Michelle: Barack is “Sweet and Pathetic”

Well, the Obama campaign is working hard to make her over — to make up for her primary remarks that he is “stinky” in the mornings and can’t make a bed as well as her 10-year-old, let alone put the butter and bread away. But the campaign has its work cut out for it, and Michelle clearly has a long way to go to become more like her new role model, Laura Bush.

Yes, Michelle really said she discouraged Barack Obama from entering politics because he is “sweet and pathetic.” I listened through four YouTube segments of Michelle Obama’s appearance yesterday on ABC’s The View to be certain. Here is that segment, in part 4:

Lynn Sweet, in her column at the Chicago Sun-Times, reports that, after Sweet wrote up Michelle’s remarks, “Obama spokesman Tommy Vietor called to say Michelle Obama said ‘empathetic’, not pathetic.” How ridiculous! Watch the above video, and it’s 100% clear that she said her husband, the presumptive presidential nominee, is “pathetic.”

WHY, oh why, do Obama and his campaign constantly try to “unring” the bell? Every time they do this, they just dig the hole deeper, and make the issue bigger than it really is.

It’s like Obama running away from his true history, as a child and young man, living in a Muslim household in a predominantly Muslim country, Indonesia, and traveling to Africa where most of his relatives are Muslims. That he grew up, partly, surrounded by practitioners of the Muslim faith, is not in itself a negative. But his adamant denials, and insistence he is a true Christian, just make him look, well, not only ridiculous but a liar. The saddest part of this obfuscation and denial is that he shouldn’t hide his life story, but instead turn it into a positive, that he was exposed to another faith and culture. (See my story, “Brit Hume Raises the Question of Barack Obama’s Muslim Background” and Pagan Power’s story here, “Obama Throws Muslims Under the Bus Too.”)

Here’s what veteran reporter Lynn Sweet originally reported about Michelle’s unfortunate remarks yesterday on The View. Sweet’s account is obviously accurate:

Barbara Walters asks Michelle Obama about how she reacted when husband Barack told her he was running for president. “Did you want him to be president,” Walters asked.

No, said Obama. “”Please, don’t do this. You know, I did not want Barack to go into politics because I thought politics was a mean business. And you know, I knew this man that I loved, he was sweet and pathetic, I thought. there was no way…….”"

At that Walters the other hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd seemed to instantly realize what Obama did not–that you do not call a potential president of the United State pathetic, even if you love him–and they started kind of shouting at her, to sort of stop her before she does more damage and gives another quote that will be used against her…

Someone suggested that Obama really intended to say “empathetic.”

Goldberg spelled out E M P A T H…

Michelle has a clear pattern of putting her husband down in public. (One can only imagine what she talks to him like when they’re alone.)

Some people feel a sense of power — and hide their own insecurities — by putting other people down often. These types of people seize control of their relationships, especially if the person on the receiving end is vulnerable to such put-downs. Michelle clearly seems to be one of those people who gains personal power and a sense of superiority by being the controlling person in the relationship.

This also explains why Barack — very frequently in his public speeches — mentions that he knows he is an imperfect person because his wife often reminds him that he is less than perfect. His repeated references to her put-downs mark him as a person who is vulnerable to control by domineering people.

That is a worrisome trait for someone who seeks to be a very powerful leader. It is not a reassuring sign that he truly can grasp and command the leadership role as President of the United States.

Aside from his gifts for oratory, I have yet to see other traits in him that show him to be leadership material.

I do not see him as a “buck stops here” kind of leader.

That portends for some very serious problems should he become Commander in Chief.

If he is speaking directly with domineering, power-hungry heads of state, he will have a difficult time commanding any control over the dialogue.

If he is seeking the advice of our nation’s military leaders — especially given his utter lack of experience in military matters — how will he be able to stand up to commanders in the military who, despite their training to defer to the Commander in Chief, also be ill at ease because they will see, at once, that 1) he is too unsure of himself, and 2) his required learning curve is too high. Besides his tendencies to defer to dominant people, he will not have the knowledge to challenge their arguments in tense international situations.

