An Open Letter to Vice President Gore

When so many of us begged you to run for office again this year, you jokingly stated you were a ‘recovering politician.’ Certainly, you have more than earned the right to walk away from what you consider to be a toxic environment. However, much as I appreciate your desire to remain neutral in this nominating contest, as you have sent me a fund raising letter on behalf of the DSCC, I feel I must now question your deafening silence in this most critical of primaries.

You of all people understand what it is like to be the far more qualified candidate and be on the receiving end of ridicule by the drive-by hit squad media. You have rightly stated that television is a one-way medium, not encouraging discourse, critical thought or active participation. This year, we see even more clearly the influence and effect that favoritism of one and vilification and misogyny toward another has on the voting populace, as junk food is fed to a citizenry struggling to make ends meet, at points overwhelmed by their own responsibilities, without time to dig deeper for the truth of the story.

It is both amazing and unconscionable to me that some educated people, possessing a master’s degree no less, actually believe that Senator Obama ‘voted’ against the war. They are clueless to the fact he was not even a U.S. Senator at that time.

Yet, with all of the advantages he had going into this year: the DNC clearly gaming Michigan and Florida in his favor, the media offering pillow fluffing soft stories about him, rather than vetting him, while exaggerating Senator Clinton’s every step to negative effect, he still was not able to close the deal until the Super Delegates raced to forcibly shut down this process.

Senator Clinton won all the large states, save Illinois. She won all the swing states and has the popular vote and electoral map victory in her pocket. She leads in all the crucial demographics we need to win this election in November. Even by Republican standards of winner takes all delegates per the state’s popular vote, she would be our nominee.

The majority of Senator Obama’s pledged delegates were earned back in February, before we knew anything of Wright and Pfleger, Auchi, Ayers, Rezko, Bitter Gate, NAFTA Gate, even Sweetie Gate. Since then, despite the DNC elite riding shotgun for him in every conceivable way, the mainstream media shouting from the rooftops for months that “this contest is over” and his outspending her 4 to 1, Hillary Clinton still managed to finish better than the presumptuous nominee.

What is the explanation, then, for the absolute mugging that took place at the Rules and Credentials Committee Meeting on May 31st? A candidate not only gets delegates apportioned to him when his name was not even on the ballot, but is awarded extra delegates belonging to the other candidate based on faulty exit polling information. Senator Obama is also not penalized any delegates in Florida for breaking his pledge not to advertise there, running $1.3 million worth of ads. An accident, he said. Guess there’s no favoritism there.

It seems the DNC has unanimously adopted the media’s talking points that whatever this newbie Senator from Illinois does is above reproach while every negative tactic in the world is attributed to Hillary Clinton. Please, let’s not pay any attention to the fact that his campaign employed the tactics of race baiting, divisiveness, trashing her record and misrepresenting her policies. He also loudly trashed one of the best administrations we have ever had ˆ and by extension, he also very unfairly trashed you, Mr. Vice President. You were a great part of all of the wonderful achievements of the Clinton years. This was a team effort. Senator Obama kicked your winning team to the curb. He did this without anyone questioning him. Not the media. Not the cowardly and biased Democratic Party leadership.

How can it be that Hillary Clinton, the candidate with the bold, progressive policies and clearly the most qualified of the bunch has also been unceremoniously kicked to the curb? Where are our ethics? Where is our common sense? Where is our love for the working people in this country who would most benefit from the amazing skill set, expertise and compassion she brings to the table?

The Democratic minority in the Florida legislature consented to move up their primaries to obtain a paper voting record. How can you, of all people, not defend their rights to fair reflection and to count every vote and every delegate after you and every citizen in this country suffered through the election of 2000. Imagine if you or any one member of the Senate stood up at that time for the Black Caucus, so that we could have had full recount in Florida. In my estimation, you would have taken your rightful place as the President of this great country and we would have had another eight years of peace and prosperity. Certainly you would never have chosen Bush’s reckless road to ruin.

Whatever mistakes were made about not choosing to have Bill Clinton campaign for you or running on your wonderful record together, well, that is a decision that was yours to make and I have to respect that. While I neither discount nor pretend to understand the ill feelings engendered by, or the motives behind, the depth and breadth of the DNC’s apparent Clinton Derangement Syndrome, I still find the animosity confusing particularly in light of the debacle of the Bush/Cheney years and how these two have so defamed our country and our Constitution without receiving so much as a slap on the wrist.

Surely the Clintons have earned the right to better treatment at the hands of their own party. Surely Hillary Clinton who has worked tirelessly her entire life on behalf of children, women’s rights, veterans, first responders, education and health care, deserves better than the treatment she has received, and should not be forever punished for any personal transgression of her husband. I think she has been punished enough. Wouldn’t you agree?

Now that the principles of fair reflection and democracy have been tossed aside by the DNC, I can no longer be a member of this party and my husband and I have now registered as Independents. We are people of good conscience. We put country before party and as such, can never vote for this dissembling and divisive nominee. We can ill afford another arrogant, inexperienced trainee in the White House. Surely, whatever step you are on in your recovery, you might have taken a moment to stand up against this outrage.

The Presidency is bigger than any one person. It is not about sex, race, or age. We face some of the most serious challenges in our lifetime and cheap talk is not going to get the job done. With the unique perspective you possess, I would have thought you, of all people, would not allow another travesty of wrong, weak or questionable leadership to be foisted upon the American people.

Comment by Clinton Fan | 2008-06-17 20:10:19

I like Al Gore.

I don’t intend to follow him, any more than I intend to follow Jennifer Granholm or Ed Rendell.

What’s he gonna do? He was a party standard bearer. He’d gotta “make the effort.”

Don’t hate Gore for doing what he has to do.

And don’t worry about it so much. Those Obama supporters are the ones who got all the media play at the “Gore” event.

The coverage wasn’t about Gore, it was about those disgusting punks jeering and hooting at Granholm like punk assholes.

I still like Gore, I’m simply going to ignore his suggestion.

Obama does not get my vote.

Comment by ghost2 | 2008-06-18 01:55:53

Thank you.

I still respect Gore too. He had to make a show and he did. I too wish he spoke out earlier about all that the writer talks about.

But seeing that media easily depicts him as crazy when it suits them, … little may have come out of it.

Comment by LSekhmet | 2008-06-18 14:16:52

I believe Obama pressured Gore; that’s why Gore came out now. (If Gore truly believed Obama was best for the country, he’d have come out months ago in Obama’s favor.)

I think Gore wants that environmental cabinet level post — or at least that it be made (if he doesn’t hold it, the fact that it’ll be a cabinet-level position means Gore’s life work meant something — maybe Gore needs that positive affirmation?) — and that’s the leverage Obama has over him.

I know Gore doesn’t care for Hillary Clinton personally at all. However, his wife was friendly toward Mrs. Clinton while Mrs. Clinton was First Lady and Tipper Gore (Al’s wife) also did her level best to help Mrs. Clinton get through that awful mess. She didn’t have to do that, but did it as a woman of good conscience. (God bless her.)

At any rate, I will not vote for Obama and I have done the same thing as Ani did; I walked away from the Democratic Party for the same reasons (they’ve abandoned “fair reflection” and any pretense at democracy in favor of throwing an election in favor of a weak, ineffective, inexperienced candidate for whatever reasons) and am now an Independent.

While I will always respect Al Gore, he is not the keeper of my conscience — or of my vote.

No to Obama.

PUMA!

