Is Democracy “Free For All”? (Video)

Watch the trailer of John Wellington Ennis’ new film, Free For All here. Then click on the link below to watch the entire film for free.

FREE FOR ALL! One Dude’s Quest to Save Democracy was aptly released on July 4, 2008. If you think we’ve just experienced caucus fraud, this beautifully produced film will remind you that we’ve got more big fish to fry.

The film hearkens back to the 2000 and 2004 election nightmares. Diebold voter machines were supposed to fix any leftover 2000 hanging-chad problems. However, leading up to the election, there were many warnings and red flags that the “fix” was in the machines, in that they were easily hackable, and the company’s neutrality was questionable. A simple retrospective statement by Sen. Robert Hagen (D-Ohio) describes his Diebold voting encounter:

It was one of the first times you got to press using the electronic voting machine. When I pressed Kerry, it went over to Bush.

The film explores the 2000 and 2004 elections, including: the Ohio and Florida debacles, missing ballot boxes, veracity of exit polls, illegal purge of voter rolls, restrictions to, and misinformation about, election day voter sign-in, and much, much more. In conclusion, the filmmaker opines:

“If Democracy isn’t free for all, then it’s not free for me.”

Watch the film. What do you think? Is Democracy Free For All, or a free for all? It’s in our hands . . . or is it?

i my opinion after seeing what the dems have done in this primary it is clear that they have fixed elections before just as they did this one..i think al gore tried to fix the election in 2000, and got a big surprise when it didnt work…al gore is lying and scamming this country…making a fortune off the american people…im glad he wasnt selected and now that the truth is out about him, americans are glad too..im sure that obama stole the election for his senate seat, im sure that the dems selected him, even though they know the truth about obama, who is clearly not qualified to be a senator let alone president of this country..al gore should be sued for his lies and stealing against americans..30 thousand scientists say hes lying..but hes making lots of money off us, while going around the world saying americans are messing it up! sounds like a traitor to me! and Mr Reid, saying that oil makes us sick, well mr reid is it just american oil that makes us sick? or is it middle east oil? who are you kidding, and why did you and al gore think it was funny that the pet food was poisoned, ? so that your buddies on wall street could get their trillons in subs, so they could send you all campaign funds? you mr reid and gore are the sickos! and why havent you come out and told the people that obama likes taking cocaine in the backseat with larry sinclair?

Comment by Alawyer | 2008-07-06 11:40:32

Tish, you sound scary.

Global warming is real. Every legitimate scientist agrees, and you’d know that if you paid attention to any news except the one crackpot far-right radio station you apparently listen to. One of the many, many reasons I voted for Hillary is that I thought she had both the desire and the cajones to do something about it.

Let me guess, you still think there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq? And I’d wager $10 you voted for Huckabee in the primaries. You definitely don’t sound like a Hillary supporter.

Comment by tampagurl | 2008-07-06 13:11:43

Alawyer, don’t be so hard on Tish. All of our politicians have a self serving interest and we should question them. I heard on the news Al Gore has made 100 million on his global warming ventures. Everyone’s getting rich but us and we are the only ones sacrificing. I believe Hillary wants the best for our country but even our Hillary has some self serving interest that’s just human nature. Also, don’t say she doesn’t sound like a Hillary supporter; Hillary had many supporters that were Repubs, Indy’s and Dems.

Comment by Seattle Moss | 2008-07-06 14:08:34

We are actually in an inter Glacial period.
Yes global warming is real but what will happen is as green house gases build up the great Greenland ice sheet will melt and cool the North Atlantic drift current that warms Europe. When Europe cools that will trigger the next ice age.
The Greenland ice sheet is the tipping point in each of the last six ice ages.

Comment by Lou | 2008-07-06 14:28:01

The clear cutting in WA., OR., and Northern CA Shasta area is contibuting to the rape of the earth and global warming..our tipping point is in 10 years if they do not stop this.

Comment by Seattle Moss | 2008-07-06 14:47:54

I agree with you Lou!
Global warming will be bad enough as we all know, but the trigger of the next Ice age will be the end of civilization.

