What went wrong?
The representative process of the Democratic Presidential Preference began with the Iowa caucuses and ended with the Montana and South Dakota primaries. Much has been said about the inherent flaws in a process that is not uniform, much of which is very valid and deserves corrective measures.
It is evident that much of the electorate and, in kind, many of our elected officials, do not have a firm grasp of the nominating process: a process that begins at the convention - no sooner and no later. Calls by Democratic Party leaders to have the “nomination” determined on a specific date, has no relevance. Calls to have Super Delegates declare their endorsement before the nominating process begins short-circuits the democratic process.
More importantly, however, we have seen and we know, that our Democracy is in dire need of change. A significant portion of the electorate realizes that our Democracy is at a crossroads: the path we choose today will determine our future with a sense of urgency most generations rarely experience. There is no small reason so many are polarized and refuse to support the “presumptive” Democratic Presidential nominee. The process has been far from normal - if fact, many say it has been undemocratic: Barack Obama was selected, not elected.
We could, and rightfully so, point to a number of factors that lead many to this conclusion:
- Suppression of millions of votes (Florida & Michigan)
- Fraudulent practices in states where caucuses were held
- Media bias
- Discriminatory practices that were allowed to reign free without repudiation
However, there is a much more insidious and covert force working here: George Soros.
The George Soros Factor
George Soros began pouring millions into election finance reform. His millions effectively contributed to the passage of the McCain-Feingold law. While placing a cap on soft-money, it allowed 527’s to secure unlimited donations thereby using these organizations to promote their agenda and support candidates that subscribed to them or message against those that did not.
Soros began a concerted effort to yield influence by acquiring and significantly funding 527s like MoveOn, ACT, Media Matters, and the Center for American Progress. He was a primary backer of the failed Howard Dean Presidential candidacy in 2004. With Howard Dean’s ascension to Democratic Party leader, George Soros was able to yield, through his wealth and in conjunction with the Democratic Alliance, a little known “billionaire’s club”, significant power and influence to alter the make-up of the Democratic Party.
Soros and Nazi Germany
Not known to many, George Soros was the “adopted grandson” of an official in the Nazi government. A 1998 interview with Steve Kroft on “60-Minutes”, Soros explains his upbringing in Nazi Germany and furthermore indicates no sense of “guilt” or remorse for what he not only observed but for that in which he participated.
At the age of 14 he was exposed to the mass shipment of Jews to concentration camps and participated in the looting of personal property. His “formative” years were shaped by the policies of a fascist government; a government whose leader was propelled to the forefront of the national psyche by a phenomenon known as the “Cult of Personality”.
Obama: The Cult of Personality
The Obama campaign is reminiscent of elements of Nazi Germany. For instance, the quid pro quo exchange of volunteerism for “organizational training” offered by the Obama campaign is nothing more than a covert form of assimilation. His campaign’s manipulation of the democratic process, suppression of votes, the infringement on our democratic principles (including free speech), manipulation of the press, and countless other tactics have colluded to expunge the legitimate nominee for the Democratic Presidential candidacy in favor of an illegitimate one.
The briefly paraded but profoundly disturbing “Obama Seal” is yet another indication of the “person” becoming more important than the Party and the United States of America. The arrogance and bold exhibit of ego in using a symbol of our Country for personal gain is indicative of the phenomenon of the “Cult of Personality”. Furthermore, the blind following of his supporters, to discount these assaults on our Democracy, is yet another indicator of this cancerous blight.
Implications for our Democracy
Our Democracy is at stake: period. Many discount the massive outcry to the potential obliteration of our Democratic principles as a fad of “disgruntled Hillary Clinton supporters”. But we are the enlightened.: make no doubt about it.
We have seen the injustices to our Democratic process. To gain this insight, however, it takes a true leader to reveal them. Hillary Clinton has done that. We are enamored not only by her and the issues she represents but because she has gone through this process, to show us the truth.
We are acting. What each of does in the voting booth November 4th, 2008, is, we believe, sacred, personal, and the core of our Democracy. However, we must combat this “Cult of Personality”. We must protect the principles that our forefathers died for to form this new form of government: government for the people by the people. A Democracy with is uniquely American.
We cannot allow George Soros, Howard Dean, Barack Obama, and associated cohorts the deny the will of 18 million voters. George Soros, more than any other American, is the greatest threat to our Democracy. While we point the finger to Barack Obama, Howard Dean, David Axelrod, et. al, we need to hold accountable George Soros and his cronies that have manipulated our Democracy to their benefit.
Make no doubt about it: money talks. George Soros has a sacrificial lamb in Barack Obama. It may be a blessing in disguise he does not know it.

