“Get FISA Right”: Obama’s Supporters Protest his Vote
By medusa on July 10, 2008 at 10:30 AM in 4th Amendment, Bamboozling, Barack Obama, Democracy, FISA, Hillary Clinton, National Security, WORMs
Barack Obama promised to filibuster the FISA bill, but instead, he voted for it, and many of his supporters are understandably concerned about his willingness to compromise our civil liberties. As Dawn Teo wrote for Huffington Post:
Last week, Obama supporters created a “Get FISA Right” group using the Obama campaign’s web-based social networking application. The group was an unusual addition to the website — formed as it was by Obama supporters for the purpose of protesting Obama’s position on the FISA bill…The group became the largest one on the Obama website within days, growing to more than 21,000 members in less than week.
Obama posted a response to the Get FISA Right group in which he reassures his supporters that:
…once Iām sworn in as President — to have my Attorney General conduct a comprehensive review of all our surveillance programs, and to make further recommendations on any steps needed to preserve civil liberties and to prevent executive branch abuse in the future.
Will Mitchell, an member of the Get FISA Right group on Obama’s website, hand delivered a letter yesterday to Obama’s Chicago campaign office, appealing to Obama both to reconsider his own support of FISA and to speak on the floor of Congress against the bill:
We ask that you back up your words with action by addressing your constituents on the floor of the Senate with the same oratorical power you used in Philadelphia to lay out your vision of a ‘More Perfect Union.’ The American people have just as much right to know of the dangerous precedent this Congress would be setting by granting retroactive immunity to those who “may have violated the law” and allowing spying on law-abiding citizens …. We ask you to reconsider your current position on the bill as a whole and strongly oppose a bill about which you said, “I know that the FISA bill that passed the House is far from perfect. I wouldn’t have drafted the legislation like this, and it does not resolve all of the concerns that we have about President Bush’s abuse of executive power.” In your statement you also wrote, “In a dangerous world, government must have the authority to collect the intelligence we need to protect the American people. But in a free society, that authority cannot be unlimited.” We agree.
That was yesterday, and today we know that Obama voted in favor of FISA. Hillary voted against FISA, just like she said she would. She didn’t do it without consideration; our national security is amongst the New York Senator’s greatest concerns. But as she makes clear in her statement, the FISA bill goes against our constitutional rights:
Congress must vigorously check and balance the president even in the face of dangerous enemies and at a time of war. That is what sets us apart. And that is what is vital to ensuring that any tool designed to protect us is used ā and used within the law ā for that purpose and that purpose alone. I believe my responsibility requires that I vote against this compromise, and I will continue to pursue reforms that will improve our ability to collect intelligence in our efforts to combat terror and to oversee that authority in Congress.
The comments on Obama’s website make clear how disappointed his supporters are. Here’s one example of the many comments left by fellow Democrats, who believed Obama was a man of his word:
When Bush was elected in 2004 I was dejected, disappointed and totally deflated because I felt my country had let me down. We failed to send W back to Texas. How could that many Americans have deliberately voted for him? The effect of Senator Obama voting for the FISA bill today is similar though not as profound. I am dejected, disappointed and partially deflated because I feel that the Senator has let me down. I can not rectify his deliberate turn about and support of this bill. Since he clearly operates by making politically calculated votes, it makes me wonder how he would of voted had he been in the senate when the authorization to use force was passed. I think he may have voted for it. I also suspect that he would have voted for the Patriot Act since Senator Feingold was the only one to oppose it. It seems that Senator Obama is not the champion for my civil rights that I took him to be. I wonder how many of Bush’s executive excesses President Obama will reverse. Maybe very few since presidents seem loathe to relinquish any priviledges.
I am sadder but wiser now. He is no longer a champion for my rights. He is simply a presidential candidate….

Political expediency, calculation, triangulation… who’s that candidate again?
I guess Hope and Change goes only so far.
Yup. Winning the Presidency and ending the semi-dictatorship we’ve had for the past 8 years is more important than hope and change.
Find me a true Democrat who doesn’t believe that.
So,you like an idiot would go from a semi-semi-dictatorship to true dictatorship under Backtrack.
I know right?
Man, that Barack is SUCH a dictator.
Did you hear he wants REGULAR AMERICANS to get together and help put together the party platform?
Did you hear he has more donors and a larger e-mail list than any Presidential candidate ever?
Did you hear he has more volunteers than any Presidential candidate ever?
DICTATOR
Did you hear he voted against the constitution and for reducing our civil liberties?
The victor will never be asked if he told the truth.
Adolf Hitler
Jon, Adolf Hilter, a well known dictator.
Jon you will excuse obama for everything when you know he is a damn fraud, ever hear of cognitive dissonance? Well bub your experiencing it now aren’t you? The fact that obama screwed the people with his vote to protect his contributor’s is nothing new, he did it with the nuclear company Exelon.
Clinton or McCain! I am not voting for a leftwing bush.
Did you hear he has more donors and a larger e-mail list than any Presidential candidate ever?
Isn’t it amazing what money can and can not buy?
Wonder how much Kerry got for his… he was the first to sell out but not the last…
I got an e-mail from the Dem Party to ‘help’ hem out with their platform.
So they don’t have one. Hillary has, McCain has, Obama doesn’t. How telling. His only platform is ‘winning’.
I love to answer their questions. I told them to get free elections, hav a roll call with Hillary on it, publicly apologize for all their insults and fraud, re-establish the old democratic values … and so on.
You still think that Fraudbama is a man of his word? or possess any moral conviction?
or will stand up for any principle?
or will defend the constitution?
or will defend this country?
Primabama has but one allegiance.
He’ll even throw his kids under the bus
when it suits him.
No surprise there.
Scarybama, Frankenbama, effing NObama.
We already had a convention in WA to put together a party platform. I guess BOBO is going to ignore us just like he ignored you and is instead adopting the george bush signature faux listening to all sides before he does what he was going to do anyway.
I received an e-mail from the Dem. Party to ‘help’ them out with their platform.
So Obama doesn’t have one. How telling. Hillary has one, McCain has one, Obama doesn’t. His only platform is ‘winning’.
I love to answer their e-mails. I told them to make the elections free and fair, correct the RBC’s decision, have Hillary on the roll call, publicly apologize for the insults and frauds they committed, return to the values and principles of the Old Democratic Party - than we can talk. If not, we will meet again at the voting booths in November.
Wait..NOW they want to put together a platform? NOW?! Uh…what the hell have they been doing all this time. Dear lord they have no idea what the hell they are doing.
Me too. I don’t know how I got on his spam list but I take every opportunity to lay into Obama directly. As for the DNC, who duplicates Obama’s spam list, they get a healthy dose of venom from me about every other day.
Haha. Oh yeah, it’s going to be a People’s Platform just like North Korea is a People’s Republic.
Barack sure has all the commie propaganda moves down, gotta hand it to him.