Although I think the whole lie detector incident destroyed Sinclair’s credibility, I think the real reason he doesn’t go after this is there may be a grain of truth. Obama has a history of cocaine use. As someone who spent over a decade treating drug addicts, I feel confident in saying that it is a very, very, VERY rare thing for one of them to stop. What I am getting at is, there is a very high probability that Obama still uses drugs. The last thing he would want is discussion of that issue. It only takes one pic of him with that little glass dick in his mouth and booooooom…..his campaign goes up in smoke.

Can you clear that up?

Me and my two brothers were on my mother’s passport since we were so young. Can’t say if we needed our BCs.

Comment by StrawberrybitesBarky | 2008-07-05 22:59:37

That’s not how the State Department decides to issue passports - on one person’s say-so.

Comment by WildChild | 2008-07-05 22:55:11

Now it’s not. BUt in Indonesia back when BOBO was ten, that may have been all BOBO needed….plus of course starting out on his mom’s passport.

Comment by believe | 2008-07-05 22:59:06

It’s not how it worked for my passport - and I’m older than Obama. To get an American passport on your own, you need a birth certificate.

Comment by WildChild | 2008-07-05 23:02:39

Right, now you do. But in 1972 when BOBO moved from Indonesia to go to the ritzy prep school in Hawaii that is wealthy grandparents were sending him to, you can’t say the same was true. It was a whole different United States back then.

Or perhaps he is the reincarnated dark-miened tyrant Xerxes, sent to compel all Sparta as well as Heartland Religious Values Voters to kneel before him and render unto him tribute and the very flower of their womanhood! (Spartans loved them their womenfolk, you know.)

Actually, they “loved them their menfolk”. Male homosexuality was encouraged in the Spartan culture. Being militaristic, they felt that it helped “bond” the soldiers to one another, so that they would be more willing to die for one another in battle. In fact, young boys were introduced to homosexual practices as soon as they were ready for military service (A requirement of Spartan culture). By the time a boy was old enough to take a wife, his only sexual experiences had been with men, so it was a custom for women to shave their heads on their wedding nights, so their husbands could fantasize that they were with a man. Women only served one purpose in Spartan culture—procreation and upkeep of the household.

Strawberry, It depends on when he changed his name as to the reason. He may have done it when he moved to the main land, because he said he didn’t fit in. Also, back when Obama was born if the parents weren’t married the child was given the mothers last name,

It is not true that back when Obama was born if the parents were not married the child was given the mothers last name. My cousin gave birth out of wedlock the same year Obama was born and the father’s name was given to the child and placed on the legal documents.

Well I’m 53 and I’m going by what I remember as a child. I remember relatives going to court to try and prove someone was the father because it was before DNA and they were not automatically given the fathers last name.

Given his father had other wives, would a marriage in the US be legal and are Kenyan marriages recognized by the US even though they are polygamist?

Is a passport the issue or the birth certificate? Children under the age of twelve years traveling with a parent didn’t need a separate passport, at least in 1980 when my son accompanied me out of the country. He needed no passport to return to the US without me to join his father.

He was listed on my passport until his twelfth birthday and I don’t remember having to supply his birth certificate. The confusion about Obama is directly related to his parentage and location of birth.

The only evidence is that given by him in his own words and the copy of his birth certificate listed on his website. All he needs to do is make the hospital records available and the question would be resolved. I’m sorry, but a website is not proof and we know what his word is worth. For me, the question of illegitimate birth is irrelevant, but his place of birth is a Constitutional issue.

You think anyone cares about that sort of thing? Why would they? They’re not voting for his mother to be president?

That just proves you are not older than Obama, because you would know why. AA’s would think that he did it to get the their vote and white people wouldn’t like it because his father abandoned him and they would think he was disloyal to his white family.

Comment by believe | 2008-07-05 23:17:45

He did what to get AA’s vote? In what way would this affect whether AA support him?

And why would white people not vote for a candidate if it turned out his father left his mother before Obama was born? After all, that’s not much different from what Obama says nearly every day — that his father left the family when he was two years old.

Comment by WildChild | 2008-07-05 23:19:58

BOBO called Bill Clinton a racist to get the AA vote.

Why shouldn’t Obama supply his birth certificate to the public? John McCain hired lawyers to remove any doubt about his citizenship and both of his parents were American and he was born on a US Naval Base. I also would like to know why there was no public investigation into the break in of his passport files.

