The Democratic Party Dummies’ Guide on How to Appear Unpatriotic

The Democratic party needs a updated lesson in politics.  I have never, ever seen anything such as what I have witnessed. I have only one recommendation, move away and separate the government policies and the military service of your opponent in your criticism, they don’t mix or belong in the grand scheme of things.  It’s not a requirement for the position they are seeking to attain,  and should be left out because there are hundreds of other issues that can be addressed that affect ALL the American people in our country as a whole on a daily basis. When you open the door to these type of comments, it has the ability to get out of hand and hurt more than help, when people become over zealous in their attempts to prove a point, that they eventually cross the line.

Anyone who has the audacity, the sheer gall to write an article stating any veteran received a lenient form of torture as a means to discredit the source, or attempt to paint a former prisoner of war as some form of war criminal, just to show someone else in a positive light, does not grasp or truly comprehend the possible backlash that could result from these articles. When those who have lost loved ones, or who have friends and family already deployed, and come across comments such as this:

"What I’ve never understood is how getting shot down, captured, and tortured makes one a hero. I’m willing to concede the point, but still, I’ve always thought that heroism required some special sort of action, like the private who throws himself on the grenade to save his buddies or the guy who braves enemy fire to take out an enemy position or the Swift Boat officer who takes off into the brush, disregarding his own safety, to go after someone who attacked him and his men. I’ve never thought that everyone who is in the military or even who sees combat is therefore a hero. I thought that to be a hero was a matter of special distinction even within the military fraternity."

"A president who breaks the law is a threat to the very structure of our government….President Bush has repeatedly violated the law for six years." Al Gore

It opens a flood gate that no matter how you may spin it, will come out as being unpatriotic and out of touch. Nor will it make anyone see the the presumptive nominee, or the party itself in a favorable light if it appears they are broadcasting a message to their supporters, that the job that they do, is not really important.  I am sure there are many who feel 100 percent differently on exactly what constitutes a "hero" in their eyes.  Democratic party, do not go this route, do not attempt to go down the path of discrediting something many of you do not understand or truly know about.

This"Hollywood" version of a definition of a hero in the above comment is an example of being not only out of touch with our reality, but exactly what it is we do on a day to day basis.  Use whatever judgment you deem necessary, but think long and hard about how you attempt to discredit the opponents military service. If you want to state that prior service is not a requirement for a president, which it isn’t, there are many ways to make the statement and send the message. But get your facts straight.

However blogs such as this is what causes righteous fury through my veins.

There is a difference, a big difference when you label veterans War Criminals based on their military service.  You may not agree with the war or the administration, however we do not hold the power to determine where and when we deploy.  The government officials who you elect are the ones who make these choices.  So one would assume you would use sound judgment when making the decisions and choices of those whose positions hold the determining factor on the issue of national security. You get what you pay for. If you use frivolous means and reasons in making a important decision for the highest position our nation has to offer, do not become dissatisfied and take it out on us, when you develop buyers remorse later on down the line because what you thought you were getting differed greatly from what you received.

What so many people fail to realize is that despite how any of you may feel about the current administration or the war, this is a source of pride for so many.  We volunteer, we raise our right hand, and we take an oath.  So when I read the "scare tactics" with statements being made that if Senator McCain becomes president the draft could come back into effect.  I, personally, speaking for myself, take it as a direct insult. Because your making the statement and giving the impression that there is something wrong with serving your country.   And to me, thats pathetic.  You focus on our war time mission and not what we do as a whole in garrison.  The esprit de corps, the pride, and the overall knowledge of representing something a whole lot more meaningful and bigger than what is portrayed by the CNNs and MSNBCs is the information you do not get.

This provides a stepping stone for millions.  It is not all about "war". But it is according to the blogs, and the media, who seem to have developed a difficulty in separating the two. Before you jump to making judgments based on what you see and hear in the MSM. Get the facts. No one thinks going to war is a pretty picture. Man up. Quit thinking with your heart and use your head. Constantly chanting "bring us home" is not going to do anything any faster or solve anything. The only thing it shows is buyers remorse and your ability to not truly grasp and comprehend why its important to "vet" individuals.  To "ask" questions and not go on "just words". To learn from previous mistakes and stop using the same bad judgement twice based on pre written words alone. To view and analyze a situation by not thinking about what you just want and need, but what we ALL need as a whole.  To look at the overall picture and not what anyone wants you to see is a sign of common sense.

