Attention: Now Auditioning Obama Surrogates and VP Contestants

Wanted: Surrogates to ably represent Senator Obama in all news media.

Qualifications:

1. Ability to parrot the same three talking points ad nauseum while pretending to say something new, deep and valuable. Yes we can!

Senator Obama:

a. Is a great communicator
b. Has good judgment
c. Brings people together

2. Position features no pay for your trouble. Necessitates barking like an attack dog to rip Senator McCain a new one, all the while pretending it has nothing to do with the newbie Senator from Illinois, who, as you know stands nobly above the fray at all times.

3. Ability to think fast on your feet is a must. Since the Senator has no real qualifications for the job of President and a sketchy, brief Senate record at best, be prepared to improvise.

Sample talking points:

a. I can’t point to anything specific, I dunno, there’s just something special about the guy. (ref. Gov. Richardson)
b. He’s so fresh. (ref. Speaker Nancy Pelosi)
c. His inexperience is actually a plus. (again, that Pelosi lady – wow, she’s good!)
d. He’s clean. He’s got the whole package. (ref. Senators Biden and Reid)

4. Surrogate must be ready, willing and able to be thrown under the bus at the first sign of trouble for the campaign. Must supply your own protective gear.

Warning:

a. May necessitate you being left hanging out to dry with your drawers down around your knees, flapping in the breeze on national TV.
b. The Senator will disavow all knowledge of your actions and insult you publicly.
c. Your character and credibility may be besmirched permanently as a result of your risky behavior pertaining to the campaign.

A personal note to you from the Senator who shall not be named:

This attractive job offer is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Rejecting this offer may label you ‘racist’. You will be ostracized once my billion dollar war chest buys me the Presidency and you are on my sh*t list.

Since we are now on board with President Bush’s faith based initiatives (Ssshh, don’t mention Bush’s name when you talk about this stuff), we’ve got some neat new Hopey/Changey concepts for you to add to your daily mantra.

Chant these to yourself before all public appearances:

I hope voters don’t see that all my stuff about change is a bunch of b.s. Ommmm.

I hope the Super Delegates don’t change their minds by the Convention. Ommmm.

I hope Rezko doesn’t change his mind about protecting my identity for a shorter sentence. Ommmm. Ommmm. Ommmm. Ommmm. Ommmm. Ommmm. Ommmm. Ommmm. (This is a big one)

I hope the media keeps pretending they don’t notice me change my positions on all my campaign promises. Ommmm.

See how easy this is?

Hop aboard the hope/change train now!

I’ll need your answer by close of business today or we’ll run you out of office when you’re up for re-election.

Obama for President: Risk you can believe in.

Believe you are so right man. You nailed it!!! WOW!! You are SOOO awesome. He never really said that…

He DID those things…they’re called actions. He did them based on his godly and divine judgement.

Didn’t you hear BO, the son of Rezko say we aren’t listening to him?

“Holy cr*p are you pathetic!”, said MEchelle Obama to her husband.

Comment by blueasthesky | 2008-07-11 19:21:08

You’re right. Because every time somebody quotes Obama against him, it’s always taken out of context.

Maybe you should apply for the job!

Donna Brazile–she hasn’t been thrown under the bus quite yet for being a lesbian because Donna has Obama’s balls in her hands. one squeeze and its all over.

Getting people to believe utterly stupid shit…

Handling ‘covert operations’….

Expertise in smear politics and the politics of character assassination…

The ability to lie with a straight face….

No moral or ethical code whatsoever…..

No compunction in condemning little old ladies to a freezing winter with no heat…

This is all about Barack and his chance to “play” President.

Since he has become the presumptive Democrat nominee (by any means necessary), Barack has shown some disturbing patterns.

One that blasted the alarm bells off the Richter scale, for me, was the “seal”. I remember wondering, “Is this man nuts?” Barack’s seal immediately reminded me of the huge, childlike clock that Flavor Flav wears around his neck. From this, and from watching him over time, I have concluded there has to be some underlying mental issue! What in the hell would move this guy, who hasn’t even won his party’s nomination, to create his own presidential seal? .

(Flavor Flav, is an African-American rapper, television star).

My next thought was “Damn! This guy’s behavior is so crazy he just might make this seal into some bling bling jewelry and wear it around his neck!”