Good Morning NQ (I’m jumping in)

Gore has proven he is NOTHING more than a flawed human with a NEED for the spotlight and the glory that comes with it from time to time.

He perhaps sees that if he doesn’t endorse BHO and he should by any change WIN…….. he had BETTER have endorsed him or BHO will give him NO DOUGH, NO POSITION OF GLORY, NO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

We already know the RIGHT gives him zero credit and if he’s been watching ANY fox news lately he would feel it was again slanted against DEMS (as usual) and probably believe FOX has lied so often before why believe them now? Right? I mean Bush and Cheney lied ENDLESSLY ON CAMERA and rarely did any dumb ass complicit reporter ever challenge the lies (until lately)

It’s hard to start believing a whole network after they’ve done nothing but lie and slander and support a lying pig of a president for 8 years!

But GORE is wrong this time.
HE is very very wrong.

And two wrongs (obviously) don’t make ANY THING RIGHT CORRECT!

Comment by Johnny at Work | 2008-06-17 09:58:28

Gore sell himself to Obama . I will not vote for McCain , and Latino people see just as we all here, and they will stick with US !!!! Latino people they know, how much black people don t like them, so why vote for someone, who will never full feel His promises to latino people!!!Go to Chicago suburbs and You will see, how poor black people live there, You think that Obama care for US,ate the same time, his own people lives there in deep poverty!!!!

Comment by Clinton Fan | 2008-06-17 20:14:10

I don’t often disagree with you, but I will this time.

Gore’s OK. He’s just doing what a party leader must. They’d call him a cracker asshole if he didn’t.

As I said just above, Gore isn’t the story. That horrible crowd of twenty thousand punks screaming and insulting and booing and jeering Governor Granholm …. that was the story. Obama having to get up and scold them like a bunch of juvenile delinquents…that was the story.

They’re assholes, those Obama Nuts. THAT was the story. And that’s what the media covered.

They hardly mentioned Gore at all.

Comment by MessyMarcy | 2008-06-17 16:57:57

True. We’re now referring to it as “the Party Formerly Known as Democratic.”

Comment by PadrePio | 2008-06-17 13:01:53

OK so Al Gore has a magic wand he’s supposed to wave and make it all better. He is not in control of the DNC, the rule committee, or anything else. He is being a party loyalist like Hillary. gore is not the knight in white amour who is going to save us from the black knight(yes pun intended). Like it or not (and I don’t) Obama is the presumptive nominee and everyone is going to get behind him for now.

Comment by Julie | 2008-06-17 13:39:26

For me, it’s not so much that he endorsed Obama, but that he endorsed him BEFORE the convention! If he had wanted to fall in line and play the good and loyal Democrat, he should have waited until after the convention when Obama was the OFFICIAL nominee. Doing it before hand reeks of pandering and self-interest, not to mention being a slap in the face to Bill Clinton, the guy who chose him for VP.

Comment by Dee Dee | 2008-06-17 13:46:00

The issue is not about being a party loyalist, which I believe is ridiculous because there are people in all parties who couldn’t lead a fish to water, but it is about him being silent when he saw exactly what he had experienced while running for President. Why vote party and not vote for the person and issues that reflect what each voter believes is best for himself/herself, friends, loved ones, this country, and this world???

Comment by No to B.O.= Body Odor & B. Obama | 2008-06-17 16:22:20

Gore has never had much of a backbone – always thinking he’s taking the so-called “moral high ground” – refusing to fight for anything, even democracy. A true elitist who doesn’t like ruffling his tail-feathers – so why am I not surprised he’s endorsing a fellow snob now?

This is why it was HIM who asked all the senators to not sign onto the Black Caucus’ objections for a Fl recount vote, acquiescing to the Supreme Court, which could have been overturned by Congress. It is complicit Democrats like him that have allowed the Republicans to destroy this country and allowed them to walk all over the American people, refusing to hold them accountable for anything. We need a purging in the party, vote out anyone who vehemently supported Obama. They need to go if we are to bring democracy back. Just some names off the top of my head – Kerry, Pelosi, Reid, McCaskill…

Comment by two001snake | 2008-06-24 08:00:11

We all should seriously think about switching to the independent party. Our Country (our soldiers are giving their lives and beening mamed for this Country)demands it and we must show respect and support our military. I have a family of approximately 435+ and the majority has served in the military since WWI to present; and the majority is reregistering as independent we are not going to be loyal to a party that does not (with all their education) open their eyes to the chaos in America and the fact we do not need another puppet in the Whitehouse. God Save this Country and Bless us ALL

“It is both amazing and unconscionable to me that some educated people, possessing a master’s degree no less, actually believe that Senator Obama ‘voted’ against the war. They are clueless to the fact he was not even a U.S. Senator at that time.”

It is equally amazing to me that many educated people sincerely believe Senator Obama is a radical muslim AND Christian AND atheist, three identities which are mutually incompatible.

Further, it is equally amazing to me that anyone could support Senator McCain when he said this about Hillary Clinton’s only daughter:

“Do you know why Chelsea Clinton is so ugly? Because Janet Reno is her father.” –John McCain at a 1998 Republican fundraiser http://www.salon.com/news/1998/06/25newsb.html

To me it does not matter that Hillary Clinton apparently accepted Mr. McCain’s apology for this unspeakable comment, nor does it matter that some democrats once supported the remote possibility that Mr. McCain might be John Kerry’s running mate in 2004. I can’t imagine any parent supporting a man who would say this about his “close friend’s” only daughter who was 18 and very insecure at the time, solely for political gain.

The choices put before the President affect this country and the world. Obama IS NOT up to the challange. Personally I don’t care what decisions he and his wife make about their personal lives. From Anglachel’s Journal @ http://anglachelg.blogspot.com/

“Rendell, who plans to campaign on Obama’s behalf and raise money for him, said tonight’s event in Philadelphia is a joint fundraiser for Obama and the cash-strapped Democratic National Committee.

But in a sign of the urgency to raise campaign cash, Rendell said Obama didn’t want to reschedule tonight’s fundraiser, even though the governor warned him that many Philadelphia donors were headed to the New Jersey shore for the weekend. Rendell said Obama told him: “We don’t need the people. We just need the checks.”

And, I cannot imagine supporting anyone who merely uses his supporters for his own political power.

I wonder if a proven winner – THE ONLY TWO TERM ELECTED DEM PREZ SINCE FDR – Bill Clinton – will “endorse” Obama.

Like Hillary though, Bill has made his feelings about Obama well known. They don’t trust him, and think he’s a fraud. It’s only out of loyalty to “the team” that they would ever come out in support for him.

BO is a dangerous vile man and not good for this country. Hillary is the real winner.

As one who would have been at the head of the line to vote for Mr. Gore had he run, I am deeply disappointed in him. And I told him so, in my reply to the email I received from him after his endorsement of Bambi. His email was, of course, to ask for money. I politely explained that I will not be contributing

That is exactly what happened. The Radical One has gone DOWN 3 percentage points in the past couple of days, leading only by 3 points now. Pretty pathetic showing for “the Democrat’s Year,” I’d say.

Where’s the “bump?”

There’s no one of “prominence” left to come out of the rabbit’s hat for Barry now… so watch “them” numbers sink! Going, going, GONE!

I don’t think it’s reasonable to expect Gore to do anything different. The party is going to line up behind him for Prez minus some earth-shattering event.

There’s a lot of hot air about whitey tapes, falsified birth certificates, whatever. I don’t like Michelle Obama and I don’t doubt she made such statements. I just doubt that anyone has such a tape and hasn’t used it yet.

