Will Bower Counters Unity & “Hounds”

On Saturday, Fox News interviewed Will Bower of Just Say No Deal, a coalition of PUMA voters. (More videos are up at the Just Say No Deal and NoQuarterUSA channels at YouTube.

BELOW, a special message to Gov. Ed Rendell:

Dear Gov. Rendell:

houndnobama.jpgWe still respect and honor you, especially for your great work on behalf of Hillary. (I’m a little less angry than my good friend Pagan Power, who’s as sweet a soul as you’ll find but is perturbed, rightfully, by your group.)

Just for now, Ed, we want you to take a chill pill, and learn a bit more about WHO you are addressing.

You see, we here at No Quarter remember vividly the night not so long ago when, even while you maintained your usual affable demeanor, it was clear you were perturbed as you described this phone call on CNN’s Larry King Live — and WE STOOD WITH YOU, which you can see in the 262 comments rallying to your support in that post on March 29, 2008:

Here’s what Pennsylvania governor Ed Rendell told CNN’s Larry King about the call he got from Barack Obama:

RENDELL: “I had a call from Senator Obama and he said, you know I’m going to be the nominee, and I didn’t argue with him, I said, sure, and he said I just want to make sure nothing happens in Pennsylvania, the campaign here, that will make it harder for us to win in the fall. And I said, senator, don’t even worry about that for five seconds.”

Read all: Last Round: Rendell Gets a Call From Obama [Updated].

We’ve also stood up for you against the ultra-left on the Internet who disparage you constantly.

You’re just not enough of an “authoritarian leftist” to please them, Ed. (Thank god.) The Kossacks and far leftists have denigrated you for years because you’re not radical enough for them.

Remember who your real friends are. The more moderate, centrist Democrats like US, who also require that our presidential nominee be qualified. Barack Obama is not experienced enough.

These critical times require the most experienced, most knowledgeable, most dedicated, and most hard-working candidate. We know that that candidate is Hillary Clinton. And so do you.

It’s not too late, Ed.

Let’s do the right thing. For the Democratic party. And for this nation.

It’s not too late to go over to http://www.riverdaughter.wordpress.com and contribute at the cocktail party lounge for our campaign debt for our primary. We stayed up all night, and the band is still playing!

We have a running total up and would love to have your name on the list!

I can read between the lines. The body language and even the way Hillary speaks is of a candidate who was pushed out even though she was winning. Even if Hillary and Bill were to campaign they would win few new converts to the disUnity train.
The stone has been cast for all to see!

The more I see Hillary or Rendell or anybody else that were previously against the fraud the more I forgive them and want to vote for McCain.

The Telegraph has learned that the former president’s rage is still so great that even loyal allies are shocked by his patronising attitude to Mr Obama, and believe that he risks damaging his own reputation by his intransigence.

A senior Democrat who worked for Mr Clinton has revealed that he recently told friends Mr Obama could “kiss my ass” in return for his support.

A second source said that the former president has kept his distance because he still does not believe Mr Obama can win the election. WHAT EVEN BETTER IS THIS THAT BILL CLINTON TELLS OBAMA TO KISS OFF , I HAV HAD THE MOST VILE COMMENTS ABOUT OBAMA ON POLITICO AND I WILL COPNTINUE TO POST ON POLITICO THESE BAD COMMENTS!!!

Comment by Janis | 2008-06-28 23:41:26

Good for Bill. I was furious when I heard that they twisted up what he’d said to be racist. How fucking DARE they — this man is a former two-term president of the United States. You’re goddamned fucking right that smug little shit had better pucker up and grovel before he asks the Big Dawg for something.

Oh but apparently, expecting the respect due his station after they trashed his wife beyond belief is racist. (Somehow.) How Bill Clinton went from “the first black president” to practically the fucking grand wizard of the fucking Ku Klux Klan is insane to me.

Obama can fuck off for all I care. That arrogant fucking bastard. He caved on NAFTA, FISA, public financing, and the Iraq War. He’s zero for four right now.

McCain vs. Obama: The Hero or the Zero. NO FUCKING CONTEST.

