Obama Fails to Attract Hillary’s Supporters

Not only is Obama failing to gain Hillary’s supporters, his support from registered Democrats has dropped from 59% to 54%, according to CNN (thanks PPM):

A growing number of Clinton supporters polled say they may stay home in November instead of casting their ballot for Obama, an indication the party has yet to coalesce around the Illinois senator four weeks after the most prolonged and at times divisive primary race in modern American history came to a close.

According to a CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll released Friday, the number of Clinton supporters who plan to defect to Republican Sen. John McCain’s camp is down from one month ago, but — in what could be an ominous sign for Obama as he seeks to unify the party — the number of them who say they plan to vote for Obama is also down, and a growing number say they may not vote at all.

In a CNN/Opinion Research Corp. survey completed in early June before the New York senator ended her White House bid, 60 percent of Clinton backers polled said they planned on voting for Obama. In the latest poll, that number has dropped to 54 percent.

Now why could that be? The new gets worse, according to CNN:

In another sign the wounds of the heated primary race have yet to heal, 43 percent of registered Democrats polled still say they would prefer Clinton to be the party’s presidential nominee. Watch why Clinton supporters are struggling with supporting Obama »

That number is significantly higher than it was in early June, when 35 percent of Democrats polled said they preferred Clinton to lead the party’s presidential ticket. …

The rest of the article is devoted to a silly poll about attitudes towards Bill Clinton, hardly the Democratic party’s current — and immediate — worry.

The immediate problem for the Democratic party is its FIXED nomination of Barack Obama that disenfranchised millions of Democratic party loyalists across the nation — starting with Florida and Michigan.

Then there were the caucuses, mobbed by young, affluent Obama supporters who were not properly checked to determine if they are registered to vote. And the millions of people who couldn’t attend a caucus that runs several hours because they are working, have small children, are ill, are in hospitals or nursing homes, or disabled. Don’t miss our radio show that describes the “Texas two-step” and more, when Bud White interviewed The Denver Group.

The article assumes that Hillary’s supporters will come around. Wrong.

We know who won the popular vote. We know who the people of the KEY SWING STATES voted for — those states essential for a presidential victory. We witnessed the thievery of the RBC committee.

Nobody “gets over” that kind of crooked, unDemocratic treatment.

MUST READ MUST PASS ALONG ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TEXAS CAUCUS FRAUD HEARINGS - JULY 7
It is very important that everyone in Texas knows about this meeting and people show up, testify and protest. Also anyone with press contacts needs to contact them and get them there. Please forward this to everyone. I know this is a sham by the DNC but we have to make alot of noise. If you witnessed caucus fraud, voter intimidation, or supression, please contact me at drlynettelong@aol.com. Thanks, Lynette

I am pleased to inform you the first meeting of the Advisory Committee on the Texas Democratic Party Convention/Caucus System has been scheduled. Headed by Senator Royce West, this first of several meetings will convene at the Austin Community College Health Science Building, Building 9000 in the Multi Purpose Hall room 8500 in Austin, Texas on July 7, 2008 at 10:00am. The campus is located at 3401 Webberville Rd, Austin, Texas 78702.
This Committee which Senator West and I have appointed has been charged with studying the current convention/caucus system. Furthermore, based on the testimony taken at these meetings, the committee will then consider this feedback and possibly make recommendations for changes.
While all meetings will be open to the public, the first committee meeting will be limited to invited testimony only. Senator West and the Committee members wish to use this initial meeting as an informational session. They will discuss with current and former Party leaders the history and development of the current convention/caucus system.
Those wishing to participate at this meeting are encouraged to submit written testimony to the Committee, or complete an online survey, available on the Texas Democratic Party website. Additionally, there will be other hearings held in Austin and throughout the state where public testimony will be taken in order to learn about your personal experience with the convention/caucus system. Those hearings will be scheduled at a later date.
So whether it is by completing the online survey or by attending the upcoming Committee meetings, I hope you will take a moment to share your thoughts. Your feedback will play an important role as we continue to explore our current Democratic Primary process. Only by working together will we be able to grow and strengthen as a Party.
Thank you again for helping us make your Party stronger and more unified than ever before.
Your friend and fellow Democrat,
Boyd L. Richie
Chairman

Dear fellow Democrats
THANKS!!!

I fail to see how this will correct the 2008 primary/caucus debacle. It appears to be a hearing on how to fix the system for the ‘next time’.
Is there no redress for the fraud and abuse of the 2008 cycle?

Comment by Lou | 2008-07-05 12:34:18

Hillary would get delegates from the hearing..it makes a statement for the convention.

We are talking about 16 years from now for Chelsea. You Obamaites would grab onto anything, however thin it is. A lot can happen in 16 years.