They were counted on the same basis as the Republicans; half delegates, because they broke the rules. The voters who turned out to vote AGAINST Clinton were counted as supporting Obama as opposed to being completely excluded as some here wish.

1. If it was said at the outset that only half the delegates were to be counted, then things would have been much different and the tone of the primaries would have meant a huge Hillary lead.
Also, giving delegates to Obama when he was not on the balllot is ridiculous. Taking 4 of them from Hillary is even more so.
2. There are plenty of documented cases of fraud and initimidation at caucuses. And the fact that you used the word racist means that you lose the argument right away because you must resort to name calling isntead of using facts.

1) No - that was a COMPROMISE. It is what Political Parties do. Florida and Michigan should according to the rules, agreed and largely SET BY the Clinton campaign should not have been seated. As part of the COMPROMISE Obama got votes for Uncommitted, which meant those voting for ANYONE BUT HILLARY.
2) Where is that evidence? There is plenty of evidence about fraud in New York (no votes for Obama from the Bronx?).
3) So what makes you think those tapes were the ones that showed Rev Wright in the best light? Based on his experience serving in the US Army? Or his experience working with the Clintons during their Monica difficulty? Hasn’t FAUX News always done this to AA Dems (Jesse Jackson?)

I can name two for you!
Precint 3386 Democratic Caucus & Senatorial District 12 Democratic Caucus in Tarrant County, Texas: I attended both (as an elected delegate at one) and personally witnessed fraud at both. I signed a sworn affidavit detailing all of the incidents of fraud to which I was personally a witness. I personally spoke with delegates from surrounding precinct caucuses who experienced and witnessed the same incidents of fraud.
Make no doubt about it - THERE WAS FRAUD:
* Election packets opened early
* Voters not verified as having voted in the Democratic primary
* Presidential preference filled in on voter registration sign-up sheets by campaign workers
* Delegates not ratified (and therefore not elected) by full vote of the caucus
* Invalid estimates used to calculate numbers of delegates based on a show of hands
* Caucus attendees urged to go home immediately after registering thereby preventing their votes from being counted in caucus matters
Shall I go on? There is more!

The votes that were cast for Uncommitted in Michigan were not solely for Barack Obama, and, contrary to the thought that in America, one can take what one wants, in America, we have a proud tradition of working within the rule of law. There is no law that would allow a Party or Government to decide after the fact to deliver votes for a candidate that were not theirs to begin with.
Obama made a strategic decision to take his name off the ballot. In every other election, Uncommitted is a status equal to a person on the slate.
Think about what you are saying. If it was true that votes intended for someone else could be changed, Al Gore would have been awarded the votes cast for Pat Buchanan - in an election that even Pat Buchanan acknowledged that the votes were not for him.
The DNC has so much faith in their Manchurian Candidate that they don’t even trust he would earn the Uncommitted votes at the Convention.
This was a disgrace, a sham, and if not illegal, certainly unethical. But as the author says, money talks.

How about the 2,000 phone calls that the Clinton’s legal hotline got from those voters caucusing for Clinton, merely in TX over the course of one day? How about the 200 affidavits collected by the Clinton lawyers of everything from Obama supporters locking out Clinton supporters from the caucus venue, to spitting on, photographing and otherwise, bullying Clinton supporters to Obama supporters being bussed into precincts in TX to Obama supporters and even city worker illegally trashing Clinton signage (and this happened in all states). Did you witness any of this from the UK? - since you’re so full of shit and think you know everything. Well, I witnessed it.
Did you know that many of the people that caucuses for Clinton are not WHITE? did you know that in TX, the Vietnamese populations votes at a rate of about 90% and that over 70% of the Asian democratic voters, voted for Clinton. Are you accusing those who have been victims of institutionalized racism themselves as all being racists? UNBELIEVABLE. You’re attitude and those of other Obama supporters in disrespecting and rendering invisible the vast, diverse coalition of Clinton voters and dismissing them all as racist is exactly why we will not support you or your candidate.

I do have quite a lot of American friends and the US election is of interest World wide. The consequences of the 2000 and 2004 elections are being felt very very deeply here.
Hillary could have and should have won the nomination but her campaign was awful. She played to the very lowest base of the Democratic Party and KNOWING her record, I doubt she was comfortable doing it. It is because of that, the Democrats I know started to support Obama. The Florida and Michigan campaign was from desperation, not from any belief in enfranchising the vote.
Regardless, the campaign is over. Hillary suspended her campaign to allow her supporters to get rid of the campaign debt (I trust you read her recent email). Today she said, “We have to chart a new course and we cannot do that without electing Senator Obama our next president.”, she means it; if you are really Democrats then you should get behind her.