They’re doing the same thing to McCain. In 2004 McCain was a closet Democrat. The icing on the cake for Kerry’s bid for president. Some even called for him to run as a Democrat for President. A true moderate. Now he’s the boogeyman, the man of our nightmares?

McCain’s as are Hillary’s votes “ARE” for protecting/the betterment of our children/grandchildren. Obama has voted against or present on every issue concerning our children. The children ARE the future.

They should watch the racism with McCain, it could backfire on them and have Puma growing by leaps and bounds. He has a bi-racial child. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see her with her parents and know they love her.

Cindy has always been involved in Charity, she used her own money to fund sending medical teams to help those in need. Her team was one of the first in Kuwait. Just like Bill was one of the first in Katrina after just having open heart surgery. She doesn’t look at the color of child’s skin before she donates to an organization, or from her own charity.

Yes. She got addicted to pain pills, but she wanted to keep going instead of taking the time off needed to heal. She got the help she needed. It never fails for an Obama supporter to come off with, “I could never vote for someone that got addicted to drugs.” To which I reply, “Well I guess you won’t be voting for Obama? He used ILLEGAL drugs and admits it. She took drugs to keep her going to help OTHER people, he took them for HIS own pleasure.”

McCain could have walked away from being a POW two times. He wouldn’t go without his fellow Americans. Spent two years in solitary confinement because of it. Had both his legs broken, tortured till he signed a war crime confession. The men calling him a coward would have signed before they broke their legs. Would have gladly walked away from their fellow American’s to be back home and to protest the war. Many of us were here, we saw the news. We saw McCain get off that plane.

He, like Hillary LOVE this country. He, like Hillary is NOT racist. He, like Hillary have the experience to run this country. Three things I have to question with Obama. That I have to question them with Obama, let’s me know I could never vote for him.

I don’t see McCain running a second term. So I will vote for him in this election, and I will vote for Hillary again in 2012.

Comment by ea | 2008-06-29 16:14:40

That slogan will catch on, I believe, if Obama is the official Dem nom. In the early 90s, the Louisiana gubernatorial election featured Edwin Edwards (subsequently imprisoned for racketeering) and David Duke (former KKK grand wizard). There were some colorful bumper stickers, along the lines of “Vote for the lizard, not the wizard.” I was wondering what the slogan would be for a McCain/Obama match-up.

–I am not now and have never been a member of the Democratic Party.

———————————————————-
Oh yeah - and I’m sure that President Clinton has NO just cause to be angry at Obama and his scummy political supporters. After all, they only:

a.) branded him and his wife “racist” - even though their dedication to civil rights for over 20 years prove the opposite,

b.) have turned on them during the primaries like vipers - though the Clintons supported MANY of their politcal careers and causes over the years,

c.) sat silently by as the lowlife MSM TRASHED his wife and women in general with their childish, egotistical and blatant sexist behavior and deep hatred, and

d.) STOLE the Democratic nomination in broad daylight on May 31, 2008 by disenfranchising, then marginalizing, and THEN stealing the votes in MI and FL and handing them to Obama - though Hillary Clinton won BOTH states AND Obama removed his name from the MI ballot early on to focus on Iowa.

Yeah - Clinton, mad? What the hell should he be mad about?

Comment by Lucinda | 2008-06-29 06:23:34

Bill Clinton doesn’t have to do anything that Bill Clinton doesn’t want to do. Reputation? Oh, you mean the one where he was the only two-term Democrat in the past 40 years and led this country through 8 years of prosperity. He survived impeachment and still left office with a high approval rating. I think Clinton can safely tell Obama to kiss his a**, and it’s not going to hurt him one bit. A lot of people are probably thinking, “Yeah, now that’s the Bill we know.”

The acronym HOUND stand for?

Considering Hounds are used for getting cats into trees I get the connotation.

Comment by SusanUnPC | 2008-06-29 00:16:19

And it is a particularly CRUEL way of hunting cougars — and bears. It is an overwhelmingly exhausting and unspeakably terrifying experience for the “hounded” animal.