Maybe we’ll even have the people’s cars! American Peopleswagen. PWs for short.
I hate to burst your naive bubble, but Hope-y Change-y doesn’t give a flying fuck what regular Americans think. It’s another ploy. With a simple email blast, he tries to gather his koolaid drinkers back to the fold, after he’s gone against their wishes again and again.
He’s using you guys. But hey, I’m of the belief that all Americans have had educational opportunities so if they choose to not take advantage of those opportunities and become puppets for a fast talker, then they’ve made the conscious choice to do so. That’s why I never cut the Bush-bots any slack. And that’s why I never will cut the Obamabots slack either.
And btw, to brag about his email list means nothing. I’m getting emails from that sack of slime and I never have signed up for it - ever. Guess he can spam like any other web spammer.
Did you hear… HIS WORDS ARE JUST WORDS… empty, hollow, they don’t mean a thing!
Did you hear he wants REGULAR AMERICANS to get together and help put together the party platform?
I love how Obama addressed his remarks about the REGULAR AMERICANS to a room full of wealthy fat cat “liberals” at a closed door fundraiser in San Francisco. It sounds like Obama craves input… from “bitter” gun-toting, bible thumping racists.
What was so wrong with the Democratic party’s platform to begin with? It seems Obama would like to ad a dash of neoconservatism. You know, bring all these Republicans (freepers and oil) into the fold. Obama is asking for input, but he is just figuring out what to promise voters next. It is a sign of desperation.
Yep, and you can bet that BHO will be for the ‘party platform’ before he is against it.
Like all sociopaths he has no core values or principles by which he will stand. I’ve had 8 years of a sociopath called GW Bush and I don’t want to trade him in for one call BH Obama.
Email list? Now his email list is VERY valuable…to con-artists everywhere. Step right up, step right up Barack’s got hundreds of thousands of names and addresses of some of the biggest DUPES ever born. Get them while their hot and sell them anything you want…their buying!
You are really freaking naive.
Obama doesn’t work for the people. He works only for himself.
What good change has Obama created? He has caused a huge rift in the party with his incessant race-baiting and immature attacks.
Why do you people insist on having your head in the clouds? OBAMA IS A FRAUD. That’s all there is to it.
He is selfish, egotistical, and doesn’t give a damn about the American people.
A while ago Bill Moyers did an excellent program about impeaching Bush, with Bruce Fein, a conservative Constitutional lawyer who served in the Reagan administration. Fein made as eloquent and compelling an argument for impeaching both Bush and Cheney as you would ever want to hear. His central point was that once the tools are put in the toolbox, they don’t get taken back out, not voluntarily–no one willingly gives up power. And that is why is was up to Congress to act to remove any “tools” that undermine the Constitution, not only to stop Bush, but to send a message to future Presidents about the limits of their power.
A benevolent dictator is still a dictator. Barry believes he will win, and that’s why he’s all for keeping the tools in the box.
With the changes to the Democratic Party that have come about this election cycle, I will not be voting for a Democratic presidential candidate in November. This saddens me because I have only ever voted for Democratic candidates. Ever. But I am a liberal and a progressive: Obama represents neither.
*Liberal and progressive* is something your group simply cannot grasp and I am not sure why. I am sorry for you that Obama will lose in November, but it is a necessary response to an unqualified candidate being selected by the DNC.
We had an opportunity for an outstanding candidate and that is something we, as a country, will have to live with. And we will pay the price. But it is a necessary price in order for real *change* to come about. THAT concept is something Obama suppports who keep insisting that we vote for him do not understand: I, and millions upon millions of others, would rather live with a known entity for four more years because Obama is NO BETTER. And he is far worse on many levels.
To say I’ll correct this when I’m president is asinine.
And extremely arrogant.
Bonita, that spider on the rug caught my eye as well. What a fool BO is…not ‘if I have the honor of being elected POTUS …The O has no respect for the office he is seeking.
BO is a clueless, unprincipled, immoral coward.
He said the same thing about public financing.
What a transparent con artist.
I think this was from a old “WHO” tune, something about meeting the new boss, same as the old boss
Did you ever think that Obama may end up being the Democratic “Bush”? In 2000 we were told that it didn’t matter that Bush didn’t have foreign affairs experience. How did that work out? Now the Dems have a nominee that doesn’t have experience in any area. Do you think that a Democratic Congress will go up against Obama or fold? They’ll Fold. Does anyone know what Obama really believes in other than himself? I truly believe the best government we can go for is a split ticket vote. The Democrats are going to have a strong hold on Congress and will be able to keep a check on McCain.
Karl Rove has an interesting op ed in today’s WSJ. Judging from the latest talking points from Obama’s internet army, Rove seems to have intercepted campaign memos or is now perfectly reading Obama and Axelrod.

Barack’s Brilliant Ground Game
By KARL ROVE
July 10, 2008; Page A13
For a campaign that says it wants to end the politics of the Bush-Cheney years, the Obama for President effort has cribbed an awful lot from the Bush-Cheney playbooks of 2000 and 2004.
For starters, Barack Obama’s manager admitted to the New York Times that he wanted an “army of persuasion” modeled explicitly on the massive Bush neighbor-to-neighbor “Victory Committee” of ‘00 and ‘04. Those efforts deployed millions of volunteers to register, persuade and get-out-the-vote.
~ snip ~
Mr. Obama’s biggest problem is that when it comes to substance, he’s following the playbook of a Republican other than George W. Bush. In 2000, Mr. Bush won the general election on the same themes and positions as in the primaries, including compassionate conservatism, the faith-based initiative, tax cuts and Social Security reform. There was no repudiation of past positions, no chameleon-like shifts in positions.
Instead of consistency, Mr. Obama has followed Richard Nixon’s advice, to cater to his party’s extreme in the primaries and then move aggressively to the middle for the fall.
In the primary, Mr. Obama supported pulling out of Iraq within 16 months, called the D.C. gun ban constitutional, backed the subjection of telecom companies to expensive lawsuits for cooperating in the terror surveillance program, opposed welfare reform, pledged to renegotiate Nafta, disavowed free trade and was strongly against the death penalty in all cases. But in the past few weeks, Mr. Obama has reversed course on all of these, discarding fringe liberal views for relentlessly centrist positions. He also flip-flopped on accepting public financing and condemning negative ads from third party groups, like unions.
By taking Nixon’s advice, Mr. Obama is assuming such dramatic reversals will somehow avoid voter scrutiny. But people are watching closely, and by setting a world indoor record for jettisoning past positions, Mr. Obama may be risking his reputation for truthfulness. A candidate’s credibility, once lost, is very hard to restore, regardless of how fine an organization he has built.
Obama has no core values. He will say whatever he needs to say to the group he is trying to impress at the time. No wonder people are so uncomfortable with him.
Show me a successful politician who doesn’t do that.