The CEO of the company whose employees are accused of looking at the passport files of Obama is John O. Brennan, president and CEO of the Analysis Corp. and a foreign policy advisor to his campaign.

His file was accessed three times by employees of that company and when the news was released, Kos, Olbermann and other bloggers immediately began to accuse Sen. Clinton and/or the Bush administration. There should be a public testimony from these people.

That file contained information from his birth certificate, occasions when he traveled out of the country and his destination, as well as his SS# and credit information.

It seems strange, to me at least, the CEO of the company behind it is still a member of his campaign.

There is no reason to believe the truth would change the votes of AAs and if he has presented the truth about himself and his history, there is no reason to believe it would affect any voter. The race card was used by the Obama campaign and that is immoral. There were memos from his campaign to the press before the South Carolina primary falsely accusing the Clintons and any claim otherwise is spin. Statement on PBS News Hour appearance of Rep. John Lewis:

“It is unfortunate that people have tried to distort what Mrs. Clinton had to say about Dr. King.”

“I think there has been a deliberate and systematic attempt by some people in the Obama campaign to really fan the flames about race and to really distort what Senator Clinton said. I understood and I think most right thinking people understood what she said.

“President and Senator Clinton have a record, a history, a very long history of bringing people together. No right thinking American would ever think that Senator or President Clinton would ever do anything that would use the race card”

“I must tell you…I’m trying to set the record straight…the Obama camp is doing something else, theyr’e sending out memos to the media trying to suggest that the Clintons are playing the race card.”

-Rep. John Lewis on News Hour 1/14

He has shown himself to be less than forthcoming on many issues and outright lies and misrepresentations of facts on numerous occasions.

The “Socratic Method” of debate may be intellectually satisfying to you, but we are selecting a president, not discussing the meaning of life. We don’t have the luxury or the time to devote to your pomposity when our futures depend on making an informed decision.

Hard to believe you have nothing to say about this matter. This film is probably the most important film you will see this decade and you all choose to discuss Obama. There is plenty of space for that here at NQ, but this is a thread for the film. I would like to discuss it and ways we can correct this huge fucking problem.
Don’t get me wrong, I am NOT a Obama supporter. (lest I be drawn and quartered here) I was hoping to see some intelligent discussion of this hugely important issue of elections in our country and all I read here is Obama, blah, blah, blah.

“From the instant that he felt that the Democratic nomination was in his hands, Obama has moved relentlessly to the right in a breathtaking, stunning exhibition of cynicism, duplicity, and fraudulent campaigning. Everything he stood for has been thrown overboard, and Obama has broken his verbal contract with his own core voters and donors.”

Mr. O says Bush has not committed an impeachable offense:

Obama, a Harvard law school graduate and former lecturer on constitutional law at the University of Chicago, said impeachment should not be used as a standard political tool.

“I think you reserve impeachment for grave, grave breaches, and intentional breaches of the president’s authority,” he said.

“I believe if we began impeachment proceedings we will be engulfed in more of the politics that has made Washington dysfunction,” he added. “We would once again, rather than attending to the people’s business, be engaged in a tit-for-tat, back-and-forth, non-stop circus.”

Instead, Mr. O thinks Bush and his cohorts had “really dumb policies”:

The question was inspired by a recent report by ABC News, confirmed by the Associated Press, that high-level officials including Vice President Dick Cheney and former Cabinet secretaries Colin Powell, John Ashcroft and Donald Rumsfeld, among others, met in the White House and discussed the use of waterboarding and other torture techniques on terrorism suspects.

I mentioned the report in my question, and said “I know you’ve talked about reconciliation and moving on, but there’s also the issue of justice, and a lot of people — certainly around the world and certainly within this country — feel that crimes were possibly committed” regarding torture, rendition, and illegal wiretapping. I wanted to know how whether his Justice Department “would aggressively go after and investigate whether crimes have been committed.”

Here’s his answer, in its entirety:

What I would want to do is to have my Justice Department and my Attorney General immediately review the information that’s already there and to find out are there inquiries that need to be pursued. I can’t prejudge that because we don’t have access to all the material right now. I think that you are right, if crimes have been committed, they should be investigated. You’re also right that I would not want my first term consumed by what was perceived on the part of Republicans as a partisan witch hunt because I think we’ve got too many problems we’ve got to solve.