The list of scenarios is endless in which his inability to be the clear leader — with the in-depth knowledge to discern which arguments and courses of action are best, and the inner strength to be bold and decisive — could put this nation not merely in peril but also on some rocky, even embarrassing paths internationally and domestically.

It is a grave concern.

I’ve often said that Obama strikes me as having the personality of someone who’d fit well in an academic or public service environment — but never as the take-charge, buck-stops-here leader.

It is not in itself a fault that he does not have the characteristics of a real leader.

He is who he is, but his ambitions have gotten the better of him, and he’s pulling a Peter Principle on himself and the American people.

We can all — in our imaginations — fantasize, and envision ourselves as great, decisive leaders. But those among us who know ourselves also see and understand our own limitations, and we know, realistically, which among us has what it takes to be a real leader.

But he has no business running to be president of the United States.

Helloooo….I played this a couple of times. Listen with your eyes closed and you will hear “empathetic”. I did. Cut her a break - She really rubs me wrong, but I am willing to listen (albeit carefully) and give her a chance. I must support a democrat and because McCain is looking rather weak ( I wonder how much the press is playing into that), Obama is getting a second look from me. Just the truth folks. No candidate will ever be perfect, but I hope they will do what is best for the country and be strong.

Obama is getting a second look from you? Are you joking here? Sorry but I gotta say it. THIS country will be RUINED if obama is elected. With the ‘only’ two choices we have..McCain is the only one that I feel ’secure’ with as far as running our country. God bless America.

Actually I was watching the View when Michelle did say, “PATHETIC”. The women realized she had said it and began correcting her.

Whether Michelle honestly meant Pathetic or Empathetic only she knows. Anyone can correct someone when they feel they have used the wrong word or words especially when they realize it can be harmful or hurtful for saying it.

Just like she needed to be retracked when she said, “For the first time in my adult life I am really proud of my country.”

Again….immediately everyone started speaking for her and emphasizing on “REALLY”.

Let the woman speak for herself. It’s like she is a puppet and everytime she mis speaks someone it there to clean it up for her.

Suppose she didn’t really mean to say the girls don’t jump into bed with them in the mornings because Obama is “snorey and stinky”. Who would say these things on national television about their husband? Where is her sensitivity?

Has anybody been following this crazy Larry Sinclair event at the National Press Club yesterday. It’s like a soap opra. The guy gets arrested after he spoke or near the end of him speaking. What makes it more interesting was who was behind him getting arrested. This guy is not out hiding anywhere. They could of done that weeks ago when he arrived in DC for the MI and FL decision. He went to the DNC announcing what he was going to do for a few days. Also how can this guy still be making such a fuss for this long. He is begging the media to get out there and prove him right or wrong. Does anyone in the media have the guts to put an end to this once and for all. I don’t believe a word he is saying about Obama but I do agree with him that the media is not out checking this out. For Obama’s sake he does not need this kind of person floating around for so long. Others may watch this and try to join this guy. Also waiting in the wings with this is the Rev. Manning, he was there when this guy got arrested. You can’t make this up.

Comment by Dawnelle | 2008-06-19 18:46:59

Comment by Joe Smith | 2008-06-19 18:49:02

I just don’t understand why this guy would go through all the grief to just get arrested and ridiculed in public. He is very light no proof though but seemed very sincere in hes video conference.

Comment by dms | 2008-06-19 18:56:56

What amazes me about this guy besides going thru so much grief is that he has documents and names. What is going on here? Usually a guy likes this get’s their day in the sunshine and that’s it. Not this guy, he keeps coming back and with more stuff each time. What’s his connection with the Rev. Manning and what’s he up to in all of this.

Comment by Pam G | 2008-06-19 19:08:02

Believe me, I’m the first in line to vote NO-Obama. I can’t stand him. But Michelle clearly said “empathetic…..” “He’s sweet, empathetic…” Let’s not go overboard like the Obamabots do by making more out of something she said than what was really intended…..