On the other hand Obama was elected to the Illinois House Senate 11 years ago. And before that he held a number of part time jobs.

So please don’t insult our intelligence with inane and inappropriate comparisons.

Make Dr. King Proud on the Anniversary of his “I Have A Dream” Speech.

Make his Words Ring Loud and Clear! Let’s prove him right!

Let “HIS” words come to Life in the 21st Century!

Mark your Calendars for the summer evening when Hillary comes to the podium in Denver to speak and to say: I accept the nomination of my Party and will be honored to lead you back to a path of peace and prosperity.

Right On! Hillary 2008!

Thank you Dr. King! We hear you still. Loud and Clear, Sir!

Comment by wodiej | 2008-07-05 10:59:49

Martin Luther King would be appalled at Obama and his actions-APPALLED. This is in direct contrast to the speech he gave. Instead of trying to embrace equality it has turned into resentment and vengenance for past wrongs that cannot be taken back. We can only move forward.

Many people through history have endured injustice-look at women. But you work and fight to change it. Preaching sermons that full of hate will not change things. It only riles people up, makes them angrier and solves nothing.

Obama’s problems are just beginning and this poll is one of the first indications of that.

Hmm…in Jan. 2007 the DNC announced the dates for the Denver Convention - with the Dem presumptive nominee accepting the nomination on the anniversary of Dr. King’s “I have a dream” speech.

Yes - it was a FIXED primary from the gitgo!

Obama’s race-baiting and false accusations of racism DO NOT reflect the actions and teachings of Dr. King.

And a thousand Camelot references can’t make Michelle into Jackie.

Comment by Mr. X | 2008-07-05 11:03:09

The reason the number of registered Dem Hillary supporters who will vote for McCain is down is because many of them are no longer registered Dems. Even so, Obama’s support in his own party is STILL dwindling.

Amazing! Amazing!

I’d like to see a poll based on people who were registered Dems in Nov 2007 regardless of their current status.

Comment by Clara Barton | 2008-07-05 11:05:23

You made a very good point. I’m willing to bet the number of Dems overall is down

Comment by Kevin | 2008-07-05 11:13:29

True
I’m sure the DNC isn’t too interested in revealing those numbers. And McCain still leads among independants.

Comment by Thomas | 2008-07-05 11:21:32

Not so fast. Hillary supporters this past week are beginning to think maybe she will get another chance to win the nomination at the convention.

Obama’s dash to the right is pissing off even his true believers. With 80% of the country stating that we are heading in the wrong direction, he thinks staying left of center is risky.

Unbelievable.

Comment by Annie Oakley | 2008-07-05 14:31:09

Exactly. This poll doesn’t account for the lifelong Dems who have re-registered. I know I have, so I’m left out of their accounting.

Comment by Clinton Fan | 2008-07-05 11:09:28

Susan,

I have to agree with your rather cogent point–it’s not JUST that Obama is the less qualified Democrat to be the standard-bearer, it’s that the Democratic Party FIXED the results.

Really. If we’d wanted to be Republicans, we would have joined that bunch…they’re the ones who “fix” elections….or so we thought.

I guess they’re all bastards.

In any event, I’m going to try not to gag and vote for the Sailor if Clinton isn’t the nominee. I’ll count on Congress to keep the guy in line.

While Obama crashing/burning is unlikely, it COULD happen–who ever thought Eagleton would be bounced off the ticket lo, those many years ago?

Every time Obama turns up on TV, he’s either sticking his foot in his mouth, or pulling hard with both hands, trying to get it out.

Not confidence-inspiring.

After over thirty years as a registered Democrat, I have to say, I feel no affiliation with or for them anymore.

The liberating thing about all that is when they call me to participate in party “grunt work” volunteer activities, I tell them NO…and I tell them WHY. When they tell me that I “don’t MEAN that” I tell them that I DO, and please don’t fucking call me anymore–find one of those glassy-eyed stoned “Yes We Can” punks to sell Obama’s muddied Iraq Exit Strategy and his “Keep Shoveling The Cash” Faith Based plan across the land!

I have been using the free time to VERY good effect, too. I’ve decided to put MYSELF first for a change. It’s beneficial….!

Comment by standard | 2008-07-05 11:31:10

Thanks for the reminder about Eagleton.
It gives such Hope that Change is not too late.

Comment by Zee | 2008-07-05 12:59:31

Amen, Clinton Fan!

One of those “Yes we con!” bratz came to the door and I told him “I’m voting for McCain!” and as he scurried away I said, “go steal someone else’s vote!”

I still think we need to work for Hillary, but it’s going to take a MEDIA backlash as well as a VOTER backlash to work.