So this is an area where I would want to exercise judgment — I would want to find out directly from my Attorney General — having pursued, having looked at what’s out there right now — are there possibilities of genuine crimes as opposed to really bad policies. And I think it’s important– one of the things we’ve got to figure out in our political culture generally is distinguishing betyween really dumb policies and policies that rise to the level of criminal activity. You know, I often get questions about impeachment at town hall meetings and I’ve said that is not something I think would be fruitful to pursue because I think that impeachment is something that should be reserved for exceptional circumstances. Now, if I found out that there were high officials who knowingly, consciously broke existing laws, engaged in coverups of those crimes with knowledge forefront, then I think a basic principle of our Constitution is nobody above the law — and I think that’s roughly how I would look at it.

The bottom line is that: Obama sent a clear signal that — unlike impeachment, which he’s ruled out and which now seems a practical impossibility — he is at the least open to the possibility of investigating potential high crimes in the Bush White House.

So, Mr. O doesn’t think Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld/Ashcroft committed “grave and intentional breaches of the president’s authority,” but instead they implemented “really dumb policies.”

See, to Obama, warrantless wiretapping is a “really dumb policy.”

And, once you accept Mr. O’s position that Bush’s crimes were actually “really dumb policies,” then it tells you where Mr. O is going on the author’s claim of “potential high crimes in the Bush White House.” Nowhere.

Most people were offended when Bush mixed religion and politics. Obama is now taking that “really dumb policy” to a further extreme.

What part of these clues about Obama is it that people don’t understand?

Comment by StrawberrybitesBarky | 2008-07-05 23:11:11

Bush deserves to be impeached. But we all know that there are not the two-thirds needed in the Senate to remove him from office even if the House could pass a resolution of impeachment.

Comment by WildChild | 2008-07-05 23:31:36

Impeachment is a function of the house.

Comment by believe | 2008-07-05 23:40:06

The House votes articles of impeachment with a majority vote. But the Senate removes after a trial where the Senators are jurors/judges and the trial is overseen by the Chief Justice. You need a 2/3 vote to remove.

Remember the situation with Bill Clinton - The Judiciary Committee sent forward 4 articles of impeachment, the House passed 2. The Senate didn’t get anywhere near 2/3 on these; in fact neither got a majority.

Comment by WildChild | 2008-07-05 23:42:22

irrelevent, not guilty is one of two possibilities that conclude a trial yet charges are still filed.

Comment by believe | 2008-07-05 23:45:47

A criminal trial and an impeachment are different matters altogether. There was quite a lot written about that in 1998 and 1999. If you’re interested in reading up on this, I’m sure you could locate some of that if you wanted. It was both in law journals and in the popular press.

Comment by WildChild | 2008-07-05 23:56:28

Irrelevant, a criminal trial is different from a civil trial is different from impeachment is different from small claims. A grievance still has to be filed and there’s no guarantee in the outcome of the proceeding. LMAO you’re saying Bush shouldn’t be impeached because he may not be removed… like it matters or something.

Comment by PInk Panther | 2008-07-06 02:18:16

The Impeachment Process in a Nutshell

1. The House Judiciary Committee deliberates over whether to initiate an impeachment inquiry.
2. The Judiciary Committee adopts a resolution seeking authority from the entire House of Representatives to conduct an inquiry. Before voting, the House debates and considers the resolution. Approval requires a majority vote.
3. The Judiciary Committee conducts an impeachment inquiry, possibly through public hearings. At the conclusion of the inquiry, articles of impeachment are prepared. They must be approved by a majority of the Committee.
4. The House of Representatives considers and debates the articles of impeachment. A majority vote of the entire House is required to pass each article. Once an article is approved, the President is, technically speaking, “impeached” — that is subject to trial in the Senate.
5. The Senate holds trial on the articles of impeachment approved by the House. The Senate sits as a jury while the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court presides over the trial.
6. At the conclusion of the trial, the Senate votes on whether to remove the President from office. A two-thirds vote by the Members present in the Senate is required for removal.
7. If the President is removed, the Vice-President assumes the Presidency under the chain of succession established by Amendment XXV.