Comment by Mary | 2008-06-19 19:43:43

No. I watched the show.

Michelle said sweet and pathetic, and Barbara Walters corrected her.

Comment by MaryPat | 2008-06-20 01:24:10

She definitely said “pathetic.” Everyone is gushing about her appearance, but it’s obvious that she was very carefully coached. It was all a big marketing job–”here I am, the new user-friendly Michelle Obama.” She was measuring her every word, and there is no way she said EMpathetic.

What’s really pathetic is the garbage about Matthew Broderick’s son being “for” Obama. WTF? Would someone please tell these self-absorbed celebrities that their precious offspring are just children? It’s bad enough the college kids are all braindead for Obama–and God help us, have the vote–but now we’re supposed to pay attention to the political “thoughts” of kindergartners? This would be funny if it weren’t so…uh, PATHETIC.

Comment by sjc-tx | 2008-06-20 10:29:36

Comment by Lauren M | 2008-06-19 22:54:27

It’s amazing, even the people who don’t like him make excuses for the “pathetic” wanna be. Michelle said “pathetic” and probably meant it, but she really didn’t want to say it outloud.

It’s not the mistake that is sooooo bad, it’s the back peddling and lies to cover the small mispoken word. People wouldn’t think twice if someone with a good reputation said something like that… everyone would have laughed and it would have been forgotten. In this case ……. well, you know…. same ole’ same ole’

I have been following the Larry Sinclair story since January. At first I thought what a nutcase, but when Whitehouse.com hoaxed him into taking the lie detector test and did not honor their contract and immediately revamped their web site and stopped allowing people to post I became suspicious.

Allegations are that Dan Parisi the owner of Whitehouse.com was paid $750,000 to get Larry to take the test and report on their site he failed it. Dan Parisi did NOT refute those allegations. Go to
http://www.larrysinclair.org and read about it and ask yourself why was he arrested AFTER the entire National Press conference took place? Did they want to see exactly what information he was going to realease?

He was in Washington D.C. just weeks prior and could have been arrested then. He made it public where and when he was there for the DNC decision meeting. He was passing out flyers in front of the hotel where the DNC meeting took place. Why not arrest him then?

WHY won’t the media give it any coverage at all? All major news stations and newspapers have known about this story as far back as Jan. Internationally they are covering this story and wondering why the U.S. is not.

Whether Larry is truthful or not he has been attacked with death threats, harrassment and now jailed for a warrant he was in the process of taking care of. Is this a part of possibly a larger story. Why hasn’t the Chicago police investigated Donald Young’s murder? He was a longtime member of Trinity church, Obama and REv. Wright’s church.

I agree with Larry Sincliar when a reporter asked why should they believe him, he said and I quote, ““To be honest with you, its not so much whether you believe me or not, as much as you hear me.” He is just providing information for this to be investigated. WHY NOT at least check it out?

The media has refused to even give light of day to any of this. WHY NOT? Don’t say because he is a nutcase criminal… because the media reports plenty of unsubstaniated, crazy, criminal stories. Why was he arrested immediately after the Press conference making it impossible for him to provide the reporters and public with more information as he promised he would. He has not been able to access his computer since he finished his conference. A doctored, cut version of the Press conference appeared on You Tube just minutes after he was arrested. The true entire uncut version can be viewed at http://www.citizenwells.com and now on You Tube.

How long is America going to allow the media to hold us hostage from information that can determine the outcome of this election? They are supposed to be unbiased, responsible to report and let us decide for ourselves if it is newsworthy or not. I for one am appalled at the way the media has covered this electoral process. It has been Pro Obama from the beginning. I am appalled at how the DNC has broken their own committee rules to give Obama the presumptive nominee. I have been a democrat my entire life and am going to become an Independent. I have NO faith or trust in either party. Politicians will do and stop ant NOTHING to be elected and those who want them in office will do and stop at nothing to make it happen. They say, “Every vote counts.” That is NOT true it only counts “IF” it serves “THEIR” purpose.

