Barack is not Qualified

Ah, it is “feel the love” day. American Prospect put up a piece by David Weigle with the catchy title, Larry Johnson’s Strange Trip that strongly suggests nobody likes me. The rightwingers hate me (Rush called me a “leftwing hack”) and the “progressives?” They are in full meltdown.

And then I got this email from Cathy in Michigan:

Larry,

I was a big Hillary supporter, but I just don’t understand why the negative stuff about Obama is coming from Dem Hillary supporters:

#1) Obama is ten times better than McCain

#2 The GOP will and is playing the race card (come on you got to face reality)

#3) I still think Obama and Hillary should run together

So where are you coming from? Do you really want McCain to win?

Cathy B.
Lincoln Park, Michigan

Fair questions Cathy, so here’s my answer.

I prefer that neither win. McCain, by virtue of temperament and his decision to put neo-cons in key foreign policy positions in his campaign, worries me. I cannot support him. But compared to Obama, McCain comes across as King Solomon. McCain at least has a history of legislative accomplishment and has demonstrated he can work with the most progressive of Democrats (McCain/Feingold anyone?).

Obama? He has no significant legislative accomplishments. He has claimed credit for things he did not do, but he has not actually put together the coalitions that he talks about in his stump speeches. The man, attractive and articulate, is an empty suit and a lightweight.

The color of Barack’s skin is irrelevant to the question of his qualification. People should not vote for him or against him because he is black. Doing either is racist. Similarly, you should not vote for or against Hillary because she is a woman. Her sex is equally irrelevant. Character and competence ought to be the issue and on both Obama is found wanting.

obama_church_080531_mn.jpgConsider how he has distanced himself from the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, the Reverend James Meeks, and the Reverend Michael Pfleger. [PHOTO: Father Pfleger, Rev. Wright, and Barack Obama.] We know now that these gentlemen espouse the most vile racist and homophobic messages.

Barack now claims he knew nothing about the views of these men. That is bullshit! Here is what Barack told Cathleen Falsani about his religious buddies in a 2004 interview:

GG:
Do you have people in your life that you look to for guidance?

OBAMA:
Well, my pastor is certainly someone who I have an enormous amount of respect for.
I have a number of friends who are ministers. Reverend Meeks is a close friend and colleague of mine in the state Senate. Father Michael Pfleger is a dear friend, and somebody I interact with closely.

GG:
Those two will keep you on your toes.

OBAMA:
And theyr’e good friends. Because both of them are in the public eye, there are ways we can all reflect on what’s happening to each of us in ways that are useful.

I think they can help me, they can appreciate certain specific challenges that I go through as a public figure.

And do you remember when Barack had trouble remembering whether he had heard Wright damn America or say any of the other outrageous crap that he spewed? In fact, Wright denounced the United States in 2001 after the 9-11 attacks. Barack now says he doesn’t remember being at Church when Wright spoke those words. Well guess what? That is not what he told Falsani in 2004:

GG:
Do you still attend Trinity?

OBAMA:
Yep. Every week. 11 oclock service.

Ever been there? Good service.

I actually wrote a book called Dreams from My Father, it’s kind of a meditation on race. There’s a whole chapter on the church in that, and my first visits to Trinity.

But it is not just on matters of faith that he lies and dissembles. As we have documented in this blog over the last two weeks he has changed his tune about his position on FISA, about public financing for presidential campaigns, and about NAFTA.

If Barack had simply taken time to chair a hearing on NATO’s role in Afghanistan or had traveled to Europe to fulfill his duties as chair of the Senate Foreign Relations subcommittee with responsibility for NATO then I would give him the benefit of the doubt that he was trying to prepare himself. But he did not? Why? His words, not mine–he was too busy running for President.

And when it comes to playing the race card, Barack displays the gift of chutzpah. He recently told that Congressional Black Caucus that Hillary Clinton folks spread the rumor that he was a muslim. According to the Telegraph:

He reminded the congressmen and women that he had held his tongue even when Clinton allies had falsely suggested he was a Muslim and when the candidate herself had said he was not ready to be commander-in-chief.

It was not Hillary or her supporters. If anything, it was Barack himself who opened the door to the questions about Islam. He told Falsani:

As I said, we moved to Indonesia. She remarried an Indonesian who wasn’t particularly, he wasn’t a practicing Muslim. I went to a Catholic school in a Muslim country. So I was studying the Bible and catechisms by day, and at night you’d hear the prayer call.

We now know this was a flat out lie. He went to a Muslim school where he learned to recite the Muslim call to prayer. Nicholas Kristoff noted back in March of 2007:

Sorry to give offense to Alabama, but the reality is that Obama’s Muslim connections — his Muslim grandfather, his childhood in Indonesia, his middle name (Hussein), and, yes, his ability to recite the call to prayer — will turn off many voters in red states.

At the CIA we called that “no Shit” analysis. It is Obama’s own comments that raised the issue of his status as a Muslim (or not). That was not Hillary or her supporters. It was Barack himself. Like Nick Kristoff, I could care less if Barack is or was a muslim (I take him at his word that he was not affiliated formally with any religion until he signed up on the Jeremiah Wright Hate Train). What bothers me is he refuses to fully admit that Islam was a part of his life when he lived in Indonesia. He learned the call to prayer but nothing else? Yeah, that is change you can believe in.

Let me close with a terrific video, originating from New England Cable News (NECN), featuring Darragh Murphy. It is worth your time.

Tell them to give Hillary back her entire delegates and take away the ones Obama got for “would be voters” and then you’ll have your Dem to vote for..Otherwise, we are in no mood to hand over to keys to a man who supports his campaign with money from terrorists here and abroad. OKAY?

Comment by Zee | 2008-06-24 23:50:21

AMEN! Give back the delegates.

Why is it not OK for Bush to hijack elections but A-OK for Barack?

Frauds are not legitimate. Period. Why vote for someone they are trying to install?

If that’s not motivation enough to vote for McCain in DROVES, then just resign yourself: you do not love America or democracy. If votes mean so little to you, why whine about those who are voting for McCain? At least we’re not enabling a FRAUD who accepts the votes meant for others.

What else is there? The ends do not justify the means.

“Ronald Reagan, who served as the President of the United States from 1981-1989, despite having only eight years of government experience – three fewer than Obama” so Larry that excuse don’t fly bud. Also as a “liberal” I find it hypocritical that you would even throw that stone. I unlike you heard the whole tapes of Wright because if you had you wouldn’t have thrown that stone either and you know I what? I agree with most of what Wright said as do the people that have heard them and I am not talking about the MSM versions the whole thing Larry start to finish. AHD must be a real bummer for you Larry.
A prayer learned in school! LOL Sorry I can’t say anything the stupid is it burns!
I would say it is over to just move on, but you can’t extract your head so you keep it up bud I am sure FNC will need a fake liberal that gets a chubby from bashing his own sooner or later.

If Rev. Wright’s comments were not wrong or offensive, why did Barack quit the church and denounce his pastor?

Comment by KeepTheChange08 | 2008-06-25 00:02:16

Exactly. Obama is fraught with vulnerabilities and plagued by his own inconsistencies. This “Keep The Change 08″ campaign illustrates precisely that.

Reagan was active in the Republican party and was trying to move the country, as well as his own party in a certain direction. He ran and lost in 1976. Obama is not moving the country or the party in any discernable direction. He is all over the place and CHANGES direction several times per month.

Reagan was also Governor of California during turbulent times of the free speech movement. To some, that counts as experience.

Comment by wry | 2008-06-25 00:26:26

Being a governor of a state like California is different from being a state legislator…where Barky didn’t do anything for his first 6 years in office anyway, by the way.

I thought Hillary criticised him for his “Gas Tax Holiday”, which after experience, he decided was a bad idea.