The DNC, like all social organizations, only really care about two things: new members and more money.

We need to amplify the media spotlight on Obama’s flipflopping and alienating his core base (I believe Alterman articulated the meme: Is Obama a SELLOUT?”)
as well as promote the growth and determination of PUMA.

This is shaping up as the best opportunity ever for the creation of a third party. The bipartisan military keynesianism of the Dems and Reps have sent this country into the tank. We’re always promised change we can believe in, but we always get the same old thing. Even Democratic politicians who genuinely want change are stymied by their own party. We don’t need to stay at home and we don’t need to vote for McCain. What we need is a party this is dedicated to representing the interests of the American people, not the interests of the multinational corporations.

Comment by Thomas | 2008-07-05 11:31:48

I agree. But first, I’m willing to correct the injustice in the Democratic Party.

If Hillary wins the nomination in Denver then fine. But if she doesn’t then I would suggest a mass movement over to whatever party with the most developed national infrastructure. That’s probably the green Party.

Even if we only use their party this election, we will will put all of D.C. on notice that 2010 will be a year of real change.

Comment by DAB | 2008-07-05 12:24:39

No time for that right now! If Obama wins, there will be no impetus for a new party. We can do that later. Respected pollster Charlie Cook said that despite the polls, most believe that it will be a close election. Every vote will count. Don’t waste it by staying home. We have to vote McCain — after all, he once considered defecting to the Dems and John Kerry tried to get him to join his ticket.

It may not be a perfect option but its the best one available to us right now. We must stop the maniacal, manipulative, unprincipled one from taking the reigns of power!!!!

Comment by Zee | 2008-07-05 13:25:10

Comment by June | 2008-07-05 11:18:45

Be careful about writing in Senator Clinton’s name on the ballot. In some jurisdictions, a write-in candidate may simply go to ther person from the same party whose name is on the ballot. So you may end up voting for Obama unwittingly. Check your local voting rules regarding how write-in votes are handled.

Comment by Kathleen | 2008-07-05 11:31:37

Absolutely. People, a write-in in most states won’t help Hillary or stop Obama and in most cases, can be either not counted or “lost”.

The simples and most direct way to stop obama and make our voices heard that “NO WE WON’T” return to the fold, is a vote for McCain.

Comment by sjc-tx | 2008-07-05 11:35:59

Some states don;t allow a write in vote. Some do and others just count it as a “dem” vote. So Yes BE CAREFUL and BE SURE. But the best way to ensure the votes GO AGAINST obassole is to vote FOR MCCAIN.

Comment by wodiej | 2008-07-05 15:31:53

Comment by yttik | 2008-07-05 11:19:15

I really believe it’s not the Hillary suppporters who will cause Obama to loose if the DNC is stupid enough to give him the nomination. It’s not the people who are currently unhappy with Obama who will refuse to vote for him come November. It’s his base, his own supporters who have all these unrealistic expectations, who will become disillusioned with him. So many of these people are new to politics, they’re filled with idealism, and their bubble is going to burst. We’re already seeing grumbles as they get to know Obama. He’s not going to lower sea levels and end the war. He’s not going to change DC politics. He’s not The One they think he is.

Many of us will not be voting for Obama no matter what. But I think the real problem for him is going to be his own people who have elevated him to a status he cannot live up to. They’re going to be furious as they watch him disapoint over and over again.

Comment by DAB | 2008-07-05 12:34:21

I don’t think that he’ll lose a significant amount of the left although a few might protest with Nader votes and some younger voter enthusiasm may be dampened. Also some small donations may be less than anticipated. But they are likely to flock back because of their hatred of the Republicans and who can blame them. BO played them for suckers, and in their heart of hearts they know it, but they, unlike more moderate Hillary supporters, have nowhere to go. Many are currently flailing about with excuses of “at least he’s not McCain” and “he has to pander in order to get elected”.

Vote McCain - he’s our only choice.

Comment by Zee | 2008-07-05 13:28:32

As if they were actually gonna show up to vote anyway.

Comment by JoseyJ | 2008-07-05 13:31:45

She had such a love for life. I don’t forget people who wrong me. Comment by Indyvoter | 2008-07-05 14:03:00

That grief business may have originated from Howard Dean. He was saying the losing side of the primary would need a month of grief time.

For me, I won’t get over it until BO and his enablers are defeated, either in August or in November.

Comment by Newly Independent | 2008-07-07 02:38:53

Seems to me that Obama’s supporters are the ones in the first and second stages of grief - denial and anger.

Some - like the idiot in that CNN article - are clearly still in the first stage. They deny that most Hillary supporters have come to grips with Obama being the SELECTED nominee and have moved on to John McCain.

