badly, misjudges the character of even his closest associates.”

Yeah right! Let’s assume that! And that’s why he has no business any where near Ahmadinejad or anyone else.

If he’s this dumb and naive then he needs to stay in the Senate. It certainly doesn’t make him presidential material.

Also, I think people are greatly overestimating Rezko flipping at this point. The dirty Chicago machine is in play and they’ve promised Rezko a presidential pardon. Rezko will flip only if it looks like Obama can’t win.

Hillary has a movement not just simply democrats that can vote for whomever is put before them ~~
Asking many to vote for someone they have no connection to is not something Hillary’s supporters cannot do :
Yes we need a democrat in office but Hillary is one of her own….make do’s simply will not do..

18 million supporters voted for Hillary for her values
Her commitment to follow through to the end.
Her compassion for many she has helped.
her truth, her character, her views
Ready from day 1 to be Commander in Chief………..
The passion she has for the USA

These are the values her supporters find so distinctive !!
Not who the DNC & the media choose for us…

Hillary is one in a million u do not meet Hillary’s everyday…….
and there’s no one on the horizon that can take her place!!

HILLARY HILLSTARS ARE TRUE TO THE END.
WE DO NOT HAVE TO MAKE NICE
as the Lady we all need and look up to is now in the shadows!

GOD BLESS U HILLARY : SIMPLY PERFECT IN EVERY SENSE~~

I really appreciate this post because it sums up my perspective. I became convinced that Obama was a reiteration of GWB. His incredible lack of experience and his glittering surface are almost a mirror image of the present Oval office occupation that has unhinged this country. How can one come to that conclusion and then contemplate even for a nano second voting for Obama knowing it is a vote for more GWB? The issues go from small personal insults and mannerisms—the finger to HRC, a blog site redolent with hateful comments and posts from radical groups— to major manipulations of the truth—touting no lobbyist money while taking huge sums from exactly those sources; the use of Rovian tactics against HRCs UHC plan, MI and FL, on and on. There is no need to rehash all of it here because nothing has changed. How can the people who stood by these truths together only yesterday, suddenly be talking about voting for Obama today. I understand and accept that Hillary must do what she is doing as a gesture of unity but I know that I can not go in that direction and support Obama. My ears did not hear a concession speech yesterday but a clear definition of what HRC laid down as what is required to be a Democrat, a Clinton Democrat. I am reassured that here and with certain other pro HRC blogs there is a determination to defeat Obama and a recognition that the only way to do that is work for McCain’s election even though he is a poor choice. The defeat must be overwhelming or Obama will still be around as will that anti-middle class voice in the party. I think a landslide defeat is going to be hard to get because McCain is grabbing at protecting his right side as he tries to reach out to HRC voters and those two positions are in serious conflict.

Rashid Khalidi, himself, is not the issue of this article, this article is about the difference in descriptions from Barack Obama’s own words when he is front of once audience to his comments and praise when he is in a different place at a different time with a different audience. It is a question of judgment and the reader will decide for themselves if the growing list of questionable associations tied to Barack Obama is or is not indicative of his judgment or lack thereof.

We all need to join PUMAS.

It’s a website for Hillary supporters who haven’t drank the Obama kool aid.

Remember the primaries….

First state; Iowa votes: The Sucker Delegates and MSM call for Hillary to get out. Says it’s over.

Super Tuesday: Pundits, MSM: Hillary needs to get out.

Chris Mathews get tingles up his leg.

After every primary: Sucker D’s and MSM says it’s over for Hillary, get out.

Pa. & In.

( They are furious that she keeps winning)

Kentucky, West Va.: Hillary wins, gives Obama a ass whuppin in Ky and WV. ( smart smart people)

More sucker delegates call for her to withdraw.
Chris Matthews & Keith Obamerson spew insults at Hillary.

More Sucker delegates endorse Obama.

May 31st. “Our” Dem. Party meets and decides that Obama should have ALL the undecided votes from Michigan.
And even more, DNC take 4 from Hillary and gives to Obama.
They decide that Florida and Mich. are full of half people. You all only get half votes.

Before the last two state’s votes can be counted the Sucker Delegates RUSH to put Obma over the top.
( never mind the little people who voted)

DNC anoints the nominee.

The mandated healthcare and pre-K bothers me. I think parents should be able to choose at least where their children spend their formative years. Kelly the Sex Ed Bear freaked me out. In NYC, many of parents supported vouchers. Choosing the public school your child went to was highly competitive. I think this is a reason why so many Hispanics are rawn to the Republican party. They enjoy a government that allows them freedom, because they’ve seen how federal services are so often inadequate. Children just fall through the cracks. Programs like NCLB fail the public and make the friends of our lawmakers wealthy. I can’t believe Obama wants to expand this at the expense of NASA.

She didn’t look comfortable up there at all. It wasn’t just that she was suspending her campaign either. It was much more. You could tell by the way she said things that she didn’t BELIEVE it. Remember the day she made fun of Obama? “The clouds will part, the clouds will come down” Yeah that one. She sounded JUST LIKE THAT! I’m sure I’m not the only one that saw it. US Presidential candidate Barack Obama embraces Jay-Z

By Rahim, 01-10-2008 , 08:47 AM

US Presidential hopeful Barack Obama plans to utilize hip-hop artists to educate American people, should he be elected as the Democrat candidate.

Obama has already been dubbed “B-Rock” by Vibe Magazine, has managed to capture the imagination of the American hip-hop community.