Obama didn’t do anything his last year as a state legislator either. Emil Jones Jr, even admitted when questioned in a prominent Chicago paper that he, as Senate Majority Leader told the other senators to give their authored legislation to Obama so that he could acrue an actual RECORD. The other senators were ticked off about it, but they did it to be “loyal”…SOUND FAMILIAR?

Well, don’t forget that, in your critiquing of Reagan’s experience, Obama admitted his admiration of Reagan, INCLUDING THE MAN’S POLICIES. NO SELF-RESPECTING DEMOCRAT would, could, or should admire Reagan’s POLICIES on ANY level.
Of course, most of the Obamabots were barely able to walk (if that) when Reagan was in the White House, so they don’t know how bad Reagan was for this country. But if you want to support a flawed candidate who so admires a flawed President (of a different party), go right ahead. Just don’t expect the rest of us to fall for Obama’s bullsh!t.

Obama has NO experience compared to Reagan. And as a life-long Dem, I would vote for Reagan any day over The Radical One, Plastic Jesus, Obamababy, Obamamessiah.

Oh, yeah, what a winning example! The Reagan years….I remember them. That was the last time we had families living out of cars as many are doing again now.

And even putting that aside, you are FOS, Pilsner.

Reagan was a governor. That is a ton more experience than a state senator: especially a state senator such as Barack, who voted “present” half the time and hit wrong buttons —oops!— when he did actually make a vote. Barack did NOTHING as a state senator, either, until the king-makers, at the last minute, GAVE him a slew of bills authored and worked on by others so he’d have a fraudulent resume with which to run for national office.

And take the words of Obama himself when he said he would NOT run for president, because if he did he would have to start IMMEDIATELY —but lo and behold. After ONE year of doing nothing in the Senate, he ran….

Larry is right. Obama did not hold any hearings on NATO’s role in Afghanistan to even attempt to fulfill his duties as chair of the Senate Foreign Relations subcommittee. Obama was too busy to even learn on the job. And when he does attempt to do something, such as protect people from nuclear power plant waste, the nuclear power industry simply BUYS him off and he waters down his own attempted legislation.

And who needs to throw stones? Obama does his own stumbling, flipflopping around on NAFTA, FISA, campaign finance, ad nauseam.

Just face it, “bud” —- you are an ignorant chump.

PILSNER..

There is a long list of reasons why Senator Obama is not qualified to be President or in Control of the United States government and US Military….

Inexperience…combined withPROVEN Poor Performance and PROVEN POOR Judgement are some of the Many differences between Govenor Reagan, a proven Administrator,
and One term senator Obama…

Senator Obama has a very weak background ..that included Extreme Liberal Influences and known Communists, to a drunken and Irresponsible Father..to associations with Corrupt politicians and convicted criminals and known Bombers and Terrorists…

Ronald Reagan was consistent in his Policys..and never associated with Extremists and radicals who hated the American Government and the “White Mans System” and who taught others to think the same Way…

Larry johnson was right about the Bush administration, he was right about the Iraq War
and sdpoke out against it before obama did, Larry Johnson was right about Rove, Cheney, Rumsfeld, the OSP and the outting of Valorie Plame and treatment of Ambassador Joe Wilson..

Rove was part mof a secretivive groups that lied to and misled the american People…

Investigations and court Preceedings are now rapidly proving Larry RIGHT when He stood alone
on Issue after Issue..on BEHALF of the CONSTITUTION and the Rights and Freedoms of the American people…

Larry knows He is not perfect..>He does Not Have a MESSIAH COMPLEX like the double talking Senator Obama..

Larry has been consistent in standing up to the bullies ..and to those in or around the GOVERNMENT who do Not Serve us well…or those who Lie and Misrepresent Themselfs and thier conduct..through propoganda and Deception…

I will stand by a Guy like Larry Johnson, anytime…

He stood up to the Bush administration, and the republicans in his Own Party…all most white caucasian politicians..

Now He is rightfullly saying Senator Clinton is most qualified of the current candidates, and Obama is least qualified for well known Published and stated reasons…and He is being Pushed on the American people through more political manipulation and deception…

Senator Obama has proven through his known and chosen Associations, in his personal and political and Public Life…that he will only Be a MESSIAH to the Likes of Jeremiah Wright and his like minded Black Liberation Cultists…

We Must have a president who Honors the Constitution…and LIBERTY..for All the People of the United states…

The sworn Oath is to Preserve, Protect and defend the Constitution of the United States from All enemys Foreign and DOMESTIC…

Most of Senator.obamas known Friend and associates have publically made it clear in thier speech that they are Enemys of the united States Government..and Subversive in thier ideology…

Senator Obama has proved he cannot be TRUSTED with Control of the United States Government..with a background likem his..

Larry Johnson can be proud that He is more Like JOHN ADAMS for standing on Principal ..even to the point of placing the Welfare of Our Nation ahead of his Reputation and Friendships..

I understand Larry and thank him for being a modern Patriot like John Adams was….in these Dangerous and deceptive times that once again try our Nation.. Threaten its survival and tests the Will of the People ..Now AS then..

To expose Tyrrants, who ever they are…so that they “DON”T TREAD ON US”…

This is not about the “PARTY”..Its about the ‘PEOPLE..’ ALL of the People…

A man can tell me anything….but his actions and my insticts will tell me if He is a liar, a con Man and a Deciever..

Thats what I judge Barack Obama by..His proven actions and my own instincts..

Like Larry Johnson, I keep coming to the same conclusion…

The Illinois State Senate, which Obama was a member of for 7 years, met a grand total of 55 days a year when Obama held office. It was a part time job that works out to one day a week. And in the first five years, Obama didn’t manage to get one piece of legislation signed into law.

Reagan was a moral atrocity but he held a full time job as governor of the most populous state in the union for eight years and did daily battle with a hostile Democratic legislature. Before that, he was president of the Screen Actors Guild – one of the largest unions in the nation.

The two do not have equivalent resumes.

Comment by SergeiRostov | 2008-06-25 02:05:19

Reagan was Gov. of CA back in the 60s, highly active in the Republican Party before (and after) then, and before that period, was highly active back in the 50s and 60s as a pretend liberal in the Democratic party.
Obama, on the other hand, did almost nothing for the first 10 of his 11 years in the IL State Senate, and only accomplished anything due to having been handed dozens of bills to sponsor by Emil Jones(?), bills for which 99% of the work had already been done by other Dem politicians – by that point in time, they really only needed to be introduced – so he didn’t actually do anything of substance there. And since being in the US Senate, he’s only sponsored and passed two bills: One to promote democracy in the Congo, and one to rename a post office.
And as for Wright, I “hope” that the part you and the people you know DON’T agree with is the part about the US being inherently evil…the mere fact that that is is there is, for want of a better word, damning enough.

“Ronald Reagan, who served as the President of the United States from 1981-1989, despite having only eight years of government experience – three fewer than Obama” so Larry that excuse don’t fly bud.’

Are you asserting that St. Ronnie was other than a mediocre man and ReichWing shill? What was the first thing this moron did as President?

That’s right.

Tore off the solar panels Carter had installed on the WH roof and gutted funding for sustainable energy. Diesel hit $5.00/gal in my area today.

Are you intelligent enough to make the connection?

Saying that Obama is equivalent to St. Ronnie in experience is like saying he’s dumber than fuck. Great, great point you made there sir.

And ya know Obamacans are always doing this comparing lil’ Barkey to folks from the past. Curious is it not. For if, as the O-bots assert, lil’ Barkey has a record we could look at that instead of asserting he’s just like….

Che…

or

Thomas Jefferson

or

George Washington

no…no…no… I got it!

Senator Obama is the reincarnation of:

Abraham Lincoln.

Yep, Halleluyah! We is saved!