Some of Obama’s supporters have graduated to the “anger” stage. That’s why we’ve seen the hatred hurled at us here and in other blogs and forums in cyberspace since late May. Don’t feel like rehashing the crap they’ve been saying, but it’s evident that they’re extremely angry about us choosing to vote for McCain in November.

Seems like virtually none of them have made it to the “bargaining” stage yet.

It’s become fun to see this Obama mess unfold.

Hillary has been usurped! Obama has launched all his communist and socialist and hard left supporters. I thought they are just anti-war. They are actually Anti-American.

Common! Hillary is now a prisoner of Obama. Obama is taking advantage of the financial problems of Hillary. If Obama wholeheartedly supports Hillary’s financial woes, he would do the same without having annoucing every cent in the public.

The whole unity ticket is a farce!

We need to convince Bill Clinton to provide “air” on the so-called “Far Left”. We are democrats and we want to correct market failure, but we don’t want communism. Our great JFK fought against communists.

We fight the communists within our party including Kucinich and Sanders!

I pray the Clintons to withdraw their support of Obama. Obama is making fun of them.

“According to a CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll released Friday, the number of Clinton supporters who plan to defect to Republican Sen. John McCain’s camp is down from one month ago, but — in what could be an ominous sign for Obama as he seeks to unify the party — the number of them who say they plan to vote for Obama is also down, and a growing number say they may not vote at all.”

That is like total scary Larry!!
You are really saying “disenfranchised millions of Democratic party loyalists”
Really?
Shouldn’t that be more along the lines of “disenfranchised a hand full maybe 11 total of Democratic party loyalists?

If my experience is of any value, I think the Obama kool-aid might be wearing off. In May I visited my Obamaton daughter at the hair salon where she works. She picked an argument with me about hope and change etc. My daughter and I and her co-worker had quite a heated discussion about Obama.

When I saw my daughter at work this week I planned to tell her I am voting for McCain, if the subject came up. However, there was no mention of politics at all by anyone.

This week I informed my Obamaton son I am voting for McCain. There was a stunned silence and no attempt to argue with me. Everyone in my family knows I am a life-long Dem.

All of this while he was attending a race-baiting hatemongering church!

The following warning is showing up on some blogsites. It’s that Pelosi was worried at first that Clinton supporters would vote McCain. Now she’s no longer worried because she thinks we’ll stay at home. PUMA has to recouch things to let it be known a vote for McCain will be done, an anti-Obama vote. No one is going to stay home.

This is the posting:

“Here is the lastest buzz. It seems as Hillary supporters are moving toward ‘not voting this election’, Nancy Pelosi and friends are not so worried about losing us or losing the election. Apparently there was some worry until just recently. It seems unless we put our support behind McCain, they are not so concerned. To me, this makes sense which is why I am voting McCain IF Hillary is not on the ticket. I am just sharing, I dont want to tell people how to vote. But again this does make sense to me. Voting is power we have and diluting the votes dilutes our power. Just passing this on.”

Comment by Kevin | 2008-07-05 11:33:32

the message to the DNC needs to include, and I cannot stress this strongly enough, not just a vote against obama, but a vote against his supporters as well(congressmen and women as well as US Senators who are running for re-election). Kerry has the first primary challenge of his Senate career, and I will vote for his challenger.

Comment by NoBamaNoWay | 2008-07-06 04:50:13

It seems as Hillary supporters are moving toward ‘not voting this election’, Nancy Pelosi and friends are not so worried about losing us or losing the election. Apparently there was some worry until just recently

Every time they act like this they have something up their sleeve. Usually it’s to justify stealing the votes. They are registering fake names to the election. That’s why they are not worried. Breaking story yesterday was they are registering 35k to 100k new voters per state but the voters don’t exist..they are phony names. Really! Remember June 3 when they said they were doing a massive get out the vote? Well there you have it. I guess they call these fake voters the ‘creative voters” because it takes a team of creative people to come up with all the phony names and addresses.

Longtime Dem switches to McCain!

Fogg, an award winning international film producer and writer, spoke to Boca Raton Republican Club members recently, advising that after many years as “a registered Democrat, I started to listen to what John McCain was actually saying, instead of the way Obama is saying it.”

She claimed that Obama was “mesmeric – can sway the masses.”

Comment by Mr. X | 2008-07-05 13:32:05

Yeah, but you’re assumption is based on rational thought on the part of Pelosi. They live in a dreamworld. Even if everyone declared that they’d vote for McCain, they’d just say that the numbers are lower than they thought. They keep switching their stories and they MUST make as if the situation is under control. All other scenarios are unacceptable to them. Anything else and you’d get widespread panic in the Dem elite circles.