No decent hunter who truly cares about humane hunting methods would ever use hounds to tree an animal.

Comment by WildChild | 2008-06-29 00:21:01

Hunting with hounds is primarily practiced by those who are to drunk, to obese or too redneck to leave the dirt road so they let the dogs do all the work driving Bambi into rifle range.

Comment by Dawnelle | 2008-06-29 09:58:23

LOLOL

I hate hunting myself but if the hunter is actually gonna eat or wear what he kills then if the laws allow I’m not gonna protest.

I just hate killing for the HELL OF IT!!! IT’s just so phallic challenged! lol

Comment by pm317 | 2008-06-29 09:03:38

That is what surprises me about this initiative — everybody should know about the negative connotation of the word HOUND (like hounding for our votes?). I don’t think this thing came from Rendell but it came from Obama and his campaign. It has all the hallmarks of his minions — read the last para and the last line on that credo. And, now of course, the name itself as you also point out does not paint a good picture.

Comment by Truthisgold | 2008-06-29 01:12:03

Well…they can try to use hounds all they want, but a hound is no match for a PUMA!

I want to thank you ALL for brightening my day with your most salient and hilarious comments! I have spent nearly every day since returning from the DNC meeting in DC on May 31st working what little is left of my brains out to support and spread the growth of the PUMA/JSND coalition members. It is absolutely TERRIFIC to see how fast it’s growing, and to read all the great thoughts you’re sharing in blogs, comments and research sites!

Comment by Obama is a bum | 2008-06-28 23:54:17

Obama bums are getting cocky like Obama. After some polls came out with a big lead for Obama, I heard some of them say that they don’t need the Clintons to win.

Obama feels he has this in the bag but he wants to win big over McCain so he can feel he has a mandate and force all to bow to the great messiah.

McCain is not a bad option. One of his problems is that the Republicans are not backing him because they feel he is too liberal. If Democrats and independents who are disgusted with Obama vote for someone other than McCain then Obama wins.

McCain seems to be sleepwalking in this campaign, I don’t know what he is waiting for.

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-06-29 00:11:54

I was hoping that would lighten up the troll traffic. Nothing like phony polls to calm them down.

McCain got some good press finally. Apparently, REpublicans are starting to wake up and express some enthusiasm.

Comment by Bella | 2008-06-29 08:22:02

I think they will definitely wake up. My Mom in FL and a R is concerned about Obama’s lack of experience. She is also disappointed in Mac, but said she will vote for him as an against Obama vote.

I bet tons of republicans will be doing the same in Nov.

Comment by MessyMarcy | 2008-06-29 00:14:53

I wouldn’t be too sure Republicans won’t back McCain. My husband on a recent business trip got to talk to a guy he used to work with who is as right-wing as they come. Much laughter ensued when he found out we were actually voting for McCain this fall since he knew us to be pretty liberal Democrats. His view was that, while he didn’t particularly like McCain, he would still vote for him and support him. If only we Democrats could have been that smart back in 2000 or even 2004.

Comment by Janis | 2008-06-29 00:24:51

WildChild sez:

…and let’s not forget the enlightened ones were all gaga over Nader back in 2000.

Still struggling with the DNC’s old “spoiler” meme? Well, that’s what it was designed to do; make it harder to stray from the herd. I’m sure they’ll be happy to know that it’s still working after all these years.

(Ever hear the RNC whining about Perot in 2000? Or Bob Barr this year? Nope; only the DNC. Hmm.)

[. . .] Should you have any negative thoughts about Nader because of the 2000 election, the facts refute blaming him for the Bush victory, including more than 200,000 registered Democrats in Florida who voted for Bush (compared to 97,000 votes for Nader, only 25 percent of which would have voted for Gore) and over half of the registered Democrats that did not vote at all because Gore ran a terrible campaign.

[. . .] This year, Democrats will undoubtedly work hard to create a guilt atmosphere so that people who might be inclined to vote for Nader are made to fear that doing so could elect McCain president.

– Joel S. Hirschhorn (full article here)

Or maybe they won’t have to work all that hard, after all. Learned helplessness, I think it’s called.