I believe Mark Twain spoke most eloquently to you, sir, when he said:

It is better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

I think you should know the State Senate in Ill. is a part time job. They meet fifty five days a year. That would be six years to one year as governor. Since Obama served eight years, that is a total of one and a half years in governor time.

What were his responsibilities as compared to a governor? Ronald Reagan managed the budget of the most populous state in the country. We don’t know what Obama managed because he hasn’t released his tax records for those years.

We all heard more than enough from Wright, not only in his sermons, but when he spoke on News Hour and the National Press Club. Forget the sermons and just remember what he said there.

African American children learn with a different part of their brain ( not the logic side )which should be insulting to any AA. Obama says what he says because he is a politician. The American government created the HIV-AIDS virus to commit genocide against Black people. You can Google the rest if you need to.

I could care less about his religion, but if it is a fact he spent his formative years in a radical environment ( if it is a fact his stepfather was radical in his beliefs ) any child psychologist will tell you the ages one through five form the building blocks upon which our entire set of values are based.

Former member of the Party Formerly Known as Democratic.

BTW, Larry, I like you and this forum is the most open and Democratic I have come accross.

No comparison, Ronald Reagen served as Governor of California, elected to run the state. Obama was elected to the state senate and voted present. If I’m looking for a leader I’m looking for someone that leads, and doesn’t avoid the issues. Voting present is a cowards way out.

Great idea! Use Reagan to justify Obama. Bush has implemented Reagan’s policies with a vengeance and it has been a resounding disaster. And his energy “policy” – don’t worry, be happy – undid the successful conservation measures put into place by Carter and put us back on the road to dependency on unstable Middle Eastern states. Then there was his ballooning of the deficit with his irresponsible tax cuts, his widening of the income gap, etc. and his trashing of government in general. Good role model for Obama.

Reagan was the Governor of Califoria, if it was a country instead of a state it would be the 8th largest economy in the world. I don’t think you can compare being the CEO of that State to Obama, who was a part-time State Senator from Chicago, writing letters on behalf of Tony Rezko so Rezko could get Gov’t backed loans for his SLUM PROJECTS, which did end up bankrupt. These were projects in Obama’s district and the Taxpayers picked up the cost of the bad loans, thank you Barack Obama!

2, Stealing another man’s wife under the guise of spiritual marriage conseling?

Have you ever read James Cones books and compared them with Karl Marxes books? If you had you see that Cone lifted verbatim entire passages from Marx. That is NOT religion – connecting to a higher spritual power – it is another gutter ideology – where a few takes from the productive to give to the lazy or power hungry! Far cry from any recognized religion in the world.

Frankly your constant attempts to discredit Larry Johnson as the opposite of the wonderful, courageous, smart, and patriotic person he is disgusts me beyond beliefs.

I agree with ALL the “I Own my Vote” precepts, PUMA precepts, and Denver Group Precepts. But I also have a whote luxary liner full of changes I want to see, before I ever again join forces with you, or any of the Obots – you are simply the 21st century version of Mao’s Red Guard and Hitler youth. People need to think back at what happened to the republican party… They had a similar segment within their party; a group who is fiercely ideological, their right everybody else is wrong, my way or the highway attitudes, take no prisoner mentality… and they were permitted by the mainstream republicans to take control for 20 or so years… It destroyed their party…
The Democrats are in the same boat… So before you run around claiming that you have to support your party even when you know they are wrong and that they have done something wrong…think about how different things would be if people like gingrich, delay, bush, cheney, (I could go on forever) had been stopped by their own party. At least they would be respected. So, how are we going to be looked upon? Larry Johnson’s article about Obama is correct. He is even more unqualified than Bush if that could be possible… At least bush had been a governor. Yeah, obama is more intelligent, and articulate… but his demeanor is parallel to bush’s. His elevated sense of self, his arrogance, his inability to recognize nuances… they are all equally scary things… This is not a man (nor is his wife the woman) who should run the government of the United States. That’s the bottom line.

That to me sounds like the PUMA mentality, who seem to prefer the idea of putting the party out of power if the do not FORCE their way. The difference is their Leader does not actually support them.

Lincoln in his short time in the Illinois legislature was elected by his peers to Whig Party Chairman. He distinguished himself in a short amount of time.

When he was not in elected office, he ran a law firm with a partner and tried 400 cases before the state supreme court. Obama never tried a single case.

Comment by presto | 2008-06-25 00:05:07

The Illinois legislature meets for 55 days a year. It’s a part-time job. Obama’s first full-time job, other than constantly campaigning, was as U.S. Senator in 2004.

Comment by Brendy | 2008-06-25 01:27:14

Comment by Lucinda | 2008-06-25 06:34:44

When Lincoln was president, our population wasn’t even half what it is today. America wasn’t a world power. There were no nuclear weapons. They didn’t even have telephones, yet, so it took a long time for news to reach all the way around the world. Sure, Lincoln is a fair comparison. (Snark!)

Do you recognize a clearly photoshopped photo like the one Larry J is passing off above? Talk about a lack of honesty. Faking a photo to try and tie Obama to Pflager. That’s pretty desperate.

If you don’t think the photo is a fake, look at the shadows, the relative size of each head, and best of all, the fact that Obama is wearing a flag pin – which he only started doing recently. And no, he has not been to the church recently.

Comment by presto | 2008-06-25 00:15:52

You are buying into the bigotry hype.Disagreeing with Obama on his policy positions or his qualifications is very legitimate. Opposing him because you think he is Muslim is not legitimate. In the first place, he is not Muslim. In the second place, it should not matter if he was. We are a diverse nation and we welcome any religion. There are many, many Muslim Americans who are being totally trashed in the course of this election.

Obama has a lot of electability problems. Religion should not be one of them.

My top 10 reasons why I’m not voting for Barrack Obama:

1. His has specious pastors and associates (Rezko, Ayers, Wright, Farakhan, Michelle Obama …).

2. When he’s off the teleprompter and in a debate, he shows no understanding of policy–especially foreign policy and diplomacy.

3. Whenever there is a vote on something difficult, he doesn’t vote or he votes present so he says things but does nothing.

4. His list of achievements can be summed up in one bullet point: getting into office, jobs, and schools on something less than merit and hard work.

5. His demeanor reminds me of Dubya. He is smug, arrogant and when questioned comes off as some one whose entitled to NOT be questioned on anything.

6. He got his house and side yard in a sweet heart deal with his friend Rezko, the felon.

7. He got his two terms in the Il. state legislature by getting his opponents thrown out on technicalities and got the U.S. senate position when his Republican opponent quit when his supposedly sealed divorce records got opened mysteriously.

8. Michigan primary (sic): If he can get pledged delegates by not being on the ballot, then I want some Michigan pledged delegates too. Basically I hate injustice and every thing the RBC and the DNC did to rig the nomination for him falls into that heading.

9. He says he will negotiate with leaders of rogue nations which is just one of the reasons he’s been endorsed by the likes of Kim Jong Il, Khadafi, Hamas, Fidel Castro …

10. HE LIES repeatedly

Also he’s named (as “a politician”) in Rezko’s indictment
and the word on the street is that those who are named (even if only indirectly) as coconspirators in an indictment filed by P. Fitzgerald will be indicted.

why isn’t this discussed more? Obama is named–in terms specific enough for everyone to know exactly who is meant–in Rezko’s indictment. If anything would put that extra kick on the race to the whitehouse it would be knowing you have to get in to head off your own indictment.