Strange that they’re the ones still stuck on DENIAL, not Hillary supporters.

Comment by Zee | 2008-07-05 13:35:30

They’re not in denial…they don’t care. They’ll have the house and senate, they almost NEED for the presidency to remain rethuglican.

Two very interesting comments from that article I wish to post here! They are things to ponder for sure about BHO’s birth, etc.

Here’s comment #1

Contrary to what the BO campaign has stated, his mother was raised from age twelve in Seattle WA and its suburbs until she left for Hawaii to attend college.
In addition, no record of her marriage or divorce has been made public.

So, conspiracy fans, what if the HI birth certificate shows not only Muslim, but an unwed mother?

BO’s claim to his very name becomes suspect. It may be he’s really Barrak Hussein Dunham.

That would make things a bit interesting wouldn’t it.

Posted by: CSM | July 4, 2008 12:51 PM

—————–

Here’s #2

His full name is Barak Hussein Muhammed Obama. And his birth certificate will list his religion as Muslim. This is why the forged birth certificate is out there.

Hillary or McCain/Abstain.

And putting Hillary on the ticket as VP does NOTHING to make BO qualified to hold the office of POTUS.

I haven’t detested a politician this much since George W. Bush and there are no circumstances where he is acceptable to me. His positions on FISA, the death penalty, abortion and “mental distress” and faith-based charities are completely unacceptable and Obama trolls should finally admit that we were right all along and they were bamboozled. He is no Democrat. He is all for himself and nothing else.

More than ever, I want to see Hillary on that ballot in Denver.

Comment by tj coleman | 2008-07-05 11:45:27

Good morning everyone!
I think the proof of this was in the parade here in Butte Montana yesterday. BO attended but only watched it from a set of bleachers. We were excited to see our Governor and a local Senator in the parade and a young girl next to me had her book signed by the Governor while his attendants handed out stickers to mine. The crowd clapped and cheered as they walked by.
On the other hand when the Obama support marched by the crowd remained quiet and only politely stared at them. We know many of the individuals carrying signs as friends and in such a small town it would be rude to jeer them for their belief in this man. The crowd was also quiet for the McCain supporters and barley gave any notice to them.
Butte is a mining town that voted for Hillary in the primary election. You might remember us as the site of the DNC back in February. Both candidates visited our city bringing people in from all over the state as did the parade on Friday.

It seems that BOs refusal to participate in the parade has made many of us even bitterer. The start of the parade was an hour late due to the nature of BOs visit and only a handful of individuals were even able to get near him.
There was also a picnic to be held AFTER the parade. My family had our golden ticket for the event, but upon entering the Montana Tech campus we were told they were not allowing any one else in. We were there 30 minutes after the parade ended. Normally a five minute drive, we were delayed due to the security still around the Civic Center where BO had been for the parade. There was no answer as to why they were closing the picnic. I am still researching this and have spoken to a reporter who will try and look into the story. I tore up my ticket in front of the guard and yelled VOTE FOR McCain/ PUMA power. The guard thought it was hilarious and was obviously not offended.

This is the way BO treats Hillary supporters. He locks them out of his picnic and is too scared to greet them in a parade. He claims his SS said it would be a security nightmare. This is hard to believe since we are only 25000 strong here and have absolutely no tall buildings, only the MT ranges to contend with. Did BO feel threatened? He also stated we would have to show our hands to the SS as he came by. The Governor did not expect this and was walking into the crowd, so why would it be a problem for BO?
I firmly believe that BO did nothing to unite the Hillary supporters to his cause here in Butte Montana. Some will stay home, some will vote for McCain, but Bo will not win this small, tough mining town.
The poll is correct in its prediction. We will not choose this unqualified man to be our president. We will not unify to support the DNC. We are still mad and not going to make nice anytime soon. Maybe they will see the light in Denver and elect Hillary as our Nominee. It’s the right thing to do!

HILLARY/MCCAIN 08

Not a surprise at all.
Remember the Muslim ladies who were ‘removed’?
Or the “we need more white people here” episode?
As for the picnic,
what they said
“Caleb Weaver, a spokesman for the Obama campaign
said at one point there was a problem with the metal detectors and people were stopped for entering temporarily until the machines were working again. After about 10 to 15 minutes, people were allowed to enter the picnic site at the practice field on the campus.”
what they meant
“Damn, too many white people. Hold up
the line while we shuffle people around
and ‘diversify’ the crowd in camera range”

We will not be ordered to vote for BO. It is still a free country and we can vote, or not vote for whomever we like. I also do not think that Hillary would ever ORDER us to do something like that.

Have you ever thought that she is not making a scene and playing nice so that she looks as if she is supporting him. This way when he looses at the convention she can say she did what she was told. The voters have spoken and taken up her cause.