Comment by ea | 2008-06-29 16:29:58

How about blaming the people WHO VOTED FOR BUSH?!? Or the Democrats who could not be bothered to vote for Gore? This moldy, old argument about Nader costing Gore the election does not improve with time, because it was not right in the first place.

Do you really think it helps to get people on your side by trashing them? My goodness, that is the same complaint you have against the Obama supporters.

I am not now and have never been a member of the Democratic Party.

This article was linked from someone else. Thanks and sorry forgot your name, they were pointing the Hart quote and his article about Obama.

However, the few paragraphs quoted below are gold too.

At minimum, SIX to TEN percent of each state is what is in play for both Obama and McCain. And it looks like they are trying for the uninformed voters to offset the PUMAs, since they are redeploying the door to door effort.

“Plouffe, a cool-headed operator who helped engineer Obama’s nomination victory, says he doesn’t put much stock in national polls, since a presidential election is a state-by-state battle. Laying out the public version of his campaign’s strategy for a room full of reporters, he zeroed in on the most important target for both Obama and McCain.

“The people in the middle–in some cases we’re only talking about six to ten percent of the people in a state–they will decide the election,” Plouffe says. “Some of these voters just haven’t been consuming the political news . . . So we think we have some very, very important foundational work to do” in spreading Obama’s message.

He plans to redeploy a massive volunteer force, built during the primaries, on a door-to-door persuasion effort organized down to the precinct level.”

Golly, I can’t wait for an Obamatot to show up at my door or any in the complex where I live…many conservative military…decidedly not for Obama. But maybe they won’t put out the effort in CA since I’m sure they think its in the bag. Would love to hand them a surprise.

Comment by MessyMarcy | 2008-06-29 01:52:09

an Obamatot to show up at my door

That would be even more enjoyable than getting one of those whiny letters from Obama begging for money. I love those.

Comment by Karma | 2008-06-29 02:45:08

Wouldn’t that be great?

I would love to chat one up too. The closest we got was the day after Kerry endorsed him.

She was essentially a telemarkter with a script, so it wasn’t nearly as fun as in-the-flesh-kool-aid-kid on the doorstep, would be.

You are right about CA though, we never get the same effort or the strange push calls that other states receive.

McCain taking CA would be one hell of a surprise.

Could you imagine? I wonder who would they blame for that, after all the talk of Obama changing the electorial map? ;)

Comment by pm317 | 2008-06-29 09:15:57

I did that during the primary on the phone with an old lady volunteer from his campaign — (they thought I was old). She was exasperated by the end and gave up on my vote. I later felt bad for going after her but felt if I turned at least one volunteer away by making her see the light — well, I can only hope! (didn’t some imbecile say hope was making a comeback again?)

Comment by pm317 | 2008-06-29 09:18:37

They may not be enthusiastic on the surface but they want to win (Democrats, not so much) and theirs will be a protest vote against this unprepared hack of a nominee. We will help them win.

It’s more than that they need us. It’s MUCH worse than that. Think about it.

How did the Baby Jesus up there get in to start with? He gamed the caucuses and scammed on proportional delegate awards. What are there NONE OF in the general election?

Caucuses and proportional delegate awards.

Heh. Stupid, crooked little scam artist needs to win on a winner-take-all and direct-vote rulebook now.

You know — the same rulebook that says that Hillary won.

Heh heh heh. He’s toast. That arrogant, crooked SOB’s best game is looooong behind him. Crack open a beer or pour yourself a mixed drink or nice glass of wine and watch the fun.

Comment by Seattle Moss | 2008-06-29 00:41:03

Janis..You got that right!
Obama is on a false pedestal. he really hasn’t won much since February.

The fact that they can still anoint a nominee who clearly can’t win is travesty and mockery of our democratic system.
The democrat party has been bought by the internationalist’s such as Soro’s who don’t believe in our values and have thrown away our votes and our rights as citizens of the United States.

This is about saving the country from an illegal takeover!