Seriously, this is no way for a grown man to act especially one running for President of the United States.

Comment by llilytoo | 2008-07-11 16:20:34

That seal was flat out crazy. I miss it! lol!

Comment by Indy | 2008-07-11 16:31:44

That seal did beat all. It actually scared me because I think it shows someone completely out of touch with objective reality (a legend in his own mind). He can’t wait to be King/dictator.

They have some funny stuff at TheRealBarackObama, (was Rezko Watch). Make sure to scroll down to see BOs redesigned campaign plane.

If this man gets elected I am going to seriously starting to think about real-estate in Costa Rica.

Now, troops, let’s redouble our efforts to elect the man whose top economic advisor says we’re a “nation of whiners”!

You’ll feel so good about yourselves come January.

Me? I’ll never forget your collective petulance and skullduggery.

Comment by jm | 2008-07-11 23:43:03

OMG-another troll with a fake cover “your collective petulance and skullduggery” Yeah, definitely not the language of a cool black dude.

Correction: We will feel good about ourselves come January – because we will NEVER give up on having a qualified statesperson of superior intelligence, caring and integrity in the White House – and we all know who that is- even though you don’t- because when it comes to integrity it takes one to know one.

Petulance: Refusing to put on a phony smile and support a phony candidate.

Skullduggery: Willing to spend our own time to investigate the chicanery of a crooked politician.

Wright’s attending Life Empowerment Conference courtesy of former Gov Wilder in Richmond Virginia who BTW is starting his own little campaign to get Virginians to sign up 100 or more voters to go democratic in November for a chance to meet with the Messiah(and maybe even be anointed.) His speech before the conference attendees apparently included Bush bashing as he compared him to King Herod.

Comment by Ellen D. | 2008-07-11 16:21:46

I have a question.
The convention was scheduled months ago. Is it some massive coincidence that the acceptance speech was scheduled to be given on the MLK Dream day and we just “happen” to have a black candidate to deliver it?
Ain’t fate wonderful?

Comment by basil | 2008-07-11 16:32:20

The candidate was decided on YEARS ago.

Check Cruella’s Nov 5, 2004 “Why Americans Hate the Democrats” article at SLATE in which she urges Dems to consider the OBAMA FACTOR!!!!!!

Comment by Indy | 2008-07-11 16:35:22

“Barack Obama will require you to work. He is going to demand that you shed your cynicism. That you put down your divisions. That you come out of your isolation, that you move out of your comfort zones. That you push yourselves to be better. And that you engage. Barack will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual, uninvolved, uninformed.” Michelle Obama

So much for our freedom to be apathetic!

So what are you on about? You own your vote- so do I. You’re not voting for Barrack- that’s your unalienable right. We won’t grovel or woo you back into the fold. We won’t regret nominating him and apologize. You all seem like you’re waiting for this wonderful moment of reckoning- it will not come.

Comment by AnninCa | 2008-07-11 17:01:57

I only speak for me. I’ve voted straight Democrat for over 30 years. It’s not going to be easy for me to ignore the travesty I saw unfold this year, with the lying from the leadership to the sexism and unfair coverage to the trashing of the Clintons and, finally, to the nasty, nasty tone of Obama supporters towards Hillary who parroted old Republican myths from years ago and talked trash non-stop.

Talk about hate, look in the mirror.

I now find myself without a party. The new Democratic Party is corrupt. That’s obvious. I won’t support it.

So it’s not so much about Obama to me as it is about the party and the direction it’s taking.

And once you make a huge decision, and it was huge, to leave the party, it’s quite natural to watch and see the unfolding of story after story that is absurd.

Give an electioneering speech in Germany? Absurd. Biden should smack him down for that notion.

The presidential seal? How crass.

Pelosi and her FISA bill? Good God, she’s an idiot.

Brazile’s daily foot-in-mouth disease? Who will have the guts to fire that woman?

Dean’s tour on TV misinforming the public about the role of SD’s and saying Hillary needed to leave the race? That was bright, wasn’t it. It spurred anti-Democratic grassroots organizations that are manned by the worker bees of the party. The ones who really know how to get things done.

They are looking increasingly like the keystone cops. It’s not a party that is prepared to govern.
It’s not hard to walk away now after taking off the rose-colored glasses.

