Big Trouble in Obamaland

Now that the glamor and glitz of Obama’s illegitimate grab of the Democratic nomination has worn off, it is time for a little sanity to set in. Namely, how is it that Obama is going to carry those states where as he admitted himself, he believes the people there are bitter and clinging to their guns and religion? The answer will come as no surprise to anyone rational. He is going to have a tough time winning states like Pennsylvania and Ohio. There is no doubt about that.

Racial attitudes pose challenge for Obama

“I don’t think our country is ready for a black president,” Susick, who is white, said in an interview in the paint store where she works. “A black man is never going to win Pennsylvania.”

Now if we were in campaign mode you would see Axelrod, Plouffe or Jackson point out that the person making the comment was just a racist and therefore could be dismissed. But thankfully we aren’t in campaign mode and people like Susick are allowed to speak their mind without being labeled as something they are not.

More troubling is the statistic that won’t go away. No matter how much money and bullshit the Obama people try to throw at it.

In the April 22 primary, Susick voted for Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, who carried Pennsylvania by 10 percentage points. Perhaps more troubling for Obama, one in four Clinton’s backers told exit pollsters they would vote for McCain if Obama were the nominee; an additional 17 percent said they would not vote at all.

Look at this closely. 25% of Hillary supporters said they would vote for McCain and another 17% said they wouldn’t vote at all. That is a whopping 42% of Hillary supporters that WILL NOT support Obama. You might call that a significant statistic.

More worrisome are longtime Democrats who backed Clinton in April but are threatening to abandon the party now that she is not the nominee.

Rose Iezzi, who lunched recently with two friends at a Greensburg cafe, is one. All three women are middle-aged, work for an accountant and admire Clinton. But only Iezzi took a hard stand against Obama.

“I think he’s a snake oil salesman,” she said. “He’s a little too slick and smooth.”

“He just doesn’t appeal to me, and not because of race, definitely,” she said in an interview in which race had not been mentioned.

In fact for all the attempts to call the people that will not support Obama racists, the facts tell another tale. A tale that doesn’t fit in to well with the lies the Obama camp would have you believe. Despite the exit poll claims we were spoon fed by the Obamedia, the truth tells us something else entirely.

In interviews with 40 Pennsylvanians across three counties that Clinton won by big margins, only one person indicated opposition to Obama simply because of his race.

Sounds a little less troubling than we were initially led to believe. Some estimates had the percentage as high as 20%. So much for the reliability of exit polls despite the DNC’s illegitimate reliance on them.

And if this was just Pennsylvania perhaps Obama and the DNC could write it off. As they have so many other things. But the problems in Pennsylvania apparently also resonate in Ohio where Obama not only lost to Hillary but is losing ground to McCain.

Clinton’s supporters still wary of Obama

Harper was impressed by Clinton’s empathy for the struggling middle class and said she would have voted for her this fall. But now that Barack Obama has sewn up the Democratic nomination, Harper isn’t sure whom to support.

Obama’s comments about “bitter” Pennsylvania voters turning to guns and God turned her off, and she’s concerned that Republican John McCain represents a continuation of the Bush administration that she doesn’t think the country can afford.

“Now, I’m kind of in limbo,” Harper, 53, said last week during an interview in Hanging Rock at the Ohio University Southern Child Development Center where she works.

So Bittergate still resonates in Ohio as I am sure it resonates elsewhere. People have not only not forgiven Obama for his comments, they have come to trust him even less recently.

Last week, The Dispatch retraced Clinton’s trip, and in interviews with nearly three dozen people in places she visited, it was clear that although Obama has fans in the region, he has work to do to win over voters such as Harper.

There is a disconnect that Ohio voters instinctively feel toward Obama. Hillary they got. She touched them, made them feel visible, important. Obama, not so much.

“It was like we meant something to her,” said Chuck Denney, 55, of Gallipolis, who works at a nearby power plant and was having lunch last week at the original Bob Evans restaurant in Rio Grande where Hillary Clinton stopped in February.