The senator has confirmed that he plans to utilize hip-hop artists to educate American people, should he be elected as the Democrat candidate and then make it as President.

Speaking on US TV show “What’s In It For Us” he explained: “I’ve met with Jay-Z. I’ve met with Kanye (West). And I’ve talked to other artists about how potentially to bridge that gap.”

He added: “There are times, even on the artists I’ve named, the artists that I love, that there is a message that’s sometimes degrading to women, and uses the N-word a little too frequently.”

I just wish I could somehow filter into Obama supporters just how the general election campaign works. I’ll try anyway. Obamabots: this is what happens: a long, hot summer drags on and the general public puts the coming election on low pilot. The economy may get a little better, the Repub candidate starts making moderate sounding news bites, a little negative slam on the democrat candidate here and there is put out; and then labor comes and BAM!! full attack mode ensues. A scandal of the week is rolled out on Obambi; the former friendly newspeople are breathless with their jumping all over each other reporting the Repub campaign leaks; Obambi’s on the defensive (it doesn’t matter that he knows all this is coming); the endless poll watching groans on; Obambi-McCain debates show Obambi’s vacuous answers; suddenly Repub’s talk about a comeback in the House and Senate; and its just all so exciting for the formerly friendly Main Stream Media. Repub’s talk about how great a candidate Hillary would have been and how much they were afraid of her in the GE. Nov 5th comes and McCain’s smiling mug is all over the place. Hill and Bill won 2 general campaigns together. We need them for this one.

Comment by Uppity Woman | 2008-06-08 20:47:39

Let’s learn from Hillary’s mistakes. These people plan to steal the election in the GE. Let’s not make the mistake of underestimating them.

Comment by Disgusted | 2008-06-08 20:42:28

I will not vote for Obama. I will probably vote for McCain. My vote will mean absolutely nothing. Obama will carry my state (Illinois) by large numbers.
The thing the Obama supporters (trolls) don’t understand is that most people on this board have been completely turned off by Obama for several different reasons. Alot of the women are disgusted at the treatment of Hillary. Rightfully so. It was disgusting. Alot of people are disgusted in the racial overtones of the campaign. Also disgusting. Bill and Hillary Clinton are not and have never been racists. Calling decent non-racist people racists is not something that can easily be forgiven. Trampling all over a woman that is well respected by other women is not easily forgiven.

For me it is none of the above. Being a lifelong Cook County Democrat I have witnessed this garbage in every election. While disgusting, I think I have developed a thick skin for this kind of Politics. After most elections in Illinois you don’t really want to vote for anyone. So much crap has been flung around, you can not feel really happy with any candidate.

The reason I will not vote for Obama is where he comes from. Having lived my entire life under the firm hand of the Cook County (Chicago) Machine, I am well versed in what these people stand for. Anyone who honestly believes that they are “By The People, For The People” are in for a very rude awakening. They dont give a rats ass about you.

Roe vs Wade and the Iraq war, while powerful arguments, are not that useful, when the people you are trying to win over, simply do not believe a single word that Obama says. The people who are now lining up behind Obama after Hillarys speech are Hoping that Obama is a man of his word. He isn’t.

A lot of the anger comes from people who see Obama’s slime (Rezko, Trinity etc.) background not get the full attention by the media, adding insult to injury the DNC fiasco, the list goes on and on. I would rather bite the bullet and put up with 4 years of McCain out of principle, instead of having DEM crook in the oval office.

Comment by ken | 2008-06-08 21:02:42

Yes. McCain’s little pinkie would be better than Obama. In the real world, BO’s laundry list of scandals would have already disqualified him from running on any sane party’s ticket. But he used the race card as an excuse over and over, and the media was as complicit in backing him as they did Bush after 9/11. Of course, the party had the best candidate in Hillary but was too stupid to realize it.

Apparently he didn’t realize there would be no police protection for protesters.

Perhaps many some Hillary supporters are stepping up to the bar to drink the Koolaid because they want to be part of the the “Young and Popular Crowd.”

They’re tired of being electronically spat upon on the net and labelled racists.

That’s okay.

Polls showed 60% of Hillary Supporters would go The Way Of Obama. He who will heal the oceans the minute he becomes POTUS.

But we are the 40% who know better.

We are the 40% with thicker skin and a stronger sense of self worth, self awareness and self determination.

Hillary suspended her campaign, she did not concede.

That’s all I need to keep the faith and do my part to turn SuperDels away from Obama for the Denver Convention.

Instead of trying to convert the Obama faithfuls and the Hillary ship jumpers, I say we focus on petitioning the SuperDels and education the MANY MANY voters who have yet to vett Obama for themselves.

There numbers are minion.Let’s reel them in for Hillary.

And don’t forget that when the Reps are done 527ing the stuff that hasn’t come out with about him and Jews, you can kiss that block goodbye too. Then there are the seniors who absolutely abhor him. Hell, there’s only 27 million of them. How many gays and lesbians do you know who can stand him? Then there’s that pesky florida and michigan problem, and then there’s all those Latinos that feel AAs have treated them like shit.

Well guys, I was going to remain Independent but I now have to register as a Democrat, at least for September. You see, there is a challenger to John Kerry’s Senate seat in the Mass primary in Sept. Kerry tried to keep Ed O’Reilly off the ballot but Mr O’Reilly garnered 22.5% of the delegates at the Mass state convention on Sat. He only needed 15%. I will work my butt off to get Kerry OUT. I am sure he will have BO campaigning for him as well as the other Axelrod creation, Deval Patrick our not so illustrious Gov. Then I will switch back to Ind and vote for McCain for the GE. By the way, it was to be expected thaty some Hillary supporters would switch to the brown shirts, they know not what they do. After the 1980 Primary 45% of Kennedy’s supporters said they would not vote for Carter, the number ended up being closer to 27%.