The new indictments are for Operation Board Games and that is the scandal thta Obama will go down for. He will probably go to prison. It is beyond belief why we don’t hear anything about this from any MSM. I was hoping FOx would take care of it. They probably want to wait until around August 29th or so. I guess I don’t blame them. If it came out now, the dems would all storm the DNC headquarters (even if it is in chicago now) and draft Hillary for POTUS nominee and then the scandals cease. Well, I am pretty sure that the entire country will know by end of October or so. I think I am going to send Hannity this just in case he doesn’t know and tell him I don’t care when you use it, just use it before it’s too late:

Patrick Fitzgerald is HOT… Anyway, I am able to connect the dots about the TRS trustees. Rezko arranged and Obama supported the appointment of the trustees named/and or indicted. All these particular trustees were Obama contributors and other relations. The Levine connection is established since he rolled over at trial. This fits with the current superceding indictment:

“Individual A had longstanding relationships with TRS trustees, including LEVINE, and TRS staff members and was associated with a real estate asset management firm that managed hundreds of millions of dollars on behalf of TRS.”
However, what is the tie to the real estate asset management firm? Does anyone know?

This hurts my head.

Speaking of Scooter…

The Scooter Libby Legal Defense Trust

Dennis Ross, (advisor to Barack Obama) was a friend of Scooter’s for 25 yrs and was also served with a select coterie on the Advisory Committee of the Scooter Libby Legal Defense Fund, raising the multiple millions needed to assure Scooter would not be convicted.

Is this guy still “advising” Bambi?

Rezko was a small player — he wasn’t an elected politician — so that means Obama’s crimes are WORSE. Obama misused and abused the people’s trust and that makes him far worse than Rezko.

Obama knew exactly what he was doing.

We are still waiting to hear when the discovery case will begin in the trial of clinton vs peter paul – remember, Hillary filing false FCC documents from fundraisers in 2000? she was excused from the trial until after the presidential election, and has now been dropped, but Bill and Chelsea still remain possible witnesses.
and I will remind you of the other ’shady’ characters from the clinton era and post-clinton: Norman Hsu, Johnny Chung, charlie Trie, Frank Giustra, Ray Jrinnah…et al. Not a word on any of these characters throughout the primary campaign season. But then again 1/2 of these people are now serving time.

One good thing is that Bill won’t have to resign from Yucaipa now, his earnings and where they come from won’t be under such scrutiny as had Hillary been the presidential nominee.

Comment by MessyMarcy | 2008-06-25 00:58:29

You have made so many false statements in your comment that you must be mainlining the Kool-aid.

It must be terrible for Obama and his groupies to see his chances to be elected grow dimmer by the day, especially since he went to all that trouble of stealing the nomination. But look at the bright side — at least he won’t embarrass himself by actually having to fake his way through a term of being President.

And the most humiliating thing of all for him must be to have to send out all those whiny letters begging for money from old white women. Where is his pride?

http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/crooked_claims_about_clinton.html

If you really want the truth. This is a civil suit brought by Paul and some of the other people named in the suit:former President Bill Clinton and Jim Levin, Chelsea Clinton, former Vice President Al Gore, Gov. Ed Rendell, Gray Davis, Howard Wolfson, Kelly Craighead, Andrew Grossman, Patti Solis Doyle, Larry King, Barbra Streisand, Cher, Diana Ross, John Travolta, Brad Pitt, Stan Lee, Haim Saban, and many others.

Paul was assisted, for a while, by Judicial Watch, which in case you didn’t know is the conservative version of moveon.org, and even they have bailed. Sean Hannity, conservative, doesn’t believe him either.

Peter Paul is a nut case and it sickens me more than I can express for a so called Democrat (if that’s what you are) to be so pathetic you would be willing to go along with that because you don’t know enough about your cantidate to defend him and are reduced to this kind of garbage.

1) Obama praised Reagan and trashed Bill in the same sentence.
2) Used Republican attacks (Harry & Louise ad) against Hillary’s universal health care plan.
3) Obama winked to Canada about NAFTA, then attacked Hillary and President Clinton on NAFTA, got caught winking and lied (repeatedly).
4) Surprise, surprise, Obama flip flopped on NAFTA.
5) Obama flip flopped on public financing.
6) Obama flip flopped on FISA.
7) Obama attacked Hillary relentless about her Iraq resolution vote and is now…
8) you guessed it, changing his tune about withdrawal from Iraq.
9) Obama is disrespectful of Hillary (”claws” “likable enough”) and dismissive of women (”sweetie” “get over it”), etc. (i.e. he is a sexist).
10) Obama is disrespectful of Bill and tried to frame the Clintons as racists.

I really could go on, but I don’t want to hijack Larry’s thread.

Comment by MessyMarcy | 2008-06-25 01:12:49

Obama has a long history of lying in order to try to claim credit for the work of others. John McCain, as someone who has actually served in the military and as someone who actually puts their money where their mouth is when it comes to working for issues which are important, will be a much better President than someone who just makes promises he never keeps.

By this time, surely no one takes anything Obama says seriously.

Issues is what I cared about before Obama’s character came into full view. Obama does not have a fire in his belly towards any issue. The only fire in his belly is to move to a higher office. We can look at any politician, like Hillary, who’s worked for years to get some kind of health care for Americans. Obama, if elected, will be like Bush. Obama will be told what to do and when to do it by people we don’t know. I will not have another president like Bush, even if he is a Democrat. Issues are not enough any more. The man is more important, and Obama is 100 percent unacceptable. There is a Zen saying that goes something like this: The wrong man, with the right methods will bring the wrong result. The right man with the wrong methods will bring the right results. If someone had told me that I would be voting for McCain in January 2008, I would have laughed. It’s no longer about issues, but the person behind the issues.

I just don’t know how you even begin to think about “the issues” when you sincerely believe the candidate doesn’t have the character, judgment or experience to hold the office.

To me, Obama is over-the-top ambitious, self-serving and politically calculating. His enthusiastic embrace of the old-style Chicago political machine to advance his career belies every promise of “hope” and “change” he has ever made. With each passing day, he looks more and more like that worst of political creatures–the one who will do or say anything to get elected. NAFTA, FISA, public financing. “Reintroducing” himself to the voters. If you want a window into his character–or lack thereof–read Tuesday’s NYT article about his treatment of the Muslim community. I don’t know what his core beliefs are, or if he even has any. I don’t trust him, and I don’t want him leading the country. Period. So his positions on the issues–such as they are (and they are sure to last only as long as they are politically expedient)–are completely irrelevant.

Since obama does NOT espouse any of these issues, (who knows WHAT he espouses?!), then I would NEVER vote for him. Period! I also could quote Hillary when she said ‘he has NO experience other than a speech in 2002, he is unprepared and inexperienced, his health care plan leaves out 15 mill, ‘who would you want to answer that 3 am call in the WH?’…. Need I go on????????

Stop being naive. Hillary is a Dem who the party has shit on but she is a person of character and commitment. She also knows that she must go along with the idiots or else, politics being how it is, she will get no cooperation later on. Read between the lines…. Vote with YOUR brain….

Yeah, I have read that entire interview and I am thinking ole Obama boys club must have forgotten about that article. He had glowing things to say for his group of faith mentors but then that was before he threw them under the bus…….

I also read the article that person wrote about you and they are just pissed off because you want to know the truth about their beloved.

I remember 8 months ago getting my posts deleted from the dnc when I was asking them to vet Obama and was dismissed many times when I called the dnc about the PLO connection with Obama.

Idiots – they will find out the truth and it will be too late.

I read this post at another site. I think it says it all…In light of so much that has been said and so many broken promises. In light of Barack playing the race card first and not simply responding to a comment. In fact he wants us to feel as if any negative comments about him are off limits, that everyone should be afraid of being called racist if we criticize him in anyway. What about those of us who are African American and criticize him, we will they call us “traitors”. I for one do not think that Barack is the one we have been waiting for whatsoever. In fact he is a fraud, an empty suit indeed. And quiet frankly, if I were to fall into the trap of identity politics, Barack may be my “skin folks” but not my “kin folks”. I don’t think Barck gives a dam the African American community or anyone else for that matter. I think Barack cares for Barack and his personal ambitions.