In any case, I expect that the vast majority of the 18 million Hillary supporters will go to Obama, again barring some earth-shattering event.

I won’t vote for Obama simply because I think Mccain would make a better president, period. I imagine that a lot of would-be Dem voters will do the same. The hardcore party elite like Gore? They’ll always follow the party.

Comment by wac for hillary | 2008-06-17 09:34:33

And I believe that the vast majority of the 18 million voters will tell Obama to take a flying leap. What this shows is that the Democratic Party is no different than the Republican Party leadership-wise. Both are willing to sacrifice the country for the sake of the party. Somebody needs to tell them they have their priorities reversed; it may just be the 18 million who remind the DNC of this.

Comment by researchguy66 | 2008-06-17 09:37:52

Even a small proportion of those 18 million would-be Dem voters could be enough to turn the election.

If Obama scrapes by with one more vote than McCain, the Dem Party will consider everything hunky-dorey.

Comment by kenoshaMarge | 2008-06-17 10:16:17

Seeing as how Al Gore is supposed to be all about the environment how could he possibly endorse the pinhead that thinks nuclear energy is just fine and dandy? Could it be that for all the talk, Al Gore is just another damn politician that puts party before country? Sure looks like it. Guess he doesn’t care much about Democrats disenfranchising voters in 2 states quite as much as he did about Republicans doing it in one.

Here is proof once again that ethics and politics don’t mix. Cause polititcs will always win.

Here’s the letter I sent to Al Gore this morning:

Dear Vice-President Gore,

I have always had the greatest respect for you. I even voted for you 3 times. Twice as VP and once for president.

I have respected and admired your work for our planet. Which leaves me somewhat puzzled about why you would endorse a candidate that believes we can use nuclear power. Do you now believe that nuclear power is all right? Because quite honestly sir, I do not.

I guess in the long run, you are just another politician. Nothing wrong with that I guess. I just thought you had found a voice that encompassed the world, not just the damn party. Sorry that you think that party comes before country.

I guess from now on I’ll save my money and donate only to “real” enviromentalists”. Cause like Religion and Politics, Enrviromentalists and Politicians aren’t a good fit.

Disappointedly yours,

researchguy66 hit it right on the head.

If you stick to blogs like this one, then it probably does seem like the “vast majority” of the 18 million will tell Obama to take a flying leap. But if you look at the larger picture, it’s not happening.

If political science shows us anything about Americans, it’s that we are quick to anger but very slow to change our voting patterns. I’m always on the look out for a revolution, but I’m not longer surprised when the status quo wins yet again.

I think vast majority is optimistic, unless you think 60% is OK.

I pointed this out in the Potomac blow-out. Even there, where she got tromped, 6 out of 10 registered Democrats voted for her.

Nobody paid attention then to that gem of a fact.

The problem Obama and the IIs (that’s insider idiots) face is that the 40% that are exiting are the most reliable Democrats. We show up to vote in off-cycle years when the polls are empty and the best anyone hopes for is a 25%-30% turnout.

That’s who is leaving.

That is not good for the future.

The new registered voters? The majority didn’t bother to vote down-ticket at all. Left the bubbles blank.

That’s bad news.

This election will have long-term effects. Some are good. I do not doubt the smart move to bring in new voters. However, the tactics used were overly brutal, caused a white backlash, split the party, offended too many normal people, and that 40% may never come back.

Very Good Point.

Out here in western VA, in one of the reddest counties in the state, BO beat Clinton by 7%.

It was an open primary.

Can’t imagine where all those votes came from.

And Rush is alive and well, BTW.

Comment by Hope Floats | 2008-06-17 14:00:23

Exit polls said 67% of BO voters were Republicans. He got trounced in SW VA, which is why he went there as soon as he’d declared himself king. He has to win VA, CO, NM and NV. He *hopes* a few of the southern states like GA, MS and LA flips over. Maybe there will be *miracles* in ND, AK, MT, TX and KS. No VA for Obama or any of these states. He jumped the shark. Comment by researchguy66 | 2008-06-17 09:19:02

That statement is constantly misattributed to Gore. On the contrary, Gore was a very vocal proponent for opening up the nascent network that would become the internet to the public.

So while he didn’t invent the internet (or claim to), he certainly was instrumental in making it happen. Obama certainly can’t make any such claims.

I must concur with researchguy66. I was working as a contractor for a government agency in the early ’90s and the one person we had working on web pages was paid out of the Vice President’s office. I always wondered about that and thought that it was strange. And so, when I hear people making fun of Gore about inventing the internet, I always correct them.

But, maybe Gore feels bitter, and endorsing Obama is a great outlet for that. I tend to read the entire reaction by the DNC (or is it the ONC now?) as one great bitterfest against the Clintons. I read it as jealousy. But, don’t people want their lives to improve? Hillary’s fight for the White House has been about improving our lives. Obama’s race has been about beating Hillary, ergo…Obama is for degrading our lives. No thank you. I’ve already experienced eight years of that.

You, of all people, should know better. I viewed your stance after you had the presidency stolen from you as admirable, seeing that you “left” politics and threw yourself into a cause. My respect for you is now gone.

You and your flim-flam candidate, Barak Hussein Obama, will never get a dime of my money and he sure as heck will never get my vote.

Plus, you have seriously damaged your own cause by taking this stance. But oh, I forgot…you can just get money from your true supporters, the young, hip, latte-swilling 20 somethings.

Apparently Mr. Gore agrees with the vast majority of Americans that Hillary Clinton lost fair and square, as hard as that must be for your to accept. Mr. Gore remembers when thousands of Jews voted for Buchanan and when dimpled votes for him did not count. He must empathize with Mr. Obama whose voters were disenfranchised by not even being given the opportunity to vote for him. He must empathize with the “intent to vote” argument.

I was particularly struck by Hillary Clinton’s reaction to learning that untold thousands had crossed party lines to vote for her as part of Rush Limbaugh’s Operation Chaos. In Indiana alone, 7% of the vote is thought to have come from Rush’s mischief makers, Indiana a state she won by 2%.

“Oh, I’ve always know Rush Limbaugh has had a crush on me!” Then she laughed.

However after reading your post I was reminded of the deep wounds from 2000. I never thought it would happen again. But it’s worse this time because it’s a back-stab from inside, from our own “family”, the DNC.

Also point on reminding us why FL had to move up their primary, and Obama removing his name from the ballot in MI. I completely put out of my mind why Hillary’s delegates (thousands of voters BTW) were summarily given over to the usurper — exit polling for crying out loud!

I’ll never get over this travesty of the DNC and your post should be the rallying cry for all PUMAs and any other Denver movements.

Of all people, Gore.

Thanks.

It is simple….. In truth why did people vote for Bush over Gore in 2000? Some say he should have publicly said marriage is between 2 people and it is a personal private relationship not up for public scrutiny. But let us all remember Gore was a born again Christian- his wife burned record albums…..putting their mindset to place judgement of others based on their own personal beliefs……
If he had stood up for Bill Clinton and had campaigned with him he might have won his own state… bad choices made it easier to blame others…maybe he still has hard feelings with the Clintons…. I really thought he had more class than this… I asked him to remove me from his mailing list… I can’t give money to a Party that cannot seem to hear the voices of America.

The people here can’t stand Obama. The county (Luzerne) went like 75-25 for Hillary. A local radio host, Steve Corbett (sp?), is the founder of the “Turn Down Obama” movement that has gotten national attention.