Comment by KarenAnn | 2008-06-09 07:50:56

The fact that Kerry was unable to keep O’Reilly off the ballot and that he got 22.5% of the delegates shows that Kerry is vulnerable. However he had a 5-6mil warchest. If O’Reilly can raise some serious money I think that would show how big the cracks are in the Kerry-Kennedy-Patrick-Obama. Patricks only HOPE (get it?) is that Obama gets in and he gets a cabinet position.
Why? Because he most likely will not get re-elected.

Barack Obama, Kenya, his cousin Odinga and Islamic jihad

Obama and his paternal 1st cousin Odinga, wanted to bring the whole of Kenya under Sharia law. Obama campaigned for Odinga in August of 2006,just before he filed with the US Federal Elections Commission for his presidential candidacy.

The idea was simply to have the Luo tribe, mostly Muslims, to take over Kenya from the inheritors of colonial power, the Kikuyu, and bring the country under Sharia law, kick out the Western investors in the nation that had made it one of the most stable nations in Africa, and supplant those Western investors with wealthy Arab oil money. It all failed. Then Odinga yelled election fraud, and put his Luo Islamofascists into the streets of Nairobi to “protest” by murdering, raping and maiming Kikuyu people, including the recent burning alive of a church full of Christians.

I went there and posted that they were frauds. the arrogant little shit continued to post in my name and use my blog link right AFTER I posted. My blog readers have been on Obama watch and they bring the fraud posts to me and tell me where they are. They have impersonated several people from this forum too, including HARP, Military Mom, RedDragon, and some others. Obama dispatches them, you know. he has this plan called “Echo Chamber”. To make the net a big Obama echo, no matter how dishonest. He is behind this. he approves this. this is HIS plan to squelch dissent. If that is not one more great reason to make sure EVERYBODY you know doesn’t vote for the bastard, I don’t know what is. Barack Obama is not an honest man. he has no integrity and his internet savages are doing what he condones. Make no mistake about this, he is not “unaware”. Dick Morris Looks To ‘Swift Boat’ Hillary
RightBias.com ^ | 1-21-07 | Nancy Morgan

Posted on Sunday, January 21, 2007 11:42:50 AM by nancyvideo

Dick Morris, longtime former aide to Bill Clinton, is soliciting funds to finance an expose – documentary film of Senator Hillary Clinton who announced last week her intention to run for president in 2008.

In a letter sent to Republican mailing lists this week, Morris asks for contributions of $25 to $100 to help in his efforts.

“If you liked how the Swift Boat Veterans turned the tide against John Kerry, you understand how a top Clinton aide can turn the tables and stop a Clinton style liberal from becoming the next president of the United States.”

People say they won’t vote for Obama because he has no experience, he too snobby, or because of his friends – Rezko, Ayers, the racist preachers, the Iraqi crooks, and so forth.

I have a different reason and I find it odd that the media hasn’t addressed it yet.

The thing that completely turned me against him was the way he “won” this primary. We all know Hillary won the popular vote and I believe that this is representative of “the will of the people”.

What Obama did was not representative or even democratic. He won through delegates, not the popular vote. The delegates are based on an inequitable and disproportionate system which many have said should be abandoned for those reasons.

Obama took it a step further. He wanted to make sure he had the delegates and probably suspected he would have a hard time beating Hillary in the primaries, which he did. She had huge wins and won the big states needed to win in Nov..

So, he had his thugs go into the caucuses and threaten, pressure, and lock out voters. The worst of these cases was in Texas where voters had papers stolen, documents forged, people were pushed, blocked, sat down, thrown out, and locked out. There were threats, assaults, thefts, fraud, and corruption of every kind imaginable.

The proof is in the results. Texas is a clear example, Hillary won the legitimate primary votes and Obama “won” the delegates through the corrupt caucuses.

There were over 2000 complaints filed with the DNC in Texas alone, even with the phone lines jammed. Now that Obama has taken over the DNC I doubt that we will hear anymore about it.

I find it to be un-democratic, un-American, and shameful. That is why I’m not voting for Obama.

Why have such a thing on your website in the first place, it always happens that way once some thing negative on the Obama site is discussed and people become aware of it swoosh it goes never to be seen again, just like the Black Panther link.

How in all good sense can people vote for this man, cant they see that their is something scary about these people why don’t we have problems of all these kind of strange links that disappear on other candidates sites?

I can’t imagine how anyone can change their minds because of Hillary’s speech.

I have written over and over, this is not about Hillary – it is about Obama.

I do not share his values and beliefs. I sincerely believe Michelle and him are very racists.

I believe that a clear signal of things to come is the reinstatement of Father Pleger to Saint Sabrina with no restrictions.

Listen, Obama, Michelle, Wright, F. Pleger, Ayers, Farrakan, etc. will have free reign on saying anti-white statements. But, the reverse – whites best not dare say one word. Very frightening what I see coming.

Better wake-up America – this is some really bad stuff coming our way.

Also, read a story that if Obama is elected the stock market will fail due to his extreme tax increases – I have not researched but worth investigating.

Comment by Uppity Woman | 2008-06-08 22:19:12

Personal ties to Obama also were evident in some pork dispensed by his political allies. The Chicago-based Muntu Dance Theatre received a $4.5 million grant to help pay for a $10 million cultural center.