18 million voters were NOT counted and 4 delegates and the uncommitted voters in Michigan did NOT count. In the end the DNC disregarded them and handed the presumptive nominee to Obama.

Let’s all stand up and demand the media do their job and do it fairly.

There is more about Obamas Friend -Young, director of Trinity Church Chorus. Mr.Young plus 2 other members of this church vere killed, and one of those two man was also gay. 3 killings, two gay man in 6 weeks.Chicago police still investigate this triple murder!!!. Some Tv stations are asking about Obamas birth certificate, and they believe that Obama is not USA born citizen!!!. They are saying(Brith Hume), that He was born in Kenya, and brought to Hawaii. Wow, this is really something. I watched that video and they were clearly laughing about how it sounded like “pathetic” even though they all knew she said empathetic. Do you really think three different people on the view would have all swooped in to save her with the exact same creative idea on how to save herself? There’s some serious desperate listening going on here.

Comment by C.S. | 2008-06-19 23:46:47

Do I think the co-hosts of The View would swoop in to save her? Yes, I do. Mainstream media does it for the Obamas all the time which is why so many of us no longer watch it and it takes some serious effort to ignore that bias. Now, if you ask me why they would do it that’s a very interesting question.

Comment by Tyrione | 2008-06-20 04:09:49

You have an aural deficiency in your language perception processes of which you are aided by your desired deduction for a certain outcome to transpire, in this case that Michelle said empathetic instead of the actual outcome of pathetic.

The members of the view teased her about it and she followed it up with `I know,” as in she misstated.

More to the point, her statement sweet pathetic went without any descriptive pause to emphasize the adjectives because they were bound by a conjunction, namely an “and.”

As one of the earliest responses stated, “A Freudian Slip?”

Yes, indeed.

Susan this analysis is spot on. I would vote for a Muslim. I would vote for a biracial or black person, in fact Al Sharpton to me is looking a lot more like a stand-up leader now. But Obama is passive. He’s also passive-aggressive. He is conflict-avoidant, and studies show this generation is conflict-avoidant and says freedom of speech goes too far.

In a democracy, conflict is a virtue. The suppression of the conflict of ideas snuffs out dialog and the airing of opinions and with it, the freedom of thought.

This shows in him trying to get opponents off the ballot - he did this not just to Alice Palmer but to another opponent who was not even a threat (he was an immigrant, and was highlighted in the CNN piece on Obama’s pattern of shoving opponents off the ballot.) His conflict-avoidance shows in having his flacks trying to get Hillary to drop out. He wants a coronation because he does not want conflicting ideas to be debated. Conflict is messy to him. Debate is messy to him. He sees it as bad and not nice. He does not want a participatory democracy in which people are encouraged to run for office.
Conflict-avoidance even kept him from embracing his civil rights law practice:

Miner’s firm specialized in civil rights litigation and in representing not-for-profits. “The ‘game of law’ irritated [Obama] more than fascinated him,” Miner says. “There are people who just like the game. Barack didn’t like the game.”

Sometimes those who avoid conflict can be more hostile than those who accept it, make room for it, dive in and debate ideas and respect their opponents. Obama has contempt for his opponents because he has contempt for competitive races.

Obama’s conflict-avoidance led to the campaign against Hillary and now against McCain to being very personal and mean-spirited. It’s telling Michelle Obama says politics is a mean business.

Comment by Northwest rain | 2008-06-19 20:15:13

Passive-aggressive people are the most dangerous.

McCain knows what Obama is — because Obama pulled this passive-aggressive crap on McCain — on several occasion. The first time McCain thought he had an agreement with Obama — but Obama only agreed knowing that he was going to back out the next day.

Obama is NOT a leader — and this is why he is being promoted by the DNC — they want a WEAK leader so that others (his “advisers”) can take over. But he has learned to bring out the WORST in his followers. That skill seems to be easy for his personality type.