Hillary “will order her supporters to support Obama”? Look, I admire Hillary (and Gore, and Feingold), but no one and no party owns my vote. Where do you think we are Nazi Germany? What an outrageous comment. Hilary would never presume that she has the right to “order” a supporter to endorse BO. While on the other hand, I would expect nothing less from BO and the DNC. Their arrogance allows them to think that they can berate, belittle, and bamboozle Hilary and her supporters and then expect obedience and humility under the pretext of bringing the democratic party together. Well “Party Unity My Ass, they are going to be in for a rude awakening in November, when Hilary supporters stay a home or better yet, vote for John McCain.

Bob Sheiffer is so wrong when he says HRC suppporters will in time come around or get over it. The patronizing by the triumvirate: (1) O campaign, (2) MSM, and (3) Democratic Party “leaders” is what they need to get over. They need to come to “acceptance” that we are citizens, are intelligent, have very serious and valid reasons for not supporting Obama and for leaving the Democratic Party. Their attitude is like the batterer who promises to stop and then taunts his spouse to get over it when he doesn’t. It’s over folks. We are gone. We will not stay home and we will not vote for Obama or any superdelegate who votes for him. They really don’t want to know why so it is pointless to explain. They will patronize us no matter what we say. We don’t feel he is qualified. We don’t feel he is honest. We don’t feel he is intelligent. We think that he is everything he projects upon his opponents: old time politician, seeking a third Bush/Clinton combo term, calculating, will say or do anything, beholden to corporate moneyed interests, and polarizing. In short, we think, and always have from day one, that he is a fraud. So go ahead triumvirate and kid yourselves that we are having a hard time getting over it. I hope you continue to dismiss us that way. You will be in for a big surprise.

There will be no Hillary on the ballot in Denver, so get over it! No one is going to change their minds BO will be the nominee, so stop writing SDs. They never bothered to respond to me when I wrote the ones from KS. They are all doing the march in formation behind our inane governor in Kansas. As far as I am concerned no one is doing anything to earn my vote. McCain can’t even bother to come to Kansas. I am unable to blog as his site. This whole election season has been a waste of my time, energy and money. I living on veterans compensation and SSDI went to four states at my own cost for the most part and it seems both politicians are leaving me out in the cold. So frankly I don’t care about any of it. And I am tired of hearing everything rehashed here too. Nothing new…I got this all in my e-mail already! Some of us on participated in the Saturday for a Citizens for McCain Tele-Town Hall June 14, and McCain was very gracious and appreciative of our interest in his candidacy.

Don’t give up on him. He’s our best option after Hillary.

“There will be no Hillary on the ballot in Denver, so get over it! No one is going to change their minds BO will be the nominee, so stop writing SDs. They never bothered to respond to me when I wrote the ones from KS. They are all doing the march in formation behind our inane governor in Kansas.”

This is exactly why I’m going to vote for McCain in November.

One of them - McCain or Obama - will be President in 2009. Whether we want either one of them to be or not. So it makes no sense to me to stay home in November and risk Obama (and the lowlife DNC) winning so that he can finish tearing up this country. I still hold on to hope for Hillary in Denver. But chances are, the SDs and the DNC will finish stabbing her in the back in August. So I’m mentally and emotionally prepared now to support John McCain.

Please hang in there!

From every appearance, as far as I can tell, Hillary was coerced into suspending her campaign. The only explanation I have heard was that some of her major supporters started withdrawing their support after she won the Puerto Rico primary.

I believe, like many people including her opponents apparently, that she could have won the nomination if the race had remained opened until the convention.

Something just stinks to high heaven. How can these stupid, idiotic, moronic, bird-brain, Democratic “leaders” expect people to fall into line like a herd of cattle on the way to slaughter.

All of this, of course, is obvious to people who frequent this website, but I’ll say it one more time just in case some person with his finger in the pie is checking out No Quarter today.

Comment by MrMike | 2008-07-05 12:58:19

No offence to you, Faustina, but this is how the bamboozling works.

The only explanation I have heard was that some of her major supporters started withdrawing their support after she won the Puerto Rico primary.

Who are those major supporters? Why don’t they name names?
How about this scenario? The primaries and caucuses were over and there was no point in staying on the stump. Note that Hillary only suspended her campaign she did not concede to Obama. Nor did she ask her delegates (she can’t order them, against the rules) to vote for Obama at the convention.

Comment by cleffnote | 2008-07-05 14:40:38

Watched Hillary answer questions in NY two days ago is on youtube. You need to listen to the whole thing and you will hear her say that she has many delegates who will want to cast their vote for her at the convention. Sounds to me like she and Obama have not come to terms with the first vote after all. Poor Obama.