Obama’s mentor in Springfield, state Sen. Emil Jones (D-Chicago), sponsored the grant. And at the time $2.25 million of the grant was disbursed, Obama’s wife, Michelle, sat on the non-profit dance group’s board.

Obama said in the interview that at the time of the award in 2003 his wife wasn’t a board member, though tax returns of the charity indicate she sat on the board in 2002 and 2003. Jones’ spokeswoman said Michelle Obama did not lobby him for the funds.

To ProudMilitaryMom: Honestly… I had heard about this phenomenon, but I didn’t believe it could actually be true. It had to be some wacky internet rumor. Surely, Snopes would tell me the truth, and I could just giggle about the gullibility of anyone who could believe this level of hatred for Obama really existed. I guess I was mistaken. Reading this post and the comments was a real eye-opener. /end light-hearted teasing.

But, why? Why would any group of Democrats worthy of being called Democrats behave in such a manner? Why would any person act like this, regardless of political affiliation? I’ve seen disappointment and even grief when a favorite candidate lost, but this site, and the folks here who spew such anger and hate are beyond anything I’ve ever seen. Just incredible.

*sigh*

To Larry: I used to read your thoughtful posts across the internet, and always found something new to learn. The only explanation I can come up with for this level of vitriol is that Obama must have struck a very sensitive nerve in you, and you are lashing out because it is just too painful not to. And, you have your followers who reinforce you in this, perhaps because that same nerve was struck in them. There is something to be said, I suppose, for sharing the pain to try to lessen it.

See, I was never a Hillary-hater. I wasn’t her biggest fan, either. If she had won, I would have gladly supported her with time and money. Obama wasn’t even my second choice in candidates. But, he’s the guy who got the nod, regardless of whether you think it is right, wrong, fair, unfair, or anything in between. It doesn’t look likely that this will change, either.

And, he’s all that stands between us and four more years of tyranny. This beloved country of mine and yours cannot withstand too many more assaults before it won’t be recognizable as “America – Home of the Free, Land of the Brave ” anymore.

We all make choices. In this election, we can choose Obama or McCain. That’s it. Those are our choices. I see it as a choice between two possible futures – one is dark and cloudy, full of fear and hate. The other has a chance, if we all work together to make it happen, of at least being brighter than the last seven years have been.

I know what future I will choose. I’ll choose a future that gives my grandchildren hope, and a chance for a better tomorrow.

Larry, if you can see your way clear to rachet down the anger and hate a bit, and perhaps allow tempers to cool off, the energy you have gathered here could be a powerful force against McCain.

I am a tremendous Hillary supporter, but for the life of me I cannot support that fraud Obama and his horrible friends. I just cannot do it with a good conscience. He is so arrogant I can see him bringing himself down. Hillary was forced to appease the creep, but she did not release her delegates so there is still hope. If the farce continues, however, I will vote for McCain, no matter how much it pains me to do so because we at least know his record. Like- he actually HAS one, unlike dear, incompetent, misogynist Barry. I am an Independent who has always voted Dem., but they have outraged me this year. I will not forget or forgive. I will not fall in line w/their evil plan or “anointed” candidate. The hell with them! I actually research the candidates’ records & specific proposals before I choose one. Nobama has no specifics that I have heard of, and his supporters apparently like it that way. I support Hillary because she has a plan and can articulate it, any time, any place. And no, Sen. Obama & your ugly trolls- “uh, uh, uh, uh, uh…” is not remotely related to being a good or articulate speaker. And by the way- plagiarism is stealing. We’ve all heard Obama say over and over “We can not have another 4 years of George Bush failed policies blah blah blah”. I agree. I do however find it odd that one of Obamas biggest fundraisers was also one of Bush’ biggest fundraisers in Chicago.

“Rezko has had ties to each of those politicians in some fashion over the years, from a once-close relationship with Obama, a first-term U.S. senator, to co-hosting a $3.8 million Chicago fundraiser in 2003 for President Bush. According to Newton’s Law of Gravity, what goes up must come down.

Well! Hillary has just converted her potential energy into latent energy.

This construes that Hillary latent energy is there and can be converted into potential energy instantly at the tip of a finger.

If this presidential nominee election has violated the rules and bylaws of the Constitution of the Democratic Party, this election must be declared null and void or Obama must be disqualified and Hillary must be reinstated as the Democratic presumptive nominee.

Otherwise Obama and his sycophants can expect civil disobedience from the voters- bosses.

This is what they have been counting on all along TRH. The DNC, Obama’s campaign and his enablers all are banking on the collective amnesia of the American People. We knew this was going to happen. This is why we can never really have change in this country.
The only real way to “Change” our corrupt system of Government is to rise up and demand that change. The only way that can happen is if we all stand by our convictions and not fall in line because someone asked us to. I am a Hillary supporter! But I will do as she has asked after all I’ve learned about Obama! How could I then turn to my children, my wife and say that all I’ve been telling them about Obama may be true, But Hillary told me to back him so I guess I will shut the F*** up and fall into line? How can I then post anything positive about Obama after all I’ve learned about him? No, I can not do that!
What many of these people seem to forget is, Hillary is a politician. This is Her path not mine. She did what she had to do to fight another day. I on the other hand am not a politician. I am a citizen of these United States! I do not have to sit at a table with these people. I do not have to work with them. What I am obligated to do as a citizen is to educate those that are lost. If they choose to listen, fine. If not, so be it. but I will not be a hypocrite and suddenly disregard all I have said and all I have written because Hillary asked me to. I am saddened she has chosen to suspend her campaign. I still believe she is the best hope we have to right the wrongs of the Bush years. I admire her and I respect her1 But I am not her tool! I will not do as I am being told to do simply to bring harmony to the Democratic Party! Who will I vote for? I do not know at this moment nut what I can tell you is this…..IT WILL NOT BE OBAMA!