Symptoms

People with this disorder resent responsibility and show it through their behaviors, rather than by openly expressing their feelings. Procrastination, inefficiency, and forgetfulness are commonly used to avoid doing what they need to do or have been told by others to do.

A person with this disorder may appear to comply with another’s wishes and may even demonstrate enthusiasm for them. However, the requested action is either performed too late to be helpful, performed in a way that is useless, or is otherwise sabotaged to express anger that cannot be expressed verbally.

Personality disorders are diagnosed by psychological evaluation and a careful history of the extent and time course of the symptoms. Some of the common signs of passive-aggressive personality disorder include:

* Procrastination
* Intentional inefficiency
* Avoiding responsibility by claiming forgetfulness
* Complaining
* Blaming others
* Resentment
* Sullenness
* Fear of authority
* Resistance to suggestions from others
* Unexpressed anger or hostility

Comment by AF catfish | 2008-06-19 20:49:26

What causes this? By the way - this symptom I sense loud and clear: “Resistance to suggestions from others”.

Combined with inexperience, does not a good president make. And another reason I don’t want Hillary his veep - he will not take her advice, but he will blame her when things go wrong.

Barack is PATHETIC!

Hahaha I think the View ladies should have let her slide with the use of “pathetic.” Laughing about it and saying she said “empathetic” just drew more attention to her mistake.

Comment by Anne26 | 2008-06-21 13:06:07

I totally agree. I was watching it on Wed. and thougt I was hearing things when I heard Michelle say..P A T H E T I C. I said to myself…huh did she just call Barrack
P A T H E T I C? Then the women on the View realized what she said and they immediately started to correct her. Even Whoppie said she meant to say…EMpathetic…EM.

Michelle was stunned when the women began correcting her because I saw it as she did mean pathetic and they were replacing her word. lolol She followed up wtih he is “snorey and stinky” in the morning. Gee surprised the women on the View did not change that around some how.

OMG! Why deny that Michelle made another gaffe! It was very clear & the ladies even corrected her. I’m sure Laura Bush will be thinking another cover-up for Michelle’s gaffe.Laura Bush said that Michelle maybe meant “MORE PROUD” OF MY COUNTRY”.
Today’s news, Michelle was not sure how to address her “thank you” note, should she just write Madam First Lady or what?
Decision, decision, decision.
The rest of the country has HUGE PROBLEMS to handle, and those well-dressed ladies are chit-chating nonsense. Why not talk about: Did you donate your “stimulus tax refund to your favorite charity?” How do we conserve energy? How do we protest to Congress regarding their slow action against big oil companies? How can we help the flood victims? What did Obama do to help the people of Iowa? Who cares if Obama throws out the garbage!Really, Pathetic!

Comment by AF catfish | 2008-06-19 21:53:26

Obama was too busy to help flood victims. You see, he had to take the time to tell a reporter that McCain was not sufficiently defending Obama’s wife from Internet rumors.

McCain! Come home from the scene of the flood so you can slap down Internet rumors about Michelle!

Obama has to be in hell, living with that ogress of a wife.

And I’m willing to bet he cheated on her, because she’s a sexless, rabid creature with all the warmth and compassion of a rock. Think Maureen Dowd with a darker skin pigmentation.

No guy would put up with that creature unless he had something on the side going on.

What she said was PATHETIC and Whoopi corrected her and spelled out EMPATHETIC! The first thing to go is the mind! And they have the audacity to call us delusional!

Comment by Sumie | 2008-06-19 21:44:24

Saying that someone is “sweet and empathetic” makes sense.

Saying that someone is “sweet and pathetic”? Not so much.

So would it be reasonable to infer that Michelle Obama meant to say the first, but misspoke and said the latter?

Of course it would. But then, that would require empathy, a quality mostly (if not entirely) absent from this thread.

Comment by tunesmith | 2008-06-19 22:56:25

“sweet, empathetic… ”

she even closes her lips for the m sound.

Comment by Martello | 2008-07-01 12:01:30

Remember the context….”politics is mean…… whereas he is sweet and pathetic.” Here the “pathetic” is contrasting “mean” and “empathetic” doesnt work as well.