Those who hate FDR and what he stood for will hate this video. Among many other valuable ideas, it also contains oodles of rare historical political cartoons and movie footage.

The hi-res (MP4) version is just over 700Mb, but well worth the effort even if you have to take a long time to download it. I play this MP4 (and about every other vid format) using the excellent and free MPUI, This MP4 is also compatible with Quicktime / iTunes and VLC. A link to VLC is available at the site, right next to the video link.

The film is history — Kerry was a damn jerk and always will be.

But what we are dealing with in the Dem Primary season are the UNDEMOCRATIC caucus — and team Obama gamed the caucus system.

Team Obama used the caucuses and the Red states — and the oh so gullible AA voters who were voting for the skin color and NOT the Character of the candidate.

So what in 2006 the DNC got their majority — and hot damn — the DNC is just a corrupt and dirty as the Republicans.

Impeachment is off the table — the US is still in Iraq — Soldiers (and sailors) are still dying. The corruption is still going on.

The problem is probably not — Republicans BAD — Democrats — GOOD.

Dean and Brazile the DNC rules — are dirty — why the hell have the states invest in a primary when the vote is meaningless — because the DNC has already chosen their guy.

The game rules have changed — and the voters are still the loser.

In Washington State we were screwed by the Democratic Party who threw out our vote for a primary — the WA state Dem leadership DECIDED to ignore the primary vote — and hold a caucus. Therefore it is the Democratic Party leadership that is corrupt.

Interesting history lesson — but now the game has changed. Votes do NOT count — the decision is being made by in back rooms — and voters are NOT invited.

OK — that’s my review of the film.

Northwest Rain — states loved caucuses because they don’t cost the state anything. Hillary and Obama precinct captains did the job. Were they a mess of course? Because only activists showed up and the Obama people threatened Hillary’s people. I heard that Patti Solis Doyle who was Hillary’s Campaign Mgr. was really working for the other side. It was Solis Doyle who told Hillary not to invest in Caucuses because they wouldn’t matter. She was a good pal of Axelrod. They thought of everything. Maybe one day when the Repubs are in charge of Congress they will investigate this crooked nomination. There is a law that while Parties are private entities they have no right to cheat the system in what would be a Federal Election.

We have fought the republicans tooth and nail against voter ID laws because it disenfranchises the poor, black and elderly who may not be able to get an ID. Those folks typically vote democrat. Obama and Axelrod knew this and played on it when he brought all those young punks to those caucuses, including mine. I have no idea who those kids were or where they lived, but they did not belong in my district. We’re in Nisqually, a small rural farming/military community and kids with $20,000 street bikes, waxed eyebrows and $500 Italian leather motor cycle jackets stand out. Not to mention the fact that they were armed with rightwing anti Hillary talking points which led me to believe they were plants of some sort. That’s called cheating in my book.

They could have been anybody. You didn’t have to show ID or proof of residency in the WA caucuses.

BOINGO! Obama knew this and played on it. He’s a son of a bitch. Now, I’m actually thinking it may be a good idea having ID’s at caucuses. That pisses me off.

Northwest rain — I’m sorry about your WA State. The film, however, is not history. General election fraud is one more thing on top of all the Dem caucus fraud. Why so cavalier? For whatever candidates are in the running, all the problems we had back then, which are still not solved, will come into play. My bet is still on Hillary, as Obama is self-destructing by the minute. Or what if the choice is Obama vs. a McCain protest vote? Our votes aren’t secure, the entire system is a mess and needs an overhaul. Either way, voters lose. My review of your review.

Let’s all encourage the guy who made this film to do another on the 08 Dem Primary. I hope he’s working on it right now and it is released before the Dem Convention!

I am terrified that the 2008 fix is already in, and been in for a while. The establishment has made it very clear from all sides that Obama is the next president. Those who sit at the top of the ruling-class food chain have already for any number of reasons chosen Obama and this election process is completely staged in order to keep Americans believing that they have a choice in government.

Many are wondering why the GOP hasn’t already torn Obama apart and are speculating they are waiting till after the DNC convention. I’m afraid this is not so. I’m afraid they have long planned to sit this one out.