I’m blown away by people calling those that cannot support McCain “fickle” and worse. I would think that turning your support to McCain, a republican, would be pretty fickle imho. I have no idea what might happen with Obama’s many skeletons, before August. I just find it so unsettling that people are jumping over to make McCain some sort of savior right now.. for all the talk of seeing how this plays out until the convention, why are people trying to help McCain? Frankly I see this rush to McCain’s side as giving up on Hillary. Hillary has asked that we help a Democrat get elected and suddenly people are born-again Republicans? Do you ever wonder how many GOP operatives might be inspiring that righteous anger amongst us?

Sad to see how quickly the division takes hold now with the regulars here at NQ and Taylor Marsh, because we all don’t agree how to proceed without Hillary. Perhaps I’m seeing more clearly about everything without the us vs. them dynamic anymore. It’s just a different “us” vs. a different “them” now.

As a regular commenter here who has earned some respect, and who has given out much support to other Hillary supporters, it just breaks my heart to see new battle lines being drawn, this time with myself on the wrong side.

I had an ephiphany yesterday regarding all of this. I talked to my adult stepson. He supports Obama, but would not be considered a bot. I jokingly asked him who he would be voting for and he looked at me as if I were insane. He said no way in hell would he vote for McCain, and brought up the very things that I cannot stomach about him. He then said that he was back and forth between Hillary and Obama, but said in all honestly that if Hillary was the nominee he’d have totally supported her. And it was like.. ‘duh, of course I’d support the Democrat!’

He also told me that in all his places online, and amongst his friends, he recognized the fervent Ron Paul supports overnight become raging assholes supporting Obama. He said it was like it wasn’t the candidate that mattered to these guys, it was abusing people online as part of some sick fraternity.

My point is that not everyone that supports Obama is an asshole, and not everyone that supports Hillary or McCain is a saint.

Bottom line… the best times in my life were during a Democratic presidency, and the worst… well, those would be the past 7, with Bush. Why in the HELL would I vote for a man that kisses and hugs Bush, fawns all over him, and will absolutely continue the PNAC march to reshape the Middle East.

I refuse to lift a finger for McCain. Why should he get my vote? Truly.. if I want to make a statement, I will register Independent. But I’m just not willing to risk a never ending war in the Middle East to send a message to Howard Dean.

All I know is that it made me sick to see the hateful things written about Hillary by people who didn’t know her, and I’ve watched NQ slide into a place where people call Obama and his wife “pigs” on a regular basis. When people here degenerated into rude comments about Obama and his wife’s appearance, I stood up and spoke up against it. When an overzealous commenter got racist, I called them out. I won’t cross that line, and I don’t want to spend any more time in a place that inspires that.

If that makes me an asshole. So be it. If I’m not welcome here anymore, fine.

“Why in the HELL would I vote for a man that kisses and hugs Bush, fawns all over him, and will absolutely continue the PNAC march to reshape the Middle East.”

I have never seen McCain “fawn” all over Bush, and I already am an Independent voter who closely followed the Republican primaries earlier. Going back further than that, there is certainly no love lot between Bush and McCain. It wasn’t that long ago that disgusting rumors were spread about McCain’s family, especially the daughter he and his wife adopted from an orphanage in Bangladesh, I believe it was run by Mother Teresa.

McCain has gone back and forth on some Bush policies, but he is outside of the neocon loop. He has nothing except he is friends with Kristol who is writing for the NY Times now. You’re going to have more of a military presence in the Middle East now under McCain than you would under Clinton. However, I see Obama bringing about “endless war” through his own inexperience – just like George W. Bush.

It was the Carter administration that led to this whole mess we’re in now. Google “Bush Safari Club.” This was when Carter dismantled our military and intel, driving unemployed spooks into the private sector. The Saudis got the Bush CIA to look the other way while Saudi proxies developed nuclear and paramilitary capabilities in exchange for petrodollar funding for CIA black operations banned by the Democratic Congress.

We live in extremely dangerous times. There is too much at stake to leave matters of national security that have heavy geopolitical ramifications in the inept hands of another learn-as-you-go President. We have all done our homework on John McCain and feel confident that he will act in the best interests of the American people. Hillary Clinton was our first choice, as she is a bright and capable woman with a unique relationship to the most successful Democratic administrations in American history. It was painful seeing her work and ideas dismissed and see her candidacy fade away.

She might have endorsed Obama for her own political reasons, but he is a big gamble not just for the Democratic party but for the country and our allies. He and Bush are more alike than McCain and Bush, in terms of character and experience, the two biggest factors in most voters’ decision-making. Obama and Bush get their money from many of the same sources. I find it strange that a political unknown had his first 100 million before he even announced his run. It took Clinton years to build up that kind of fund raising apparatus.

You’re entitled to feel however you will, and of course, we can understand you’re young and loyal to the Democratic party. I don’t see how that makes you an asshole. Perhaps you will feel more comfortable on another site. I have rarely encountered racism at this site. But anyways, good luck to you.

Democrat does not always equal good, and Republican does not always equal bad. I have always believed this to be true.