Stop being so naive.
Jon telling us to stop being niave? How appropriate. Now Backtrack is just a regular politician like everyone else. I guess your backtrack balllon deflated. Just becasue backtrack has a D behind his name, doesn’t make him any better. His Fisa vote is a perfect example of how he has voted over his short career. If you are not willing to accept that Backtrack is a disaster waiting to happen to our country, I would say that you sir, are “niave”.
So spare us your support of Backtrack, I will be voting for the only candidate left with any backbone.
Hillary 08
mccain08
The relevant point is “Obama has no core values”.
Obama has one core value - “get Obama into the Oval Office”. Everything else is expendible.
Naive is all of the Obama supporters and voters that fell for his slick marketing campaign of hope, change, and a different kind of politics. That’s the problem, Jon. Obama peddled lies to the people, trashed every other Democrat in his way, and now you want me to call that “successful” - sorry, I still have a sense of decency.
h like he will correct it just like he corrected the slum housing that rezko owned in his district, just he corrected the hospital facilities board in ILL. by reducing the number of board memebers from 15 to 9 thus making it easier for rezko to fix the votes of the board.yea thats change i can beleive in.
Jon, the “O no never, never no more” will say he’s for guns one day and against them the next.
In this day of 24/7 MSM propaganda that crap won’t fly.
The “flip-floppery”(good one Mr.J) of BO is killing the HOPE and Change memo from one of “hope for tomorrow and change in government..”
to “I hope the flip-floppery of BO doesn’t get anymore killed and Change in bowel movements to diarrhea, diarrhea, diarrhea.
A month before the FISA vote came to the Senate floor I knew how Senator Clinton would vote.
Our advesaries and our allies need consistancy and in BO they see nothing but another cowardly version of GW with a cherry on top.
How quaint and striking, to have an Obama worshipper telling others to “stop being naive”.
Naivete constitutes the whole construct of their support for Obama, unless one wishes to be more blunt and blame it on ignorance.
Such a lame utterance, as the one from Jon, is the equivalent of some careless idiot with their hair on fire telling a rational, careful individual that one should not play with matches.
Truly farcical!
Oh, I thought Obamalot was about changing politics. I thought I could believe again. His slogan should be “Change Oprah or any other deep pocket can pay for.”
But…but…Obama wasn’t supposed to be like all the other politicians. He was supposed to usher in a new era in politics. Who’s being naive, Jon?
Your point? While many of Barack’s supporters are disappointed, they have no illusions.
Do you really think Hillary would have voted against this bill if SHE were the nominee?
If you do, you are incredibly politically naive.
It was up to the other 50 Democratic Senators to stand against FISA. The Presidential candidate can’t stand against a law that only a small fraction (the ultra left) of Americans think is reasonable and necessary.
Hillary woulda done the same thing.
Quit blaming Hillary for Backtrack Barack`s screw ups.
Who’s blaming Hillary?
She did her job. That’s great.
This is the first time I Truly believe she has voted her conscience without regard to thinking about her political future since she’s been in the Senate.
However, if she had still been running for President, she would have done the same thing Barack did - which is what she did on her Iraq Vote.
Barack voted politically to get elected. I’d rather that then end up with McCain as President.
If Hillary was the nominee, she would have done the same thing, and it would have been right.
We should be careful and discriminating in all the advice we give. We should be especially careful in giving advice that we would not think of following ourselves. Most of all, we ought to avoid giving counsel which we don’t follow when it damages those who take us at our word.
Adlai Stevenson
HARP — Adlai Stephenson was the greatest man never to become President.
That’s the problem with you Obots. You always think you know what Hillary would do and you don’t. Why not just discuss what she actually did?
Hey, Jon is Obama’s health care plan universal or do you know?
Obama’s current plan is not universal. Hillary’s plan is better.
Hillary’s plan is the plan that will be passed with Hillary in the Senate and Barack as President. Not Barack’s.
I’d bet my left nut on that.
Barack needs Hillary and all her plans so he can copy them and say they are his, he did it all through the primaries.
If your spineless, intellectially and morally devoid candidate ever agrees to debate McCain, do you suppose he will employ the same strategy. Wait for McCain to answer and then say I agree but (then add a minor adjustment). He truly believes Americans are so stupid, we could never see through him. And Jon, you give him more reason to believe that everyday.
Thanks for the personal attacks but is that really necessary?
So even if Barack steals all of Hillary’s plan and attempts to pass her entire legislative agenda, you’re going to vote for McCain?
HOW DOES THAT MAKE SENSE?
Stop voting with your emotions.
It’s politics. Get over it, stop whining, and vote on the issues.
If you do that it won’t even be close.
It makes sense because we don;t want a shape shifting thief in the oval office wearing the democratic label. BOBO is a george bush republican, but he needed to con your support so he waited until after June to let the truth out. Do the right thing and switch your support to Hillary. It’s still not too late.
You started the personal attacks.
You think your words have more argumentative force than other people’s actions. You what if is more powerful than her vote. Like a rational paranoid, your ratiocinations eschew Ockham’s razor when seeking explanations so that all data is subsumed by your theory. In other words and for example, because you totally swallowed the RNC’s talking points on Hillary, you cannot conceive that she would do a basic decent act. You assume evil poltiical intent in all she does. To quote Powers, “She’s a monster.”
You have drank the KOOL-Acquired Intellectual Deficiency. You cannot see otherwise.
my emotions tell me oh wise and brilliant one why i should vote for barky when he couldnt care less about his own constituants over rezko, when he has associated with radical anti american idiots since he was in high school and when he is in the pockets of wall street and the ethanol lobby.just because he gets the money funnaled through employees instead of lobbist entities it is still special interest money stupid.
Jon,
Many of us have been down the road you’re on now — making excuses for our candidate when they disappointed us, voting for him anyway, trying our best to maintain our faith and hope in the person. You seem to think that is what “true Democrats” should do. And so did I before this election. I’ve been a true-blue Democrat since 1972, when I registered to vote.
But this election is different. I’ve never before seen my party eat its own the way it has this year. I’ve never before seen the nastiness and personal attacks that have been prevalent in this campaign — largely perpetrated, I feel, by Obama’s supporters. I’ve never before felt that the primary process wasn’t fair, or that one candidate was being discriminated against.
The fact that no one in the party leadership stepped up to say “enough” when the sexist attacks were happening says to me that they agreed with the behavior, even promoted it. It’s been these over-the-top, anything-to-win tactics that has finally made me say “enough.” Sometimes, principles should trump party loyalty.
If Obama, his supporters and the party leadership cannot embrace the principles of democratic process, fairness and equality between the sexes within our own party, how can they possibly run the country in a way that insures fairness for all — a core principle of the Democratic Party itself.
