Agreed. Great job Larry did on the radio show, being on top of the topics and insightful about them as usual. Man, am I upset about the price of oil, partly so high due to tensions caused by the Bush admin. Unfortunately the one person with the strength of character to wrestle the issue down has been knocked out of the race. Obama will do nothing as will Mccain; his weak responses that lack vision will be just as damaging to this country as McCain would be.

Comment by Michelle | 2008-06-28 01:28:30

Larry did a great job!
If in fact Israel strikes Iran, and the U.S. aids Israel in some fashion, won’t the Shi’a in Iraq kick us out? That is the theory put forth in Madeleine Albright’s latest book, just wondering.

Also: Craig Unger did a great job of exposing the ties between Saudi Arabia and Bush. I only wish he could do an in-depth analysis into the corrupt links between Obama and Rezko etc.!

In an April 16 letter to Servicemembers Legal Defense Network (SLDN), McCain says the law, passed in 1993, “unambiguously maintains that open homosexuality within the military services presents an intolerable risk to morale, cohesion and discipline.” Senator McCain goes on to incorrectly assert that the U.S. Supreme Court “has ruled that the military may constitutionally discharge a service member for overt homosexual behavior.”

Excellent job on the radio Larry. The issue with Iran is one that is being shoved aside like so many other issues with this election. They pose a very serious threat to the world and personally I do not trust the security of this nation in the hands of Obama. I keep asking myself when are people going to wake up and really start pressing the issues? I honestly believe the 527 groups are being very quiet right now so as not to upset anything until after Denver and then they will come out in full force and smack down Obama and hard. Right now, it may put Hillary in as the nominee and they do not want this at all. Obama will be very easy to beat, Hillary on the other hand would be very hard. Keep getting the news out there Larry people need you and they need to know the truth which they are not getting on the MSM.

It is honestly difficult to impossible for me to fathom the disconnect from reality necessary for obamazoids to keep on supporting this sleaze. I honestly think if he were caught on tape sucking the eyes out of a baby they would find some way in their cult adled brains to justify it.

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-06-28 08:45:11

Well, considering the turnout vote, I think it’s safe to say that many of his supporters are uninformed politically. They are the youth or they could be the latte crowd that never voted before. He’s “cool” to be for, you know. That was how the sexism worked to hurt Hillary. Uncool Hillary in her pantsuit.

That’s why it wasn’t obvious to those voters during debates that he is unprepared. They haven’t ever watched a debate, don’t know the issues, and don’t recognize the resonsibility that comes with voting.

It was American Idol……call in your preferred candidate stuff.

Some people will exucse anything. Look at the 28% that still support Bush. I can see the very rich people but they only make up 10% of the population so the other 18% must be brain dead to think that Bush is doing a good job.

It must be very similar with BOBO supporters.

PUMA Worries For The DNC

GOVERNOR RENDELL FORMS UNITY GROUP

We have formed HOUND (Hillary-Obama-United-Not-Divided) in response to the creation of PUMA (party unity, my ass — or its cleaned up moniker, People United Means Action).

PUMA advocated that Hillary Clinton supporters do not vote for Barack Obama just for the sake of party unity. Even though we in HOUND are loyal Democrats, we agree that no one should cast a vote for President because of a desire to achieve party unity.

We believe Sen. Clinton supporters should vote for Sen. Obama because, as Hillary herself said so forcefully and poignantly in her great speech a few Saturdays ago, the best way to achieve the changes she has fought so hard to bring to America, and on which she based her campaign, is to support Sen. Obama, whose policies are almost identical to hers.

Pelosi, Dean, Obama, Sharpton, all colluded to disenfranchise 2.5 Million Democrats.

How can anyone expect Unity in the shadow of such a totalitarian act?

Loyality must be a two way street!

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-06-28 08:55:44

That’s fine. But one of the focuses of PUMA is on the atrocious method of selecting Obama and ignoring voters.

Had the Democratic Leadership paid attention to the will of the people, then Hillary would be the nominee. Instead, they insulted us all until we jeered at them and wrote letters to stop their insane push to get her out of the race.

You tell me what candidate can win the popular vote when every major Democratic figure is on TV saying she can’t win and trying to suppress her voters?

You tell me that is not a clear message from voters when they continued to turn out for her in state after state, giving her her largest wins of the season.

The voters did that, mind you, even though their leaders were talking trash about her on TV.

That didn’t get the Democratic Party leader’s attention, either, did it? Why would anything penetrate their fog, then?

We won’t stand for the way they stole this election.

Why? They hate Clinton? They are afraid of the AA riots? They didn’t want to upset Pelosi? Pick a theory of your choice.

But …… there isn’t a doubt that is what happened.

Now, they won’t allow a roll call? Or so the rumor goes, and it’s looking solid. Since when?

More unfair treatment. Why?

Because they don’t want to acknowledge the will of the people and how their own decision goes against it.

PUMA isn’t about Hillary or Obama. Obama pushed the tactics, but the party leadership went along with him. And it’s wrong. It smacks of backroom dirty politics. And we don’t want to be a part of this type of political party.