But the Obama campaign and their DNC enablers aren’t worrying about Ohio. They have a plan. They honestly think that getting popular governor Ted Strickland to campaign for Obama is all he needs. And Strickland seems to think so too.

The governor said Friday he will encourage Obama to spend time in Appalachia and focus on such “kitchen table issues” as jobs and health care.

“I think if he does that and does it effectively, with my help — and I will help — that the folks in the communities that you’ve just visited will give him an honest hearing,” Strickland said.

But Buckeyes have to ask the pertinent question. Why is it that Obama didn’t reach out to Appalachia before, when he was courting Ohio for the nomination? He instead referred to them as bitter white people that cling to guns and religion.

So, sorry Governor Strickland. As popular as you are and deservedly so, you aren’t going to hoodwink the good people of Ohio into believing Barack Obama suddenly respects hard-working blue collar white people. Because we already know that he does not. Except for when not respecting them gets in his way to power.

These latest revelations, coming just days after Obama’s presumptive coronation as the Democratic nominee, are mere warning shots. More will come, surely. I expect them to dribble out a little at a time. The question is: Will the people that have the authority to do something about it take action before it is too late?

And I can’t say with any sincerity that I am hopeful they will.

This is freak’in hilarious, the Kos blog is beside themselves because Larry Sinclair
will have a news conference at the National Press Club, just too funny. poor poor
Obamabots, lol.

http://action.firedoglake.com/page/petition/stoppingsinclair
Kos put this on their website to try and stop Larry Sinclair from his new conference next Wed. June. 18 2008, what a bunch of scared rabbits, lol. Obama is free to show up and defend himself, it’s called free speach Obama, get it, fool.

Now the goon squad at Kos have taken it upon themselves to call and harass the National Press Club into trying to force them to cancel Larry Sinclair’s press conference. ANYBODY that believes in free speech needs to call the National Press Club and let them know we want to hear what Larry Sinclair has to say and that we can, as adults, make up our own mind as to the contents thereof.

I already performed a caller ID exploit two years ago, so I can call repeatedly, and every time it gives caller ID a different number. I think the NPC will be hearing from me a little.
Thank you, Markos.

I have emailed the above post to NPC and let them know that ROBO calls with FAKE caller ID’s would be coming their way from disgruntled OBamabots from the Kos blog, lol. I’m sure they will be pleased at the dishonesty from the Kos slime, lol.

Fun to watch! Scurrying around like a bunch of cockroaches trying to figure out how to stop “free speech”.

Comment by Mary | 2008-06-12 21:45:45

They really are in a frenzy.

Between the Michelle tape and Larry Sinclair and the FBI mole at the Rezko trial, they’re definitely panicked.

Amusing to watch, now that they’re own candidate has to stand on his own merit.

Obama site confronts rumors

WASHINGTON (AP) - Democrat Barack Obama’s campaign said Thursday that Michelle Obama never used the word “whitey” in a speech from the church pulpit as it launched a Web site to debunk rumors about him and his wife.

The rumor that Michelle Obama railed against “whitey” in a diatribe at Chicago’s Trinity United Church of Christ has circulated on conservative Republican blogs for weeks and was repeated by radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh. The rumor included claims of a videotape of the speech that would be used to bring down Obama’s candidacy this fall.

“No such tape exists,” the campaign responds on the site, . “Michelle Obama has not spoken from the pulpit at Trinity and has not used that word.”http://www.fightthesmears.com

The site is a response to the realities of a brave new world, where information travels 24 hours a day on blogs and voters are increasingly turning to the Internet for information. It’s a particular problem for Obama, a relative newcomer to national politics who is still unknown to many voters and has been the target of persistent misinformation campaigns online.

In another sign of the campaign moving into the general election race, the Democratic National Committee’s spokeswoman said Thursday its political and field operations are relocating to Chicago, where Obama’s campaign is based. While other departments will remain in Washington, it’s an effort to streamline the campaign and party efforts in one strategy instead of the overlapping efforts of past presidential elections.