The bottom line, for me, is that the Democratic Party doesn’t deserve to win this year. Not only has the party put forth a candidate that flat-out isn’t qualified to be president. The sins of the party leadership have been too egregious to tolerate. I think the party needs to lose big to get it. So that has become my goal — to help them “get it.”
I trust John McCain more than I trust Obama and Obama’s recent flip-flops just reinforce that. So party leadership be damned. I plan to do what I think is best for the country.
You’re hilarious. If Obama needs all her plans why not just let the person who came up with them run the show? Her. Oh that’s right Obama is used to stealing form other people, like the 25 bills Jones just handed over to him that he did zero of the work on. Or the work in Chicago that other’s worked on their entire lives. He didn’t mind coming in at the end and taking all the credit for those things either. Has he ever accomplished anything on his own other than destroying a good section of Chicago? We all witnessed the great love/concern he had for them. As 32 of their children lay dying in the streets. He couldn’t even take 5 minutes to go back and address their pain, or come up with a plan to even try to prevent it from happening again. Perhaps he should have called Hillary and asked her what to do.
HOW does that make SENSE???? YOU FK
TARDTRON!!!! BECAUSE STEALING IS WRONGGGGGGG!!jesuzzzzzzzzzzzz you are THICK
With that statement, you completely lost me. Nothing else that you say is worth a damn.
Wow, you SOB. Do you realize how many women you just offended with that remark? You little piglet. She is the better candidate with a better healthcare plan (along with everything else) and yet that POS barky will claim her plan as his and get the credit. OMG. I want to kill you right now.
and I just SWORE to NOT engage them any longer! Alas I fail.
lol dang Miss Berry of the Straw are the bots knee deep today? or what??? lol
then you wont have any nuts left especially after dashule gets through whispering in barkys ear seeing as dashule is a senior consultant for health south or didnt you know that?
are you kidding? The BOBOweenies have a liquid concoction that let’s then see all the things Hillary would have done had space time taken a different path.
You are a complete moron Jon. Keep your head lodged where the sun don’t shine and pull it out to spew your shit on other backtrack supporters.
With your logic backtrack would have voted to give authorization for the war, correct? Explain why you support him? Bwaaaa Bwaaaa because he told me he was for hope and changey bwaaaa bwaaaa.
But I thought Barack was not a typical politician?
Hillary was the politician. The one who would do whatever it took to win.
Now Obama’s followers are praising him for the same behavior they vilified Hillary for.
If Hillary had been the nominee she would have voted the same way? What are you? Nostradamus?
Woulda, shoulda, coulda. Obama did vote for FISA. Fact.
Hillary didn’t. Fact.
(((chuckle))) @ nostradamwhatever! haha!
I took a “candidates” test about a year ago and I was surprised to see I matched so closely to Hillary. That was before I had studied much about her.
I will NEVER blame her solely for that misguided war vote. She didn’t make that alone. But I can say 99 percent of the rest of her votes through the years I am right ON with! Even the vote on flag burning. The DEMS at the DNC open were hostile about that. Personally I do NOT like it and I would slap a fine on anyone burning one. (but I served under that flag so it’s personal)
I figure it must be to Hillary as well. That’s only one of many votes I am in harmony with her completely on including the more controversial ones.
At least we have a record to JUDGE with Hill. Not so with Barry. Who the hell KNOWS?
Neither you nor any of us have any idea what HRC “would” have done. I personally “believe” she would have done just what she did.
what she “did” do was vote the way she has said she would all along. True to her principles, and those of her supporters. She honored herself and us.
what Obama “did” was vote the opposite of what he said he would do, and also “left off his promised filibuster”. Showing his lack of principles, and a total “up yours” gesture to you and all of his messianic believers.
So he’s in favor of amending FISA to give big Telcom’s immunity when they help to spy on you in order to win the general election, but he was against it in order to win the Democratic primaries. So the constitution means no more to him than it does to GW.
He’s already backing away from his “commitment” on Iraq which was the ENTIRE BASIS for his campaign. Like McCain, he hasn’t got a clue what to do about the economy, but it’s such a train wreck nobody does. Why am I supposed to vote for him, again??? Oh yeah, Roe, Roe, Roe!!
My protest vote is going to Nader….cause I think after the 2000 debacle it will be kind of ironic to vote for Nader.
jon — When Hillary was running for President she was honest about what she believed in. Obama has never been honest because the only thing he stands for is winning. He thinks he is intellectually superior to the rest of us and that we will get over his flip-flops because he is our Messiah. Bull.
That’s not true at all. Hillary ran as a centrist candidate, while she is in fact a much more liberal person. She said she wanted a nuclear umbrella over many Arab countries, and would “obliterate” Iran if they attacked ANY of them.
That is NOT the Hillary that I supporter at the beginning of this primary season. It was a political ploy, like her Iraq vote, because Fucking Mark Penn made the genius decision that America would only elect a woman who it saw as a hawk.
He was wrong, but it doesn’t take away from the fact that she pandered to what she thought the American people needed to hear to elect her.
No different from Obama.
So with your logic Obama will not implement anything that he has said because then he would not get reelected. So why vote for him to begin with.
Hillary ran as the centrist candidate because Liberals are the centrists in this country. The beautiful thing about being a liberal is that you don’t have to make any wild BOBOgirations to swing to the other fringe after placating the fringe you conned to begin with.
With a liberal what you see is what you get.
Should Obama decide soon that our troops need to stay in Iraq for “a hundred years”.
Jon and his pathetically apologetic ilk will call it pragmatic, and shout “well Hillary would have done it too”.
He, or it, and all similar bots are pernicious liars, presumptuous apologists, and shameless blame-shifters.
Stop, Jon, comparing the former first lady, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, to your copy-cat Barack Hussein Obama, Jr. (his parents gave him that name). He is NOT WORTHY of Hillary’s precious time.Big difference here:
1. where is Obama’s real birth certificate?
2 are his parents LEGALLY MARRIED?
3. moral values? Obama has none: reluctant to mention his white grandparent’s name, why?
he changed his name from Barry to Barack & was ashamed of his dad’s name Hussein. Why?
4. What did he do in Pakistan? (???)
5. Community organizer & speech delivery, 2002: great achievements??? GIMME A BREAK !!!
6. Flip-flopping too much !
7. Numerous gaffes
8. He & his wife are whiners!
9. No integrity.
10. What do u call a person who runs away from challenge??? (remember when Hillary challenged him to one-on-one debate, their 4th)
11. Instead he played the video in the YouTube his gansta style “middle finger to a dignified lady, the following day after his humiliating lost in the ABC Debate.
12. his suit is empty.
13. he is NOT QUALIFIED AND MUST BE FIRED!!
14. HILLARY WINS THE NOMINEE !!!
OWN YOUR SHITHEAD CANDIDATE!
NOOOOOOOOOOO more excuses! OWN HIM! He’s a SHITHEAD. He’s all YOURS.
No more derailing. No more redirecting the issue. No more changing the subject.