Sorry Ed. This hound won’t hunt. My old Southern Granny used to tell me that she could be led about anywhere, but she never had been drove. For those of you not familiar with Southern vernacular, she meant that she could be persuaded to do about anything, but she couldn’t be made to do anything. It feels more and more like the Democrats think they don’t need to lead us back into the fold. They seem to think they can use Roe v. Wade and other issues to drive us.

Comment by MessyMarcy | 2008-06-29 00:39:37

My old Southern Granny used to tell me that she could be led about anywhere, but she never had been drove.

I love that! And it is so true. If they think they can bully me or intimidate me, they need to think again. Voting for Obama would just be legitimizing all the sexism directed at Hillary and her female supporters this entire campaign. I “got over” their behavior during the Clarence Thomas hearings when they stood by and let Anita Hill be attacked for telling the truth about him, but I truly believed they were just old idiots who were clueless about sexual harassment. And I “got over” it when in Florida the party worked against Janet Reno in favor of the male candidate (who lost). But there is no getting over or excusing the behavior of the Obama campaign and supporters — this was pure unadulterated, evil, vindictive misogyny.

This is the perfect year and the perfect election to send a message to Howard Dean and any future leaders of the party that this will not be tolerated. They have already sat on their hands and let enough conservative justices be appointed to overturn Roe if they ever decide to (oh, no, we can’t filibuster Alito, that wouldn’t be nice), so that argument is nonsense. And they have actually stolen the nomination for a candidate who is less qualified and more frightening than the one being run by the Republicans. So I’m voting for McCain, I’m voting for any future opponent of Blanche Lincoln who is half-way acceptable, and I’m going to continue to do so until the Party Formerly Known as Democratic decides to readopt the principles that it used to stand for of equality and respect for everyone.

Obama has a bigger problem with Hispanics than with the bitter voters.
Hispanic people are hard working Catholics with a value system which is opposite to Black gangster culture that looks down on women as objects to be abused.
In Hispanic culture strong women are revered like the virgin Mary and Hillary.

Obama got a warm reception today at the Latino conference thingy, and McCain did not.

McCain has said he wouldn’t vote for his own immigration bill that he worked to pass. That hurt him with Latinos.

So we’ll see how that group lands. My thinking was that they would not turn out. Obama’s plan to facilitate legal status got alot of applause, so I could be wrong.

Comment by stateofdisbelief | 2008-06-29 01:06:28

Ann, you are one of the only people on NQ who seems to react to actual reality in a sane manner. Good for you. And you are right — Obama will utterly decimate McCain among Latinos. McCain of course once co-sponsored a rational, humane immigration bill, but he abandoned that months ago. Now he and the GOP in general are screwed with Latinos. Obama has that demographic in the bag.

McCain got a big round of applause when he told the attendees to the Latino Conference that he had tried to work for an immigration bill to deal with the immigrants here, but that the people wanted the borders secured first. I don’t think the majority of Latino voters want an uncontrolled border either. So far, John McCain is doing well with Latino voters. It’s not pc to mention, but there is real tension between the black and Latino communities.

I was reading on HotAir about how Bill isn’t supporting Obama (the KMA quote), and someone mentioned how Nixon quit instead of going through the impeachment process. Is that what the Dem elites are upset about? That Clinton stayed instead of giving Gore the go-ahead which may have secured his re-election. Is this why Gore blamed Bill for his losing the election? And why Kerry didn’t even want him around? The republicans seem to think that no one likes Bill, and I’m betting most of the Dem elite think so as well. They’d be wrong. But I think this is payback. They simply wanted a way to oust the Clintons but it backfired.

But you know what’s funny, Bill is the only two term President in over 40 years (maybe 50). And Obama is nothing more than a wannabe at this point. Then again, earning his dues is not something Obama can do. The Obama supporters don’t understand this little principle. Then again, they don’t understand much about anything.

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-06-29 01:09:33

I personally think that’s all it is. Bill and Hillary are from my original home state, Arkansas. They never were Washington elite types. And yet Bill was a brilliant politician who managed to do what they couldn’t.

I think they are the sore losers, personally. They never could close the deal and win.