Comment by Dave_Not_For_Obama | 2008-06-12 19:17:24

That’s real good, move the DNC to an even more corrupt place like Chicago, I’m sure Rezko is chuckling from his jail cell at that revelation. Maybe they have space in the basement of Trinity United Church.

Comment by BluDawg | 2008-06-12 19:27:44

Auchi is in Chicago too. I understand France would like to talk to him about the “food for oil” money.

Snakes in the Illinois Combine pit!

Comment by catherine | 2008-06-12 19:44:48

Actually Auchi has been denied a visa to enter the US. There’s reason to believe he wanted to bribe some Illinois politician..Obama?? through Rezko for a visa.

Comment by POdVet | 2008-06-12 20:00:53

Alsammarae is the fugitive wanted by interpol and iraq, and currently running around Chicago free as a bird. The DNC elites better watch themselves in Chicago, they may end up finding pictures of themselves with an unknown person who turns out to be Alsammarae being used as blackmail to force them to keep breaking their own rules to favor Obama.

Those you see following the Obamessiah are not Democrats, though the species may try to look similar. They are in fact nothing but JACKASSES!

So the corrupt DNC now becomes the CDNC!

Fitting, the added “C” can either stand for Chicago or Corrupt.

Which is irrelevant, since they are synonyms!

Comment by Mary | 2008-06-12 21:47:30

Oh GAWD.

Does this mean his Chicago political machine gets its hands on the DNC’s checking accounts???

Smooth move, Howard.

Comment by vicki cole | 2008-06-12 20:32:20

I read an article earlier about the Obama camp blaming the Republicans for starting this “so called rumor”. Whitey is a Michelle Obama quote if there ever was one. Why would the Republicans have reason to call someone whitey?

Comment by Mary | 2008-06-12 21:51:33

Actually, some of Larry’s Republican friends told him about the tape, laughing and saying they’re “saving” it for October. Probably in Karl Rove’s safe.

Larry wanted to warn the DNC about it, so published the info on this website.

NOW the Obama trolls are trashing Larry for making it up, after the Obama campaign’s attempt to claim Michelle was saying “Why’d he” instead of “Whitey” (thus admitting it exists).

These are Axelrod Chicago techniques.

Man, the Obamabots are BIZARRE.

Comment by WildChild | 2008-06-12 22:03:37

Why’d he….. Whitey…. Who are you going to believe, BOBO or your lying ears?

Comment by ClintonSupporter4ever | 2008-06-12 20:34:40

They sure are saying “from the pulpit” quite clearly and often. In other words, Michelle has said the word whitey and perhaps in a rant, but just not from the pulpit of Trinity.

Comment by WildChild | 2008-06-12 21:26:59

We’ve seen the tapes from the racist church, They don’t speak from a pulpit. They speak from a rather wide stage. Saying MOMO never said it from the pulpit is how BOBO lies and tells the truth at the same time. BOBO has got to go.

Comment by Mary | 2008-06-12 21:52:33

Agree completely.

It’s a Nixonian non-denial denial.

Well , ok.

Except that 2 weeks ago, the Obama campaign was claiming that Michelle said “Why’d he” instead of “Whitey.”

NOW they’re gonna say it doesn’t exist at all, when they already tried to say she was simply misunderstood?

I don’t think so.

There’s REAL trouble in store for Obama. We now have absolute beyond-doubt proof, in the form of a letter from Tony Rezko himself, that Fitzgerald is going after Obama in a big, big way. I have the story up on my site.

Comment by catherine | 2008-06-12 19:33:18

Some facts - next time you lump trolls as obamabot/trons or voters

For 3 yrs (at least), every day possible I popped in to blog when I could at the DNC Open thread.

Participant “regular” bloggers numbered around 35 (I know because I ran local polls and have counted the various IPs MOSTLY to stop double voting)

ANYWAY

my point is that of those Democrats I don’t believe ANY (NOT ONE) of them would BOTHER coming to a blog like this and cause trouble. They might read but probably not post as we do look pretty hostile sometimes (with imo good reason at times)

again

my point is I think MOST of the really nasty “pretend” Obama freaks are really TROLLS of another kind.