I am one of the 200 who signed affidavits with the Clinton campaign. The fraud that I personally witnessed was carried out by the local caucus workers who made no attempt to hide that they were Obama supporters.
The incidents that I listed in my above post are not just despicable and unethical - they are illegal and against the written rules of the Texas Democratic Party. (Yet nothing was done by the TDC to investigate or correct the fraud.)
Obama campaign workers and some supporters will use tactics like those listed to manipulate and eventually steal your votes in the General Election in November. Pay attention to what is going on at your local precinct when you go vote. Report fraud immediately. Get your local news media involved on the spot. Otherwise, it will be ignored and swept under the carpet until the election is over and Obama has won.

Let’s talk about Florida - the situation should have been remedied immediately - to let 1.75 million voters wait for 5 months and then have to fight for their votes to be counted is appalling. It shows the DNC and party leadership have a higher regard for their agenda than they do to honor members of their own party. And, the attempts at a re-vote were nullified by the Obama campaign. The DNC effectively stole our support and then decided, after it no longer mattered, to give us a half-vote - in the end, however, they stole our support - they stole our voice.
It doesn’t matter how they spin it. The Constitution of the United States of America and Supreme Court rulings say that once a ballot is cast, it must be counted as it was cast. This is one of our basic rights, and it was violated, interpreted, twisted, whatever you want to call it. This was done to manipulate the election and was clearly unconstitutional.

This soros smear has a rather complicated history — there are number of simple errors of fact in the original post here, for instance the statement that George was brought up in “Nazi germany.” In fact, he grew up in Hungary, which the Nazi’s invaded in 1944.
But here’s the nut: The Soros guilt-by-association canard is as sleazy and inaccurate when used against Obama as it is when used against Hillary Clinton.
Let’s get to the substance.
A few years ago, Soros, who is Jewish, gave an interview and he said this about his childhood: He was 13 when the Nazi’s invaded his native Hungary in 1944. His father paid an official at the Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture to get young george fake papers identifying him as christian, and to pretend that george was his godson (often incorrectly reported as grandson).
In the 1998 interview referenced above, Soros said that he, as a 14-year old, once accompanied this man when he went out to confiscate the property of hungarian jews (a terrible thing, to be sure). The specific incident is elaborated on in Michael Kaufman’s “Soros: The life and times of a messaniac billionaire.”
What happened was that a wealthy hungarian jewish family had enough connections to secure safe passage to portugal after the Nazi invasion, in exchange for leaving behind a lot of property of great value (a terrivle thing to be forced to do). Soros’ “godfather” was tasked with inventorying the loot, and he took young george with him when he went to do this sordid task.
Now, the presence of this young jewish boy at this event is presented as evidence by some that he was a nazi. Or, in the case of poster fdrjim, that he actively participated in “looting” and his “formative years were shaped by a fascist government” (in fact, he spent at most 2 years, starting at the age of 13, in Nazi occupied Hungary).
Here’s what Soros said what he learned from his brush with nazi germany in that 1998 interview: “That one should think ahead. One should understand and — and anticipate events and when — when one is threatened. It was a tremendous threat of evil. I mean, it was a — a very personal experience of evil. ”
Here’s the coolest part about the guilt-by-association attempt in this post. The case was first made by David Horowitz in his 2006 book, wait for it, “Shadow Party: How George Soros, Hillary Clinton and 60s Radicals Seized Control of the Democratic Party.”
The book argues that the fascist leaning Soros (because of his “nazi past”) in league with Hillary Clinton and others is seeking to destroy America as we know it.
His argument is: 1. Soros is a secret fascist. 2. He has given money to various democratic groups close to the Clintons. 3. Therefore, Hillary Clinton is a closet fascist dedicated to ruining America and depriving us all of our freedoms.
Ain’t attack by innuendo, false assertion and guilt-by-association grand?

I have my own private opinion of Soros: I can truly say, after attending a fund raiser with him, he is THE WORST public speaker I have ever heard. He was speaking about medicine, medical school, medical students and all I remember was that he didn’t make a lick of sense every time I would try to refocus my wandering attention on his speech. He struck me as–befuddled with a German accent.

You can’t loose what’s been stolen. The Democratic party took the votes of their party members and redistributed them to Obama. They can declare him king if they wish to but, unless we are no longer a Democracy, it doesn’t make him one.
We remember how George W. Bush was selected by the Republican Supreme Court but that doesn’t make it the Democrats turn to select a president. It just means that We the People have to take back the Power of our Democratic government from the political parties who have overstepped their bounds.