I’m about to start working on another video, and my brother (go to my YouTube site and he’s on there as a person I’m subscribed to, JohnDVillarrealEsq) and I just put up a video last night showing jerkoff Chris Matthews making fun of McCain and his war injuries, essentially.

The site is somewhat in stasis for now but we are going to be cranking out videos to expose Frail Bambi for what he is: A radical, inexperienced, wannabe ‘gangsta’ punk and fraud.

We are going to bury this guy like the Celtics are going to bury punk Kobe and the Fakers tonight.

Peace. Look forward to talking with you again. Spread the videos around. The more people that see them the bigger our victory is going to be and the sooner we can end this Corrupt Chicago Coup nonsense.

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-06-17 10:27:25

Good luck! So many of the videos aren’t fun. Hope yours are home-runs!

Comment by Paul F. Villarreal | 2008-06-17 10:45:49

Thanks :)

Anyone that sees the videos likes them, provided they’re not Kool-Aid losers.

We’ll keep them coming. Stick Man with the Clark Gable Ears is on the run now and we’re going to help make sure he gets beaten in November. The most important thing we can do is destroy his bogus image. That’s what we’ve been working on and there is a lot more to come.

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-06-17 11:12:43

Good, because even I get myself twisted sometimes. I see him and it’s hard to line up that this is the guy who actually bussed in voters to Iowa caucuses. We know that for a fact. Our Univ.ofIowa guy documented it.

That’s so…..well, I came of age in the heyday of Chicago politics and was a precinct captain back then. I was taught how to do small favors and then mark the ballot so that I could “deliver” my precinct.

I believe we call that illegal these days. *haha

But it was incredible to hear he pulled that. That’s bold. That’s ugly. That’s beyond the boundaries of fair politics.

Hitting her on NAFTA….ok, I’ll grumble because it’s dishonest, but that’s within the game rules.

Bussing in Chicagoans to vote in Iowa?

Not cool.

So I do hope you keep on it about the public person versus reality.

That’s what’s needed.

Paul, I used to live in Wilkes-Barre. My mother was born there and for a time when I was young, I lived with my grandparents on Mallery Place (couple blocks from the river). My grandparents home was destroyed in the flood of ‘72. Pennsylvania is a great state and was my home for 40 years (I live near Atlanta now). Great videos. Keep up the good work! Take care.

P.S. I was bummed to hear about the Hotel Sterling.

So many of these democratic elitists (and I’m a life-long democrat) and Hollywood types really look down on America and Americans. Nobel prize-winning Gore sees himself as an internationalist. For these people, OB’s Muslim background is no problem. Barry made a fatal error, however, in trying to cover it up – this lie will bring him down:

Perhaps you should send a copy of this letter to President Carter with a note suggesting he might use his Nobel Peace Prize expertise in fair elections and mediation to move the Democratic Party to conduct a fair convention with no arm-twisting and Hillary on the ballot and nominated from the floor.

PUMA. Party unity is the rallying cry of hypocrites.

Comment by power coast FL dave | 2008-06-17 10:29:25

I have to wonder why too, but I guess it’s human nature, denying what is most obvious.

We look at Hitler, now, and wonder what the otherwise rational Germans could have been thikning, but I guess it’s the same behavioral pattern, deny, rationalize and minimize, no one wanting to admit the truth of Obama, and what happened here.

But it won’t get better until they do, period.

And then clean it up.

Does anyone here REALLY think that Obama would have been a better choice than Gore?

I’m not a huge fan of either, but I don’t think you’ll ever catching Gore hanging out with Bill Ayers.

Comment by UKforDems | 2008-06-17 09:48:52

Although you will find Hillary being very silent about Bill pardoning over a dozen convicted terrorists, including Susan L. Rosenberg, who was found with 740 pounds of dynamite that she admitted was going to be used for political attacks.

If Hillary Clinton is an election winner – why couldn’t she win her own Primary? She lost. Fairly. According to rules her associates set and she agreed to abide by. She is now supporting Obama it is a pity that angry Clinton fans are now following Republican spin and not her lead, when before her word was gospel.

Susan Rosenburg served 16 years in the slammer, and she had letters recommending that she had reformed.

At that time, Ayers and Dohrn had just got off for improper federal wire taps. The judge threw the case out. So, to recap:

Clinton pardoned the WU members who served time. BO partied with the unrepentant terrorist Ayers. They collected development deal bribes through the Woods Fund, and they threw fundraisers for Rashid Khalidi who funneled money to the PLO.

The weren’t 25 people in that room, and I took notes for his campaign. He was very impressive and remained so to me throughout his campaign. I voted for him every change I had.

I wish he had not done this. I think it’s late in the process and beside the point. I’m just hugely disappointed. Hugely disappointed.

Al Gore knows what is at stake. Have you guys seen the latest “I am voting Republican” ad? It’s devastating. It correctly portrays the Republicans as minority hating, women hating, gay hating, environment hating, America hating, Constitution hating, poor people hating, middle class hating, party of big pharma and big oil. You can vote for McCain, which represents all of the above, or you can vote for change, hope, unity, honesty, integrity, judgment, leadership. Al Gore and Hillary Clinton know which candidate they will vote for, you guys should also do the right thing.

Hi Freedom Fighter,

You’re next! Check this out,

“Reports are pouring in from Democratic Party activists and Hillary Clinton supporters all over the country, about an ongoing attempted purge of the Democratic National Committee, state party organizations, and even the Obama campaign itself. It seems that Obama campaign godfather and former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle (D-SD) is running a house-cleaning, that is hopelessly splitting the Democratic Party. One Democratic member of Congress bitterly complained to LPAC representatives, attending the California Democratic Party Executive Board meeting this weekend, that some of Senator Obama’s staunchest supporters among African-American elected officials, are now being isolated from the presumed Democratic nominee, and are even being purged from the campaign organization. “The old Democratic establishment has moved in, and totally taken over.”"

What is so amazing to me is that all these people that professed for years that they will stand up for the truth, that they wanted candidates with impeccable records, no stains or doorways that can be opened to be scrutinized, but yet here they have a nominee with so much baggage and they are coming out and endorsing him, without even batting an eye.

Have they all gone mad, or are all the people on the outside that keep questioning daily things they have concerns with as regards to Obama all nuts? These elected democrats who stand in the house as the bastions of truth and fair play, who daily cry about Republican dealings are now without questions offering us a tainted candidate and beseeching us to get on board.

I cannot understand what am seeing, are they all so caught up in the trappings of office that they will sit like mutes and accept Obama in order to keep their political lives, some of them have become so spineless, they rather give us Obama than not open their eyes and ask or question anything. The people cannot be wrong to question Obama, and person like Gore cannot answer any questions on Obama if he was taken to task to do so, so why go with this man when all indications are that Obama is a disaster waiting to happen.

Seems to me that a lot of democrats care not for this country or its people all they care about is high office and the perks and trapping that go with it, they will sell their souls not to lose that position in life, and accept anything without flinching just to stay in office.

You forgot some things:Obama did not set the rule, and all candidates agreed to them earlier. I am now begining to believe your intentions are not noble!

Comment by WasLNbutNoBamaBotsKeepStealingMyName | 2008-06-17 09:48:34

Ok, so why if BO agreed to the rules, did he not follow them himself when it came to MI. He took his name off the ballot, then wanted the delegates.

Not only did he get them, the DNC then gave him 4 more that he didn’t even win.

Comment by wac for hillary | 2008-06-17 09:57:30

Because Barack knew the everchanging rules only applied to Hillary; the RBC told him so.

