Michelle Obama Off Tape

by Bud White and Medusa

I will “use all of my present and future resources to benefit [the Black]community first and foremost

Regardless of the circumstances underwhich I interact with whites…it often seems as if, to them, I will always be black first

there is a distinctive Black culture different from White culture.

[A] Black person may have all White friends and prefer these friends and their activities to those with Blacks without the individual believing that he/she is White

Are these the long-awaited excerpts from Michelle Obama’s “whitey” rant? No, these gems of racial “tolerance” come from her Princeton thesis. As the Obama campaign unleashes its Orcs to stifle dissent and cover-up Michelle’s greatest hits, we believe an analysis of Michelle Obama’s public statements and writings offer plenty of material to understand her views on race, with or without the audio tape.

Like archaeologists uncovering artifacts to decipher a culture, we view Michelle’s extant words as a crystallization of a worldview which can be examined to understand her views on race in America. Michelle Obama wrote the quotes above in her Princeton thesis on race and in it acknowledges that that she is influenced by and utilizes the definition of black “separationism” offered by Stokely Carmichael and Charles Hamilton in their 1967 screed Black Power: The Politics of Liberation in America. She writes:Stokely Carmichael guided Michelle Obama’s thesis on race? This is very important. Carmichael was not a mainstream academic source in his times. He was not the Henry Louis Gates, Jr. of the 1960s, writing scholarly, brilliant works on black America. In fact, Carmichael, the Honorary Prime Minister of the Black Panther Party, espoused a violent black separatist philosophy which was diametrically opposed to Dr. King’s and the Civil Rights Movement’s struggle for integration and equality.

In his 1966 article entitled What We Want, in the New York Review of Books, Stokely Carmichael wrote, “about plots to ‘get Whitey‘” saying that “Black people don’t want to ‘get whitey,’” and in a 1969 article entitled Toward Black Liberation, Carmichael talks about racial incidents as “Git Whitey” “sensationalism.” Christopher Hitchens writes:

I remember poor Stokely Carmichael quite well. After a hideous series of political and personal fiascos, he fled to Africa, renamed himself Kwame Toure after two of West Africa’s most repellently failed dictators, and then came briefly back to the United States before electing to die in exile. I last saw him as the warm-up speaker for Louis Farrakhan in Madison Square Garden in 1985, on the evening when Farrakhan made himself famous by warning Jews, “You can’t say ‘Never Again’ to God, because when he puts you in the ovens, you’re there forever.”

Consider for a moment that Michelle Obama built her thesis on the philosophy of a man who believed that “Before a group can enter the open society, it must first close ranks.”

Next consider her statement that she will “use all of my present and future resources to benefit [the Black] community first and foremost.” [Emphasis added]

Lastly, remember that the Obamas spent 20 years as active students of Jeremiah Wright’s odious racist rants. Think about that in mathematical terms. If they attended church for two hours weekly, that’s 2,000 hours of Jeremiah Wright, or one full year of working at a job 40 hours a week. That’s a lot of “United States of KKK-A.” The Obamas were, until recently, members of a church which describes itself in explicitly racial language:

We are a congregation which is Unashamedly Black and Unapologetically Christian… Our roots in the Black religious experience and tradition are deep, lasting and permanent. We are an African people, and remain “true to our native land,” the mother continent, the cradle of civilization. [emphasis added]

In other words, the Obamas were active participants in a black separatist church, a church which explicitly emphasized skin color over salvation, heritage over faith, one group of people instead of the universality of spiritual needs. The ideology espoused from this church may sound innocuous to Obama’s supporters. But it’s an important question, in a diverse nation of 300 million. Do we want a couple in the White House whose stated influences include Stokely Carmichael and Jeremiah Wright instead of Martin Luther King? Or someone who said:

For the first time in my adult life, I am proud of my country

Really, Michelle? Is it because Barack is so wonderful that only now you’re proud of your country or is there another reason you’re proud for the first time? Please tell us the reason. Or as Christopher Hitchens asks about Obama:

If there is a reason why the potential nominee has been keeping what he himself now admits to be very bad company—and if the rest of his character seems to make this improbable—then either he is hiding something and/or it is legitimate to ask him about his partner.

This is why I will consider the rumor of the infamous tape as a smear until it is released. There is plenty of info on Michelle Obama and her beliefs already. So to followers of Obama, I concede. The so-called ‘whitey’ tape is a smear and will do harm to Hillary and McCain if it turns out not to be true. But if it is true and is released well, then let’s talk.

Comment by karen for Clinton | 2008-06-13 10:50:12

Why in the world would it harm Hillary or McCain?

If/when this tape is released it will cause great harm to ob’s run for the highest office in the land.
Rightfully so. Not only does it mesh with what MO has said all along but Ob’s denial of it existing will cause his already enormous credibility problem to become the fairy dust it actually should be.

If this tape turns out to be nothing more than smear it will only hurt those who started the rumor if we ever even find out who they are.

Hillary or Mac aren’t responsible for what their supporters say.

Larry would gain credibility if it is true and would lose some crediblity for passing on things from sources he deemed reliable.

Like I’ve said a dozen times, to me the tape isn’t going to sway me one way or the other. The truth or lie of the tape is not important for me.

Comment by Clydesloppers | 2008-06-13 10:57:21

You are right but as you probably know already supporters of Obama are trying to tie this to McCain and Hillary. I do believe Larry is speaking the truth about the folks he trusts who are informing him of the tape’s existence.

Comment by grtphoto | 2008-06-13 11:26:07

they always try to blame everything on someone else, IT IS WHAT THEY DO. No accoutability. Why all the defenses out there saying “no, she didn’t say whitey she said ‘why’d he’”. Pathetic. Who says they even deserve the benefit of the doubt anyway, isn’t this “presidential” politics, anything goes, get out of the kitchen…if they cannot handle it simply step out of the way and let the real adults run the show.

Comment by wtf | 2008-06-13 12:17:57

” Michelle Obama does not look into a crowd and see Americans. She sees black people and white people eternally conflicted with one another.

That is a very divisive view for a potential first lady that would do untold damage to race relations in this country in a Barack Obama administration. Michelle Obama’s intellectually refined racism should give all Americans pause for deep concern. “

I have no idea what Larry Sinclair may or may not produce at his press conference next week, BUT what I find interesting is that the venue has been expanded by 4 times it’s original size!

Apparently there is greatly increased interest from foreign media outlets and this is one of the reasons for the venue being expanded to 4 times it’s original size.

There are UNCONFIRMED rumors that Rev. Wright and Manning will be speaking also, that could be interesting to be sure. The gift that keeps on giving taking another kick at the can, oh please let that be true, lol.

Hillary supporters, especially women, have expected the backlash if Obama looses the GE. They will blame someone, and it will be women., black, brown, and white. I am not a proponent of voting for McCain, but I will not waiver in supporting Hillary.

It is really hard to be a “good loser” when someone gets 18 million votes. Such a “loss” actually makes one feel like a “winner”.

It is not Hillary’s job to get her faithful to “endorse” Obama. It is his job, and it appears that he does not intend to put this on his action item agenda. Putting her in such a position is sexist within itself.

The backlash will come. We are just seeing the preface of the history books coming our way. Best to fight backlash with foreshadowing.

Comment by Uppity Woman | 2008-06-13 12:46:45

I wouldn’t regard it as backlash. I would regard it as “taking the credit”. And if they want to treat us worse, well there’s always another election.

Comment by gay gal | 2008-06-13 12:52:08

Yes, I agree. We can “take the credit” for getting her in office, before the backlash ensues.

Comment by wtf | 2008-06-13 13:36:35

Yes, we shouldn’t waiver in support of Hillary. It doesn’t matter that she lost the nomination, let’s keep supporting her instead of uniting the party as she is asking us to do. Lets keep being petty sore losers and help McCain win the general.

I mean she did win the popular vote (well if you don’t count states that count and count states that she said shouldn’t count). It doesn’t matter that the Democratic Primary isn’t determined by popular vote but by delegate count. Let’s keep trying to change the rules. I mean after all isn’t that Obama’s slogan, “Change”? Isn’t he implying by that that we should try to change the rules every chance we get. After all we couldn’t win by

Let’s do all we can to help Obama lose so the backlash will come and then we can say “I told you so”. So what if our country will be even worse off than it is today, at least we get to say “I told you so”.

