Paula Abeles appeared on Fox & Friends this morning to respond to the vicious attacks — attacks that all of us are all too familiar with. I do not recall another campaign or its supporters behaving in such a repugnant, threatening manner. What is it about Barack Obama that brings out this hatred and viciousness in people? I repeat: I have never seen anything like this. It is deplorable. I am appalled that Obama has done NOTHING about this widespread behavior. (Media, if you are reading: The stories we could tell you would make you appalled at what we have had to deal with — direct threats as well as slander. It is hard to live in fear for one’s life simply because of our political views — what kind of country is this becoming?! If this is what “hope” and “change,” bring, GOD help us all.)

The Elian Gonzalez controversy is resurfacing on the 2008 campaign trail, as a great-uncle of the Cuban boy speaks out against two Barack Obama advisers who played a role in the dispute eight years ago.
The Miami Herald reported that Delfin Gonzalez planned to hold a news conference Friday in Miami to coincide with Obama’s arrival in the state, where the presumptive Democratic nominee is holding a fundraising event Friday night.
Delfin Gonzalez told the Herald he would denounce Eric Holder, a member of Obama’s running mate search team who was deputy attorney general at the start of the Gonzalez controversy, and Greg Craig, an Obama foreign policy adviser who represented Elian Gonzalez’s father during the custody dispute with his relatives in Miami.
“We’re going to express opposition to Barack Obama’s visit to Miami, and explain how we’re opposed to him having individuals on his campaign who were associated with Elian’s seizure in 2000,” Delfin Gonzalez told the newspaper. “Some wounds are so deep that they do not heal over time, such as taking a child and sealing his fate to a communist dictatorship.”
Elian Gonzalez, now 14, was 6 when his Miami relatives lost a custody dispute that drew international attention. He was returned to Cuba in 2000 with his father after washing ashore on U.S. coastline following a boating accident off the Florida coast as his family fled Cuba.
That was all over the local channels today. They were really mad. I don’t think he’s going to get much love in that part of Florida.
We had a home in southern florida for decades. I have many friends there and he is reviled.
There are tons of seniors in southern florida and they all think his rallies were straight from the Hitler Youth Movement playbook. Their suspicion of Obama goes wayyyyyyyy back in the primary.

NY Post: Olbermann Threatens to Quit if Not Made ‘Meet the Press’ Host

Although MSNBC and NBC officials are flatly denying the allegations, the New York Post on Friday reported that Keith Olbermann is threatening to quit if he’s not promoted to host “Meet the Press.”
The Post also claimed that Chris Matthews was actually heard lobbying for the job during Wednesday’s memorial service for Tim Russert.

Great, great job again Paula! Thank you so much for speaking out and I love how you pushed the free speech aspect at the end. This is one of the things that scares me most about Obama and his supporters-their attempts to silence anyone that speaks out against him or questions him. I believe many who oppose him have been silent out of intimidation and fear that they will be called racists- as that seems to be the MO of the Obama campaign. But I believe now people see the claim of racist as a ‘cry wolf’ because Obama has used it so much. This is too bad, because he is essentially setting race relations back and making the charge of actual racism have a lot less weight.

This is ridiculous - do you know anything about the woman’s past?? she was instrumental in keeping Black relatives of Thomas Jefferson out of a Jefferson family reunion in 2003. It is a known fact, that she admits to, that she impersonated an elderly Black person in trying to find out how Black relatives of Sally Hemmings were going to get into an upcoming Jefferson family reunion. her response, when caught, was that she just wanted a peaceful and civilized reunion (which I guess she could not have if any Black relatives were present). She may say she is not a racist, but her actions show otherwise. The woman is behind Hillaryis44 - another hate Obama site, just like no quarter. She did not provide one bit of proof that she has been threatened by anyone…she was and is a joke and a very ignorant sounding one at that. I can’t believe you would even consider quoting her. and Olberman did NOT even slam the woman much on his show…he stated a fact about her past.
Here is the issue Elizabeth. That this woman has done things many would disagree with in her past does not make her a legitimate target of hate and violence.
Further, her involvement in the Hemmings issue should not taint her testimony on this issue. She sights many reasons for not supporting Obama, but paranoid and blind Obama supporters keep leaning on racism as a crutch with which to bludgeon people who would deny the “Chosen One” their votes.
So, summing up: we don’t have any evidence, apart from her word, that Abeles has been a target of hate and violence. However, we do have evidence (see Elizabeth above, and Google) that she’s deceitful and a racist.