In the case of Obama versus McCain, I will vote for McCain. This decision was actually easier than I thought it would be. Obama is a Democrat in name only. He conducted his campaign in a way that could only be described as Rovesque. On the other hand, John McCain, although not a Saint, has had at least a modicum of civility when dealing with Hillary. One would think that these roles would be reversed, but that was not the case.

I will not reward Barack Obama with my vote after what I have witnessed. He has NO moral authority to speak about. He has NO real accomplishments to point to. He has NO clear vision of where he intends to lead America. He has NO legitimacy to the nomination.

I am not afraid of the big, bad Republicans. John McCain is not George Bush regardless of how the Democrats want to frame him. When Democrats try to use fear of Republicanism as a tactic to keep other Democrats in line, one can point out that they should look within their own party for examples of things that every person living with a democracy should take umbrage about. As an example, one Democrat (Obama) willfully attacked a fellow Democrat (Hillary) in a manner that was reprehensible. The DNC failed to put a stop to some of the most outrageous attacks. As Mimi indicated in her post on this thread, voting for John McCain is not about sour grapes. It is about sending a message to the DNC that rank and file Democrats know what went on in this election, and that we are disgusted with it. Our leaders failed us, and therefore, we will seek their ouster. If we were to vote for Barack Obama, it will allow these leaders to retain their influence within the party. By voting against Obama, it will force the party to clean house. Failed leaders normally do not hold their positions for very long. Will the act of voting for McCain result in 4 more years of a Republican leadership? Yes, but more importantly, it will also result in the revamping of a tarnished Democratic party of which we all can be proud.

You need to vote your conscience and express yourself however you wish.

I do suggest not to get so hung up on labels. Moderate Dems have a lot more in common with Moderate Reps than with either far left or far right.

That’s just one of many pics. You might want to educate yourself on the subject of Bush and McCain.

I did have to chuckle at your comment that McCain is only “friends” with Kristol of the PNAC. Guilt by association goes both ways.

I still can’t figure out why people would support a republican, when it is the republican controlled media that screwed Hillary and Al Gore over. It’s the republicans that started and continue this endless war. They are beating the drum of war in Iran, sanctioning torture, spying on us, the list goes on.. But to each his own.

Comment by Hope Floats | 2008-06-09 01:55:12

I read William Kristol’s columns in the NY Times sometimes and watch FOX news sometimes, as well. I was not shocked by the Rev. Wright scandals and William Ayers associations as you’d think.

For instance, I think Ayers is a snot-nosed terrorist STILL because of the work he continued to do with Obama on the Woods Foundation. Ayers’ father is the link between Axelrod (Tribune and Excelon) and Commonwealth Edison. There are no swans swimming in the Chicago sewer where Obama’s boss Davis and Tony Rezko, Nadhmi Auchi, the Carlye group, TUCC, Blagojevich and Rashid Khalidi; these people are modern gangsters. Obama knew them as colleagues and cut pay-to-play deals with them. That is just plain guilt. Guilt by association is a cop out.

William Ayers is not a not only a story but a revealing one. There is not that much difference these days between terrorists and corrupt arms dealers and crooked businessmen. William Kristol is a card-carrying neoconservative. McCain is guilty of nothing by being friends with him.

McCain has shown better judgment than Obama and has a strong record of reform and bipartisanship that Obama also lacks. You can post pictures of McCain hugging George Bush, smiling at Falwell, anything you like. McCain’s record stands for itself, and I have satisfactorily reviewed it.

Catriley,

Long before Ron Paul was knocked out of the race, I locked horns with Obama supporters online. They were ugly. Nice try but that won’t work. I didn’t just come to my decision as a result of Hillary’s speech yesterday. And if you are a regular poster here and have been paying attention, many of the regulars here have been saying for weeks that they would vote for McCain before Obama. If you haven’t been paying attention, then who’s fault is that?

Everyone is entitled to cast their vote as they see fit. I’m not among those who are have issues with the Hillary supporters who have decided to take Hillary at her word. I’m not going to do what the Obama supporters have done all primary long, try to deprive an American citizen of the right to support the candidate of their choice.

The DNC gave many of us here no choice. It’s alright if you don’t agree with our decision. It doesn’t make you an asshole, it just makes us have to agree to disagree.

This is no longer about Hillary. It’s about the DNP/DNC. It’s about sending a message.

Also, I, too, repudiate, the outrageous and offensive racist remarks about Obama and Michelle. But, I will not defend them. Why? Because I, as an AA, am disgusted with the level of race baiting Obama brought into the campaign. He started it and so now he has to take it. Believe me, if he had waged a clean fight, me and Al Sharpton would be loaded for bear. Now, he has to fight his own battles, because quiet as it’s kept, I can fight mine on my own.

I’m a big believer that if you dish it, you have to take it! And these two dished it BIG TIME!

I will soon be a registered Independent. This election is no longer about political party. It must be about who is the most qualified to lead our country in these troubling times. That person is not Obama. Obama will just bring all of that into our White House. It is mind boggling how so many people let the media brainwash them, don’t they have a mind of there own. Obama forgets one thing, most bitter people who cling to their guns and religion can not be bought or brainwashed. We still have our dignity and we can think for ourselves.

Thank goodness I could come to this blog and have faith that there are people who aren’t morphing into Obamabots just because the DNC has crowned Obama king. He was a race-baiting arrogant schmuck last week and he will remain a race-baiting schmuck for the rest of his political career. He’s an opportunist who used anyone who was willing to stick money in his pocket to get elected. Why should I vote for him now? The DNC could rot for all I care and they can have their empty suit candidate.