Me? I haven’t seen one bit of awareness even that anything being spoken about by Hillary’s supporters who are now disenfranchised has been taken seriously. In fact, we’ve been jeered. This time, however, it doesn’t hurt. The attitude is just what we saw during the primary. I would have been surprised to see any acknowledgement at all.

To acknowledge it would mean change. That’s not happening.

So I’m not anti-Obama, frankly. I’m anti-Democratic Party. There’s a difference.

He just happens to be that party’s jackass candidate.

We don’t hate Obama. We do uncover some things about him that the MSM refuses to report. Much of it comes from real journalists. Those icky foreign reporters.

We put up with our candidate being vilified. We put up with old right-wing garbage dug up and flung by so-called liberals.

If you don’t like what we say don’t come here.

Too bad Obama supporters aren’t as upset about FISA as some of us are. They’re too busy still blaming Hillary for Obama’s vote.

Funny how Obama supporters make it about personalities and feelings. They don’t deal in facts and policies.

But I guess that makes us those old and in the way Democrats. The DNC says our votes aren’t needed. Fine. We’ll take our votes elsewhere.

Comment by jm | 2008-07-11 23:56:35

Thanks to the bozo supporter who gave Hillary 1,000 for her debt. Geeez, you must be a big shot- cause that’s 10% of what bozo himself gave.

Also: are you NOT aware that your word use is Brit, not American English? Oh well, you must be a naturalized US citizen,we’re sure.

And, we are not hateful, we are releasing our rage – which is quite therapeutic. We are also sharing information and updates which refuel our energy for ongoing action – to soundly defeat obama-whatever that takes- because
we believe in a concept unknown to bozo supporters – it’s called DEMOCRACY.

We are also regretful that you weren’t around this site for the past 3 months when we were neck deep in trolls obscenities and threats – then you would have seen actual hate.

Obama’s Claim To Christianity Doesn’t Hold Up
http://www.tylerpaper.com/article/20080614/OPINION0303/806130344

Last paragraph….

Obama can call himself anything he likes, but there is a clear requirement for one to qualify as a Christian and Obama doesn’t meet that requirement. One cannot deny central tenets of the Christian faith, including the deity and uniqueness of Christ as the sole mediator between God and Man and be a Christian. Such people do have a label applied to them in Scripture. They are called “false prophets.”

Hillary pretends to be Miranda from Sex and the City but she is really Charlotte; that’s why the media keeps asking about Bill. Ommmm.

Comment by candymarl | 2008-07-11 17:11:26

Why is the media still asking about Bill Clinton? Because so-called liberals keep pinning his faults and flaws (real or imagined) on Hillary.

Bill’s wasn’t running for President. Hillary was. But you vaunted progressives bring up old scandals more than the right does.

Funny how you don’t care about slumlord Rezko. Remember him? The guy that screwed over poor black people in Obama’s own district. But Barack didn’t notice that. Just like he didn’t notice what Reverend Wright said during his 20 year membership in his church.

LOL This was AWESOME. That line “he’s clean” made me think of an episode of Sealab where the eric estrada character brings out some homemade raisin wine which is kept in a ziplock bag to drink. He takes it out of the back of a toilet. The other character looks at him incredulously, to which he replies; “it’s clean, man!”

Ummmm, yeah, so are there any parallels there? I can think of a few.

Comment by trist | 2008-07-11 16:57:37

actually I think the full line is “I just keep it back there to keep it cool. It’s clean, man.”

But it still came out of a f-ing toilet!

from time magazine:

Consider the Republican Party. Many Republicans dislike John McCain with a passion that has lasted for years. Asked to explain, they refer to the McCain-Feingold campaign-finance-reform law (which they thought, incorrectly as it turns out, would bite Republicans more than Democrats), or his opposition (since rescinded) to the Bush tax cuts, or what they regard as his tiresome and preening routine as a maverick. They resent his mutual love affair with the press (which he jokingly refers to as “my base”). They remember a lot of foolish talk a while back about how McCain might switch parties and become a Democrat. And yet almost all of these McCain haters will vote for him in November.

Now consider the Democratic Party. The one-on-one rivalry between Senators Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama lasted only about three months from beginning to end. Their policy disagreements are negligible. For many Clinton supporters, the chance to elect an African-American President represents the culmination of a cause they have been fighting for all their lives. Yet almost half of Clinton supporters tell pollsters that they will not vote for Obama. And Clinton’s big-money backers are deflecting money and energy away from their party’s presumptive nominee.

