Harriet, I have a daughter who lives in a New York City, and a best friend who lives on Long Island. I visit New York once a year. I love New Yorkers, and I especially love you! Wonderful, thank you Harriet for being you. The reason we cannot vote for Obama is not mere bitterness, we are thinking of voters in future elections. We need to send a message that stealing delegates when your name was not on the ballot, that bullying delegates in Texas, bullying caucuses, will not be rewarded. We also need to send a message to the party leadership not to put their thumbs on the scales for the less experienced candidate just because you want access to his donor list for fundraising purposes.
What an amazing woman! Harriet, if you ever read this thread, I hope you realize how many people admire you deeply for the courage of your convictions, your eloquence, and your willingness to give voice to the feelings of millions of others. I was also proud to hear that you are a waitress — given the crass stereotyping of working people as benighted clingers by Obama and his supporters, it’s great to hear a working person speak with such eloquence and intelligence about this election. I was so upset after the “rules” committee that I changed my registration to Independent. I don’t feel that the Democratic party exists for me right now. The fact that rigged presidential elections have become common place should alarm everyone. It was bad enough when only one party was doing it, but now both parties are rigging elections brazingly. It seems like the end of domocracy to me, and a frightening move towards fascism. The public participation in the political process has been for all intent and purposes removed. The poeple no longer choose our presidents. Our votes don’t count!!!!! The last time the people voted in a president was Bill Clinton’s second presidential election. Since then it has been dirty!! WE THE PEOPLE HAVE TO HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE!!
I like how any sort of scenario where Obama does some kind of gesture automatically sets off her BS detector. Larry Johnson is one of my all-time favorite guys because of his brains. Loved this interview, as it revealed things about both speakers. Larry, I’m grateful you haven’t flipped this blog over to yet another ‘obama-is-our-nominee-oh-well’ capitulation.

Now we’re being asked to hit the repeat button, only the song remains the same, different cover band. Oy. As Harriet stated, I won’t waste my vote on obama here in Missouri. I’ll work hard to make sure he doesn’t and in time, make sure that Claire McCaskill is a one-term senator.
That was a fantastic interview! I loved the points that both Harriet and Larry made. Harriet impresses me every time she speaks. She has such a huge amount of knowledge, common sense, and people smarts. And did I mention bravery and courage??? As Larry mentioned, she’s not expressing her opinion in an anonymous forum, but in the open market for all to see. That’s pretty gutsy.

I agree with Deep Truths. The MSM is not getting important information out to the people- especially in this case about Obama. I have also noticed that they are already starting to treat McCain the exact same way they treated Hillary. I feel like we are losing our democracy. Corporations are taking over what we hear on the news. The press no longer belongs to the people- they have largely lost their moral responsibility to objectively inform the public. Instead they belong to corporations with agendas. These agendas result in biased selection and reporting of news stories. It is becoming more and more apparent that something must be done to change the direction of the news media before all we hear is propaganda. If anyone knows a way to enhance our communication networks, you will be doing a great service to America. We cannot allow this to continue.
Thank you Catherine. What can be started right away is a internet site that brings the real news and truth. The Truth is raw, unfiltered, unbiased information. The MSM unfortunately has the final say in what constitutes news.
A centralized internet network, dispensing articles and broadcast would work right now. Getting the Fairness Doctrine back to working for the people and changing MSM method of operation would work if the right people to pass it. Third option is a national broadcast network - too expensive and not guarantee that corporatist wouldn’t block it or carriers refuse to obtain it.
The coup of our democracy has been shown to us in stark reality. Had it been a fair election we would not have known the layers of corruption, deceit and undemocratic ways of the DNC and the MSM. Hillary fighting hard and the people prolonging her candidacy is what forced the vermin into the light of truth. The fight is not over. In fact its only begun. People like us will adapt and learn how to bring truth and democracy back to our society. Not be the window dressing that the elites has herded us into.
Harriet, you are my heroine! Since I first saw you after the RBC debacle, I have wanted to communicate to you how truly awesome, courageous, and magnificent you are. Thank you Herriet and larry for the great interview. Herriet, I was at the RBC meeting also. I wasn’t in inside the meeting, but watched it from the hotel. I also attended the rally outside the hotel.
The fact that rigged presidential elections have become common place should alarm everyone. It was bad enough when only one party was doing it, but now both parties are rigging elections brazingly. It seems like the end of domocracy to me, and a frightening move towards fascism. The public participation in the political process has been for all intent and purposes removed. The poeple no longer choose our presidents. Our votes don’t count!!!!! The last time the people voted in a president was Bill Clinton’s second presidential election. Since then it has been dirty!! WE THE PEOPLE HAVE TO HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE!!
I like how any sort of scenario where Obama does some kind of gesture automatically sets off her BS detector. It really is clear as day that Obama acts out of political convenience and she says quite correctly that anything where he reaches out is not in his character. Larry Johnson is one of my all-time favorite guys because of his brains. Loved this interview, as it revealed things about both speakers. Larry, I’m grateful you haven’t flipped this blog over to yet another ‘obama-is-our-nominee-oh-well’ capitulation.
America has wasted untold wealth, futures, and almost an entire decade to Bush’s incompetence and inexperience. Now we’re being asked to hit the repeat button, only the song remains the same, different cover band. Oy. As Harriet stated, I won’t waste my vote on obama here in Missouri. I’ll work hard to make sure he doesn’t and in time, make sure that Claire McCaskill is a one-term senator.
That was a fantastic interview! I loved the points that both Harriet and Larry made. Harriet impresses me every time she speaks. She has such a huge amount of knowledge, common sense, and people smarts. And did I mention bravery and courage??? As Larry mentioned, she’s not expressing her opinion in an anonymous forum, but in the open market for all to see. That’s pretty gutsy.

I agree with Deep Truths. The MSM is not getting important information out to the people- especially in this case about Obama. I have also noticed that they are already starting to treat McCain the exact same way they treated Hillary. I feel like we are losing our democracy. Corporations are taking over what we hear on the news. The press no longer belongs to the people- they have largely lost their moral responsibility to objectively inform the public. Instead they belong to corporations with agendas. These agendas result in biased selection and reporting of news stories. It is becoming more and more apparent that something must be done to change the direction of the news media before all we hear is propaganda. If anyone knows a way to enhance our communication networks, you will be doing a great service to America. We cannot allow this to continue.
Thank you Catherine. What can be started right away is a internet site that brings the real news and truth. The Truth is raw, unfiltered, unbiased information. The MSM unfortunately has the final say in what constitutes news.
A centralized internet network, dispensing articles and broadcast would work right now. Getting the Fairness Doctrine back to working for the people and changing MSM method of operation would work if the right people to pass it. Third option is a national broadcast network - too expensive and not guarantee that corporatist wouldn’t block it or carriers refuse to obtain it.
The coup of our democracy has been shown to us in stark reality. Had it been a fair election we would not have known the layers of corruption, deceit and undemocratic ways of the DNC and the MSM. Hillary fighting hard and the people prolonging her candidacy is what forced the vermin into the light of truth. The fight is not over. In fact its only begun. People like us will adapt and learn how to bring truth and democracy back to our society. Not be the window dressing that the elites has herded us into.