Also, if she really meant to say empathetic, would’nt she have said “…. he is sweet and empathetic.” ? So you would have an extra beat in there (and em) but to me I only heard one beat (and).

I like Obama but this is not comfortable especailly her other remarks, etc.

Comment by elise | 2008-06-20 04:03:45

Sweet and pathetic make more sense in the context of what she was saying. Why would she object to her husband being empathetic? It would be a good quality for a president.

Wow.

I think that it is not beyond the realm of possibilities that she was setting the stage for the plausibility of having said why’d he instead of whitey. Empathic is a synonym for empathetic. Both are adjectives and both are correct. Empathetic is more commonly used and probably more widely understood.

My 16 year old son is very smart (genius) but emotionaly immature and completely naive about politics.

He’s got Aspberger’s Syndrome so he is very black and white about issues. There is no middle ground with people with Aspberger’s; it’s either this way or that way. His head is so deep in the sand that it is troubling to me but I called him out of his room and asked him, as an unbiased observer, to look at that particular part of the clip and tell me what the “black lady is saying.” I phrased it that way because if I had asked him tell me what Michelle Obama is saying he’d say something like, “which one is Michelle Obama?” He wouldn’t recognize Michelle Obama period. (Very frustrating disorder!)

My son watched the clip three times and said “she is saying ‘he is sweet and pathetic.’” I asked him if he was sure she wasn’t saying “empathetic” and he got very exasperated with me and said “you can see her lips move around the word and she said PATHETIC and that’s why those other ladies jumped in and tried to correct her. By the way, who are they and why are they telling her she meant empathetic?” My son’s exact words.

So the Obama trolls or PRETEND Hillary supporters, I can’t stand Obama trolls can spin this whatever way they want but she definitely said “PATHETIC.”

Comment by AF catfish | 2008-06-19 21:49:29

There is nothing more infuriating than to be called “troll” or “pretend Clinton supporter” just because I happen to think this is a ridiculous point. It is. Think about it for a moment. Do you honestly believe that she meant to say “pathetic”? Do you really believe it was a “Freudian slip”? I heard it clearly with my own ears and apparently there are some who agree with me. She said, “empathetic”.

I’m sorry about you son’s Aspbergers. I’m sure it’s been a challenge. But don’t call me a “troll” or a “pretend Clinton supporter” just because I don’t agree with you. That, madame, is “pathetic”. Feel free to quote me on that.

Oh my. I am 100% against BO becoming POTUS and do not believe for a second that he is the rightful nominee or a qualified candidate.

However, with that said, the notion that MO said “pathetic” rather than “empathetic” is clearly and absolutely unfounded.

Please don’t shoot the messenger. I’m speaking for myself only, but I think this one is reaching. We have *so many, many, many, many* issues to point out against both BO and MO.

And let’s say for the sake of discussion that she did say “pathetic” … it pales in comparison to “misunderestimated.”

I haven’t noticed her being inarticulate in the appearances. I don’t know what she intended, but I have been walking around saying pathetic and empathetic and they sound different to my ears.

As her husband has pointed out, words are important (even though he plagiarized that). She is a complete stranger to me and the only criteria I have for judging her character is what she says.

I don’t know that I have ever voted for a president based on whether or not I liked his wife, but she was raised in a different culture and I am curious about her. As First Lady, she’ll represent the country and I don’t approve of her for the reason stated by Geraldine Ferraro: She said she would have to thnk about her support if Hillary were the nominee. In light of what she said about Hillary on The View, I like her even less because it is not consistant with her attitude for the past year and it didn’t ring true.

It seemed to be complimentary, but saying she would take her cues from Larua Bush made me want to throw up and I wonder why she and her husband like Republicans so much. We are living in Alice in Wonderland where :

Alice: If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is because everything would be what it isn’t. And contrary-wise; what it is it wouldn’t be, and what it wouldn’t be, it would. You see?