Here’s the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KMxIffpbzh4

Comment by Faustina | 2008-07-05 16:28:39

The names I heard reported were Fritz Mondale and Rangel of NY. I also heard a report that a group of NY special delegates were switching to Obama. The news reports said that Hillary sounded defiant on the eve of her Puerto Rico victory, but 2 days later after the above reports came out, she had scheduled her speech to endorse Obama.

I didn’t watch her speech, but the news reports were that her mother and husband shed tears during the speech. I don’t know who would be doing any bamboozling here. I think whatever was going on was more in the line of arm-twisting and ultimatums from the Democratic money bags to the Clinton camp. Those people give every indication of being moronic thugs.

See I told you Obamaites:

PUMA in effect.

Hillary or Die b/c McCain is about to whoop dat ass of Obama with his flip-flop, unpatriotic, stubborn attitude.

At least he should have stayed true to his view on the Iraq War and pull our troops out in 16 months, but know, this nut has no clue. Like Rev. Wright says, he is a politician, he changes with the times. No one in their right mind wants a leader made of quick stand. That is one reason why Bush still is in office. He is a cowboy and is tough and does not give a rat’s ass of what you think.

Republicans and McCain know that the weakest candidate is Obama and are just laying low letting him loose.

Obama would just be the third term of Bush repackaged.
Obama flip-flopped on campaign finance; Obama has backtracked on FISA; Obama is gong to expand faith-based social services. Obama would be the third term of Bush. I contributed a lot of $$ to Hillary. May 31 the RBC left DEMOCRATS like me under the bus.
Nader/Gonzales are my current choice. Not Obama because Obama=Bush.

Unless justice is served and Hillary is the rightful democratic nominee I hope that supporters will do more than “not vote.” This will not ensure an Obama loss, which is paramount for our country, and enable Hillary or Strickland to secure the nomination in 2012.

McCain will not destroy the country in 4 years…at worst things will remain unchanged or gridlocked. 4 years of Obama and who knows what may happen…I literally have trouble sleeping at the thought of it.

His arrogance knows no bounds…

http://weblogs.chicagotribune.com/news/politics/blog/2008/07/obama_acceptance_speech_in_foo.html

Key quote from above article:

Gridiron fans, move over. The Obama campaign hopes to turn the last evening of the Democratic National Convention in Denver on Aug. 28 into a giant rally of voters in a football stadium.

The unusual move, confirmed by two sources, would be an echo of John F. Kennedy’s acceptance speech in 1960. Kennedy delivered his address before thousands of supporters at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Obama’s big moment also would fall on the 45th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech, delivered at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C.

Comment by believe | 2008-07-05 12:45:51

Why is it arrogant to have a lot of people come to a speech? JFK held his acceptance speech in a stadium. Was that arrogant?

Comment by Teakwood | 2008-07-05 13:49:07

Because it creates a very dangerous security issue for the people of Denver, never mind the cost involved. BO is more concerned with his ego than the saftey and well being of the citizens of Denver.

The Post Turtle

While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75-year old Texas rancher, whose hand was caught in a gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man. Eventually the topic got around to Obama and his bid to be our President. The old rancher said,

“Well, ya know, Obama is a ‘post turtle’.”

Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a post turtle was. The old rancher said,

“When you’re driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that’s a post turtle.”

The old rancher saw a puzzled look on the doctor’s face, so he continued to explain.

“You know he didn’t get up there by himself. he doesn’t belong up there, he doesn’t know what to do while he is up there, and you just wonder what kind of a dumb ass put him up there to begin with.”

McCain verses Obama Notsurewhathisrealnameis

1. I will accept different political ideology made in good conscience and logical, informed reason rather than temporary appeasement based in corrupt, ungrounded, peter-panish poll fashion.

2. McCain is NOT Bush, Obama is more Bush than Bush is on the inexperience and industry buy-out fronts. Obama will be beholden to more corrupt industries than oil — media, lawyers and psudoscience for starters.

3. McCain deserves respect and is generally trustworthy. Obama is like a bipolar, alcoholic who has grandiose delusions and antisocial tendencies towards anyone who gets in his way. The Great Manipulator.

4. McCain is not a Post Turtle (perfect metaphor from poster above), Obama is and some of us WILL REMEMBER who put the turtle on the post. (Kudos to Strickland for taking a stand.)

5. Who would I trust with my checkbook and my personal security? It’s not Obama. Iraq? Healthcare? Environment? Civil Liberties? McCain wins by default as I can’t trust the Obama propaganda du jour.

Homeland Security? No brainer.