Taylor Marsh and the rest of those who are suddenly supporting Obama sound like a bunch of hypocrites…the sudden love for Obama is a joke.

Well. Reading through the responses to my comment make it clear. I’m done with NoQuarter. Sad, because I respect the hard work done here during the primary.. but frankly it’s morphing into a strange pro-McCain site.

The fact that so many here and at TM are willing to turn against people so quickly makes me believe this place is not welcome to me anymore. Frankly, y’all are starting to sound just like the Nader supporters all over the progressive sites in 2000, that were convinced that Gore was no better than Bush.

Hey, I’m respecting Hillary’s wishes. For me, it WAS about Hillary. And I’m waiting until after August to throw my support to anyone. The country and the world is fucked up beyond reason right now, and it wasn’t a Democrat who did it.

Anyone who does not agree with you is now an “Obamabot”, now I can see how narrow-minded we must look to people that drop in here. Wow.

Comment by Yo | 2008-06-09 01:55:02

You don’t get it do you. It’s not about Hillary or about McCain, it’s what is best for this country. Having someone forced down my throat by the DNC is not democratic and in protest I will vote McCain. Obama was bought and paid for by corporate interests. Do you really think he got $100 million from small donors. In your dreams buddy.

I liked Obama when I saw him on Oprah last year with his wife Michelle and he had just released his book. I thought what a nice young man and I thought he was a great speaker and would make a good president.

I was all for him until the race baiting started and he began to attack the Clintons. Whatever else you may say about Bill, this country never saw so much prosperity as we did under his Presidency and when Obama and his minions began trying to make him into a racist it was completely over for me.

When Obama and his supporters started the blatantly sexist campaigning and Obama did not stand up for Hillary and the DNC was complicit as well, I decided to leave the party that no longer represented me. This is about that sleazebag Obama not doing the right thing. The only way I know to punish this party for what they have done (set back race relations and feminism) is to take them down in the hopes that the party can be reborn or a new party can be formed.

By the way, Obama lost so many states after the Wright scandal because people finally woke up to him. I think if this election season was to begin again Obama would never have the nomination. I know there are lot of people who are having buyer’s remorse over voting for him in the first place and if they had it to do over again they wouldn’t vote for him. I work in the public sector and I have this refrain over and over again.

Just don’t let your guard down fellow NQ brothers and sisters.

Sorry, but she did lose. She ran an awful campaign in many ways, but still ran tough until the end. The reality, though, is that she did in fact lose. Counting the votes in a rogue primary in which there is only one name on the ballot is not really winning. It just isn’t. It was a close race, but she lost.

Comment by Mr. Sanders | 2008-06-09 11:11:42

Hello,

I’m a lifelong democrat and Obama supporter. If Hillary would have won the nomination I would have had no problem voting for her. She’s been someone I public life I’ve admired for years. As someone who saw Bush get re-elected I understand how hard it is to see your candidate lose.

But there’s far too much at stake in this election. A vote for John McCain would be a vote against everything Hillary Clinton has fought for, it would be a vote against women’s rights , against national healthcare (Hillary’s most passionate policy objective). It’s a vote to keep my cousin in Iraq, away from his children. It’s a vote to keep Americans under surveillence.

I ask all of you to please reconsider for the sake of Hillary Clinton’s legacy and for the sake of our country.

Thanks

Comment by Jeff | 2008-06-09 11:16:18

By every objective standard you are lost, confused and misinformed. That fact that she was a credible candidate at all was because of her husband. That fact is correct, unpleasant though it may be, absent a blue dress Hillary would not be in the US Senate and not a candidate for President. Nepotism and dynasty are what this campaign was about. Not feminism. Not breaking barriers. She lost because she had no soul, no purpose other than raw, naked ambition fused with a sense of entitlement.

Comment by Chuck | 2008-06-09 11:16:23

I completely understand that if some people prefer McCain over Obama, and I understand preferring Clinton over Obama, but I don’t much understand Clinton supporters preferring McCain. On matters of governance, there is very little difference between Clinton and Obama, but a world of difference between Clinton and McCain; on what issues does McCain represent a rational alternative to Clinton dropping out, as opposed to Obama?

If it is merely hatred of Obama as a person because he defeated Clinton in the primary, then it is hard to describe such behavior as anything but irrational. Sitting out the election is one thing, but if you are a thinking Democrat who supports Clinton on the issues, as opposed to a knee-jerk Kool-Aide drinking hack, Obama is clearly preferable to McCain. It is interesting to see such people describe Obama supporters as “Obots” when they are clearly engaging in that sort of groupthink themselves.

Comment by Panger | 2008-06-09 11:18:00

Here’s what confuses me: from what I’m reading, most of you here believe Obama is terrible in many ways, yet you watched your candidate give a speech endorsing and lavishing praise on him.

Does Clinton believe what she said in her speech? If yes, and you have so much regard for her, isn’t it logical that would affect the outlook of many of her supporters?

If no, that means she lied in her speech. Therefore, shouldn’t you be holding Hillary Clinton partially responsible for promoting “Cult Aide”?

If she is the remarkable person you say she is – and if Obama is the threat to democracy you all think he is – shouldn’t she have stuck to her principles and stated she was unable to support him?

Why is Clinton given a pass on a politically disingenuous act but not Obama? Why the different standards?

I am genuinely curious about this.

Thanks in advance for your responses.