Comment by Nicole | 2008-06-13 15:31:17

As far as I’m concerned, What-the-F**k, Hillary won the nomination with the popular vote, and the electoral college vote–she would have had the delegates, and the superdelegates if the primary had been done in a fair way (not disenfranchising FL & MI while ignoring the other states that broke the rules…and allowing for the ridiculous–utterly stupid–caucauses in states that will vote for McCain).

It’s so easy to despise and loathe Obama’s campaign, his supporters, and the DNC for making this primary a travesty. Obama deserves to lose, and lose big-time for that reason alone, but also because he’s completely unprepared and unsuited for the WH, and because neither he nor his wife can truly represent all Americans.

Comment by Skilcraft59 | 2008-06-14 08:36:25

I saw this on a protester’s sign about GB but I think it will work for you. It said “Like a rock but Dumber”. This seems to describe your knowledge of the election process in America. Before you make a statement google your sources better. The Electoral College is for the Nov. election not the selection of a person. All you closet racists need to get over it. Your person lost and ours won. The only travesty is how bitter HRC supporters are about the lost. Never cut off your nose to spite your face is a good saying for what all you want to do in Nov. Look at this election for what it can do for our country. We have a chance to get us back on the right track again. Please don’t throw it all away because your candidate lost. And second the entirety of the democratic party is looking to gooper operatives as the source of this smear. I have not seen one word anywhere from a person suspicious of Clinton involvement.
As to the truth and Larry. If there was a tape, a DVD, a charcoal sketch of this I think a desperate GOP would be blaring it on every outlet in the country.

I will “use all of my present and future
resources to benefit [the Black]community
first and foremost – Michelle Obama

How dare Obama call ANY white a racist after the above garbage from his wife Michelle Obama. I’m outraged that a black can be so obviously racist yet it’s ok.

Blacks know full well they can be racist to a greater degree than any other race and Michelle Obama has given them even more empowerment to do such with her comments (above).

If Obama had been any race other than black he would not have gotten away (so far)with the things of his past and present. When he does get called out on an issue his Obamabots buffer him , like lemmings they merge.

By doing this buffer scenario Obama himself has given his flock a sense of being, a purpose, a false purpose of course but the lemmings don’t care, they are deceived into thinking their purpose is noble. When Obama is done with them, then they get tossed under the bus.

It’s a sad commentary indeed when the lemmings converge for a false prophet of HOPE, lol.

Comment by lemming | 2008-06-13 13:09:25

There is nothing racist about any of the comments attributed to Michelle Obama and you have NO idea what she was talking about without reading her thesis or at least a few paragraphs of her thesis.

There is a black community and she has every right to support it. That does not mean she would not support the greater community. In fact, since the black community is a subset of the larger community she is helping both.

Has anyone noticed the parenthesis around the word (black)? That means it’s implied and she didn’t say it.

Do you know what an ellipsis is? (…) That means the quote has a big missing piece of text.

Do you know what a thesis is?

STOP trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill. This is such obvious BS. People should mistrust bloggers and pundits who deliberately mislead them instead of thinking, “Ya. That’s what I wanted to hear along.”

By the way, when did Senator Obama ever call anyone a racist?

Comment by beebop | 2008-06-13 13:15:03

If her thesis wasn’t under lock and key, there would be no parsing of it. If she’s/he’s not concerned about the content, why the big hushhush … you see? You logic is just not working here.

Perhaps you never wrote an analytical paper and don’t get what she’s doing. You could use Hitler’s definition of Nazism in a paper to, you know, define and delineate Nazism. It would not mean you agree with it.

If the tape turns out to be true, which I think it is very likely, then we will not talk we will demand she be burned at the stake and we will run Obama out of the country.

Frankly, if someone doesn’t release that video immediately, I would hope NO ONE would ever mention it again. It’s looking like a bad joke right now.

One more article on “does the tape exist” and not a soul will care if it is ever released. It’s reached “chicken little” status and the sky is NOT falling.

Amen. She knew and was guided by someone who at times used the term whitey. This is a story? Where’s the tape? Not one person has come forward to say they heard this tape. All we hear is that someone spoke to someone who was told that they know someone that heard the tape. What a crock.

I have PhD too and I know that Michelle Obama had a wide range of people to choose from for her thesis. Of the three she chose, Stokely Carmichael is one.

What Carmichael said isn’t shocking, in it’s context of Black Separatism.

What’s shocking is that some idiots think it would be nifty to have a racist First Lady whose world view includes the extreme racism of Carmichael, Farrakhan, Wright as well as her own clear distrust and dislike of White people.

Comment by destardi | 2008-06-13 11:00:19

The thing that bothers me most, is that this would be dismissed as “racism” for even delving into the subject.

Do you think you could sit in a church for 20 years hearing this theology. I just have a problem with someone absorbing this crap for 20 years. Whether it was for political gain or because of identification. I want to see the defense of Black Liberation Marxist Theology on that bogus website up from his campaign.

The leading theorist and “father” of Black Liberation Theology is James Cone. Overtly racist, Cone’s writings posit a black Jesus who leads African-Americans as the “chosen people.” In Cone’s cosmology, whites are “the devil,” and “all white men are responsible for white oppression.” Cone makes this point without ambiguity: “This country was founded for whites and everything that has happened in it has emerged from the white perspective,” Cone has written. “What we need is the destruction of whiteness, which is the source of human misery in the world.”
If whiteness stands for all that is evil, blackness symbolizes all that is good. “Black theology,” says Cone, “refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community … Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love.”

How much more do we need to see from the people before the media and the country as a whole “get it”. They are racists and embrace the marxist theology of Black Liberation Theology.

JUST SAY NO TO BLACK LIBERATION MARXIST THEOLOGY

NO OBAMA/MARXIST

MCCAIN 2008 or until Hillary rises

Comment by grtphoto | 2008-06-13 11:33:17

I fear that we will see a lot more, I don’t think MSM has the balls to rail against this. It will be viewed as racist. I also want to know what all of this “theology” means, can I create my own theology as well? What type of govt. is he going to bring to this country with this mindset? These are valid questions.

Comment by Hope Floats | 2008-06-13 11:44:12

Very valid question.

Comment by workingclass artist | 2008-06-13 12:00:11

You can start by reading about the Parent Philosophy at the Catholic Encyclopedia under Liberation Theology. ( it’s not like Cone was original )
Liberation Theology is seductive because it makes Marxism attractive to those repelled by Marxist Atheism.
Liberation Theology = Marxism wrapped in the Baby Jesus.
Black Liberation Theology adds the crucial elements of Black Separatism and redefines the Marxist Class struggle as a racial one.

BLACK LIBERATION THEOLOGY IS THE FASCIST CHILD OF THE MARXIST PARENT…LIBERATION THEOLOGY.
Theocracy is another form of Authoritarian ( tyranny ) Government.
The reason we have a separation of Church and State in our constitution is that this was written in reaction to both religious persecution and a history of Monarchy vs. Theocracy in Europe.

However, the media has promoted all this. Outside of a couple of reporters they have forced Obama down people’s throats 24/7. McCain is the only chance we have. Or is the fix in?

Comment by Minnow | 2008-06-13 14:10:41

Excellent post – shame on the print media that they have failed to reflect and analyze the ideology of Barack and Michelle Obama.

It is truly incredible that this man is within reach of the most powerful job in the world, and half the people who voted for him are in denial and the remainder haven’t got a clue about who Obama is, or what he really believes in. Frankly, things have gone so far now, that even if the much sought ‘whitey’ tape landed on the news desks of every media organization in America, I seriously doubt that it would receive the attention it would warrant. For whatever reason, the political kingmakers have their hearts set on Obama, the only thing between him and the White House is November – will the people have enough ‘instinct’ to thwart the ambitions of this dangerous couple and avert the crisis ahead?

Obama should defend his wife, say she is NOT a baby mama and then, like Bill Cosby, speak out against the huge rise in unwed mothers in the black community. Obama could make lemonade out of this.

Comment by mahaska | 2008-06-13 11:08:43

Unwed mothers, hell. They don’t get pregnant on their own. When are men going to start being men and own up to their responsibilities?
I watched a court room show one day where a guy was being sued for child support and he was bragging that he has 12 kids by 6 different mothers.

Comment by Clydesloppers | 2008-06-13 11:24:01

Yes, that was a sexist remark. And you are right!

Comment by Hope Floats | 2008-06-13 11:42:25

Yet they want to federally subsidize abortions. Our society has its priorities out of whack.

Reported child abuse has quadrupled since RvW. The second wave feminists thaought more children would feel wanted, but mothers can want their children up until the first time they’re woke up by crying at 3am.