I suspect that if he thought he could win the majority of “Right Wing Voters”, he would have no problem getting to the right of John McCain and championing the cause of George “I Fucked Up” Bush. In any case I think this post lifted from another site says it all.

“Judged by the content of their character. What a concept that is, when at the time, so many were judged by the color of their skin, the region they came from or the god that they worshiped, should not be judged by these things, but by their character.

And so we have arrived at today, having been through tumult, asassinations, riots and slow but positive growth, to a point where African Americans are elected by solid majorities to office in the south, where the bastions of hatred have been ground down, but unfortunately, where there are also those who would keep the races apart (Jessie, Al, are you reading this?) and those who depend on anger and hostility to keep their names in light.

We have had African Americans as Secretary of State, as Generals and Admirals, as Presidents of large Corporations, and now, a black American is running for President of the United States and it looks like he will get the nomination from the Democrat Party. Yet, in my opinion, the content of their character is still important.

Barack Obama proclaimed he would pull out of Iraq immediately, and now he says he won’t. He said that he would be using public financing for his race, and now he won’t. He has said that NAFTA was anathema, and now all of a sudden, it isn’t. He has attended a church where some of the most vile racist comments made from a pulpit have rung forth, and now he says that wasn’t the Jeremiah Wright he knew. He has associated with, and benefited from associations with an admitted but unconvicted urban terrorist. He has manipulated opposition off of the ballot in order to win elections. And he has said, in spite of no one making this association BUT him, that the opposition will play the race card.

The content of his character has been weighed. And has been found wanting!”

This is what I want to know, too. Why if he is The ONE. and Hillary is SO DIVISIVE and RACIST. Why on earth would he have her campaign for him. Why does he need her?

Comment by Elizabeth | 2008-06-25 00:27:24

He ruined the Clintons???? OMG….what horse…! Quite the contrary….remember?? Bill totally dismissed Obama as another Black candidate like Jesse Jackson, who could win in South Carolina but will lose the election. Hillary said he did not pass the commander in chief test, she and mccain had the experience, Obama did not. Bill said Obama and his people were at fault for getting the media to slam Hillary. Obama was accused by Hillary and her supporters of absolutely EVERYTHING – giving her the finger, slinging sexist remarks (totally taken out of context as were Michelle’s) – I could go on,. Get off this ‘poor’ Hillary she is so damaged by this sexist country bandwagon, its so disengenuous. Obama stole votes…give me a break. Hillary did NOTHING about MI and FL until she was losing….period. Hillary lost the nomination due to an inferior campaign.

Comment by MessyMarcy | 2008-06-25 01:26:58

You must be the only person in America still chanting the lie Obama spread accusing the Clintons of being racist. This, of all the lies he has told, shows what a morally bankrupt charlatan Obama is.

And Hillary did not lose the campaign — she won going away. But thanks to the machinations of Dean and his little group of losers, Obama was able to steal the nomination. Now they will be remembered as the group who destroyed the Democratic Party, and Obama will take his rightful place with McGovern, Gore, Kerry, Dean and all the others who couldn’t get elected. They at least can console themselves that they ran a clean campaign when they ran, not like the sleazy one they have helped Obama with.

Obama’s candidacy is doing more than the Republicans could have hoped for; he may even end up making George W. Bush look good.

McCain ‘08. Hillary ‘12. Obama never.

Comment by Lucinda | 2008-06-25 06:52:13

And why in the world did I hear him say on television last night that he “needed President Clinton to campaign for him”? According to the MSMBO, (repeatedly saying ad nauseum) Bill hurt Hillary’s campaign and was one of the reasons she lost. Hypocrites, every one of them.

I could not read the entire thing. It was pathetic. I quit reading when Weigel quoted Larry exclaiming about MoveOn.

Uh….YEAH, what Larry said. Is Weigel STUPID or just intellectually DISHONEST?

MoveOn *did* shit on Hillary, who voted against censuring them, while moronically endorsing Obama, who in typical lazy or cowardly fashion, skipped the vote.

Once Weigel left that part out, he basically destroyed his own screed.

After the NBA All-Star Game, we find in Las Vegas verrrrry little support for an encore in our town. The, “urban,” crowd were rude, loud, bitched about everything in sight and had fish hooks in their pockets…ie, they didn’t tip.

In fact, Englishmen and Aussies tip better than the Urban Athlete crowd, and don’t refer to everything from you to a cigarette butt as, “motherfucker.”

PacMan Jones and his impulse control – challenged posse of mental pygmies left a local man a quadruplegic for life after showing their asses in a strip club and waving guns around, all the while engendering massive sympathy for Jones, whose continuing presence (along with Orenthal) on this continent argues against the existence of a just and merciful god.

Poor PacMan. Nasty old Imus was actually kissing his ass, but now Don will have to get his Klan robe cleaned.

And all the while, the Mayor of Las Vegas, the King of the Jock Sniffers, wants an NBA franchise so that he can be the honcho of a “world class” city.

Another fucktard in cleats runs around the town, sprating champagne on his fellow patrons in these $500/head Ultra lounges, all the while flashing $100,000 worth of “bling.”

Seems a couple of middle Eastern types induced him to join them in their car for – whatever – drugs? whores? – and left his sorry ass in a neighborhood where even LVMPD SWAT cops only go into in daylight, in pairs, with the shit knocked out of him and a LARGE volume of his blood on the pavement.

Poor baby! Cain’t a brotha wear $100,000 worth of bling at 0400 without some camel jockeys goin’ Racist on him?

Uh, excuse me, but the Moulin Rouge isn’t coming back, Sparky, so why not go spend your money in Phoenix or San Francisco or even Toronto, where you’ll be, um, “exotic?”

Oh, you’re aftaird the Jamaican posses in Toronto will straighten you out?

Comment by fran | 2008-06-24 21:18:47

Which Talking Points Memo is that from? #322?

Boring and repetitive comments that are disproven many times over. Hillary is a profoundly accomplished public servant with almost 40 years of experience. Do some research. She was implementing micro-loans in rural Arkansas 30 years ago, helping to raise the standard of living by 75% The pioneer of these loans, Yunnus (a Hungarian economist) received the Noble Peace Prize for this work just a couple years ago. Hillary knew about his work and REALIZED IT’S PROMISE 30 years ago. THAT is a visionary leader.

And BTW: (again with the research) Obama’s stint in the State Senate was A PART-TIME JOB. I think he served a total of approx. 60 days a year. And then 1 year in the Senate before he decided he was ready to rule the world.

And Abe Lincoln. Pleeeaaaase. He had decades of experience on Obama in a completely different era. And Obama “ain’t no Lincoln.” All this fantasy about a shallow man: Lincoln, JFK, RFK, MLK Jr. He isn’t a fraction of these men. That is apparent in the way he has run this primary–with very little character or strength. He was stumbling and fumbling all over the place by the end. Hillary made him look like the lightweight that he is.

The reason his dimwits want him to be another JFK, RFK, MLK or Lincoln is because he has no real identity of his own. Just a wannabe.

In fact, should he be selected as the nominee, no matter who is next to him he comes across as Junior. It’ll be hard to find someone for his VP who would not look more presidential than he. Can you imagine? There are actually people who want Gore to come on board as Junior’s VP! While she sat on the board of directors for Wallmart, she pushed the same agenda she has pushed for all her life. To improve the working condition for minorities, promotions for women and minorities and increase salaries for women and minorities.

She never opposed unions, but she had to work for realistic goals in an unfriendlw atmosphere. Obama tried that argument in a debate which I remember clearly because, in return, she asked about his slumlord friend Rezko.

It was the first time I had heard his name, although it was clear CNN knew exactly who he was and like the rest of the media, had never mentioned him. I was interested and did some research on my own and it was soooooo easy. Wonder why the press never brought that up?

Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, Oct. 6, 2007: The children’s health program wouldn’t be in existence today if we didn’t have Hillary pushing for it from the other end of Pennsylvania Avenue.

She wrote and sponsored Heroes At Home Act of 2006 and presented it without cosponsors. This bill was referred back to committee with no action. However, as you can see, she proposed amendments from this bill which were adopted in a second bill to offer health care for National Guard members who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Washington, DC – The Senate Armed Services Committee today approved a series of amendments offered by Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) to strengthen the committee’s bill to address problems facing our wounded servicemembers. The Dignified Treatment of Wounded Warriors Act was approved today by the Senate Armed Services Committee and will now go to the Senate floor for consideration by the full Senate. A cosponsor of the legislation, Senator Clinton had succeeded in including a number of provisions in the bill from her Heroes at Home Act of 2007, Bridging the Gap for Wounded Warriors Act and Restoring Disability Benefits for Injured and Wounded Warriors Act, among others.

Since you are from NY you probably already know most of the money Hillary asked for was to help 9/11 rescue workers who became ill after breathing this toxic air and to families of those who have died as a result.

I have long wondered why Obama supporters bring up Abraham Lincoln when talking about Obama.

Lo and behold, the NYT Magazine article about Axelrod titled Obamas Narrator 4/1/07

His bookshelves are filled with Abe Lincoln biographies, but what he says he admires about Lincoln isn’t just his philosophy but his political effectiveness, the Great Emancipator’s secret shiv.

Someday an Obama supporter may come through here will a thought of their own but I don’t think the chances are high.

Comment by Fred C. Dobbs | 2008-06-24 22:47:39

You mean the Lincoln who emancipated slaves who were residing in a country of which he was NOT President at the time?

Who suspended habeas corpus and locked up his political opponents?

And, … (drum roll) … NEVER promised ANYONE Forty Acres and a Mule?
That Lincoln?

Suggest you play your, “Hair,” soundtrack album again and listen to the lyrics…

Obama supporters bringing up Abraham Lincoln when talking about Obama, is like Bush supporters bringing up Winston Churchill when talking about Bush.
Both comparisons ars absurd.

The Lincoln meme did not come from the Obama campaign at all.

It came from the Dean campaigns obsession with Dean as the second coming of Lincoln, particulary re race. The Lincoln aspect was present long before Dean’s campaign, along with the mantra, was handed over to Obama.

Then when Dean lost out, his campaign was quite perturbed to hear Kerry characterized as Lincolnesque, strictly from an appearance standpoint.

The Dean folks never gave up, vowed revenge, regrouped, keeping their focus on Lincoln and race as the key to any winning campaign.

Dean chronicler Dana Dunnan Dunnan points all of this out in his book “Burning at the Grassroots”(2004) He starts the book with the phrase “Lincoln must come again.”.
http://burningatthegrassroots.com/

He later talks about finding a “Lincoln” (apparently Dean), then later talks about Kerry being compared to Lincoln stature wise. As stated earlier Lincoln seemed to be an obsessive image for the campaign.

In a later added footnote, the author says that Lincoln may have come again from Illinois, as Barack Obama. He held a book signing for Obama’s 2004 Senate campaign.

Obama’s Us Senate race was never meant to make him “a sitting Senator”, as he has not been. The Senate was just a short pause in the quest “the machine” started mapping out for him in 2004. When Dean lost, the new search for their “Lincoln” began.

They found him quickly, having “discovered” him at the convention. They adopted him, and handed him the Dean/MoveOn/Soros Machine, lock stock and barrel, through Axelrod.

Obama, despite all of the proclaiming, has never had “to oraganize “anything. It was a gift. http://burningatthegrassroots.com/barack.php

Hence, the Lincoln drumbeat continues.

I live in Illinois, the State Senate is a Part time position. Most who serve, either work for another goverment agency part time or practice law, but with the benefits they get, it’s a good gig! They raised the base to $85K a couple of years ago. So in total he has 3 years in state goverment.

Well, did you know that Lincoln actually had a cause that he was fighting for and was willing to debate Stephen A. Douglas one-on-one in the Lincoln-Douglas debate?

Lincoln was also an excellent lawyer. He actually had cases.

Contrast that with Obama. “We’ve already had 2 debates. I’m tired!”

I don’t think Obama can hold half a candle to Abraham Lincoln.

You dumb ass- do not DARE compare Obama with Lincoln. He fricken ran and won the Civil War. Limcoln was a Captain in the Black Hawk War. He actually defended his country, when poor Obama (at Lincoln’s age) had to attend violent Harvard with all of those scary people.

Let’s see… Only President of Harvard LR never to have written an article or defending America against the enemy?

I guess Obama is skilled at resume building while Lincoln was skilled at nation building. But, you are right- “not as much political experience.”

Comment by MessyMarcy | 2008-06-25 02:56:18

Obama has more years in elected office than Hillary Clinton

You should rethink using that argument (unless you’re really for McCain), considering how little Obama accomplished in office and how much Clinton has to her credit.

He has more political experience than a number of presidents, including one of the greatest, Abraham Lincoln.

Obama is to Lincoln as Clarence Thomas is to Thurgood Marshall. You should be embarrassed to mention them in the same sentence. And as someone else pointed out, Lincoln is known as “Honest Abe,” not nomination-stealing Abe.

We don’t need a man to try and win based on race baiting and fear. NO Obama! UNsure need more knowledge? What are the beliefs of Obama’s career launching friends? How do they relate to society and how much of an impact have they had on the Chicago Senator? It is my goal to encourage a conversation about these friends that are known terrorists. Thank you for this article. Well stated.

Certainly, I will never support this seriously flawed and dishonest candidate.

I dearly wish that Senator Obama’s supporters would stop believing the media hype and his hype and do their own research. Dig a little for the truth of the story — which is that he was propped up by Republican money, and others (like George Soros) with their own agenda — these people should not have any influence on our nominating process.

This man is a manchurian candidate and I find it genuinely frightening that someone with this thin a resume and 20 years of crooked and nefarious associations, who is lost when he is not on a teleprompter, could be elected Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces and leader of the free world — a post he is honestly not prepared for nor one that he is trustworthy enough to occupy.

Dear Lord, would these people please do their homework and look into this guy. Why do you think MSNBC has been pandering for him? They are owned by GE who does business with Iran and he is much more Iran-friendly than Senator Clinton.

Big business wants him and not her — do you think that’s good news for the American people — or do you think that means they know he will cave in to big business and not be an advocate for us.

Forget about ironing shirts. Smart women discovered drip dry a long time ago. As for caring about the issues, you bet we do. And we’re not entrusting them to Barack Obama. And since the real Democratic Party (the one I’ve known for over 50 years) has all but disappeared, and has become the Democratic Party in Exile, living as loudly as we can on blogs until Election Day, we can say we are staying with the real spirit of the Democratic Party. You won’t find us at the new DNC H.Q. in Chicago. We are not on Howard Dean’s leash. Hillary has got to do what she has to do and we trust her to handle this situation. Meanwhile, we wait until the convention … and then we vote. And we cast our votes in such a way as to keep Barack Obama out of the office of POTUS.

Thank you Larry for articulating so clearly why millions of us will never vote for BO.

The burden of responsibility falls on every individual to vote for the most qualified, honest, hardworking and proven candidate. BO is not that and while he has successfully seduced the gullible, he will not become president.

Comment by PA_Voter | 2008-06-24 21:14:17

Let’s simply go back to the title of the article…. Obama is NOT qualified and I agree with this assessment. I would just add a few more of his dangerous long-term associations, such as Ayers, Dohrn, Rezko to the list… These are all people I don’t want to see even visiting the White House. If Hillary is not the nominee, I will have to support McCain in November. Having been a Dem for 30 years, I’ll be an Independent come November…. The DNC/DP just does not represent me anymore.