OWN YOUR SHITHEAD CANDIDATE.
uppity — ^5 ^5 They think Obama is whatever they want him to be when in actuality Obama is lobbiests run amock. Would Obama do anything about the price of oil — when his money comes from Oil Companies? I will vote for the man who is getting less lobby money because if the lobbiests don’t trust him then I do.
I too hope for change. I want the politicians to listen to the people for a change. The Dems don’t deserve to win.
Couldn’t have said it better, Uppity!
Uppity Woman, the kidgloves they use on this idiot, you’d think he was Mr.Rogers…
Yes Hillary would have voted against it, there is not one shred of factual evidence you could ever find that would suggest she doesn’t do what she says she is going to do, why? Because she always has. Now you may not like the fact your guy is a fraud but you really need to stop trying to deflect the responsibility off of him and trying to make it about someone else. Simply pathetic jon.
What the Fuck are you talking about ya brain-dead fool.
Hillary voted correctly both time on this FISA bill. Please do us a favor and STFU! since you don’t even know what happened.
No further proof is needed that Barkey’s low-info cultists should be viewed as what they are:
Drooling morans.
Back under yer bridge ye foul Troll!
Back I say!
Jon..And you know what Hillary would have done..HOW?…..
Koolaide snorting is now in effect I see.
They’re going to have to graduate to mainlining shortly…in order to get the same effect.
Remember kids, don’t share the needle ..m’kay?
Do you think Obama would have voted against the war if he would have been in the Senate? Every DEM running for President voted for it, Obama would have voted for it too. Obama is just a crooked pol from Chicago
Do you really think Hillary would have voted against this bill if SHE were the nominee.
I no for a FACT she was going to vote against the version of the bill a month ago. Or any other bill that would have dismissed 40 ongoing litigations or any bill that does not allow an american citizen there 4th amendent rights or an ability to gain standing in a court of law.
OBOTS don’t get it. YOU own YOUR “BITCH” Barak Hussien OBAMA, do not for one second talk about “Oh but Hillary woulda …” ’cause your judgement is as poor as BO’s and the only response you have is shifting the “blame” onto someone else for BO’s flip floppery and flat out LIES. You take responsibility for bring this cowardly fraud to the party.
GET IT SQUARE JON, the Senator VOTED NO. What part of NO do you not understand?
Man did that suck being “believes brain’s argues with it self”
I like being a kite much better.
Once your candidate has consistently lied to you for the entirety of their brief national political career (not including the state legislature, cause no one out side of Illinois really cares), then tis only natural you have no illusions. So, you admittedly support a self-serving liar, boot-licker and opportunist. Well, isn’t that special?
Lmfao! I have seen so many of his bottom feeders describe him as “an honest and genuine man.” You have no idea who you’re voting for because he changes positions on a daily basis. You shouldn’t have the privilege of voting.
They really do think Americans are stupid.
Feingold on FISA: Elect Obama to reverse ‘terrible legislation’
Feingold conceded that public disappointment following gains for Democrats in the 2006 elections was understandable, but said that a Democratic president, “in particular, Barack Obama, should allow us to greatly change this mistake.”
“Barack Obama believes in the Constitution,” he continued. “He’s a constitutional scholar. I believe that he will have a better chance to look at these powers that have been given to the executive branch, [even though] he’ll be running the executive branch.
I think he will understand and help take the lead in fixing some of the worst provisions.”
“I do think that people have a right to be disappointed,” he went on, “but they also have a right to hope for change–on this issue, in particular–starting in January.”
http://rawstory.com/news/2008/Feingoldon_on_FISA_A_dark_hour_0709.html
He’s right.
Barack’s single vote as a Senator doesn’t come close to the power he will have as President.
Voting No on FISA woulda given us a John McCain Presidency and 8 more years of a downward spiral for this country.
I don’t get your logic at all. Basically you’re saying, Vote against what you believe in order to get elected and then reverse what you voted for assuming you get elected. Actually, all you show people is that you’re a ball-less wonder.
What do you think Bill did?
Bill isn’t running for President you idiot!
Jon:
Barackās single vote as a Senator doesnāt come close to the power he will have as President.
Jonny, this is EXACTLY why we are concerned that he voted for this!
Actually, Jon, McClatchy Newspapers did an analysis of Bill Clinton’s presidency shortly after he left office. What they found, and published, was that Bill Clinton brought to fruition and implemented about 95 percent of his campaign promises in the eight years that he ran the country.
Which once again proves that you and your arguments are full of shit.
I MISS BILL!!! Wahaahaha! Barky sucks wind.
I think Bill was a six-term Governor of a state in the heart of the Bible Belt and ran the White House like he governed Arkansas - as a moderate, centrist Third Way progressive Democrat.
You have to be kidding. Barack is known for his ability to communicate and so far the media is still with him. Do you really believe that he could not have made the case to the American people that the president should not have the ability to eavesdrop without a warrant?! That would not have been hard.
Most people think the bill is just about telecom immunity since the media (mainly TV) has not bothered to inform people that we just gave Bush the power to spy on whomever he wants. What is to stop Bush from using that power against Barack and his campaign now? A judge can protest but as I understand it this is kept secret and Bush can appeal and automatically get a lot longer to continue spying which should give him more than enough time to get the dirt on Obama, Axelrod, etc. Bet the Watergate perpetrators wish they had had this kind of power! Instead they went to jail.
BINGO! BernieO
Bactrack having more power is the most frighting thing I have heard. Backtrack is Bush III.
Mccain 08
As the poster above state. “OWN YOUR OWN SHITHEAD CANDIDATE, STOP MAKING EXCUSES FOR YOUR SHITHEAD CANDIDATE”
PUMA
So Obama won’t vote his conscience in the Senate. But - Presto, when he becomes President he’ll do the opposite.
Not exactly a reason to vote for a person.
In other words, he’s a liar now and that’s ok. But when he gets to the WH he’ll suddenly be a person of his word and tell the truth.
I’ve got swampland in Florida. Wanna buy some?
and pray tell how is being in the pocket of the street and the ethanol lobby really going to help us.oh yea higher prices for food as well as fuel because lees land is devoted to food production.you fool we need to drill and drill now and also work on alternatives for the long haul and corn based ethanol is not one of them celluose eathonal is.
4 years because Hillary will run again in 2012 and she will win it. John isn’t going to run a second term. We’ve lived with it for 8 years and John is much better than Bush. I can handle 4 years under the Maverick John.
“Will” have as a President… The Possum King and his loyal subjects getting ahead of themselves again. I shudder to think what Obama would do with the expanded executive authority of the Bush legacy. Mr. Fight the Smears would love the power to spy on his political enemies and destroy any opposition to his will.
Harp — I thought Finegold was the last of the decent politicians. The Dems trying to force UNITY on the Democratic voters will result in massive losses across the board. They just don’t see it yet.