I am sure none of those were as VOCAL and PUSHY as I am for sure. They were all mostly pacifists and sanctimonious hypocrites but very harmless! I think I was only ONE of two or three veterans and they were all softer than I.

And I would NEVER go to KOS to pretend chit or cause trouble

I’ve read Michelle’s thesis. It’s FULL of complaining about whitey, and why she avoids them as much as possible.

CNN is so in the tank for this fraud. Some pundit wanted to bring up how Obama criticized Hillary’s involvement with Walmart but Michelle worked for Treehouse which is Walmart’s biggest client and Campbell Brown completely cut her off saying she “did’nt want to talk about Walmart” and then proceeded to discuss with another pundit the “underlying issue of race” in the “attacks” on Michelle. Oh puhleeze! They’re really overplaying the race card and it’s sooooo going to backfire.

Comment by WildChild | 2008-06-12 21:47:06

My guess is it’s the entire forest of logs that is protruding from BOBO and MOMO’s eyeballs that allows them to accuse every one else of being a racist. Back in the nineties a was watching Tony Browns Journal for shit’s and giggles on PBS and he had some Chicago alderman on that was saying if the whites didn’t make good on reparations by the end of the nineties, he was going to rally Blacks to roll burning tires down on the interstate during the morning commute of white motorists. I was sitting there with my moth hanging open after he said it. The black audience was sitting there nodding their heads yes. The black community as a weird thing going in Chicago. It never surprised me when I heard the Wright snippets. It bothers me to no end that BOBO is from that mindset and supports it and considers it family.

Comment by dpvegas | 2008-06-13 04:12:30

What bothers me more about his immersing himself in this is that he’s half white. He’s essentially rejecting himself. Rather than embracing his full heritage, which is being half African and half white American, he made a conscious choice to vilify the latter and try to become one race. I know that biracial kids will sometimes be pressured to make that “choice,” but their reality is that it’s fake. It’s not real. They are both, and nothing can change that.

The Obamabots have no idea what is coming. Our coalition of conservatives and PUMA’s will help John McCain win the presidency in 2008.

We cannot allow left wing activist Supreme Court justices to hijack our democracy. We cannot afford decisions like the restoration of Habeus Corpus to Gitmo detainees. McCain will be as strong in the war on terror as our great president George W. Bush and will work to appoint real constitutionalists like Alito and Scalia.

Hillary ran a fantastic campaign and together, we can elect John McCain the next president of the United States.

Comment by whywhywhy | 2008-06-12 20:11:22

ALL the recent polls say the opposite.

ALL the vested interests and super rich want McCain.

The same goes for the MSM and the pollsters.

Yet, still the polls are as they are.

p.s. America’s biggest “threat” isn’t terrorists, it is China and Russia and the economy.

p.p.s George W. Bush is NOT a great president! lol

Comment by Ivory Bill Woodpecker | 2008-06-12 20:33:28

I agree the Chimperor does not even remotely resemble a great president.

That’s one of the reasons I can’t vote for Obama–he shows the same authoritarian tendencies, the same disrespect for opponents, and the same kind of zombie followers who think he’s a messiah that Dubya Bush shows.

Comment by Mary | 2008-06-12 21:36:28

And Obama doesn’t even have the experience Dubya had as a governor.

There is NO WAY senior citizens will support him.

Comment by WildChild | 2008-06-12 21:50:27

Of course BOBO is experienced. BOBO organized some people in a community somewhere once (yuck yuck yuck)

Comment by Mary | 2008-06-12 22:01:22

Bobo is experienced at playing along with the Chicago political machine, and nothing else.

Comment by WildChild | 2008-06-12 22:14:41

BOBO is a follower expecting us to give him the office of a leader.

Hey, I am worried about this move to Chicago. Is who ever is fronting Obama now in control of the Democratic Party? Will that control remain in “Obama’s” hands even if he loses in November?

So even if we defeat him in November have we still lost? Can Hillary get the nomination away from them in 2012? By then how many Senators and Representatives will they control? Maybe Obama is collateral damage.