Advice on manipulating the system, good real estate deals and how to thug and BS your way into a position of prominence. OBAMA WINS!

How long will it take for Bill Schneider and others in the MSM to figure out the difference between “grief” and “angry civil rebellion?”

The article on CNN quotes Bill Schneifer doing his best Dr. Phil impression:

“These things always take time to heal,” said Bill Schneider, CNN senior political analyst. “I think Clinton’s supporters are waiting to see if Sen. Obama will pick her as vice president. That would certainly be very healing to them.”

The article goes on to say -

“If he doesn’t pick her, a later stage of grief is depression and then acceptance,” Schneider said. “In the end I expect Clinton supporters will accept Obama, because they will listen to Sen. Clinton, who has said the stakes are too high for Democrats to sulk.”

The analysts said maybe more than four weeks is needed for many of Clinton’s most devoted supporters to move past her loss, especially considering the primary campaign stretched more than 17 months.

One more thing…

Does anyone ever contemplate that those who hate America must be elated beyond measure. What joy they must feel that ironic justice would be served (in their mind) for the next POTUS and First Lady to both hold anti-American views –as proven by their deep, meaningful associations and own words?

If Osama has a sense of humor, he’s laughing now.

This is the best case scenario…whether the Obamas are sympathetic to our enemies…I’m unsure and do not want to find out the hard way.

Unlike Obama, I am willing to stay with my committment, no Hillary, so no vote for any Democrat supporting Obama prior to the June Coronation. No write-in here, no green party, no accepting Senator Clinton as VP, I have a spine, and I will point this out Senator McCain has many, many years of experience, and has reached across the aisle. I wouldn’t wish this next presidency on anyone, having to try to mop up the mess, because no matter what they do, there will be some fierce criticism. However, I am no longer part of a party, first and formost an American, it’s going to take more than one term to get our country back on it’s feet, and I am not willing to waste a single second. I will Support Senator McCain, I will not support the Democratic party. Our country isn’t one party only, and isn’t doing well with the parties it does have. I will also work for reform in whatever party has taken a liking to giving U.S. voters less rights than those who have voted in Iraq.

A growing number of Clinton supporters polled say they may stay home in November instead of casting their ballot for Obama

Beware of sneaky MSM propaganda that will subtly, subliminally encourage Hillary voters to stay home, since the corporate-owned media know some Hillary voters are on the fence about voting for McCain. A non-vote isn’t a vote AGAINST Obama. A vote for McCain is. The MSM, who wants McCain to win, would rather have a non-vote than a anti-Obama vote.

I think everyone should write a short note to CNN’s Bill Schneider, and let him know: No Bill, we’re not grieving anymore, yes, we’re still angry, but we’ve taken that anger, and and we’re gathering and harnessing it, that turning it into positive energy and working to correct the wrongs of the DNC. No we will not vote for Obama, even if she is the VP!!
She is wanted by 18 million people to be their President..not our VP.!!

I forgot..I agree with Alex, above me, when he said that a no vote is NOT against BO. Only if we vote for JMc. I heard or read something last night on PUMA, that someones daughter works for N.Pelosi, and the rumor around the party last night was that at first the Dems were worried that if we voted for Mc. than it could really hurt BO…but now they think we’re just not going to vote…and this is what they hope we will do. (No I’m not a Rep. and honestly I don’t know what I’m going to do) So our best bet is to keep sending letters, faxes and spreading the word about changing the minds of the Super Delegates, and calling on the DNC to conduct an Open Convention, and by that, and allow Hillary Clinton’s name to be on the ballot and in the roll call.
This is not over yet!!

Well, I live in Florida. I registered Democrat to vote for Hillary in the Primaries but after what the DNC did by reducing my vote to half a vote, I’ve decided to quit the Democratic Party although I’ve always voted Democrat. This year, I’ll vote for Hillary, I still think she can win the nomination in August or to vote for John Mc.Cain! I’m angry at the DNC, I was involved in Hillary’s campaign here in South Florida and I feel that the votes were stolen from Hillary, especially the Michigan’s. There is one thing I don’t understand and is why Hillary didn’t take her case to Convention? why she didn’t fight until the end knowing that she won the popular vote? why did she accept the rules of the party? the media was so biased and mistreated her. It was really outrageous! I’m still mad and scared that Obama will win the nomination in August and the GE in November….

I think the caucus is bs. Hillary won the primary by 120,000 votes. From what they said, the winner of the primary was supposed to get 2/3 of the delegates, and the winner of the caucus would get 1/3. How did Obama get more delegates than she did? I think that proves that the caucuses have no place in primaries. We don’t have them in the GE. My 94 year old grandma can vote in the primaries, but she can’t go caucus. Why would she have to vote twice?