The authorities have the evidence. They are investigating the multiple threats and are in possession of all evidence until it is concluded. Some of the members of the Monticello Society seem open-minded about including Sally Hemmings’ and other slaves’ descendants. However, a few issues should be raised. DNA evidence was not conclusive that Thomas Jefferson fathered Hemmings’ children. The Y chromosome marker only says that it was a Jefferson male. Historical anecdote supports that Randolph Jefferson was the father.
This was Herbert Barger, one of the genealogists originally working on the DNA study:
The American scientific journal, Science, came forward January 8, 1999, in an excellent article stating that, “But now the authors of the report say the evidence for that is less than conclusive.” They make it abundantly clear that Dr. Foster says that the data establishes only that Thomas Jefferson was one of several candidates for the paternity of Eston Hemings. Science said that the Jefferson data has taken on a political spin and that Mr. Reed Irvine, Accuracy in Media (AIM), claims that the news media purposefully distorted the results of Dr. Foster’s study. Also, in Annette Gordon-Reed’s new updated version of her book “Thomas Jefferson and Sally Hemings: An American Controversy” that includes the DNA Authors Response states “The DNA test does not prove that the descendant of Eston Hemings was a direct descendant of Thomas Jefferson.”
My study indicates to me that Thomas Jefferson was NOT the father of Eston or any other Hemings child. The DNA study along with historical information, indicates that Randolph is possibly the father of Eston and maybe the others. We do not know. Randolph, named for his maternal Randolph family, was a widower and between wives when shortly after his wife’s death, Sally became pregnant with her first child, Harriet I. It had been almost six years since her arriving at Monticello from Paris, thus, we can see that there was no “long term love affair” between Thomas and Sally. She continued having children until 1808 when Eston was born. Randolph Jefferson would marry his second wife the next year, 1809, and would have a child, John, born about 1810. Three of Sally Hemings’ children, Harriet, Beverly and Eston (the latter two not common names), were given names of the Randolph family who had earlier owned Randolph’s plantation, “Snowden”, and who had received it as his inheritance.
Randolph was invited by Thomas to come to Monticello to visit him and Randolph’s twin sister, who had arrived one day earlier. This was in August 1807, exactly nine months prior to Eston’s birth. Randolph was also present at Monticello on May 27, 1808, exactly six days after Eston’s birth on May 21, 1808. He may have come to see his son, Eston and Thomas even drafted Randolph’s will on that date.
Thomas Jefferson never claimed Sally Hemmings’ children during his lifetime or acknowledged any relationship between them. His children were deeply hurt by the rumors which were put out by a political enemy during his campaign for his second term as President.
James Callender was a reporter for a Richmond newspaper, The Recorder, who became a bitter enemy of Thomas Jefferson after Jefferson refused to appoint him as Postmaster in Richmond. In retaliation, Callender attacked President Jefferson in 1802 with the accusation that he had a child, Tom Woodson, by one of his slaves, Sally Hemings. This accusation has been the source of controversy ever since. Callender has been described by some historians as one of the worst scandalmongers and character assassins in American History. Despite the accusations, Jefferson was reelected to a second term as President of the United States.
This could also be a reason for discouraging the Hemmings descendants from attending the family reunion, though I don’t know. No evidence has been put forward that would fairly label Paula Abeles as a racist. Her chat room prank was by her own admission childish, but then so is trying to crash someone’s family reunion by scamming tickets such as using the names of teenage family members and trying to add your name as a plus one.
Oh someone tried to accuse me of that Thomas Jefferson trope on MyDD. Nice - that must be the talking point dispathced from Obama’s cyber war room. Discredit anybody with some Thomas Jefferson trope. OK.
You are repeating Obama-speak. Politico & Olbermann never even asked her for an explanation. I have heard, from Paula directly, her side of the story re: the Jefferson/Hemmings controversy. Her husband is a Jefferson descendant and a white Hemmings descendant was responsible for the lawsuit, not an AA. Her husband has a foundation that has awarded countless grants to African-American youth in the DC area. Instead of just repeating the slander you read on blogs, why don’t you do some research? And to say she does not sound intelligent is just a lie–she is clear, articulate, and smart.
Here’s the thing: there are millions of us WHO DO NOT WANT OBAMA TO BE PRESIDENT and it has NOTHING TO DO WITH RACE. That excuse and attack line is old and simplistic. We are not interested in an affirmative action president. He is unqualified–period. Keep it up and it will only guarantee his loss in November.
Some corrections:
There was no lawsuit. The white descendants of Eston Hemings (this is the correct spelling) applied for membership in the Association. The benefit of membership is that you can be buried at Monticello. We argued for four years about the issue and invited the Hemings in every meeting over the period. Several other families in prior years with questionable genealogies also applied, were reviewed and rejected without this same privilege.
The Hemings can never sue us. The level of DNA evidence for the Hemings family would never stand up in court. The article in Nature which originally broke this story wrote a retraction the next month because so many of their readers pointed out that Jefferson only had a 4% probability of being the father of Eston Hemings, and even less unlikely at age 64.
When the Hemings saw that they were not going to get what they wanted, they threatened to call us racists. During this period it was a complete media circus. Paulie’s role was to help me understand what they were planning so she had a pseudonym in their chat room. It allowed me to discover that were planning protests for the camera’s and I was able to stop it. They didn’t really care. They still made money off their book deals.
There were hundreds of articles about this worldwide. Oberman picked up one of the early AP stories that caught us unprepared.