Comment by UKforDems | 2008-06-17 10:12:03

Hillary did not take her name off the ballot “by mistake” however she said that the votes of Florida and Michigan would not matter. She lied. Then the RBC, which had a majority of Clinton backers awarded half votes to Florida and Michigan. Despite the fact that the Michigan election was ruled unconstitutional by a Court. The uncommitted voters awarded to Obama were awarded on the basis that anyone who took their time out to vote in an election that did not count as “uncommitted” meant anyone but Hillary.

So tell me, given that this approach was also adopted by Republicans for their Primary how is it unfair to Hillary that the Democrats did it?

The reality is the Clinton Republicans were never Democrats anyway. The Democrats are not losing your support they never had it anyway. Go and cry again when your next chosen one, McSame loses in November. I can not wait for the excuses.

Comment by ulahane | 2008-06-17 10:15:19

As leader of the Democratic Party, I strongly urge you to adhere to the 2008 delegate selection rules. The 2008 Delegate Selection Rules. … The 2008 Delegate Selection Rules adopted by the full DNC at its August 2006 meeting clearly provide that only four states – Iowa, Nevada, New Hampshire,” “South Carolina – may hold their respective contests prior to February 5, ‘08. The Rules and Bylaws Committee’s finding of noncompliance included a 100 percent loss of pledged and unpledged delegates

Clinton Campaign Statement

The following is a statement by Clinton Campaign Manager Patti Solis Doyle.

“We believe Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina play a unique and special role in the nominating process.

And we believe the DNC’s rules and its calendar provide the necessary structure to respect and honor that role.

Thus, we will be signing the pledge to adhere to the DNC approved nominating calendar.”

I am guessing that was a misspeak as well?

The problem is Al Gore was never what his fans thought he was. Al Gore had ulterior motives in mind all along. He, along with Ted Turner, and the National Religious Partnership for the Environment were in cahoots and still are in cahoots to dramatically change the landscape of government and swithc us all over to earth worship.

Al Gore is a false prophet. Remember is shaman beard growth? Hello? Check out the website of the National Religious Partnership for the Environment. Look at the logos that grace the top of it’s page!

http://www.nrpe.org/

That’s Right! The national council of churches of “christ”….Obama’s denomination.

In 1997, Hal Lindsey wrote about Ted Turner’s involvement in this mess. That was long before Al Gore even went on his Global Warming tour. He was suppose to win the election in 2000. He was suppose to usher it all in then. THAT IS WHY he was so outraged over losing that election….not because Floridians lost a vote!!!

Hal Lindsey’s book is The Apocalypse Code, and he talks about Turner on page 209.

Ask yourself why would an Athiest (Turner) who kicked his wife (Fonda) to the curb because she accepted Jesus Christ, have anything whatsoever to do with any christian churches? Ted Turner hates christians.

Al Gore is NOT THE MAN people thought he was. He never had the motives he espoused to everyone. Al Gore’s companies stand to profit from climate change being believed as fact. Whole economies and structures of society would have to be radically changed toward socialism and communism to accomodate the dire predictions he’s made and is making.

He’s A False Prophet!

Wake Up People!

Comment by ulahane | 2008-06-17 09:52:41

Hal Lindsey? Of the “Late Great Planet Earth” fame? He’s about as credible as Pat Robertson.

Comment by DirOfTheObv | 2008-06-17 10:20:45

Don’t use Obamabot reasoning. All of the facts of what I’m posting above are checkable facts. Did Ted tell you Hal was not credible…was it someone with Ted’s basic belief and value system. LOL….You don’t have to believe Hal if you don’t want to. However, Hal is an expert on the subject of prohecy. Bonafide.

Ted Turner does give millions to it and he was doing so before Al Gore lost the election. The climate change movement was there and Al Gore simply moved over to that after he lost the election. There is no doubt in my mind that Al Gore was heading for major policy change toward the “Global Warming World’s Gonna End” mantra, when he instead lost the election.

Comment by DirOfTheObv | 2008-06-17 10:23:19

No he’s (Barack) a “false messiah”. There are two facets. The “false messiah” is not the same as the “false prophet”…they’re seperate.

Comment by nickoury | 2008-06-17 10:06:16

Come on,Lindsey’s on idiot. If any of that is true please attribute it to other, more credible sources. In fact both Gore and Lindsey are dopes. Don’t use one fool to attack another, it doesn’t work.

Comment by DirOfTheObv | 2008-06-17 10:15:00

It is all true. Whether you like Lindsey or not…it is true. Turner gives millions to them to go out and send out stuff to churches to get them involved, etc.

Do you believe your own eyes? How about Robertson and Sharpton sitting on a love seat?

Lindsey is a very authoritative scholar on biblical prophecy. Going way back.

The point of this post is not to get anyone to believe in prophecy…it’s to tell you that Al Gore is not, and never was, what he claimed to be all about. He had an agenda…and when he didn’t win it didn’t unfold. He went into a deep depression it was sad, and he sadly wandered the hallways of airports with his little snake oil salesman black bag….gotta go door to door.

Comment by Tom | 2008-06-17 09:52:09

Ok, you don’t like Obama because he was mean to HRC and won the nomination. Hillary’s moved on and endorsed Obama, and now Gore has. Why? Because they recognize that defeating McCain in November is the Number One Priority. Why you people can’t get this through your head is beyond me.

It’s been pointed out to you again and again that McCain is the polar opposite of all you supposedly hold dear, yet your responses when people point out these facts is to call them “trolls” or worse. I’ve yet to see a factual discussion – free of hyperbole or juvenile insults from the PUMA crowd – as to how they can reconcile the day/night differences between HRC/Obama and McCain and still think that McCain is the better candidate.

I know you’re disappointed that your candidate lost, but she lost because she played the game poorly, not because of some massive conspiracy within the party. It’s time to stop this crap and get on with rebuilding our country after eight years of systematic dismantling of our basic freedoms.

Comment by C.S. | 2008-06-17 10:55:44

Realistically either vote you make is for a selected candidate.

The only true vote you will cast is the one in November and the two political parties have given us McCain and Obama to choose from; neither overly endowed with leadership qualities.

So, those of us who put party before country will vote one way and those of us who put country before party – or even selfish reasons of personal interests – will vote another way. Sure, that makes us all losers but that’s the way it was set up for us.

I don’t have an answer why Gore, betrayed by the political system he wanted to protect and serve, would betray the very people his environmental work is supposed to protect and endorse a candidate without an environmental record.

I guess you can take the politician out of politics but you just can’t take the politics out of a politician….I wonder if he got a good deal this time.

Remember that the next time a political party “robs Peter to [give] to Paul”.

Comment by DirOfTheObv | 2008-06-17 09:57:52

Polar Opposite? I’ve also yet to see you guys prove that to be so. In fact, here’s a post that was very well thought out by a guy named Johnny At Work…I saved it just for people like you:

By JohnnyAtWork – from No Quarter

The problem with Obama is no one knows where he stands on anything. He flip flops so fast, it creates the wind for John Kerry’s flip flopping wind surfing.

Obama belonged to a Church for 20 years but he claims he did not share the church’s values. He belongs to the Democratic Party, how can we know he shares Democratic values?

Obots make the point that Obama is closer on Hillary’s positions than McCain, specifically on, Roe v Wade, Equal Right for Gays, Energy Independence, Iraq, therefore anyone who supported Hillary should support Obama.