HOUND wants unity? Then address the real issues. Pay attention. We’re not just mad or hurt or grieving.

We are very serious. These tactics must NOT be allowed to stand uncontested.

The only way to get rid of them all is to soundly defeat them in Nov. Save this site for great references later.

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-06-28 09:35:17

We’re going to have to have a discussion one day about all these terms. Hillary’s health care plan was far more “socialistic” than Obama’s plan. Heck, I’m ready to go the next step. I’d like to see single-payer health care in the US as in Europe. But I’ll be dead before that happens. *ha

I figure I’ve got a strong leaning toward a lot of socialist policies. A LOT!

I think that’s in the spirit of liberalism.

What I see Obama as is corporate. Rezko…he looked the other way while he ripped off the State for personal gain. He did that by raising funds for the young politician, Obama, who let the problem take root in his district. That’s capitalism, not socialism.

I’d call Obama a crass capitalist with a desire to control communications so that he manipulates the masses with messages. He’s tapping into the sound byte generation. Yes We Can! is frankly all some of those kids can handle any longer. Their attention span is that of a gnat.

He’s supporting FISA because as president he wants the same power Bush has gathered. I can almost guarantee that he’ll use the same top-down communications method that Bush used.

He blew smoke up everyone’s butt about bottom-up. Moveon has gotten 2 smackdowns in less than a month, proving me right on this one. We’ll hear the same complaints out of scientists who have their reports edited by the White House. Mark my words.

But socialist? I wish! He just told city mayors to not expect Federal funds to bail them out. He used the “bottom-up” language. LOL* For God’s sakes, bottom up isn’t that the problem is solved on the city level without Federal help! That’s nothing more than throwing the cities to the wolves!

So I think we’ve got to define our terms. It took me darn near 8 months to nail down just what the people meant when they used the term “progressive.” I kept looking for the liberal threads. There were none. They thought they were liberals because they were opposed to the war. But that’s not liberal thinking necessarily. Finally I got it.

Anyway….my 2 cents.

Comment by HARP | 2008-06-28 09:48:47

Hell AnninCa, if you really are a socialist ( and I don`t believe you are ) then this site is for you.

lol*……of course not, Harp. I just meant I like some of the socialist programs.

Nah*….just a Clinton Democrat here, and, like most of us….lean left on some issues and right on others.

No, I just meant we gotta get our terms defined.

My concern is that an Obama presidency will allow those corporate roots to go even deeper.

I’m quite serious. I think Obama says opposite of what he means. I’ve noticed this over and over.

He says he’s going against the lobbyists?

I’m watching and thinking: Opposite. He’s going to bury it from the public’s eye, that’s all. His health care plan is a lobbyist dream.

I’ll try to express this better in the future.

It’s tough to explain what I mean.

But socialist and marxist don’t describe him at all. I know that’s what a lot of analysts think, but I think there’s something else here.

Here’s a question for those of you on this website who are laywers.

I went to the above-referenced link for the Obamafile and clicked on recent news. The first article is about Obama allegedly promising Hillary a Supreme Court Justice position, should one open while he is (gag) in office.

According to Carl Bernstein’s book, A Woman in Charge, Hillary attempted to, but never passed the Washington DC bar exam.

If this is true, would that make her ineligible to be a Supreme Court Justice?

Comment by yo mama | 2008-06-28 09:43:55

sorry - make that ‘lawyers’

Comment by Peter | 2008-06-28 12:27:50

No she did not pass the DC bar exam.

Does this block her from the SCOTUS? Quick Google says ‘NO‘….

They are appointed by the President and must be approved by the Senate. Justices have their jobs for life, unless they resign, retire, or are impeached by the House and convicted by the Senate

There are no requirements in order to be appointed a Justice, but all have been trained in the law. Many Justices served as members of Congress, governors, or members of the President’s Cabinet. One president, William Howard Taft, was later appointed Chief Justice.

If Gov Rendell can back Obama with a straight face after Obama made his ‘gun to a knife fight’ comment and even worse, the comment about ‘needing the checks, not the people’ at Gov Rendell’s rally for him, then Rendell is indeed quite the politician.
In addition there is Obama’s blatant insulting of Rendell’s very constituents with his ‘bitter, gun clinging bigot’ comment.
Anyone who backs this immoral candidate must have their judgment and moral character questioned, as well.
Sad for Rendell and all the others who put caving in to some political arm twisting above morality and decency.

Hey Larry,

Someone needs to write about Obama’s condescending, sexist remark about Hillary in heels. His pathetic attempt to allude to Ann Richards was a major backfire. He is just a sexist pig. He can’t help himself. His whole entourage can’t help itself. They really really hate women, don’t they? In the very permoance of faux unify he has to stick a knife in her– and in all women. There is something psychopathic in that campaign’s misogyny.

“[B]ecause of the campaign that Hillary Clinton waged, my daughters and all of your daughters will forever know that there is no barrier to who they are and what they can be in the United States of America. They can take for granted that women can do anything that the boys can do (cheers begin) — and do it better, and do it in heels. I still (Obama laughs) — I still don’t know how she does it in heels.”

Imagine if she “Gee, I don’t know how he does it being black.”