Comment by Susan Nunes | 2008-06-24 21:17:08

The biggest problem with Obama is that he cannot be trusted to uphold Democratic Party principles. I believe he is little more than a ringer to begin with, and even if he were elected, the fact he has surrounded himself with libertarian-style economists and neo-con foreign policy experts would mean the country would be in real danger of losing things many people rely on, such as Social Security and Medicare. The fact he calls himself a Democrat could persuade others in the party to carry out policies no Republican would DARE do.

The guy cannot be president. It is almost preferable for McCain to get in there with a Democratic congress.

Comment by Zee | 2008-06-25 00:33:54

Comment by Nicole | 2008-06-24 21:27:00

I agree with your metaphor, but one simple correction (cause, I remember vaguely wanting one but not being able to afford it): the pet-rock was a 6-month fad of the 1970s (1975 to be exact), not the 1980s. It was followed, very briefly, by the square-egg-maker fad (a fad that lasted about two weeks).

Larry, What an articulate and cogent post.
I’m with you point by point.

Hillary was clearly fighting for others, her final 90 days were the right stuff, and a beautiful thing to see. She never stayed down, and even went to keep a promise to speak at a volunteer’s graduation, long after the camera’s had left.

Obama struggles to better himself, and pretends to throw his problematic relationships under the bus.

We all use that euphanisum, but it means he abandons his friends.

These two traits could not possibly be further apart in how to handle the difficult obligations that may be unpleasant.

Perhaps Courage sums up my point.

I can’t support 0bie cause he does not stand for anything.

Comment by zerostress | 2008-06-25 10:15:36

Which “cousins” ?

Raila Odinga

“Barack Obama’s uncle has denied Odinga’s claim that the two men are directly related, saying: “Odinga’s mother came from this area, so it is normal for us to talk about cousins. But he is not a blood relative.” Even if Raila Odinga and Barack Obama were in fact distant relatives, their connection would merely be a genetic one — the two men have no history of any substantive form of familial relationship.”

Snopes

Nicholas Rajula

“Of course, what that relationship is, exactly, is less than clear. Mr. Rajula claims to be a distant cousin of Senator Barack Obama, an assertion that has become a cornerstone of his campaign here in western Kenya. Mr. Obama’s presidential campaign denies that the men are related, saying their only connection is geographic: Mr. Rajula and Mr. Obama’s father are from the same village.”

Except that he didn’t really ask them to retire her debt. What he said was he asked his contributors to help if “they were so inclined” and there is also the little detail about hers being maxed out and her asking them to contribute to Obama. It is a quid pro quo, not charity.

I’ve been giving a lot of thought to the event in Unity. The last time she faced down his supporters was at the Jefferson Day dinner in North Carolina where they were so loud with their boos, she couldn’t be heard.

Now, what I’m wondering is if they will split the crowd up fifty/fifty or if it will be hunderd percent Hillary or a hundred percent Obama? How will he be able to make his children behave after telling them for months she is the devil’s daughter. It’s a real conumdrum, isn’t it?

As far as the issues go, let me see. This week he has gone back on public financing, gone back on his opposition to FISA, got the “presidential seal” put up and removed and pissed off moveon.org. What a week.

To Cathy in Michigan from Ijane in Michigan…Today volunteers for Gary Peters,Michigan(D)running against Rep. Knollenberg (R)this Nov.,came to my door to talk about “our” Democratic candidate. I let them know that I’ve been going to Carl Levin’s campaign fundraisers ever since he was on the Detroit city Council but this year I’m voting a straight Republican ticket. Michigan politicians have to learn that they’re not going to get away with fixing the primary. The DNC has to learn that they’re not going to get away with fixing the primary. Barack Obama is hardly qualified to be President of the United States and the idea that Howard Dean and his gang of corrupt thugs imploding on Nov. 5 after Barack loses sends a tingle up my leg!

In addition to everything you’ve all listed, another reason NOT to vote for OBiwonBOBO is because his campaign, in concert with the rest of the DNC – led by Donna Brazile, have declared that “we” the Hillary demographic, are not part of THEIR new Democratic coalition.

So essentially we’ve been kicked to the curb by the party. WTF? and we’re going to come crawling back? KMA!

Good luck with that Obama worshippers.

Comment by believe | 2008-06-24 21:33:08

That’s not what Donna Brazille said. She said that the Dems need to go beyond the coalition, to expand it.

Comment by stateofdisbelief | 2008-06-24 21:36:07

Uh…one youtube does not tell the whole story. Ms. Brazile’s FA@@ was all over CNN and did in fact say that they (the Dems) had basically written off that demographic anyway and that the “new” Democratic party was this younger, more urban party.

We’re note stupid…now go change your underoos I think you made a doodee in your pants. It’s starting to smell bad.

Comment by catherine | 2008-06-24 21:42:33

believe…please take your feeble attempts at riding the unity pony side-saddle and go away. Donna #$#@)*& Brazile told us to hit the road and not let the door hit us on the a#$ on the way out. And while you’re at it, when you graduate high school, take a Statistics class and at least learn the basics about polling before blathering on about this poll or that poll.

Comment by Northwest rain | 2008-06-25 00:16:17

Statistics isn’t taught in high school — and it should be. Statistics isn’t that tough — and comprehension of Statistics should be a REQUIRED course for everyone!

Simple things like — MARGIN OF ERROR.

Like when two poll numbers are really really close — like 45 & 43 and the margin of error is 4 % — That is a statistical tie — because of the margin of error.

Then you look at the history of the polling company — how often are these jokers correct? Zogby is a joke — that is a hint to ignore this yoyo dummy.

Right now the polling companies have no idea how to poll for the new demographics — they have no idea how many democratic voters have left the party — or just who these voters are. Partly because a whole lot of voters are refusing to be polled.

Basically I believe that the only polling that counts were the final primaries — where people really got to see the real Obama. Those are the results which tell me that when people get into the voting booth in November they are going to remember that they are Americans and they will do what is best for this country.

That means West Virginia will again vote for the winner.

If he was born in the US then he is an American — but with no actual proof like a valid Birth Certificate — well we don’t know.

Is Obama even American? Good question –

I don’t care about his race or his religion — but is he Constitutionally eligible to BE the President?

What ELSE is Obama hiding????

Comment by Annie Oakley | 2008-06-24 21:41:25

That’s some pretty damning stuff. The Opossum has, once again, been caught lying his, er, face off. As if his religious practice wasn’t already a fair-game issue, he has lied about it with the assurance of one who doesn’t expect to be called on it. Thanks for calling him on it.

The things that reveal character are important. Laughing about his flip-flops and the people thrown under the bus no longer does justice to what we have learned, thanks to places like NQ, about Obama. I don’t think he will make a good president. I think the country is making a mistake as big as the one they made when they let another candidate of questionable character win by questionable means. I still hope that Hillary will be the Democrat’s choice.

Boy, are they really having to do contortions to defend Obama! She’ll probably say she is happy that he is both for and against campaign financing and NAFTA because it proves he can reach across the aisle (in both directions).

Comment by candymarl | 2008-06-24 21:50:18

Well today Obama IS for NAFTA, FISA, AND PRIVATE CAMPAIGN FINANCING. Things he was AGAINST before.

He was FOR talking to IRAN before he was AGAINST it and now would NOT rule out military action against IRAN.

He’s even floated the idea of Social Security privatization and “fixing” Medicare.

He’s stated publicly that’s he’s not that far from President Bush in his view of the Iraq war.

As for a Republican using Obama to win – well that should tell you something. How liberal could he really be if a Republican is using him and his positions as talking points? I thought everyone wanted a real “progressive” this time? One of the major criticisms of Hillary by “progressives” was that she was admired by Republicans. But Obama if is admired by them that’s ok.