As well as being able to understand that just words will not lower gas prices. Stating comparisons will not give you Universal Health Care. Speeches never make new jobs. And hopes and dreams will never keep the lights on and food on the table. And motivation and inspiration, if you "hope" hard enough, will never, ever, put your kids through college. That’s a fairy tale.  Even the best teacher our country has to offer can give the slowest student the ability to grasp the fact that things such as this cannot be taught overnight. No matter how many words are used to say otherwise. Because in the real world, things are accomplished with realistic actions, based on plans, fact and not fiction. That, in my opinion, is a true solution for america.

What you don’t understand and fail to realize is that decisions such as this that are made will not always make you the most popular person but this isn’t a popularity contest, its reality.  And in reality you have to set aside what you personally think is best, and think about how it will affect our entire nation and the impact it will have in dealing with other countries.

But then, that is when the American people come into play.  If you don’t like the choices and decisions, we have this event that happens every four years here in the United States.  It’s called "voting". Think about it.  It’s amazing really.  See, when you "vote" you have a variety of people who are seeking to attain certain positions.  All of the candidates have various messages and platforms where they state what their intentions are if you elect them into office.  But what is truly wonderful is the fact that you are able to actually research yourself everything the individuals have accomplished. All of it accessible to the general public, right at your finger tips.  You can view their voting records, past bills, a whole wealth of things to help you in the pre voting process.  You also have the ability to ask questions beforehand on their stance on the issues.  They have it this way so that later on down the line, if you ever regret your decision, you can just blame yourself and no one else because the free information was right there in front of you to research.  Because only an idiot would take words at face value for the highest office in our nation.

Voting is a wonderful tool that allows you to use your own judgment on who is best to do a certain job. But certain jobs come with certain responsibilities and have a certain purpose.  And just like the firefighters whose job it is to put out fires, the police officers out on the streets who have loved ones who may worry each and every night they are out there, still fighting and attempting to prevent crime, we have a job to do also.  You want us home. We get that. But right now, we still have a job to do.

But in the meantime, instead of criticizing what you may not understand, show your support, get involved.  The reason people might not take your criticism and remarks seriously, might be based on the fact that its hard to think people have our countries best interest at heart if you use frivolous things as reasons for anyone to hold a position. Face reality. You get what you pay for. If you choose anyone based on just their nationality and their words, why would you be surprised at any of the choices and decisions they make? Especially when you freely admit you only chose them based on their nationality and well, just their words?  If you chose to overlook their stance on the issues, you bought it, now you own it.  If you make the decision to choose someone based on a prior job or position that they held because you see similarities in the current one they are attempting to attain, it’s your fault if the expectations do not coincide with what you want them to be.

I am in the military.  Does that make me qualified to become president? No. Does it mean I should vote for a candidate based on that alone? Hell no.  I am black.  Does that make me entitled to become president? No. Does it mean I will vote for the candidate based on that alone? F%$C* No. So what is left?  Do I understand what the word "rules" mean? Yes.  Do I follow the rules? Yes, very closely, I like to read, and according to the rules, I probably will see many of you in Denver….but..

Before you start laying down the blame and pointing fingers and making accusations, try stating in the same sentence what you have done when it comes to evaluating and vetting the individual in question, believe me, it will make your remarks and criticism more valid.  Right now, there are so many who don’t even have a leg to stand on with their remarks.  There are avenues available such as Soldiers Angels, who send care packages to the same people overseas who everyone likes to use in talking points as a means to build up their message. Look at the overall big picture for yourself, instead of what they want you to see and believe.  If you want "change", it may behoove you to "change" how you do business.  Instead of continually stating what the problem is, why not start thinking of a solution?

You only get one chance to make the right decision before we all have to live with the consequences.

"We had the teacher, you gave us the student. We had solutions for America, you gave us hopes and dreams, when all we wanted was reality.  We wanted change you gave us race baiting, we asked questions and got stuck with paid bloggers who constantly attack. We wanted the truth and got stuck with a whole lot of biased media and social pandering."  This year I say No Deal. This unity pony sucks.  P.U.M.A