The men, on the other hand, see nothing special about their children and walk away. Our courts do nothing to go after them. It’s all too common to hear of men owing felony amounts of back child support. The women who pursue this are treated as ballbusters and shrews. That’s why I don’t listen to the media when they call women who voted for Hillary “sore losers.” A lot of single mothers are treated the same way.

Comment by Mr.Murder | 2008-06-13 11:53:04

Perhaps women felt more empowered to report abuse after RVW, you act like the abuse increased, most studies prove that society simply ignored or shut women out of justice in those realms….

… that would be an example of the dog’s tail being wagged.

Comment by Hope Floats | 2008-06-13 13:29:37

Women have plenty of reasons not to report abuse now such as our justice system’s weak prosecution of offenses and perps coming back to stalk, rape and kill women. There is still a social stigma when reporting cases. Women are often accused of making things up to get revenge or scam the system. Children can be taken away and miserably placed in fostercare where they will possibly die or fall through the cracks. There are plenty of reasons why a woman would still fea reporting abuse, so I don’t think the numbers can be dismissed. I’m more inclined to believe that human life has been so devalued that it’s led to escalation of hate crimes against women as well as psychological issues for women themselves.

Comment by Acadian | 2008-06-13 12:00:47

That is a post hoc, ergo propter hoc fallacy.

Comment by Hope Floats | 2008-06-13 13:49:22

I would argue that 40% of abortions happen when the man decides he doesn’t want to be a father, and the prevailing logic of men who walk out on their children can say they never wanted a child and it was the woman’s “responsibility” to get an abortion. Fair or unfair?

Vet4Hill is correct that women should be more careful about selecting their partners, but that wisdom comes from maturity. Biology has us hardwired to attempt reproduction as often as possible regardless of consequences.

I am pro-choice, though I am dead set against abortion for myself after having had one already, and it was emotionally painful. I would really not mind seeing Roe v. Wade overturned and giving more power to the states. I think you would see emphasis placed on education and birth control and stricter enforcement of child support laws.

Simply amazing.

Comment by Vet4Hill | 2008-06-13 12:57:14

I believe I watched that court room show too,… But what also pissed me off was WTF is wrong with those “6 different mothers”? They keep having children by men who won’t even consider being fathers or husbands. For God’s sake, the most natural of woman’s rights is to select a man worthy of breeding! These women have no sense of self worth! No wonder so many of them are not impressed with the idea of a woman president.

Comment by yttik | 2008-06-13 11:14:55

You are correct, Obama could have turned this into lemonade if he any integrity and character. But I think his attitude on the subject is obvious, he doesn’t want his girls “punished with a baby” and he lets it stand that “baby mama” is a bad word, a smear. But how misogynistic is that? Yes, it sucks being a single unwed mother, but are they criminals? Should they be shamed and blamed and ostrasized? Did they inpregnante themselves, abandon themselves, force themselves to raise children alone? No, there’s obviously a missing man in the picture. Let’s talk about absent fathers. Let’s talk about their promiscuity, their irresponsibility. Let’s not label the ones stepping up to the plate and sticking around to raise the children.

Once again Obama has given power to a smear, reinforced a steriotype, and let another opportunity to show some character pass him by.

Do they think that the only big words blacks understand are “hoodwinked” and “bamboozled”?
They are both very disrespectful and, IMO, the Obama’s are the ones “bamboozling” the African American voters!

Now it is being directed at McCain. With the ‘lost his bearings’ and ‘confused’ comments coming out of even Kerry’s mouth.

Comment by destardi | 2008-06-13 12:36:19

Look fool…what person in proper company says “baby’s momma” or “baby’s daddy”.

If you are stupid enough to actually put forth the idea that those terms are not recognized instantly by black folk as terminology used by them in pop culture, you really are a compartmentalized authoritarian lefty. No Thanks, I’ve had enough of those under Bush.

Look at you, dummy…arguing over baby daddy and baby’s daddy. Semantics…

Of course she wouldn’t use a derogatory term in introducing Obama, but have you ever heard a white person in politics introduce their spouse in such a manner?

EVER?

NO!

Then yes, I guess michelle and barack are INTENTIONALLY trying to sell their blackness, and make him the “black candidate” marketed towards other blacks.

STOP WITH YOUR BULLSHIT posts excusing it.

Comment by Acadian | 2008-06-13 12:50:03

Of COURSE it’s semantics. It’s semantics because semantics is the study of meaning and because the two things DON’T MEAN THE SAME THING. Fox deliberately used a loaded sexist slur against Michelle Obama and you are defending them whilst simultaneously decrying sexism against Clinton.

How’s that working for you? Sexism against Michelle Obama is okay now?

Comment by destardi | 2008-06-13 12:56:14

BECAUSE you have to take the time to explain a “nuance” between “baby’s daddy” and “baby daddy” translates to…EXACTLY my point.

Black centric terms, whites clueless on the nuance.

Why? Because they’re the same thing.

(Comments wont nest below this level)

Comment by Acadian | 2008-06-13 13:07:13

No, they’re not the same thing. You’re making an excuse so you can make sexist attacks without admitting to it.

You’re doing exactly what you condemned when the target was someone you approved of.

acadian — why is it offensive? I have heard many white girls speak of their baby’s daddy. What are we allowed to say anymore? These two trashy people can make the worst racist statements but Bill Clinton can’t use the word fairytale without being called a racist. Give me a break…..

Comment by Acadian | 2008-06-13 12:51:47

Look up ‘baby-mama’. Tell me that’s NOT offensive. It does NOT mean baby’s mama. It means an unmarried, promiscuous mother.

You live in fantasy land. 9 out of ten Americans who heard the two statements would not see a difference between them. They are just upset for nonsense. They should have brushed it off their shoulders and the bottoms of their shoes … just like they did Hillary.

I’ve been passing on her thesis to friends, family and neighbors and they are shocked. They also wonder why the MSM hasn’t brought it up. These people are the ones you and Barky need to get to, they are the swing voters and they don’t have the luxury of hanging on the web all day long, like well to do educated women and snotty college students being supported by their parents.

Larry’s not making this a black vs white thing. The point is, the Obamas have made this a black vs white thing.

Why is it that asking questions of the Obamas and their beliefs is tantamount to racism? They want to be president, for God’s sake.

The OBAMAS have made it a black-white thing? Are you serious. http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2008/6/13/81559/7111/746/535223

By the way…OK, let’s put aside the fact that his proposed tax cuts for 95% of the country will infuse the economy with cash (trickle up instead of down), here’s a reality check…

In 1992, just before Clinton entered office, the budget deficit was $290 billion, almost 5 percent of GDP. As Bob Woodward recounts in “The Agenda,” Clinton became convinced that to reverse the trend toward ever-increasing deficits, he must forget about the middle-class tax cuts he had promised in his campaign and push Congress to raise taxes. By the last year of his presidency, he had turned the $290 billion deficit into a surplus of $236 billion, the largest in U.S. history. So, who manages the economy better – Republicans or Democrats?

Guess which president since World War II did best on these eight most generally accepted measures of good management of the nation’s economy.

You can choose among six Republicans: Eisenhower, Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bushes I and II; and five Democrats: Truman, Kennedy, Johnson, Carter, and Clinton. (No peeking.)

Which president produced:
• The highest growth in the gross domestic product?
• The highest growth in jobs?
• The biggest increase in personal disposable income after taxes?
• The highest growth in industrial production?
• The highest growth in hourly wages?
• The lowest Misery Index (inflation plus unemployment)?
• The lowest inflation?
• The largest reduction in the deficit?

The answers are: 1. Harry Truman, 2. Bill Clinton, 3. Lyndon Johnson, 4. John F. Kennedy, 5. Johnson, 6. Truman, 7. Truman, 8. Clinton.

If this isn’t enough to destroy the myth that the economy has performed better under Republicans, the stock market has also done better under the Democrats. The Dow Jones Industrial Average during the twentieth century has risen 7.3 percent on average per year under Republican presidents. Under Democrats, it rose 10.3 percent which means investors gained a whopping 41 percent more. And the stock market declined 4 percent, on average, during George W’s first three years. Moreover, since WWII, Democratic presidents have increased the national debt by an average of 3.7% per year and Republican presidents have increased it an average of 9.1%. During the same time period, Democratic presidents produced, on average, an unemployment rate of 4.8%; Republicans, 6.3%.