Don’t worry about the NAFTA, FISA, and CAMPAIGN FINANCE things though. If there’s enough heat he’ll switch back to his original positions. Then he’ll blame McCain again for making him do so.

And exactly what did Barack Obama accomplish in his lo-o-o-ng political career? How many people did he help, change for the better in real world terms? What programs did he initiate, work on, fight for and push into existence?

God [or depending on your point of view] the devil is in the details.

Forget all the platitudes, the erroneous “great men” comparisons, the fact that he gave a single speech saying he was against the Iraq War, forget how he’s wiggled and flipflopped on every position he claims he held yesterday or the day before–what extraordinary thing has Barack Obama accomplished, what record has he written and acted on that we, with our votes, should hand this man the keys to the White House?

Stuck? Yeah, me too. And this is why regardless of how many makeovers, how many outreaches he and his staff may make, he will never get my vote!

He was never in HRC’s league and John McCain looks like a Knight of the Round Table in comparison.

“He spent two years in solitary confinement, suffered from dysentery and even tried to commit suicide by hanging himself with his own shirt.

In 1968, the Vietnamese broke off many of his teeth at the gum and tortured him for hours on end. They offered him early release, knowing his value as an admirals son, but he refused, saying others had been held captive longer.” Source Daily Mail, February 1, 2008

okay here are the details:
Unity NH, Unity Elementary School, 6/27/08, 12:00
Unity is right off of I91 which makes it a reasonable trip from Springfield MA, Boston Ma, Hartford CT, Albany NY, and of course parts of NH and VT. You can map quest it and simply put in Unity Elementary School in place of “business” Unity is a town of only 1,700 so I doubt that there will be a crowd of 10,000. A couple hundred Puma’s would make the news and the place will be crawling with national media because this the first appearance of Hillary and Obama together. If only handful of us show up it will be dismissed, no doubt, as those disgruntled people, but if a few hundred show up……….
So who’s up for this? Bring a pair of flip flops.

pelosi and reed have accomplished nothing, absolutely nothing. Weak and spineless.
I gave Hillary a chance, but she is now about party over country. She missed an opportunity to really make a statement and say “I am a democrat, but before that, an American. And I cannot support this man. And that is why, I am endorsing Senator McCain”.

That is why I am no longer a democrat. Trolls don’t get it.
This isn’t the USSR, where party was before all else. We’re Americans, and that is supposed to mean something. In my mind it still does. I don’t care what some 15 year old says in a blog, call me racist, call me what you want, I could no sooner vote for Barack Obama than Louis Farrakhan. i wish there was a qualified black candidate that I could support, but at this time, none has come forward. This is a great post below…There are so many great lines especially about the presidential seal, but I pulled this one out to share.

http://tominpaine.blogspot.com/
….adding Muslim women to the list of all the other women he’s insulted, making statements about Jerusalem, the thorniest problem in the Middle East and then reversing himself within 24 hours angering Israelis, American Jews and Palestinians who all are now united in thinking that he is an idiot……

My manager is a muslim woman, and she is none too happy with barky the kool-aide man

May I suggest a hot cross in her front yard? I could rally the local PUMA’s if you wish!

Comment by Johnny at Work | 2008-06-24 22:26:46

No, you are confusing us with Obama’s Security Squad. Obama’s staff is dissing women in head scarfs.

I read it, and love it.

Here is the best line:
“he is becoming not so much the candidate of change, but the reason to change candidates”

Comment by mimi | 2008-06-24 22:17:17

I’m not voting for Obama and no one can make me.

Not even Hillary.

Comment by Linda | 2008-06-24 22:18:47

Yes.

And, my guess is that Cathy has been an Obama supporter. That was the Obamabots tactic, like the commercial they made of that woman in Iowa “I switched from Hillary to Obama”. But they didn’t make another TV AD of her switching again FROM Obama to the next one.

It was soooo obvious. I couldn’t count how many Obama followers would write declarations “I was a Hillary supporter now for Obama” crap. Even though their was no evidence of their claim, handles/moniker all new, etc.

And, by the talking points poor Cathy gave, she couldn’t be a previous Hillary supporter to even put “#2 The GOP will and is playing the race card (come on you got to face reality)” LMAO Obama AGAIN opens up that deck to throw that card on the table and she claims the Republicans…and face reality…..hmmmm a little projecting again that Cathy needs to deal with some reality.

Larry,
I doubt you saw my post about the article in a previous post…all that article did was make me respect you more than I already did…

This post speaks for many…myself included…

I have made up my mind..I will be voting McCain…can’t vote for a liar…

Comment by Johnny at Work | 2008-06-24 22:43:10

BTW… Larry, you have concisely stated why all of us Hillary Supporters are here, and why 20% of Hillary supporters will not vote for Obama.

The decision is not from hurt feelings or sour grapes. Obama is not qualified, not experienced and lacks the character to be President.

Comment by kellie | 2008-06-25 09:42:53

Um…sorry. It’s not 20% its closer to 10% and we still have a few months to go.
You fools wont even make a dent. You’re a joke.
Can you say President Obama!!!

Please sign this petition to the DNC telling them we want Hillary

Comment by UKforDems | 2008-06-25 13:03:28

Simple is as simple does. If she had won she would be off to the Whitehouse. She lost, but President Obama may invite her over.

From “Tom in Paine,

FURTHER NOTE: THE DENVER GROUP, a new PAC whose goals are to make sure Senator Clinton’s name is on the ballot and that there is a roll call vote at the convention in Denver is now up and running and accepting contributions.”

Why does NO Quarter let these trolls on here they have nothing of important to say and waste everbody time so why I REPEAT WHY do they let them on here?

Comment by Johnny at Work | 2008-06-24 22:56:31

Larry believes in Free Speech, 1st Amendment, no censorship, etc.

I actually like the trolls. Their lack of anything meaningful or sustantive to say only confirms that they have been brainwashed.

The majority of voters, have not been duped and when they start seeing the real O’boy and his trolls, they won’t like what they see.

Comment by Ugo | 2008-06-24 22:53:12

We will not be voting for Sen. Obama.

Comment by Tricia | 2008-06-24 22:54:47

We have been all setup by Rev Wright and Father Pfleger. They where told to do exactly what they did. First he had to denounce Rev Wright (need him off the list) and than we need to get rid of the church that is where the acting of Father Pfleger came in (could not have Rev Moss new pastor do this because Barack praise him as his new Pastor. Remember both these acts happen when other big things where going on.

YOu can not tell me great friends of Obama don’t know what would happen to him by them coming out and acting this way (Rev Wright & Father Pfleger life work Black Liberation Theology is to have Obama be President ) This was setup to get rid of Rev Wright and the Church before the General Election. Please someone check into this. Rev Wright has not said nothing since ?

Comment by UKforDems | 2008-06-25 13:17:52

Who did the Clintons turn to due the Monica crisis? Rev Wright. Was he a racist radical then?

Who voted to impeach Bill Clinton? None other than John McCain.

Who do the Republicans try and pin on any black Democratic candidate running for Senior Office. Rev Farakhan.

Same old racist campaign tricks. Not even tidied up.

It will not work this time. Clinton has endorsed Obama and the Republicans will lose in November.

After listening to Pelosi on Greta Live on Fox, I nearly thru up.Greta asked Pelosi, where’s Obama’s experience, and Pelosit, said, he’s new and doesn’t have any washington politics in him, and he’s has judement. lol Make me sick. Make this bad dream go away. I can’t believe Hillary would stoup so low to talk for this guy. Even Dr Dopson tonite on Hannity and Colmes said he is terrified of Obama and his beliefs.

Mccain has got to win this election if Clinton can’t fight at the convention.