I saw Ms. Ables on Cavuto’s show. Cavuto put up a quote from Team Obama stating that they do not “condone” this kind of behavior in their campaign. That line was a classic Obamaism. Note that Obama did not condemn thos terrible behavior. Also, note that Obama did not state how he expected his supporters to act.

approximately 10-12 % of the population is AA.
More like 10% because a lot of the population is in states like MS and georgia which are red states no matter what.
90% of AAs vote democrat. (look up the 2004 election on wikipedia)
that is 9% of the population.
Now by inflaming the race issue, the 9% may go upto 10%. i mean repubs are stupid if they don’t expect it already.
That is 1 % gain.
Now there is a certain percentage of white population is racially biased also. It varies from state to state, but for a state like ohio the figure is about 20-25 %.
That sounds high but the recent primary results and certain basic assumptions can easily deduce a guestimate of the figure.
The racial bias is not uniform. A number of people are only mildly biased. They have had some bad experiences, there is some conditioning by the upbringing and so on. Generally most people with mild bias will make an effort to be fair. They are not all repubs. A racially charged atmosphere can however, heighten the passions and basically just as AAs did during the primaries against the clintons, even the mildly biased whites may vote along the racial lines.
Human beings are human beings, one cannot expect only the AAs be racially motivated, it may be a lot less in the whites but the sheer proportion of the whites in the general population makes this a very large number. Which means that in a racially charged atmosphere the losses will far outstrip the gain of a mere 1 %.
But again the nobamabots are quite rabid and it would be hard to control them, assuming there is some intent to do so, which I doubt.
Once you “cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war” it is hard to call them back.

I saw Paula’s interview with Cavuto. She’s not the only Hillary supporter to report that they were being bombarded with nasty personal attacks. People have been saying this for months — including Fox contributors like Geraldine Ferraro. Yet for some reason, news anchors do not seem to want to believe them. Does anyone here doubt it? Just scan the ‘bots comments on this site and others.
What puzzles me most about Cavuto, though, is that he seems to take the prospect of a Democrat vowing to vote for a Republican candidate as a personal affront. I’ve seen him go after disillusioned Hillary supporters before, telling them their comments sound like sour grapes, etc.

This isn’t a one-sided phenomenon, you know…Hillary supporters have peddled every possible slanderous lie against Obama. They’ve referred to Michelle Obama as a “bitch”, and used the same tone directed to the likes of Donna Brazille, and Nancy Pelosi. Apparently it’s only sexism when you denigrate Hillary. Brazille spoke on the kind of rabid hate mail she’d received from Hillary supporters.I’ve even seen Hillary supporters voice rejoice over the death of Russert.
I condemn all this incivility in the name of politics, and so should everyone else. But it seems Paula Abeles chooses to speak on the venom that comes from what she still perceives as “the other side”, and ignore those that come from her own. She’s exploiting this situation to further slander Obama. Brilliant.
Also, I’d like to ask Paula if she thinks Abraham Lincoln was under-qualified for the presidency in his day.