Here’s what General Wesley Clark says about John McCain today…finally someone said it!!!

“I know he’s trying to get traction by seeking to play to what he thinks is his strong suit of national security,” Clark said of McCain while speaking from his office in Little Rock, Arkansas. “The truth is that, in national security terms, he’s largely untested and untried. He’s never been responsible for policy formulation. He’s never had leadership in a crisis, or in anything larger than his own element on an aircraft carrier or [in managing] his own congressional staff. It’s not clear that this is going to be the strong suit that he thinks it is.”

Aside from seeing firsthand the way he manages money, staff, his thoughtful judgment, his humility and respect for others, his steadiness under pressure, his ability to inspire the country to action, his love of this country, etc. this is what the choice comes down to after all the rhetoric. Period. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fm9rLDU-SiE

Just to put something in perspective about the economy, Bill Clinton achieved his economic successes with a GOP Congress. The Democratic Congress that Clinton had for his first two years were too busy fighting nearly everything Clinton proposed (such as Sam Nunn’s leading opposition to allowing gays to openly serve in the military to Daniel Moynihan and George Mitchell’s opposition to the Clinton healthcare proposal).
Incidentally, I really hate it when people cause me to defend Republicans but when they attempt to bring up economic successes or failures without remembering that there are two branches of government needed for the country’s economic performance.

Yes you experience racism I am sure against you. But I have seen racism within the black community against Asians, Arabs, Indians, Jews as well as whites. And all these groups likewise hold racist attitudes towards other groups. ONLY when Obama or other politicans acknowledge this – that racism is not just something whites have towards blacks, well maybe we will be on the road to discovering that there is only one race, the human race.

Comment by Hope Floats | 2008-06-13 11:32:21

Syracuse University professor Arthur C. Brooks, who also regularly writes op-eds for the WSJ, has a book out that goes through extensive data analysis to demonstrate that values advocated by conservatives — from church attendance and two-parent families to the Protestant work ethic and a distaste for government-funded social services — make conservatives more generous than liberals. Most liberals donate through NGO’s and foundations, but most nonreligious Americans consider their taxes are sufficient and stop there.

This author is impartial, as well. The child of academics, raised in a liberal household and educated in the liberal arts, Brooks has written a book that concludes religious conservatives donate far more money than secular liberals to all sorts of charitable activities, irrespective of income.

Just thought I would point that out. My mother is a Jehovah’s Witness and is a top fundraiser in Cleveland where she heads a philanthropist society. My suspicion about neoconservatism is what Strauss has confirmed; people of faith spend a great deal of time, energy and money on causes. Religion being exploited by the right wing is one of the tragedies of our time, but many of these people think they’re doing right and are generous.

For Obama camp to call the Clintons racist is so bad for the AA community. Think what Bill Clinton did when he left the Whitehouse he has raised millions and millions to fight aids in Africa.

Comment by Crystal M | 2008-06-14 00:53:12

The Clintons are OLDER than the Obamas. The Obamas have only been out of school for 20 years. They only JUST finished paying off their student loans–using the proceeds of Sen. Obama’s book sales.

They also weren’t old enough to do the sort of activism that the Clintons did during the Civil Rights Era.

You cannot compare the contributions of two much older people, who came of age in a socially charged era and went on to hold the highest office in the United States to two much younger, less wealthy people who came of age in the 80s.

Do you people even THINK before your type up this tripe?

In the “Conscious Use of Language” by PHd Cari Spring, theorizes about just that. Terms like “Black Power”, “Black is Beautiful”, “Queer”, or even “Feed two birds with One Scone”, hold the power to evolve consciousness. The user of such language must, however, be conscious of why such terms are spoken. They are of inclusion, not separatism. Everyone can relate to, being, or wanting to be “Beautiful”, “Powerful”, “Queer” (as a term of “free-thinking”). The notion of “Feeding” rather than “killing”, is again language that is conscious of the whole, rather than anthropomorphic sentiment. It is not the theory of “Liberation Theology” that is harmful: we all want to be free. It is irresponsible to not think for ourselves before we accept the metaphors and language that is culturally driven by one group or another.

This paper/statement does not disturb me. It is academic and should be viewed that way. I would have to see the entire paper before making any judgment. And, don’t forget, academic papers are supposed to provoke thought. Also, unless one grew up black in this culture, it is impossible to know what kind of experiences and degradations one must tolerate on a daily basis. The same is true for growing up female. I think there were a lot of people who got to see what it is like to belong to a minority group in this country. It was served up almost nightly throughout the media outlets. A friend of mine wants to run group homes for LGBT youth, but I don’t take that as evidence that she is intolerant of other groups. It’s just too bad that MO didn’t follow through and work to improve the lives of inner city and underprivileged blacks. I believe I saw a quote that they were “the white man’s problem.”

Regardless of the circumstances underwhich I interact with whites…it often seems as if, to them, I will always be black first

That’s far-fetched but not out of line. Shirley Chisolm said her gender was more of an issue than her race, but MO can believe whatever she wants.

there is a distinctive Black culture different from White culture.

I would agree. The majority of black Americans have had a different experience in this country from whites, but someone like BO is removed from that. It was supposed to have been one of his selling points. He would seem less angry, more post-racial and less threatening. Then he went to that church for 20 years and hung out with Ayers and Rezko, etc.

[A] Black person may have all White friends and prefer these friends and their activities to those with Blacks without the individual believing that he/she is White

Sure. It’s a bit defensive, but I’m no proponent of universalism. I think our differences make our culture stronger and more unique.

Overall, none of this is really shocking. I could see her getting caught up in the crowd at that Trinity Women’s Panel and making inflammatory remarks. I don’t know anything about the tape, but these statements bother me less than “Americans are mean” and “never proud before now.”

Comment by Clydesloppers | 2008-06-13 11:16:35

Why would a party put its national (read that again…national) headquarters in Chicago?

Because the Clintons are so strong they had to be eliminated. They had to be taken out and the weapon of choice-RACISM. The call of racism took the african american community away from the clintons and the “white guilt ridden latte liberals. Now the ones that are left who still remember the clintons are being replaced with the young ipod crowd who have no institutional memory of the now defunct democratic party the clintons built back up from the carter years. And the ole democrats that have not been replaced are just deadenders.
The curious obama question is what to do about the hispanics, hmmm!

The MO tape exist. MO likes to talk and pontificate; it appears to be her nature. The tape matters because MO is running barack. MO pushes barack.MO fills the empty suit with her beliefs which are now his.

The repubs are very smart. The dnc moving its headquarters to chicago is the icing on the cake for the repubs. When the tape is disclosed the whole democratic party appartus will be flushed down the tiolet with the obama cabal. All the downticket demos that the obama cabal will/is controling will be sucked down under ther swriling endtrails.
Boy I am glad that is no longer my party!

Comment by ferret | 2008-06-13 11:43:24

There has been so much talk about the tape, I am afraid when it is released its affect, if any, will be diluted.

Remember, a lot of people voted for Bush – twice! Once people become lemmings, words won’t sway them. I think this blog is great – when I was speaking out about Bush, I felt no one was listening. I am heartened there are millions of people who see BO for what he truly is, but what are we going to do about it?

Actions speak louder than words. Are we going to strengthen the Republican party or are we going to start a viable third party? It appears our option to wake up the Democratic Party is gone.
What is our next step?

Comment by Hope Floats | 2008-06-13 11:48:08

It’s nice how you pick and choose quotes from the thesis, taken out of context, in order to portray Michelle Obama as being anti-white.

Nice try but no go!

The real thesis is available and anyone who reads it will understand that it is not an anti-white screed but a sociological study of life at Princeton. Moreover, the thesis’ conclusion is that Michelle writes that she feels more conservative after being at Princeton.

To Phoenix,
It is my opinion that many times people can misplace the difficulties in life as racism or sexism. In truth, life is difficult for everyone, people are mean and insulting, even white males are treated unfairly. The wonder and blessing of living in America is that we all have the opportunity to overcome these setbacks. The people who fail are those who are unwilling to persever. I also join Bill Cosby in the belief that it is black culture which is hindering the black community, not the racism and prejudices of whites/asians/etc.

The Michelle/Barack bad cop/good cop show seems to extend into hobnobbing with the veddy, veddy rich. I found this just now (see below) on Lyn Sweet’s blog but it’s not dated although it’s recent and maybe “Thursday night” refers to last night. My question: How does an individual donor get to contribute $28,500? Isn’t that over the limit?