Comment by Newly Independent | 2008-06-29 06:33:24

Absolutely. THAT’S the bottom line.

Bill Clinton - from his VERY humble beginnings, became President of the most powerful country in the world. Twice.

And even with his dirt, STILL left the White House well-loved and respected by many Americans and many people throughout the world.

And many of his peers - with all of their pedigrees, with all of their Ivy League degrees and privileged backgrounds and high social standings - haven’t even come CLOSE.

Comment by AnnieCarmel | 2008-06-29 02:26:13

AnninCA, It does smack a bit of the corny seal and the cutsie wootsie “unity” meeting in Unity, Hounds…all full or symbolism and all.

By the way, my home state too…originally from Van Buren.

Have always loved Big Bill. I was in a street crowd in SF when Bill came through on a campaign stop in the Mission District in ‘92 and where he was universally adored. There is some strange ego/envy that has always been directed toward him. Men especially need a healthy, strong ego to feel his equal. When he was weakened during the last term, many of them salivated in the hope he’d fall. They’ve nursed a grudge ever since. A few years ago he was in Monterey at the Panetta Institute for a talk and held the audience in his hand; never condescending, always bringing the crowd along to understand economics, strategies, etc.
Obama wants to take him down as a show of power. He’s trying to take his place. Dream on little boy, you’ll never measure up to him or his solid accomplishments. He’s still loved around the world even if his own party has stabbed him in the back. He’s in pretty good company. Churchill was dumped by the Pols of his day too but was loved by the people and came back stronger than ever.

Comment by beebop | 2008-06-29 06:53:02

Bill Clinton could read a Campbell’s soup can and make it sound interesting. Obama can’t speak without a telepromptr. There is no way to compare them. None. Real Deal vs. Posseur. Authentic vs. Phoney. Walk vs. Talk. Deeds vs. Words.

I don’t know if this story about Bill Clinton is true [basically saying Obama can kiss his ass]. But you know what? I hope it’s true.

The total disrespect and now this fake kissy-face Barack Obama is attempting is downright sickening. He went to town on Bill Clinton and his eight years in office during the primary, had no problem shredding HRC for her policy positions [which are now his positions] and then expects Bill Clinton to march right out there and whip the voters into shape?

Get real.

Let Obama have Jimmy Carter shill for him. He’s had no time or respect for either one of the Clintons for the last 18 months. If I were Bill Clinton, I’d tell him to screw it! With or without Bill, Obama lost my vote long ago.

Plenty of voters to LOSE in November.

Comment by 1950democrat | 2008-06-29 15:46:41

Yes, that’s over 4million already telling the pollsters that they will vote for McCain. (Same in April and more recently.)

And on blogs I see a lot of people saying they won’t vote for McCain but will not vote for Obama either. So add them above the 4million.

As to the people in justsaynodeal, nobody has a count, but iirc Diane has got about 125,000 supportive emails. Or was that 125 million?

Anyway she could use some donations, she’s getting swamped with people and media.

Cryin’ all the time
You ain’t nothin’ but a hound dog
Cryin’ all the time
Well, you ain’t never caught a rabbit
And you ain’t no friend of mine

Well they said you was high-classed
Well, that was just a lie
Yeah they said you was high-classed
Well, that was just a lie
Well, you ain’t never caught a rabbit
And you ain’t no friend of mine

You ain’t nothin’ but a hound dog

Well, that was just a lie

And you ain’t no friend of mine

Well they said you was high-classed

How much did it cost for you to sell out Hillary and the American people??? I cann’t believe that all the Democrats are being bought out! WTF?

Comment by bornagaindem | 2008-06-29 08:08:23

I like your letter to Rendell but I will point out that most people consider me pretty leftist and I take umbrage at the fact that you think it is only moderate democrats that don’t support Obama.

In fact one of my main reasons for not supporting Obama from the beginning was all his trash talk about the democrats. He constantly talked about bringing people in Washington together. Implying that democrats were equally responsible for for the gridlock there. Implying that democrats weren’t compromising enough. Well I considered that the warning siren that this guy was not a leftist and if anything wanted to make even more compromises with the repugs. Absolutely the last thing I want to see.

