Amen to that, Obama has managed to divide this country once again on race. He has managed to do so much damage in such a short time. Imagine how much damage he can do in, God forbid, 4 years. A presidential candidate, most importantly, should be for all the people, not some the people, not DIVIDE the people. Any and all criticism of Obama is racist and/or “old politics.” He deflected everything with that. And his supporters use it at every turn. It’s tired and corrosive. Enough. People want to compare him to these great figures of the past (for which their is no evidence that he is even close in stature). Tell me, did Martin Luther King Jr. whine and cry? He fight for inclusion and equality. Obama’s alignment with Black Liberation Theology is all about being a victim and demonizing “whitey.” He can’t even unite his own party: he doesn’t have time, he has to get on with character assassinations against his next opponent and his supporters.

Title 18 Part I Chapter 33 §713
§713. Use of likeness of the great seal of the United States, the seals of the President and Vice President, the seal of the United States Senate, the seal of the United States House of Representative, and the seal of the United States Congress
(a) Whoever knowingly displays any printed or other likeness of the great seal of the United States, or of the seals of the President or the Vice President of the United States, or the seal of the United States Senate, or the seal of the United States House of Representatives, or the seal of the United States Congress, or any facsimile thereof, in, or in connection with, any advertisement, poster, circular, book, pamphlet, or other publication, public meeting, play, motion picture, telecast, or other production, or on any building, monument, or stationery, for the purpose of conveying, or in a manner reasonably calculated to convey, a false impression of sponsorship or approval by the Government of the United States or by any department, agency, or instrumentality thereof, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than six months, or both.

People who voted for Bush in 2000 at least had the excuse that they didn’t really know what he would be like as president. All they knew was that he was governor of Texas so he had some government administrative experience and was the son of a former president. They didn’t really know of the arrogance, corruption, deceitfulness, power seizing, stupid decision-making, inexperience in foreign and economic affairs, lack of judgement, unaccountability, gaming the system and the American people, etc that would become the mark of the Bush presidency.
Voters don’t have the same excuse in 2008. If anyone’s paying attention at all, these same characteristics and much more are very evident in the candidate Barack Obama…before the vote. The only thing is that somehow this seems to be OK with the MSM, his supporters and the DNC. Barack Obama seems to be the best thing since sliced bread and the savior of our country. I guess the ‘hide your faults in plain sight’ strategy works as long as you mesmerize the public with a corny ‘hope and change’ message.
At this point, I have no idea who I’ll vote for in November. It’s a shame the Democratic Party could not offer a REAL candidate to consider. I guess it will boil down to which one I fear less or not vote at all.

Yeah the Obamaland seal is SO HUGE it makes Obama’s head look really small! No sense of proportion at all. It looks like something from a Saturday Night Live skit. But you can’t make this stuff up. They are becoming unanchored and one sign can be found in the deteriorating aesthetic that surrounds Obama. Not to overanalyze, but their campaign is turning grotesque and people will become physically repelled by this type of visual degradation.
That Latin translation on the seal for “Yes We Can” that looks like “Very Possums” (Vero Possumus) was a nice touch. Maybe E Pluribus Possums (or–”Out of Many, Possums”).
I don’t mean to be flippant. I also find this iconography very disturbing, in its intent as well as in its banal ugliness.
It looks exactly like a SNL sendup of a Karl Rove Presents ta-daaaa-musical-flourish production. Someone with a very interesting sense of humor is at work here.

“Gem” doesn’t begin to describe the brilliance of this voting rights video from March 2007, on so many levels. I wonder what impact Senator Obama’s current implosion has on Senator Lewis, featured in this video, who withdrew his support from Senator Clinton during the primary and transfered it to Senator Obama, months before he became the presumptive nominee. Having worked so closely with Senator Clinton on this voting rights bill, I wonder how he felt when his new candidate agreed to receive not only votes explicitly cast for HRC but which the RBC stole from her to give to him; but also votes explicitly cast for “Undecided” but which the RBC determined should go to him, too. In light of Representative Lewis’ demonstrated history of fighting for voting rights, I cannot imagine how he justifies not speaking up against such massive voter disenfranchisement now.
I think he got subjected to quite a pounding, something for which those who did it should not be easily forgiven.

That logo that looks like Comfort Inn’s is bad enough! And when I first read the word possumus, I–being from the South–thought of possums and how poor black and white folk both ate them a lot. I’m afraid that the new seal and motto remind me of the “Amos ‘N’ Andy” episode where Kingfish and Andy work up a scheme to defraud a hotel by one of them pretending to be the “Punjab of Jabberpore”. All this is very humerus but we should be careful not to dismiss him without action! I was going to write Hillary in at the beginning but that would be just a protest vote. With all the dissension in the party and people either not voting or writing Hillary in, he just might win the election. As I’ve said elsewhere they laughed at Hitler too as a funny little man.