I have a few comments/questions about this article. First, I believe that all states are allowed to determine their own process and could almost just appoint someone if they preferred. Caucuses are free and Primaries cost states money. The DNC cannot afford to finance primaries in each state. Since the DNC is NOT the government, democracy as a national principal is not at stake by whatever process the DNC chooses.
This isnt worded very well, but I would like to see more clarification from this site about what is government and what is party. Those things that are party are not constitutional, and a lot of people do not understand this concept.
That said, I think the whole thing was a huge mess and showed how weakly constructed the rules of the DNC are, and how totally out of touch with the right course for winning a national election the DNC has become. I also agree that the DNC is too far left. IMHO, the Nazi reference is in poor taste. Steve Kroft was not asked if he had regrets about Nazi Germany or his participation. If he had been, and stated that he had no regrets, this would be an issue.
When writing an article, more than one side should be considered before printing. I am not at all an Obama supporter, and I gave a ton to Hillary, but I prefer more rounded blogs that I have been reading here lately.

I debated whether to tell you this or not…but I did promise behind the scenes information here on GretaWire….so here it is…yesterday at 9:00am I personally booked Reverend Sharpton to appear ON THE RECORD at 10pm eastern to discuss Don Imus. At 8:12pm, less than 2 hours before we were to begin our 10pm news show, I received a call in my office from Reverend Sharpton…he said that Senator Obama’s campaign had called and asked him to appear on CNN at the same time he was due to appear on ON THE RECORD and thus could not make our show at the top. I told him that our first segment was the one he had been booked for almost 12 hours earlier and which we had discussed …he said Senator Obama’s campaign called and wanted him on CNN and that he was sorry.
So…here is my question: is Senator Obama’s campaign booking CNN now? Post your comment..

I for one salute your courage, I know, from my experience on the NET, that something has changed!! If I go to voice my opinion, that I do not believe that Sen. I would not dispute anything in your article. George Soros connection to MoveOn.org and that group’s actions during the Democratic primary campaign is enough proof for me regarding your claims.
However, I think it is very important for Democratic voters to assign responsiblity for Obama’s (s)election as the presumptive Democratic nominee to the leaders within the Democratic Party making this travesty possible. I am thinking specifically of John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, Nancy Pelosi. I hope the voters in Massachusetts and California send a loud and clear message and boot Kerry from his Senate seat and Pelosi from her Speaker’s roost.
Jimmy Carter deserves special mention as a Nobel Peace Prize winner in recognition, in part, of his record of overseeing fair elections and dispute mediation abroad. Any endorsement by him of Obama under the current circumstances, I believe, constitutes blatant, unmitigated hypocrisy.
The briefly paraded but profoundly disturbing “Obama Seal” is yet another indication of the “person” becoming more important than the Party and the United States of America.
My first thought when I saw that seal was that it reminded me of the Third Reich.
There were several incidents that occurred around the time that Obama was “selected” and accepted the nomination, events that chilled me to the bone and made me feel as if I were watching a bad movie straight out of the Third Reich.

JIm, this is a fascinating article, and I agree with the thrust of it, but it needs further development. How does Soros benefit from what he’s trying to do? What, exactly, is he trying to accomplish? Why are the old, pre-Clinton (pre-1992) pols going along with it? Why are so many Democratic leaders going along with it?
Some of the answers have to do with anti-Clinton feelings, anti-DLC, anti-centrist sentiments. Some of it may have to do with getting even with the Republicans. Whatever it is, it’s dangerous as hell.

I’m sure Obama calls it strategy when he is in cahoots with the DNC to deny Hillary her delegates in Florida and Michigan. Which, by the way, if her delegates were counted legitimately, she won the delegates AND the People’s Votes.
More strategy when he took his name off the Michigan ballot to gain favor with Iowa. Yes, he won Iowa by bussing in hoards of Chicago punks to disrupt and steal the caucus delegates.
More strategy when he had the DNC give him the Michigan delegates even though he wasn’t even on the ballot. Yes, there is SOMETHING rotten going on here, I just cannot put my finger on it. However, I do have an opinion. I have not trusted obama from the start. The youtube “1984″ video smearing Senator Clinton was the beginning of my distrust. Supposedly, it was posted by a non-affiliate. If that is so, it had his website listed at the end of the video and if he did not know about it (which he says) then he should have known about it since it had his name on it. That is scary.
Why the DNC would select him over a candidate who clearly articulates facts, figures, policy, and can get things done within the Washington circle, is just beyond me. I am still scratching my head over the selection considering Clinton received the popular vote and is the most likely candidate to beat John McCain.

Not only on the TeeVee, but scrubbing websites, “google-bombing”, where you direct any inquiries or searches, such as Obama, Rezko, and get directed to a pro-Obama website. I truly do not understand what people see in Obama. I understand many people think he is some great orator. But I honestly don’t see it. He has no charm at all! His eyes are hollow and lack energy.