I liked Hillary because she has no illusions about what the repugs are capable of and will stand her ground and make them come to her rather than the constant crawling to the right that the usual cowardly democratic pol exhibits. So Obama showing more of his true core beliefs now is no surprise to me. I’d go so far as to call him a DINO.

Comment by lute | 2008-06-29 08:15:06

I am definitely to the left of Obama.
Like Krugman says, Obama’s health plan is Republican - way further to the right than HRC’s. Ditto his economic recovery plan. As far as environmental - they guy’s wife has a full length white mink coat. What clueless planet does she live on?

Comment by 1950democrat | 2008-06-29 15:56:24

Yes, Obama is a corporate dream candidate, always has been. He got a good on-paper liberal voting record on things like abortion (which the corporations favor) but off the record he always changes the fine print to favor the money interests.

He’s a token ‘reformer’, to pacify the reform movement that a ‘reformer’ has been elected, but in fact always sides with the money machine. (Married MIchelle whose father was with Daley Sr, then later endorsed Daley Jr as a ‘healing thing’.)

Like Pelosi, he has a reputation among shallow thinkers as extreme liberal — but it’s really just extreme elitism.

He is okay; don’t be too harsh on him. They give him a very short time and he makes some points. He smiles a lot –maybe it’s nervousness but it is good antidote to the “bitter” label. Try to listen to him without watching.

I personally prefer Diane Mantouvalos. She was on Cavuto re: Just say no deal a couple of weeks ago.

She’s smart and eloquent and quick to reply on her feet.

Comment by Karma | 2008-06-29 11:42:59

Yeah

He looked a bit nervous but he was respectful and I agree the smiling is a good antidote.

He got across the point that these groups agree on not voting for Obama, and was respectful about everyone’s choice in that regard.

Voting for McCain or not…etc.

It was also a nice change that a man spoke about the issues.

Comment by fif | 2008-06-29 09:46:57

I agree. He’s a nice guy, but too mellow and not specific enough. This is a serious threat to our democracy, and not just a “tv moment” for people. I would like to see a variety of representatives who have some experience with public speaking, and are prepared with specific answers to the coalition’s goals and the repeated dismissive attitude about being “sore losers” and why McCain’s opposing policies are being considered.

We need a rajin’ Cajun type–someone fiesty and forceful.

Comment by fif | 2008-06-29 09:41:00

I get frustrated when I see Puma speakers interviewed, because there is not an emphasis on the DNC’s manipulation and violation of the party’s own rules and principles to select and force on us an illegitimate nominee. His experience, lack of judgment, weak character, and hypocrisy are all secondary (but important!) to this fundamental fact. The DNC rigged the nomination–period. THAT is a key reason why we will not endorse him.

Also, specific examples of all of these points is very important, so the groups do not look like they are just being emotional and reactionary. Few interviewees have a ready and convincing answer to why Clinton supporters could back McCain because his policies are so different. If we want to go beyond being a novelty, the message(s) need to be clear, strong and consistent.

Comment by Gary McGowan | 2008-06-29 10:25:17

Re Telegraph article on President Bill Clinton:

“Bitter,” my ass!

Bill could be angry or saddened about what’s happening to the United States of America, and other events around the world, which he might perceive as connected. I assume that, unlike most of the U.S. blogging world, he gives thought daily to the scope of things beyond Obama and the DNC, that he knows what the European Council on Foreign Relations is currently up to, and what Karl Popper’s book, “The Open Society…” was about, and that Popper was Soro’s mentor, and that Soros is a founding member of the ECFR. If there is a deathly disaster coming economically, he sees it; if things are falling into place for terrible wars, he sees it. If the U.S.A. is relentlessly being torn to shreds, the people being turned against one another instead of unified to a noble cause, he sees it.

The Sunday Telegraph, a flagship publication of British right-wing, is hardly on the side of the General Welfare or the lower 80 percent of the economic spectrum which Hillary Clinton has arguably spent her public life representing and trying to help.

How would WE like to be in Bill’s shoes?