Democratic politicians better start paying attention to the people or they will find themselves on the outside looking in.
I agree. I watched him saying that and could not believe it.
Especially after having seen part of Feingold’s opposition to the bill on the floor, where he talked about how tragic a “yes” vote would be. It is as if the entire Democratic Party has lost its mind.
The real flaw in the argument that Obama will correct things and “fix” FISA after he becomes president is that it fails to consider the possibility that he might not be president. (We can only hope.) We’ll then be stuck with a law that he helped to pass. This isn’t my argument, by the way. It came from one of Obama’s own supporters over at the HuffPo.
and, it’s a pile of stinking BS, because he won’t change it at all even if he sees the oval office, which he won’t.
“Hillary woulda done the same thing.”
Brilliant political analysis, but she voted NO, as promised, and Mr. O’ voted YES, breaking his promise, caving to Republicans, betraying his base. No surprise to us here.
Right, because she wasn’t running for President.
I’ll be the first to say that if Barack had been in the Senate during the Iraq War vote he would have voted with Hillary - the politically correct way to vote, even if they didn’t believe in it. As a former Hillary supporter, I always defended her Iraq War vote as something that was politically expedient.
This is politics. If Hillary had won, she would have voted for FISA and Barack would have voted against it.
It’s the reason that Hillary is better off in the Senate than as VP. In the Senate she can now vote what she truly thinks and be a champion for the things she had to put on the backburner while trying to stay moderate in order to run for President.
Hillary just made the mistake of turning to the center too early. If she had waited until after the primary, she probably would have won. She’s a much more liberal person than the woman who just ran for President.
And Barack’s about to get a lot more centrist in order to win.
Again, it’s politics. Get used to it.
He was born stupid, and greatly increased his birthright.
This is politics. If Hillary had won, she would have voted for FISA and Barack would have voted against it.
Obama 08 Coulda, Shoulda, Woulda
How did that work out for Kerry?
Yeh get used to a lying race baiting politician who will do anything to get elected including smearing the last democrat to get elected to the presidency. His campaign was truly a different kind of politics not seen since George Wallace ran for president.
jon — just cause you guy is a liar and a fraud that doesn’t make Hillary one. Some people just want the job because it would enable them to help the American people. Obama is about Obama — and screw the rest of us.
You really sound stupid Jon. Bactrack is trying to move to the center too late. He pandered to your likes and now plans to throw you and the left under the bus just like everyone else. He knows you have nowhere else to go now but to vote for him. If you think backtrack in the oval office will not be under unheard of pressure to cave on every issue you are delusional. Bwwwwaaaaaa Bwwaaaaaa everthing will be fine once backtrack is in office bwwwwwaaaa bwwwaaaa.. sounds like a three year old childs logic. Backtrack is bought and packaged by the nuclear industry, wall street and all the other “special interests” backtrack pretends to be fighting on your behalf. So fluck you and your candidate.
Noble principles matter.
If you prefer Barackiavelli that is your business. I don’t care. I know it is useless for us to converse because your selection criteria are different.
You’ve made your point. We understand Go to a Barack site and join your compatriots and leave us to our naivety.
did the “believe” shift change
and now we have jon? etc?
mangy mongrals
Except Hillary didn’t vote for the Iraq War Resolution because it was politically expedient. She relied, like everyone else at the time, on falsified intelligence reports of WMD’s in Iraq and entrusted Bush with commanding our troops to allow UN weapons inspectors to remain in Iraq. It was a diplomatic effort, and Bush lied. Bush was the Obama of 2000. He ran on a “humble foreign policy.” He was a man of faith who believed in the “just war theory.” And he lied. Remember what a big fucking liar Bush was? The Obama supporters seem to forget except when they try tying him to the one Republican who opposed him more than any other throughout his career - John McCain.
dang — How in the hell did Finegold come up with that gobbledigook to explain away Obama’s FISA vote? The Democrats have gone nuts.
beyond nuts
someone is holding a gun to their heads in the back room or something so similar it’s bound to leak out soon!!
there’s MY HOPE!
So, “Voting No on FISA woulda given us a John McCain Presidency and 8 more years of a downward spiral for this country”
Really?
Who told you that, Axelrod?
Everything I know about politics and the American people tells me that.
FISA is a popular bill. Bush has scared the American people into thinking we need it or we will be attacked, and 75% of the population isn’t smart enough or willing enough to question the President to see this isn’t true.
A no vote on FISA would have Obama attacked as weak on National Security and unwilling to protect this country.
It would have won John McCain the election.
Open your eyes, politics is a contact sport.
You know squat about politics.
Psst Jon,
I hate to tell you but Obama is weak on national security, weak on foreign policy, and weak on health care.
My goodness he thinks living in Indonesia while in elementary school qualifies him as being stronger on foreign policy than Clinton or McCain.
Can you say delusional?
You are an ass. He just lost a good chunk of his base. He is gambling on the left sticking with him. A bit too high stakes, don’t ya think? But this is a core issue for a lot of people. All it shows me is what I already knew. He, like you, is a spineless, limpwristed, yellow coward who will do anything to get elected. God, guys like you disgust me. Pussy. And you wonder why guys like McCain get all the hot chicks.
strawberry — terrific. And you wonder why guys like McCain get all the hot chicks.
There is a huge difference in Cindy McCain, who is drop dead gorgeous and a multi millionaire and the harpy Michelle. Women fall in love with their ears. yessssss
Jonboy when you reach puberty you maybe you will gain some insight. When a truly unqualified candidate runs he must at least stand for something, but when a candidate gets the presumed nomination and does a complete 180 on his positions he demonstrates how totally unqualified for the presidency he is. By his reluctance to make the hard decision he is proving what all the Hillary supporters have thought all along, HE IS NOTHING MORE THAN AN EMPTY SUIT.
AND THIS IS NO LONGER ABOUT HOW HILLARY VOTED BUT NOBAMA’S LACK OF CHARACTER.
jon — you don’t know anything about the American people. Did you know that Obama only get 54% of Democrats voting for him? He can’t win without 90% of Democrats supporting him so millions of people see what you obviously refuse to look at. The state parties are worried about Obama being a drag on the ticket which will keep millions from even going to the polls.
The only thing we really know about Obama is that he is loyal to the lobbiests who support him.
You utter moron.
Polls show that 81% of Americans OPPOSED this ‘compromise’.
Further, every assertion you’ve made in this thread is dead-brained:
WRONG.
Every. Single. Assertion.
Man, that’s gotta be a record even for an Obot. Stop emmbarassing yourself.
Go a away you know nothing and are contributing nothing to the discussion here.
I guess Jon told us one thing, that Obama does stand for SOMETHING, finally! Obama stands for say or do anything to win.
and 75% of the population isnāt smart enough or willing enough to question the President to see this isnāt true.