Yet Democrats can not name a single life achievement, or even a single life experience, which qualifies Obama to be president of the most complex and powerful nation on earth. The man thinks we have 57 states… or so.
For the record, Barack Hussein Obama is a first term U.S. Senator. Obama served only 146 days as a new senator before deciding he was qualified to be president, at which time he largely stopped his duties as senator to campaign for the Oval Office.
Now, where I come from, 146 days of on the job training does not make one an expert on anything. Yet it is Obama’s greatest accomplishment, in terms of qualifications for president.
To call Obama a “freshman” is an overstatement. Political kindergartener would be more appropriate.
Democrats think Obama is a “Uniter”
A “uniter” of whom? A black community organizer, in the tradition of communist radical racial rabble-rousing, yes. A twenty year member of a black activist church, run by overtly anti-American racist pastors, yes. A friend only to anti-capitalism leftists in search of proletariat control of all private resources and assets, yes. Husband of a woman who only became proud of America for the first time in her life, when it became clear that her husband might become the DNC nominee, yes.
But “uniter?” How? He can unite an already united Democratic Socialists of America, which already supports his bid for the White House, since he adopted their political platform lock, stock and barrel, years ago. But who else can he possibly “unite?”
Today, under great political duress, candidate Obama denounces his life-long spiritual leader and his church of twenty years and has even withdrawn his family from that church. But before the nation became familiar with his religion of racism, he described his relationship with Rev. Wright this way…