We do need to start another party and leave this one in the dust.

Comment by NeverObama | 2008-06-12 20:53:15

“We do need to start another party and leave this one in the dust.”

Absolutely, Betty!

However, we need to also destroy this back-stabbing one that we have previously supported with much time and money.

It needs to implode, starting with Dean, Brazille, and MoveOn!

Comment by WildChild | 2008-06-12 21:51:26

Defeat BOBO and we can have our party back.

Comment by jangles | 2008-06-12 20:32:32

I think it was predictable that Obama would get a boost in the polls (as would Hillary) when the presumptive nominee status was confirmed. The question will be whether that bump will last through the summer and fall. Typically, Democrats have led the Republican and then the Republican bounce comes at the end. We have a long way to go. But I would say to the Republicans and to McCain that they should not underestimate Obama. Despite all his baggage the Republican baggage in the mindset of most Americans is still advantage Democrat. Even though I have been and continue to be an HRC supporter and will not vote for Obama, I recognize that Obama and his minions are more than willing to play a brand of politics that would probably teach Karl Rove a few tricks. Even with a “whitey” tape and a bomb from the Rezko trial fallout Obama has reached a position where he is incredibly dangerous and just may pull off the biggest political coup of American history. It is very frightening.

Comment by NeverObama | 2008-06-12 21:03:56

If Hillary Democrats remember the travesty, do not forgive the perpetrators, and remain steadfast, Obama cannot win.

I do, I won’t and I will!

Comment by Mary | 2008-06-12 22:05:12

The truth is, his boost of 7 points should be even BIGGER, given that this was supposed to be the Democrats’ year.

That it is so small should be worrisome to the DNC.

Comment by WildChild | 2008-06-12 22:19:49

It wasn’t so much of a bump as a belch

ALERT: After reading Larry’s column go to Hillary Clinton Forum…put it in search engine and you will find it. I don’t know web address……DID YOU KNOW OBAMA IS MOVING DNC TO CHICAGO? OBAMA IS SUPPOSEDLY SHOWING CERTIFCATION OF BIRTH, IT IS DIFFERENT FROM A BIRTH CERTIFICATE. I can;t write everything that is there, for some reason they have locked me out so I can’t post but someone needs to go there and tell about Larry’s site and also http://www.hcsfjm.com…Hillary Clinton Supporters For John McCain. One of the threads read, Are we alone….there is alot of stuff on the site. Also tell them about GREEN RAIN FOR JOHN MCCAIN…project just starting on http://www.hcsfjm.com….Also has info about webcast McCain is doing on the 14th of June. One more thing..pass on the site…www.obamajews.com…..is the Jewish people NOT voting for Obama.

Comment by open mind | 2008-06-12 20:58:14

http://www.obamajews.com is a front for a McCain website. And if Hillary get the nomination it will still be a front for a McCain website. It is a link to the neocons. It is a disgusting smear site. I am a Jew and I find it offensive.

If Hillary gets the nomination it won’t matter who it is a front for.

Hillary has never had to sweat the Jewish vote, they know her stance. She got and would get their votes.

The Jewish community as a whole is like the rest of us, do not trust the unknown.

Comment by JD | 2008-07-29 00:22:42

FYI
Obamajews.com is a well researched site and in no way connected with McCain! It is compiled by professors and researchers who have the facts straight. I checked!! Jews better get their act together - we managed to help elect Hitler in Germany by being socialist democrats. If the facts are offensive then take a good look at BHO. The truth and nothing but the truth on that site! Keep McCain out of the mix - I saw no reference to him on the site.

Nope!

May his punishment be relentless and harsh!

Mr BO is beginning to show an unquenchable thirst for power…well, i suppose daytime talk show high priestess, miss O, can report live from the scene now.

Millions of us would love to know when in the history of campaigns someone running for the nomination/presidency was ever treated in the manner Senator Clinton has been treated thus far? Even Mr. Dean with a paltry 5.7% of the vote showed up on the convention floor in the last nomination cycle. He did not hand over his 103 delegates until the first day of the convention:

http://www.thegreenpapers.com/P04/D.phtml

Putting the mute button on voters does not bode well for August or November.