What is their problem? News reports suggest that disgruntled Clinton supporters are angry about alleged sexism in the coverage of her campaign, while other Democrats are upset at Obama’s recent moves toward the center. The second complaint is childish. Securing your base and then moving to the center is the fundamental move of politics, like the basic steps of the fox-trot. And Obama is hardly responsible for Clinton’s press coverage. But there is no easy way these folks can vent their anger at Chris Matthews. So they are taking their revenge on people without health care, women who need abortions, and others who they (if they supported Hillary) must think will be harmed by a Republican victory in the fall. That’ll show ‘em.

If you listen to a lot of right-wing talk radio (as I do), you can hear the troops being rallied. O.K., so maybe McCain isn’t really our type. But he’s our nominee. And consider the alternative! Obama is the most radical left-winger since the French Revolution. He is a fanatical leveler who hates rich people and despises success. Plus, he’s an élitist snob. And his wife thinks she’s better than everyone else because she’s black. Truth to tell, the radio guys would rather have had Clinton to rail against, out of habit if nothing more. They spent most of their energy during primary season going after her. (Hillary nostalgia is surely one reason they are so obsessed with Michelle Obama.) But they have turned their guns on Barack Obama with remarkable ease and speed.

Democrats aren’t like that. It’s not that they’re too nice or too principled, or too unwilling to be ruthless. The hatred of George W. Bush on the left–and the eagerness to see him gone–is at this point as extreme as anything the right has to offer. (I know this because I share it.) The desire to win for winning’s sake is pretty deep, too. Furthermore, as I suggested in this space a few weeks ago, it is at least an open question as to whether Democrats this year will attempt to match the Republicans in their willingness to “swift-boat”–that is, to play dirty in what they regard as a noble cause.

But true, professional unscrupulousness–the kind of do-anything-to-win pragmatism that Democrats envy in Republicans–requires more than just working yourself up into a lather of dislike. Sometimes, in fact, it requires the opposite: putting aside your dislike, your disappointments, your anger, your feelings of betrayal. In the case of Hillary Clinton’s erstwhile supporters, all of these feelings seem overwrought to me. But there is no point in arguing about this, or at least not now. Now is the time to just get over it.

Barack Obama has refused $84 million of government money for the fall campaign because he believes he can raise more privately. For the Democrats to find it easier than the Republicans to raise money is a recent development, and a somewhat inspiring one. Affluent people who give to the Republican Party are advancing their own class interests, whereas those who give to the Democrats generally aren’t. This suggests an admirable seriousness about their giving. On the other hand, if they go off in a snit when their candidate loses the nomination, that will suggest that they aren’t really in this out of progressive passion–they just find politics an amusing hobby, like racehorses or yachts.

Nancy Pelosi: Second Letter Writing Campaign!

Subject: NotFallingInLine

Speaker Pelosi,

Why did you think it was appropriate DURING the contest for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination to tell other automatic delegates to the party’s convention in August publicly how they had to vote at the convention by formulating an argument that all but required them to endorse Barack Obama, an argument that you repeated publicly again and again, but at the same time chose not to bother to acknowledge publicly that sexism in the media had been a significant obstacle to Senator Hillary Clinton’s candidacy until two weeks AFTER she suspended her campaign?

And why didn’t you ever once call for an investigation of evidence of fraud and alleged disenfranchisement of entire groups in caucus states prior to Senator Obama – an unknown, inexperienced, unqualified and unprincipled weasel – having sleazed off with the nomination that he did not earn and does not deserve?

Sincerely,
NFIL Democrat/Voter

Ask Pelosi how much she paid for her new knockers and why did she decide to get new boobs when she is a senior? Man those boobs are so big they’ll crack her ribs from the weight. Ask her if the money came from the taxpayer dollars that were funneled into her husbands business with grants she gave him?
Ask her why her boobs point straight ahead and don’t move when she walks and why an old lady wants those kind of knockers. Ask her if she is taking her calcium because she will need to strengthen her bones to carry those gourds. And ask her if she is cheating on her husband and if that’s the reason she got the new huge boobs. Tell her she looks whory whith her new boobs.

Dick may not have any intention of releasing control!