That includes Barack Insane Hussien Obama.
BO, by your own definition is a fraud. YOU own him.
But Barack was against it before he was for it. Do you think that the Republicans didn’t notice that? All I know about politics I learned from the Rethugs…they attack your perceived strength. BO’s supposed strength was that he was a new kind of leader, not a rank opportunist politician. Turns out he’s opportunistic even by the low standards of a rank opportunist.
But the biggie is still to come.
Dateline September 5, 2008
Barack Obama said today that his position on Iraq is not that different from John McCain’s.
Things like FISA suit that chicago thug just fine. He can use it to stop dissent. Barack Obama is not interested in Democracy. Just look at what his WEB ECHO CHAMBER program and how he dispatches his little savages to shut us up daily.
Democracy is a problem for Barack Obama. That’s why he loves the middle east so much.
uppity — well said ^5
Uppity once again you are Bang On correct!
Hillary woulda done the same thing ? WTF are you Mrs Cleo “Call me now Mrs. Cleo your psychic friend
Well, Obama accepted delegates from people in Michigan who telepathically voted for him. Can he bend spoons with his mind, too?
Hey Jon,
Is this like you knowing the Obama would have voted AGAINST the war if he’d actually been in the Senate? You guys are hilarious. You can’t even acknowledge you candidate is seriously flawed, inept, and INEXPERIENCED.
Read above.
I clearly stated that Barack would have voted with Hillary on the war if he was in the Senate.
No one with Presidential aspirations would have voted against war months after America was attacked on its own soil.
No one but an Anti- American, terrorist- appeasing moron, right?
BUT…BUT..BUT..BUT…He is giing to change Washington. He told me so. What a joke you farts are.
Ah ha ha. I miss calling people “farts” and “fart knockers.”
And therefore he would have never made it this far….DUH! He would not be here to flippty flop because that is not what the American public signed on for, you git. They believed him when he promised hope and change. That was what you all said about him, hope, change, new, fresh, a different kind of politician, blah, blah, blah. In marketing terms, Jonnyboy, you just pulled a bait and switch. Dickless wonder.
Jon would know.
.
I started to recall the countless news articles and what so many talking heads had said about Obama supporters not caring about substance or issues; about how so many of them truly had good intentions and wanted to be a part of a real movement for change but Barackās unprincipled campaign had turned them into duped, drinkers of the juice.
Today, I am proud to tell those writers and pundits they were wrong! The immediate, public outrage by Obama supporters against his vote for FISA and immunity for lawbreakers has given me HOPE!
Now, I really believe a change is coming! I believe the disaffected Obama supporters who love this country and understand the dangers of FISA will join The PUMA Movement which includes Independents, Conservatives, Democrats, and anyone who loves this country.
http://countusout.wordpress.com/
LOL
you’re a child.
Jon — I know Democracy is so funny. Cause we ordinary people are so intellectually inferior to the Great Obama. But we get it and you don’t. Whose inferior now?
It is very possible that the Republican will regain the house in 2010. Will then Mr. Obama sign everything they throw at him because we would not want a republican in the White house. This is the “We had to destroy it to save it ” argument. Only someone that has been drinking to much koolaid or is brain dead will believe this argument.
Why are Democratic voters, in this case, BO supporters so gullible and naive? It’s not b/c of their age, race or gender.
Why don’t they do their homework! And don’t tell me they have b/c if they did they would have known the political candidate who goes by the name of BO was going to pander and vote YES on FISA.
Y’all knew it! And yet, you feel let down, betrayed, or better yet, lead astray by your anointed one’s two faced pandering.
Wake-up people! This is called politics! This is how the game is played!
To continue to pretend to believe that your candidate is somehow above the political fray is like believing one day money will grow on trees.
You mean money DOSEN`T grow on trees. Next you`ll be dissing santa.
So with that logic Obama will not do anything he has said because that would keep him from being reelected.
re elected? Did I fall asleep last night and wake up in November? he’s not been elected.
Hopey and changey are slogans packaged to sell the gullible and naive voter, that sounds like it might be you, a bunch of empty goods. Kinda like the empty suit that he is.
Someone please tell me it’s still July
Obama shows us once again that he has no backbone. He will do or say anything to win. He is not the man he would like us to think he is. Obama is a fraud!
ellen tenn — Obama won’t do anything about the price of oil because he owes oil companies big time for their support. Obama is a lobbiest dream and an American nightmare. Obama is the Freddy Krueger of politics.
How much bundled Telecomm. monies are funneled to Obama? Follow the money for his vote…
Jon where’d you go?
I was just getting warmed up.
Both extremes of the political/economic spectrum adore having a spying/thought police. In Stalin’s Communist Russia we had the KGB in Hitler’s Facist Germany we had children spying on their own parents among other abuses. In Bush’s regime we have Fisa. In the current Democratic party we have Obama. God help us.
Having been a college professor for twenty years, I have had the opportunity to observe up close the results of our broken educational system. Years ago I played Trivial Pursuit with a group of my students and it became clear to me that their basic knowledge of history was sorely lacking. While playing the game, they would do anything to avoid the yellow history questions and when finally having to answer one from this dreaded category, they usually got the answer wrong. I cannot help but wonder if this isn’t the reason we have George Bush and are now threatened with the choice between Senators McCain and Obama.
Waffles will say or do anything if he thinks it will help him win. He would rather rent out a stadium, hire a rock band to create a crowd and excitement, and make a speech in front of “fans” than face the real democrats at the convention. This man doesn’t have the courage to face his political opponants in a friendly venue. Can you imagine what a coward he’ll be on the world stage?
chezmadame — I don’t think Obama would be a coward on the world stage. Obama has a definite agenda. They are terrified in Israel because they know what that agenda is. Obama is the muslim’s best friend. Just look at the only people’s he’s been loyal to in the last 20 years and you can see our future.
Or worse. To prove his manhood, he may bomb the shit out of Iceland.
strawberry — you got it. We have no idea what Obama would do because he has been very careful not to say much about anything but himself. I know one thing — he would be a disaster.
LOL @ bomb iceland!!!
how about this
he will privatize Social Security
he will leave the troops in Iraq
he will continue tax cuts for the uber wealthy
he will listen in on and spam each and every person that has ever said an evil word about him on the net (hehe ok that’s a bit much right?)
he will allow Nuclear Waste dumps on every corner
say to HELL with clean coal (let it burn black)
make it a requirement to PRAY (preferably to the likes of Rev. Wright) each and every morning before school
he will freely segregate neighborhoods so that his friends and brothers from the desert can live near by and not be offended by women w/out burkas
what else?
sounds about Wright to me
LMAO. It would be funnier, if it weren’t true. Poor Obambi and his daddy issues.