Comment by Marty | 2008-06-12 20:54:00

So losing is equivalent to being badly treated? I see. It all makes sense now.
A little quote for you, from electoral-vote.com (12th June entry).

There are more female voters than male voters and some of them are angry about Hillary Clinton losing, although it is hard for them to blame Obama. All he did was get more delegates. He wasn’t really nasty to her, although some other people were.

Just thought I’d share it as this was a favourite website here a few weeks ago amongst those trying to prove the country loved Hillary more.

Comment by WildChild | 2008-06-12 21:58:50

Right, some other people that work for BOBO… support BOBO. It’s really funny that the BOBOweenies have been conned by into believing that BOBO sending his henchmen out to do his dirty work for him makes BOBO Above the fray.

Comment by jc | 2008-06-12 21:05:55

What an idiot. You quote someone who says people won’t vote for a candidate because they are black, but then say they are not racists. Also, your basic claim about Obama’ electoral problem runs counter to what we actually see happening. I guess you haven’t seen the polls that have Obama ahead in PA an OH. If I were you I would stick to your vague conspiracy theories and claims about secret videos. It is much harder to contradict.

Comment by HRocks | 2008-06-12 22:11:00

Comment by Mary | 2008-06-12 22:25:13

In his 2006 tax return, Obama & Michelle tried to claim and deduct a $13,000 donation to the Congressional Black Caucus as a “charitable contribution. ”

Any moron knows that political contributions are NOT charitable deductions.

The Obamas had to file an amended return to correct that error.

We also found out on that return that Michelle had a full-time housekeeper/nanny.

An Hispanic woman who they only paid $6,000 for the entire year.

I’m guessing they couldn’t find a Black woman who would do that work for such a crappy salary.

That was the same year Michelle complained about how hard they had it, trying to find the extra $10,000 for her daughters’ dance lessons and school activities.

And, of course, Michelle had to have a mink coat to fit into the “proper” Chicago society.

This is the first time I am posting a comment on this “conservative” site. Let me introduce myself: I am an educated white female of European origin( I know 5 languages)I bet you all guys know only one language English and haven’t traveled further than your own state. After I read all your comments I was shocked with the hatred and bad language most of you all use. Is this the real America- the great country where all people are equal, that you all claim to be proud of ???!!! I could not believe my eyes what I read.
And no doubt you all sit in churches on Sundays and with all that hatred to each other in your hearts? Are these the GOP values? Only truly unhappy person can be so full of hatred of somebody who happens to have a different opinion on certain issues.
I feel really sorry for you guys, you must be miserable and you look really idiotic and funny with the type or comments you write.

Every nation deserves the leaders they elect. Russia deserves theirs, Iran theirs,USA deserves theirs. The leader reflects the mentality of the nation. what a shame.
And yes I am a proud Obama supporter. Senator Obama has high class, looks presidential at all times is extremely intelligent and smart and can you know talk. Something I missed in the White House for the last 8 years. I can hardly wait for the debates. See you all in November:)

PS Don’t bother with reply to my comment I certainly won’t waste my precious time reading them.

Comment by WildChild | 2008-06-12 22:25:09

Russia and Iran don’t elect their leaders…

Comment by felix polanski | 2008-06-13 13:34:13

While there’s certainly reason to think that Russia and Iran don’t have free and fair elections, they do in fact have elections. It only shows ignorance to suggest they don’t. Iran does however have a religious ’supreme leader’ who can and does make final decisions or influence major policy but Iran also has an elected President in Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (for now anyway).

Comment by M | 2008-06-13 07:03:37

The generous media coverage on Obama still hasn’t stopped…

I agree its been kinder to him than it was to Hillary, but they’ve still attacked him when need be. If they were as generous as people here are suggesting, they would have swept the Wright affair under the carpet. I think Mccain actually gets more favourable press coverage than either Obama or Hillary and by quite some distance.

Once a Muslim, always a Muslim!

If you keep repeating that over and over every single day, it just might come true!