Firstly, ALL of those issues are trumped by the fact that an unqualified male was promoted over an extremely qualified female (we are just ending an experience with an unqualified male in the Presidency, we don’t need another). This sets back woman’s issues in the workplace 50 years. When the democratic party promotes unqualified men over extremely qualified women, how can they say they will promote the rights of any minority?

Secondly, McCain IS CLOSER to Hillary on ALL of those issues than is Obama.

1) On Roe v Wade, The Ultra Conservative W. Bush was not able get a majority on the Supreme court that would overturn Roe. McCain is a Moderate who has a track record of opposing his own party and working with Democrats, and will work with them for a fair minded Justice. That is why McCain was John Kerry’s first choice for a running mate in 2004. The conservative justices Roberts, Scalia, Alito, Thomas, and Kennedy are all on record as committed to stare decisis, which precludes overturning previously decided law such as Roe.

2) Obama and the DNC has demonstrated that they are not for equal rights for Women, how can they be for equal rights for gays? Obamas church of 20 years supports the nation of Islam and Louis Farrakhan, which concludes that gays are a product of the Devil. Obama has members of the Nation of Islam on his staff. McCain while opposed to Gay marriage, is for Gay civil Unions, which will give Gays court recognized rights similar to marriage. It is a step in the right direction, that a majority of the US will get behind. The majority of the US will not get behind Gay Marriage, and is a position and issue that will cost the Democrats the election as proven in 2004.

3) McCain IS FOR energy independence, and he can articulate it profoundly better than Obama. McCain has enumerated the strategic and domestic reasons on why the US needs to be energy independent. McCain was the first of a growing number of Republicans and Conservatives who recognize the dangers of global warming. McCain has a plan with tax incentives to develop alternative sources of energy, Wind, Solar, Hydrogen, Ethanol, and to reduce and conserve US energy consumption.

4) Obama himself throughout the campaign shouted that Hillary was closer to McCain on Iraq. And, Obama is all over the map regarding Iraq. He has flip flopped more than the pancakes at a church fundraiser. In 2002 he gave a speech that opposed going to war, in 2004 he said if he had been in the Senate during the vote authorizing the use of force, he probably would have voted for it, in 2006 he said he was never against pulling out the troops and said he was never for a timetable to remove the troops.

Comment by destardi | 2008-06-17 10:00:17

Obama is the polar opposite.

What part of “national leader wannabe” raising “race and ripping fresh wounds” and accusing two of the very best liberals in America in modern times of being racists, do you

NOT F*CKING UNDERSTAND.

Yes, we really need someone who uses one of the most hurtful issues in America as a wedge issue to attract votes.

You consider this a game? I consider this an attempt by an arrogant, corrupt Chicago machine politician to bring all that is bad about our political system into the White House. Put this empty suit in charge or our military, our economic system, our social programs; you have got to be kidding. I will gladly stomach the Republicans for four more years, rather than letting Obama and his handlers destroy what is left of our country. Since the DNC is now just like the RNC, what’s the difference other than a wealth of experience (McCain) versus a know-nothing, do-nothing (Obama).

If you look into the archives of that election you will note that the leadership of both parties didn’t think that an unknown governor from backwoods Arkansas (one of those bitter, bible clinging, low information voter states you guys talk about) stood a chance against Republican George H. W. Bush.

Just like the Democratic party leadership didn’t think that those same bitter, bible clinging, low information voters… and women who didn’t know their place could possibly knock Obama out of the race and upset their apple cart again!

But there she was, setting records again. But this time you were prepared, learned from the good old boys at the GOP; if things don’t go your way just steal it.

And Zee….I believe Al when he says he’s a recovering politician.

He did Obama a favor by opening up in MI, where he’s losing to McCain.

And that’s all he’ll get from Gore. Gore couldn’t care less if he’s on any list for anything other than support for his green stuff.

He did a trade. He’ll be even richer in the end.

If McCain wins? Al will right there speaking about how McCain was a true frontrunner in energy.

I can’t believe that Al Gore would have the nerve to come to MICHIGAN and tell the crowd that elections SHOULD COUNT. Too bad the DNC and the Michigan DEMS don’t agree with Gore though, they made a mockery of a State Certified Primary and gave 45% of the Delegates to Obama, even though he dissed the Michigan Dems by REMOVING his name from the ballot. I guess the Wingnuts that run this Party have no understanding of Democracy and the value of the vote. The Caucus and primary system the DEMS use is completely un-democratic and the value of your vote depends on where you live in a state instead of being equal. Three states had both a caucus and a Primary, instead of using the more Democratic Primary to divide the delegates the DEMS used the caucuses where the Wingnuts rule. I’ve been voting for DEMS for over 35 years, but this Party has lost me, my vote will be going to McCain.

Actually there are a lot of people in Michigan who have lost their jobs as a result of policies championed by Gore and the like …and Gore’s taking the automaker’s to task may not actually sit well with those who’ve lost jobs.

It’s not as simple as all that. It was a risky move to bring him to Michigan. And especially given that Obama is already the presumptuous nominee and really didn’t need another endorsement.

Or did he? It signals stupidity on his part and trouble out there.

An Obama Crowd in Detroit Comes Ready to Boo

By Anne E. Kornblut
DETROIT — Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm received a deafening chorus of boos Monday night at her mention of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, the candidate Granholm once backed for the Democratic presidential nomination.

The jeering from thousands of Obama supporters at Joe Louis Arena came after Granholm acknowledged her support of Clinton, and they seemed to take her aback. “Come on now,” the governor pleaded before finally continuing, “I’m proud to say I’m standing with her and all of you” in supporting Obama.

A few moments later the same fired-up crowd booed former vice president Al Gore when he urged Democrats to be respectful of the likely Republican nominee, Sen. John McCain. “In that case I’m glad I brought it up,” Gore dryly responded.

First of all WOW! what a great piece. I too stood dumbfounded while Gore put his support behind Obama. It seems contrary to anything just. It doesn’t even make sense. Considering what Gore wrote in his last book, it would seem that the only logical person for him to back was Hillary. After all, it was the television that Gore rightly condemned that made Obama the rock star candidate. Instead, it was Hillary that reached out to Americans everywhere with townhall meetings, conversations and the call for more debates. All the while Obama was having his teleprompted speeches and love fests on network and cable news. Or at least what passes for news.

I am more than a little disappointed with Gore’s endorsement and had planned to write about that. In fact I still might. But I will never be able to say what you said and how you said it with anywhere the grace and eloquence as you.

Thank you for a very moving article.

Most sincerely. Pagan

As for voting, hey I didn’t vote for the war either. That’s because I wasn’t a senator. Neither was he. But given his record in the state senate, it’s a fairly good guess that if he had been there, he would have voted “present” like he did on every other controversial issue.

Gore is doing what party people do folks. He would do it if Dracula were nominated. Don’t take it personally. Besides, given the last 40 years in this party, the only presidential candidates left to ensdorse Barky are losers. Hopefully he will join that club.

Good essay. When the DNC uses endorsers to solicit donations, it is important to let them know why you disagree with their endorsement.

I do no think it a good idea to judge Al Gore’s accomplishments as a Democrat by his poor judgment on the Obama campaign question, like some people are doing. Gore was an important piece of the pie that made the Clinton presidency quite a good and successful time for America. Gore was a hands-on, hard working, public servant as the VP. For example, he did yeoman work reorganizing the civil service in a manner that improved performance while respecting civil servants. It is important to not get sucked into the vortex of lies that the Republicans used to undermine Gore. Otherwise, we are using the same scorched earth tactics used by the Obama campaign to falsely re-vision the Clinton presidency as bad times.