He’s much more of a sounding board for me to make sure that I am speaking as truthfully about what I believe as possible and that I’m not losing myself in some of the hype and hoopla and stress that’s involved in national politics.”- Uniter? Democrats think Obama knows something about National Security
Yet can anyone list Barack Obama’s national security experience? Does he have military experience? Intelligence gathering experience? What is it on Barack Obama’s empty resume’ which causes Democrat voters to think he knows anything at all about securing a nation of 300 million, or even his own home and family?
There’s no need to belabor this particular point. There is NOTHING in Obama’s past which gives even the slightest indication that he is in any way qualified to be Commander-in-Chief of our armed forces, and responsible for national security. Nothing! And we are a nation currently at war with a nearly invisible international enemy of the most brutal kind.
Democrats think Obama can lower gas prices
Like almost every modern Democrat politician, Obama sees the temporary gas price crisis as only an opportunity to grab more private resources and central power. Democrats are already calling for taxing oil companies into lower gas prices, as if those oil companies will not pass 110% of those taxes down to the consumer in even higher gas prices.
Other more extreme Democrats are skipping right past higher corporate taxes and straight to nationalizing (communist confiscating) the entire oil industry, removing it from the private sector and making it a government owned and operated entity. Energy and Medicine, two things a government should never be allowed to touch…
Obama opposes all efforts to increase domestic production necessary to keep pace with domestic consumption. He supports the idea of penalizing the industry for turning a profit, which translates into improved 401k retirement returns for very average Americans. Yet Democrat voters think Obama will lower gas prices? - Duh!
Democrats think Obama is “charitable”
Like all of their misguided beliefs about Obama, they think this solely on the basis of Obama campaign rhetoric. They call him black because he calls himself black; completely ignoring his mother’s white side of the family, as if they never existed.
I suppose I’m a racist for pointing out that Barack Obama Jr. has chosen to ignore the white half of his family entirely, while writing books about the magnificent influence of a black father who abandoned him at the age of two, only seeing once again at the age of nine, before being raised by his white grandparents in the absence of either parent. So be it!
Democrats love this socialist driven campaign statement, “Focusing your life solely on making a buck shows a certain poverty of ambition. It asks too little of yourself. Because it’s only when you hitch your wagon to something larger than yourself that you realize your true potential.”
But they look the other way when Obama’s personal commitment to “giving” falls far short of the mark.
As reported by the Chicago Tribune, a decidedly liberal Chicago rag, “Giving, service and compassion are recurrent themes on the campaign trail for Sen. Barack Obama, but the Democratic presidential contender has only recently dug deep into his own pockets to support charitable causes.”
The Tribune column makes a very good case concerning Obama’s not-so-charitable past.
“Public attention to charitable gifts has led to uncomfortable moments for prominent political figures. Then-Vice President Al Gore came in for withering ridicule in 1998 when his tax return showed he had contributed just $353 to charity.” (He can probably afford $500 now that he is raking in all that Global Warming carbon credit scam money.)
Aside from a perfect demonstration of just how profitable the get-rich-quick scheme of Democratic politics can be, Obama tax returns shed a bright light on just how un-charitable the Obama family was, before they were under the bright light of national politics.
“In 2002, the year before Obama launched his campaign for U.S. Senate, the Obamas reported income of $259,394, ranking them in the top 2 percent of U.S. households, according to Census Bureau statistics. That year the Obamas claimed $1,050 in deductions for gifts to charity, or 0.4 percent of their income. The average U.S. household [$32,000 income] totaled $1,872 in gifts to charity in 2002, according to the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University.”
My how profitable [greedy] public office can be… “On their just-filed 2006 tax return, Obama and his wife, a hospital administrator, reported taxable income of $983,626 and claimed deductions for $60,307 in charitable donations. In 2005 they earned a combined $1.65 million and gave away about $77,300.”
According to the Center for Philanthropy at Indiana University, even as Obama becomes richer and richer, he continues to give well below the average American.
According to tax returns, the average American household gives 5.9% of income to charity. Throughout Obama’s life, he has given on average only .4% of his income to charity. Even the bright light of public scrutiny has only been able to loosen up the grip on his wallet to 4.7% in 2005 and 6.1% in 2006.
Again, the Obama facts fall well short of Obama rhetoric. Still, Democrat voters believe the rhetoric over the reality.
Obama is Not a Muslim, but rather a Christian
His half brother in Kenya says he was raised Muslim, which should come as no shock to anyone since he is the son of an African Muslim turned atheist father, Barack Obama Sr., who gave him the Muslim middle name Hussein.
His mother was a white atheist from Kansas, who obviously had a thing for black men. After divorcing Obamas father, she married Lolo Soetoro, another East-West Center student from Indonesia, the largest Muslim population in the world.
In 1967, the family moved to Jakarta, where Obama’s half-sister Maya Soetoro-Ng was born, and where Barack Hussein Obama attended schools in Jakarta until the age of ten, where classes were taught in the Indonesian language, until he returned to Hawaii to be raised by his maternal grandparents.
Barack Hussein Obama was indeed raised in the Muslim faith in the largest Muslim population in the world.
But more importantly, both his mother and his father were believers in racism and socialism and that played an even larger roll in the making of the man who became a twenty year follower of the Rev. Wright and a Chicago “community organizer” of the Saul Alinsky sort.
Democrats Continue to Make Fools of Themselves
As three time loser and DNC super-idiot Al Gore steps out from his Global Warming money making machine to re-enter the political arena one more time, endorsing Barack Hussein Obama for president, Democrats from sea to shining sea continue to follow the pied piper of the 2008 election to slaughter, making complete fools of themselves every step of the way.
Now, I understand why they are uncomfortable with having anyone point out just how foolish they are behaving, in their blind cheerleading for the most unqualified individual to ever seek the Oval Office. But at some point, don’t we really have to call it like it is?
As Thomas Jefferson so wisely pointed out, “If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be.”
Even Forest Gump was smart enough to know that people who do stupid things are in fact, stupid.
But the average Democrat voter circa 2008 is obviously unable to distinguish fact from politically motivated fiction and therefore, our nation is at risk of being run by folks foolish enough to think Barack Obama is qualified to be more than a local scout troop leader.
That means it’s up to the rest of America to keep Democrats from harming themselves with sharp objects or voting machines.
Real Democrats like Andrew Jackson, Harry Truman and the real JFK (not Kerry), must be rolling in their graves at what a mindless Democratic party of socialism the DNC has become. My how times have changed, and sadly, not for the better…