OY, new to politics I see. She has to pander to the DNC just like Mccain had to pander to the GOP and appear to move to the right. But she knows how pissed we are and that’s why she didn’t concede, she suspended her campaign.

I supported Obama from Super Tuesday on, once the Clintons began to use racist innuendo, and guilt by association (still alive and well in many of these unfortunate comments). Had Obama lost I would have undoubtedly been as bereft and angry as so many of Sen. Clinton’s suporters are now. It doesn’t surprise me there are some who cannot get past their dissapointment, but it does surprise me that some are committed to defeating Obama in November.

To them I would say, ‘If you feel entitled to your spite, have at it. But picture the America you’re working for. At best, John McCain in the White House, and gridlock with a Democratic Congress, and at worst, greater budget deficits pushed onto the backs of our children, an endless war in Iraq (and possibly Iran) and gasoline still more than $4 a gallon, no reform of the campaign and electoral process, and more reactionary Supreme Court justices – for starters.

If that doesn’t give you pause between now and November, if undermining the Obama candidacy is the best you can do, then you were never a Democrat in the first place.

Goodbye, good riddance, good luck.

What I can’t understand is that if you like Hilary so much, why don’t you honor her wishes and support the Democratic candidate? If you don’t think universal health care, protecting a woman’s right to choose, sensible energy policy, increased spending on education, an engaged and realist foreign policy, a fairer tax system, etc. are more important than your hurt feelings because your candidate lost a tight and hard-fought race, then you’re no better than the Naderites that helped us get to this sorry state in the first place.

The comments here are worse than the article. If Clinton really embodied all that you believe, then I guess you must be a cyncical, say-anything, scruples-free person.

Clinton LOST the election, PERIOD. Even if you counted the disqualified FL and MI contests (the disqualification something Clinton, Penn, and Ickes endorsed from “day one”), guess what? Obama still wins! The nomination is a battle for delegates, everyone knew that. The only conceivable way Clinton “wins” the popular vote is by not giving Obama any of the MI “uncommitted” and by ignoring the four caucus states who don’t report total numbers.

You Clinton dead-enders are a disgrace to both your party and the nation. Candidates lose, that’s what elections are for. Did any of you cry over the losses of Bill Bradley, Paul Tsongas, or John Edwards?

Check out Time magazine today. Clinton lost the womens vote for crying out loud. Maybe those women saw no feminist in Clinton. Her entire career was a model of unfeminism: her entire experience argument is derivative of her husband’s, a serial sexual predator who she enabled all of these years. Had she divorced him before her Senate run and went back to “Rodham” I may have had an ounce of respect for her.

Obama did nothing wrong but run an excellent campaign. He took numerous negatives from Clinton (”young”, “kid”, “fairy tale”, “Jesse Jackson”, “as far as I know”, the Kenyan native dress photo, to name just a few). But he stuck to his positive message and won FAIR and SQUARE.

Get over it.

You know, Mark, reading this page I want to say to your post, “here, here.”

But I think Mr. Sanders’ tone is probably the best one to take, here, because nerves are still raw and time for reflection is needed.

I understand that the supporters of either losing candidate would certainly review and debate such a close-fought and intense nomination process.

The real test though is to ask the so-called “dead enders” to listen carefully to Hillary’s own words this Saturday – which I believe were genuinely heartfelt and not “pure politics for the DNC.” I was an early Clinton supporter who switched my vote to Obama but I was never prouder of Hillary than I was on Saturday, and I still feel she has a lot of potential and a lot to offer this country. She was an eloquent defender of Democratic party principals and the task before us now is to move forward and see our choice clearly. McCain is not a legitimate choice for anyone who cares about the issues that Hillary cares about.

And if Hillary’s supporters want to see her ever play a significant role in an administration, the only choice is to vote for Obama. Obama will certainly put her and Bill into any administration he creates. But if Obama loses in 08 because of Hillary Democrats voting for McCain, Hillary’s political career will be over – not only will she have no support in 2012, there there would be a backlash from concerted efforts in NY to oust her from her Senate seat. That would probably fail but it would be close and would cost her much in terms of influence in the party, and her Presidential ambitions would be over. That would be a shame, and especially so for those who claim to be her “supporters.”

It amazes me that Clinton supporters can insist that she somehow deserves the nomination – despite Obama’s double-digit lead in national polls of Dems and the fact that he won more states, delegates, supers and yes, raw votes …

… but we’re the cultists?

I trust that the overwhelming majority of Clinton’s supporters, after the dust settles and some of the hurt feelings from a tough campaign are soothed, are going to vote for Obama in the fall. The rest are either GOP trolls or people so committed to identity politics that nothing Obama could do short of ceding the nomination would satisfy them.

You want to live in some fantasyland where Obama “stole” the nomination? You want to sit out or vote for McCain in the fall? Be my guest.

Hey guys, let the Obama trolls talk to themselves. If there is no response or exhange with them it will get tiring for them. You don’t want this site taken over like MyDD and they are beginning to come here in droves.

LET’S NOT FEED THE TROLLS.

That’s right, Yo, you’ve lost, so why not concede by refusing to debate those who you disagree with? After all, what is a refusal to debate those you disagree with or a to pretend that name-calling is the same as making an argument but an admission of defeat?

Yes, nice post Mr. Yo: simply ignore those who list the inconvenient truths about your candidate. Obama won and deserved to win the nomination. Sane people will also believe he deserves to win the presidency and will support him. Others like you should just stay in your deluded fantasy world.