(begin quote) Obama says “They’re going to try to make me into a scary guy. They’re even trying to make Michelle into a scary person” at Chicago fund-raisers. Pool report. “We’re all Hussein.”

Presumptive Democratic nominee Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) hauled in $1.7 million at a Lincoln Park fund-raiser on Thursday night, the first of two events at private homes in Chicago. Referring to his rumor-fighting drive, Obama said of his rivals: “They’re going to try to make me into a scary guy. They’re even trying to make Michelle into a scary person.”

One guest wrote “Hussein” as his middle name on his nametag as a joke, sort of a try to desensitive people to Obama’s middle name. “They have these wonderful stickers that said, ‘Rick Hussein Fizdale,’” Mr. Obama said. “The theory was, we’re all Hussein.”

Under the new Obama campaign policy of allowing press to cover all fund-raisers–which I had been pushing for–here is the pool report of the funders by Julie Bosman of the New York Times with additional material provided by Abdon Pallasch of the Chicago Sun-Times.

TIME: 6:45pm CT-9:45pm CT

EVENT: Barack Obama Fundraisers in Chicago

*Short addition from Abdon Pallasch, Chicago Sun-Times included on the bottom.*

—–

Senator Barack Obama appeared at back-to-back fundraisers in Chicago Thursday evening.

Venue one was a benefit for the White House Victory Fund, at the home of Sara and James Star in Lincoln Park. The entrance fee: $28,500 a head. Sixty people attended. Total estimated haul: $1.7 million.

Before Mr. Obama arrived, the guests waited on the first floor of the incredibly large and ornate home, eating mini beef tenderloin burgers and drinking white wine and Champagne. Mr. Obama arrived at 6:45, mingled for a while, talked to nearly everyone in the room (by his own estimate) and then moved upstairs to speak in a large, cathedral-ceilinged room decorated with oil paintings and a large bronze sculpture of a crouching insect.

Mr. Obama thanked everyone for their longtime support. “There are people in this room who were with me for my first state Senate race,” he said. “My main job here is to just say thank you.”

There were a few of his most notable friends and fundraisers in the room, including Penny Pritzker and Valerie Jarrett.

Mr. Obama promised that because he was in the company of friends, he would not make a long speech. In the end, he spoke for about 20 minutes, talking about how the country was hungry for change, how he intends to win, how John McCain represents the past and how there are “seismic shifts taking place in the world.”

Mr. Obama talked briefly about tax policy, telling the group that in Mr. McCain’s tax proposals, one-fourth of these new tax cuts would go to people making $2.8 million or more in salary. He wisely did not ask for a show of hands in this $25,000-a-head-crowd to see who makes that much money, as he did earlier in the day at an event in Wisconsin.

At one point, Mr. Obama looked around the room for Rick Fizdale, a contributor who five minutes earlier had quietly slipped outside and left. Mr. Fizdale, a former Leo Burnett executive, had left wearing a homemade nametag bearing the words “Rick Hussein Fizdale.” (Everyone else wore printed nametags.)

“They have these wonderful stickers that said, ‘Rick Hussein Fizdale,’” Mr. Obama said. “The theory was, we’re all Hussein.”

He went on: “But that accurately captures, I think, the strategy. Come on. They’re going to try to make me into a scary guy. They’re even trying to make Michelle into a scary person. Right? And so that drumbeat – we’re not sure if he’s patriotic or not, we’re not sure if he is too black. I don’t know, before I wasn’t black enough. Now he might be too black. We don’t know whether he’s going to socialize – well, who knows what.”

After telling everyone that the race is “three-quarters of the way done,” he finished speaking, and there was coffee, fruit parfait, cheese and crackers.

Venue Two was the home of Leah Missbach Day and F.K. Day in the West Loop, right across the street from Harpo Studios. Most of the guests paid $2,300 each to attend, and roughly 150 people were in attendance. The hosts listed on the invitation were as follows: Tim Blumenthal, John Burke, Patrick Cunnane, Stan Day, Steve Flagg, Chris Fortune, Jeff Frehner, Chris Lambiase, Steve Meineke, Mike Mercuri, Marc Sani, Mike Sinyard, and Mike Van Abel.

The fundraiser was held in a sprawling, two-story loft apartment decorated with an iron-accented, exposed-brick motif that could safely be called Western-rustic-industrial. A pet bird flew freely around the room. The “Yes We Can” video played on a large television screen. Waiters passed hors d’oeuvres – crab salad in pastry, tuna tartare, cheddar puffs – on cedar planks.

Mr. Obama arrived at 8:30 p.m., and was introduced by F.K. Day, the president of World Bicycle Relief, a charity group that promotes sustainable bicycle use. Standing on a slightly raised platform in the corner of the loft, Mr. Obama first acknowledged the obvious: this was a seriously bicycle-friendly crowd. Many of the people in attendance wore large royal-blue bicycle pins. Greg Lemond, the Tour de France winner, was there, along with his wife, Kathy, whom Mr. Obama pointed out in the crowd.

“This was the fittest host committee that has ever organized an Obama event,” Mr. Obama said.

He paused to mention his much-photographed bike ride with one of his daughters last Sunday. “There was no setup,” Mr. Obama promised. “I was not trying to pander to this crowd.”

When one bicycle enthusiast yelled out, “Thanks for wearing a helmet!” Mr. Obama suggested that before donning the helmet, he remembered one of the cardinal rules of politics: never allow yourself to be photographed wearing nerdy headgear.

“I had an internal debate,” he said. “Because I knew that the A.P. was going to take a picture, and they were trying to portray it like Dukakis wearing that tank helmet. But I wanted to make sure that the children who saw that picture knew that even the Democratic nominee for president wears a helmet when he goes biking. (Hearty applause.)

“Now, obviously the rest of my apparel was apparently not up to snuff, because I got a hard time from all sorts of blogs,” he said, “Who said I looked like Urkel.”

After Mr. Obama finished his speech, he took three questions: one on nuclear power, one on his urban agenda, and one on conflict in the Middle East.

Then, after giving thanks to the donors, he shook some hands and posed for pictures.

Julie Bosman, The New York Times

From Abdon Pallasch, Chicago Sun-Times
Among the big-name Obama donors at the fund-raiser at the Lincoln Park home of Jamie and Sara Star were Obama’s national finance chair Penny Pritzker, his Illinois finance co-chairs Jim Crown and John Rogers; Crown’s parents Lester and Renee Crown, developer Neil Bluhm, and ComEd CEO Frank Clark.

So?

Exactly what is so offensive about the assertion that there is a distinct black culture in America? Are you saying that “to them, I will always be black first” is somehow wrong, i.e. that black people DON’T stand out for the color of their skin?

If you ever paid attention during your American history classes, or simply bothered talking to a black person once in a while, you’d realize that black people have earned a little leeway – after a few centuries of slavery, lynchings, firehoses, “driving while black” stops, you name it – to be mistrustful and to say things that would not be acceptable for white people to say. A double standard? Yeah. But it’s a double standard that was created in this country long before Michelle Obama ever entered the scene.

If the black community ever managed to obtain meaningful political or economic power, and abused it against “whitey,” then the rhetoric – real or alleged – coming from people like Michelle Obama or Rev. Wright might be more troubling. But, as of now, it’s just rhetoric – and efforts to equate it to the racism that blacks have experienced are idiotic at best.

Comment by Mandelay | 2008-06-13 11:55:24

If you want to be Mr. & Mrs. POTUS, you’re not “black” first. You don’t put Africa first. You don’t divide city vs. rural. You are American first, last and always. And if that makes you choke, then look for another job.

Comment by Apt604 | 2008-06-13 12:40:38

As far as being “black first,” she was talking about something completely different. She wasn’t saying it as a matter of pride. She was obviously talking about how most people see blacks – as black people first . . . and only then might they think of them as tall, short, Christian, disabled, bald, you name it.

Do you disagree with that?

There really isn’t enough here of this thesis to really make any conclusion. It is often the case of stereotypical rants of of the 60’s whether all blacks are alike or all whites are alike.

Coming from a middle class Italian/Irish background where the entire population was in some way 75 percent Italian , I had my own culture shock when leaving home for the first time to attend a small elite WASPish college. I can only imagine Princeton being a larger cultural version of the college I attended whose student body had a significant representation from the upper class northeast.