SusanUnPc; Thanks for giving voice to the big picture that has been the shadow over my thoughts for many weeks.

One could put all the subterfuge of identity politics aside and just focus on BO’s Psych profile and how he has reacted under even simple pressure;NOT well.
As I mentioned in a previous thread, looking at the tape of the room of “advisor’s” that BO had assembled for him, they were all Americans, yet it was clear that BO was not controlling the room and was not at ease. Who put these people in the room with him? That’s what I want to know!

Many of the people in that room have little respect for BO’s qualifications and will act accordingly. Same with leaders like Putin who can run the tables on GW, BO is headed for the outhouse.

I share your concern, as it is the reason he, to use a geek analogy, “knows just enough to screw it up”, this makes him VERY dangerous.

I recall how a Republican Congressman from the great state of Georgia, publicly took BO to task for failing a “continuity of government” exercises. While the congressman can be taken to task for breaking with a classified protocol, the fact that he was concerned enough to raise a public alarm is not something I can recall occurring.

The prime directive does not allow for human indifference.

Comment by Sprout | 2008-06-20 14:41:32

The View isn’t what it used to be when it first started with smart women talking about serious issues - now it’s a bunch of idiots yelling and screaming, no class and no brains. How can anyone still watch it?

As for Michelle Obama - I don’t like Obama neither and there’s plenty of other times when Michelle puts Obama down (or America, or white people), we don’t need to try to make it into something it’s not.

It’s clear she said: “he’s sweet annddduhhmm-paaatthetic.” That’s why it sounded like just “pathetic” as if you try and say the word “and” there’s a dip at the end that is lowered in cadence and so then the “em-” part of “empathetic” gets combined with the “and” to sound like “anndduhmmm” so you barely hear the “empathetic” part. That’s just how language is - especially since she was using similar adjectives to describe Barack “sweet and empathetic” - which of course considering the dirty tactics he uses and the way he treats people, he certainly is not. He’s a misogynist pig who enjoys belittling people for his own self ego, probably because his wife really lets him have it at home. She’s obviously the verbally abusive power-hungry one at home, a control-freak, while he is the slacker/slob/lazy no-talent pig. What a truly pathetic couple they are.

Sam you are fabulous with the “Know Obama, No Obama.” That is so true. For the pass year I have been studying Obama and once you learn his record and how he handles polictics then all you hear is hypocrisy and lies. I think you say it better though.

My party, the Democratic Party has become a joke with no backbone. They blindly pushed Obama forward while throwing Hillary Clinton under the bus. No one wanted to hear anything about Obama unless it came out of his book. If America elects him president then we remain an uninformed, easily conned voters. Voters still don’t realize that a revote could had happened in Florida and Michigan had he let the Clinton backers pay for the revote. It would have been following the DNC’s rules and bylaws and 100% of the delegates would been seated. He squashed their voices and next time it will be yours.

I listened. I, more than most, wanted to hear her verbal gaffe calling Obama “pathetic”. Unfortunately, she really did say “empathetic”. The tone was that there were other terms that went on and on such as “Sweet, empathetic..”
Believe me, I’d be all over it if she said pathetic and agree that he IS PATHETIC, but she said “empathetic”.
Of course that doesn’t mean WE don’t think PATHETIC wouldn’t be a better term.

I like Obama & I’m pretty sure Michelle said “pathetic.”

That said I believe that we have to consider that they are from two different cultures. He is not truly African-American - he is more white in some of his attitudes with his mother & granparents being white. Then the Ivy league education, etc.

Michelle on the other hand is truly African-American and I believe in that culture, AA women, for some reason believe that they have to prod & challenge their men so they dont give in to the discrimination of the white world & keep struggling & supporting their families. Even though this kind of behavior is not that necessary nowadays but it was when Michelle was coming of age & she has not adapted. She was programmed & she cant stop.

The “…proud of my country…” comment comes from the same place. An early attitude she picked up when she was growing up in her AA environment of the 1970’s.

Obama doesnt have these attitudes having been nurtured by a white mother & grandparents.