Comment by HSON | 2008-06-28 09:28:38

Zozo,
What a superficial, narrow ass backwards definition of “sexist” you espouse you dipshit. I minored in Women’s Studies in college and honestly, you all sound like the uppity ourgeoise Patricia-Ireland- brand of feminism playbook I had shoved down my throat back then. PUH-lease. Y’all call Reverend Wright a “reverse racist.” By that fucked up definition, every woman that lampooned Bush as a “yee haw Cowboy” “ignorant oil man” “barely walking on 2 legs chimp” etc etc etc are REVERSE SEXISTS!!!!

Get over your little privileged selves. Hillary Clinton is HARDLY an oppressed “folk hero” for the female masses. My mom and I laugh all the time about what a masterful job she’s done at spinning herself as one, though, in less than a year. She’s a suppressed victim of patriarchy like GWB is a populist. Obama? He talks about them like they are specimens under some sociological microscope and got caught doing it.

Now, he’s just another arugula-eating Democratic Party suit who is so elitist that the traditional Democrats are rejecting at a rate of 1 out of 4.

You and your mother laugh about that reality?

Comment by HSON | 2008-06-28 09:50:29

Did she “reach those groups” Ann? How did she alienate those African Americans she and her hubby pandered to for 20 plus years and relied on to win elections?? Oh yea, wait, those “ignorant” blacks blindly voted for Obama like robots because he “stirred em’ up with race baiting”. Just a non-thinking amorphous monolith, right? Whereas the masses that voted for Hillary in all white red neck states like W Virginia (one out of five saying they’d NEVER vote for a black man) are “thoughtful” voters, right?? Hillary didn’t stir up the masses herself when she distorted Senator Obama’s “guns and religion” comment did she, when everybody with half a brain, including my hillbilly mother AND Hillary herself, knew he was right.

Your double standards and hypocricy disgust me. I frankly hope you do vote McCain and that Hillary gets blamed when he starts WW III because she will HAVE EARNED IT. Maybe then this disgusting historical revisionism of her and Bill as “folk heroes” will stop.

THIS IS WHY US CHICAGOANS ARE AGAINST OBAMA
from http://chicagoagainstobama.wordpress.com/

This video, which I found on Rezko Watch, outlines the district in which Barack Obama represented in the Illinois State senate……….this is also the community he “organized”……..the district he claims he changed…what a joke…not a funny joke, but a f**king joke…a f**king lie……

The 13th district, Obama’s district, is a sad place…a place that has stayed the same for decades…..a place that money-bribed politicians keep down, for their own benefit…..

The 13th disctrict, is unfortunately known for out of control gang violence, drug warfare, school violence, hate churches, hate mosques, Louis Farrakhan, Jesse Jackson, Bill Ayers, Rev. Wright, corrupt alderman, and notorious slumlords……

It’s not the damn nutcracker. I agree with Hillary. That kind of thing is nearly a compliment.

But the type of coverage pointed out in this article killed her.

I absolutely do fault Penn. He was responsible for seeing to that the messages were clear on these types of stories. He focused way too much on the daily dramas that Obama kept throwing his way and let the memes take root.

That was his job.

Not once did I see him point out the obvious that even I could see.

*arrrggghhhhh

Comment by rjj | 2008-06-28 10:46:48

but I don’t call that sexism; I call that The Fair Game Game.

Bill Clinton got the same sort of negatively biased treatment. He was fair game. She was fair game. Jimmy Carter got it, too. George Dubya, the chronic fuckup and career bagman, creates a failed state at the cost of a half trillion dollars and even now does not get that sort of treatment. He is not fair game.

Ronald Reagan was senile. Helen Caldicott alluded to this on radio (I heard the interview), shortly afterward her career tanked. She was sent to Coventry. She was no longer heard on media, had some sort of a personal crisis, and went home to Australia in 86. This may be a case of post/propter hoc - but the timing WAS interesting. Ronald Reagan was NOT fair game. There were no jokes about him or his wife till very late in his second term. I had thought one of the wonderful things about the US was the absolute irreverence with which we treated our presidents, and noticed that this was not true of Ronald Reagan. He seemed to be off limits. After that I actively looked for Ronald Reagan jokes on the media. There may have been one or two about his hair. Damn few of those. I saw some comedian make a crack about Nancy Reagan on the Arsenio Hall show. The control room people cut away very quickly from the camera on Hall but not quickly enough. He was looking at the comedian with an expression of horror and shaking his had NO NO NO. Nancy Reagan was not fair game.

In the case of Reagan I thought it might be the Roosevelt wheelchair phenomenon. Keep up appearances and all that, don’t want the markets to get all wobbly or the Soviets (who might not have noticed) to take advantage.

Some public figures seem to be immune from criticism. I don’t know what this is all about. The Fair Game Game is a way of referring to this immunity. I have no idea what it is about or how it works. Only that the effects are observable.

** she resigned PSR 1983 - it was a putsch. I think this happened shortly after the radio interview in which she referred to Reagan’s condition as “um … um …um …alarming …. clinical” There was urgency in her voice and she had trouble finding the words.