Therefore, Michele Obama, being young, could easily see the cultural clash as a black versus white dichotomy. However, has anyone evolved beyond the simplistic? I don’t know. Obviously Rev. Wright has not. Michele Obama’s analogies to the struggling class of “I feel your pain” with regard to her prestigious student loans, private lessons for her daughters as well as struggling to afford a mansion, suggests she has evolved to a place where few of us live regardless of our race.

I really hope you all keep this up–keep throwing mud at the guy’s wife, you’ll only confirm the feelings of those who already hate him and you’ll build sympathy among those who are on the fence.

I read the whole thing a few months back, and apart from wondering how it was accepted as her Princeton undergraduate thesis–her grammar’s bad and her methodology worse–I don’t think this is a big deal. No one’s going to care about something Michelle Obama wrote when she was 21 years old. That’s a looong time ago, and everyone’s entitled to be pretentious and stupid at that age.

Yes. Pathetically so. To me her education is something of a high school freshman truant.

She’s sure good at it. But although I agree I must also point out she’s dangerous. And in that case you’re not allowed anything. And she hasn’t changed a bit – only got more ‘entitlement’ and ‘tude’. Yuck what a horrible person.

Obama: GOP trying to make me and Michelle ’scary’

(CNN) – Barack Obama said Thursday he fully expects Republican’s to play the fear card in the general election, and will attempt to portray both him and his wife Michelle as “scary.”

Speaking at a high-dollar fundraiser in Chicago’s Hyde Park on Thursday evening, the Illinois senator said he thinks he knows what the GOP strategy will be this fall.

“They’re going to try to make me into a scary guy. They’re even trying to make Michelle into a scary person. Right?” Obama said. “And so that drumbeat – ‘we’re not sure if he’s patriotic or not; we’re not sure if he is too black.’

So what? The theme of this paper was ON racial divide. She didn’t randomly bring it up. Jeez, you folks grasp at a lot of straws. She does have a degree in sociology. So, she does speak of :GASP: society. Wow.
When did Michelle graduate? 1985, racism is STILL alive (as you all prove daily) so I am sure princeton wasn’t packed to the gills with AA women.

Oh Christina,

Be careful, kid, you might be challenging them to seek out M.O.’s kindergarten papers. Heck, someone might start the rumor that she was plotting to overthrow the government in preschool. I’ll bet they’ll come up with a rumor that claims she was screaming ‘get whitey’ in utero.

I think this site has earned it’s reputation among credible news sources. Even on CNN, right wingers were distancing themselves from the right wingers here. They wanted to make it clear that it was HILLARY supporters who started that lie. That says something when even right wingers are running from you.

Clinton must be proud to have people like those of you posting here, as supporters, unless she’s hiding and refusing to have her name associated with this site. I think someone should ask her about this site and the people who claim to be spewing racist lies in her name. It’s time for the media to ask her about this. I bet she won’t be standing by all of you, but keep using her name to fuel the ugliness going on here.

No YOU didn’t write a thesis in kindergarten. I’d bet my last dollar you’re not capable of writing one now, either. Michelle is smart enough to have done so. She was clearly capable of writing a thesis, then. She wasn’t ‘handed’ a scholarship to the person above. She EARNED one. What’s the matter? Jealous of the next First Lady? She’s smart, well educated, and a quality human being.

Hey, Larry, you must be laughing that the extremists at this site are spreading some of same nastiness about Michelle that your buddies (and maybe YOU at the time) were spreading about Hillary in 1992. You were still a diehard Republican then, weren’t you? Aren’t they easy to puppet around?

People who cry and whine about sexism in this election call Michelle a bitch. She’s too uppity. She needs to stay in her place. She’s pulling her weak husband’s strings. She’ll be the real seat of power, be careful, he’ll do whatever she tells him to do. Sound familiar?

How much does the RNC pay you people to sling this bull?

No one has answered the question about what Hillary will say when the press starts asking her about this site. You guys keep hiding behind her skirts to explain your racism and crazy attacks against the Obamas. Enough media have read this site to read where the ‘whitey’ lies came from.

You have to know this is going to hit Hillary soon, don’t you?

If the RNC isn’t paying for this site, or openly donating to keep it going, someone from the RNC is egging you guys on. Your strings are showing, RNC puppets.

Oh I know. What gems these people are. See, these are the ones boohooing over Obama’s supporters but they are no better. They sit here calling Michelle and Obama every name in the book.. looking the other way when it comes to smear jobs like this, or better yet, playing along with them. Yet, they cried at how unfair it was when Clinton was getting smeared.

They are also the people who bitch at gas prices, cry about the war, and say they hate biush. then have the balls to turn around and say they will vote for the republican who is on the record as being in agreement with Bush 95% of the time.

In other news, the DNC closed ranks today by moving their primary staff and offices to Chicago.

Most voters can’t wait for the same thing to happen with local government services….

“We Will Kill You”

Friday, June 13, 2008

In the thousands of emails I’ve received in the year that “Corbett” has been on the air, I have not received a single death threat – until yesterday.

“We will kill you when Obama become PRESIDENT OF USA.,” the email reads. “You would see!!!”

Most death threats do not result in death.

But some do.

What makes this threat to kill me all the more mysterious is that it appears to have been sent through Barack Obama’s official campaign website – barackobama.com

I live in NEPA and often catch Steve’s show in the late afternoon in my car. Wow, he’s a progressive and a well liked guy in NEPA. I’m sure that will really win the hearts of Pennsylvanian’s. Steve’s mentioned the deluge of hate mail before.

Few of the Clinton supporters who have had death threats make it public but they have insinuated they get hate mail that is shocking.

The psycho obamanuts also have sent anti-obama crap to delegates etc. pretending to be hateful clinton supporters. They have stooped lower than any group in the history of American politics.

It is clear to anyone who has been around for decades how they represent a whole new vile contagion in the democratic party and it is rampant.

Why any decent person would want to be associated with ob or his sicko thug gang is beyond me.

It is NOT cool – it is hideous and ignorant.

Comment by Sammie | 2008-06-13 12:33:04

I started reading Senator Obama’s first book at the library yesterday (Dreams of my Father), and couldn’t help but notice that he seems very focused on negative interactions between blacks and whites. I’m only a few pages in, but have already been struck by the number of times he’s raised the issue of white racism against blacks. From whites walking their dogs into black neighborhoods to deficate on the sidewalks while he was in college to incidents of racism against blacks witnessed by his grandmother and mother long before he was born, he just seems preoccupied with race and white racism against blacks.

I wouldn’t necessarily hold someone’s college thesis against them, but when you can see an established pattern, where a thesis is followed by 15 plus years of participation in a church that follows black liberation theology, and when you read Obama’s book, it becomes obvious that the Obamas are not post racial. To be honest, I don’t know why anyone should need to see a “whitey” tape. Perhaps Michelle wouldn’t necessarily use that word, and an incriminating tape may not even exist, but based on the information that is already available, both Obamas have enough ties to proponents of black liberation followers for the average person to conclude that it is very likely they hold the same beliefs themselves.

If the Obamas choose to follow the tenets of black liberation theology, that is their choice, and I support their right to do so. However, if that is the case, they need to be upfront about their beliefs with the American public. And, the voters need to decide if they are comfortable electing a candidate who holds those beliefs.

I don’t want to see anyone smeared, but I suspect the Obamas are not being as forthcoming with regard to their beliefs as they should be, and they seem to be hiding behind allegations of smears and racism, whereby anyone who asks a question is labeled as either a smear artist or a racist (or a racist/race baiting smear artist).

Comment by Crystal M | 2008-06-14 01:29:38

Or perhaps those mentions directly relate to Obama’s own struggle to reconcile his blackness with his whiteness??? Racial identity is not not an uncommon thing for biracial people to struggle with. If you read quotes by any well known biracial American (Halle Berry, Wentworth Miller, Mariah Carey–I apologize that I can’t think of any well known biracial Americans who aren’t entertainers), they ALL mention how visible white on black racism was to them.

Contrary to what the commenters of this blog would LIKE to believe, the truth is that white racism towards blacks is a far more prevalent and pervasive issue than “reverse racism”. And that truth is most obvious to those straddling the “racial fence”.

Comment by NeverObama | 2008-06-14 02:37:13

There is no such animal as “reverse racism”!

Racism is racism regardless of who is doing the discriminating. Racism comes from the psyche, not ones race.

Comment by John House | 2008-06-14 02:33:01

Just keep reading. You’ll see Obama smearing his own grandparents and mother: With every act of kindness of his KIND grandfather, Obama sees something suspicious. With every REASONABLE amount of fear he sees in his grandmother, he sees racism. With his own mother, he sees a white woman with a fetish for black men and black culture. The way he writes about them is sad–and dispicable, since they were so kind to him.