Why is it that EVERY SINGLE PERSON I know who has spoken out against Obama is immediately threatened, bullied, insulted, and even have threats made against their lives and their family’s?
No one who speaks out against Hillary is afraid to do so - in fact, they revel in the attention as if it’s a badge of honor, same with McCain. And they aren’t threatened or ridiculed - just debated on policies, but still respected for their opinion.
Yet - say you’re for Hillary and against Obama and immediately, people you once thought you knew will not hesitate in calling you the most vile names you didn’t even know existed. Even to the point of threatening violence towards you.
Obama has not said one thing about this, no one from the DNC has. The media tries to bury it. While the police ignore it. Must we wait till there’s actual blood before someone will finally investigate to see if this is coming from a coordinated group (Chicago is where I would place my bets).
This needs to stop right now. No one should be threatened or harmed for their political views - that is the basis of American freedom.

The Clinton supporters are always asked the question that Hillary was a lot more critical of McCain than Obama. And I think at least some of the responses should be
1. Clinton is a democrat and so it is necessary for her to be critical of McCain
2. Whenever Clinton is critical of Obama, she gets called a racist and dragged through the mud, much like what is happening with Paula.
I am a Hillary supporter and I’ve done a lot of soul searching and truth searching and I will not support a man who is against coverage for birth control, mammograms and equal pay for women. * McCain has changed his economic worldview on multiple occasions.
* McCain has changed his mind about a long-term U.S. military presence in Iraq on multiple occasions.

* McCain’s first mortgage plan was premised on the notion that homeowners facing foreclosure shouldn’t be “rewarded” for acting “irresponsibly.” His second mortgage plan took largely the opposite position.
* McCain vowed, if elected, to balance the federal budget by the end of his first term. Soon after, he decided he would no longer even try to reach that goal.
* In February 2008, McCain reversed course on prohibiting waterboarding.
* McCain used to champion the Law of the Sea convention, even volunteering to testify on the treaty’s behalf before a Senate committee. Now he opposes it.

* McCain criticized TV preacher Jerry Falwell as “an agent of intolerance” in 2002, but then decided to cozy up to the man who said Americans “deserved” the 9/11 attacks.

* On a related note, he said 2005 that he opposed the tax cuts because they were “too tilted to the wealthy.” By 2007, he denied ever having said this, and insisted he opposed the cuts because of increased government spending.
* In 2000, McCain accused Texas businessmen Sam and Charles Wyly of being corrupt, spending “dirty money” to help finance Bush’s presidential campaign. McCain not only filed a complaint against the Wylys for allegedly violating campaign finance law, he also lashed out at them publicly. In April, McCain reached out to the Wylys for support.
* McCain supported a major campaign-finance reform measure that bore his name. In June 2007, he abandoned his own legislation.
* McCain opposed a holiday to honor Martin Luther King, Jr., before he supported it.
* McCain was against presidential candidates campaigning at Bob Jones University before he was for it.
* McCain was anti-ethanol. Now he’s pro-ethanol.
* McCain was both for and against state promotion of the Confederate flag.
* McCain decided in 2000 that he didn’t want anything to do with former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, believing he “would taint the image of the ‘Straight Talk Express.’” Kissinger is now the Honorary Co-Chair for his presidential campaign in New York.
Confronted with the inconsistencies in McCain’s record in March, the senator’s aides told the New York Times that the senator “has evolved rather than switched positions in his 25-year career.” That’s a perfectly sensible spin — when a politician holds one position, and then, for apparently political reasons, decides to embrace the polar opposite position, it’s only natural for his or her aides to say the politician’s position has “evolved.”
But in McCain’s case, the spin is wholly unfulfilling. First, McCain sells himself as a pol who never sways with the wind, and whose willingness to be consistent in the face of pressure is proof of his character. Second, Republicans have spent the last four years or so making policy reversals the single most serious political crime in presidential politics. The dreaded “flip-flop” is, according to the GOP, the latest cardinal sin for someone seeking national office.
And if we’re playing by Republican rules, McCain’s “evolutions” should be a fairly serious problem. I’m beginning to think they might be.
Anger is a road that leads no where… I see so many on this dark road.. it is not a path to follow.. beware its fruits… if you can find peace within yourself.. then you will find it outside… no candidate can do this for you.. no president either..
I have hope that you can all find the peace you need.. the love you want.. and the joy you should have….. have a good day.. and take the rest of it.. and walk away from this negativity….