Thought ya’ll would be interested in this from
The Black Agenda Report:
The 2008 Democratic presidential campaign must hold a record for the amount of nonsense that was passed off as policy substance worthy of discussion. All hell broke loose and tongues wagged endlessly and needlessly because of an accurate statement made by the candidate first husband and former president Bill Clinton. āIt is wrong that Senator Obama got to go through 15 debates trumpeting his superior judgment and how he had been against the war. Thereās no difference in your (Obamaās) voting record, and Hillaryās, ever since. Give me a break. This whole thing is the biggest fairy tale Iāve ever seen.ā
The words fairy tale resonated in millions of ears, but the validity of Clintonās comments were lost on a public incapable of distinguishing fact from fiction, or trivia from substance. Obama is now in the process of proving Bill Clinton right. Ever since Hillary Clinton pulled out of the race, he has laughed at his defenders and sneered that his now disappointed supporters were too stupid to read what he said or really listen to his lofty speeches. He told them all along he wasnāt really anti-war and it is just too bad that they didnāt get it.

Ah come on, give the man a break! He just pushed the wrong button. He meant to vote Not Present.

beth taylor in the 80’s high schools stopped teaching civics. Now we have a generation of young people who have no clue about our nation’s origins. If we forget History we are condemned to repeat it. Seniors and boomers understand this and we vote — what about after us? This is what they are counting on.
When Obama began his run I read that he was the product of 15 years of training by an Executive Training firm. He has been vague about where he stands because the object is to get him in and then let him run amuck with our Democracy. Sell the sizzle.
I never thought I would look to the Republicans to keep our Democracy intact. I thought I would be a Democrat all my life — However, I will never trust a party who forces a Barack Obama down my throat for the sake of UNITY.
I so agree with you, s. hall. I’ve voted only Democrat for almost 40 years and I will never trust them again.
Backtrack Obama is unqualified, inexperienced, and now we learn, a bold-faced liar. How dare they force him on us!
Medusa ^5 ^5
This is so true. What’s going to happen to this country after we’re gone, and we leave it in the hands of people who can’t even find the U.S. on a world map or their own state on a U.S. map?
Medusa, thanks for posting. This type of reaction from Obama supporters doesn’t surprise me. I’m sure they are heart broken by his many betrayals. He got these poor suckers to believe in him and his marketing only to leave them even more disillusioned then they already were. Now, he’s got his spin machine and paid bloggers out doing damage control. What a terrible job that must be to spin lies to cover up lies.
I wonder how Nader’s poll numbers are looking these days? He has a post on his website now welcoming disillusioned Obama supporters.
grlpatriot — Nader again???? Are you kidding? Every 4 years Nader comes out to run for President — he makes a bit of money and then disappears for another 4 years. Nader cost us 2000 I will never forgive him for that.
Donna Brazile, Gore’s campaign manager ā great ‘judgement’ there, Albert ā desperately wants you to believe that. It makes a great excuse (for her own ineptitude), don’t you think? Howard Dean certainly does; he repeats it for her at every opportunity.
Big Al lost his home state of Tennessee, just as he did Big Dog’s home state of Arkansas. Oh-for-two. Donna probably won’t remind you of that, though.
Plus, there’s that little matter of roughly a quarter million of your fellow Democrats (in Florida alone) who intentionally voted for the Republican candidate. (Just as some are already proactively planning to do this year.)
If assigning blame where it least belongs makes it easier for you to remain a good Democrat . . . well, I’m sure Donna will be very happy.
Six percent nationally, as of July 1st, even without the wall-to-wall coverage given McCain / Obama by major media.
Now, if Ralph and Bob were allowed into the debates . . .
see, Leadership means you lead… you say No to FISA and you make the case against it… then you vote NO to FISA…
on the other hand you got Baracktrack… who is getting loads of cash money from the telecoms… and the oil industry etc etc…
so his allegiance is to them… therefore his vote supporting FISA…
now all the other corrupt politicians line up behind Baracktrack for their share of the cash when they sell out the constitution and america…
what happened to hope and change?
now i ask you again, where are these amazing leadership abilities you say he has?
why can’t he inspire anyone let alone himself to protect the constitution and america?
why? because he has no interest in doing it… and he has no real leadership…
he just reads a teleprompter and Axelrod gives him the same plagerised speeches he gives all his clients…
and you eat it all up…

Obama has threw moveon.org under the bus so the FISA vote was no surprise!
Obama thinks he can leave the liberals under the bus while he courts the right however, he will find that the liberals will stay home–and 15 to 20% of the Hillary’s Dems will vote McCain.
Bitter feelings will abound after Obama loses the Presidency in a landslide and Congress as well and it wouldn’t surprise me if he got impeached from the Senate as his scandals come to the surface. There is so much the powers that be know about Obama but are keeping under the rug as long as there’s a chance he will win in November.

We independents liked Hillary because she was more conservative than Obama and not as dumb as Bush. But now she’s turned more liberal than Obama. What gives? Not enuf bucks from the telecoms?
To Rob MacGregor from another Rob, no Hillary just demonstrated honor and respect for her oath of office to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, while Backtrack Obama chose to commit an impeachable act, and shit on his oath of office. And now Russ Feingold says we should elect this S.O.B. and expect that he would honor the oath of office as President ? This FISA vote, while not surprising, was still shocking to the sensibilities, because it really showed who was in whose pocket, and it allows courts to dismiss all of the cases against the telecoms. Those cases were the last and best chance of ever bringing George Bush, Karl Rove, Dick Cheney, and the rest of the miscreants to justice, and a good number of Democrats gave them a get-out-of-jail-free card. I will likely have to stop posting for a while, because I seem to get a warning from the keeper of the comments section if I try to post more than once every few hours (along with the dropping of my attempted comment). I can’t figure out how the trolls get away with posting every two minutes, unless the gate keeper likes to keep the waters roiling by allowing their repeated posts. As an aside, say what you will about Jesse Jackson and his son, Jr., but they are not stupid. I believe that Jesse knew damn well that his microphone was “hot”, and that this was all very well thought-out and meticulously staged (even the “apology”, and the rebuke from Junior)for strategic purposes, and to distract from the FISA vote fall-out.
The Clintons are known for their shading and triangulating. HRC changed her position on multiple issues, including the gas tax and drivers licenses for illegal aliens.
But I would have voted for her if she got the nomination because I’m not a sore loser and because I know that she’s far, far better than McCain on every important issue — as is Obama.
How so? They both voted to trash the constitution yesterday. The PM of Iraq, after talking with BO, said he was comfortable that there wasn’t substantive difference between the two (paraphrasing). Neither of them has a clue what to do about the economy, but then nobody does - it’s that bleak. BO’s already giving way on reproductive rights — see his comments about late-term abortion in ‘Relevant’(?) some Christian mag. He wants to expand giving tax dollars to churches. He’s opted out of public financing.
I don’t see much difference. Well, McCain will occassionally tell you the truth - that’s one difference I guess, but not in BO’s favor.