Just wait until you get to page 99-100, where he MOCKS the kind of “post-racial” people who’re voting for him now. On page 126 he tells us that his mother told him that Hussein Obama, his grandfather, disapproved of the marriage between Anne and Barack Sr. because he “didn’t want Obama blood sullied by a white woman”. Obama tells us this without addressing his grandfather’s obvious racism, yet later on on page 192 Obama has his own “blue eyed devils” moment where he chastises a female friend of his for wearing blue colored contacts. And then he spends the next few pages bemoaning black self-esteem–ALL because the poor woman just wanted to have some fun with colored contacts.

Does that sound like a post-racial person to you? Sounds like an angry Black Muslim of the NOI-type to me (and he also tells us that he disagrees with the methodology of the Nation of Islam but not the sentiment on page 200.

Michelle’s Thesis is on snopes.com….Michelle Obama has ripped her husbands chance of becoming President right out from under him…Her thesis along with her bigot comments about America being mean in 2008 and this is the first time in her adult life she has been proud of America just seems to be her complete mind set.

Connect her with Farrakan and Farrakan’s mother supports and gives credence to Michelle Obama’s hate and bigotry.

It’s too obvious she is a racist, and a terrorist sympathizer ,and so is her husband. Why Michelle Obama slams whites is beyond comprehension. Michelle got her education attending a great university by way of affirmative action which many Americans can only wish they could have.

Add Michelle’s mean statements to Mr Obama’s Elitist statements plus all the terrorist and convicted fools like Rezko then add Ayers and his mean wife the two great Reverends Wright and Plfedger, Moss then add Meeks and Johnson in the mix America has a lot to look forward to if Barky gets elected.

As of today the Gitmo terrorist according to the damn activist judges all have the same damn rights citizens have…No longer can the military try them. They stand a damn good chance of being released so they can blow the hell out of America again.

If Obama is elected he will appoint the most liberal activist judges he can find to the Supreme court…Yes, America has a lot to look forward to if Barky is elected…

Comment by Ya Down with GOP? (yeah, you know me!) | 2008-06-13 12:54:47

Clarence Thomas benefitted under Affirmative Action, as well. But you know, Tommy, maybe you and Ann Coulter can “perfect” Michelle Obama, along with the Jews that Coulter maligned. Then, after that happens, you can resurrect the same conservative anti-Government militia that bombed the Alfred P. Murrah in Oklahoma City, which had been America’s biggest terrorist incident –and ALL homegrown! you should be so proud — before 2001, when the World Trade Centers were blasted on Bush’s watch.

Obama’s got class. I like how he commiserated with McCain after his preacher choked on his own foot. And let’s not forget your lovely friends, Dobson, Reed (more gambling please), Roberts, Robertson, and the late, great, fate that befell Falwell.

But we could sling crap for hours on this web site. What good would it do?

Clarence Thomas was nominated because little pussy liberals were going to crap their diapers if Bush had nominated any other qualified guy (or woman) who wasn’t black into a vacating black judge’s seat. Thomas was also inexperienced as all Hell, but he was an extreme conservative–yet the lie-berals couldn’t whine much about him because he was black. So what did they do? They trotted Anita Hill out to expose just how shitty a guy Thomas was. Yet he still got confirmed, even after all of that.

Retards like you are the reason why we have such shit for high appointments and good jobs. You’d rather hire a fresh off the boat 14-year-old mongolian no speaky English cheese grater for CEO of a Fortune 500 company than dare hire a white guy with ten years+ business experience experience all for the fucking sake of “diversity”.

WOW. Beyond comprehension? The idea that a black woman might not think so fondly of whites is beyond comprehension???

Let me guess, you’re one of those “racism is over”/”I’m colourblind” people aren’t you?

I don’t believe for one second that Michelle Obama is racist, but even if I did, I would not have the complete and utter willful ignorance to believe that a black woman in America harboring resentment towards whites is “beyond comprehension”.

Please read a history book. Better yet, read an intro to sociology book. I’m going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that reading isn’t beyond your ostensibly puny abilities of comprehension.

I bet most of you don’t even know what a thesis is, what purpose it serves, or the definition of the word context.

Instead of trying find dirt in a document written by someone much smarter than you are who, is like most of us, is no longer the person she was as a young college grad, why not first strive to educate yourselves. Not only will you improve your own lives and perhaps lose some of the anger and envy most of you seem to feel towards the Obamas and their success, you would also then be able to discuss the document without looking like the racist fools you are. Then again, I doubt if there is much Harvard material to be found among the minions that inhabit this piece of cancerous internet drivel that passes for a blog.

I guess that’s why you didn’t address the underlying ideology of Michelle’s own written words.

You’re so smart, you forget that a person’s past predicts their future quite reliably.

And since her membership in a church that also focuses on black liberation theology…is not that far in the past (um, obamabushbot say whaa? only a month ago?)…the line of black separatism is unbroken.

You are either incredibly stupid, or have a bushbot-like devotion to your inadequate candidate (in which case you’re probably just under the influence of authoritarianism).

Those willing to blindly support an individual for POTUS, should at least be willing to accept the fact that there will be people who do not subscribe to the theory of faithfully serving a politician. They will examine and scrutinize, as is their right.

Your obvious objection to a critical examination of the character of those who would occupy the White House only speaks further to the lengths of trampling on the democratic principles of this country that you will go.

Do you fail to see the danger in advocating that people do not ask questions or demand their leaders be not only qualified but of a higher moral standard?

Hurricane Katrina & Issues Facing African Americans

Anyone seen that youtube of Kamau Kambon talking about Katrina after effects in New Orleans?

He starts off sounding perfectly sane and gradually works his way into a hate filled but calmly delivered diatribe calling for blacks to find the final solution to whites to save the planet – by exterminating whites.

The Audience claps for him at the end too.

Whats so insidious is he is a clearly eductated, good looking, articulate middle aged black man with hip dreads that clearly feels the way he does because he has come to a reasoned (in his own mind) conclusion that exterminating whitey is the only solution to the planets problems.

The question we have to ask ourselves is how in this day and age where a whiteman in a sheet would get arrested in public for inciting fear, a black man can sit and spew this type of hatred on C-SPAN and get applauded.

More pressing is the need to discover who is teaching these people that its ok to think this way and why, and how are our children being exp0osed to this.

WHy is there no rational person counterpunching these claims as they are formed so that this militant viewpoint isn’t adopted as a pillar of support for black liberation seperatism.

What makes any person beleive that saying we need to exterminate a race of people off the face of the planet to solve the problem is acceptable?

Even more importantly we must ask ourselves is this where we want our country to go? Is this the type of dialogue on race we are interested in having?

Here is the video:

Its 9 + minutes long and the shocking stuff doesnt happen till late in the video. Yes there is a shorter version that just delivers the Kill Whitey soundbites, but i think its incredibly germaine to present his comments in their entirity so that you can understand how insidious the delivery of hate through intelligent sounding discourse can be. YOu watch the video and you get a much better sense of how insidious it is.

Its not hey you come here lets kill white people.

Most normal rational people would reject that approach.

Thats why its important that when this type of message is deleived that it be delivered in a way that feeds it bit by bit and builds the base for it before it is presented.

To justify saying Kill whitey, you need to lay the groundwork for it first and he does. Shocking.

Watch the whole thing to fully appreciate just how vile and insidious this type of racism really is.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=hyMsKKGgIYg

Now start putting the pieces together: Farrakahn, Wright, Pflegler, Meeks, Hammas, Rezko, Rezkos anti isreali arabic backers, Ayers, Black Liberation Theology, Michelle’s Mean Cuntry, 20+ years of associations and indoctrinations…are you kidding me when you say don’t judge him by his associations?

I really don’t understand Michelle. She always acts like the world is holding her back and she has nothing. She has more education that most Americans. She yanks in six figures that was suddenly doubled when her husband became a senator. Was it their taxes or was it their financial disclosures that showed 4 mil? For Chrissakes what does she want, to be Warren Buffett? Then do his work! Be smart like he is. Take the chances he took. Everybody wants what everybody else has but nobody wants to do their work. I just don’t get it.

But the oddest part is she acts like she’s in poverty. Then she complains to people who are REALLY struggling how hard it is to pay for piano lessons.

The anomoly is that the woman has a chip on her shoulder at the same time she complains.