So, whatever you do — do not use electronic voting. Try to persuade anyone you know from using it. Find out what other methods are available in your area. Organize locally to get as many as possible to some other form of accountable non-electronic voting.

This was on the front page of MarketWatch on July 4th:

Obama a shoo-in, forecasting models say

They conveniently leave out the power of media corporations in shaping elections, and of course the writer is working for one.

Every week this poll shows the same results, though started over every Friday.

MSM leads you to believe its a tight race. I know this is a small percentage of America but its a good cross section.

I believe if Obama wins it will have been another fixed election. Do we really have a say or are they just letting us think we do.

Comment by Hope Floats | 2008-07-06 01:52:20

The only way they can fix the election is to depress voter turnout through media manipulation. Cheating can only go so far. Look at the Indiana primary. Look at Florida in 2000. Gore could have challenged Bush. This election is John McCain’s, if he brings conservatives, crossover voters and Independents. He’s been making good strides in courting Latinos.

Comment by Lou | 2008-07-06 13:57:08

They have done a voter registration drive AFTER the primary..this voter drive is to register more voters..where will they come from? Made up people who really don’t exist. Ghosts and invisible people are now newly registered to the tune of 35,000 to 100,000 in each state. Call them the ‘creative voters’. Obama doesn’t ‘need the real people. He only needs the checks” Remember?

Comment by s. hall | 2008-07-06 13:10:36

alice paul — on the other hand we hear that Obama only receives 54% of Democrats in the GE. Those are horrendous numbers because you would need 85 to 90% of your own party to win. You could pick up the rest with Indies, Republicans and Swing Voters. Obama is taking a nose dive and he is doing this on his own. Republicans will unleash a horde of scandals on Obama but it will be done when everyone is tuned in after the Summer.

A great documentary and a great service to fellow citizens…but where was John Ennis and Video the Vote during this dirty Democratic primary? He needs to investigate it…especially in the caucus states like mine. It’s the most undemocratic system ever devised, and intimidation by the Ovomit bots was rampant.

C’mon John! Investigate the primary!!

cheers, but some boos too, when Obama addresses teachers The crowd was mostly supportive and at times very enthusiastic today when Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama addressed the National Education Association. But USA TODAY’s Greg Toppo reports that Obama also got some boos, as he did when he spoke to NEA last year, by calling again for teachers’ pay to rise if their students do well on tests or if they take on added responsibilities.

Yes, I felt like this entire democratic primary season was fixed, which is why I always thought it was so amazing how well Hillary did–I think she was up against bigger odds than we might not even know.

You know, frankly, it would not surprise me if Obama won the general by cheating. (Doomsday talk.)

The very sad (and scary) thing is, that it is possible that American citizens may not even have power over who becomes the president…

One thing to think about would be…who buys the presidency? Basically, how much does it cost to rent the USA for 4 years?

That’s too much of a mind-f**k to even consider though.

Off topic, but has anyone heard of newly registered democrats who had trouble with their registration? My younger cousin and her friend registered to vote for the first time (separately) and they each had their registration dates filed wrong–by one year. So, they couldn’t vote in the dem primary, but they can supposedly vote in the general election.

It might just be a good idea for people to double-check their registration status. Who the hell knows.

Comment by Hope Floats | 2008-07-06 01:55:13

That was a testament to her own smarts and the Clinton machine’s efficiency. I think she knew the fix was on as early as NH; that may have been why she cried for this country, not just for herself. It’s stupid to think the IA caucus would have brought her to tears.

