Getting more pledged delegates did have something to do with the support of the supers however.

What's great is how Hillary's campaign kept switching tactics depending solely on what would help them: first they tried to put the nomination in the bag as early as possible, by lining up as many supers as possible, saying "this is a delegate race". Then after Obama fought her to a draw on Super Tuesday and racked up all those victories in February, Clinton's campaign started asking supers to hold off from committing, saying that "every voter needs to be heard from". Conveniently ignoring the fact that in '04 Kerry wrapped it up basically after New Hampshire, effectively "disenfranchising" most of the country, and that it was their hope that Super Tuesday would accomplish the same for Hillary.

And much the same with MI and FL: they were against seating the delegates before they were for doing so. That sort of win-at-all-costs hypocrisy didn't escape the notice of supers, nor of voters. All it accomplished, in the end, is that it ginned up <strike>zillions</strike> <strike>hundreds</strike> dozens of Hillary voters to get pissed off and say they're going to support the progressive McSame over Obama, who shares 90%+ of Hillary's positions.

But it's not going to be Harriet Christian-types deciding this election. It's going to be swing voters and an energized Dem party base, both of which are supporting Obama according to reality-based measures.

I used to read this blog for hard-biting reporting and opinion on current intelligence policy and operations...alas, it's turned into the "Grudge Report".

Sadly, this is my last visit. I was hoping that after the election, youall would get back to what you do best. Guess not.

http://www.chicagoreader.com/features/stories/archive/barackobama/

You do not suddenly just decide to go to Columbia University. Obama would have needed either one fantastic letter of reference or 2 solid letters of people well known to Columbia U, even if he applied for an Affirmative Action, or Minority admission.

If you look back Obama was a B, B+ student - good but not exceptional. Further there has been no mention of extracurricular or leadership activities at Panahu(sp?) or Occidental. His basketball skills were decent but not good enough to qualify for first string his Junior and Senior year at Punahou.

Thomas Ayers, Bill’s Father, personally knew Obama’s mentor Frank Marshall Davis. There is a strong case that Marshall contacted Tom Ayers who provided a name that could be dropped and the key to Obama’s acceptance at Columbia. He would have done this on the condition of kind words from Bill and Bernadette, who had established a relation with Obama in NYC. It seems Obama sought them out after going to he CA radical school Occidental. Obama, as a young man, put himself in a certain direction. As soon as he came out to Chicago, he met started to work in the Daley Machine where Thomas Ayers was in the pay-to-play club and where Bill would follow in his old man's foot steps... and Obama met Bill officially in 1987.

<strong> “And that’s the part of the videotape, courtesy of Fox News, where viewers need to pay some attention to the hand that Obama raised to his face, and the finger with which he scratched it.”</strong> The Chicago Tribune

<strong>The presidential candidate raises his right hand to seemingly scratch his cheek. He doesn't use his whole hand though. Just one finger. Briefly. A couple of strokes. He pauses. He smiles slyly as the crowd begins to mumble and then he tries, somewhat distracted, to continue his remarks, smiling as the buzz spreads through the crowd. He'll no doubt deny it later, but that mischievous smile seems to confirm plenty. And the crowd sure sees something</strong>. The LA Times

Affirmative action simply says that his race was a consideration when his application was reviewed by the Harvard admissions board. Where did I say he did anything less than excel once he was admitted as a student? I mentioned Clinton, because women were also beneficiaries of affirmative action. But Obama can speak for himself on this, and his quote is in accordance with my comment.

<em>"I have no way of knowing whether I was a beneficiary of affirmative action either in my admission to Harvard or my initial election to the Review. ... If I was, then I certainly am not ashamed of the fact, for I would argue that affirmative action is important precisely because those who benefit typically rise to the challenge when given an opportunity." [E.A.]

John Kerry advised Obama to make sure his rapid-response team didn't let a single attack go unanswered?

What a crock!

I was one of the original Kerry rapid-responders in 2003-04 (in the Stanton Park DC HQ), and we were not allowed to address the swiftboaters head on.

We had to use our own personal blogs and discussion forums we joined as private citizens... on our own time, by the way... in order to fight back against the military service smears.

One more thing about that article: If you replace "Obama" with "Bush," several of those descriptive paragraphs look scarily familiar.

Oh give him a home where the Rezkos roam -- and a couple of ex-Governors of Illinois -- and they'll sing all day. Where the skies are not cloudy all day. . .