Yes, he is a human being, imperfect. Yes, he is a politician. He is also very intelligent and informed and experienced.

I’m not bitter. I’m angry. The war is not over. Bitter implies having lost. That’s just the “meme” the Telegraph and the cartel media are pissing all over us. To them, I spit expletives. They are below the scum in the filthiest of gutters.

I can’t read the thoughts of Bill and Hillary Clinton and I don’t have a crystal ball. But I know what I know, and I know how much I don’t know.

Our children–future generations–are going to suffer beyond our imaginings because we are so entertainment-oriented, stupidified and helpless.

Unless we choose to change. Very, very soon.

The last two paragraphs of the Telegraph article:

“Joe Klein, the author of Primary Colours, a fictionalised account of Mr Clinton’s 1992 election, who has known the former president for 20 years, said he also heard that he was ‘very, very bitter’, from people who have spoken with him.

‘It’s time for him to get over it or go off and do his charitable work. He knows the rules of the road. What’s going on now is kind of strange. I think his behaviour is really, really shocking.’”

Time magazine, Joe Klein’s column of March 26, 2008: “Is Al Gore the Answer?”. . .

Klein predicts that “if this race continues to slide downhill, the answer to the Democrat Party’s dilemma may turn out to be Al Gore.” Klein projects a scenario in which the Democratic Party elders decide that neither Hillary or Obama is viable, so they convince 100 or so superdelegates to sit out the first vote at the Convention, denying both candidates the 2025 votes needed for nomination. They then approach Gore to be the nominee “for the good of the party”–with Obama as his running mate.

Klein adds that one “prominent fund-raiser” told him, “Gore-Obama is the ticket a lot of people [Who? Soros? the DNC?] wanted in the first place.”

Yesterday I read myiq2xu at Klownhaus, Which ends with…

“Now the situation isn’t hopeless. There are alternatives. The Democratic convention isn’t until August. One alternative would be to nominate Hillary Clinton. Of course, that would anger the rabid Obama supporters, and despite their “get over it” rhetoric they would likely refuse to support Hillary.

But like I said, it isn’t about Hillary. Even though we believe her to be by far the best available candidate, there are other Democrats that PUMA’s would support. Al Gore probably tops that list, but Chris Dodd, Joe Biden and Wesley Clarke [sic] are qualified for the job, as would be Madeline Albright or Dianne Feinstein. There are others as well.”

Well, as Will Bower said, we do agree on one thing . . .

I’ve maintained for months that (unelectable) Obama is just a toy to take out the Clintons because Senator Clinton is the closest thing to an FDR Democrat on the horizon. Soros and mega-speculator financier friends are holding who in the wings for a surprise draft by the superdelegates at the convention in late August? My bet? Al Gore. He’s one of them. The Telegraph will love him. The globalist cartels have him by the balls. And if that’s the plan, maybe Bill and Hillary Clinton can smell the stink of it.

Comment by Roger | 2008-06-29 11:21:12

It appeares that Obama’s ass-kissers(that includes liberal news/medias) are trying to make us believe that Bill already lost his reputation as a former US president for not bending to the knees of their Lord Obama and following his orders. For me, it is not Bill who is in verge of losing his reputation but it is the Party leaders who already lost trust/respect of its members as they continue to exhibit paranoid ideations(possibly the side-effects of Obama’s Kool-Aid) by labeling Bill as a racist person. At least, Bill did not attended a racist church listening hate-mongering craps for over 20 years. People who are claiming that Bill may be losing his reputation are same people who are blowing their empty bags since the beginning of this year. Go Bill!! You are a great person and anyone who claims that you are a racist are racist theselves to begin with.

PRES. BILL CLINTON,

WE RESPECT AND LOVE YOU FOR BEING THERE FOR OUR HILLARY! TAKE CARE OF YOUR HEALTH AND DON’T THINK ABOUT THESE OBAMATHUGS WHOSE MOTHERS WERE ‘PUNISHED WITH CHILDREN’ AS OBAMA WOULD HAVE IT!…

PumaDems for Bill!
With Gratitude.