Comment by Miss H | 2008-07-06 01:54:56

Election fraud in the past consisted of caging lists, rigged electronic voting machines, and suppression of voter turn-out. It is ironic how Mr. John Wellington Ennis in his film “Free For All” reported on the fraud in Ohio by Mr. Kenneth Blackwell, a black man, who as a Republican, denied the access to vote to black people. Mr. Ennis even mentions Obama in his film.
Again it is ironic, in the 2008 Democratic Presidential Primaries, that it is the Obama supporters who enacted fraud, with their corrupt practices in the caucuses, to win in states where the people voted in favor of Senator Hillary Clinton. Statistically the rigged caucuses show a disparity in how one-person one-vote results differed significantly from caucus results. There was video footage on YouTube showing caucus fraud in Texas by Obama supporters, as well as over 2000 challenges of caucus results filed by Hillary supporters, that were not allowed to be heard until after the Texas state Democratic Convention.
So it looks like a good thing to expose voter fraud by the Republicans in the 2000 and 2004 Presidential elections. But don’t let your guard down, a certain faction of the Democratic party is just as capable of fraud as demonstrated by the caucus vote and the hostile take over of the Democratic National Committee. And don’t forget the pay off to the media, CNN and MSNBC. Remember how the media and Obama riggers refused to call Indiana for Hillary until the wee small hours of the morning, denying her air time until a late night victory was announced. Meanwhile all you saw on CNN was how they were waiting for more votes to come in from Indiana areas bordering Chicago. I heard that Hillary advisors told her to hurry up and declare victory or the late reporting cities near Chicago would probably be altered to adjust the vote to go to Obama. Don’t let Obama and his minnions get away with it. They are no better than Karl Rove and the Republicans.

Comment by snackpack | 2008-07-06 04:48:37

What if the vote is stolen and Obama will win….it would make sense to put McCain up against him, to further the expanding list of those whom can legally run for president….And then you have the issue with Obama’s birth certificate….could this all be a setup for the future?

Comment by s. hall | 2008-07-06 13:16:04

A Citizen Call for Candidates to Respect the Vote Counting Process
Premature Concessions or Claims of Victory are an Insult to Democracy
ALL BALLOTS MUST BE COUNTED BEFORE A VICTOR IS DECLARED

Candidates have no right to concede a race or claim victory if votes remain uncounted, if recounts are being called for, if allegations of election misconduct exist. Elections are not personal contests between the individual candidates. They are the only basis for legitimate transfer of power in our government, based upon the Will of the People. It is the votes that determine the winner, not the candidates. Therefore candidates have no right to short-circuit the process, but have a duty to the voters to respect it.

Shaken Confidence & Illegitimate Results
Since 2000, the American public has become painfully aware of the damaged and shaky condition of our election process. Over the past eight years, elections across the nation have produced outcomes that many Americans suspect are illegitimate. From Presidential elections to local elections, American voters have lost faith that their precious votes will be counted as cast. They question whether the election outcomes are truly reflecting the Will of the People.
History of Devastating Concessions: Will of the People Ignored
In 2000, many Americans watched in dismay as no U.S. Senator would join with the Congressional Black Caucus to challenge the electors in Florida that emerged from a chaotic and aborted election. Apparently some Senators who might have stood with them were persuaded by Senator and Presidential candidate Al Gore not to do so. In 2004, Senator and Presidential candidate John Kerry conceded the race in the deciding state of Ohio before the vote count was complete and long before recounts and challenges would be decided. His concession came despite his later statement that “There are very troubling questions that have not yet been answered by Ohio election officials.” Despite Kerry’s available funds and lawyers, it took concerned citizens and third party candidates to mount a campaign for a recount in Ohio. More recently we had the 2006 election in California’s CD 50, where election integrity was compromised when election workers took voting machines home for “sleepovers” in the weeks before the election. This flawed election went unchallenged by the “losing” candidate and by her political party. Once again, citizen activists mounted the challenge to the election’s integrity and outcome.
Demoralizing Effect of Candidate Concessions
Concerned citizens who challenge suspect election outcomes have too often found themselves brushed aside with the statement that “The candidate already conceded. Why are you upset?” While Al Gore and John Kerry are the two most high profile candidates to break trust with the voters, candidates at all levels of government need to understand that they are expected to commit themselves to ensuring that elections reflect the Will of the People.
Take Action
Candidates must stand up to the political “schoolyard bullies” who will taunt them with cries of “Sore Loser.” They must put aside their concerns about possible future political comebacks. They must put the voters, the country, and the integrity of our elections first! As a candidate, please commit to respect the integrity of the election process and wait to claim victory or concede defeat until ALL the votes are counted.

Comment by elise | 2008-07-07 00:57:02

The politicians and political cantidates have no motivation to change the system because, in the end, they benefit. The delegates to the convention need to stand up to the party. Their own rules can be used against them if the delegates have the guts to do something. If not, we all need to work as hard as we can to elect McCain. I don’t see any other way.