P.S. One can only laugh at the doublespeak involved with the thought police obamatroll named freedom fighter. Love is hate. Peace is war. Truth is falsehood. Freedom is slavery. Obama is ….

Comment by DirOfTheObv | 2008-06-17 11:17:10

Al Gore is endorsing the author of the lie! Why should we hold his so-called accomplishments up in any higher esteem than his new candidate held up Hillary’s.

Ani,
Every time I read this I am struck by your profound logic. I only wish Gore would have been able to see it over the din of the DNC (Diebold National Committee). He of all folks should recognize selection over election. Political folks share that same streak of expediency.

The irony of Gore giving a speech for Obama in Michigan will most likely not be lost on the remaining UAW members. They’re probably just building a bigger bus for Obama, knowing they will go under it shortly and be joined with the rest of us that are part of the democratic party.

Great letter to Al, Anni.

While Al’s final action to succumb to “party unity”, to offer support to B O, made me sad, it wasn’t a total surprise. Al seems to always put “party” first. And he will always be a Democrat. He waited the latest to offer his support, besides the last one, Bill-himself, and didn’t endorse when there were candidates to choose from in a Primary. Although the Convention hasn’t taken place yet and could have waited until then, the party leadership made clear they wanted to “unify” now before the Convention and Al complied to party wishes.

Yet another point that makes me sad, because in this action, Al contradicts his own position. When he claimed that Global Warming and solving it, is the most important to him. And that Global Warming and the Environment does have a political party. That Al wanted to see what ALL candidates have to offer, because that is most important……………ONLY KIDDING-I guess. :(

And MAN, HIllary’s policy on the environment was excellent. She was striving for higher CAFE standards to 55 mpg, not B O, he had a goal of like 42, but now he has REMOVED that from his site with only generalized terminology.

“Increase Fuel Economy Standards: Obama has developed an innovative approach to double fuel
economy standards within 18 years while protecting the financial future of domestic automakers. His
plan, which will save nearly a half trillion gallons of gasoline and 6 billion metric tons of greenhouse
gases by 2028, will establish concrete targets for annual CAFE increases while giving industry the
flexibility to meet those targets. Obama’s innovative approach broke through a 20 year deadlock in
Congress and is the basis for bipartisan legislation that passed the Senate this year.”

Hillary was the one that created the Green Collar Jobs program. Hillary was the one that adopted Al Gore’s Connie Mae for motgaging GREEN building mortgaging, for all to afford.

Obama was the one pushing Nuclear energy. Not Hillary and…..Obama was the one pushing Liquid Coal, for the 2ND time, bringing it back in Jan 2007 when he started his Presidential campaign, until it ground to a halt in June. Ignoring the pleas from the environmentalists including Robert F Kennedy Jr at the NRDC and Al Gore himself, when they stated this would add so much more pollution to our environment, it would be like replacing every car with a HUMMER.

Let’s not forget, Exelon(nuclear), one of B O’s largest contributors, besides the Coal industry.

So sad that Al fell for the pressure to put party first.

Maybe he’s banking on us learning and doing what’s right on our own. That surely includes B O’s one way messaging campaign that Al also does not agree with.

Al Gore is a puke. He, Richardson et al should have endorsed Hillary long ago. Instead they wanted to punish the Clintons and in so doing punished all democrats and America. Denying democrats and America a truly gifted and able candidate to become our next president. What is more troubling to me is reading many people say I won’t vote for Obama but I can’t vote for McCain. Voting for a third party candidate is dangerous because McCain needs all the votes he can get in order to stop Obama. That should be everyone’s mission to get McCain in so Obama cannot win the election. It is possible although very unlikely that Hillary might be the nominee at the convention. The whole party seems to be against her. Patti Solis Doyle and Penn helped in defeating Hillary. I’ll believe that until the day I die. McCain is a war hero and a maverick. He does have to play is right down the middle for now because he is trying hard to convince a large audience that he is the one to lead this country. I understand that. I trust him to run our country. He is a patriot. If is isn’t Hillary then its McCain. No Obama ever on any ticket.

Gore’s johnny-come-lately endorsement is just another ploy.

Dean probably put a neo-liberal metaphoical gun to his head.

The lateness of the endorsement is a big CLUE.

Of course Gore “has to” endorse Obama but he took his time to send a message.

And notice Bill Clinton has not said a word.

Bill Clinton — the only 2-term democratic president in recent history, has NOT come out to endorse Obama.

This is a game.

And the Clintons are playing their cards very well.

Look at the ONLY email I got from HRC camp this week — you see any mention of supporting Obama?

Not me.

Let’s take a step back in time when obama and his campaign and all his bots were hyper critical towards HRC when they threw out the story HRC was pro NAFTA. Now you have Gore that appeared on national tv in a debate with Perot about the greatness of NAFTA. Those same bots give Gore a pass for his support of NAFTA but go apechit blaming HRC.

Let’s see obama has the support of two guys that lost the election for president. Gore/Kerry. If I were William Jerfferson Clinton I would not support obama until obama and his campaign apologized for their attempt to make him and HRC bigots and racists.

I shall not support obama until said apology comes forth and now with the Sollis Doyle or Doyle Sollis working for obama(let go from HRC campaign) in the selection of a VP this is a slap in the face of all HRC supporters because obama and his campaign is saying HRC will not even be asked. Word is she Sollis Doyle had contact with the obama campaign while working on the HRC campaign….

Maybe Mr. J could look into this matter.

Al Gore didn’t take sides during this election because he didn’t want to lose the youth enthusiasm and the ego-building he’d built up during the past year for his global warming cause. What’s that saying about real heroism?? —It means speaking up in a circumstance and calling something “wrong” when you risk losing everything you have. (See “To Kill a Mockingbird”) Al Gore waited to endorse Obama when everything was “safe”. In this election cycle, I’ve seen very few Democratic politicians go out on a limb and call out what was wrong. Most of them put their heads in the sand and are not honorable in my book. Only a brave handful took the media or their fellow politicians to task for the way Hillary was treated, and stood up for what was right. Only those few deserve my respect, and Al Gore is not one of them.

Comment by Vince P | 2008-06-17 12:39:27

Al Gore is of questionable honor. There is no Global Warming.. there is no data supporting it.

All he has done is demogogue the issue while he himself has holdings in carbon trading companies.. so it’s to his advantage to have people believe in global warming.

Most people would find it impossible to image the sick, twisted, bitter and hateful individuals that exist on this blog. I’ve read some extremely warped rants on ultra neocon PAC527 blogs, but they read like truth tellers compared to this gibberish.

Larry Johnson, SusanUnPC, Ani, PatRacimora, Rabble Rouse Reverend Amy, I suspect you are Republicans in liberal clothing trying to divide and conquer the Democratic party from within. Referencing Brit Hume, Neil Cavuto, Fox News, Will Bower… what’s next, Rush Limbaugh and Bill O’Reilly as sources for fair and balanced journalism?

The rest of you mindless Hillary lemmings continually soak up this distortion and hate and cheer them on like Nazis at a KKK Kool Aid rally. Your fingers must be a blur on the keyboard as you rush to post another negative comment on Obama.

No Quarter. Tired of spin? What an oxymoron! Spin is all that exists on this blog. And fuzzy math. Lots of fuzzy math! Popular vote? Give me a freakin’ break. There was only one out of five scenarios that yielded that result. Most states won, most declared delegates, and most superdelegates are meaningless?