When she went around the country, campaigning for OB, MO described her very nice, acceptable, and middle-class home in a nice neighborhood as if it were a shack, and recalled her father’s work as a “janitor” – forgetting the fact that he’d moved up in the Chicago political machine, working in a job that paid $42,000/year – 25% more than a teacher’s salary, enough so that her mom was a stay-at-home mom, and enough to buy the lovely home Michelle grew up in. Much nicer than any home I lived in as a kid!

It is a stimulus-response type of brain washing by African Americans where they try to exploit the system for personal gain.

wow…that was slick.

The only thing missing was subliminal images of barefoot pregnant women slaving over hot gridles in the kitchen, 12 year olds working in sweat shops, and internment camps for gays and lesbians.

THe Extreme liberal Left is fighting the battle against the Extreme conservative right.

What both sides dont realize is mainstream america despises both groups.

We don’t want David Duke and We don’t want Michelle Obama.

DJ,

You can take responsibility for putting another Republican in the White House. You and all the other Obama lemmings had a chance to put a competent Dem back in with Sen Clinotn, and you chose to throw it away.

I read part of it at Cody’s Books and was sorely tempted, but $22 for such a short book would’ve strained my allowance for myself; I sure did want it, though. What I read was great. Later I did end up getting Stupid Black Men: How to Play the Race Card and Lose by Larry Elder, Losing the Race: Self-Sabotage in Black America by John McWhorter and The Race Card by Richard Thompson Ford. All three books deal with the kind of bullshit victimology andrace-card playing that Obamarosa (thanks Chelsea Patriot) and the entire Obama campaign are so adept at playing around with. If more liberal retards/Obama progressives would deign to step towards the African American studies section in any bookstore, they’d discover black intellectuals that DON’T subscribe to the victimhood syndrome or that believe that there AREN’T black racists.

Michelle acts like she is in poverty because like all good Marxist/Stalinist’s she is placating to masses she wishes to control and rule over.
Once the Obamavic revolution is complete we can look forward to palaces being built in Honor to our great Leader.
Since they will be taxing and regulating my businesses to death,I’m looking into a new profession of making Bronze statues to the Great One.

They, are going to start by making {Mrs Obama} seem the victim now, by all that say anything negative in the media and online, so when any scandal comes up she will look innocent and her role from now on, in the campaign will be that as wife and mother, she will appear only as a woman who is being unfairly accused as being a divisive person in the hope that other woman will see her as being accused unfairly so they will in-turn vote for her husband {Mr Obama}.

She sounds more like Ayers than a mother. Truth be known she would probabely do the same things Ayers did if she had the intestinel fortitude. She doesn’t have to keep bad company to show her bad character. Her bad character shows she IS the bad company.

Michelle Obama is to be pitied more than hated, for she is so wrapped up in her hatred of whites that she can’t see that she has benefitted from much of what whites have created in this country. It seems that it is okay for her to use us and our institutions, and then to have the shortsighted audacity to slam us, and by extension, those same institutions for being (or having been created by whites) white!
I doubt that she has the sensitivity or the insight to see that she has damaged race relations in ways that others haven’t done in recent memory. As for myself, I’m done with excusing bad behavior on the part of blacks because of their history of ’slavery’. They’ve used up my supply of sympathy and I frankly won’t make allowances for their shortcomings, their feelings of being left behind, and whatever else they can think of to excuse many of their anti-social acts. I’m struggling to pay for the gas to go to my job, buy groceries, pay my health insurance (and the list goes on), and nobody’s giving me a handout, so they can stuff it, as far as I’m concerned and I’m not giving up my place in line to them.

Since they, Barack and Michelle Obama, hate the whites so much why in hell do they want to be president of a nation whoes majority is white? Power over us? Us against them? Michelle will use her present and future resources to benefit the blacks first and foremost. She and he will use their White House influence and powers first and foremost to benefit a particular race, the black race. They will integrate only with the whites when they have the upper hand. They can kiss my white ass.

Stokely Carmichael was banned from return to the country of his birth by that country Prime Minister who was a black man, because of Carmichael radical views.

He is the man who coined the phrase “Black Power” In mid-June, he was to make the statement which gave birth to the concept.

He was addressing a crowd of some 600 as they were preparing for a march in Mississippi. He had just made bail, having been arrested for the 27th time. There was building opposition to the American involvement in the Vietnam war. He said blacks should stay home and fight for black power in Greenwood.

“We want black power,” he shouted five times. “That’s right. That’s what we want. We don’t have to be ashamed of it. We have stayed here, we have begged the president, we have begged the federal government. That’s all we’ve been doing. Begging. It’s time we stand up and take over. From now on, when they ask you what you want, you know what to tell them. What do you want?”

And the crowd shouted back “Black Power.” A whole movement was born there and then. It was a phrase, however, that Dr King was to say days later he was opposed to using, even though he identified with the sentiments which gave rise to it.

My hubby said, the Republicans are in a state of shock. They have SO much to be using and they are trying to decide which to use first. They are so used to having to make up sh!t up, but here , they couldn’t ask for better and it’s all real, on tape and written by their own hand.

What were the Democrats looking at when they chose to push this pair?

What did I say here yesterday? Michelle “My Belle” is a lot of the problem in that “dynamic” duo. A lot of it. She is what they tried to make Hillary out to be for so many years…..

Sugar have you read MO’s graduation rag?

I say “rag” because if that was execptable as a senior thesis, Princeton has lost it’s Ivy league status…

I would have been challenged by my “advisor” to take a MUCH wider view.

Comment by Sugar | 2008-06-13 14:25:33

No Teakwood, I haven’t read it but I have an idea of what’s there. :( As much as she angered me with her statement that AA’s who are not supporting BHO are psychologically damaged from SLAVERY, I feel sad for her sometime too because she is obviously the one suffering from psychological damage. Obviously. People like that never receive the help they need and so long as they are aggressive like she is, they can keep people limited in their attempts to say, “Hey sister, maybe you are off the mark here. You have a lot to be thankful for. Look at what you’ve accomplished and where you are.” Instead, their families and friends just fall in line and do as they are told. She has obviously trained BHO well and now he too thinks as radically as she does. Let’s be real. He didn’t grow up in the same environment as she did. He was trained/taught this shit after he “left home”.

I am wondering what pre-dispositions culturally, ie in Jakarta tagging along with a group of “older” boys who threw him in a “swap”…not fitting in, getting in scrapes, being called names…

Then arriving in Hawai , in that period, and the existing racial divides… Barry would have had his early years re-enforced.

A Black Theology Of Liberation
James H. Cone

Preface to the 1970 Edition

Unfortunately, American white theology has not been involved in the struggle for black liberation. It has been basically a theology of the white oppressor, giving religious sanction to the genocide of Amerindians and the enslavement of Africans. From the very beginning to the present day, American white theological thought has been “patriotic,” either by defining the theological task independently of black suffering (the liberal northern approach) or by defining Christianity as compatible with white racism (the conservative southern approach). In both cases theology becomes a servant of the state, and that can only mean death to blacks. It is little wonder that an increasing number of black religionists are finding it difficult to be black and be identified with traditional theological thought forms.

The appearance of black theology on the American scene then is due primarily to the failure of white religionists to relate the gospel of Jesus to the pain of being black in a white racist society. It arises from the need of blacks to liberate themselves from white oppressors. Black theology is a theology of liberation because it is a theology which arises from an identification with the oppressed blacks of America, seeking to interpret the gospel of Jesus in the light of the black condition. It believes that the liberation of the black community is God’s liberation.

Thank you for finally posting excerpts from Michelle Obama’s own thesis.

For those of us who have read it cover to cover, the “whitey” comment sounds EXACTLY like her, whether the tape exists or not.

I now completely understand why the Obama campaign made every effort to keep her thesis from being published at all.

Black victimhood. Gimme somethin here. Separate from whitey.

It’s all there in her thesis.

Thanks again.

Comment by Nancy Morton | 2008-06-13 15:08:34

In fact, it was not the Obama campaign that kept the thesis from being published, it is a political practice that all material by the candidates and their families are sealed under after the election. However, the Obama campaign had a copy of her thesis published. It can be found on http://www.Snopes.com. as can the information I give above. The excepts you have read were taken out of context which makes all the difference for her purpose. Any one commenting and forming judgments on excepts is making a mistake or worse, using them to further their own agendas and not the truth. McCain’s wife has never published her income and she is not required to for the same reason as I have stated. She is a millionaire heiress and they file separate taxes.