Selective journalism is all that can be read on No Quarter. Posting a New York Observer link on the Clinton Bundler/Patti Solis Doyle article while ignoring the Observer’s endorsement of Obama, ignoring all other articles by Jason Horowitz, and then spining the “Bundler” story to promote your pathetic and never-ending Hillary pity party, conspiracy theories.

Thank you so much for your detailed Open Letter to Al Gore. When I got an email from asking for money for Obama’s campaign, I sent him back this email. I’d like to get a list of his email addresses to send him this again and again..

I’m one of your longtime supporters, Al. I voted for you in my state’s caucus (Maine) when you first ran for president. I supported you right from the beginning in the 2000 election. I’m sorry to disappoint you now, but I think the Democratic Party, to quote a fellow Mainer, lost its moral compass this primary season.

The DNC stupidly threw out millions of their own voters; in other words millions of babies out with the bathwater. My mother is a lifelong Democrat who lives in Florida. She’s not half a person. To punish Dems for what the Republican legislature did is absurd. Now the DNC says they’ll give Florida delegates half votes. THE DAMAGE HAD ALREADY BEEN DONE, AND THE DNC KNOWS IT. The remedy was way too little; way too late. I’m totally disgusted with the Democratic Party. How dare they give all the Uncommitted votes in Michigan to someone who, of his own volition, took his name off the ballot. Those Uncommitted voters should be represented at the convention by Uncommitted delegates. He did not earn those votes. The DNC made itself into a big Enabler for Sen. Obama. This is entitlement run amok.

One final note: the Democratic Party has taken its women voters for granted far too long. NO MORE. You guys can iron your own shirts. Good luck in the general election.

p.s. How did Senator Obama vote on Cneney’s 2005 Energy Bill

Could it be Soros ask for return of his investment backing Gore and Kerry? I guess if you awe someone you do what they say. Gore logic was flawed but again I never heard anyone saying anything in favor of Bo that isn’t flawed.

Howard Dean Schemes To Shut Down Democratic Convention–June 12, 2008 (LPAC)–Billionaire George Soros is paying DNC Dean to shut the 18 million loyal Democratic and independent voters who supported Hillary Clinton out of the Denver convention altogether. Obama campaign is pushing to actually unseat all the Clinton delegates and replace them with Obama loyalists, there are more recent reports that Howard Dean is trying to prevent any balloting for the Democratic nominee, and instead is trying to just ram through a voice vote for Obama, without a state-by-state roll call. Even after the two parties turned their nominating conventions into ersatz rock concerts, it was always the case that the losing candidates were all given the opportunity to speak from the podium, and a full vote taken, before the anointed candidate was confirmed. Usually, in a gesture of party unity, after the first ballot vote was taken, a motion would be presented to endorse the candidate by unanimous consent. These traditions actually did have the effect of unifying the party, often after a tight and hotly contested primary season, and at least conveyed the idea that the party came out of the convention unified behind the Presidential and VP nominees, going into the November general elections. Clearly, between the Obama campaign and Howard Dean, there is a great deal of worry that the vicious campaign that was run against Hillary Clinton has created a level of fury, which could explode at the convention. Between Soros, Dean, Nancy Pelosi, Reid, and, Obama campaign, there has been so much bad blood generated, that they have turned Hillary supporters into fanatics. According to one well-placed Washington source, if 20% of Hillary Clinton voters were to sit out the November Presidential vote, that would amount to a loss of 4 million potential Obama voters–if, indeed, Obama wound up with the nomination in the first place. That could spell certain doom for Obama’s already-doomed candidancy.

Instead — by insisting repeatedly that he is solely a “committed Christian” and has “never been a Muslim” — Obama may be insulting Muslims worldwide who are surely puzzled why he hides this past. Further, his obfuscations lose him credibility among voters who seek honesty and forthrightness in their presidential candidates.Obama seems unable to grasp what most mature people understand: That hiding the simple truth damages one’s reputation far more than the fact that is being hidden.Today, on his Fox News “Special Report with Brit Hume,” the veteran reporter noted in his daily “Political Grapevine” segment on his weekday program at 6 p.m. ET:

Soros Bankrolling MoveOn in Last Gasp Move To Steal the Nomination for Obama
Increase Decrease

June 3, 2008 (LPAC)–Millions of dollars are being conduited through a George Soros front organization, in a desperate effort to buy up superdelegates for Senator Barack Obama, according to well-placed Washington sources. “They suddenly have a nearly bottomless pool of cash,” one Washington insider reported.

MoveOn was launched in September 1998, at the peak of the drive to impeach President Bill Clinton, ostensibly to counter the impeachment drive with a more “modest” demand for Clinton’s censure by the U.S. Congress. This occurred at exactly the moment that President Clinton was promoting the need for a “new global financial architecture,” and at the same time that the LaRouche movement was leading the Committee to Save the Presidency, by going hard after the Mellon Scaife and neocon network behind the impeachment drive. Whereas the Committee to Save the Presidency assailed then-Vice President Al Gore for his collusion with Joseph Lieberman, in attempting to force Clinton to resign, MoveOn has been a big booster of Gore for years. Gore and Howard Dean both promoted MoveOn after the U.S. invasion of Iraq.

By Autumn 2003 at the latest, MoveOn had been gobbled up by George Soros, and his inner sanctum of billionaires, like Cleveland insurance magnate Peter Lewis, and Phoenix University founder and CEO John Sperling, both of whom had colluded with Soros throughout the 1990s to promote drug legalization, via the Drug Policy Foundation. At the initial meeting in Autumn 2003, between Soros and the co-founders of MoveOn, San Francisco IT execs Joan Blades and Wes Boyd, Soros, his son Jonathan Soros, Peter Lewis, and Peter Bing kicked in over $6 million. By various news accounts, based on FEC and IRS filings, by 2006, MoveOn had received more than $30 million from Soros and Lewis.

“Grassroots” organization MoveOn has other billionaires among its benefactors, including two members of the Rockefeller family, who have been funding the group since 1999. Laurence Rockefeller and Wendy Rockefeller, both big boosters of the League of Conservation Voters and other radical Malthusian environmental outfits, have given undisclosed amounts of money to MoveOn. The Pritzker family of Chicago (Penny Pritzker is treasurer of the Obama for President Campaign) are big contributors to MoveOn, with Linda Pritzker, a billionaire Tibetan Buddhist, transplanted from Chicago to western Montana, having given a reported $4 million alone to the Soros group.

Now, Democratic Party sources report, that pool of cash is being targeted towards buying up superdelegate endorsements for Barack Obama. Former Senator and Presidential candidate John Edwards signed up for the Obama campaign one day after his antipoverty group received big financial backing from a string of other Soros-bankrolled groups, including Center for American Progress Action Committee and ACORN. Both groups are on the short list of “approved” organizations, funded by Soros’ Democracy Alliance, an organization launched by Soros in 2004, and made up of 70 billionaires, who agreed in 2004 to pool their funds, to take over the Democratic Party.

Lyndon LaRouche has emphasized that the Anglo-Dutch financial oligarchy, which created and owns British agent George Soros, has no intention of actually allowing Barack Obama to be elected President. His sole mission is to stop Hillary Clinton from getting the nomination. There is good reason to believe that George Soros is totally aware of, and in on, this plan. Soros has been a major financial backer to John McCain, according to a variety of published reports. When McCain and Sen. Russ Feingold were pushing their McCain-Feingold campaign finance reform bill through the Senate, Soros front groups gave a reported $18 million to the effort to mobilize support. And more recently, Soros’ Open Society Institute was a major donor to McCain’s Reform Institute.
